Sadal sure was beautiful today! The young hybrid would make her way outside her home with her typical gear on. One metal crown? Checked. One breast plate armor? Checked. Armored arms? Checked. Armor- Oh forget it! Everything was checked! She would lightly close the door behind her and take a whiff of all that fresh air! A large smile on her face as she fell amazed to be alive today! "Oh... Thank you so much light for making my days great! Let this be another one to be grateful for!" saying in a pumped up tone! She would quickly run off to her training grounds! Eager to get her day all started! She'd run through tall grasses, a bridge, and some beautiful trees to make her way to the plains! The plains was the place she considered her training grounds because of how open it was for her to exercise and run around freely! The plains were... obviously very beautiful! A single tree laid out in the center of it all with some strange writing seen on it.
As Tau arrived, she began to push her brakes down. This wasn't a place to get all antsy for. This place to her is... a place that needs to be respected. This was the area her parents first met at after all. Carrying her lance-like pole arm. She'd slowly step towards the center of the plains, near the tree with the odd writing on it. That beautiful smile was still firm on her face as she approached the tree like a gentle mother approaching her sleeping baby. As she stood in front of the tree, she lightly jabbed the end of her weapon into the ground and fell to her knees in front of her tree. She lightly closed her eyes and looked down... It was now time for her to began thinking to herself in her mind. 'Father... I hope you are doing well... Wherever you are, I hope you're hearing this... I deeply miss you. I wish you were home right now to finish your training sessions with me. I felt as if we weren't finished yet... I hope your quest in finding mom is going well after all. Please... Come home and give me a hug. I've been so lonely around here... None of the trainers come here anymore because you're not around. Daddy... Please...' her smile would fad off as she would lightly emit some silent tears... Her telepathy receiving no responses...
It truly was a depressing moment for the young hybrid... She almost felt abandoned by her father by this point. It has been five years after all. She would close up her message, 'I love you daddy...' and lightly open her eyes. The shade feeling rather nice on her as she began wiping away her tears. Right! Now the sad part is away! She would cheer herself up with some positive thoughts! 'Today is going to be special! I'm gonna work on movements!' lightly standing up from her thoughts speaking out to her.
The young maiden would pull her weapon from the ground and walk back into the fields. She would now know her training needed to get started. And with that, she would spread her legs out and extend the weapon forward! Her face looking very serious right now as she was in her form. She began forming mental images of figures standing before her.. That was actually one of the things she was taught was to pretend there was someone there ready to fight her. You'd just never know when you could not have an actual target so always imagining a target was good! A black figure appeared before her as she kept her weapon pointed at them... The showdown rather calming and smooth at first until.... MOVEMENT! The black figure charged her as she stood strong! The figure would come into striking range until Tau would spin herself to the side to evade the target.
It was pretty much like a kid playing imaginary friends here... The figure runs past her as she tries to spin and jab the figure. However, her attack would fail as the figure would evade her as well just in time.
She'd push herself back to give the figure some distance but it wasn't gonna give up on her that easy! It quickly came back around and attempted to throw a blunt blow against her! Her eyes widen as she blocked the incoming blow! Her face look desperate, spinning her pole arm sideways to whack the being on its side! It looks like it was clearly open trying to punch her! Finally, giving herself a chance to get some space... The figure would stand there and recover from the damage it had taken. This was actually the best training session she's done yet. Usually, these fights would end rather quickly but with her thinking of making the opponent tougher... It made things a lot more better! Tau would spin her pole arm and slide her leg back to get back into formation with herself. She sure needed to pay attention because making one wrong move could cost her. That's why she was very sharp and on alert... With the figure taking on a defensive stance, it was her cue to perhaps strike first! VERY WELL! Tau would smirk and charge forward, attempting to jab the tip into the figure! However, the figure would quickly dodge it ease! Tau's face looked surprised as she now began thrusting several times towards the dark figure. Each blow missing each time!
