It was long before the tournament of power, a few months in fact, and Komatsu was still dealing with the initial contract with the Galactic Patrol. While Koma could have set up the Remnants as an unofficial mercenary group, he had wanted to register them with the galactic patrol for the sole purpose of being able to work alongside them. If the Remnants had a noble cause to fight for then surely it would change their mindset. He didn't want to force any of them into a battle they didn't believe in, so if he just guided what they thought was just.
"Excellent. Thank you for your time, Galactic King. I promise you that the Remnant Alliance will do it's utmost in regards to this contract." Komatsu stated as both men stood up from their seats. Komatsu walked over to the older, orange haired man and took his hand, shaking it firmly as the agreement was made and the contract was signed. It was a great step in the right direction as far as Koma was concerned. Surely this would start to change people's perception of the saiyans. He wanted them to once more be seen as noble warriors, not war mongers.
With that done, the Galactic King left the Citadel to inspect the city alongside the ambassador they would be leaving behind (his own daughter!), and Komatsu left the Citadel to go home. He had some training to catch up on... but he supposed just one day of rest couldn't be such a horrible thing. He didn't want to spook the Galactic King with his power either if he pushed himself in his training.
The walk home was quiet, and Komatsu chose to walk it instead of fly straight there so that he could have a moment of peace... it was something the saiyan didn't often get in his life and so he enjoyed every step. The sounds of the building city around him only accented the natural sounds of Namek itself. He admired every building he passed, even though half of them were all Capsule Corp pop up homes for the time being. This was really coming together, all of his efforts were starting to bear fruit, and little did he know, so was someone else.
When he finally made it home, he'd step inside and slip out of his boots, tossing his jacket aside on top of them and letting a wide yawn escape his lips as he walked into the kitchen. He'd reach for the fridge, pulling out a bottle of water and beginning to chug it down.

Kohlrabi was having a bit of a busy day herself. She had never been one for regularly scheduled doctors check ups, as she was convinced by this point that one day of not training was one whole day wasted. Maybe a visit with the Citadel's medical personnel would answer some of the questions that had recently been bothering her. It seemed no matter how much she might train, or how much she might push herself beyond the natural limits of a Super Saiyan, she would make hardly any progress. She wouldn't dare to say none, as she must give herself some credit for the little progress she had made so far, but something was very clearly up and she hoped a doctor would understand. On top of this concern, she was eating a whole lot more too. Sometimes in weird combination of things she might normally just dislike. It might be easily attributed to her body requiring more nourishment and vitamins as her training regimen grew harsher and harsher, but Kohlrabi wasn't any fitness guru.
While her husband was off being diplomatic and all that fancy political stuff that could only hold Kohlrabi's interest for about two seconds at a time, she was having somebody check on her. Just a plain ole' regular routine check up: Brief Q&A, heart stuff, blood pressure, etc. Things Kohlrabi thought Saiyans wouldn't normally care about, but she supposed heart conditions must be a pretty scary issue among the older or more stressed out warriors. Especially after the trauma of having their planet gobbled up. That aside though, the doctor would now be checking for any abnormalities a basic check up could miss with just a little bit of Ki sense and a moments' concentration, running their hand from top to bottom over Kohlrabi, extra careful to not make skin contact. This angry blue monkey had a reputation, see.
On the second go around with the hand coming back up towards Kohl's head, it stopped just over her gut. A quizzical expression crossed the doctor's face as they gently lowered their hand to make contact with the hybrid's skin. Cold, gloved hand against one's stomach was never an unpleasant thing, but fortunately the doctor was spared a punchy and flailing Kohlrabi. That quizzical expression soon became one closer to surprise, or terror, but that questioning look was still very much there. Kohl herself was growing curious, wondering what had the doc idling for so long. The doctor cleared their throat nervously and then looked up to the hybrid. They were a generic, younger Saiyan- Most likely a hybrid, if Kohl wanted to judge by looks. A woman, too, as specifically requested. Even as an adult, Kohlrabi was a bit of a brat about that subject. Though honestly, if her parents were here today, one might argue she had started off pretty mellow and then gotten brattier as she got older.
"So, um.. It would be rude to ask directly, but have you been having encounters of a more sexual kind recently?" The doctor spoke, clearly either nervous or still a little startled by what she had found. Given that this whole deal was their profession, Kohlrabi chose to assume the latter. It wasn't a hard question to answer for the hybrid, she held no shame over what she had been getting up to with her own lover. Kohlrabi sat up and started to put her clothes and armor back on. "Yeah, of course." She said while in the process of fitting her armor back onto herself. Meanwhile the doctor would speak again. "Well.. I have no idea how to put this lightly, but if the extra Ki signature is anything to go off of, you've got a baby inside you."
Eyes wide and with her arm barely through the first hole, Kohlrabi jerked forward and then tumbled off onto the floor with a loud thud, enough to have miscellaneous items around the room clatter and then drop to the floor as well. There was a bit of a panic in the medbay before Kohlrabi was helped back up to her feet. She swiftly finished shoving her chestplate on and let out an indignant huff. "A baby, huh.." Kohlrabi began to worry just then, her mind paranoid and fearing the worst outcome in this situation. Komatsu already held so much responsibility, and now with a baby to add on to that? How would he take the news?
She was out of the medbay quick as a whip after that, not so much as a goodbye to the staff as she bolted her way out and then back home. Wasting no time, and immediately just bolting it. Zipping passed any building that might happen to be in her path. When she reached the front door, she took it down several notches and landed carefully, her hand already wrapped around the door's handle and twisting it to push it open. The hybrid could already feel that Komatsu was home, with just a little Ki sense, and the fact his signature was by far the most easiest one for her to recognize. Some part of her wished to sneak on by and just head to bed, but there was no way she wouldn't be caught and she knew she had to be responsible and face this. Better he find out now, than later when it's a nastier surprise, right? Again, it could just be her being paranoid that's making her think this could all go wrong.
Even though she had pretty much just put it back on, she took her breastplate off again and set it by the door. Would wearing it be bad for her kids? Or would it be fine, since the material was nice and stretchy? She didn't know- She didn't know squat about kids and being pregnant and all that hoo-ey. It made her really wish that her mom were there to maybe give her a pointer or two. She let out her second indignant huff for that day and made her way to where she suspected her mate would be, catching him just in the nick of time that he would be in the process of showing a water bottle who's boss. By all logic, it would have been smart to wait for him to finish and then for him to notice her, but she couldn't stop it as the words rose in her throat- Honestly, it felt like a panic reaction. She inhaled deeply, and then spoke those magic words.

