Tomina stood on the floor of her Dojo, her shoes pressing against the hard wood floor as she closed her eyes. She was concentrating on mastering being able to sense energy. For the longest time, she had intentionally not learn how to do that. After recents though, she decided that it was an ability that she really couldn’t go without. Fortunately, it didn’t take her long to learn it. At this point she could clearly sense people around her. Okay then, now I can tell who’s who. I am a bit worried how this will affect my fighting style. At this point I don’t judge someone’s strength by what I can sense, so I should be fine.
Tomina then opened her eyes, taking a fighting stance and lifting her fists up in front of her as she prepared to practice on a dummy. This Dojo had once been the Brenchian Academy. Now it was where Tomina hoped to revive the Vegetean style of fighting. She had the second flow modified into living quarters, so she lived right above her own dojo. It seemed the most appropriate to throw one style into obscurity by bringing back one that had practically been forgotten. The Soy school became the dominant style that Saiyans used after the fall of the Empire. The Cerulean Empire had all but eliminated the Vegetean style and replaced it with their own foul arts. Although now was the start of a few era. Everyone else would fade into oblivion.
Tomina pressed all her fingers together, turning her hand over and examining it. Time sure had gone by. Sometimes she felt like learned those techniques a day or a week ago. The memories on how she aquired them were always so vivid whenever she looked back on them. She thought back to when she first started learning this style, back when life was simple for her.
Ten Years Ago: Planet Vegeta
Whack! Whack! Wham! Tomina delivered two chops to her opponent's ribs and a punch to his face in quick succession. He went down quickly, her blow having knocked him out cold before he hit the ground. Tomina would have gone further and hurt him more severely, but Karen was there watching her. So she contented herself with kicking him next to three more idiotic Saiyans who had decided to attack her. A few of them had very choice words about her parentage. Tomina didn’t bother arguing with them anymore: she just beat the crap out of anyone who tried. Tomina walked away, although Karen stared back at the Saiyans, frowning at them.
“Was breaking that one’s ribs really necessary? I know they weren’t being exactly civil to you, but they are our comrades you know.”
Tomina snorted, not even bothering to turn around to look at her friend.
“They’re on our side Karen. I don’t consider people who call me things like tailless rat and half breed my comrades. They called you a pile of trash too, so you shouldn’t be so quick to defend them. Besides, I didn’t break that guy's ribs.”
“Yeah… but…” Karen sighed, running over to catch up to her friend. They were on one of the training grounds that lay just outside the city. Tomina and Karen had come here to practice some moves, but some undesirables found their location. A puzzled look spread across Karen’s face as she realized something.
“You used the rib breaker technique though. That should have…"
“I tried to do the rib breaker. I’ve never been taught the proper arts, so I’ve put it together from what I’ve seen in the field. I’ve got the movements down right. Although I can’t figure out how to actually break ribs. I’m more the good enough to be taught the school arts! They refuse to teach me because I’m a halfbreed!”
“You don’t know that for sure…”
“YES I DO!” Tomina snapped at Karen, causing her to let out a little whimper and grab her own tail. Which was something she did as a force of habit in order to calm herself down when scared. Tomina signed, shaking her head as Karen’s hands returned to her sides.
“I’m sorry Karen. It’s just that mission to Natto…. I could have done a lot more if I was properly trained in the arts. Maybe not enough to have turned the battle in our favor, but I could have done so much more damage then I actually did. Even that successful retcon recently can’t get the taste of Natto out of my mouth.”
Karen just reached out and simply patted Tomian’s shoulder a couple of times. Tomina looked over at her, giving her a small smile.
“Consoling someone isn’t very Saiyan like, you know.”
“Neither is complaining about where you’re at all the time. Just succeed more and I won’t have to console you.”
“Haha.”
Tomina rolled their eyes, and they both flew up into the air and headed back towards the city. They made it back to Tomina's Residence , which was essentially a glorified apartment room. It was crowded in with a bunch of other Saiyans living there, and wasn’t a very nice place to live in. Tomina unlocked her door, and they both went inside. Little did she know that her life was about to change forever.

