She understood what the others had meant now.
How the power they had was meant to be consequential, unlike the others beings they had met. That becoming a Matriarch would start messing with her head, and have her thinking more about their own kind, and paying less attention to others. She just didn't want to believe it would be so overwhelming.
They apparently dealt and felt it in different ways, but with her, she felt nothing but moving warmth in her head. One that only really went away, when she had her eyes on someone like Amalga, Ayumi, or one of the other Matriarchs. They were practically all sisters now, just from sharing that title together.
And Rukia was their queen. She had thought that Natsumi was a persistent one, when she and the silver-haired girl had first met, but that really changed after meeting the brunette. The girl willingly carried so many burdens, even though she had started out just like them, with wanting something simple when she had turned. But she guessed they were all kind of different now, after gaining this power. Had more responsibilities that they didn't really want.
"You guys feel that, right?"
With a small plop, as she briefly pulled out the sucker she was slowly eating, the ki signature of their queen, had all of a sudden accessed the strength of a Matriarch. It didn't feel like the girl was really moving around, and since becoming an Antediluvian, it wasn't like there were many who would give her trouble. About all of earth, had practically evacuated to the Kold Demon's home planet, so anyone who was still around, were really just the weird ones.
The only thing that didn't really change, since becoming a Matriarch, was how leisure her tone of voice was. She spoke loud enough for the others in the next room to hear her though, as she lied here in the living room, eyes not taken off of the Bio-Android, who had been turned into their kin by the queen.
"Is mother in trouble?"
"No, she should be fine."
The slightest of a smile appeared on her face, seeing the Vampire tense up, her wings slightly rising with the creation's shoulders. Chu. Their eyes had met as her lips went back over her candy, pulling it in and swishing it around her mouth. Amalga wasn't even a Countess, and that was just one of the things that warmed her heart enough, to ignore the cold that came from sensing their queen's power. The creation really did care as much as she should.
Even more really, knowing her words weren't actually enough to soothe the Vampire. Though she continued to remain at the other end of the couch nonetheless, and in her vision as she should. From what she had felt of where the brunette was, the girl did actually make it to East City with the Majin intern.
Amalga wasn't wrong that something must have happened. There hadn't really been a need anymore, for their queen to really go outside of her regular form, most of the time. None of them had really fought that much since becoming Matriarchs, but actually doing so, still felt natural, whether they did or didn't.
"Of course we did. She must be having some real fun with Saeko-chan, if she's out there like that."
Speeding into the room not that long after her answer to the creation, had been Ayumi. Hearing and seeing the girl made her really miss the days before she actually had this much power. The brunette still had just about the same kind of power since they had met, and the same responsibilities of cooking and cleaning too. While she and the others had to go around what was left of earth, counting who of their kin was still left alive in each of the lands.
There hadn't really been that many traitors who evacuated, when earth was attacked. If they had ever came back to the planet, they would be culled for deserting the queen, and disobeying their Matriarchs. It was really a lot of work, and she had to still get to it at some point later, but it wouldn't matter if she decided to take things easy now. Going out during the day was pretty annoying anyway. A lot more than how much had changed since earth's queen had died. The Antediluvian was able to move her plans forward, since a new queen and all, meant that the planet didn't need to really keep its alliances.
Maybe that was what's going on? She did feel a couple of ki that she didn't recognize. Although they weren't nowhere near where the brunette was, except for one. There wasn't really a need to answer the fledgling, who looked like she was talking more to the creation anyway. It really did bring a smile to her face, seeing the younger girl pat the mantis on the head, as if they both weren't equals. Ayumi wasn't really the type to just stop talking either.
"So hey, since we have like three other moms now, not counting Lady Rukia, I'm really hoping we get to go to other planets more. Ya know, for alliances and stuff? Dashie and Wintera must both really miss their planets. Though I think she would let us visit Wintera's first."
Facing her now, she only continued to keep swishing the sucker in her mouth as she listened on. They didn't really even need the brunette's permission, was what the girl seemed to be forgetting. She could let one of the two, or really, both of them, back towards their own planet for future opportunities.