He heard the door open before he even focused on Kohlrabi's ki signature. He was so used to having her around now that he never really bothered to look for her, she was always nearby somewhere. He continued to chug the water bottle until she came into the dining room and made her announcement. Komatsu would promptly inhale the water he was drinking and start choking on the fluid.
It burned to hell, the water trying to make it's way out his nose as he tried to breath. He dropped the remains of the water bottle as he reached up to his throat, wincing as the water bubble would finally make it's way down his throat painfully, making the saiyan wince and cough violently.
"I...Wh...what?" He gasped as his little choking fit finally started to subside. He looked over towards Kohlrabi with a pained, yet shocked expression on his face. He wasn't exactly sure how to react to her sudden news. She was pregnant? Was she being serious? he doubted Kohlrabi would pull a joke like that on him... unless he was in an extremely sour mood and needed to be snapped out of it. He wasn't in a mood was he? He tried to think back on his own actions, analysing them to see if he had done something wrong to get her to play this joke on him. Nope... nothing as far as he could tell...
That means she was serious..? She was pregnant? He reached out with his ki sense, feeling out her energy and picking up the slightest tinge of a secondary energy signature coming from Kohlrabi herself. At first, the look on his face remained one of pure shock. He didn't know what to make of this! The hell did he know about being a dad? The last time he actually had a dad there for him he had been 5 years old, baring his short encounter with the man in the afterlife. He had nothing to base this off of. How did someone he a dad? A good dad to be more precise? He wasn't so sure he was quite ready for it... but then again, if they put the kid in an incubation chamber then it would be at least 3 years before he had to face that reality.
He looked Kohlrabi in the eyes, her panic mirroring in his own and it sunk in that he wasn't the only one feeling like this. As far as he knew, Kohlrabi didn't have the best examples of parent's either, so she was probably scared shit-less too.
"So... we're really going to have a baby?" He asked, taking a step towards Kohl, then another, and another until he was standing right in front of her. He didn't really wait for her to answer, instead just wrapping his arms around her and bringing her into a heated, passionate kiss. Of course he was ecstatic about this, though he was just as equally scared...

Kohlrabi was quick to come to her mate as he choked. She had to admit, her timing was pretty bad.. But she couldn't hold back the words from spilling out of her. She was filled to the brim with a mixture of fear and excitement. Excited, she was, that one of her dreams was finally coming true. Fearful, that she might be like her own mother in terms of parenting. If one were to ask, she might tell them her mother was more Saiyan in their way of parenting than her father had been. She was a tough woman- sometimes cold, but that didn't mean she was a bad mom. It just meant Kohlrabi didn't want to be like that. She wanted to be close with her family- a good wife, and a good mother. At this point, being a good fighter on top of that felt like a pipe dream, but she could settle for those first two things if that were the trade off. The hybrid ran her hand up and down up Komatsu's back, unable to help but let out a nervous little laugh in response to his reaction. She was sweating at the brow, by this point. So excited that she had broken into a cold, fearful sweat. Heck, she was starting to feel nauseated. Hopefully that was just her anxiety, and not the twins being little punks!
Regardless, Kohlrabi either didn't immediately have an answer, or she just didn't have one at all. She was equally as shocked, to be sure- Now fully emotionally processing the extent of her situation. And yet on instinct she still found time to return Komatsu's affection, wrapping her arms up and around his neck lightly and returning his kiss. Letting the warmth provided grant her a feeling of security, just like her mate's love had always done. The hybrid kept her embrace light when she gently eased out of the kiss, once she felt she had the strength and nerve to give a good, rational answer. "Yeah.. We are. I won't lie, this is something I've really wanted. But um.." She didn't know how to say it at first, her gaze trailing to the side and her lips pursing as a nervous gesture. "I don't want to put them in an incubator. I know they might be safer that way, but I wouldn't be able to rest easy knowing my children were locked up like that, and not close to us." Kohlrabi looked back up, dark blue eyes shining with her usual determination, as if she had already made up her mind on the matter. "I just feel like they're safer with me. I think I can protect myself pretty well, and I know not to get into any dumb fights.." She paused, after that, wanting to let Komatsu give his input before she continued.