Finally, the figure went in for a low kick which made Tau jump! That was a hell of a surprise! Flipping herself backwards to assume her position. Hmph... Making the target have high defensive capabilities sure was fun! She would twirl her pole arm to get herself back into the motion of it. She frequently did this to get in sync with herself and her weapon. The fight was far from over... She would finally get in sync with herself and aim the tip back at her opponent as the two would face off! This time... She would wait! The opponent stood there and gave her a dark glare... It had no face... Just red eyes... That was fine though for she imagined her threats to appear like this in her visions. It was rather quiet for a moment with her weapon still like a statue when suddenly the figure would advance! That was Tau's queue to charge in against it! As she collides with her opponent, she would clash her weapon against its arm! She would bite her teeth down, pushing all her physical strength against it as she would try and win the clash! However, it almost felt certain that the figure was stronger...! WAIT NO! Tau pressed all her power in and pushed the dark figure off balance! With that, she would bring her weapon down on the opponent and rip their chest open! A satisfied Tau would back off as she aimed her weapon at it... Of course, it took no damage but... it still got hit! Backing up, it would assume its position... The two would rest for now but giving each other a showdown!
At long last, she was away from planet Matteria. All of the plans she had been forming for the last couple of decades could finally come to fruition without her being underneath someone else's rule. Playing the role of a compassionate patriot to be able to play the role of an ambassador for Tenebrae had gone excellently. No doubt the other kingdoms and nations had sent ambassadors and or representatives of their own as well. Ashe would do well to stay on their good sides, if she wanted to have allies with both political influence and prowess in physical combat. Even with all the lights in her pod turned down, to a point she'd blocked her view of the outside and took advantage of the luxuries of auto-pilot, she could not keep her mind from racing. Touching on all the variables, playing out the scenarios way too far ahead of time. It was the smart thing to slow down and simply let things play out as they came to her, adapt to the situation and such. Still though, it was just all so exciting that she had complete freedom to act now. She no longer had to hide in her self-imposed exile, quietly hating her peers. Ashe wasn't a very emotional person, so what little excitement she felt was just too much to contain. It was such a wonderful and spiteful feeling, she felt incredibly light and powerful.
Her attempts at reading the book she had her nose buried in would finally be put to rest as a bright red flashing light filled her pod, the following sharp sounding and very annoying noise would act as the nails in the coffin. The first bump on this Elemi's long road was about to hit her. Quite literally, too. Ashe snapped her book shut and looked up, just in time for her pod to make impact with the planet's surface. She was thrown and jerked about much like a rag doll as the pod bounced somewhat, rolled, and the made its final slam against the ground.
Ashe was a frail girl. By no means was she s martial artist, meaning she had quite a number of injuries to her. Nothing major, but she was still quite sore. Cuts, scrapes, bruises, all over her petite body. On the bright side, the admittedly worst part about the landing was that she was now upside down. She thought her day couldn't have gotten much worse until her first attempt to move was made. Her pod door burst open, dropping her out of it and onto the then opened door.. Along with an unreasonable amount of books, scattering to the ground around the opening of the pod and on top of a rather peeved off and in pain Ashe.
It was on that day that Ashe learned auto-pilot doesn't mean self-landing. Was it really such a crime to want to put focus into her studied? Such a wonderful little day for the grumpy little Elemi so far. What could possibly come next, forced social interaction? Given how close this crash had been to a certain somebody, and the lack of subtlety in her landing, it seemed pretty likely. Not that she would know. For all she knew she was alone out here and would eventually pick her own self up. AND transport all those dang books.. She wasn't about to just leave them!

The Hybrid would begin to circle her target in an attempt to surround her foe... This fight was going rather really well! Tau gave her opponent a serious and determined glare... Eager to strike them down with one foul swoop! With that, she'd lunge forward and attempt to drive down pole arm against her opponent! The shadowy figure would cross their arms and block which made Tau resort to flipping her weapon under their CROTCH! Yes, a crotch shot but it was a vital part. The figure was successfully hit, stumbling backwards as she would bite her teeth down and lunge her pole arm inside the shadowy imaginary figure! "RAAAA!!" getting all her might thrown in that thrust. Luckily, it would pierce through and fade away her opponent! Victory for the hybrid today! She panted lightly as sweat beats down on her face. What a beautiful fight that was... She would huff out some air and spin her weapon in victory, slamming the end into the ground! Tau smiled at her victory as she left her weapon there to rest, walking under the tree...
