Under the heat of the blazing sun above, a girl with straw hat on her head pulled all her treasure trove of a suitcase back to the west city. She probably meddling a bit too much, but she starting to feel that there is something wrong with this place. Why it's the only one standing? The south was full of man eating plants, the north devastated, the East was supposed to be one of humanity's other bastion, yet it fell, and now... here... this one stays standing. Why? Why not the total demolition of earth? What's the need of keeping one place standing, if it's only for the sake of conquering? Perhaps there are some asset here that cannot be destroyed. CC Corps came to mind. The girl might be slightly an airhead, but she instinctively know that CC Corps probably the best thing technology have to offer to mankind. Their life is definitely tons easier thanks to the most successful corporate in (presumably) the universe.
...If monopoly of the last bastion standing is the one they want, does it really matter with how advanced this city is? Naturally, people would flock to this city from how well maintained it is compared to the rural east, right? But if it's to reduce refugee then it makes sense. Even so... she can't help but to think what a waste secretly. She perhaps an oddity in a way she likes the human and their culture. Come to think of it, was she a human? Or was she not? At any rate, it doesn't matter at the moment... What she want to do... is to look for the truth. How? Well, that's probably something that she'll take her time in finding out.
"...Hmmm... I guess I better look for the room to spend the night tonight... I need a safe place to drink blood too..."
Honestly, she's starting to get tired from drinking animal blood. She really want to drink a strong person's blood. Even if it's just a shot glass worth of blood, she want it! It's a luxury that always denied to her, and it's seriously starting to annoy her. She had half the mind to hypnosis someone in hospital to lead her to blood bank and check the quality of the blood through her bloodsensing. From there, she'll just... probably pay and skeddaddles... Sounds about right. Though she'll probably get caught by camera... Come to think of it, does she have a reflection again? Can camera capture her? All this things about vampire yet she know so little about herself and what she is. Honestly so baffling. Ah well, at any rate, to the inn, to the inn! She might need to get some money though. Her funds is getting thinner by days. It would be dangerous if this were to continue. But who would employ a girl that would drool at the sight of strong people? She'll probably get a ticket to jail instead for being a local pervert. That won't do...
It was amazing what could be accomplished in only a year.
She had started out as a fledgling, only several years ago, and now she was in a position where she was able to influence one fighting side. Give one advantage over the other, just from using the strength that she had trained to build up. Lives could be lost if she allowed it, while those who had some alliance with her, or were under her charge, would be able to remain protected. It all depended on the opportunities that she saw available.
One had came up rather recently, as her Majin had returned from Planet Bris, with good news. Not only had the alien's personal obstacles been dealt with while on that planet of snow, but the girl had also learned the Kold Demon they formed a deal with, had wiped out the refugees on the planet.
It was good news, knowing a portion had actually came back to earth, setting up the path for when the demons had attacked the city. As far as she had knew, neither the remaining refugees dying, nor the demons and their incoming interest of this place, had been made public to anyone. The new queen of earth was too much of a fickle one to really allow panic to happen, and more likely than not, there would be a public message to the people, sooner or later.
Though no matter what that blonde did, she wouldn't be able to win. The opposing party were all strong in their own right, and it would take a miracle for those who deemed themselves 'good' to win. This was still in consideration of anyone who could show up and out of the blue, to give them trouble.
But she didn't exactly mind that either. Both sides were a true detriment to the progress she envisioned for her own kind, so long as their more powerful was still around. Either side losing one or two of their own people, would simply pave the way to growth, and allow others to rise up instead.
Knowing what could come within the next few days, with the powerhouses being gone for the Tournament of Power, it was fortunate that she was starting to prepare her kind to move towards Planet Bris, if they wished to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. A Grand Order would be given out soon, to emphasize how serious she was about the move, and making the planet their temporary stay. At least until she could obtain a planet of their own.
What the demons did to the city when they had won the coming back, would mean having to establish new boundary lines. Possibly having some of her own kind be subservient, if those demons wanted to be pushovers, and made the mistake of not giving her a fair share of the land, for even assisting them.
If that was where things would go, then she would have essentially helped create some kind of Earth Remnants group, but a betrayal was hardly a wise decision, even with their combined forces. Certain individuals on their side would die for sure, knowing they only remained alive because she allowed it.
There was no longer neither a need to flaunt her power, nor suppress it, as she had walked about the city. The former nowadays, was more to bear all of the nonsense that could come from an earthling speaking, if there wasn't someone who needed to be talked down to. While the latter had no rhyme or reason to do so. This city was practically hers, and even with the mix of those who had chosen to become refugees, it still wasn't something of a problem.
What amazed her more than anything, was knowing how long of a way she had really came. Her base strength was half of a million, according to advanced scouters, which was the reason that she was out and about in the first place. From what she could recall being told about, one of the stores within the area, had a robbery some time ago. She was only checking up on things now, having the clerk there read off her strength, before she bought the items.
The few that she had would come in handy for the coming battle, and with all of these provisions that she was providing, it would be the demons and their own fault, if they had took too many losses. Serve as an example of just why she was one to be sided with, if they were actually that incompetent.
The scouters were pocketed away into the drawstring bag she so often had on her back, her appearance completely unchanged from her appearing as if she was still in high school. Though the pale skin was still there, anything but her brown eyes was what would usually give away she was anything more than human.
Her own power could have represented plenty of beings, with how ki tended to distinguish race for the most part, other than what felt troubling for the weak. She took her time to leave just as well, not really having any further preparations that really needed to be done. The others usually did their patrolling rather quick, even simply passing by her should they needed to, without a word exchanged. That was the way it was just mean to be.
There were so many simpletons in the city, and those who were familiar to her, through her own allies saving them during the Tree of Might incident, knew very well not to disturb her. Though anyone who really dared to approach this kind of unsuppressed power, were kidding themselves, if they expected anything more than simple chatter. It could easily weigh down most beings, but that was just the point in having this be the only thriving city that was around.
Any potential attackers or the like, should be ready to die, if they believed they could destroy this city without her approval and benefit. Though power didn't necessarily required gaining someone's attention. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the most colorful and partially braided hair.
From her own experience, it was unbelievable how many pink haired individuals, turned out to be rather pleasant to deal with. This one in particular, was carrying a suitcase of all things, which was curious for someone who likely wasn't a business individual, if not for knowing there were visitors to this city. People who wished to see for themselves if this place was still running well, while likely wondering just how it was even possible.
"You there! A likely visitor from another city, aren't you? It's unfortunate of where things have come, hasn't it?"
Her stare had been directly at the girl, with the warmest of smiles surprisingly managing to form on her face. This one's signature didn't seem familiar, though there was a chance that one of the others might have felt it before. She could feel herself this one was stronger than a human.
Though that wasn't exactly anything impressive either.
A voice called out to her. The strawberry blond haired girl turned around to find... a girl that looks slightly older than her. She looks to be in her teenage years. This one, however, is... outrageous. Did she really feel it right at the moment? Or is it just some sort of joke? Whatever the case was...this one didn't trigger her thirst for blood for unknown reason and instead more to... a general notion that she is powerful. It strangely did not rang alarm in the girl's head. Why? What a strange thing, but it's not that she mind. She honestly half glad that she wouldn't have to show such an embarrassing view toward this one.
"Oh why hello!" she replied the greeting, smiling as friendly as she could. Interesting person should be entertained, especially since her first meeting aren't going well. "A hot day isn't it?" what would I know, the sun just practically hurt my eyes while my skin probably still ice cold for some reason. It still bothers me how stark the difference between mine and room temperature somehow. "Visitor? Well, if it's about me being here, I guess visitor might be accurate... but at the same time it's not quite right. I mean, with all the other town decimated, only this one standing. Might as well as staying or regularly coming here for the sake of doing business, but eh... let's just say I'm just a curious newcomer that wanted to see more of West City myself! I have to say that this place probably the best, even before what transpired." but at the same time, it's very suspicious hmn. "Yes, it's a pity of what has happened to the other city, but what can we do I guess. I heard a lot of people is returning back to Earth after the evacuation, so I guess it'll be lively sooner or later! I wouldn't know when they'll come back though. Let's just say I napped too much," she would joke. "Missed my ride, but guess no one would miss me, ha! One man's trash is another's treasure, I guess?"
...Still, as pleasant as this chat goes, she's more interested to learn about this girl... more like, she felt she must absolutely know about her. "...Even so, are you a local, miss?" she would ask "I mean, people from west city really fears nothing, huh? They did not follow the queen's order and stay here like west city is the last bastion of humanity. It made me curious what with the super confidence. Made me jealous you know. CC Corps have their own super shield? Maybe a secret escape pod?" her tone does not sound prying, but instead it sounds like she's making a joke simply for the sake of hearing the other girl talks more. "Me, I just feel like if the world is ending, then I wouldn't want to run away from all the fun that's left. So I decided to stay here. I don't have parents, nor I have lovers, if I were to die then at least let me die without any regret. What about you? I mean, North probably dead, south full of man eating plants or something, east now gone, and west is the only one surviving. I honestly don't want west to die out too, you know? I haven't ate all that many foods from here, haven't taken photo of great things around here... Ah, though if I were to die, I don't think I can bring my phone to afterlife, huh!"
The girl calmed herself down somewhat and finally smiled again. "I guess I spoke a bit way too much. Got a guy staring at me crazy the first time I do that. Sorry if I sounded like a huge chatterbox! At any rate, my name is Alluca, Alluca Arcus. Thanks for the kind greeting~" WC: 647
It didn’t sicken her like it did around other beings, which encouraged the inkling suspicion she had, though following that wasn’t a focus on her mind. What maternal instincts she had as a queen, it was really only when being away from her own kind, did it become possibly distracting. She otherwise felt as normal as any other younger Vampire, although that wouldn’t change certain cynical beliefs she personally carried.
The most common of beliefs regarding Vampires, was that the sun hurt them. It had its truth to it, but like with crosses and similar spiritual items, it would only be as painful for as long as one was weak. For someone of her power to face such a thing, it was nothing but laughable, to try that method on her.
What warmth she could feel from the sun, was much like what any other human would feel from it, beyond the presence of the weather weighing heavier and somewhat more noticeable. Though she would say a lot of that was attributed more to the blood magic inside of her, giving that belief.
”It’s warm, but there’s always hope for rain on days like these.”
Anyone capable of fighting at the inhuman speeds plenty could go at however, would easily forget about what harm the weather could cause, as they lost themselves into the fighting. So many people tended to spar, and so many beings so carelessly let their power run wild. It was a wonder just why those like the Remnant Alliance felt so strongly at one of their destroyed settlements, beyond just the feeling of violation, when it could easily be a local’s own damage.
There was truth to the response she got back from her question for the girl, although one that could look at more sides, like anything else. West City might have been the only one still standing, but it was because of supplies sent towards the other cities for repair and shelter, did not everyone happened to stay.
They had their own reasons, their own memories, for sticking with their decision, although she would gladly take away any support that blonde queen could possibly possess. Even if it was a temporary stay, it would only continue to back the idea that she was doing something right around here.
”I’ve seen enough contractors and the like go through here for just supplies, and while it would be wonderful if they could decide to leave the shelters being made in other cities, I’m sure they have fond memories they just can’t let go of. Or perhaps the queen’s interest.”
Anyone who chose to live in one of the shelters, either couldn’t swallow their pride enough to live in comfort, or they were too loyal to that blonde for whatever reason. There was nothing but wishes of hardships for those sort for choosing not to side with her. Didn’t matter if she couldn’t stand humans.
”It all depends on the queen I suppose, beyond what businesses decide to hire around here. I wouldn’t blame anyone going to the other cities to help out what’s essentially makeshift soup kitchens.”
Though provisions and other things weren’t likely to be distributed so freely, she imagined. That blonde was backwards in a lot of ways, and stubborn enough to have practically made shelter right outside the Kold Demon’s capital, according to her Majin. They were prideful beings, and to have a group of people taking shelter outside, would do nothing but remind them of just where their empire had gone, to be taken advantage of. And all cause of Saiyans.
So a more controlled environment was hardly unbelievable, if the blonde so willing and stubborn enough not to take a chance with sending the refugees to Namek. The Namekians lived there far longer than the Saiyans, so damn the excuse that things could go wrong. It showed more ignorance than anything on the queen’s part, how little she knew about the universe, other than signs of life dying out, and the girl wishing to do something of it.
”Well you certainly weren’t the only one. It takes quite a bit to be willing to leave a city, but a planet in its entirety can be even harder. Things turned out mostly in the end though.”
Missing a ride, rather than just a rejection, was an interesting way to put it. But she still saw justification for anyone who chose to stay behind rather than to Bris, personally knowing the Queen had claimed her title without an army. She hardly recalled what excuse was given to the public.
Her best guess would have been more emphasis on that dead kitsune and old queen of earth, Rinako, going on about how the blonde had her blessing. There was only so much worth in the words of someone dead, and she would have thought would come back to life by now, personally knowing of the afterlife.
How long had it even been since that fox died? She only knew that despite having some respect for the kitsune, there were plenty of others who had disliked the girl for their own reasons. Truthfully, she couldn’t remember any memorable policies herself being enacted, but she was still an example of a woman having come into power. So many that could have been, she knew had succumbed to that man, tossing away all of their beliefs and the like.
”Born and raised here, which is why I could never abandon the planet without good reason. One invasion on the planet, when it’s had so many in the past, only means a few days in the emergency bunkers. It’s nothing new, but I can understand why some would leave.”
And there really had been plenty past invasions. Ones which she could recall being forced to hide in herself, long before she had gained any worthwhile power. Having to watch things go down and be able to do nothing, wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences to really go through.
That had been her thinking back then, but now it all depended on how beneficial it was to allow things to happen. What could be gained from it, that this opposing force mistakenly believed that there was no one worthwhile to go and challenge them. She could think of a few ideas, like having her allies handle it on their own as training. But that didn’t amount to anything for her, without striking a deal with their leader in some form.
”While I’m sure they could afford the necessary amount of spacecrafts to leave the planet on their own, I suppose you haven’t heard the rumors then? About the corporation’s CEO, being more than what she seems?”
