The Northern Kaioshin’s mind was a blur of twisted darkness. Flashes of pain and torment drilled into his thoughts. The emotions of countless Brenchians poured into his subconscious. Usually with his waking mind Maikeru would be able to filter his divine empathy so to focus his own mind. But the manner of his unconscious state coupled with his proximity to the invaded and conquered people causes such a symptom of his own powers.
Visions of helpless Brenchian men, women and children filled his soul. The Saiyans under Nasu’s command took pleasure in their recent conquest. Nasu may have been after the seed of the terrible Tree of Might, but the “spoils of war” for the king’s grunts was the Brenchian people and their possessions. The large spectrum of Saiyan tyranny was laid out before Maikeru; from people being kicked out of their homes to Brenchians being forced to perform manual labor for their new rulers. Violence of all kinds was a given in this type of situation, but it is another thing to be forced to witness each act.
No matter how much Maikeru wished to fight back his body did not seem to move a muscle. The Shinjin could feel his fingertips twitch as he struggled to move his arms. His eyelids felt heavier than a mountain. But as his mind passed through a labyrinth of Brenchian pain Maikeru could feel something odd touching his skin. It was as if he was underwater?
"Am I drowning?” Maikeru thought to himself. “The last I remember I was in the Brenchian Palace.”
As he continued to cut away at the mental invasion, the Northern Kaioshin could feel his senses return to him. Various muted beeps and boops rang in his ears. He could hear a discussion nearby but could not make out the words spoken. Maikeru needed to claw his way out of the darkness and get back to his duties. The longer he was away from his post, the chances of catastrophe grew. He needed to gather the means to put an end to Nasu’s plans before more innocent lives are taken.

Negi had put Maikeru at the careful care of the medical area of the Star Javelin, Nasu’s mothership that had just landed right on the Palace grounds, thus it was somewhat annexed to it while it wasn’t rebuild. The ship would be serving as the medical department of the palace per say and later on some of the medical machines would be transferred to the physical structure. To the hybrid’s surprise, though, the one responsible for taking Maikeru in was the Kold Demon Nasu had brought with him from Planet Bris and that made him frown his brows.
Negi
”What do you think you are doing?! Like hell I would trust the Kaioshin to you!” he roared at the Kold demon with fury in his eyes; Negi didn’t trust Laufey at all, and the Kold Demon seemed rather amused by that, almost as if he was having fun.
Laufey
”My boy, hold your horses. I’m here under the authority of that woman there.” his tone was almost teasing and he pointed with his thumb to Karota, who was desperately crying over Miso’s petrified body, shattered almost to the point of breaking down. Negi’s eyes widened like crazy when he saw Karota at such a desperate state and also when he realize just how dire Miso’s situation actually was. ”No… It cannot be…” he gulped as a drop of cold sweat ran down his temple and he rushed towards Karota, deeply concerned about both of them.
Laufey cracked an evil smirk when Negi left to the other corner of the medical bay and then stared back at Maikeru. He had carefully placed some plugs onto the Kaioshin’s head and made sure that the healing machine was working at a very slow pace so he would have the time to do as he pleased. ”Amazing, Lord Nasu, you presented me with such a marvelous lab rat. A god of creation. Huhuhu… This is a true scientists’ dream. That at that wonderful petrification that your General suffered. I shall have fun, and you shall have your spoils… So, let’s focus on this, shall we? Huhuhu.” the Kold demon seemed to be having a hell of a good time; never in his life he dreamt he would be able to study such marvels. Even the possibility of actually studying an active Tree of Might thrilled him and, in the end, Laufey was growing to like serving under the Saiyan King for his own selfish reasons.
Laufey was hungry for knowledge and that’s precisely what Maikeru had to offer. Of course he would first focus on harvesting the information Nasu so desired: how to become a god without having to taint his saiyan heritage. Following that, he would try to see if he knew a way to hasten the cure of General Miso, reverting his petrified state and later, he would try and gather as much knowledge he could for himself; anything about the universe, and universes if that was a thing, about the order of command, about the other gods. Laufey was using the technology linked to his powerful ki energy that far outclassed Maikeru’s own, using his own Mind Manipulation technique through the healing tank, taking advantage of the Kaioshin’s weakened state.
Laufey uses [PT-2] Mind Manipulation to try and gather information. Since he is over 50% Maikeru’s PL, he can do it.

Tomina found herself awaking from unconsciousness within the tank. It drained the liquid in it once it sensed that she was awake. Tomina emerged from the tank, stretching her arms above her head. She then looked down at her body, surveying her condition. The tank seemed to have done its work. Although it wasn't going to fix her clothes. Fortunately her shorts were in good condition. They were a rather tiny target to hit, and her opponents typically didn't aim there. The clothing on her other body and her stockings were an entirely different story. They had been completely trashed in the battle. Her outer coat had been completely trashed, and her inner clothing had a hole in the middle, showing off part of her lower chest. It at least covered the important parts though.
Tomina took off her shoes and stockings first. She raised the temperature around her just enough so that she quickly dried herself off. Her abilities were actually more versatile then they appeared to be at first glance. Tomina then tied her tatted coat around her waist to cover up the hole in her clothing. Tomina's midsection was covered completely, although her current outfit showed off her legs. Tomina didn't seem to care all that much about that though. She picked up her shoes, walking barefoot as she moved towards the exit.
Tomina froze when she saw the Kold Demon in the lab. He was currently talking with Negi, who looked just as mad as she did at the sight of him. To her utter shock, Nasu had actually employed the Kold Demon for his services. Tomina narrowed her eyes at him, but didn't make any moves against him. She wanted nothing more then to wipe that monster from existence. It seemed like Nasu was making use of him though. The situation must be pretty desperate if Nasu is having to resort to employ Kold Demons in his services. I'm going to ask him how many Saiyans he has under his command. This does not inspire confidence in our current state.
The Kold Demon then mentioned studying a God of creation. Tomina passed by the tank and gave it a good look. In there was a blue-skinned alien with white hair. She recalled him from earlier, when she saw him passed out in front of Nasu and Kinoko. To say that Tomina wasn't impressed by him was an understatement.
Some God he is, letting himself get captured like this. He doesn't even look like a God. He isn't intimidating in the slightest.
Tomina turned her head to look at the other end at the medical bay. What she saw other there was much more interesting then that "God". She walked over to get a closer look, and froze when she got there. Next to the sobbing Saiyaness and Negi was what appeared to be a statue of someone she knew very well. Although judging by how the other two Saiyans were reacting, this wasn't a statue. There she saw Miso, turned completely to stone. Tomina honestly didn't know how to feel about that. Her feelings towards Miso were very mixed. Tomina felt a twinge of sympathy for the Saiyaness. She understood what she was going through right now though.
"I didn't think I would ever come out of a battle in better shape then Miso. He was my commanding officer on quite a few campaigns during my days in the Empire. I couldn't have asked for a better commander to serve under. I don't know what kind of technique was used on him to do this to him, but I'm sure he gave our enemies hell before this happened to him. This didn't happen in vain either. We won the battle, have our own planet again, and acquired a mighty weapon. And we'll use it to get back at all our enemies, including the ones who did this to him. I'm sure that would make him happy. Heh, I can see that smile of his. All Saiyans love a good fight, but Miso can barely contain his excitement."
A faint smile spread across Tomina's lips. She wasn't sure if she hated or liked Miso at this point. He had turned against the Empire during the war. Although now wasn't the time to focus on her misgiving now. It didn't seem appropriate given the circumstances. It would be very cruel to kick a comrade while they down.
Interior Mind Within the darkness the Northern Kaioshin could feel sharp pains within his head. It was as if cold and pointed fingers began to claw around in his mind. Maikeru could imagine a dark presence standing by his side; whispering various questions in his ear. This disturbing invasion only caused the lone god to break his concentration. The flood of empathy and care came flooding back into his mind. Brenchian screams began to echo once more. Even the sorrow felt by the Saiyans over Miso’s demise was channeled into Maikeru.