She would sit her butt down on the floor and reach over to the water faucet to turn it on. What a glorious day it has been! Winning another spar like usual! It was always fun to practice. She would glide her hand under the water and splash her face to wash her skin from the sticky sweat that clung it. She would then crawl over to it and brought her lips to the running water and began to drink from it... The water was warm but it was satisfying to quinch her thirst. Tau would lightly turn off the water faucet and wipe her lips from being filled. This was pretty much her regular training routine everyday... Get up, change, eat, leave, train, etc. She was now just about to get back up to fight but she decided to take a bit of a longer break here... She really needed to think about... possibly exploring? The idea has been on her mind for such a long time but she doesn't know if it's really a good idea. She's been waiting for her father for so long and all... Wouldn't it be better to just get out of her home and explore to meet new people and grow? All those thoughts would go through her mind and it all ended with a saddening sigh.
While slowly getting up, she felt... someone coming? Her eyes widen as she suddenly felt excited! "Wait..! Is someone actually around here?! Oh my goodness! YES!" she jumped up into the air like a cheerleader, feeling incredibly excited! She hasn't seen anyone for three years! This was truly an exciting moment for her! She would run from under the tree and went near her weapon to sudden radar out their location... They were... in the skies? She looked up and noticed a pod come flying in! Her eyes went actually wider, "T-That person is not slowing down!" She would quickly pull her weapon out and begin to sprint towards the general area of the pod's landing zone. 'What the heck is this..?! An alien?! Maybe the our people's military?! Just who could this be?!' thinking to herself as she tried to hurry to the area. However, as she was still trying to make her way over, the pod ends up slamming the ground hard! Tau immediately started to pick it up to try and get there to help!
Finally, she made it through the forests and to the pod! The area around here was destroyed... A crater in the ground.. Tau would pant lightly as she hauled herself over to the crater and slid down! 'I really hope this person isn't hurt...!' her concern being at an all time high. She would notice the pod's door was still shut which was yet another concern for her to worry about... She would sigh lightly and drop the weapon on the ground, "Light... Please protect.." her eyes closed for a moment as she approached the pod. THEN! It opened! She would watch as the little elemi dropped out, Tau gasping in shock in hopes the person was okay!
And she was... The hybrid sighing in relief as she quickly saw all the papers fly all over the place! Her eyes examining the little elemi for a moment to see who she was. The little elemi wouldn't expect to see the Light Maiden there, wouldn't she?! Tau would get beside the girl and kneel down, "By the Light... Are you okay, sweetie?!" her tone was concerned yet so soft... Tau didn't want to touch her.... but at the same time she did! She would lightly attempt to put her hands under her back and support her up. She did this of course very gently. "Speak to me... Are you okay? Are you hurt? I'm here for you..." Tau could see she's clearly conscious and all but was she stunned? Shocked? If anything she looks angry or pissy... Still! The hybrid would be willing to help her out even if she didn't want it!
Tau would lightly sigh in relief though... She was alive, though hurt... "You're hurt... Really bad... We need to get you back to my home and get you in the guest's room... I'll make sure you have food and everything you need..." she would softly say as she attempted to lightly pick her up! She was intending on bringing her home and to get her situated... The little elemi could deny her doing this and jump out of her arms and that would make Tau upset or anything. She just felt really bad for this girl. She seems unhappy or grumpy in her face... Tau wanted to help her out best she could! Despite being a complete stranger to her! It didn't matter though... Today was supposed to be an epic and great day! Maybe this was the Light's doing after all! WC: 1,000 WCT: 2,209
No, Ashe was not at all expecting Tau. When the woman came into her view, Ashe could feel the presence of light within her. It would've made her head hurt if it didn't already from smacking her head on the pod door. Of course it didn't take just senses to come to the conclusion this was some Elemi.. By the Light? If Saiyans started saying that sort of stuff, she would either have to commend the quick work of whoever the Light Elemi sent, or try not to puke. That wasn't to say she hated them, or anything. But Ashe was the type to consider religion a waste of time. Time better spent on bettering oneself!