When it had came to Capsule Corp, it had been through careful effort, that the face of the one representing it, had been her mother. She had, and still was, a year underage to really run a company publicly, so it was always her mother who was mentioned to be the CEO. Though she didn’t need to do any real work, besides the face of the company. But things tended to change over time, and blood magic had its convenience here and there.
It was upon becoming a Matriarch, was she able to pretend being her mother, as their resemblance was striking enough not to have bat any eyes. Her mother’s pictures were still used, but she no longer had to really be around. Just enjoy the benefits that could come from obtaining such a position, that the former CEO had publicly resigned from. It took so much waiting before a new CEO could reasonably be announced.
”The new queen would really have to change in ways I agree with, for me to go along with any of her decisions. She wants the public and their support, which I believe is the reason those who didn’t go, were allowed to even stay. I would hope that doesn’t change anytime soon.”
If that blonde had enacted some kind of forced measurement when she had publicly announced what happened on Bris, then it would only play to her side, that things were becoming a sort of dictatorship. She didn’t really know what the demons were planning, and how their reign would be in the end, but it was surely something better than what the new queen could come up with. They didn’t have rely on the dead’s favor.
The tone in this girl’s voice, was so noticeably upbeat, it would be difficult not to feel the kind of interest and enthusiasm in her words. Things still continued to feel pleasant from her perspective, rather than time and her surroundings, just dulling away. What this girl was had its importance, but nothing she would raise up and out of the blue. Although she did have in mind to go and transition things to visiting Capsule Corp at one point.
”It’s no trouble at all. I have a few friends with similar personalities I’m sure you would like. Rukia Date. I suppose you could say I’m used to trying to find certain people of interest to more or less recruit.”
The alliteration in this girl’s name was hard to miss, a lot like how her own surname shared with Capsule Corp’s CEO. Although she certainly wasn’t the only Date around, it had never stopped the more lively ones into questioning a possible connection, believing in how small the world was. But that was so much back then, and she wouldn’t say she was the most approachable person now, with how her power didn’t require flaunting off anymore.
”If you don’t have any plans, might I invite you to lunch? My place of work has decent catering, and you wouldn’t be our first visitor.”
Decent was an understatement, but it was still something new for the girl to try.
Curious would be the word that Alluca thinks would fit about this person in front of her. Not only did she not trigger her blood gourmet side, but also she seem to be more than met the eye? While her expression unchanging from the friendly smile she exhibited, partly because she still did not felt any sort of alarm blaring mentally, she tried to formulate all sort of answers and questions in her mind. It's not normally something she done. She usually just go by the flow, which, now that she think of it, kind of ridiculous how she have to choose her answer and counter-questions.
"A chance of rain you say? I thought with the south and north gone awry, the climate would gone awry with it... But to think that there would be chance of rain still... Honestly, is our planet is this resilient?"
It was honestly amazing. Out of sudden she was talking about climate? Oi, Alluca, where gone the airhead you? Or this is another form of airheadness that instead of talking about whatever chic culture that you like, you suddenly ask someone that might as not interested as you about climate? Even the girl herself is baffled with her own reply, enough for her to laugh nervously. "Well that came out almost from the left field, oh well. Rain is pleasant though. Much more pleasant than sweltering heat."
Memories and the likes she can get why those people staying. A certain boy stayed on the east too despite the west probably would welcome him with better stuff, but... at the same time, mankind is truly a being with strong sentimentality. Perhaps that was what pulled the girl to them. She lacked them before. She felt it was illogical. Why would you die for a sake of something nonliving like house or items? Why could you not just give it up? The swordsman on the east also is completely strange. He's waiting for someone to return, but when? Those sort of feeling perhaps began to develop in her too, so she could understand. But, what she don't understand, is the queen's interest.
"...Queen's interest? Now what an interest of that would be?" she asked again, gently moving some stray hair strands away from her face. "If you would ask me, I'd question her decision in some way... I heard we're not alone in this universe, and somehow she's evacuating most people to this planet called Bris... Does our relationship with that planet really that good? Or is she well respected enough in that planet for the other part to upheld their little bargain? And now suddenly she returned most males to do the work back here in earth... now she's going to send back some more here... It... it all felt like a waste of time suddenly?" Alluca commented. "Then again I'm lacking basic common knowledge about the planetary relationship and spaceship matters, so what would I know?" the girl would shrug at the end.
"Soup kitchen is noble, but why I feel like there's some truly more important point being missed in here?" she would speak out loud "Ah well, I'm not really a supporter of the queen. Neither any of my friend, so you would have to excuse my ignorance." Being locked for years, or, she actually forgot to count how long, the girl felt no loyalty for the current queen or previous one. She didn't felt any indebted or feel there is a reason to give that modicum of respect worthy to be given to a ruler. They don't really rule her she guess?
Planet is entirely harder, ye, she got that. Leaving a city would be fine, because you would see people from the same planet anyway, but another planet? What if they're dictator, what if they're too strong for you to handle? Imagining all of this made Alluca nod at the reasoning. "Even so I hardly believe going out to the other planet would be the right choice, if it's just matter of getting place to refuge to... Why not spend more time to look for alternative planet and stay there? I mean, with how many disaster here, I hardly believed they didn't do it already. I mean, sure there are fear associated to alien, but I mean, if they're willing to go as far as evacuating, might as well as doing that? Start anew? At least you won't get backstabbed in your deal somehow? Ah, but of course this is just an opinion of a girl who never really took her class seriously, so sorry if it sounds like I'm talking out of my ass."
Looks like her guess were right. "So it's sentimentality?" could have sworn that it was more to that, something like she was so proud to be citizen of this place like she was the one that owns it... Alluca thought. "Rumors, well, unfortunately some good, some bad. But there was this eerie vibe apparently on the west city said many. Perhaps queen loyalist... I tried to not believe on them, but it was suspicious considering it is the only one standing you know? As for the CC Corps CEO herself... Many unpleasant rumor kind of circulating around... like she apparently some sort of having under the table deal with the invader, usual conspiracy theory as of why this city is untouched, that sort... I would just smile and nod my head, but I just try to stonewall that sort of thing. I don't need conspiracy theory at the moment, no siree. I already had enough of those. It'll just gonna add more and more paranoia. Enough with me thinking what for dinner tomorrow or what for breakfast today. especially since I'm also handling some refugees at the moment for a personal help to come at later date. I sure hope that my friend will come fast though..."
...especially since his mother is actually HERE in earth instead of in Bris.
...Though, the next part of what she said made Alluca stop dead on her track of thought. So indeed, this girl is not a common girl, huh... "...I've been wondering why my thirst haven't been triggering since a while now..." she would carefully say, her voice dropped in volume. "The pedestrian on our left and right sounds like they tasted more appetizing than you despite you're so strong... otherworldly so... If I would to put it in number, even 100.000 would make me drool in frenzy and enough to send me to brink of insanity. You're around... 500.000? If I saw that sort of person, I might would get knocked out or outright dead if I got triggered. I can't say I can control my hunger for blood just yet... so with me not being triggered the slightest at your presence... I honestly was very glad that I wouldn't have to show an unsightly sight of me drooling at a kind stranger that interests me so much.
But then, I noticed the more I talked with you, the more my suspicion boiling without my alarm blaring for some reason. If anything, it felt like I spoke to someone with certain familiarity... an old friend perhaps? A lot apparently kept their guard around me even though I tried my best to be friendly with them. The one on the east was one of them, what a shame. My suspicion was so strong that before I was about to say something that I heard from a disillusioned refugee why wouldn't she come here... something along the line of CC Corp CEO apparently bathed in blood of young girls to keep her beauty and youth. That was so rude of me though, my apologies."
She slowly bowed, but not overly formal and more to a greeting, mainly to not attract suspicion. "Pleasure to meet you, milady. Recruitment is it?" She... had she even been recruited before? She can't remember. She loved her freedom way too much, but for this one, she feels she need to listen more. "I see, indeed, I have nothing to do, not in close time obviously. I will kindly take your offer then." WC: 1361
It was good to be around these type of individuals.
Those she knew who were similar in personality, not all of them were Vampires, and it was because of that, did it so often fail to elicit the kind of mood they were going for. To not be around her own kind, her lack of interest could be so apparent without her transforming into a higher state.
But there was no need for her to put in as much effort into listening and answering, allowing her to pick up the kind of humor that this one really had. The girl had a certain earnesty to her, that was really telling of what kind of life she must have lived, compared to her own. Their demeanor contrasted, but it was unlike that Elemi she had met awhile ago, who was just as much as a leader that she was. Though there was no need for her to really flaunt either.
The girl wasn't a threat, nor gave off the kind of behavior the new queen did, with what was currently being shared. It could always happen to change, but it would take a lot to be able to counter her words. That blonde queen hadn't take long at all, to show that she could do nothing more than parrot.
”This planet's survival is likely one of the top reasons why it has become such a tourist trap, for those from space. But yes, the more powerful beings that show up, can likely affect the weather cycle on their own, with their inhuman speeds.”
For rain to form in the first place, water vapor had to rise in the air, cool down, then create condensation to form the clouds for rain. It could easily happen through the unnatural means that could come from fighting, what with beings holding different techniques, but even if it didn't, the sun could only be out for so long. She would say it was still pretty early out though, and how much relief the interior of a building would have likely given anyone.
Whether through rain, snow, or heat, the weather wasn't something which bothered her too much. There was so many more things to worry for than that kind of uncontrollable comfort, so long as one was outside, where those conditions could be felt. Although it was still good to have this kind of pleasant chatter.
”It can definitely be nice, especially if a rainbow forms. The sight of the skies during that time, somewhat remind me of the twilight ones a friend I had, really loved.”
Twilight skies really did have their fair share in beauty. She could recall the days of when it was somewhat painful to think back about the deal she struck, when she had only access to Refined Control. The pinkette, she couldn't recall really hearing from, likely due to something gone wrong, knowing of the girl's true nature. She was so spontaneous and full of hope for someone that was actually artificial, it would be difficult to forget about her.
Those skies had been something to really honor now, having look back at things, and see just what the pinkette had meant, on why she enjoyed them. It could easily become reality through the use of the dragonballs, which felt so far off, with how many people wanted it, and what she'd had to do to get her wish.
That man was likely to interrupt any attempts into trying. She might have thought herself to have more of a leverage, surviving an encounter with him, but he was still an unpredictable individual who just couldn't let go of the past. Forced memories of his own life, as if it would have a lasting effect.
In the end however, it was still one's own perception to events, that would label things to be more bad, than that of someone else's perspective. So many awful things could be shown to her, and while she wasn't desensitized, she was likelier to hold no sympathy for that person, beyond what they were worth.
”My guess is something as simple as their power, or those who would agree with her. A lot of the refugees seemed to be blaming these people with monkey tails for the troubles this planet has received.”
The question was who would willingly support the blonde, besides rich individuals who likely had no power of their own, and could hardly grasp just how big the universe actually was? That queen wasn't barred from entering this city, through the deal she had privately struck with her, but she wouldn't have said the girl exactly lived around here either. All that blonde had really knew, was that she had taken a chance on investigating what she had sensed.
It was curious that this girl here, didn't seem to be aware of the common planets that visited the earth, but nothing she couldn't play along to herself. The idea of the queen being well respected though, brought some laughter out of her. Those were just two things that didn't really go together.
”Respect is a strong word. I wasn't around myself when it had been announced, but the former queen announced this one as successor before she died, and now I hear the new queen supposedly has people fully backing that wish. Though you can see from those who hadn't left the planet, that wasn't true.”
It would be nothing short of laughable if it was. For someone like her to have power, and be unable to convince even one human from supporting her, would be nothing short of a massacre. The blonde was relying on the wish of the dead, and that kind of value would only diminish as time had went on.
Even those who agreed with the new queen's notion of using the Saiyans as scapegoats, they would get their comeuppance much sooner than they would have thought, following someone who lacked experience beyond what wealth she had. So many excuses for not fighting, rather than embracing why she should.
"The former queen had supposedly formed an agreement with the planet, along with Capsule Corp. Although only one of the two is practically retired, so you're correct that she took a chance in sending the refugees there, only to bring them back."
That much was clear when she had personally spoke with the blonde, and heard about her isolationist views. Earth could very well sustain the planet by itself with some help, but to possibly ban alien visitors in the first place, likely wasn't going to sit well at all, with people who were power houses.
But whatever happened after the coming battle, it would likely mark the end of the humans without the dragonballs, and the introduction of demons into society. On the off chance that the blonde somehow managed to strike an agreement with the Demon King she already made one with, there would be hell to pay.
To keep that blonde alive, when she had a wish to cause the girl's death through using them, was like following the orders of a child. Until that blonde got the idea that personal fighting was a necessity, along with overcoming other mistakes, she would never approve of this reign and would always fight against it. There was so many better candidates that could fulfill the position, than someone who sympathized so much with the humans.
"I suppose lack of room in the bunkers or supplies, could be another reason people were sent off world in the first place. Although it only goes to show how the new queen couldn't provide a stronger foundation."
That required so much more experience that the blonde just didn't have, and if extreme measures were really taken, would hopefully cause an uprising. Although it was still all the dependent on the blonde being alive after the coming battle. She envisioned herself mortals would take huge losses.
The difference was, those who tried to come and save a city that was likely never theirs in the first place, were likely those who had no importance to them. Who would miss them, when they were aiding a planet that didn't request its help, just because they were capable of providing such help?
That was one of the things that infuriated her about would be heroes. There was no merit in trying either, when it was just going to be a death that could be easily avoided. Those sort were fools to even believe they were obligated to do anything, but that was people acting on the whims of their nature for ya.
"There's no need to be dismissive of yourself. You're asking a lot of questions that I'm able to at least answer, which most fail to do."
It was usually something repetitive or painfully obvious, showing signs that they couldn't think for themselves, or were too stubborn to even change their mindset. She understood that backgrounds tended to shape who a person was, but there was only so much sympathy around that could be given to fools.
"Feelings of sentimental value or not, it's arguable on whether it's a wise decision to struggle, until repairs are done. Though I get why one would think there are perks to enduring."