The door opened at the younger brother of the Saiyan Queen appeared there with a serious expression on his face. He was wearing his traditional armor of the saiyan army and seemed to be quite annoyed in a sense as he sighed deeply and sharply as he entered the room, staring at the two women there. ”You should probably think about moving. This place is awful.” his tone was serious and he spoke as he stared at the place with a mild disgust in his eyes. Then, he stared back at the hybrid.
”Anyway, I’m here because of you, so, get properly dressed and by that I mean a saiyan armor and follow me. It’s an order from the queen.” Redis was clearly irritated to be tasked with this job as it made him feel like a delivery boy and he hated it. He was a Commandant of the Saiyan Empire and he deserved more important tasks than to babysit whatever thing Tomina was.

Tomina was as stunned as Karen looked right now. She was rubbing her eyes to make sure that this was real starring in the figure in the doorway in awe. Tomina was quicker to react properly, standing at attention with Karin following suit shortly after. She also managed to keep her face neutral so far, which was no easy task. This was unheard of: Commander Redis was the brother of the Queen and a high level commander. Yet here he was coming down here to directly give her order from the Queen. Tomina blinked as it fully registered. The Queen was ordering her for a summoning! Tomina could hear her heart pounding in her ears as she responded to Redis’s orders.
“Sir, moving to a better place is a work in progress! I’ll get changed immediately!”
Tomina saluted him, before turning on her heel and walking briskly into her bedroom. As she closed the door, Karin made the same salute that Tomina did.
“Sir!”
Karin turned and walked towards the closed door. She tapped her knuckle against the frame of the door. She looked down, and saw Tomina’s shadow from the other side coming out underneath the door frame. They both spoke quietly for one another.
“What did you do?!”
“It could be a good thing!”
“You do crazy things whenever I turn my back on you! Seriously, what did you do?!”
“I didn’t do anything!”
“You must have done something!”
“I didn’t do anything warranting a summoning!”
Tomina came out 30 seconds later wearing the standard issue armor she had been given. She stood back at attention in front of Redis again, while Karin did the same right next to her.
“Ready to report to the Palace, sir!”
Tomina sounded a lot more confident than she actually was right now. She was very cocky by nature, but the Queen was in a realm of her own. She would show nothing but respect to her and the elite who worked directly under her.

Redis seemed to be rather irritated. He would hammer the finger on his arms, with them folded in front of his chest piece. He sighed deeply, stomping his feet a bit, showing impatience. He wanted to get the hell away from this wretched place she called her apartment as soon as it was possible. When she was ready to go he sighed in relief and rolled his eyes in his orbits. ”Took your time, didn’t you?” he said in a bitter tone.
Then, without waiting any more second, he flared his ghostly white ki aura and flew straight towards the Saiyan Palace, in the center of the Capital. Redis was fast and he seemed particularly determined to get back to his home as fast as possible. He would allow Tomina to follow him, though, as he didn’t feel like backtracking at all.

Tomina didn’t waste any time once Redis took off. Tomina’s own aura blazed to life around her as she shot off after Redis. He was moving at a ridiculously fast pace, but she was able to keep sight of him and continue moving on. Although it wouldn’t be too problematic if she did lose sight of him. She knew where he was going after all. It was impossible to miss the palace. Tomina called out to him, asking him something she was curious about.
“Sir, I was wondering why you were sent to inform me. Surely some lower ranking Saiyans could have taken me there. Forgive me if this question is out of line, but the situation is rather… strange to me.”
Tomina was not this polite with the vast majority of people. Although she was smart enough to know that high ranking individuals did not appreciate being talked to in a crude manner. They were superior to anyone beneath the, so it expected to treat them with respect. Tomina was still wondering why she was summoned to the palace. Although it was better to wait until she got there to find out. You weren’t supposed to question orders: you obeyed them and didn’t ask questions. The word “why” was essentially taboo in the context of mission briefings.

”Because the queen ordered me to. It’s not my place to question her orders, and you would be wise to follow this advice: whatever Queen Lettis asks of you, oblige. You are not special, don’t think you are. Very few are special to the queen and those who are, earn it. No one is born with her favor, not even her kin. So be smart, girl.” Redis tone was bitter, but he was being helpful and that much could be noticed. If Tomina was perceptive enough, she could probably see that his anger was not directed towards the hybrid elemi girl, it was mostly with things that affected himself; he hated being used as an errand boy, especially because he was, after all, a Commandant of the Saiyan Empire.
In any case, the Palace was already at sight and they would be arriving there shortly.