She didn't resist when an uninvited touch was felt against her back, pushing her up. Putting the sun out of her eyes, she could now properly see her apparent savior and suffice to say, she was a bit taken aback. Ashe wouldn't believe she were a full blood now, based off her appearance, but wherever her other genes might come from somehow rounded everything out quite nicely. Ashe might dare to say that the light in this lady was tolerable. She didn't look angry of pissy! Just taken aback for reasons she did not care to acknowledge nor admit "Ah.. Uh.." The little Elemi muttered, briefly dumbfounded before sort of composing herself. At least as composed as one can be when being cradled by some stranger, while also having just survived a crash landing.
Then a realization hit her. She made a surprised, somewhat irritated face at the woman. Mostly surprise, mind you. "Did you just call me sweetie? Do I look like a sweetie to you?" And of the two things she chose to protest to, it was the term of endearment and not the fact she was now being picked up. Rather weightlessly, too. The little elemi twitched her nose as a sign of annoyance. Yes, she was covered in minor little injuries.. But why did that mean she had to be taken to some stranger's house? Couldn't they just slap some bandages on her? Ashe huffed, going through all sorts of unreasonable excuses in her head to avoid all this, but not voicing them. That soft voice she kept using was making Ashenya a lot more cooperative than she might be normally, but she hated that she couldn't figure out why or how it had that effect.
Ashe was used to looking for and taking care of herself. Having someone else so insistent upon doing it was messing with her head. What the heck had she ever done for this lady? If she were full blood, she would have left her to rot in the wilderness! This was just weird for her.
The little elemi was rather quiet but she did make one comment! As she was being picked up, she made a surprised comment about Tau calling her 'sweetie'. A little grinch wasn't she? Tau didn't mind her attitude there but simply gave her the nicest smile any hater would hate. "I did... I did call you a sweetie... I figured by your looks you were indeed a little sweetie~!" Tau began to giggle as she carried her to safety. It was so nice to see someone! This has honestly made Tau's day so much better! However, there was one small thing Tau could feel...
The energy in this little elemi felt different. She didn't feel very saiyan-like... No... She felt more closer to her father's blood then all else... Though this was all her ki sensing after all... She couldn't quite get it... She'd walk past her weapon and gave it a look for a moment.. "I'll be back for that later..." she mumbled under her breath as she carried her new friend up the crater! Throughout all this time, she was actually just... smiling? Despite Ashe being a total stranger to her, she seemed very open and friendly with her. The hybrid was clearly not going to leave someone like that in the middle of no where... Especially when they've got some wounds on them. Sure, her wounds weren't bad but Tau was going to do anything to help. "It's a pleasure to meet you, love... My name's Tau... I'm called the Maiden of the Light around these parts... It's my dream to help those in need! When I saw your spaceship thing coming I got really excited! I hadn't seen a single person in... three years? But to see you slightly hurt made me extremely worried so I'm doing this pickup on you now so you can save your energy... Please! Don't resist me... I promise you can trust me..." trying to sooth Ashe with her gentle voice.
Obviously, Ashe wasn't putting much of a resistance towards her but Tau wanted to explain to her that she means her no harm. When they got out of the forest, they'd finally make their way to a door! This door was built against a wall in the earth as she slowly opened it with what she could... "G-Gah...! Stupid-" open! The door would slowly open up which would allow the two to enter... She'd keep that firm smile on her face as the entire room was pitch black.. "Don't worry... I know the way through.. I've gotta light the candles when I set you down.." she spoke to her in the darkness.. Her metal boots clicked against the wood floors as yet another door came! Luckily, this door was open so she just walked through. Ashe could probably sense the area around her being in all this darkness... If she could, she could easily tell that this place was indeed an organized home... A rather nice one at that! The smell in this home was so clean and a strong herbal incense could be smelled.