Exterior Reality The healing waters began to excite. It was clear that despite the Kaioshin’s current state of unconsciousness, he began to become uneasy. His face began to tense up while his fingers began to clench. Bubbles began to rise.
Interior Mind “WHAT?!” Maikeru shouted in his mind. “I CAN BARELY HEAR YOU, AGH!” It was like a million voices screaming at the kai demanding help and aid. Laufey’s mental probing popped the thin psychic membrane that funneled all of these outside emotions and thoughts. Maikeru mentally gripped his head in pain. Maikeru was beginning to become submerged within an ocean of prayers, pains and demands. “I CAN, I CAN SAVE YOU ALL! JUST--- JUST GIVE ME TIME! I CAN! I C--”
“Tell me about the Saiyan God…”
“EGH,” Maikeru grunted. “SAIYAN GOD?! WHAT SAIYAN G--- AGH!”
Maikeru’s mind was pulled elsewhere like he was being dragged by a truck moving at light speed. He was being forced through countless thoughts and memories. It felt like a rush of an eternity that swept by in a moment. He could barely focus his mind onto anything. The only constant the Kaioshin felt was a pair of hands gripping onto the head of his astral form.
The rush of lights and colors finally ceased as Maikeru came to. Here, with the strange changeling phantom gripping him tightly, the Shinjin was kneeling the the ruins of the Check-In Station. A small bowl of water that sat in front of him was knocked aside as a massive torrent of cerulean and pink energy came cascading onto him. It was all a whirlwind of time yet a frozen moment. The malicious visage of Jarvis became visible in the blue chaos as he was about to slam his fist into Maikeru and the phantom.
The Saiyan-hybrid’s divine power ripped through Maikeru and the dark invader, experiencing the pain of Jarvis’ attack once more. And once more, and once more, and once more. The mental invaders incessant need to learn about Saiyan gods kept drawing Maikeru and the changeling inquisitor back to that memory of the Saiyan-Brenchian hybrid that became a demi-god.
Maikeru could barely get a word out before being struck by Jarvis’ again in this nightmare time loop. A mobius strip of a moment where Maikeru believed he could help return Jarvis back to the light of good...only to have it thrown in his face in the worst way.
“AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!” the Kaioshin’s mental form screamed in agony.
“Tell me how!” the psychic invader yelled with silent words of suggestion.
“HOW WHAT?!” Maikeru shouted within the scorching cerulean flames. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME?!”
Exterior Reality Maikeru’s body begins to shake and convulse in agony. The healing solution that bathes his body begin to become more lively. Bubbles began to storm within the medicinal waters.
Interior Mind Again the Kaioshin was forced to find an answer. His subconscious mind continued to formulate a logical answer for the uninvited guest of his mind. The Kaioshin's memories constantly played word association with the changelings demands. Gods? Saiyans? Where has Maikeru learned of such things before?
In a flicker of a moment, as if someone changed the channel, the Northern Kaioshin was now in the upper atmosphere of Brench surrounded with death and explosions. Laufey still was a psychic kidnapper latched onto the god’s mental form. Now, facing the two of them, floated Nasu as he constantly boasted about becoming a deity of his own right. Constantly threatening Maikeru and the lives of the entire universe before attacking the benevolent other worlder. Again, another time loop folded around them as Laufey kept probing for an answer.
But there was none. The changeling kept trying to dig for an answer that wasn’t there. The only Saiyan gods Maikeru knew of was the cerulean man who wishes to conquer all and now the Saiyan king who wishes to burn all. Laufey’s mental demands began to meld together. Memories of the pain experienced by Nasu and Jarvis began to meld together in some kind of psychic nightmare. Only to merge with the memory of Maikeru’s new mansion and home, the Temple of Light, that existed in the Upper Heavens.
The Temple of Light
The young Shinjin’s temple, a place dedicated to the memories of Kaioshins before, was Maikeru’s fortress of peace and enlightenment; a church of his own construction of his bare hands. Statues of Kaioshins past surrounded Maikeru and Laufey only to be suspended in air as they exploded over and over again. The entire temple erupted into flame. The once blue starry sky that loomed overhead began to fill with black clouds. The dark weather began to rain blood as the temple began to crack and break. Jarvis, Nasu, dark Kinoko and an army of Saiyans continued to beat down upon Maikeru and Laufey’s psychic form.
“THIS IS MY SANCTUM!” Maikeru shouted.
“TELL ME ABOUT GODHOOD!”
“WHY DO YOU WANT TO---” Maikeru continued to shout before a moment of clarity kicked in. The Kaioshin’s mind sharpened. The fog of painful memories and failures stopped. The rain of blood, flames of death, the Saiyan nightmares, all of it seemed to freeze in place. The Shinjin took a deep breath and held his hands together in prayer. Everything seemed to fall into focus. Laufey, while trying to dig for answers, unintentionally connected the dots for Maikeru.
Exterior Reality The bubbling waters cease and calm down. The body of the Shinjin rests at ease.
Interior Mind The Northern Kaioshin stood up through the frozen crowd of chaos. And looked at Laufey’s mental form with a curious look on his face. It was as if Maikeru finally remembered something he had forgotten.
“The last I remember I was on Brench,” Maikeru spoke. “I fell to the ground in pain. I was struck by an energy attack by that woman.” the Shinjin reached to his side. There was no trace of the wound that should have been there.
“This isn’t my real body. It must be a mental And the only places I’ve seen are my own memories and thoughts, specifically ones concerning Saiyans and deities. So you, stranger, are trying to find answers to divinity. Who could you be, hmm?”
Maikeru began to ponder among the Saiyan mental constructs. His eyes veered over to the Nightmare Jarvis.
“Jarvis would be a serious candidate for these low-life tactics. He enjoys bending his foes not only physically but mentally until they break. And he is certainly powerful enough to do so. But he already has the god-hood he searched for. There would be no reason for him to go through such lengths to find the answers. Besides, that false god is dead. He would not be on Brench in the first place to take advantage of my lack of consciousness.”
The Shinjin’s gaze turned towards the Nightmare Kinoko.
“A Saiyan with demon powers? Would they really seek the powers of the divine? They are jealous of our positions, that is for sure. But demonic powers of the Makai and holy energy are like oil and water. Divine energy would be disgusting to them as their dark corruption is to me. Such good energies would most likely burn against demonic powers. There would be little gained by a Saiyan with such energies.”
Maikeru walked through the frozen crowd until he came upon Nasu’s dark form.
“But Nasu, King of the Saiyans,” Maikeru noted, “he would have the most to gain. Out of the few mortals that know of my existence here he was the only one obsessed with godhood. But such underhanded means as psychic attacks would be dishonorable to a pride-stricken warrior such as him. If he did have the means to force the answers out of my mind he would have done so when I first appeared to him.”
The Northern Kaioshin turned back and walked towards Laufey’s astral body.
“No,” Maikeru’s hands clenched. “You are probably a lackey of Nasu’s doing his dirty work. I don’t know where my body is right now, but you and Nasu are certainly going to regret this transgression. Not only does he and his people butcher and take the lives of others, now he condemns all your souls to hell for such sins against a god.”
Maikeru’s mental body begins to glow with a blue flame. The bloody skies above began to change and metamorphosis into storm clouds. Blue bolts of lightning thundered down from the sky above the temple. The Nightmare bodies that littered his temple exploded into blue and white embers.
[Maikeru activates TRUE POWER, raising his power level to 720,000.]
“So, you want to know what it’s like to be a god?” Maikeru asked with a dark tone. The Shinjin rushed towards Laufry’s mental projection and grabbed the changeling’s face. Maikeru’s fingertips began to sink into Laufry’s skull. “FINE! I WILL LET YOU, NASU AND THE REST OF YOU SAIYAN FOOLS INTO MY REALITY!