Preparation for any future invasions being one of them. But in her eyes, it was still odd to choose living in a bunker, over a nice capsule home. There was so much comfort that could be had, and just wasn't taken, due to their own stubborness than anything else. Any discomfort was their own fault.
Rumors were always going to happen to be an interesting subject. Good ones tended to hold some truth to one, but that was dependent on experiencing that situation personally. And all of this talk that she heard of before, couldn't have been more wrong with the details. Though she wasn't expecting much from someone who likely cowered away in the first place, while things were going on. What mattered was that those of importance got the details right.
"I've heard several of these rumors, and can't help but always think some of these refugees are fooling themselves, if that is what's keeping them from visiting. It shows you have a good head to not easily buy into it."
It could have possibly also been that blonde who had spreaded these kind of rumors, just so she would get much less support. That wouldn't have surprised her in the slightest, but it was hardly also as detrimental as the new queen would think, if it was actually true. More of a weak excuse than anything.
The struggle this girl seemed to deal with was interesting, if she really was the kind of being she believed her to be, with only morals possibly getting in the way of a life without hardship. Though nothing that wouldn't wind up being a phase in the end, as it had been with her, way back then.
An eyebrow was raised, and her lips had slightly pursed, as she listened to the girl the idea of a thirst triggering. But as she continued on, it became more clearer that they weren't just all words to be put off or ignored. All of this stuff about tasting and the like. What was more impressive though, was being able to gauge her own power rather accurately, and the hint that she had been exposed to power higher than what she had felt personally.
At least, it had seemed to be more than just a bystander basis. This talk about drooling and the like though, was adorable, if not a bit obvious. But with how people were nowadays, she might have likely just been seen as some kind of eccentric girl, than anyone who was really trying to feast on blood.
"Your assessment is spot on, though unless you're holding back, or have some kind of formed alliance, getting close to this sort of power is dangerous in any other circumstance."
There was further talk about another rumor about her specifically, and one that also didn't have her shying away from laughter. The act of bathing in blood to retain beauty? Why would any Vampire bother doing such a thing, when they were ageless beings? Forever to look like the age they turned, unless they were strong enough to will their appearance to change form. It certainly wasn't a bad trade off, ignoring the lust that could come from feasting on blood.
"People certainly come up with the strangest of rumors, and I would say your personal experiences are one of the failures of being too cautious. Driving someone away in such a manner, would only pave the road to hate, for plenty kinds of people."
The bow had been unexpected, especially since she hadn't really affirmed anything of herself, although it wasn't going to be one she would oppose. This amount of respect was already interesting as is, for someone who seemed to be so new to their world, if what she heard really were full of struggles.
"Wonderful. It's a bit of a walk there, but I don't suppose you'd mind continuing to share more of your situation? It'd be troubling to hear if this isn't more than the hardships of a wanderer."
The suitcase the girl had been strolling along with her was gestured towards, with a bit of a question on what the girl had already revealed about herself. What she had in mind for this whole recruitment, was more of an excuse to have lunch together, but it was no trouble in providing some kind of relief.
They were practically kin, and there was so much she had to share in private.
"Ah, tourists, a fun way to call invaders, but I guess we have to be thankful to effort of some people that kicks them away... But I'd rather have them leave us be, though," Alluca would say solemnly. "I mean, it's one thing about hero, I do think they're admirable somewhat but... it'll be better if there are no hero, you know? If there are no hero then there are no villain. In the end, morality is what make you see a villain and a hero. Moral is what decide what's right and what's wrong. The question is where your morality stood? As earthling we see invaders as something to fear, meanwhile to invaders who have a half destroyed planet would probably put their hope on the invading forces as hero. In the end, that's my feeling. I thank them because I benefit from them, that I stayed alive. However, I'd rather there is no villains or heroes to begin with. Personal feud should stay personal--of course this is impossible. The more power you have and the bigger is the stake, the more you'll be painted as villain or hero... so please don't mind me."
Talk about twilight... huh? "...I wonder, how would it looks like?" she would suddenly say. Perhaps it would be shocking that someone has never seen a twilight before. "...I don't really remember whether I have seen a twilight in my life before, or how it looked like. I only seen it in painting once. Art can be deceiving. How can I tell whether a depiction is accurate or not if I have never seen it? Illustrations are meant to help us to understand at times, but when I saw the painting, I kept wondering how would it truly like. Does it looks red like blood? Or orange like a tangerine? What sort of creature that are out? Bats? Moths? Birds perhaps? What sort of sound that I could hear? I heard it appears somewhere around 5PM to 6PM, yet for some reason all I see is just faint gold, nothing as grand as that. I gave up afterward and focused myself on more important fun."
Their talk moved to the ambition of the queen--but this one made Alluca snickers. "Power? Really? From this planet that got invaded by alien a lot? As much as glory seem to be tempting, I swear blood would pour out of my skin like sweat before I would even dream about wearing that crown of huge stress. I guess people wouldn't even care about your excuses when you screw up too much. They'll brand you as an incompetent queen, that would definitely run in history. People, I found, only cares about stuff that benefits them and stuff that did not benefit them. They usually cares more about the latter than the former, and they'll blame it to the government anyway, unless they have blind loyalty. If people are puppet, then it's likely, but I don't believe most people are that stupid. What power is there to wield, I wonder and what for? Revenge? I hope it's not just for riches or because she want someone to kiss the ground where she walk because I'd be so tempted to punch the queen if she takes the post just for the riches or stupid things like making her worth well known. Oh right, those people with tails... Saiyan is it? In the end they're just normal as normal people up to their upbringing. They're overgeneralizing matters I feel. There is something that they want is why this planet is always invaded. I'm beginning to think there's some intergalactic treasure hidden here. Might as well as cast it out if it's such a problem for this planet."
It's not that simple though, and the girl did not know this.
...But from the laugh she heard from the other girl, this... this is rich. The queen did not have full support? "...In my limited common sense knowledge, I feel like you need three things to claim the throne... Legitimacy, military power, and charisma. If I don't misread your tone, it's as if you're saying as if this queen does not even have the charisma and just came because someone died and tossed the crown at her," she guessed. If this proven to be right, the girl would probably laugh hysterically at such notion, thinking how LUCKY she was to not going to Bris at the moment. "...And then she sent refugee to Bris... without asking whether the deal is still on or something? I really hope that's not the case..." ...if it's true then she would probably laugh even harder, probably enough to make someone around her looking at her funny.
Ahh, dear her. "...There should be easier way to get out from disaster rather than interplanetary transportation, dear me..." she muttered. "All that money you can invest on food and place to stay like new bunker instead and probably quell all the anger the people are feeling... Yes, they're discontent, but... but at least they're home is what I felt. What would the good be if they're sent to other planet with all those aliens probably not liking all these refugees? Why can't the food came from other planet instead of WE going there? It's much more better for the two sides too..."
Aahhh, all of this hurts head more than she thought. So what if they're indebted? At least she'll have more solid support from the people like that, right? She can hardly believe what she's hearing at the moment.
"I'd rather say that quelling inner discontent and panic from the loss of previous queen would be the most crucial one before the queen tried to evacuate everyone there though... And hearing your explanation made me think they missed that step somehow..."
...If all of this are proven to be true... God, she had no idea whether she want to cry or laugh.
Good head to not buy it? "I'm actually as paranoid as them previously, so I did not send the refugees I was with here and decided to see the truth myself. Rather than a good head, I'm more of someone who loves to live dangerously~ ...Jokes aside, it's more that I'm with orphaned kids from east city's destruction and the mother of a good friend. I can't really send them here without knowing what actually happening in here, so here I am, in flesh! I think it was a good thing to scout though."
It does make her a bit proud to be praised, though. Alluca sticks out her chest with an "ehen~". Even so, when it comes to alliance or holding something back. "...Nope, don't even have a mean to suppress my power, nor I'm in alliance. I mean, like I said, I lived quite dangerously. I had to protect human kids and a mother. What guarantee is there a kin won't go for them? I developed quite a liking for them. I don't want them to die, you see, or turn them... that'd be a bigger pain. Then we'll need more than one deer a day just for the blood... So I find letting them stay human would be more beneficial. I luckily haven't clashed with any vampires yet, but I've placed a ward and several traps around the site just in case. Got some escape routes too in case of such thing happened."
...Honestly, nowadays she kinda hoped her trap would catch some naughty bandits that tried to raid food storage or something. That would be delicious at the very least, more than deer or rabbit or hell squirrels or worst, rat.
"Walking does not bother me. It's a pleasure to spend time with someone who at least appreciate my presence."
The motion to her suitcase suddenly reminded her of why it's there. "Ah right, this, is just some cosmetic stuffs." She opened it to reveal the content, which, as she said, cosmetics, clothes, hair extensions... it was honestly so baffling that someone is this carefree to bring just that. At least until she slipped her hand to a secret compartment inside the suitcase, pulling a pouch covered with aluminium foil. She popped the straw and drink the content. What is it? Blood of course. Deer.
"...Deers tastes nice, but I'm so tired of it lately. But anything is better than pig."
Her situation? Hmmm, where she should start?
"I guess I should... Let's see... how about when we arrive there instead? I don't think it should be something that should be talked about in open."
When they're arrived to their destination and seated, Alluca would once again open her suitcase to reveal an aged clothes. it's close to 100 if not 200 years old, very torn, very old, with hints of faded blood. Its design actually looks like it belonged to a royal, but what sort, that is the question. "...Well, then once again, pleasure to meet you, Milady. My name is Alluca Arcus... I might be sixteen, fifteen, fourteen... or maybe even a hundred or two... I wouldn't know really. I don't have clear idea of it. All I remembered was a damp shed somewhere. Whether I was turned recently then I wouldn't know. All I know is I have a straw bed, bad leakage on wall, clothes on my body and... meal. Meal you say, but it's more of a prison meal to me. I was kept starved. All I remembered was that pig blood came to me everytime I'm close to death... then it send me to frenzy, over and over again because I'm still starving. I don't bother to count how many times it would appear. I can't really count the time too. The more I think, the more I would starve myself faster. I hate it, the sensation of losing myself to bloodthirst. I hate every single thing about those times. My savior were rats. Apparently there were rats breeding in that room. So I blew whatever hole they're hiding in and decided to eat them. Anything to extend my period of sanity. Afterward, I start practicing my blood magic..." as she said this, she cut a bit of her index finger. From the open wound, she manifested a key. "I escaped with this. But surprise, nothing actually there. No wonder the pig blood ain't coming for long. Nothing on top of the basement.
So I escaped, with just my name, clothes on my body, and thirst for blood. I learned how to shapeshift into animal, and then drink as much blood as I can. Then the disaster on East City happened... I fostered in some surviving kids, at first thinking to use them as cattle. But then, for some reason they starting to interest me more than for food. I can't bring myself to drink their blood and nearly starved myself again until I found a half Saiyan. It was... It was exciting, to drink blood of someone ten times stronger than me. Well, he got really angry afterward, and I was lucky he's too depressed to even harm me. We're funnily a good friend now, but at any rate, that was my story. He's gone, to Bris apparently, to get reunited with his mother. I guess he'll return here one day once he know his mother is not there." WC: 1891
Subtly was sorely needed in plenty of places, with habits being the reason it continued to appear outside of the workplace. Unless it became truly apparent it was pointless, or the person was undeserving, she felt it better to be more tactful about the words she used, when referring to certain things or events.
Calling the aliens who visited this planet 'tourists' was one of them, but it was also practically an insult, knowing they were likely to be out of place on this planet. There were much more direct words, but for someone of her power to go for that, it would make her much easier to read than anything.
Her feelings on one matter or another, didn't need to even be that straightforward and direct, when her tone was usually enough to speak for itself. Although it was only when referring to the new queen, did her voice really carry a tone that she was displeased about things. There was no real justification at all in what that blonde did, and she took satisfaction in being able to somewhat tell her side of the story, or her perspective.
”Many of them do what they wish upon gaining an ounce of power, correct. Although the best approach with that would be giving their leader an ultimatum, and possibly gain resources in return.”
On the topic of their frequent visitors, she would say it was too late to really kick one race beings out, due to the number of hybrids across the universe, that she had already met personally. Some of them might have been born on this planet, but it was always possible some form of attachment could develop.
Plenty of beings were usually capable of being sympathetic, which could explain why earth and some of its past defenders, haven't always been native to the planet. It wasn't their duty to do anything to help out, but expecting to beat stubbornness through reason, just wasn't something which was likely.
”But I get what you mean about morality being an issue. I've met a few individuals that would rather have someone be solely good or solely bad, as if it's really an issue to use one's own strength for personal desires.”
That must have meant this girl was more of a neutral party then, rather than someone who just clung to one side. Which was more beneficial in her eyes, knowing of things that could from them interacting in the future or otherwise. Though it wasn't as if this strawberry blonde was a threat just yet.
If she had a preference not to be around the tourists who visited the planet in the first place, then that had only meant she likely catered to her own interests more, than what could be expected of her. The carefree personality she was seeing, only really encouraged that sort of belief.
Twilight skies, she wouldn't have said was really unusual not to see in person. There was an uncommon existence of double rainbows as well, and both were often captured in photographs by someone who did have the fortune to see it. But it was an enjoyable experience to see personally.
"It's an easy sight to miss if you're busy, or somewhere without a clear view. The sense of peace that comes with it, can be enough to briefly forget even the annoyances of any wild life or personal troubles."
The mind this girl had, was certainly one she would have said was artistic in a sense, with the questions that popped up which not many would have likely considered. But that was a big part of life in the first place, having to run into people and situations that opened up new ideas and other things.
No matter what came out of talking to this girl in the end, she could at least be able to say she had found another person, who would disagree with the new queen's way of things. The snicker that came from this one, was a delight to see, along with the upmost refusal the girl had to follow that blonde.
”It goes to show how prepared she really is for certain, having to still seek out strength. I can only assume if she manages to, and this group fails, then the public can truly see the kind of person she is.”
Because last she had checked, when she had personally met the girl, those who were important to the blonde, had been on Planet Bris. Which was strange, and gave hint to the kind of power they must have really held, if they needed to possibly protect the refugees, or were at least had meant to. According to her Majin however, the Kold Demon that they had knew, had informed them there had been no real struggles, when the alien had killed off the refugees there.