Both of their power were practically on the opposite ends of each other. Wintera had gotten stronger since they stopped treating the girl roughly, but was still nowhere near their level. The Supidoan would be more useful with the things they had planned. Like she and one of the others going to some planet incase that Caesar guy had showed up, so that their race wouldn't end. So long as there was one Matriarch in the world, they could easily keep themselves alive. It was these kind of things she was able to see and had mattered to her now, when it really wouldn't have been any of her business before.
She could still remember being on Namek, and only serving as a healer, not really even getting a chance to do anything, when their queen had challenged the Guru there. It was a pretty messy situation then, but things were better now. They had Satsu and Yasai backing them up, who were really pretty cool for putting up with their attitudes. Without her having anyone who wasn't a Vampire stay away, she wouldn't be able to even think this way about them.
Non-Vampires were just so boring, even if she had at least knew someone before. This was the taste of power the rest of their kin were supposed to grab one day too. Their blood magic really was something else. But if they were really supposed to be better than the other beings, it was something to put up with.
"There's no need to bother her with that stuff. Tell Wintera she can take a spacepod back to her planet, and we'll see about going there ourselves when the queen gets back."
"Roger that!"
Not even questioning what she had said, the girl had saluted her, and sped off in the blink of an eye. Her sucker only had just a nub left, which she bit into, while doing her best to keep the paper stick off her tongue. The taste of blueberries was never really going to be something she would get tired of.
From the feel of how the queen was doing, it seemed like she had left wherever she was, and was moving back and forth around the city. It was really only reminding her how she'll end up being later, when she patrolled through the other lands, which wasn't really the kind of thing that she wanted to feel right now. Though she felt something in her head, that just wanted to check up on the brunette. Their status, just made them too close for her not to.
Leaving the stick inside of a wrapper, next to the other ones on the table behind her, she had popped another sucker into her mouth. Darkness surrounded her as she shut her eyes, a single arm resting behind her head. Amalga would continue staying with her until they left together, and it still felt too early to really get any work done. With the creation also watching over here, it was pretty easy to find time pass by pretty quickly, without her head dulling as it did, when she wasn't around her kin. The vibration that had came from around her waist, had her reaching around with her other arm, until feeling her phone.
"One of you guys escort Yui to Capsule Corp, and have the boys draft up a 74682, section 256."
Tapping the home button and having the phone assistant read the message out loud, the sucker in her mouth swished around as she smiled again. The numbers spelled out PINTA, or Pain In The Ass, with the section accompanying it, spelling out blonde. This kind of contract hadn't really been brought up since the girl had brushed off that swordsman on Namek, Cambia. It was really just a draft too, which was meant to put a restraining order against the blonde.
The thing was just never processed and given to the Saiyan Alliance's Overseer, because those two were related. So the queen had met another blonde or something? Because the girl could have easily used something less specific. And for it to also be around the time she fought against the Guru of Namek, said a couple of other things too. Either way though, she slipped the phone back underneath her, keeping her eyes still closed. She could tell Amalga was twitching and eager to help, even though they both knew the brunette meant only Matriarchs. Natsumi or Miki would handle it. They were more used to Yui.
"Don't worry about it, it'll be taken care of."
She still talked to the creation with her mouth slightly full, rather than plopping the candy out first, and actually looking at the Vampire. From the feel of things in the house, it seemed like Natsumi was the one who was going to head out with the girl's cousin. If the red-head didn't have immunity into being one of them, ordered by the queen herself, the girl would probably be a lot more bearable. Wintera and Ayumi also both seemed to have already left as well.
If the alien was really going to head back towards her planet, then all they would really have to do is wait awhile for the Kold Demon to settle in. She was pretty honest, ignoring all of the cursing she kept to herself. But that seemed more like an innate thing the alien struggled to really fight against.
It still felt too early to leave themselves, and she did what she could to ignore the warmth in her head, which kept reminding her of what she needed to do later. What was really important to her, here and now, was just staying out of whatever she could, like how she used to be able to do before this power.
It shouldn't have been any of her business, and she shouldn't have really cared so much about taking on more responsibilities than what she was used to. Accounting for the number of Vampires in the north was her job, and if something else needed to be done, that didn't require fighting off someone, then it was something one of the others could do. Something she could also save for the next day. She wasn't going to just busy herself like the brunette did.
Being a Matriarch, wasn't just the same as being the queen.