Exterior Reality The medical pod began to glow with a brilliant blue light and an a occasional spark of static. The healing waters began to move violently like it was boiling water. Waves of energy began to ripple out from the healing tank and wash over the entire spaceship, the Star Javelin.
Using his Dimensional Telepathy, Maikeru connected every person on board to the constant stream of cries, screams and sufferings that a god of creation experiences. Brenchian mothers and fathers cradling their dead children who were killed from the Saiyan invasion. Subjugated Brenchians who were put to slave-like labor for Nasu’s new “kingdom” feeling despair. Families having their home, food and belongings stolen from them by Saiyan raiders pleading for their lives. These are the very events unfolding everywhere in the capital city they had just invaded.
And that was just Brench alone. More planets and star systems, each with their own civilizations that wept tears, broke sweat and shed blood through constant sins against one another. Violence, greed, deviant lust, pain, corruption, death and other unspeakable truths all echoed from every planet with life and into the Kaioshins. And now this connection was extended to the mortals aboard the Star Javelin All of these emotions, thoughts, images and feelings drove into the surrounding Saiyan Alliance members from being connected to Maikeru.
Interior Mind (These words would echo subliminally with Maikeru’s connection to the people on board the Star Javelin.)
“YOU WANTED TO KNOW WHAT GODHOOD IS LIKE?!” Maikeru continued to shout into Laufey’s mental form. “TO WATCH EVERY CREATION YOU LOVE AS YOUR OWN LIVE, SUFFER, KILL AND DIE?!”
“EVERY PERSON ON EVERY SIDE OF EVERY WAR PRAYING TO YOU FOR VICTORY OVER YOUR OTHER CHILDREN?!”
“EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSE LOOKING TO YOU FOR ANSWERS FOR THEIR LONELINESS AND SUFFERING?”
“TO CONSTANTLY HOPE THAT ONE DAY, MAYBE ONE DAY, EVERY SINGLE BEING THAT YOU LOVE WILL FIND PEACE IN THEIR LIVES AND BE DONE WITH THE DISGUSTING EVIL THEY DO TO ONE ANOTHER!”
Maikeru began to grip Laufey tighter as the psychic lightning bolts of Maikeru’s divine power began to strike the two of them over and over again.
“I PLEADED WITH YOUR KING FOR MERCY!” Maikeru continued. “I OFFER HIM A HOME, PLANET SADLA, FOR ALL OF HIS PEOPLE TO KNOW PEACE. A LAND TRULY THEIR OWN. ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS SPARE THESE PEOPLE AND FOREGO HIS SAVAGE MADNESS FOR POWER! AND HE SPAT IN MY FACE FOR IT AND NOW HOLDS THE UNIVERSE HOSTAGE AGAINST ME!”
Maikeru continued to growl.
“THESE SAIYANS AND THEIR THIRST FOR POWER! YOU ALL WANT TO BE GODS BUT NONE OF YOU KNOW THE BURDEN THAT I ACCEPT GLADLY WITH LOVE! IGNORANT CHILDREN! FEEL THE WEIGHT OF GODHOOD FOR YOURSELVES!”
Summary:
- Maikeru does give Laufey limited information about Saiyan and Gods that he knows about, which is mostly Maikeru’s experience with Jarvis and Nasu’s desires and the lengths Nasu will go to get them.
- Maikeru resists Laufey’s Mind Manipulation by transforming with True Power, raising his power level much higher than Laufey’s current power level.
- In response the Northern Kaioshin, using his Dimensional Telepathy racial, shares with the entire crew of the Star Javelin the constant empathy he feels for all life, specifically in this case to the Brenchians and the suffering they had just experienced at the hands of Nasu and his army. This includes Brenchian prayers, curses at the heavens, and other pains and sufferings.
- Maikeru has revealed to the Saiyan crew that Nasu was offered the original Saiyan home world and was turned down violently.

Karota was so immersed in her own sorrows that she barely noticed when Tomina approached, only realizing the hybrid elemi girl was there when she actually spoke. Karota stared at her with her emerald colored eyes in confusion, paying some attention to what she was saying; the saiyness was still quite shocked and grieving. When Tomina finished, Karota sighed deeply and stared back at Miso, carefully caressing the stone where his cheek was supposed to be. ”He did love to battle… And he only died because of that bitch’s trickery! I’m glad and grateful Nasu killed her. Serves her right! I don’t even care what Nasu wants to do from now on, but I will follow. I will follow what Miso wanted and I will make sure anyone who stands in our way will suffer the most! Will suffer a greater pain than I’m suffering!” she stated in a bitter tone, filled with hatred.
Laufey was amazed about the amount of interesting information he was acquiring by invading the mind of the Kaioshin, he could see glimpses of the very foundation of the universe and the World of the Kais. He could also see a divine temple somewhere in that world, but before he could find the exact information he desired, Maikeru seemed to wake up which was quite impressive; maybe he was indeed a god as he claimed to be. His sudden rise in power made Laufey back off for a moment, rivaling his fifty percent power true form, to which he would have to transform if he was willing to keep him under his control, but even then he doubted he would be able to do it without a real fight. ”Nasty one, aren’t you?!” he said in an ironic tone.
[Laufey’s 50% True Form. PL: 885,660]
The god’s rant was filled with emotion and Laufey could barely contain him even on his powered state. He knew he could still push himself a bit forward, but he didn’t want everyone in the room to know the full extent of his capabilities and, on his calculations, he was pretty sure that wouldn’t be enough either, and it was just frustrating now. So much knowledge in the head of that Kaioshin and yet so hard to harvest. The burdens of science are always unchanged.
Still, he resisted the Kaioshin’s grip with ease. ”Give us this godhood of yours, if it’s this much trouble, Lord Kaioshin, I would most definitely love to study it endlessly. But there’s still information I want and you will give it to me, aren’t you?” he defied the god, chuckling evilly as he stared at Maikeru with his bright crimson eyes.
Negi felt on top of his buttocks, breathing heavily as Maikeru showed him the images and suffering and, although he held no love or sympathy for the brenchians, Sadla proposal was quite tempting and Nasu’s hunger for power was terrifying. Still, even Negi would decline that offer because of his hatred for the brenchians, but the sensation was too much even for him, who was already conflicted with his own actions. Karota, on the other hand, just glared back at the Kaioshin, with her eyes filled with a deep burning hatred due to Miso’s demise. Her soul was getting darker and thus her empathy was dying off and she did not care.
Some other saiyans seemed conflicted, but the vast majority just laughed and the image of the brenchian people suffering and despised the idea of Planet Sadla, because none of them had an attatchment for it; most of them were born either on Vegeta, Natto or Earth and thus Sadla was a long lost lore.
Post by Queen Kinoko on Apr 19, 2017 11:18:26 GMT -5
Kinoko had been waiting just outside the Medical Bay doors, leaning against the walls as she just listened silently. Her heart was torn between her light and her darkness and she was struggling to find which path she should follow. What part of her was the real her? Which personality should be the one to take control? Thanks to Maikeru, this internal battle was allowed to ensue within her heart and her mind... though neither side saw it as much of a blessing.
The Saiyan Queen had been cleaned up, the scars on her face completely gone, the blood cleaned up and her formed returned to a regal look. The saiyaness' dress was drawn up over her shoulders (normally laying in a slump at her hips) Covering her normally exposed flesh at least to some degree. Her naturally blond hair shone in the light, constantly attracting the attention of the guard that was escorting her here.
whenever Maikeru projected his feelings once more throughout the mothership, Kinoko would draw into herself, closing her eyes tightly and bringing her hands up to her head as she felt the overwhelming emotion wash over her.
'please... stop...' She silently pleaded with the Kai, the guilt of her own actions already eating away at her soul, all while the darkness relished in the destruction and only made her feel worse. Noticing this, the guard stepped forward with concern in his eyes.