Somehow, the blonde would likely twist things to where it could be used as a defense, although the question was how many people would actually buy such nonsense, knowing they were likely to be in distress and with the thoughts of their dead families. Would there truly be any morale to be had?
"Whoever does decide to follow her loyally, I have my doubts they wouldn't regret their decision down the line. Leadership has its struggles, and I've heard enough about the queen to know she lacks the experience."
The way she had referred to the Saiyans, had been under the role she was more or less currently playing as, pretending to just be human. Although a smile had came upon hearing the girl actually knew who she was referring to. It made her all the more curious about this one's life, and her knowledge of beings.
"There's some truth to that, if you consider the kinds of hybrids there are. I've met enough to know they don't all have tails."
Even if this one was lacking in knowledge of just how many different beings Saiyans really got together with, she wasn't in other areas. To be able to recognize certain qualities of leadership and be so honest about her own perspective on things, really didn't fail to kick up her mood.
Someone other than the Elemi woman she had met, was actually seeing the issue here. None of what she said about the blonde had really been false, as far as she was able to see from the girl. That dead kitsune's favor was where most of her crutch of confidence was, and the belief she had everyone's support.
"Correct. My co-workers and I, along with some friends, have ensured she doesn't fully have everyone's support. They've heard of her ideas and agree it did rely on a few things any other leader wouldn't."
It was just outright laughter from this one now, and this was great. In regards to the deal with Bris now, she knew for sure any supplies from them were controlled through Capsule Corp. The Majin had also informed her how the group really had just taken a chance in sending them to Bris than Namek.
"She essentially took advantage of their neutrality, as in their eyes, this planet was better than one filled with Saiyans."
The more they had talked about the new queen and her emergency decision in keeping the refugees onto Bris, after the Tree of Might incident had been over with, the more this girl had seemed to click on the kind of ideas that she had thought of as well. Discontent really would have been more beneficial.
West City had managed to survive after all, as the Tree of Might had only struck certain cities. Knowing an attack had never really came on it as well, should have really supported and encouraged the idea of moving here. But that was a late decision now, and the public would find out sooner or later.
"That was my thought too, hearing about it. West City had never gotten attacked during this incident that forced them to move off planet, so it says quite a few things they chose to ignore a city's shelter. All this place had dealt were some tremors."
It was stubbornness that had really got in the way of that though, or panic where it shouldn't have been. Even when she had been on Namek, this city wasn't without its protection, having her allies watching over it, and who had helped put people in the bunkers underground here. Those who couldn't overcome that, it was no wonder that humans would likely be at their end, thanks to her playing a role in things. A bit disappointing to hear this one had taken so long.
"Understandable. There are plenty of other though, who haven't taken the same chance, and see this place for themselves."
The people this one was looking after, it seems had yet to actually do that. But she might have been able to change the girl's mind before the day had ended. It all really depended on this one's thoughts on certain things, when they had gotten a chance to really talk in private together.
"Well I hope you can find the confidence you're looking for, to have them be somewhere with better shelter."
As the girl had continued to speak about those who were under her protection, describing that she drank the blood of deer, her eyes had widened upon hearing the reason. It wasn't strange for one of their own kind not to choose drinking human blood, either because they couldn't get it, or some other means.
Although to do it because the girl had a fear they would turn, wasn't something she would have figured she would hear. More so than this one not knowing how to suppress her power, which was needed if one were to have Refined Control over their bloodlust. She guessed this girl truly had yet to master it then.
"It seems you've been a bit too cautious then. They would have to be willing to turn, upon drinking their blood, for them to become more than human. Although depending on their own strength, you'd still be likely to wait 8 weeks, for them to recover what was taken from them."
Donating blood, one had to normally wait 8 weeks to recover. Which meant draining enough to fill a medical pouch would require them needing to rest that long, if they weren't strong enough for more to be taken. Although in the end, it would never be enough of blood, the stronger one had gotten.
To be able to avoid other covens though, was impressive on this one's part. But she did also order a ceasefire some time ago, which likely played a role in this being a possibility. Anyone who tried to hunt their own kin, would wind up being forced to live as bats, by the power of her compulsion.
"I might have played a role in that, making a 100 year ceasefire a reality. I suppose you haven't heard about a certain tournament for the universe then."
Nothing that she would be able to tell at this moment, so long as they were out here. But that would change when they were inside Capsule Corp, where it didn't matter who would overhear them. Unless they were willing to lose their job and more for an approach to ethics, betrayal wasn't likely.
"Many do tend to misunderstand, what it means for a group of beings to have a shared hierarchy. There are much worst practices than something that can't be controlled."
This thirst for blood was never going to die out. There would also never be enough of a fill, once one had grew stronger down the line. Only enough to not feel any hunger pains from a lack of blood, as hunger is much more likely to be controlled, knowing it could never really be anything satisfactory.
Cosmetics had also been an unexpected sight to see within that suitcase. She had figured there would be clothing, so it really showed that this girl might have really been a wanderer, or at least held her items back in East City, if that was where she was staying. It wasn't bad to travel light.
"It would do well for you, to taste the blood of those stronger than common animals. It lasts much longer."
The story this one had to tell, must have been a long one, if she wanted to be sure no one would hear them. She could have easily just run them to Capsule Corp, making the world nothing but a blur behind them, though she really did have more of a preference into just walking all the way there instead.
Time had still managed to pass quickly enough, the tall and dome shaped building of Capsule Corp, she hoped to have been a surprise, never having really confirmed that she was the CEO. They weren't really greeted upon arriving, if only because the workers here knew how she could be when angry.
"Make sure the tables in the cafeteria will be clear around us."
"Understood, Ms. Date."
That was where she had figured would be the best place for it. One of the good things about secretly being the head of a corporation, was that the dining really was amazing. The rotating courses were well made, and something one would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant, than a regular cafeteria.
There were other workers around upon entering, but the worker she had talked to, with some gestures, made it clear they should be spread out from her. What this girl could possibly want, she knew she could get it. Though it might be a bit of a wait, if the workers here really had to get the ingredients.
"This place likely has a lot of cuisine you could think of. And if not, then it can get it, with some wait."
She wasn't planning on eating anything but oyakodon herself, even knowing anything this place could serve. But it wasn't as if they really needed to consume more than blood in the first place. She only required several vials now and again, rather than what newer Vampires might have actually needed themselves.
As they began to actually talk about this one's situation, she only grew more curious hearing it. This girl couldn't really remember how old she was, so there must have been amnesia at play here. Which was unfortunate, looking at this dated clothing, which clearly held some kind of nobility to it.
This friend she knew, who apparently also had gone to Bris, was something unfortunate to hear. If he actually made it there on time, and was one of the refugees, then he might have likely died. Although it was still possible he was alive, depending on his age in the first place, and knowledge of space pods.
Either way, it would be unfortunate to hear the news of, and she needed to know a bit more about this girl, before even raising that question up. She supposed if things had gone rather fortunately, then this information would be revealed, or the girl could just find out later herself if he was.
"Amnesia's certainly not a struggle to laugh at. It's unfortunate you can't remember, as I can recall my own was only several years ago. It helps to have a coven, which it doesn't seem had happened with you."
Still, with or without one, this girl had found a new life for herself in the end. And it was better to accept that, than to take such a thing for granted. The right people with the right power, could easily take that life of hers away, in just the blink of an eye. Death could be swift and fast.
"I suppose you've thought about things enough on the way here, to know who I truly am, and what control I hold?"
She had already given hints here and there, most noticeably from how much she knew about the new queen, that even a normal Capsule Corp worker really wouldn't. Or even how a regular Vampire, wouldn't be able to cause a 100 year ceasefire, even with all the support that they could get.
Either way, she had let her power slip and her appearance change into that of a Matriarch, which was quite possible thanks to the blood magic in her, shaping itself to her will. She was very likely to remain in this form for the remainder of their time together, if only as an emphasis she was no child.
The ground had shook beneath them, for the slightest of seconds, and what weight that power had naturally carried, grew more than double heavier. But it had all gone away as she had suppressed her power back down to where her base originally was, as she was more than capable of collapsing the planet without it.
"I'd still like to introduce myself formally as Rukia Date, The Queen of Vampires, whether you do or not. You've seem to have had so many struggles that I'm willing to offer advice on. Though the one I must inform the most, is how there's much less of a thirst for blood when one is stronger."
TWC: 8,036 Thread PL, as Matriarch [x25] is active: Briefly powered up to 12,553,200, before being suppressed back down to 502,128.
“Really?” She would ask “But doing that would make you need to match the “tourists” power? Sure there are heroes, but you’ll need these “heroes” to be on your side to begin with. I believe it’s not something that the current queen have, don’t you agree? To forces an ultimatum only works if you’re stronger, or have something that can be used as trump card… I believe that wouldn’t be so easy.”
She did notice the way the other party is displeased with with the queen. It’s so obvious on her tone that she is sure if it’s any more obvious, only something short of yelling and cursing like a sailor would top that out. She agreed though. If what she heard so far matches with what she’s seeing, then surely the queen doesn’t really have the caliber to her. It’s a pitiful thing, but at the very least she would hope that even more competent person would be chosen after all this fiasco ended.
She arched her eyebrow when she heard that someone actually have that sort of point of view though… black and white. It doesn’t seem like the type that loyal to their kingdom, planet, or country, or something along that line, but someone who merely push their ideal to someone else. A fool, she believes.
“Solely good and solely bad, is, pardon for my french, is beyond idiotic and borderline brainless. If someone told that to my face, I’ll probably laugh on their face--no, I would laugh so hard on their face and probably scorn them afterward. Don’t tell me that they believe if someone become a saint they could save everyone, or make everyone like them? That’s stupid. Even a messiah would probably have tons of people hates them to the bone. In the end, morality is complex, and you should just accept there are people who is not entirely good or not entirely bad. Just what sort shade of grey would someone have is the question.”
Still, looks like the brown haired girl truly loved these so called time of twilight. “Ah, perhaps if time would be so kind, we’ll have a time where we could see that so called twilight together. Maybe some tea and snack would go well with that.”
Alluca honestly wondered just where the logic in this new queen is. Unpreparedness seem to be severely weighing her regime. Won’t she gone down in history as the most logically deficit of all ruler of all time? “I’ll keep asking why she’s not leading her foundation instead. Even if she were to be a back up queen, at least she should have a backup plan from the previous queen. I question her preparedness. From history of mankind, a ruler that keep giving excuse and not admit their own mistake will have public discontent backfired on them. Meanwhile a leader that keep apologizing will be seen as uncharismatic. A balance of both is the key… although I doubt that the queen knows that.”
Experience is it? “Experience is crucial, but I feel like she did not see enough of how a monarch would rule. That and added with the fact that her coronation came out of sudden. From what you said it felt like she’s more useful as a puppet rather than as a proper ruler. Admittedly, I would wonder who would risk to use her as a puppet now that her popularity all but gone to drain. Risking to control her at this moment probably only do more harm than good. Replace her probably, and reinstate a new queen… most preferable from a trusted source. With the old queen died and the new queen incompetent, I can see public would have distaste of queen that came out of nowhere, so I would suggest... something like CC Corps CEO came to mind.”
The way the other girl seem to know that some Saiyan are tailless made Alluca wonder if she know some of these saiyan halfbreed personally.
“Mine doesn’t have a tail, that close friend of mine I mean. His father, in his will, however, mentioned that he was born with one, hence why I think it refers to saiyan.”
Not only she laughed this time around when it was revealed that her fear had came true, she totally nearly doubled over from laughing so hard. She can’t believe this, all of her guess hit its mark? “Praise whatever holy or unholy. I’m so glad my friend’s mother was so concerned of her husband and her son to even go to Bris.” She really can’t blame someone to be xenophobic from experience, but to just rely on “because my predecessor said this and this” was completely careless. “...And then? I feel like the story doesn’t end just there… it sounded like there is something crucial happening out there.”
On topic about better shelter, she nodded. “I think I might wait until two more days before sending them here. I just don’t have any means to contact my friend if something happened, so I thought it would be beneficial to wait in place where he would first look for us. Granted, I’m very familiar with his ki, so the moment he entered the orbit, I could easily sniff him out… It’s just my selfishness. Please allow me this much.”
...Although, hearing about the blood problem made her own eyes widened in shock. That would means that if she’s turned, she had accepted that she were to be turned. At the same time, she could see the kids would get afraid of her too. Even if she would ask them to donate their blood, it would be scary too if she were to get addicted to their flavor. What if she woke up hungry and then just… bite them directly? Won’t they become afraid of her? She felt completely anxious of such possibilities.
“...I’ll commit that to memory,” she answered.
The thing about the role did not escape the vampire in chic clothing. She decided to whisper her reply this time around. “I have kind of guessed that. There is no way that someone important as CC Corps CEO would be just a normal vampire. At the very least… a leader of a coven, is what I thought. But never I thought she would hold something of a rank far exceeding my thought.”
Stronger beings though… “Unfortunately, I haven’t found anything like that. I heard there are some dinosaurs or huge lizards on the wasteland, but my distaste of the sun and the heat prevented me from going at it for real… I ever saw someone who was under the tower… Korin’s Watch, was it? The guy was quite strong, far more than my own friend. I wanted to taste his blood, but I was too weak, so it’s a bit unfortunate. He seem to have inkling what I am…”
She found out the terror she sniffed from the workers to be funny. They know who she is, she guessed? It was quite nice to smell dread here. But the main attraction was the cafeteria. It was completely exceeding anything she thought the CEO would bring her to. Talk about a massive privilege. A lux diner? Toss that out. This thing is seriously the best thing she had ever experienced in this new life of hers. Excitement washed over her as she wordlessly takes photo of the place, after promising that it will stay private with her. After done with taking photos, she would sit in front of Rukia.
Anything, huh… Alluca’s smile widened. “...Well, then, I’d like… a strong person’s blood, directly from the person themselves. Age, gender, it doesn’t matter. I’d love for them to be healthy.” This was mostly a joke, but there’s an ounce of seriousness there. She must be really curious about how good a human would taste.