Komatsu's heart was still beating fiercely in his chest even after their kiss broke apart. He felt out of breath, exhausted like he'd been training for a week and yet somehow still full of energy and excitement! It was a turmoil of emotion and he wanted to do nothing other than hold Kohlrabi tightly to deal with it... but he was scared of doing that now too! Especially when she voiced her desire to actually carry this kid herself instead of putting it in an incubation chamber.
"... Are you sure about that? I don't know the first thing about taking care of a newborn... I don't even know the first thing about taking care of you if you carry it... Not that you can't take care of yourself but... I don't know... I don't know what to do... I never had a great family life..." He admitted, his voice a little shaky as he tried to search his thoughts and feelings about what was going on. Gently he would take a step back and place his hands around her stomach, not that she was showing yet but as his hands connected with her, he reached out with his own ki sense and felt that tiny little spark of a separate life energy and he just smiled softly.
"If you're sure that's what you want... who am I to tell you what to do..." He would say finally, letting his hands slip past her hips now and to her back, using the movement to then scoop Kohlrabi up into his arms, smirking devilishly.
" Looks like no training for you for a while then, so, what should we do instead? Anything you want~"

"We can figure it out together! It might be hard, but.. Doubt it's any harder than you resurrecting a huge chunk of our people, is it?" She was quite happy to be scooped up and held. Of her short list of positions to be in, this was probably second place. First place is sure as heck not for mentioning with opened doors. She brought her arms up to loop around Komatsu's neck and got real comfy where she was. "You could do it even if you were alone because you're just so darn capable and efficient, but you've got me here to help you. We'll figure it out, take advice.. We got plenty of old fathers and mothers on Namek we could talk to, and I'm sure there will be a book or two on some of these Earthlings on the subject. But you can leave the studying bit to me, you've got big things to worry about. I can just summarize and pass on the actual relevant bits." She said as she leaned her head to the side just a tad, resting it against her lover and letting out a content sigh. Kohlrabi was far less anxious in this position, finding it very easy to relax, and think rationally as a result.
When she was told she couldn't train though, she gave Komatsu her signature 'pouty lips, furrowed brow' look. "B-But! I could like.. Punch rocks, or something! I did it on Natto, I'm sure the guru guy wouldn't mind if I punched some boulders.." She huffed, but ultimately accepted the declaration with a little nod- at least for now. That boulder stuff would be a thing in the future. "I dunno~ I'm sure you're tired from today, so how about we call in a little early? Talk about things- Like y'know.. names. We're gonna need those, heck." The hybrid huffed a second time.

"I mean to be fair, finding the Dragonballs wasn't all that difficult~" Komatsu admitted, much more fearful of what it would be like to be around a pregnant Kohlrabi, and even more so what it would be like around such a small child... Koma really needed to learn how to properly control his strength so that he wouldn't ever ever hurt it! He was going t need some serious Ki Suppression.
When Kohl went on however about how she would worry about all the studying on what she should do to take care of herself, Komatsu would just shake his head. Sure he would be busy, but he would never be so busy as to leave such an important task to her alone.
"You are way more important to me than anything else I could be busy with. Kohl... I want to be there for you and our child no matter what... If I ever get too wrapped p in Alliance work, just give me a slid slap behind the head and drag me home. I'm not the best reader, but I'll learn to make sure you are both safe. " He said while holding onto her tightly as she rested her head against him. He'd smile gently as he carried Kohl towards their room, scooching his butt onto bed while still holding her, then propping her down onto the mattress while he lay down next to her.
"If you absolutely have to punch a rock then fine, punch a rock, but nothing that hits back. Promise me you'll stay out of trouble?" He pleaded with her as he curled up next to her, gently stroking his hand through her blue locks. He couldn’t help but wonder what kind of father he was going to be, or what kind he wanted to be… He only knew his on parents a few short years, so he didn’t have his own fathers actions to base himself on… and Nasu, well wasn’t his ideal father figure either… He definitely didn’t want to be like Miso either, but then again he didn’t want t be to sft on the kid… it would still be a saiyan, and with parents like them, it was definitely going to be a hell of a fighter.
