Once more, the Redheaded halfbreed found himself down by the shores of hell, standing by them like a stoic warrior ready to meet the challenge of a hero. That, of course, wasn't the reason he was down there after all, but rather he was putting time and effort into thinking how exactly he would break out of hell. All he had, for the time being, was the knowledge that people had done it before when they were far weaker than he was now. That and the idea that the Grand Supreme Kai wanted him to look into how exactly others got out which went hand in hand with him needing to be alive for the upcoming Tournament of Power. The Demon had almost been down there for an entire year in fact... he had done so little while down there but at the same time, he felt like he had grown far more than any of his time alive had given him. But without his time alive he would have never been able to have this growth, all of it felt truly wonderful if he had to be honest.
He had so much to reflect on as well... his meeting with the Grand Supreme Kai, his meeting with Cornatto, and the time that he had spent with Liari. He wouldn't trade any of it in to be in the Upper Realms at this very moment, and he couldn't help but smile at it all. His time was drawing to a close though, he could come back to this place later if the lady who checked him into either place deemed it to be so. He still didn't feel like he had served his time down in hell after all of this time, and truly nobody could say they served their time. Centuries of time placed down here wouldn't be enough to answer for things that some did. It wasn't his place to decide any of those things, however, he just needed to look towards what was to happen within the coming days. Time for standing around doing nothing was long gone.
The Demon's arms would unfold themselves as he stared out over the water's edge, before moving his gaze down to the palm of his hand. Other people got out of this place somehow, and he was strong enough to find out. Even if Jarvis and Komatsu had gotten far stronger while in the afterlife, they were nowhere near as strong as he was now when they first revived, so that was what he had to base it on. Perhaps, if he was to use a similar method as to how he broke out of the prison that he and Shizen shared for a brief period of time, he would be able to break through hell as well? Just like with the rip of the prison it would pretty easily close shut as well, so it wouldn't cause any long-term problems for the Demon Boy, as others wouldn't be able to flock to the rip in hell and escape it as well in the time that he would take to get out it would re-seal itself if the rip in the prison was anything to show for it.
Bernael had a lot to answer for once he had revived... would anybody even accept him anymore? Most likely some would accept him still but he knew that some would probably turn their backs on him forever, it was bound to happen. He knew that he definitely wouldn't be able to keep all of the relationships he had in life, but some of them he didn't care if he kept good relations with or not, a few he would rather be unaffiliated with at that. All of that would have to come after the Tournament of Power, however... other's didn't have the time to assault him and push him into the dirt if they were in desperate need to stop themselves from being erased. Besides, not everyone could be against him... right?
He would shake his head a bit at the thought of all of this, realizing that he was getting off topic in his mind to what really mattered. He was preparing himself to get out of this hellscape after all. The Demon would move his feet outwards into a fighting stance, focusing on the air as his aura would begin to fire up. His power would begin to skyrocket towards its peak, multiplying on top of itself manifold as his power began to climb more and more till it finally plateaued. His body would give off small electric sparks as they would fly through the air causing the water in front of him to ripple over and over. His hair would spike up into his Demon King forms soft cyan color, his aura seeping out in a sea of teal as his wild charging would sort of soften, his body remaining more calmed as he would focus on the same spot in the air. It was a lot more than focusing on the air around him, however, it was more like he was using the energies of the afterlife that he had gathered so far and made them work together with his body to make a physical target in the atmosphere around him. It was a start for sure.
With a bit more of pausing on his behalf, he would lunge his hand forward, trying to grab onto that physical spot in the air, trying to grab it and rip it open. He would only have minor success doing this as his body latched onto that physical spot his mind and energy created, but the moment that he tried to pull through it would immediately yank away from him like trying to grab onto a slippery doorknob. This was why he was doing this now though, if he was doing this and having this much failure when he needed to go to the Tournament within the next few minutes he would be screwed. The demon had given himself more than enough time to practice, he was going to be able to get this in time. He would immediately power up again, his aura shooting towards the sky more as he would use both hands this time, gripping onto the intangible space that was made out of the energy of the afterlife that flowed through him and made his body take form in the first place, his muscles tensing up as he would try to rip that feeble space open for him to take a shot at it.
There was no way that it would be that easy, however, as he would slowly slip through that break in time and space and fall onto his ass by the shore of this river. All that mattered, for now, was making progress, he didn't want to actually make a rip just yet as it could pull him through prematurely and he had to settle some other things. Most importantly, he needed to show Liari how it was able to be done. Even if he wasn't able to take her with him he had to have her around to see it come true, and only then would he accept leaving this place. The demon would dust off his pants a bit as he stood up, stretching as he had made a mental note of where exactly he was working to create this rip to the mortal realm. He could take a physical break after putting that effort into it, after all, it was now that he had to take a look at the bigger picture and put some more thought into it.