Her story was met with some form of seriousness from the CEO, something that she was glad for. She really hope she wouldn’t be seen as a madwoman for ranting about how she was practically kept as a pet and had to eat something like rat to survive. It was a miracle that she is completely fine from that. Does diseases still affects vampires? If it is then she swore she got out of it easy.
...Still, the moment the vampire queen transformed, added with how she introduce herself suddenly made the girl clutches her head. Martriarch? That title… was so familiar, and at the same time, so far away and felt like a mere story. She wanted to appear dignified, to bow to the queen in front of her in better way, but it only made her slip and instead fell to the floor.
There was always going to be a need to catch up in power.
Those who didn't, could easily be left behind, paving the way for others to catch up. Depending also on the power that one had, it wouldn't be so easy to become one of the powerhouses, without some kind of special training. But such a thing was rare, and would still require time for growth.
The body could only take so much damage to the muscles, before any signs of improvement could be seen at all. Though with how many people were so alien in nature, and visited this planet, the rate of growth would surely tended to differ. She knew herself, that their kind could grow in power, through drinking blood. To really see and feel any results though, it would have to be both rather fresh, and coming from someone stronger than the average population.
But if one needed to grow in power so desperately in the first place, then it was true they wouldn't be able to force an ultimatum. Something which the new queen of earth had shown she was incapable of doing, if the blonde had merely taken a chance, and gone to Bris, instead of somewhere like Namek.
"Correct, but that should only be expected from the queen of a planet. If the new queen can't form some kind of agreement with these invaders, it only supports how unfit she is."
Ultimatums didn't even have to be as forceful as it can be, either. With or without that blonde swordsman on Namek, treating her like something to be cautious about, she would have likely been able to establish an agreement with the Saiyans there, regardless. She had the power to do so then, and it would have been a loss on their part, not to have make use of it in some way. But she didn't hold the kind of cowardice that blonde queen had.
The arched eyebrow that came from the other Vampire, really did emphasize the kind of intelligence this one had, to not only see things her way, but come up with her own questions. As someone who had argued back and forth with the blonde queen, until it became apparent that girl could do nothing but repeat back things she had already said, it wasn't likely at all she couldn't entirely come into an agreement with this one, on a few certain matters.
"And you would be right for it. One of the individuals, happened to believe I was like someone she hated, and imposed her feelings onto me, as to why I shouldn't be trusted. I had something she could never get immediately, but struck a deal with her half-brother because of it. Another individual had ignored the warnings of a superior, and had tried to harm me in a driven rage. Believes himself to be good, and that he has done nothing wrong."
Both the situations in question were extremely watered down to rather human situations, but the gist of things were still there. Cambia, the blonde swordsman on Namek, hated Caesar so much, she was absolutely willing to accuse her of being like him. It only made the Remnant Alliance's Overseer, to feel sympathetic for her, and allow the both of them to form an alliance. But the inexperienced male Saiyan, also played a role in that just as well.
Despite being told by the Namekian Guardians that her challenge to the Guru was accepted, even if the approach was more direct than what they were used to, he had still gone into a rage. What made him even worse than the swordsman however, was that the blonde had actually stopped fighting her, unlike this guy.
"If you happen to relax at all, if this city had another invasion put on it, then they would be upset, yes. Probably even start up rumors about your morality, because they expect you to somehow help. Imagine having to be forcibly enlisted into battle, just because of strength."
Just because she had power, didn't mean she had to really use it. Possessing it in the first place, only meant that she could be more influential, than she would if she had only been some regular civilian. But so many people didn't understand that, and expected her to fight for something she didn't desire enlisting in, just because she had the strength to change the tide of a battle. Her favor would have to beneficial to even do so at all.
Tea and snacks, were really the most normal of a past time she probably could have thought of, in this moment. Something that although could be shared with just about anybody, she could only enjoy with her own kind. A burden that came with having to take on responsibilities of leading an entire race.
"I don't have doubts it wouldn't. It's difficult for food and drink to go wrong."
Beyond forgetting to actually bring the supplies, at least. The sight of twilight wasn't particularly something one needed to really go out of their way for either. Just a decent view without much obstruction to it. The value in it had certainly meant well, even if so many simple things in life could delay it.
There were a lot of things she could have assumed, as to why the blonde's rule, was a lot weaker than the girl had thought it was. The most simple had to have been what must be a sheltered life. It wasn't difficult at all, to form a much stronger claim for the title of queen, with the right army.
"The new queen might be sheltered, is my best guess overall. So many workplaces at least introduce a team of some sort."
It could have simply been the introduction of a few people she had as apart of staff, which was nothing new in any other job. To make some kind of excuse that it could be a danger to their families or something, only encouraged the idea she was unfit for ruling, as they could have also been some fake team.
The idea of the blonde being a puppet, would have only worked, if the girl wasn't stubborn, and was more submissive. Which would have undoubtedly been someone she could have somewhat got along with, ignoring how infuriating it would be, to allow such naivety into that important of a position.
Even more better however, was actually hearing this one believe she would have made a better fit for the position. This would be the second time she had heard of this from an outsider, and undoubtedly could be even more, if her alliances could really be contacted without traveling off the planet.
"Her being a puppet leader would work, if she didn't seem to be so stubborn, in the decisions seen so far. Though I would agree those of a higher position, would be much better suited."
A smile had came from hearing this one's suggestion, filling her with the kind of content that would have normally been shared, with those she had knew from home. Rapport wasn't essentially difficult to build up in most instances, but it was truly enjoyable when it had came to those of her own kind.
"If he had surgical removal, then I don't blame him for it. This planet surely has mixed opinions about hybrids, though there's no reason to be afraid, being around the right people."
She couldn't really say what the reason would be, for removing something natural for the body. Even if it were due to the grievances that could come with prejudice, it was a mistake in the first place to try going to regular school, if that was where most of the problem was. It wasn't as if a tail wasn't something that couldn't have been easily hidden either, or excused as some kind of fashion sense, bringing to light the idea of cosplay as a thing.
"If her only confidence really comes from her predecessor, I can only imagine how long it'd be, before the old queen is nothing more than a memory, if this new one ever enacts anything unfavorable."
There was only so much humanity could tolerate in general, before they would fight back through an uprising. The departure and return from Bris, wasn't an awful reception, but it was only a matter of time before the blonde was constantly forced to do something, given the right opportunities for that to occur.
The nod that came from this one, upon raising the question of those she knew, had been returned with an answer of delaying that kind of transportation. Nothing which was truly that big of a deal, considering how the coming battle with the demons, likely wouldn't be for a little while longer.
"It's no trouble at all."
Though it was rather curious that those who were likely alien in nature, or weren't modernized, would lack something as simple as communication. She would hardly be able to make do without a phone at the end of the day, with the kind of uses that it held. But some would also say technology can be addictive.
So perhaps it was better off they continue going about their lives like this. It didn't seem like it really conflicted with things too much, other than hoping for the well being of those this one had knew. Hope was so very much an idea, out of one's grasp, compared to what it really could be.
The kind of shock that this one held, upon hearing of how feeding on blood worked, was certainly understandable. Although the response for it was rather lacking in confidence in ways that didn't just make it out to be because of disbelief. But it wasn't anything she would push just yet though.
"Wonderful. Anyone else could easily assume, though they wouldn't have proof, nor would any of the businesses around would care, if you only knew how corrupt they can be. Know how much they rely on Capsule Corp."
Some kind of blackmail about her position, was another thing she had figured the blonde queen could have tried to use against her, but wouldn't have worked, with becoming a whistleblower easily making it difficult to find a job. Businesses dependent on Capsule Corp, would never dare to even do such a thing.
It was adorable the response was said so quietly though, as well as showing how much awareness this girl actually had to her. She could have so easily shouted in surprise, much like some fool, who was spooked by the slightest of things. As another Vampire especially, no one that obvious would survive.
"It's well worth looking into. I've had a few late night hunting back then, when I was around a little higher than your level of power, that became just enough to allow Refined Control over these urges. Though I understand the fear that could come with going into a blood frenzy."
An unending thirst for blood that likely wouldn't stop without some kind of physical violence. Or at the very least, had felt that way. The kind of energy that came from it, was certainly amazing, and was the very first thing that made Fledglings understand just why their turning might have been a mistake.
This guy supposedly from Korin's Tower though, was certainly an interesting thing to hear. It couldn't have been Galen, knowing she didn't feel his signature in ages. So this must have been someone else, who surely had no right to be there. Not like he was probably any different from any other tourist.
"A lot of people tend to go there, climbing the tower rather than fly, as training. Though this seems like something more and much different. Did you happen to get his name? I know for sure the one formerly looking over that place, hasn't been around for a long while."
The photos that this one had taken, really was something charming to see. There was just so much personality here, and never failed to remind her just how much lower Vampires had it easier. Those of their kind who even tried disagreeing with her rule, she never failed to emphasize the responsibilities that she and the others had to carry. It shut up the smart ones that could see that viewpoint, while the rest were punished and forced to live as bats.
Directly, huh? I have vials as well, but if you wish to have it straight from the source, the best I can offer would be a business partner of mine, which I last remember clocking at a power level of 20,000. Though he hates people in general, and second best would be my cousin and personal cooks, at a power level of 5,000."
42 days and cooled in a refrigerator, was essentially the amount of time that samples of blood could be stored. 10 years if it was frozen instead, although there were some health concerns, for any human. She preferred the former over the latter, even if stocking up for longer, could be necessary.
There wasn't really too many humans she knew of that were really strong, beyond Galen. So many of those who looked human, turned out to be hybrids of sorts, which were much easier to get a taste of, in regards to strength. Humans could be strong, but they really weren't natural ones as they could be.
It was this one suddenly falling over from her chair, did an eyebrow raise up, and she had gotten up from her seat. Several of the workers that were around, didn't hesitate to help out either, carefully picking the girl up, and try to place her back on the chair that had fallen. One of their own fainting from what was likely her presence, was certainly a first. If she didn't wake up either, they would have to move to the small nursery in this building.
"You've certainly been a first for a lot of things today. I can only really hope, we can come to some kind of agreement, before this is all over."
She spoke out loud as she had propped the girl up, so that the Vampire's chin was resting onto her arms, which was over the other. The workers that had helped out left, and her oyakodon had arrived, along with a bag of ice. Good. They weren't ignorant enough not to have heard that commotion.
The bag had lied next to the girl's arm, as she ate her meal, knowing this one should have been strong enough to wake herself up.

There's indeed a point in making some sort of ultimatum to invader. However, at the same time, the queen lacked it. From her talk with this person, she knew that. "...The queen is lacking power, so I feel rather than making ultimatum, she should build her foundation first. Sure prevention is good, but as long as you can't do preventive measure because your own unpreparedness, I feel it's better to do the next step. Repelling. For that you need to consolidate the relation IN your planet instead of planet outside... Which mean, the leader of each cities and the world's fighters, you need to gain their good side. However, from the way this city goes, it's seem that she's doing very badly on her talk with the CC Corp CEO or anyone in here for that matter. If the queen was the one who burned the bridge then she is a fool, a massive fool. Capital probably not something she have after all the destruction around. If I were to be on her spot I'll disregard all sort of pride and immediately try to get on the CEO's good side, or anyone with wisdom for that matter. Earth need to unite in the crucial moment like this... Instead she separated them and lowered their moral value. Kami know what on earth she's thinking."
Morality, just for refusal to help? "If it's my duty then why not? But if they expected me to help just because I'm strong and it's not my job, or hell, I don't really have any responsibility to defend something and they still expect me with straight face to defend that "something", then they're seriously putting their hope on wrong person. I wouldn't care what they think. I'm not a police nor I'm an earth defense force. I'm just a mere girl who perhaps happened to be a bit strong, but that's all. I'm not really anyone special for that matter. So if they expect I have duty, I do not. If they force it upon me without benefit then surely they're dreaming. I'm not risking my life simply for measly reward like medal. If I don't have any other home now that might be different. But in this case where they expect me to defend them just because I'm strong then seriously, that's just the same as enslaving me. I'm a girl who works under belief of profit after all. I had enough of people using me. If they really keen on using me then they should show me the dough."
The queen is sheltered, and now she's probably unable to be turned into a puppet, huh? "Forgive my insolence, but in that case I feel some form of coup is heading toward her. Either that or public trial. Whichever the ugliest, I wonder... As much as I hate any of the two, responsibility of a queen should not be done naively. Those who accepted the crown of the queen should have a determination to match it. They should knew the moment they fail, people want them to die to apologize for the sin... unless..." at this point, she nursed her head from the sudden pain that assaulted it. Something just felt so familiar, but... she can't put a finger on it. What... what could have been the solution? "...she could have a magic item..." the image is getting clearer, but she can't really grasp it. "...Ugh, sorry, I'll drop this topic in a bit."
"...I think the reason for surgical removal is as you said, a problem about being drafted. If Saiyan truly are powerful and the public have hatred toward Saiyan, it wouldn't be strange if he was told to die in the battlefield," Alluca theorized. "But then again, I'm not his father and the person has sadly passed away, so I couldn't say whether my conjecture is right or not."
Enacting something unfavorable though... "...But for me, all she's doing all so far was simply disappointment all around?"
Harsh, but that is her opinion.
"I didn't caught his name, or it just happened to slipped my mind. He does have brown-ish hair and goatee though. I believe he's more built for martial art than sword. However, it might because his body built itself. Admittedly, he was the one who I drooled at... It was really awkward... Ah, right, he happened to he a half saiyan I think. His ki signature have that saiyan feel to it."
She didn't had the time to answer about what does she want however as she had already fallen. Luckily, she grabbed one of the closest person that helped her soon after, seem to regaining consciousness as fast.
"...Sorry... please... get me something."
Something here have connotation of "blood". She hoped she was already clear enough. She wondered if they would jolt with how cold her hand is though. Alluca slowly get herself back to the chair. "...Majesty--or perhaps, would you prefer other title? Pardon me for such a hideous sight I presented. Apparently your title invoked something from my memory. Pardon for the sudden question too... are you... familiar with someone with title "Little Queen", a Martriarch, or an Antediluvian of such epithet?"
The graveness in her tone might indicate something deeper than mere name tossed out of random.
It was hard to say if there was really any army, the blonde queen actually had.