The Light Maiden slowly found her bed with ease and lightly set Ashe down on it, walking off for a moment... She was going over to a candle to the side of the bed where she lit the tip of it with her finger... Ki was truly an awesome power! She would set the candle next to Ashe's bed and always kept that smile on her... "I apologize for no light... My father never built windows out of the rocks so I have to light the area with candles," stepping over to a long leaf hanging on a plate across the room... She would lightly light the leaf's tip on fire.... A wonderful scent coming off it as she lets it burn. She would walk towards the doorway of the room and turn to Ashe, "Please excuse me... I have to go grab the medical supplies... It won't take but a moment," walking out of the room for a moment. The Light Maiden began lighting up candles across the home as she made her way to the medical stuff. 'Such an exciting moment! To have company in my home after three years... I hope she'll be happy with me!' thinking to herself. Stepping into the bathroom, she would grab the medical bag and walk back out towards the room. It took her no longer than two minutes to return. Oddly enough... She was still stinkin' smiling. She'd lightly remove her crown and set it aside, sitting on the side of her bed as she opened her bag.. "I wanna apologize again... The shelves are a little dusty and the table's candle is old... I hope you can forgive me for the inconvenience..." she softly said in a worried tone. She wasn't even playing either or being sarcastic! She actually was being sorry for it being like this! Though, the hybrid now pulled out the needed supplies, she would lightly grab her arm and begin cleaning the minor cuts she had. "If this stings... Please don't be alarmed... I had these herbs specially made for these situations... They should help!" her tone always so damn soft! She kept that smile going as she was fixing her up though, cleaning, wiping, and bandaging the cuts. It was incredible how softhearted she was towards Ashe being a total stranger.. Tau was absolutely thankful to say she's here to keep her company after three years..
"All done... How do you feel..?" asking in a caring tone. She looked at Ashe's eyes for a moment to see a smudge of dirt on her face... Now how did that get there? Tau would pull her glove off and lightly lick her thumb. What next would probably creep Ashe out but she'd warn her first.. "You've got a little dirt on your cheek..." and then... THUMB GOES UP ON HER CHEEK! She started to wipe the dirt off her cheek! Tau actually had this odd amused smile going on but she would for the most part just do it and get it over with. Tau would begin putting the supplies away, lightly giggling... "I'm not used to having to care for someone... It just feels nice to finally have someone here with me! May I ask but... What's your name, love?" she asked in such a sweet tone. She really felt warm for this newcomer but not in any odd way... Just... felt really good about this person being here! She seemed healthy and stuff! So no need to worry anymore! "Hungry by any chance? I can make you something to eat, if you wish!"
Ashe was almost at a loss for words. Who was this girl? What strange universal anomaly had set forth the conditions to allow such a kind and unreasonably loving person to exist? She felt almost as if she should be offended that her idea of people and how capable of niceness they were had all been turned on its head and had all the lunch money shaken out of it. "L-Love, now!? What do I look like if you're calling me that!" The little Elemi protested, cocking a brow at Tau, expecting at least some sort of answer! And that.. voice. She couldn't tell if she hated or loved it. Was this some form of trick? Could she really trust this stranger? Friendliness like this couldn't just be for free, or without an ulterior motive. This had to be some kind of technique. Charming her, making her obey.. But was it really?
The little Elemi rolled her eyes. "Don't apologize for silly things.." She grumbled, folding her arms folded across her chest as she turned her gaze to face away. That voice and that smile.. What the absolute Hell was happening to her? She hated it do much that she didn't know what this was. She was supposed to know everything! And if not everything, then why not enough to recognize her own feelings and control them? She jerked slightly and she winced when Tau applied medicine to her wounds, a slight gasp escaping from her and then a huff. She looked at Tau from the side of her vision and then shrugged. The little Elemi didn't have a vocal response to give until there was a thumb rubbing her cheeks, soliciting a noise of protest from Ashe. She lightly swatted at the arm extended and twitched her nose in annoyance. "W-What was all that?" The girl stuttered, a hint of pink coloring Herr cheeks. She couldn't help it, she was flustered! 'Flustered? Is that what this is? No.. I don't know!' Ashe shook her head and let out another huff. "No, no thank you.. I'm not hungry, really.." Ashe found it so very hard to be saying no to that voice, and that look. But that wasn't any excuse to over eat!