"Queen Kinoko, are you alright? You look pale." It was Cress, a saiyan once under Komatsu's squadron who refused to fit the mold of an Alliance Saiyan. When he found that Nasu was creating a new Empire, he leaped at the chance to serve a purpose he could feel proud of. He had always been fond of the saiyaness, and loved the fact that she had become their Queen... honestly he was quite jealous of Nasu when it came to her.
Kinoko raised her hand to keep Cress at Bay as she opened her eyes once more, sniffling as she wiped her eyes on the sides of her dress. She couldn't very well walk in there looking like the cry baby she was when her light side was in control. She took a deep breath as she tried to compose herself, straightening up as she pushed herself off of the wall.
"I'm okay Cress, thank you for your concern. Phew... okay..." She psyched herself up before turning to finally step through the door into the medical bay. Her heart was in her throat as she looked at Karota mourning over Miso whom she had grown quite fond of herself. She reached into the pocket of her dress and walked towards the saiyaness... She didn't doubt she would be the last one Karota would want to see due to her relation to the one who had done this.
"Karota... look... I know we don't normally like each other very much... but... He's not gone, just... stuck. If she had been successful, he would have completely shattered by now." She said, trying to sound reassuring as she offered her a small clear container with what looked like thick water in it. Cress had moved into the room as well, standing attentively by the door now with his eyes on his Queen and those around her.
"I don't know who's working on returning him to normal but... this should help... Just... don't touch what's inside." Her hand was shaking slightly as she held out the container, showing her own distress at Miso's situation and Maikeru's constant invasion of her mind.

Tomina nodded, completely understanding where the Saiyaness was coming from. She knew what emotions fueled the fires of vengeance, and it was something that Karota was conveying very clearly from her emotions. Tomina reached out and patted Karota’s shoulder reassuringly.
“That’s the best way to honor his memory. If it makes you feel any better, you’ll get your change to take your revenge out against the Demon Queen. She might be dead, but I have no doubt she still has allies and those experimental freaks running about. I know these mad scientist types: they always have some sort of back up plan. It just so happens that I brought in one of her stronger lab rats in alive. I plan on having…. social interactions with him. Soon he’ll tell us everything he knows. We’ll wipe out the remaining footholds she has in the world of the living, along with all else who oppose us. For every Saiyan they kill, our enemies will pay a hundred fold with their lives.”
Tomina’s eyes widened as Maikeru’s mental projection assaulted her mind. She clutched her head with both hands, gritting her teeth as the emotions from the Brenchians. Those were feelings she had felt before, although this time they weren’t her emotions. As the Kaioshin’s power spiked, Tomina whirled around, glaring at him in anger. She now knew the source of all the mental attacks that had plagued her throughout the fight on Brench.
It was HIM! Caesar’s lacky didn’t assault me with those mental images, it was THIS GUY!
Tomina was about to storm over there when Queen Kinoko entered the room. Tomina bowed to her, watching as she pulled some kind of container from her dress. She explained that Miso was not dead, and that he could be restored to normal. Tomina thought the Queens demenor was very strange. The emotion she was showing was vastly different from the attitude she displayed when she first met. Now wasn’t the time to focus on that though. The situation was just that strange. She looked at the container Kinoko was holding, then shifted her look so that she was looking her queen in the eyes.
“My Queen, is whatever you’re holding in your hand something that can heal him instantly? If it isn’t, I suggest preserving Miso as best we can.His condition will be irreversible if the stone completely shatters. It might be unwise to leave him out in the open like this in his current condition. Excuse me Queen Kinoko: there’s something I have to do now.”
Tomina gave her Queen another bow, then turned and walked over to Maikeru and Laufey. She placed her hands on her hips, tapping her foot impatiently as she glared at the Kold Demon.
“I know you’re capable of probing his mind and projecting your thoughts to him. If you can, patch me into the mental connection. If you can’t do that, then I want you to act as my translator.”
Tomina didn’t give the Kold Demon an attempt at a rebuttal. She transformed into her new form, her hair turning into a deep red and her eyes flashing yellow. Her power had increased considerably since her fight on the battlefield. If she tangled with Hakobe again, he wouldn’t be able to even keep up with her at this point. Her head snapped over to the healing tank, glaring menacingly at the captive Kaioshin.
“GOD! I MEAN TO HAVE A WORD WITH YOU!”

Interior Mind Maikeru felt Laufey fight back. The changeling’s mental fortitude increase tremendously. The psychic combat between the two of them lashed out at the mental constructs around them. It was a torrent of fire, lightning and other elements as each opponent tried to drown the other in psychic tidal waves. The Northern Kaioshin growled as he continued to fight back with fist, tooth and cla---

The Sacred World of the Kais
The blue-skinned god sat a small wooden table across from Laufey. Lush green grass cushioned their feet as the warm sky hovered above them. The Sacred World of the Kais was a beautiful natural world untouched by the mechanicians and darkness of mortal life. It was a literal paradise. The dark and glossy wood table had a small decorative cloth adorning its surface. Intricate patterns of gold thread were interwoven into the dark blue fabric. Sitting on top of the tablecloth was porcelain tea set.
Maikeru prepared two cups of tea, one for himself and the other for his psychic opponent. Any struggle, any rage or sorrow the Kaioshin had a moment ago was gone. Instead the chaotic god was replaced by a harmonious guardian who took easy breaths.
“I believe we can dispense with the theatrics. Most of them are just mental manifestations of struggle which can come in a variety of forms; the easiest being a “physical” bout. In the meantime I hope you don’t mind sharing a cup of tea with me,” Maikeru spoke with a calm tone. “Despite the circumstances of your...intrusion… I don’t mind sharing this moment with company.”
Maikeru inspected the warm drink in his hands. “You know it isn’t the taste that I really enjoy,” the Shinjin shared. “It is the warm feeling the cup has in my hands that feels--- I struggle for the right word. Pleasurable, perhaps? Hmph,” Maikeru shrugged.
“You know this is the first drink I have ever had in my life?” the Shinjin continued to talk out loud. “The first thing I have ever tasted was this. Well, I know this cup isn’t the actual drink. This--” Maikeru gestured to the cup and the surrounding environment, “---this is all a mental construction. I know I am really not at home enjoying this wonderful beverage. I know my body is somewhere you and Nasu are keeping me. But I would like to remember a perfect day before I submit.”
Maikeru looked around at the beautiful sky before return his gaze back to Laufey as if he remembered something.
“Oh, not you,” the deity clarified as he chuckled. “I am not submitting to you.”
The shinjin played with the drink in his fingertips.
“No, I am submitting to myself, well, my title specifically,” Maikeru clarified. “I have no intention of submitting anything to you nor Nasu. Whether or not I really know what he is seeking, knowledge of the world beyond is dangerous in his hands. And you know how dangerous he is, everyone serving him does, but they--you--do nothing. Maybe the rewards outweigh the costs--for now. If Nasu’s madness is not dealt with soon his crusade will bring the entire universe down around him, including yourself. Surely someone as mentally advanced as yourself would understand that fact.”
Maikeru stirred his tea slowly with a short silver spoon.
“Back to my point, I am submitting myself to the title of Kaioshin,” the Shinjin continued. “In my short lifetime of a few months I thoroughly believed that I could use my position as a god to motivate people to be better; that the elevated title would command enough respect for mortals to fall in line in the light of good. I thought that I could use the idea of a Kaioshin to create good and order…”
The Northern Kaioshin stopped stirring the tea that stood in front of him, staring at the quaint cup.
“...but in the end I realized that the title would end up using me instead.”
Maikeru turned his attention back to Laufey.
