A Brush with Death [Alliance Member/Ask]

As soon as the call was received through their scouters that there was a spy int heir midst, Zeno was the first to leap into action. He had to ensure all of their data was first safe, and proceed to check for any suspicious activity. Seeing as they didn't have a name yet on who this spy was, it was going to take Zeno some time. Therefore, he initiated a lockdown sequence of the Citadel. Simply put, no one would be allowed in or out while they were locked down. Sure, a spy wasn't any reason to really seal the place up so tightly under normal circumstances... but this wasn't normal. Cendo had been entrusted with Beat's 'last message', and neither Zeno or Toru could sense Beat's energy very clearly anymore. They had sensed some earlier flare ups but had passed it off as training.

So now this meant that there was a spy in the Citadel strong enough to defeat one of their strongest Warriors. Beat trained directly under Komatsu, so any attack on him, could be considered an attack on the very leader of this Alliance. It was a precarious situation, and one they had to tread extremely carefully with. Hopefully this lockdown would cause said spy to start acting more suspiciously, leading to a quicker capture.

While Zeno was busy working away, Toru instead leaped outside his office at top speed, pushing himself into his Super Saiyan form so that he made it to Beat's side in a matter of a minute after the call was received. This wasn't good... Beat was SEVERELY beaten up, a trail of blood clearly indicating the direction that Toru should take to get to him. It was horrifying to be honest, even for him... He'd seen a lot in his life, but he would never get used to a child being defeated or killed, and this? It honestly reminded him of the state he'd found Komatsu in several times while they were both prisoners in the Empire's prison.

"Beat... What... What the hell happened to him? Who did this?"
He'd asked the distraught Cendo but got no immediate answer. Toru would kneel next t Beat, staying in his Super Saiyan form the whole time. He'd be hesitant to touch the boy, worried that he might move him in a way he shouldn't and kill him before they could get him back to the citadel. Instead he would opt to take out a small needle from one of his pouched, using it to inject a small amount of liquid into Beat's forearm. That needle was a healing agent, a sort of portable Healing Machine meant for saiyans. It wouldn't do much, but it would stabilize Beat long enough for the medics to arrive.

From there things seemed to move quickly. The medics took beat to the central hospital, needing to perform a few hours of surgery on Beat before they could even stick him in the medical chamber which didn't happen all that often. It just went to show how bad things where for the boy.

Whenever Forte arrived, he was the first to tell her everything he knew, catching the woman as she collapsed with the tears of worry in her eyes. He understood them all too well... had things ended up different with his own family, he would have been much closer to them. Not to say he wouldn't panic now if something happened to them, but he had grown somewhat... distant, of at least 2 of his children. He shook his head of that thought, carrying Forte into an adjacent room where he would lay her down and cover her up with a blanket as he moved back towards the door. He'd stand in the doorframe, his eyes locked on the operating room.

When they finally came out, they would Wheel Beet into the same room Toru had just put his mother down and carefully load him up into the Healing Tank, placing the oxygen mask over his face before sealing him in and letting the machine do it's work.

"It's at times like these I wish I had telepathy... What happened to you kid..?"
Toru would mumble, still remaining by the doorframe, just watching both Beat and his mother.

Toru would glance over his shoulder as he heard the door open again, another saiyan male walking into the room. At first, Toru would stand up straighter, staring at the man cautiously, but then calmed down when it was made clear that this was Beat's father. In his shoes, Toru would probably be just as much of a mess... but he wasn't, and never again would he be. His heart tightened slightly at the sight of father and son, but with a quick shake of his head he would turn his back on the scene, walking out of the room along with Cendo to give them some time alone. It was so strange to be around so much human emotion again... it was disarming, and against all odds he... he didn't like it.

Cendo then started to talk to him, asking if it was wrong to not be proud of Beat and that caused Toru to sigh.

"You're thinking like a human, but you have to remember that he isn't fully human. You might not be proud of the kid but I am. He fought against someone stronger than him over the Dragonballs of all things and survived. He was able to discover a traitor in our midsts. He has been training day in and day out with and without Komatsu every day to be the best that he can be. Not because he want's to be strong for himself, but because he wants to be strong for you, for his family and for his friends.

It sucks that he got beaten this badly, yeah, but wounds heal. He's going to learn from this experience and he's going to grow from it. It's part of being a saiyan, we seem to learn more through failure than we do through victory.

So be proud of him, proud that he had the courage to act when no one else could, proud of his strength, proud of HIM for being the kind of person everyone can look up to. He's already been defeated physically, don't defeat him emotionally."
That was... probably one of the more saiyan speeches that Toru had ever given, and it made him realise just how different the man had become since he was that lone Earthling boy working on his uncles farm. He'd been through so much as a saiyan, he wasn't sure he could ever go back now to being a human...

Was all Toru could say as the boy's mother came in and explained in more detail why he shouldn't be angry with Beat. It truly was a bad situation, and it sucked that a kid had to be the one to suffer the consequences of fighting for the Dragonballs but... it was unfortunately the reality of things. He needed to find out from Beat who was strong enough to Beat him this badly as soon as he woke up... Having such a huge threat on their hands could be disastrous. Hence the lockdown.

When Renka then asked him where they were going from here, and whether or not Lucky had been informed about Beat, Toru could only chuckle nervously, rubbing the back of his neck at that.

"Well, yeah I sent Zeno to tell Lucky but uh... well she's less than happy so we're making her wait until Beat's healed up. The kids a goofy idiot, but I wouldn't put it passed her to break him out of the machine to slap him around some more."
He said with that same nervous chuckle. It was definitely a part of Lucky he'd never seen before, to see such determination from the girl in regards to just 1 person.

"As for the lock down, honestly we've lost enough saiyan lives in recent years, so I want to make sure everyone stays close to those of us with enough power to defend them. If anything happens inside our walls while the lockdown is in place, then it's going to make it a lot easier to find out who did this. As for our allies, Zeno's also in charge of that, as is Yasai. Yasai is informing the Guru and Zeno will speak to Queen Kinoko about all of this. Everything is under control, and so far there haven't been any further incidents."
He informed her, glancing back to the med bay door, letting a sigh escape his lips as he stuck his hands in his pockets, looking back towards the two.

"I'll stay here until he wakes up, for now though he needs rest."