Though the same could be said for most people she knew of. They were either unaffiliated with anyone, being likely hybrids who weren't aware of their own culture, or they were apart of some faction. Whether it was the former or the latter however, neither really failed in not being an annoyance.
The only distinct being that often died, beyond those who have shown the incapability of forming speech, had to have been the demons. It was okay to kill them because of a planet's own tales about their evil ways, and what was so innate about them. There was no pity, or at least there shouldn't have been.
Complication came with those who were only half-demon, but humans were so quick to judge, it might as well not have mattered at all, if they didn't belong to a faction of importance. Death to anyone else was practically a blasphemy, as the affiliated had some value to who they were associated with.
The demons were merely those caught on the lesser end of things, no matter their status, to most of those who were ignorant. Couldn't see the potential in giving them a bit of what they wished for, while still keeping them in control. Their kind owed her favors for what had happened back in East City, and would likely only continue to do so, knowing the lack of competence for one pair of demons, was only a sign of many more yet to have their own spotlight.
She had met many beings, researched them enough to take their techniques for her own, but in the end, there would still likely always be beings she hadn't observed far long enough. What army that blonde queen could have had, if any at, was likely to be of the girl's own kind herself, than any other being.
Back on that planet of ice and snow, where those forsaken creatures had been, there had been a girl with similar ki suppression. Whether or not they were related, it would be certainly hard to tell, knowing she hadn't had any real time on the planet to observe long enough. It was merely to retrieve the Kold Demon, who had been recently dismissed. All she knew was that if the blonde had any importance to her at all, she wasn't seeing it beyond words.
The Saiyans on Namek had already made a presence with their time there, to the point where it was just as much of a tourist trap that earth was, and its imprints of its infrastructure could be seen on the land. She had started to wipe out the mentality of covens not being able to collaborate together, while putting to action a ceasefire, thanks to this whole mortal level business. What had the blonde done besides allow people to die?
Whether the fall of East City, or the death of the refugees on Planet Bris, had been successfully for one of the two, there was still loss rather than any gain. The mages she expected to see with the blonde as a sign of worth or credibility, just wasn't around. They were as unheard of as those forsaken creatures on that ice planet, which said just about enough, coming from a race that was starting to be publicly known, whether they wished to or not.
"The former queen, when she was alive, already had a few battles under her belt, and was acquainted with those who regularly defended this planet from invasions. Something this new one has yet to shown. But there are still those who would argue in giving it time, despite that fact."
A choice which although had some truth to it, would be a mistake. Things couldn't have just been enacted and passed, with repairs being worked on, but there were basics to be had that were being ignored. This focus on repairs wasn't going to last. Like any of the other past invasions, there would be questions of measures on how and who would prevent another one. Business which even if the blonde was able to decide, still wouldn't have mattered in the end.
There was always going to be would be heroes, and trying to control who landed on a planet wasn't going to work. For what she dreamed of for Vampires, the best that could be done was warning their faction leaders that said visitor was marked for death in the future, knowing so many other planets were taken advantage of and stepped on. The tower east of here, was already despicable, with people without the right credentials, wishing to visit.
"In the heat of battle, there might still be arguments for the lives that were lost, which could have been prevented with assistance. Hate that they would impose, thanks to the power they lacked, which could have prevented such failures. It likely wouldn't matter if to you, that person they lost was a stranger. Those who are truly good, if such a thing were to be believed, might take a century to even forgive."
The insight of this one, had overall proved to her that someone average, at least in her eyes, could be capable of seeing what she saw. The other Vampire didn't really come off as the type who normally had to think on this kind of level, but with these questions presented in such a way, how could it be avoided? She tended to have this effect on people, knowing the Overseer of the Namek Saiyans, and even one of his most trusted, had gone similarly.
These were being who'd normally expel the power and rock the ground beneath them. People she'd likely to consider to be nothing more than brawn, had it not been for the power they held, being a sign they hadn't gotten there through luck. At the very least, until they had proved that it was otherwise.
"The repairs would likely delay any coup at the moment, buying her whatever time she needs to address what would likely be simple. If you're suggesting there's hypnosis involved, or she could wish her problems away, I have doubts she even goes outside enough for that to be a thing."
This planet's dragonballs being inactive, and mostly being a rumor to those who didn't know what Capsule Corp's dragon radars were for, made the latter an impossibility. If those things were around again, she wouldn't have had to bother with eying the Namek ones, to try and make her wish into realization.
The idea of hypnosis, would have also been not only noticeable, but an example of the kind of 'good' that blonde had wrongly believed herself to be. To stoop to that level of control over people, wasn't a rule at all. It was ridding those too weak to stop such a notion, and failed to protect oneself against those who could. No, as much as she tended to bring the blonde queen into conversation since meeting someone of that caliber, it didn't seem likely.
There were so many ways that girl could have screwed her over, but she doubted it would involve something so easy. In the end though, any action taken against her, wasn't going to be without consequences. It should have been seen as fortunate in the first place, that she was relatively playing legally.
"If there's one thing she's already failed at, it's realizing how West City has always been pro corporate, which would make it extremely difficult to change too many things around here."
There were sanctions in place that have favored businesses likely longer than the blonde had even been born. To try and take that away wasn't going to sit well, knowing it was a system that worked, and had long since had an appeal to the public within this area. That girl would need force to do anything.
"Well he won't be out of place, if he doesn't make it obvious. Physique is the only thing else, which would have anyone question if he's human."
Though a lot of beings tended to have something similar. Aliens like the Saiyans weren't typically going to look as different as a Supidoan in most cases, making an extinction of humans so much less likely to be noticeable. That had always been an argument for her since becoming more than human, and it wasn't likely to change, so long as Galen would be the strongest human she had knew of. Everyone else was likely to always be hybrids of some sorts.
"There's not much to be done about it, beyond hoping someone else takes her place. Better to wait for numerous public interest in a new queen, if not outright leave the planet."
If this one could say that much about the blonde queen, then there was certainly hope for others to see it that way herself. That girl was no exception to the demons and their incompetency, despite most of them likely holding more power. Mistakes could be made with a lack of influence and favor of the dead.
The description of the one who decided to watch over the tower east of here in Galen's place, she had the suspicion might have been that lesser male Saiyan. She felt him around West City more than she should have on several occasions, though it just wasn't the right opportunity to approach what she couldn't do anything about. The demons were supposed to kill him in the end, more than once if they were able to, if the favors they owed her, were to be repaid.
This idea of drooling over him, really showed the lack of control this one must have had. She only remembered light hunger pains, rather than that kind of hungry eye. It differed from Vampire to Vampire for sure, with those who were close to her hiding their urges in their own way. This wasn't out of place.
"He might be the man I had brought up earlier who attacked me, but it's hard to judge without seeing it myself. Either way, if it is him, he's a desperate fool, and the keeper of that tower is even more desperate for possibly teaching him. The only thing those two really have in common is their anger. I've met those who proclaim themselves to be good, and he could never be worthy of keeping in check the worst and strongest of demons."
The sudden fall that had came from the girl, it would have been too ridiculous to cause a panic over. Humans were the frail ones, while Vampires and most beings were their betters. It was fine in the end, weak as the girl had sounded, as she requested something vague, rather than anything specific.
Blood. That's what she figured was being asked, and signaled to a nearby worker, the only good supply they really had to answer the early request, being that of her cousin. Human, and only a power level of 5,000, but it was really all that could be offered with her Majin and Saiyan both on Namek. The girl had wanted from the source as well, though she had also practically passed out, and barely seemed to even have the strength to do such a thing.
"It's not directly from the source, but the taste of one of our own, would just be the taste of some human, than what you're looking for. It still holds value however, belonging to my cousin."
The request didn’t take particularly long, although it was the question of what to call her, that had more of her attention, than the worker who came over to give the girl the vial of blood. Such a sight would have been so out of place anywhere else, but there was really no worry when she had control of this place. It served as an example of anything, on why she was a far better leader than the blonde queen, having a background like Capsule Corp with her.
”Those under my protection tend to refer me as Lady Rukia.”
Workers and the like were an exception, being more keen of calling her by her surname of Date, as if she was just a human. It had its benefits here and there, but to worry about such a thing in the first place, was one of the problems that other people dealt with. They so often imposed their own feelings into her actions, trying to over analyze them, when it was simply just business. Something she carried as simple as walking.
There was nothing else to it and no real strong attachments to any side that needed her favor. Anyone who thought otherwise were wrong, someone she would hardly waste any time with, if they were going to be that adamant about what she did. Simplicity was one of her finer points, and the thing she continued to carry since her turning into a Vampire. No matter what different forms she could have taken in person, she was still a teen at heart.
”View it more as a phase and you’ll be fine. Though this state of yours does make me wonder if I should delay the few questions I’ve had on my mind.”
It was either out of respect, or the girl’s own insecurities, that might have brought on what was essentially nonsense of the other Vampire saw herself. Her own response was practically as close to reassurance as anyone was likely to get, and it was true. So much spirit from someone like this, could only last for so long. Being ageless could elicit boredom down the line. Being more powerful than anyone else could keep up with, could also hold the same effect.
It made her wonder if either of those two were the reasons why the deities had decided to reveal themselves in such a way. All this mortal level business was such a burden to think and worry for, it was so much better to not know they had to care about how many they killed. And the fate of the world was all in the hands of a tournament of all things. Their lives was someone else’s entertainment.
”Can’t say I have. The oldest of our kind, the ancients might, but if you’re suggesting it has to do with your former life, then we might be better off speaking as equals.”
One of her eyebrows had arched up hearing this theory of the girl, which from the two comparisons, seemed to suggest the other Vampire might have been one of the two. A loss of power or some sort, if it were to be true, while also making this one to be much older than even she could remember with that amnesia. Impressive, and would certainly give hope to their kind, if power could really dwindle on this kind of level here.
”Though I also wouldn’t blame you to prefer otherwise. If it’s true that you were of that level, then there’s hope for myself and the others that our kind won’t be so tired of humanity down the line. Though at a cost, as it should be.”
The cost in this case, being that power wiped out, as far as both of them were aware of. Locked away the same way she had to break the spiritual chains that held her back from being a Matriarch, and what she used to keep the power normally hidden. Her eyes had briefly closed considering that thought, the meal in front of her, she never really stopped digging into as they had talked. The light clacking sounds of her spoon filled any short silence.
”I’m more than willing to believe in this glint of recognition you’ve been given, if you are. Which almost makes the questions I had in mind a bit more cautious than I had intended, knowing this.”
They weren’t complicated questions by any means, but it was the very thing she needed to hear an answer to, in order to gauge where their standing was with each other. Agreement or even acceptance, wasn’t the thing she was even looking for. Rather, it just needed to be clear different decisions and scenarios where she was around, wouldn’t be her responsibility. She was hardly the type to babysit anyone too weak to grasp and carry out their desire.
”As I’ve said earlier, those extremely “righteous” likely aren’t to forgive not providing assistance if one is capable of doing so. But those types can easily be disregarded as they can never also force anyone to do anything without being hypocritical themselves. It’s a laughable notion to do otherwise, and I know I would take them much less seriously if they try.
What matters more is one’s own business with an individual, and one’s own interest. Which is why I have to bring up a few things. Those people you’re looking after, seems to be a recent agreement. If they were to die during an invasion, would you view it to be your fault? Start to distance yourself from humanity, maybe our kind in general? Be filled with rage or use it as motivation? Or perhaps the rare case of acceptance that you were powerless?”
The questions, rather than it being the choice of some individual one wouldn’t care for, was instead something personal the girl could have judged on. The reactions of each were also rather typical paths one could likely take out of mourning for the dead, rather than making future actions better. All things so many people couldn’t accept due to stubbornness or other feelings on their part, which was the thing that made them so much weaker.
”What if someone of my power was around to prevent their deaths? Would you blame them rather than take responsibility yourself? Forget that a stranger shouldn’t care about those of your own interest knowing their deaths had came to be?”
Since becoming a Matriarch, her eyes had glowed with the intensity of a roaring campfire, but it was with these questions and her words now, that she felt like they couldn’t have burned even brighter if she could see herself. There was some personal thoughts mixed in here without her even mentioning the specific details leading to have them, but in the end, there was really no right or wrong answer that could have been given.
”No matter your answer, I can at least assure you that no one outside of my interest, I’ll be responsible for. I don’t care for other people’s grievances, and if they were too powerless to save those of their own interest, it’s their own responsibility. Too many wrongly believe their own imposed beliefs matter to any mind outside of their own. If there’s to be any assistance from me, my attention would have been already there.”
"Then come my question why the old queen, who was... actually nurturing this new queen to be a backup would not introduce her to the saviors, or at least those who could be their ally? At this point might as well as point a peasant on the road and name them the new monarch," Alluca would jest. "Japes aside, it was unthinkable of the queen to not be introduced to those who would end up beneficial for her down the line. If the old queen were to think that this is acceptable, then surely this means they are not ready for worst case scenario. In the end, it makes me wonder if she was too content with how she was progressing in her rules until her sudden, untimely death. It's a pity, really. And what time? What sort of time will there be left? Sentimentally aside, I feel like the best course of action is to abandon the planet and look for mean of survival. Repairing what's already too broken to be repaired would only waste your time. Might as well as buying something new."
Though, what about her? "...Well, now that I said that, I guess I'm a fool who bound by sentimentally too. But I was ready to die because I had so little to lose before this. Not that I would like to die, mind. I just would like to enjoy life without any fear."
Ah, the morality, that's the thing she doesn't truly like. "Bleeding heart and empathy. I don't really get why people would go miles for people that they hold no interest in. Simply for 'happiness', for 'justice', or something of similar manner. I don't understand it all. It's such a heavy responsibility, yet they lifted it anyway. It would matter if somehow it would be a driving force for similar minded people to raise and become 'future hero' to nurture. Yet if they ended up too hoping for the appearance of a hero, then that is the same as tossing yourself to be sacrificial lamb in a famine. They'll not learn that they need to grow stronger, and help the hero. They'll instead beg you to take mantle of hero, again and again. Mankind, or better said, opportunists are always like that."