“Strange,” the blue god noted, “both of my predecessors died as a result of meddling with Saiyans seeking the power of gods. The first Northern Kaioshin, over hundreds of years ago, died being an ally to some who were reckless in the love of battle. The latter was killed trying to stop a Saiyan hybrid who strove for divine power. You might know him as Jarvis or Caesar as he loves to be called. And each Kaioshin was willing to do so because they loved this universe and everyone in it.”
The Kaioshin lifted the glass of tea upward in his hand.
Maikeru continued, “And now I find myself in the same situation with another Saiyan with a lust for power.” The god of creation lifted his glass and nodded to Laufey before taking a large sip of tea.
“Ah…” Maikeru sighed. “Just as wonderful as I remember it.”
The sky of the psychic version of the Sacred World started to become dark. Soft white clouds began to billow and grow covering the purple atmosphere. Leaves began to fall off the trees and the grass started to change color to a yellowish hue. Within a few moments large flakes of snow began to dance from above.
“Heh,” Maikeru chuckled. “I have never seen it snow here. What a beautiful sigh---EHACK!”
The Northern Kaioshin began to cough up blood. His body began to double over in pain. His hands trembled as he set down the cup of tea causing the golden brown liquid to spill over the table.
“When I said the title would end up using me,” the Shinjin added. “It wasn’t a play on words. I love this universe, including you, to hand my secrets over to that monster. I will not be responsible for bringing the downfall of this beautiful creation.”
Blood continued to flow from Maikeru’s mouth only to be followed by crimson tears. The psychically poisoned tea began to wound the Northern Kaioshin's mind. The atmosphere continued to grow darker. Snow began to fall faster.
“Laufey,” Maikeru smiled with care. “You should go. You don’t want to stick around in another person’s mind when they die. You cannot chance being caught in the psychic collapse. Besides…”
The Kaioshin gave the changeling a cutting glare.
“...you are going to have a tough time explaining to your “king” why his prized catch died in your “tender” and “loving care”, torturer.”
Maikeru leaned back in his chair, blood cascading down his robes.
“Not very often a god makes an appearance in the mortal realm,” he added. “It isn’t like kais grow on trees…” Maikeru’s eyes widened as he realized what he just said. He burst out laughing between coughs.
“Well, I guess we do! Heh, heh, ha, HA, HA, HAH!”
Exterior Reality The medical pod that held the slumbering Shinjin began to change color. The peaceful teal waters of healing slowly transitioned into a crimson color. Maikeru was bleeding to death from his own power.

Karota was rather surprise on how helpful Kinoko was lately, she didn’t sound like her normal self at all, but maybe war had changed her, it changes some people. Still, the hybrid saiyaness was so much in to her grief that she just nodded. ”Thank you.” she limited herself to say that.
Meanwhile, Laufey continued to struggle within the depths of the Kaioshin’s mind and he was loving the experience, even though it was far from fruitful so far. The Kold demon was taken to what was a representation of the world of the Kais and that made him smile widely. ”Marvelous place here.” he commented as he approached Maikeru for that illusionary cup of tea. Laufey chuckled when he spoke and shrugged, if he was there, he may as well share a bit too; it helped building trust and making his target lower his guard. ”My first drink ever was the ice from my planet, suck dry by the Tree of Might.” he said with the smile still on his face, as if that experience no longer bothered him and it was true: Laufey was pragmatic and what was in the past was gone and thus incapable of bothering anymore.
”They all do submit to me. Sooner or later. And I’m patient. And for you, my lord of creation, I will be extra patience if I must.” Laufey said, chuckling a bit as he enjoyed the view inside the Kaioshin’s mind. When he stood up to Laufey for doing nothing, he chuckled a bit more. ”Oh, but I did. More than you did. My servitude saved my planet and my kin. Nasu may be a wicked evil bastard, Kaioshin, but he is a man of his word. The moment he promised me to cease the assault on Bris, he did. You just didn’t have something worth bargaining for…. Or did you? I’m sure if you told him how to become a god on his own, he would have been much more flexible and willing to negotiate with you, but a long dead planet from the dawn of the saiyan history? That’s a terrible offer if you ask me, especially for someone who wants power.” Laufey shrugged, chuckling yet again. ”No, Kaioshin, you condemned the universe the moment you refused to share your knowledge. I find solace in knowing that I, Laufey, saved my planet. Maybe I’m a hero now… At least more of a hero than you.” he teased the god.
When he mentioned his titled, Laufey stared at him with his crimson eyes. ”In this irrational world, did you really think people would stop to listen, when they are so deaf by the melody of power? In this irrational world, did you really think people would stop to see, when they are so blind by the light of eternal glory? You are indeed months old, being so naïve. I’m not ancient, but having lived for a century, I know when to pick my battles. You should learn, God of Creation, or you won’t accomplish anything.” and Laufey approached too. ”You should learn patience. And when to give your enemies a victory, only to, much later, claim an ultimate victory.” and when he said that, he smiled widely with a nasty look inside his eyes. Laufey was definitely plotting something against Nasu in the far future, but for now, he was happy being his dog.
Maikeru spoke about the demise of his predecessors, and Laufey just listened and when it began to snow, he just stared at the skies for a second, remembering his home planet, but feeling nothing really. But then, when the Kaioshin grunted in pain, he was slightly alerted and took notice of what was going on. The Kaioshin, against all of the Kold demons’ predictions, was committing suicide. ”I didn’t anticipate that. Oh well…” he seemed more disappointed than scared and, because of that, he temporarily severed their mind’s connection.
When he came back, the hybrid elemi girl wanted to go inside and Laufey knew it would be dangerous to her but he did not care. ”I will put you inside, girl. But I can’t go with you. I have to make sure our friend here doesn’t die.” and with that being said, he touched Tomina’s head and pushed her into Maikeru’s mind using his ki.
Negi jumped on top of his feet when he noticed that Maikeru was suffering and then he roared at Laufey. ”What are you doing?!” he demanded an answer, but Laufey didn’t mind him too much. ”More than you can ever hope for, boy.” and Laufey’s tone just further enraged Negi, who then stared at Kinoko. He too had notice her change of heart and he just hoped it was enough so that she would understand what he meant. He knew she could read minds too, so he was hoping she would and thus he lowered his mental defenses. ”Kino… I mean, Queen, we can’t let him die! He is a God. This is just wrong. I hope you are with me…” he focused his thoughts, hoping she would catch it.
Then, Negi spoke to her out loud. ”Close your eyes, Queen, because you won’t like what you are going to see!” he said and, hoping that people wouldn’t understand what he meant, Negi put both his hands by the side of his head, closed his eyes and shouted. ”Twin Suns Flash!” and when he roared, a bright blinding light filled up the whole medical bay area, blinding everyone who wasn’t fast enough to react. Laufey and Karota were caught completely off-guard by that, and while Laufey had managed to send Tomina inside Maikeru’s mind, this connection would be short lived, so whatever she had to say, she had to be quick because the technique was dispelled shortly afterwards.

Kinoko offered just a faint smile towards Karota as if she was trying to comfort her. She really didn't know how to help them... she could probably return Miso to normal by simply reversing Nakiya's technique the same way she would reverse her own but.... he had been cracked... She didn't know what would happen if she tried it. Seeing as it wasn't her own technique that petrified him it might just shatter him completely... so she would hold off trying.
Whenever Tomia spoke though, Kinoko rose an eyebrow as she turned to face the saiyaness. Tomina asked her if what she had to offer would instantly restore him and her cheeks started to go red at her question. She didn't even have a chance to say 'no' before Tomina finished her statement with a rather slap in the face comment.
'ooooh let me at this bitch...' Kinoko heard her darkness growl from within her mind, though she didn't let that half of her take over... not here. She didn't want to look weak to those that she ruled over... but this wasn't the time for her darker half to be causing trouble.