Tomina stared incredulously at Redis. If he was going out of his way to make it clear that you didn’t question the Queen, then that could mean only one thing. Although it was so crazy that she didn’t believe it at first.
“Sir, I thought that it was clear to everyone. I’m only eight years old, and even I know that you don’t question Queen Lettis’s orders. Her word is the absolute law. Has someone been actually stupid enough to defy her orders before? Other than the traitorous alliance. They’re going to get what’s coming to them one day.”
Tomina noted that Redis was definitely angry at something. Although she didn’t do anything to set him off to that degree. It wasn’t her place to question things though, so she just let it go. Besides, she was having to deal with the sour taste of the Alliance in her mouth. [font color=Crimson Those Saiyans deserve to rot in the deepest parts of hell for their treachery. We would have conquered the Galaxy by now if they hadn’t betrayed us. That cursed Natto broke off from the empire and took as many Saiyans as he could with him. We’re weaker because of him, and we’re losing planets to the PTO. Selfish bastard wanted his own little faction to rule.[/font]
Tomina was made even more angry by the fact that their campaign against them a year ago had ended in failure. Tomina managed to get out of it alive, but many of their troops died and their commanding officer had been captured. They were further weakened by this, which in turn allowed their other enemies to slowly but surely take back the planets that they had worked so hard to conquer. One day their enemies would pay for all the Saiyan lives lost. Especially the wretched scum in the Alliance.
Those thoughts were banished from her head for the moment when the palace came into view. It was quite an impressive structure to behold. It was huge, it’s towers and spires rising high into the air. Tomina still couldn’t believe that she was going there. What exactly would be in store for her?

The duo arrived at the impressive and oppressive Saiyan Palace in the heart of the Capital City. The guards there immediately kneeled to Commandant Redis, showing him respect and he nodded to them, showing some degree of camaraderie. He walked through the front gates, leading them to a very large hall, once there, he turned around to stare back at Tomina. "Well, here we are. My job is done. The Queen is awaiting you in the throne room. I advise you to head there at once and... Good luck." he said, cracking whatever smile he could, trying to show her some sympathy as he knew very well her next days wouldn't be easy.

It was one thing to see the Royal Palace from a distance. It was quite another to actually be in the middle of it all. It loomed over the young hybrid, and was just so massive up close. Tomina was completely awed by the splendor of everything around her, and they hadn’t even gotten inside of the palace yet. She had the good sense to bow to the other guards there and give them respect before following Redis into the main hall. Which was also the most impressive thing she had ever seen in her life. Tomina had no doubt that it would only keep on getting more and more lavish the further they went in. Tomina looked over at Redis, her eyes staring at him in disbelief as he told her who exactly had summoned her here.
“Queen Lettis asked for me personally? She asked for me?
Tomina had presumed that some higher ranking member had summoned her here. She had no idea that the Queen herself was the one who called her here. Queen Lettis called her out by name! Tomina gave Redis another respectful bow of her head.
“I won’t keep her waiting sir!”
Tomina walked briskly off towards the throne will, doing her best to hurry along while also looking professional about it. She didn’t want to look like a very ill behaved child and just run through the palace. Granted she was an ill behaved child, but that was besides the point. Tomina entered the throne room, walking towards the figure on the throne. She had no idea what to expect once she actually got close enough to see the legend.

Redis sighed yet again when she asked him about the queen's summon and he folded his arms in front of his chest, showing his annoyance. "Yes, she did. But don't go on thinking highly of yourself yet." and with those words, he finally turned around and left the Palace, leaving Tomina to pursue the queen on her own.
In any case, as she entered the throne room she could see Lettis sitting on the throne with a bored expression on her face. She was sitting in a slouched position with her head resting against her right clenched fist. By her side, standing proudly was Chanceller Rukko, the third strongest saiyan in the Empire and effectively the second in command. He was absurdly tall, even more so than Miso, who was considered one of the tallest saiyans in the Empire. Rukko had big black and wild mane. He had scars all over his face together with war paint. He had a very traditional battle suit with guards all over the place, and nothing else but his armored gloves, boots and battle pants. His tail, however, wasn’t wrapped around his waist, but left loose on his back. He had a cruel and bloodthirsty smile on his face, almost like if he was pleased with what was going on.
Lettis didn't say a word, but he did.
Rukko [Power Level: 350,000]
"Took your damn time. Huhuhu. I feel like breaking every single one of your limbs for that, you brat! Huhuhuhu. But the queen says otherwise, so... It will only happen within my thoughts... For now at least. Huhuhuhu." and even though he was teading her, it was pretty clear he truly meant every word he said.