Theoretically, if he was to output himself at maximum power, charge an Excalibur to its maximum state, and then pump all of his demonic energy into the attack all in one go, he could get a similar outcome to the one that broke through the prison. That all sounded well and good in his head but how exactly would he get the tear to the point that it could be attacked like that? He had surely gathered enough energy while he was down in hell to make it count though. Maybe if he tried hard enough he could just will himself back into the mortal world like they were able to with a body...? No, that sounded far too absurd and simplistic to bust out of Hell, he needed to put all of that energy into ripping his way out physically. Or... maybe he needed to do a mix of both? The Demon pondered further on the matter as he thought how exactly he would be able to bust out of hell and all. It was easy enough to say just do it but... what was he just doing? Another idea came to mind using the way that people were able to get their bodies back, what if he pushed more of that energy directly into his physical form to make it a sort of bunker buster but for the afterlife? Maybe having so much energy that was similar to it, it would resist him less if he charged at it head-on. It was all very curious indeed, and he wouldn't be able to learn more without finding out further... but of course, this thought process wouldn't come so easily for the boy, as he felt the depths of his subconscious pull at him again.
"Why do you wish to leave this place, this is your home now. You screwed everything up for us and now we have to stay here forever. Your universe needs you, but do you need it? What has this place done for you anyway? Shouldn't we just accept erasure and be done with it?" the depths of his mind would call out to him, coaxing him with honeyed words and dark thoughts like the ones he always used to have. His only innate response would be to grit his teeth and clench his fists, but he knew he could do nothing about it. He and this other form of thought were one in the same in the end, two sides of the same coin that was his mind. That didn't mean he had to enjoy it, though. "I'm done listening to you, or caring about what you have to say. My path is mine to choose and you have no part it in, you'll just be along for the ride. You always seem interested in everything anyway." he would speak slowly and softly, almost dismissively towards his other half as he would power down out of his Demon King form, his hair slowly falling into its normal style with its deep magenta color. He honestly didn't want anything to do with that other side of him but it was there to stay for the time being... and its power at times could prove useful in the tournament of power if he really needed to call upon it. He just had to worry about how reckless that side of him would use his body. The ability to give up control to such a thing would only be used in dire circumstances.
"You're going to need my help to get out of this place, you know that right? I've always been the more powerful and aggressive of us two... just let me inside and I can tear us out of here right now." it felt like this entity, whatever it was, was breathing down his back once more, tearing into his very being and asking him to accept it. It felt just the same as when it coaxed him into transforming against the Saiyans when they sieged the Lookout... he couldn't thank it enough for its help back then but everything else he had achieved since then was through his own power and hard work. Then again... he had yet to overcome the obstacle of unlocking the form that he saw his aunt use, and this other half of him could be the golden ticket to pushing him over the edge once more. Bernael didn't really have the need for it now, though, as he just wanted to get physically stronger himself. If he could push his innate potential to skyrocket passed any of his forms he would take that any day. "Tch... it is true that you can help me with this, but I don't want to leave right now. I have a bit more training to do down here and then I have to show Liari how to get out. I know she can't come out with me yet but that doesn't mean I can't show her how its done as a going away gift." he would look away a bit, even though he knew that no matter where he was looking that voice in his mind would still be everpresent as if it was coming from right in front of him. That was just how this worked.
The voice wasn't going to go away anytime soon, and the Demon Hybrid knew that for himself... he just had to accept it for now. "Why do you need to stall, any time you spend in here is time you are wasting, you should just leave right now and never look back. This place has no need for you, nobody down here does!" the voice would curl itself around, embedding itself deep within Bernael's thought process as he would just hold onto his head. "I'm different than that... I don't need to rush to do what others tell me anymore... I choose my own fate... and I am going to do what I wish to do down here before I leave." the demon would immediately power up into his Demon King form once more, the corrupted energies of his body overpowering his own senses to make him more his own once again. If anything, this form was good for one thing... it made him more dominantly demon as well, pushed him beyond any hold that his subconscious would wish to place on him.
"The time for talking is over... I have everything set up, I just have to work on it now." he would mumble to himself as he would enhance himself to go full power once again, his ki focusing inside of his body as he would once more grab a hold onto the more physical space he had focused on, his power seeping through his body to begin to rip and pull, but once more to no avail. It was a waste for now... he wasn't going to get out with this level of focus and he didn't want to get out right away. He had some more stuff to do, for now, he would talk to Liari and then he would begin to leave this place before his time limit was up.