"Thank you for your concern, but I know better than most what to do with a petrified victim. General Miso will be safe here as long as no one starts up any trouble, and I'd say anyone who does would have to answer to me, but I'm sure Nasu will have them hanging by their throats before they can even say 'oops'." She said in an oddly calm tone for having just threatened Tomina, and effectively everyone else in the room. It was like her threat was ill conceived and she didn't mean a word of it, and yet every word of what she said was true.
Tomina was quick to excuse however, marching over to the Kai's medical chamber and demanding to be let into his mind. Kinoko's face screwed up slightly as she showed her distaste for what Tomina planned on doing. He was a kai! They shouldn't be doing this...It was all her fault he was stuck in this situation, and Kinoko needed to think of a way to somehow set the Kai free.
Whatever was going on within the Kai's mind, it was enough that the Supreme being was attacking himself! Kinoko's eyes grew wide as she marched towards the tank.
"Laufey!" She called out, about to order him to do everything he could to make sure that the Kai couldn't kill himself, but the Kold Demon was already on it and so she didn't say another word. A strange sensation prickled at her mind, like someone knocking at the door in hopes of being allowed entry into her mind. If it was the Kai, she would gladly let him in... maybe there would be some way to save him... It wasn't however, it was Negi! She glanced over towards him but didn't say a word to him, instead just looking as if she was watching the exchange between him and Laufey.
<I agree... Negi but I can't free him, I won't act against Nasu. Get him out of here!> She said before bringing her arm up in front of her eyes to cover them from the brilliant flash emitted from Negi! She'd never seen an attack so bright before! She wasn't sure just what she could do to help Negi if she couldn't see... well, maybe she couldn't help mentally, but she could act mentally.
<Karota, hold onto Miso!>
<Kai!?> She then projected her thoughts towards Maikeru, trying to be as non invasive as possible when breaking into someone's mind. Just as Tomina would be pulled out of Maikeru's mind, Kinoko would enter it.
<Please stop hurting yourself! I know I'm probably the last person you'll trust but... we're getting you out of here... please just hang on. I owe you this much...> Kinoko pleaded with the Kai, hoping she could persuade him to stop inflicting damage on himself long enough for Negi to get him out of there.

Tomina didn't miss the thinly veiled threat the Queen had given in that statement. Although it wasn't aimed specifically at her, but the message was clear. Well, it wasn't as though she planned on harming Miso. So it wasn't as though she had anything to worry about. Still, it was a threat that she couldn't do anything about that she would normally punish someone for. Being the Queen of the Saiyans was on par with diplomatic immunity when it came to a legal shield.
To her surprise, the Kold Demon obeyed her orders without any question. She had expected him to make a smug comment and tell that if she harmed him, she would hear from Nasu. Fortunately he seemed to know the pecking order around here. Saiyans were the dominant race in the Kingdom. Although she frowned when she mentioned that the Kai's life was in danger.
"I'm more then happen to go in there by himself, but why do you have to stay out here to make sure he stays alive? It’s the tanks job to properly stabilize him.”
Her questioned was answered fairly quickly when she gave the tank a second glance. Her eyes widened as she saw that the liquid had turned a dark red. The Kai’s was bleeding out while in a medical tank. There was no way this could occur naturally. There was only one explanation.
“Tch, the coward thinks he can get out of this situation by killing himself? He’s got another thing coming. Keep him alive as long as possible. Just long enough for me to get the information from him. I don’t want him to die while I’m in there. As long as he gets the knowledge he seeks, I doubt Nasu will care for our prisoners ultimate fate.”
Tomina grimaced when the Kold Demon put his hand on her head. If it was the only way to enter the God’s conciousness, then she would put up with it. If it were under any normal circumstance, she would have torn his arm off for dare to touch her. Although that was quickly pushed to the back of her mind when The medical bay faded way. She soon found herself standing in Maikeru’s mental world.
Interior Mind
Tomina found herself in the middle of a snowy world. For a moment Tomina was in complete awe of her surroundings. The world she was in was a strikingly beautiful paradise. She had traveled to many different planets across the Galaxy since the day she could walk, and she had never seen a paradise like this. It all felt real to her. She could feel the cold air around her, and the soft snow beneath her bare feet. She wiggled her toes experimentally. Yes, this was completely real. The sound of coughing snapped her out of her awe. She saw the figure of the God who’s mental world she had invaded. She stormed towards the God, glaring at him murderously.
“You claim to be a God, but you’re nothing of the sort! You’re just another scumbag who looks down on us! What gives you the right to judge us?! What’s the difference between a God and a mortal?! We are not your children!”
Tomina reached the Kai, grabbing him by the collar of his clothing and lifting him up to eye level. There was no trace of sympathy in her expression at the Kai’s condition. If anything it seemed to make her angrier.
“After everything you’ve done, you think you can just commit suicide?! You aren’t getting off that easily! You preach the same hypocrisy that the Saiyan Alliance does! Just like them, you claim that you want peace, and then you try to bring peace by making us suffer! That treacherous Natto betrayed Queen Lettis before invading our homeworld and slaughtering their own kin by the hundreds! You invade our minds and subject us to torture in an attempt to subjugate us! You burned me alive and stripped my flesh from my bones! And all the great Saiyan warriors ignored me! Even though I knew it was a lie, it still pierced my heart like a dagger! You made one mistake in your vision Kai: There’s one great warrior who is watching me from the afterlife! That person wouldn’t ignore me! You know nothing about me! You don’t know anything about my race!”
Tomina slammed Maikeru onto the table, sending his teacups flying off the table and onto the ground. Tomina was gripping his collar with both hands now, gritting her teeth as sparks flew into the air. The back of her hair had turned red, and was waving about like dancing flames. Her voice lowered in volume, yet it sounded even more venomous.
“I bet you subjected every Saiyan here to their own personal hell. You think we don’t understand what the Brenchians are experiencing, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. We did what we did because we know those feelings all too well. It’s better that every other race suffer then us Saiyans. And it serves the Brenchians right. The Planet Trade Organization destroyed our homeworld, planet Vegeta TWICE! The Brenchians loyally followed the Kold Demons back then. Both times they were the ones who struck the first blow against us. The only reason they didn’t blow up it up a third time is because their newest master, Caesar claimed Vegeta as his own. And he’s no better then the Kold Demons: he destroyed Planet Natto on a whim before he died.”
Tomina pushed Maikeru down against the table so hard that cracks started to form on its surface. Tomina moved her grip to the Kai’s shoulders, a blistering heat emanating from her palms. She was heating up the temperature where she was grabbing him considerably, but she didn’t set him on fire. At least, not at the moment anyway.
“Planet Salada is such a distant memory for the Saiyan race. Even if you offered him a more important planet to us, like Vegeta, Nasu still would have turned you down. What good is a planet if it’s eventually going to blow up anyway? If we had backed down and accepted your offer, and you made us our own world, it would only be a matter time before some power hungry warlord blows it up. Here’s how fucked up our universe is: if we try to live in peace, our planet blows up and many of us will die. Or we can live a life of war, lose Saiyan lives, but eventually rule over the Galaxy. The cruel reality is that those with power reign supreme over all. So the only way to bring peace is to become the strongest in the universe and reign over all. If I was in the same position that Nasu was in, I’d hold the universe hostage too. Every living being that doesn’t have a drop of Saiyan blood in them along with those who are filthy traitors are our enemies!”
Tomina threw Maikeru up into the air as high as she could. She flew up after him shortly after, her hair blowing around in the wind as they went ever higher. Tomina caught up to him high above the ground, dangling him above the distant ground by holding him by his neck. She didn't squeeze hard enough to obstruct his breathing, but it was a firm grip nonetheless.