Alluca slowly flicked her hair away from her field of vision. It's starting to tickle her somewhat. It kind of irritated her somehow about people who would sacrifice their hero instead of trying to lighten the burden of such heroes. Was it because past experience? Or something else? She had no idea. However, she dislikes the label hero.
"No, that wasn't really what I think... there was... there was something that could remedy it all... but..." another pain assaulted her head. "...I think it's something related to what I was looking for far away in the past..."
...Though it honestly surprised her that someone would attack this person in front of her. Although at the same time, that shock quickly died down. The man sounded like he's the force of absolute goodness--or better said, the kind that would smite you when he found that you're evil the slightest in his vision. From what she saw on the other vampire, her morality, human wise, is questionable. She's not inching toward evil, but can't say she's good either. Just what sort of grey is she leaning toward is the question, but that's not the main concern either. "It might be that person that you said, considering he did said something about being taught by his master of towerkeeper swordstyle or something of that line..."
The blood was definitely not directly from the source, but she popped the lid open and drink it. A relieved sigh came from the girl, looking absolutely blissful. "...Yes, this was nice... lower quality than those of my friend's, but this definitely a class of its own... haa..."
That aside, here comes the real talk.
"No, Milady... That would be... incorrect I feel. I don't feel that epithet belonged to me. At most I would have been a countess under her coven... I'm pretty positive of it. I think I could give you more information about my past, but even so, it was blurry. Please take this with grain of salt."
Alluca would stabilize herself first, wiping any leftover blood. "...Little Queen, I believe she's either Matriarch, or an Antediluvian herself. No one know what her real tale was, how she was turned, or how she rose to that level. But from what I remembered,I was serving under that figure as her successor, or I believe so. She had five other successors, each on the rank of Matriarch and instead opted to build their own coven... so I ended up being the sixth. The six was under one union, led by Little Queen. Many however voiced their doubt of her ideals. You see, Milady... Little Queen was... rather messed up in the head, putting it very lightly."
Yes, it was that sort of thought. "Little Queen perhaps has lived for a thousand years or maybe more. I remembered that she wasn't the same, but as time goes on, especially when I was on countess rank, she already lost her rationality. Many said she sick of living, some said that she completely lost her mind from the monotony of life in hiding, another said that she merely wishes for true passion in life, and conquering the world and filling it with vampire is not the way. But at any rate, she was insane. She would thus make a strange policies such as pairing a vampire with six livestock human. We would care for them, and if a foul play were to be found instead of death of natural cause, we're not to get another livestock for us. She dubbed this an experiment to see if it would change mindset of vampires to start care about the livestock under them, to treat them as premium goods at the very least, instead of outright hating them and uses them as disposable tools. She of course put a grand order to stop any vampire from drunk their kind's blood, or any other blood than human blood to cover up for their foul play in raising their human goods. Those who... did this, would be then wiped from existence. They're probably reduced to something else, or used in her more crueler experiment.
Little Queen also questioned 'where does vampire came from?', could they breed and so on. When she talked, I always remembered how it have undertones that she was willing to go deeper in her 'research'. She raises such question, and wished to somehow reverse the nature of vampiric hatred against humanity. However, it was so heretical that she also used her own kin for this experiment. She would imprison those who blatantly antagonizes her and did quite number of experiment to them. Little Queen's ultimate goal, however, is not reversing the vampire's nature to allow toe to become mortal, no... She wanted to create a new kind of vampire that isn't affected by drawbacks of blood magic. Part of me believed that she also wanted to create other sort of races, but all in all... she was so fixated on 'evolution'. Supposedly, it would have been easier for her mind if there was... these objects called Dragon Balls. However, as far as I know, Dragon Balls were inert back then. Little Queen perhaps would kept her sanity if she was to obtain these balls of wishgranting device. Alas, fate answered differently.
...From what I know, afterward, her successors fed up and banded against her. It somehow leads to my imprisoning, with someone told me "If you were to hate someone, then hate Little Queen". Whether I'm imprisoned under her order from failed coup or whether her opposition captured me because I was her successor I had no idea, but it brings me to the present. As much as I am interested in her research to somehow repress our hatred and tiredness to humanity, I don't feel like I want to repeat that history... To choose weakness by not growing stronger on basis that it would let you enjoy life more, or to survive and grow stronger so no one could mess with you. Both ideas are contradictory, but Little Queen wished to gain balance of both... although I feel she was too desperate and ended up crushing herself."
The tale ended there. To Rukia's question...
"...I would not blame it on myself, on their own, or the invader so to say. Invader have their goal, conflict of interest is something that always happened. Should I dream of revenge while I was this weak? Should I fault the invader instead, knowing they cares not about what I cares? That would be ridiculous. Life of these kids are probably like dust to them. Value is to the eyes of the beholder. I am not, however, that righteous to put myself on shoes of many other. Why should I care about a child of a woman I had no idea of? Why should I care about a woman who lost their child in invasion when they're nothing to me? I had people that I care about myself. My course of action should be instead to know how to prevent such thing to happen. Regret should not be something to be carried by someone in long term, I feel. Neither should revenge and grudge. That will close their mind from bigger goal, like how to prevent second incident like this to happened again, and again, and again. I've learned from how human rejected help of another due to their xenophobia. Their xenophobia stemmed from countless invasion. I feel like they took their personal feeling way too far to see some merits offered.
Therefore, I will blame neither. I'll do my self-appointed duty, train them, and let them grow. If they somehow grows inadequately strong, then I would simply add it for reference of my self improvement. Whether it's because they're weak? Or is it because my teaching wrong? Or was it because I myself am too weak? I'll say that death is inevitable, it is a promise. Wheel of karma never let us go. it's merely course of life, and what mortal can do is to prevent it to came at us in disagreeable time, simple as that I feel. I will not blame you for not taking mercy to them. Even if you were my mother, my sister, my whatever it is, it is not your duty to cares about what I took under my wings. It's my responsibility. Therefore, the fault should lies not at you. It should lies at my own. I've said that I'm a girl who works on 'interest'. Therefore if I were to ask your help, I will not ask it for free, simple as that. I will bargain for it. If you said that it's no good then it's no good. Business is like that, isn't it, Milady? There must be interest, demand and proper remuneration for 'goods'. But I don't think I would ever be such a fool to ask someone of your caliber to save them. Does that answer to be satisfactory for you?"
The girl's purple eyes instead was like cold of winter. It was delivered with cold calculative attitude instead of something of a burning passion.
The Tree of Might was a peculiar circumstance from the start.
With it containing the power necessary to cause the attacked cities of earth to flee, there was only so many civilians who were willing to trust that things would be fine. Capsule Corp itself, has had 500 years of development, and it would be a large mistake to believe an invasion could so easily ruin the economy, when there had surely been plenty many years before it. West City still circulating was the example, rather than the blame it could be.
Whatever had happened during the day the earth had attacked, it was desperate measures that resulted in the former queen losing her life, and even more desperation to pick the blonde of all people. Who was she before officially claiming the role, and just why her, rather than Flare or the others?
That girl had so much confidence to her, that truly, there would need to be a third unbiased opinion, to decide who was right and who was wrong. For it was misplaced confidence in the kind of way that anyone, even the smartest of scientist and researchers, would question those beliefs of hers.
Make them wonder, whether or not she truly had a plan, or was deluding herself into think that she did. If the economy was as fragile as that blonde believed things to be, zeni wouldn't still be in existence. They were likely to abandon that kind of currency structure, for something more simplistic.
"I have doubts it was really a planned choice, and if it was, there could have been so many better candidates. It seems to me like it was based on power, and this new queen having a flat million."
She met people who saw it as impressive, but when someone was as strong as she was, that flat million was more like only a hundred thousand. There was surely someone, other than herself, who was both interested in the position, and qualified. The ties that came with earth were too dependent on one side of morality, for it to be beneficial. Earthlings would have to be moved or change their ways entirely, to fit the society that she had envisioned.
"The evacuation off the planet could have essentially been a permanent change, but since it wasn't, it's another example of her incompetence."
Though really, there wasn't the slightest of a chance the Kold Demons, would have allowed that to happen. To become a tourist trap of a planet in the same manner of Earth or Namek, meant seeing the kind of visitors that would actually have the gall to try and live on the planet, as if it was their home.
It would be nothing short of a mistake to buy in the idea, that those aliens were anything but xenophobic, with where their standing in the universe now was. Forced to lose against the Saiyans to the point where what special thing they had, was just taken from them. And still without a leader for how long now? They were riped for being taken advantaged of in ways that could be pulled right under their noses. But they could be so much more if allowed.
Their mannerisms was the right amount of questionable, and to kill one was neither a loss, nor would have been a problem, in consideration of their history. Almost the equivalent of how humans typically felt for demons, except for Saiyans. But how many Saiyans out there, would really vouch for a Kold?
For those without power, there wouldn't really be much standing in the way of someone stronger killing them. Though their kind looked human enough to pass on as such in society, and the less fortunate who looked more disfigured, could make do with the covens that were around. Death was only a worry if one doubted enough about whether they would live the next day. The resources for survival were around them, there just needed to be confidence grabbing.
"It's possible to live that life, and also not strive for power. Though it's rather dependent on good faith."
So long as they weren't the type to freely kill someone weaker, it wasn't likely this one would find any trouble. She wouldn't even need any allies either, since being a Vampire alone, granted such natural abilities that a human wouldn't have. Any Saiyan that found itself onto this planet, were likely some hybrid that could be reasoned with. There were so few species that would just outright attack off the bat, unless they were just completely asinine.
Those who did, and cared far too much about business they shouldn't have been apart of, tended to be the would be heroes who annoyed her. Was it truly loss for someone who chose to go into battle, knowing they'd die, and actually ended up meeting their demise? The most typical thing to do was to get upset at the one who caused it, even if they essentially didn't know who the person was. But that was just what was so innate about people putting a value to life.
"The problem comes with giving value to life. The one thing that seems to be common or innate, is the recognition if one of your own dies, it's an alert of sorts. Those who are strong enough to survive, aren't likely to care however. Earthlings, or humans in general, typically have their own imposed expectations for others, no matter how wrong they are for doing so."
Which was where there was truth in how if someone kept saving a city or planet, they were likely expected to do so, time and time again. The thing was though, was that those who did and managed to survive, were likely already self-motivated to go carry out such a thing. What gap there could be, with having those who couldn't defend themselves, try and be their own proper heroes, there would have to be some odd circumstances to allow that change to happen.
It was an odd thing to watch an inner struggle take place, knowing pain was greater for the person being affected, than anyone who could empathize enough to help. She had felt her own share of pain in the past, but it was nothing that couldn't be dealt with, and nothing that wouldn't wind up passing.
A strong resolve was needed in order to survive, and if they were really going to play at the idea this one was someone much more, there wasn't a need to be concerned. If these words of hers was something like a flash of memories trying to surface, it would be better if anything, to see what unfolded.
"Well if it is him, he's fated to die by the hands of someone, outside of my own. If that Tower Keeper was looking for a disciple, I could have found him a much better one."
The idea of that swordsman instructing someone, brought her back to how that blonde queen supposedly found someone of interest. For what cause, it was unclear, but if this girl was truly worth saving, there had to have been some kind of reason. One hardly a concern at the moment, but that was probably what that blonde had wanted. To brush off the idea whoever this stranger was, she could have posed a threat in the future. Vengeance for loss.
It was a pretty typical route for someone who was inspired, and like many other things due to morality, there were plenty of scenarios questioning how much background influenced character. Even theories that could be enacted on, with the proper subject, that could be tested, with the right resources.
The closest she could really ever come to that however, was allowing beings to grow in power, and seeing where it led them. The reason that the demons who contributed to East City's fall, were even still alive. She wanted them to get stronger and rise to go against the decisions she had wanted.
But so long as she stayed above their power, it wouldn't be a threat to her. The taste of blood could be astounding, and as any Vampire could have guessed, the stronger the person was, the better tasting it'd be. Its rejuvenation would even last longer just as well. There was nothing in particular to really be picky about, and she would even say the blood of a rat, was just as equal as any other animal. Though she wasn't surprised by those who were keen on better.
It would have also been too trivial to be offended by what was truth anyway. Her cousin wasn't the strongest being around, and there truly was better out there. So long as it helped go against these dizzy spells, it didn't really matter what kind in the end. Nothing would ever be enough anyway.
"There's still merit to it in being at least a Countess. Though you'd be likelier to run a coven then be apart of one."
Fledglings in general however, those who were willing enough to make a run for it like she had, wouldn't even wait that long. Covens had their uses in guiding the more newly turned Vampires, but she wouldn't have said their control over territory was great beyond that. More dragged into land disputes.
Even if this one was such an amnesiac she couldn't remember her past, it wasn't unbelievable to be a Countess. Becoming a Matriarch was where things tended to become difficult, knowing the kind of influence that could be held with such a status, and the power that was given to one over other Vampires.
But this didn't seem to be the end of what this one remembered. There was actually quite the history to this figure being mentioned, painting a picture of just how dated their culture must have been back then. Though this one might have not lived long enough to precede the existence of Capsule Corp, if it was only a thousand years. The photos of that time period, even they weren't as old fashioned as some country dresses that could be found today.
The experimentation that was involved, it was unsurprising to hear it was managed to be pulled off. The level of power back then, was likely nowhere near the kind it was today. To be both strong enough to test these kind of theories, and be able to get away with it, must have felt rather fulfilling.
So many measures had to be accounted for in today's modern era, and those who didn't deserve to be strong, were running amok. She imagined there must have been so much more control, as well as a degree of freedom to it. None of the decisions that were made, seemed out of place for anyone with that kind of time either. The monotony that came with living this kind of life, wasn't meant for everyone. Experimentation and other phases were expected with longevity.
It was really only the number of Matriarchs at a time, and the goal this ancient one was aiming for, that explained why things had ended in a failure. According to the ritual her Saiyan and Majin had witnessed, five Saiyans were used in order to power up a sixth one. Some kind of transformation had been gained out of that, and the number involved was too odd not to have been intentional. Though it required both a ki transfer, and likely certain power.
