Things were getting weird down there, huh?
Her hands were over her forehead, blocking out her surroundings as she focused on the darkening clouds over in the distance. Compared to the clear skies that were over here, and threatening to wipe that away, it wasn't a pretty sight. Just what were the others even doing down there? There were lots of power levels gathered in one place.
Those she knew, and those she didn't know. The latter was always more interesting, and never failed to bring a smile to her face, wondering if this sort were friendly, or if they would have to follow their leader's orders to attack this new group. Her eyes glanced over at the others, as they sat on the mansion that was placed here.
The ship was nearby for them to leave if they wanted. One of two, anyway. It was amazing how quickly earth had become a battlefield for forces they didn't know. How many people who likely loss their lives, not knowing how to fight.
Not being like them. There was a side of her that wished she could have saved them, but they all had those kind of thoughts, didn't they? Those blue eyes of the pig-tailed red-head running around with the amber ones of the brunette, hadn't really been as happy as it was now. It was hard to see without good vision, but the former's eyes were puffy.
She had to leave her family behind. Had begged her to save them, even though that kind of thing was easier said than done. They probably could have done so. She probably could have sped over and saved all their parents.
But orders had to be followed, didn't they? There was leg room not to follow it completely, but she trusted her sire was aware of what she was doing, choosing to keep them safe, and ignore the families they had still living around.
The brunette's own family was there as well, and while they weren't really mentioned, she knew the Matriarch cared about them, just like everyone else here carried about theirs. It didn't need to be said, to be seen.
Though she knew some of the others wanted to hear it themselves. She shifted her body from the rooftop, turning and landing her eyes onto the other red-head of the group, who sat near the door of the mansion, sliding through what looked to be old photos. For someone who kept scowling, and bossed them around so much, there was a lot the girl didn't tell their head Vampire, that she told them. How the brunette was always going to have some humanity intact.
But it wasn't really that clear, was it? If the Vampire's eyes weren't deeply glowing, as she walked around what was supposed to be times of peace, she kept herself in the gravity room, only coming out whenever she was needed.
Neither were really friendly interactions, as one involved pushing what their body could take, while the other quickly resolved a small issue she and the others couldn't handle on their own, despite them grouping together.
It wouldn't have been as fun if they could though, right? The red-head below her had glanced up, shooting a glare, which she had only waved at, before turning her gaze elsewhere. There was nothing to really worry for.
What the Matriarch did, she did with reason. If they had to kill, then so be it. If she didn't want them to tag along, then why argue knowing it wasn't going to take long anyway? The lack of darkening skies had said as much.
Was proof. Something which the Saiyan probably looked for the most. Though with her having gone off with their queen, the best substitute was the other raven-haired girl in their group, who sat on the ground reading manga.
Maybe it was their like minded hair, or because she had fought less than all of them, but the Saiyan tended to bother her friend the most, whenever she was here. Never had she met someone so hesitant, before meeting her friend.
Proof that the Vampire was still the strongest, was the reason why the Saiyan stuck around. Her people didn't really interest her as much as it should have, which was pretty crazy, though at the same time, did make sense.
Being around something that familiar, would really throw anyone off after awhile. She knew the girl liked to fight, and they were enough of a variety to keep things interesting as they all grew together in power.
Getting the chance to see something like a Super Saiyan 2, or an equivalent by one of the others, was something they were supposed to appreciate. It wasn't an easy climb, and they were provided with ways to do it that others on earth didn't remotely even get the chance to do. Wouldn't ever get the chance to do. Not without some miracle.
A sigh had escaped her, as she decided to lie back against the roof, almost the twitching of her friend's body. There was a shift in the air with all of those power levels down there. A lot of them having the habit of rising.
Man, they must really be preoccupied down there, huh? She thought back to the strongest she had fought that wasn't the Vampire herself, and could only trace back to the planet of yeti-like aliens they picked up the Kold Demon from.
She couldn't beat the thing on her own, of course, but why would she? There was no harm in doing it together, and it looked much cooler combining their attacks anyway. Was any of that going on right now?
Closing her eyes, she could clearly feel the energy of her allies down there, their head Vampire unsurprisingly being at her best, while the others were doing similar. Even the lavender-haired Vampire had powered up.
Oh wow. There was no real rumbling going on, so guess they were still following the rules around here. Would have been pretty cool though. Things were always a better time when it felt like they had to test what they knew.
To show off if they had made any improvements. It was one of the things the brunette wanted to see from them. Expected to see from them, really. That was at least one thing she could agree on with the others.
So many plans had been cancelled because she hadn't been strong enough. Thinking about it now, actually hurt. But she was a happy person. The one who was still able to smile, even when the others just weren't able to.
That wasn't going to be something that would ever change. She knew some of them would blame it on the brunette siring her, and it wasn't something she would say wasn't a possibility. But maybe it would also have to do with how she didn't really have that big of a goal like the others. They wanted to do more with their lives, and she had just been fine with being a Vampire. It was hard to tell, really. Though putting thoughts into how they lived, usually would.
Nothing much had really changed, when she had opened her eyes again, and sat back up, beyond the others moving around. They were only really out here in the first place, to take a load off from what was going on with earth.
With how long their leader was taking, she didn't blame them from going back in the mansion, or into one of the two massive spaceships. Hopping off of the roof, where her raven-haired friend was still reading, she had swiped away the manga, bringing about an expression of shock from the other girl. Who could resist smiling at that?
"Wanna play tag for a bit?"
A sigh had been the response from the shy girl, who stared at the book she carefully held in her hands. Though she might have been seeing a lack of enthusiasm right now, she knew her friend well enough to read her.
"Sure...why not?"
How the girl likely hadn't moved from her spot, since getting the chance to start this book, knowing how they had been too busy evacuating from earth. The cheeky grin on her face, had only widened as the girl had accepted.
Placing the book back into the hands of her raven-haired friend, she was already dashing away, the sight of their nearest massive spaceship, as a target on where she would try her best to go and avoid the girl.
If things around here was as bad as people assumed they were, she wouldn't be enjoying herself right now, being able to run from her friend like this, and act a lot younger than the high school students they actually were. But fairness didn't need to be seen, to know it was there. It was faith alone, even if she was the one carrying it, that mattered.
She just wished the others felt the same.