“I carry a burden of my own. I carry the fate of my race on my back. I’ve done everything for the sake of my fellow Saiyans my entire life. I had an opportunity to stand on top of everything, but I cast that aside for the greater good. I have fought many battles, swallowed my pride, and obeyed orders all for my comrades in arms. I don’t particularly care whether or not I become a God, but if it’s the best way for universal domination, then that’s the power I’ll obtain one day. If I go to hell for my actions when I die, then so be it. Nasu might lead us there one day, but we will all willingly go there if it will result in future generations of Saiyans ruling the galaxy. We will hold ours head high, knowing that we did everything we could for our race. That is the weight of our resolve, God. I doubt even you want peace enough to send your soul to eternal damnation.”
Now Tomina was gripping Maikeru’s throat tight enough to obstruct his breathing. The wind howled around them, the snow whirling around them as they hovered hundreds of feet in the air. She narrowed her eyes at him, her aura steadily getting stronger.
“I prayed to the heavens at one point in my life. Athren managed to put the Empire back together. I couldn’t return to the Empire due to my orders, so I helped in the only way I could. I prayed for the safety of my comrades. That they would be successful in restoring the Saiyan race to it glory. I had lost most of my family and friends during the Alliance-Empire war. So I thought to myself “surely whatever deity resides up there will show mercy. We suffered through so much already. Surely whoever was up there would listen.”
Tomina conjured fire in her hand, the flames licking away at the flesh of Maikeru’s neck. It wasn’t her signature hellfire, so it she wasn’t damaging him as much as she could. It was still a painful experience for the Kai to go through though.
“My prayers were unanswered though. Caesar invaded and crushed what was left of my comrades. The Saiyans that didn’t bow down to him he either killed, or handed them off to the Demon Queen to be used as lab rats in her experiments. You don’t know what it’s like to lose your family and friends over and over again. The Planet Trade Organization, The Kold Empire, The Saiyan Alliance, The Cerulean Empire, The Demon Queen. There’s always someone who takes away so much from us again and again. They’re all scum, and they won’t stop taking... taking...”
The fire scorching Maikeru’s skin fizzled and died out. Tomina let out a choked sob, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. She seemed to have completely broken down as they rolled down her cheeks, much like the tears made of blood that had gone down Maikeru’s. In an instant that sadness turned to anger, as she gripped Maikeru’s neck tighter than ever. Her eyes blazed with anger as a red aura blazed to life around her.
"YOU IGNORED OUR PRAYERS, YET YOU IMMEDIATELY CAME TO THE AID OF BRENCHIAN SLIME WHEN THEY NEEDED HELP! YOU SIDED WITH A RACE WHO ALSO ENSLAVES OTHER RACES! WITH A RACE THAT HAS KILLED COUNTLESS SAIYANS! A RACE THAT HAS ALWAYS ALLIED THEMSELVES WITH THOSE WHO HAVE DESTROYED OUR WORLD AGAIN AND AGAIN! AND YOU HAVE THE GALL TO TORMENT US MENTALLY TO TRY AND MAKE US FEEL REMORSE FOR THEM?! ROT IN THE DEEPEST PARTS OF HELL, YOU BLUE SKINNED FILTH!!!”
Tomina held Maikeru above her head and threw him towards the ground. Despite her rage though, she still realized that she couldn’t let him get injured too badly. He had already hurt himself pretty badly, and she didn’t know if hurting his mental construct would affect his physical body. Tomina disappeared in a blur, reappearing on the ground. She snatched Maikeru out of the air before he hit the ground, making sure his momentum completely stopped. She then unceremoniously tossed him into the snow in front of the chair Maikeru had been sitting in earlier. Tomina stormed over to the chair, sitting down and grinning down at him cruelty.
“You’ve had centuries to bring peace to the Universe, and you’ve failed. The Saiyan race has no need for a worthless God such as yourself. The rejuvenation tank is going to repair the damage you’ve done to yourself. And after that I’m going to take my time making you suffer. It’ll be a taste of what we Saiyans have suffered through, but even a taste is more agonizing than anything you’ve ever experienced. You’ll tell us everything we want to know. Only then will we end your miserable life. You helped the pawns of the Cerulean Empire and one of our oldest foes, and mentally tortured our people. I’ll make sure your punishment fits the scope of your heinous actions. Unless if you tell me what Nasu wants to know, NOW. If you do, I’ll give you that death you so desire. I’ll even make it painless for you. I hope you refuse though. I want to hear you beg for mercy before I extract the information from you.”
Tomina conjured a fireball in her hand, grinning maliciously at the Kai. The quick shifts in emotions made it look all the more unsettling. The tears from before were still clearly visible on her face. But before the hybrid Saiyaness could do anything to him, a blinding flash of light filled her vision. Suddenly she felt the cold, hard surface of the medical bay under her feet again.
Exterior Reality
“AGGGGH!” Tomina let out a cry of pain as her head sagged forward, covering her eyes with both her hands. The light had completely blinded her. Tomina couldn’t even sense energy, so she was practically helpless, despite being in her most advanced transformation. She stumbled forward, slamming against the tank that housed Maikeru. We’re under attack? We completely demolished our enemies on the battlefield though. So who be so bold as too attack our strongest fighters all at once?
The only conclusion Tomina came too wasn’t a pleasant one. Only one of their enemies hadn’t shown up for the battle on Brench. It seemed as though they had chosen now to launch an attack against them.
The Northern Kaioshin sat at the darkened table staring at the grey sky above. His posture began to slump in his chair. He could feel his body grow tired. It was going to be a painless death physically. But for Maikeru, his heart felt heavy having to resign himself in such a way. As much as he looked forward to millions of years raising and shepherding new civilizations he knew this was his last option. At least the gesture caused Laufey to scamper off to wherever he came from.
For all that the Kaioshin knew, he had no one on his side. The other Kaioshins have grown silent. Since his birth from the tree, Maikeru had never even met another kai outside of Jarvis catastrophe at the Check-In Station. Whis and Lagerus were too busy with whatever stroked the God of Destruction’s fancy at the time; most likely a new food on a distant planet somewhere. The grand kai had been missing for a while now. Even Mar, who Maikeru only heard of in passing, was nowhere to be found. Brench was Mar’s responsibility.
But the Northern Kaioshin would not hold it against them. Maikeru was a bit different from the other Kaioshins. Making a public appearance to a power-hungry madman was unheard of in the eyes of the gods. The blue-skinned Shinjin knew, however, that no one would stand up for the Brenchians in their time of need and he was right. Maikeru stuck his neck out for what he believed was right and was now paying for that choice, a choice he would make a million times over.
The Shinjin shook his head with a smirk.
“Lagerus is going to be pissed,” he remarked to himself. “Well, what does that matter? It’s not like Lagerus or Whis would understand. All that woman cares about is what is next on the menu. Most likely the God of Destruction would destroy Maikeru if doing so did not disturb the “natural balance”. And Whis honestly wouldn’t bat an eye if any race, planet or even the entire universe was destroyed.”
“So why are you going to kill yourself?” Maikeru inquired to his own person out loud. This was a world within his own mind. Any form of inner dialogue would be “out loud” in this psychic plane. “What’s the point of throwing your life away for mortals who want to kill or torture you and gods who don’t care?”
“Because...” Maikeru answered himself as he stared at the poisonous cup. “...hope only fails when no one is willing to stand for what is right.”
Maikeru reached down to refill the tea cup a second time. A second helping of the dark beverage would surely finish the job; forever sealing away his secrets from Nasu or any other mortal who would take advantage of the Northern Kaioshin’s weakened state.
With a burst of surprise Maikeru was lifted up by his collar and slammed down upon the table. The very foundations of the world momentarily blurred as his mind clouded from the pain. Maikeru tiredly looked out of the corner of his eye to see who had attacked him.
It was one of the Saiyan warriors from the invasion of Brench. Her mouth kept spewing a river of anger and frustration at the young god. Irate would be an understatement for the Elemi-Saiyan hybrid. Apparently something about the visions the Shinjin produced for her during her invasion struck a deep nerve with this woman.