She knew, because she had already tried the ritual on her own, using two of her sisters in hierarchy, and the fledglings that she knew of. It would have been more fitting to use 5 Matriarchs, but they didn't have such a handful of a number. Dividing it into those who were weaker, was the possible alternative that had her wonder if it influenced the difficulty of accessing what seemed to be hidden, in any kind of way. Though those were theories she couldn't prove. At best, her guess would have been the need to be at Caesar's level of power, knowing the Saiyan Overseer only ever released a portion of his.
"It's an interesting tale, if it could really be proven down the line. This figure possibly wasn't even old enough to precede this company's existence, which goes to show what the power levels back then, might have been. Certainly nothing that must have been common now. If she had continued to live though, it would have been no issue keeping up with this generation. My only disinterest was her spread of power, and the goal behind it."
There was a reason why their natural abilities being from blood magic, could be a hindrance. That type of magic required sacrifices, and meant to be punishing towards those taking advantage of it. Something consequence free, when it came to power, typically wasn't something that existed.
Even if somehow, that goal had succeeded, why get rid of a taste for blood? It promoted laziness among other behavior that brought weakness as a whole to a race, than anything that likely would have been growth. Punishment for pursuing power, like what could come from monotony, had its own benefits.
"Can't say I agree with her approaches either. It's unsurprising things didn't end well, with her trying to be rid of existing punishment."
She would have disapproved enough to go against it too. The hierarchy they had, might have tended to be shared titles, but different people with different powers, also tended to have different idea. It was why no matter what being one was, only a certain few individuals were really allowed to have power.
That story had been quite a tale, and while certainly had its interests, it couldn't compete with her own inquiry on just what separated this one, from the others. She had already seen a level of thinking that most wouldn't have expected, from someone who could be so casual. And that could be beneficial.
Listening in the same way she had with those surfaced memories, the one thing she had suspected could happen, seem to be alleviated, hearing the explanations. Those of their kind, while she was able to forcibly control them if needed, it was better off having some kind of understanding.
Only the foolish then, would be able to say she hadn't tried, for it would take so much to have her stop being the Queen of Vampires. Power was what carried one to success, but position was what allowed that success to happen. So long as life could have been better, just what reason was there to stop?
"Then I believe we've come to a bit of an understanding then. I do what I can to have our kind informed of my goals, though there's always a few who have convinced themselves there has been no progress. Other than making them out to be human matters, you've already heard the gist of my troubles."
It was interesting seeing the change in those eyes, and if this one could just gain more power, it would have been more credible. Didn't matter who the girl might have once been, if those memories of hers were to be believed. There were few beings who wouldn't take the chance to kill if they could.
In her eyes, there wasn't really much of a run-down that was needed. What troubles she had were primarily her own annoyances, and throughout this build up in leading to her inquiries, it was the idea this one might have had too much attachment to her friend, to really take news of the truth well enough.
There might have been a chance everything told today, would fully sink in later, and things could change, but that belief only meant approaching a more forcible route. The girl could just as easily go and live as a bat like the others of their kind, who weren't capable of adhering to the ceasefire.
"I'll have one of the workers compile a file for you, if you're unaware of what these people are, and suggest you read it. There'll be a bit of my own research in it, but it all sums down to these people being hybrids. Namek was where my troubles could be traced back to. Prior to my decision of traveling there, I had already long established reputation of my existence, and producing talk amongst the covens."
The meal she had prepared for her, was put aside as it was finished, and it was only her own gesture, that had caused one of the workers still in the cafeteria to take it away. There wasn't a need to mention she wanted what was being discussed to be filled, and ready before they left this place.
"It helped a lot, having already had the position as the head of this corporation for awhile, though visiting Namek was meant to mock a Namekian I knew, about his world's dragonballs. He was a bit of a rival during my early days as a Fledgling, and informed me of their existence in the first place, but knowing that, I was more interested in the earth ones. Which, last I have checked, still remain to be inert."
The legend of the dragonballs weren't a secret, compared to the knowledge of their actual existence. Those who went after them, had their own reasons, but the wishes she envisioned someone might have gone for, would have been immortality or eternal youth. Both things which were pointless, knowing the afterlife allowed revivals for those strong enough, while their own kind could have provided eternal youth. A waste of wishes was what those two would have been.
There was no justification for either, knowing they both involved ignorance, which left the only good wishes being power or creating life. Whoever made those wishes, if she ever got a hands on those artifacts and finished her own, were going to be expected to do something eventful with them.
"I couldn't sense his energy on the planet, but the place also wasn't what I expected it to be. Saiyans were everywhere, and considered themselves to be living in peace with them. A race of people who had a history of being warmongers, were content with living with slug people. It was difficult to believe, and I still don't approve of their influence, but it wasn't anything I was able to look into, until later that day."
It'd be hard to forget how her alliance with the Saiyans there, had started because of her interest in taking a look at those artifacts. A chance she never really got to accomplish, due to her own emphasis of not stepping back onto the planet, in the case that she would have no ties there if they were attacked.
"The cloud in the skies started to darken, and following after the signature, their leader to be somewhat reminded me of the one I knew of. I challenged him, only to be stopped by the male you must have met, an unaffiliated halfbreed Saiyan, and a halfbreed demon blonde.
The latter who conveniently happened to be the half-sister of the Saiyan Leader on the planet. The assistant of the Namekian leader got the blonde to stop, after her foolish declaration she had a duty to prevent another Caesar, a powerful figure allied with the demons, and as I've said earlier that man you met went into a rage. I was already a Matriarch, and it was nothing but willingly adhering to the planet's policies, that prevented him from dying."
Those two and their foolishness, it felt so much like she wouldn't ever let them live that incident down. For they were clear examples of people pushing away potential aid, because they feared people with power, who also held no clear affiliation. Power allowed setting standards, rather than to adhere.
"I fought the Namekian Leader in the end, and had him concede to me, technically earning his title, along with tasting a portion of his power for his defeat. Things were fortunate afterwards, as I've managed to procure an alliance with the Saiyan Leader and had a talk with subordinate, to the point where they sent two ambassadors to come along with me back to earth, while acknowledging that blonde had been in the wrong."
It was one of her best moments, knowing that she was right. There was irony in going on about preventing another evil figure, and treating her as such, because she feared that man like some welp. She continued to only be right about how useless that blonde was as well, doubting efforts were really made.
"Some months passed, and throughout it, the covens were informed of current progress. Our kind's whole belief of being out for themselves, and keeping the society a secret in the first place, I was already starting to tear down, with the influential figures I was meeting. Becoming an Antediluvian had certified myself as queen of our kind, far more than becoming the first Matriarch in decades. And things only continued being fortunate from there.
Meeting Caesar, the one who so many powerhouses feared, he ended up being no one but a man unable to let go of the past and move on. Shared his memories with me to try and get me to empathize with his past, which was laughable, as one's own perception dictates how much something means, and what I was forced to feel by him were temporary. The most useful thing I got out of it, as the memories started to fade, was knowledge of the afterlife."
The bottle of water that was left for her, she had taken a few drinks of, while she told her own side of the story. Hearing it out loud for herself, the progression had been quick, and there had been a good mix of political figures that upon meeting, did end up benefiting her in some way.
"You can doubt it if you wish, but that place doesn't allow materialization of anything that can be imagined, or playing out any scenario, like some religions would have you believe. It's essentially another life, after being checked in, and dropped onto a planet. There's no better confidence than knowing there's a form of monotony there, although I can see how life after would appeal to some. The best part is that revival is possible for those who are strong, as Caesar had managed to sleep his way out of it, with the ogre checking souls into their respective places for eternity."
There was not much that could top that kind of awareness with life, and fuel the kind of confidence needed to do the things that she did. And how much she detested the afterlife, was one of the things she had shared with their kind, knowing just how much it could play a role in success with their future.
"Some time passed before I personally met that blonde new Queen of Earth, on the day she tried to claim her role. She had no witness of any sort, or an army with her, and we must have talked for about an hour, before it was obvious what kind of person she was. In the end, all she did was parrot my own words, and telling me how unique she was, having the ability to sense a galaxy. I got a restraining order against her through a blood contract, and got a taste of her power, while she practically begged for attention to be turned to East City, where some demons were attacking."
That day had been fortunate, knowing what she had gotten out of it, was still being seen today. The blonde was put into a position she so clearly didn't wish to be, but there was still a smug of confidence she wasn't able to understand where it was coming from, beyond the girl's own delusions.
"It was a chance for the girl to prove that she was better, and unsurprisingly she expected for my help. She had been more than smug throughout our conversation, and like those two idiots on Namek, was expecting something from me. There were three demons and I met with one of them, knowing the one primarily attacking the city, I had a good manipulation of. A deal was struck with her kind to meet with their queen, in favor of them staying alive, taking away another thing that blonde could have gotten. Which leads me to Bris, and what happened to the planet and refugees there."
Bris was the most recent accomplishment she had, evne if she wasn't actively there to influence it. It was really the Kold Demon who caused the deaths of those refugees, who should have been thanked, knowing the success of that continued to put the blonde queen in a position that she would hate.
"I had a Kold Demon working under me for awhile, before dismissing them back to their planet, knowing the sight of the refugees there would be a catalyst for their kind's xenophobia. My encounter with them in the first place, was while they were in training off planet, so hearing about what happened from those under me, wasn't a surprise at all. It's another thing putting that blonde in her place, knowing how ill fit she is to rule anything."
It was a lot of information and events, along with making more sense if the girl actually knew about some of these species. Though it took time to copy down information, especially when it was as thorough as she could be. The people and hybrids she meant, could practically be read like a book.
"I had chosen to withheld the information earlier, hearing about your friend, but if he's as strong as you say, then he should still be alive. You might even believe in the idea all this information should be more confidential than what I'm making it out to be, and while there's truth to that, it's a mistake to believe I'd really allow information to be manipulated by. Nothing I've said is a loss on my part, nor anything each coven doesn't already know. It's real progress compared to that blonde queen, and essentially the plan in mind for our kind, involves temporary stay on Bris.
With my alliances, the dragonballs can be eventually procured given the time, and a planet for our kind can be established. One with twilight skies in honor of that pinkette I've mentioned earlier, and the existence of self-refilling and self-cleansing blood rivers and lakes, among other things.
The tourist trap that earth and other planets have become, I'm expecting some kind of similarity to take place. Though with it being a planet for our kind, we'd be free to kill the idiots of other beings, wanting to assert themselves to be some kind of hero, when most things aren't their business. Admittedly, there's some potential amnesty that can be given as well, though overall, I expect it to be an execution planet."
There were a few things too dated to have mentioned, like her alliance with the Elemi, or what the Tournament of Power really was, but this one should have gotten the gist of her attentions. She was far more established than that blonde queen could have been, and fortunate enough to keep screwing her over.
If it's based on power and how apparently there's something going on at the background, it's totally understandable if the choice is based on power alone. Still, she never thought that 'power alone' could lead to this much of a 'let's pick a strong queen for us, even if she's naive as heck'. The choice alone made her flabbergasted... but she guessed that the public have no idea either and accepted her just because she's strong.
"...I wonder if people are getting desperate if they're choosing based on power alone. Hearing this made me truly wonder just how much of a 'tourist trap' is this planet is. Do enlighten me please, how many times have the planet been... ah... 'visited'?"
Then again, background check by the public tend to be done by those who is politic savvy. The new queen being chosen without any sort of election made her wonder if Earth has truly become that barbaric or too war torn and just really desperate for a strong protector. Come to think of it, she heard that the tower guardian somehow has 'gone' or something, or died maybe? That guy in the tower apparently told her that he wasn't home, which led her to believe that Earth's defense force has reduced to nothing. It's a huge pity indeed.
"I felt those that tried to impose some sort of expectation to another is a fool who made by the society to think that it's given for someone of higher standing to go like... noblesse oblige without proper remuneration or care. For example, if I were to be a queen, then my prosperity also dependent on my people's. Therefore, it's my duty to protect them. Yet, let's say if you're a leader of the west and people from the east put some crazy hope that you would move for them without profit dangling at the end, I guess that's an example of escapism from reality. The weak cannot help but to beg, but why wouldn't they get stronger? Is it because the fear of being tossed under the bus when same situation happening again? Disparity is a funny thing somehow. Just because there's a 'hero', it felt like it excuse for some group to stay weak."
This one... she might have a bad relationship with the man from the tower, huh... If it's a proper disciple...
"Come to think of it, that half saiyan... he sounded like he's very anti vampire. I guess I can see that the hatred is mutual, milady. Although it makes me wonder just how wide your connection is. I assume planetary, but just how far? It honestly make me a bit giddy in some way."
As expected though, this one also disapproves the experiment. "Perhaps it was a madwoman's desire for mental peace, perhaps it's her attempt at evolution, but yes, it was unsurprising that she failed. I think another reason was also how the rest of the Matriarch loved their power a bit too much. They did not want to return to... 'being human' so to say. They hated human, or better say, the society that human made, and blood magic only worsened that sentiment. I don't really remember who did it first, but clearly all of them spoke distaste of her policy. Considering how high their rank is, caring for human that would be their livestock is like telling a royalty to become a farmer. A week they might appreciate it somewhat. A month would be a punishment. An entire year or more? That just outright tyranny. But I guess some degree of control was exerted. It was the only reason I can thought why it has gone for years."
Alluca took some papers. While jotting down what she felt was important she listened to the story.
...It was extensive so to say. How old was she? Can't be more than few decades, yet the momentum she carried seem to be so fast, so terrifyingly quick. When she was done, Alluca stopped writing and looked up. "...I see, so that was the reason of your question. But then again it returned to my answer. You doesn't care about what's under me. My friends are to me only, and it doesn't concern you. As long as you don't intentionally screw me over then I have no hard feeling the slightest. In fact, should I say that I very well applaud you for all the plan you created so far? It's unfortunate for those kids, but... What can I say? I just hope that they grew up strong and forget the notion there are heroes. They should learn to take matter in their own hands for them if they hate to lost whatever they have. Now back to topic...
I guess it's the time where I should offer my allegiance? I have little love lost toward this planet, nor I felt like there is an exact need to stay in planet where it soon would be a battlefield. I felt there's more... ah, fun to see where you would walk to or what plan would you enact next. Would you mind, then, Milady?"