Tomina soon found herself in the presence of legends. Yes legends with a plural. Not only was Lettis sitting on her throne there, but Chanceller Ruko was standing there next to her. Ruko was one of the strongest Saiyans in the Empire. He also had a very brutal reputation, which was something that came standard for all the notable Saiyans in the Empire. Although Ruko was definitely one of the most brutal high level Saiyans that existed. He certainly looked the part for that reputation. He was an absolute giant, towering over everyone in the room. When he spoke to her, she stood at attention and saluted him.
"Sir, I apologize for the delay! It will not happen again! If I step out of line, then you'll most certainly get the opportunity to break my limbs!"
Tomina could tell that Ruko wasn't joking when he said that he wanted to break her for coming in tardy. It would certainly be a painful experience, there was no doubt about that. Although he was going to need a lot more if he actually wanted to intimate someone who had been in otherworld conflicts since the age of 5. Tomina managed to keep her tone neutral while also keeping her signature confidence intact. She didn't want to come off as a kiss-ass, but didn't want to seem defiant or undisciplined either. Hopefully she managed to pull that off in this case. Broken limbs would be the best case scenario if she messed up here.
Tomina then turned to the Queen, immediately kneeling before the legend herself. She was both feeling excitement and dread. Lettis was the kind of person that you did not mess with. One wrong move would bring instant regret for the rest of one's life. Assuming that their life lasted long enough for them to regret it. She bowed her head before speaking to the Queen.
"Private Tomina reporting for duty, your majesty! I'm willing and ready to everything I can for the Empire! It's an honor just being in your presence!"
Tomina did her absolute best to keep her excitement from showing. Queen Lettis was Tomina's idol and aspirations. She wanted her own legends to be written about her, to be respected and feared like Lettis was. She was who Tomina looked up to in her darker moments. Although she wasn't going to say that out loud to her. It wasn't even remotely professional to say anything that would essentially translate to "I am your biggest fan."
Queen Lettis was very tough for her to read. Normally she was able to pick up on people's expression and posture. But Lettis had simply looked bored, from what she had seen There was nothing that Tomina could really work with there. Even if she could, she wasn't going to even try to read Lettis. It wasn't her subjects place to guess what was going on inside of her head.

Lettis didn’t say a single word. She just stared at Tomina with a bored expression on her face. Instead of her, the Chanceler was the one who would be doing the talking, at least for the time being. ”And you talk a lot too, huhuhu… Maybe I should rip off your tongue next time you keep on justifying your shit!” he said, licking his own lips with the sole thought of that action.
”In any case, and against my best advice, the Queen is willing to take you into her Royal Guard. You should feel proud and grateful that a mutt such as you was even considered to that. But… In order to do that, you need to show your worth, and if you show yourself to be at least somewhat useful, you will be trained. If not… Well… It has been three days since the last time I killed someone… Huhuhuhu…” he further teased her.

Queen Lettis sure knew how to keep someone in suspense. She hadn’t said a single word to Tomina at all yet. There was no indication on her face of what she was thinking, other than the very obvious “I’d rather be doing anything else” expression on her face. Ruko was acting as her mouth, and was giving her the standard threats so far. Tomina wasn’t bothered by them though. Oh, she had no doubt that he would kill her without hesitation if she did step out of line. But constant threats of death were just a part of Saiyan culture. Not to mention that being a hybrid had put a target on her back, which resulted in a very large amount of threats being thrown her way. Sometimes fists were thrown along with the words. So as long as she didn’t do anything stupid, she would stay alive through this.
Tomina could swear she felt her heart stop when Ruko told her that the Queen had selected her as a candidate to become a Royal Guard? Of all the things she expected to happen in here, this was not even on her list of possible outcomes of this meeting. So many thoughts were racing through her mind right now that it was almost impossible to get a grip on them. Tomina did her best to ignore her racing heart, and responded in what she hope was a fairly professional way. It was hard for her to tell since she seemed to have been left tone deaf by the news she had just received. She was certain it come out well though.
“I… I’m honored that I was chosen to be one of the Royal Guards. What kind of blood running through my veins doesn’t matter as long as I get results. I’m ready to show my worth no matter what you throw my way.”
Tomina had stuttered slightly at the beginning, but corrected herself very quickly. Her face showed no trace of fear on it, even though it sounded nervous for a brief moment. Tomina was so used to deal with bad things happening to her all the time that she legitimately didn’t know how to react when something good happened to her. In a weird way, it was fortunate that Ruko decided to call her a mutt. That was something she knew how to respond to and dealt with often. If he hadn’t had poked at the fact that she was a hybrid, then it would have been harder for her to respond to this good news. Things probably would not have ended well if it had played out that way.