“I wasn’t trying to subjugate y---” Maikeru couldn’t even get a word in. Tomina continued her assault by pressing the god’s head into the table causing it to crack. With each strike the woman dealt to Maikeru the smaller the psychic construction of the Sacred World became. It was like pieces of earth slowly vanishing into black.
Soon Tomina invoked her control of the elements and channeled heat into Maikeru himself. The scorching flame seared the skin of his mental body. The Shinjin grit his teeth in pain before being tossed into the air. The Saiyan hybrid gripped Maikeru in her clenched hand and suspended him above the snowy ground. The snowfall quickly became a blizzard as night began to roll in.
As Tomina gripped his neck, Maikeru whispered, “It’s okay….Let it out..L-l-let all of your anger out….*cough*....I can take it.”
Maikeru was unsure if Tomina could hear him through the rage that was swallowing her entire being. The young Shinjin knew that he was far too young to be directly responsible for what had happened over the years for this woman. But that was one of the unspoken purposes of a god that Nasu, Jarvis or any other aspiring false "god" will never understand. That the gods bear the weight for the pains of life they aren’t even responsible for. If his final moments could allow this strange woman a moment’s peace then so be it.
The woman tossed the wounded Shinjin into the snow. Maikeru struggled to return to his feet as she continued to preach to him about his supposed failures, her pain, and then followed up by threats to gain whatever knowledge Nasu was looking for. Tomina wanted him to beg for mercy. All of these harsh and painful words flew at Maikeru as he limped towards her. Seeing her conjure a ball of flame did not deter his advancement. She awaited the Shinjin’s answer to her violent threats.
And then, stumbling, Maikeru threw his arms around her as she continued to sit in her chair. The Shinjin hung from her neck and shoulders as his knees fell into the snow. With a calm and caring look on his face Maikeru just stared into the Elemi-Saiyan’s eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Maikeru said as he rested his forehead against Tomina’s. “I am sorry for all of the pain and loneliness you had to suffer. I pray that one day you can find peace in your heart.”
As the snow continued to fall harder the Shinjin brushed his fingertips through Tomina’s hair with a gentle touch. He continued to stare into her tearful eyes.
“I love you,” Maikeru said with a generous smile. And before he could see how his words sat with her, Tomina vanished into thin air. Without her to lean on, Maikeru fell down into the snow next to the chair she vacated.
The Shinjin crawled back into the chair and looked at the broken table. With a quick swipe of his fingers, the mental construction of the table and the tea set were miraculously good-as-new. With weak hands he began to prepare a second cup of tea. It would take a moment for Maikeru to gather enough energy to finish the job but it was only a matter of time.
Interrupting him; from high above a small burst of golden light cut through the dark clouds. A ray of this brilliance cascaded momentarily upon Maikeru. The Northern Kaioshin could hear a disembodied voice echo over the snowy landscape. A female’s voice that was hard to make out before the light faded away.
Maikeru heard Kinoko’s plea with confused eyes. He had heard that voice before, but his breaking mind had a hard time to discern it. Apparently she begged for him to stay his own hand. Maikeru looked around and saw the once beautiful planet around him now was a small island of broken earth in a sea of darkness. The only thing left in this psychic plane was the table with the tea set, a small patch of white-covered ground and the rapid snow fall. The rest was an endless void of nothingness.
Well.
Maikeru did not mind waiting for a few moments. He needed more time to allow the tea to settle first anyways.

Laufey was working hard on keeping the Kaioshin alive by increasing the healing pace of the medical tank in order to counter his attempt on suicide, while, at the very same time making sure Tomina was able to remain inside of his head. Of course Laufey was still hearing to everything they were talking about as he wouldn’t miss such a marvelous opportunity, but this time he was making his presence unknown. The most important piece of information he gathered was that there was a God of Destruction and that the Kaioshin’s death would piss her off. It was incredible to say the least when he said he loved Tomina even though he had every reason to hate them all at this point. ”Weird little creatures, those so called gods. But I wonder what is a God of Destruction. Seems very frightening, but is it strong?” he wondered and, if anything, he would rather have Nasu finding that out.
But before he could do anything else, a bright light blinded him so much that it severed the link in between him, Tomina and Maikeru. Laufey screamed in pain and touched his eyes, unable to see anything and feeling even stunned by the amount of pain that sudden light brought. At the same time, Negi suppressed his power level until it vanished from anyone with ki sense other than Karota, who was very well trained in both sensing and suppressing and, approaching the healing machine, he opened it quickly and took Maikeru onto his arms once again, being as silent as he could about it. ”Thank you, Kinoko. I’m really screwed after this, but whatever…” he thought, hoping she would still be able to read his mind.
In the next second, Negi had already taken the skies, flying as fast as he could while still suppressing his ki energy. It was basically impossible to detect him now and, once he was out of their reach he spoke to the Kaioshin. ”Kaioshin, please suppress your energy! I will take you to my ship and we can flee this planet. I won’t let you be hurt anymore and I’m sorry I couldn’t do something sooner… Hehe… I’m doomed now, but… I don’t regret it at all. Nasu will probably arrest me or kill me if he finds me, that’s why we need to be quick!” he said it one more time, sighing deeply as he headed towards the ship he left hidden among the ruins of the brenchian capital on purpose; he knew he probably wouldn’t be sticking around after his revenge.
Karota, at the same time, didn’t really mind in pursuing Negi, she was more troubled by Miso. ”Negi, I hope you understand what you just did… I’m sorry, kiddo, but later on I will have to fight you most likely…” she thought to herself with grief.

<Don't worry about Nasu, I'll deal with him. Get him out of here as fast as you can. Thank you Negi. Be safe...> she told him telepathically as she finally brought her arms down as the light died down. She looked at the destroyed tank and smiled inwardly. Her gaze then traveled to Tomina and the Kold Demon and she forced herself to look far less impressed.
"And none of you thought to go after him? I shouldn't have to do everything myself. You, Laufey, call me back here immediately if he wakes up." She said with a head nod towards Hakobe's chamber. She then wasted no time in flaring her ki aura around herself and taking off the same way Negi had just gone, seemingly to chase him down and take the Kaioshin back. Truthfully it would be a facade still... but it needed to look like she at least tried to get the Kai back as her mate would want.
<You'll need to be fast, I'm... ah!> Kinoko had to stop mid flight, bringing her hands up to her head as her mental connection to Negi was severed rather forcefully. She had never felt a mental push like that before! She groaned as she clutched her head tightly, her nose actually starting to bleed from the sheer amount of pressure in the saiyaness' head... just what had broke her off from Negi??
Lord Lagerus was currently perched on top of the very ship Negi had hidden away for a quick escape, tapping her fingers on her bicep with a rather frustrated expression on her face. This was truly annoying... the biggest pain in her ass in millenia! Of all the foolish things newly created Kai's could do, this was by far one of the most foolish... the only thing she hated more than Maikeru's actions was the actions of the previous Eastern Supreme Kai...
"One jumps into the clutches of the demon god and the other... jumps in the face of someone who wants to be one... then coming down here without a guardian? At all? Idiot... moron... I should force him to cook for me for the rest of his life... just like that idiot Kai I gave to the Eastern Kai and his guardian... seems like a decent punishment... what do you think Whis?" Lagerus ranted, finally asking the angel for his opinion. Whis however had his back turned to Lagerus, one hand clutching his staff and a box of sweet treats, and the other stuffing the treats down his maw silently to not attract Lagerus' attention. When he was asked what he thought of her plan though, he simply nodded with a muffled "MHM" as he quickly hid the box from Lagerus once more, finally turning to face her.
They could both sense Negi's approach, no matter how low they had their power levels. Negi wouldn't be able to sense them though, so no doubt it would startle the young saiyan when he would see them perched on his ship. whenever he got there, Lagerus finally pushed herself up to her feet as she looked down to the Saiyan.
"We'll make this short. You will give me the idiot you are carrying, and you will continue on your way kid."