"You will not be speaking to the Queen until we make sure you are indeed a worthy material, so you are to start your training right at this second. Still, bugs me why our majesty wanted to see your ugly mutt smug, huhuhu... It's not in my place to question the Queen." Rukko said, shrugging it off, but then, against all odds, Lettis spoke. Her tone didn't have the slightest brink of interest, and yet she found herself enough motivation to speak. "Question me, Chanceller, and you die. Simple as that." she said before falling into silence again and that made Rukko laugh out loud. "Huhuhuhuhu! That's my Queen. Now..." he stared back at Tomina with his one remaining eye. "I couldn't help but notice that you have no tail. I wonder how you will be using the Vegetean arts now. But that's none of my business. Go to the training grounds of the Palace at once. Someone will meet you there." he ordered.
Base [x+1/x+0], Enrage [x2], Mastered Power [x5], Super Elemi [x13], Attuned Super Elemi [x20], Unleashed Super Elemi [x32/x24], Mastered Super Elemi [x35], True Elemental [x45], False God [x56/x55] True God [x60]
It looked as though Rukko wasn’t going to kill her. He was still throwing out insults at her, which was very annoying. But she didn’t let him get to her. People had looked down at her all her life due to her status as a hybrid. Arguing against it was pointless. The only to make them stop was to become better then them. Rukko was far beyond her level currently, and a high ranking official in the Empire. All she could do was just sit there and take it. One day she would surpass him though. Then he could never look down on her again.
Then to her surprise, the Queen actually decided to say something! Unfortunately it wasn’t really aimed at her, but rather at Ruko as a warning. Amazingly, she managed to sound completely bored while saying this. Like it was completely normal for her to threaten to kill one of her strongest fighters on a whim. Tomina was starting to get very strange impression of everything. Is that what happens when you become as strong as she is? There isn’t anyone in the Empire who could take her on in a one on one fight. The amount of people who can hold their own against her can be counted on one hand. I never thought there would actually be a downside to becoming stronger than everyone else.
Ruko then managed to touch the one sensitive subject matter when it came to her heritage. While she didn’t mind people throwing insults at her, she hated it whenever someone brought up the fact that she didn’t have a tail. If it weren't for the vein throbbing on her forehead, one would assume she was as cool as a cucumber when she replied to Ruko.
“There’s only one move that requires me to have a tail in the Vegetan Arts. I’m confident I can master every other move. There’s no point in worrying about that move until I master everything else, so why focus on it? I’ll now take my leave Chancler Ruko, Queen Lettis.”
Tomina bowed to each of them in turn, then turned and walked out of the throne room. She didn’t know where the training grounds were though. So she asked one of the palace guards just outside the throne room doors. He gave her a look of disdain, but told her where to find it. Tomina was to be trained because the Queen ordered it. And he wasn't going to go against one of her orders.
Tomina made her way to the training grounds, fuming all the way. She hated the fact that she didn’t have a tail. She had been born without one from the start, and it caused nothing but problems. It made her an easy target for abuse from her peers when she was younger, and it meant she couldn’t transform into a great ape. One of the greatest advantages the Vegetan style had was that a skilled user could use them to transform into the Great Ape at will. But that was absolutely worthless to Tomina. This more than anything else made her feel like damaged goods. Still, she was determined to press forward and prove her worth regardless. She made it to the training grounds, her head turning from side to side as she looked around for the person who would be waiting for her.