She was so feisty! The little elemi could probably be considered an absolute brat to nearly most out there but to Tau? She was simply a blessing... She wasn't mad when her hand got slapped away when she was trying to clean her cheek. She wasn't even mad when her behavior and attitude was nasty or even rude... Sure, her father would consider this type of behavior rather rude and cruel but Tau wouldn't mind one bit of Ashe's behavior. When her hand got slapped away when wiping the dirt off her cheek, her face looked surprised at first but a little laugh came out of it! "My goodness! Your face! It's so darn adorable! You don't need to be so flustered over this!" she giggled towards Ashe. Yes... She did say flustered... What a coincidence!
Earlier, Ashe mentioned to never apologize for such silly things which made Tau lightly nod and smile as usual. "Right! I'm sorry I'm-... daaw.... Stop apologizing... Dang it.." She was trying to tell herself that by her guest's request. It was rather fine for her not to apologize for the little things... Her father was the same way. Though earlier she also remembered her feeling funny over being called LOVE! That part made her suddenly giggle... "Hehehe... I-I'm sorry... It's an old habit of mine. My daddy always told me to be gentle and sweet towards all strangers... I thought calling you love was a suitable name for you... You seem to really like it after all!" Truthfully, the hybrid didn't really get why the elemi was so jumpy over her. Most her guests she's had were honestly flattered by her little names. Still, the hybrid would scoot away from her a little bit to give her some space. She probably got tired of Tau being so close to her which is something understandable.
Tau would look into Ashe's eyes once more and gave her an incredibly happy stare... Finally... Someone here... to keep her company..
She hadn't felt this satisfied in such a long time. Even though she trains everyday to keep this kind of thing off her shoulders, loneliness can surely kill the soul. It's an ugly disease that needs a cure and here was the cure... Right in front of her. A sigh of relief was given from Tau, "Thank you..." she softly said to Ashe. Thank you? Just why would Ashe need a thank you? She's been a total brat to Tau and she's getting a thanks? What the hell? "You honestly don't understand but... I've been alone for so long... It's just nice to finally see a a friendly face around here... I'm honored to have you here as my guest.. I promise you, I won't let you down.." Looking away from her. On the shelves, there was some rather interesting things hanging on them. Pictures of the Elemi homeworld, Elemi artifacts on the shelves... If Ashe paid close attention to them, she'd easily be able to tell that they're elemi.
Still, the hybrid spoke, "You know... You never addressed me your name! Unless you wanna be called suitable names such a sweetie, cutie, or love... I'm perfectly fine with that! To be honest, you are actually pretty cute...!" she teased towards Ashe. She was partially saying that to get her to say her name. Consider that the cutest way of torturing someone for knowledge. Care and friendliness! All teases aside, Ashe said she wasn't hungry which made the woman nod. "Very well... I'm gonna still cook some food for myself but I'll still make you a plate just in case~... A little 'cutie' like you needs to eat too!" she started to giggle once more... Maybe calling her a cutie wasn't a bad idea! She got a flustered Ashe out of it and it honestly did suit her! She'd lightly push herself up, walking over to the incense to light it up again.
"If this starts smelling too strong you be sure to tell me, okay?" she said in a calm tone. She'd slowly walk back over to grab her glove off the table and looked at Ashe again, maybe the last time? "I'm sure you're very tired... If you need your privacy and require sleep I will leave you to it... I will in the meantime prepare us a broil," she stated as she slowly starts making her way out the doorway. She'd lightly pull the door back and left it cracked open a little. Tau would then proceed to her own room to where she would change out of her outfit. A lot less armor now and more of something casual. Stockings, a smaller dress, and a collared vest... Not so bad. She'd walk out afterwards and get into the kitchen where she would pull out the dried salted meat out. It definitely needed to be boiled to remove the salts so she started up the process. While their food was boiling at the firepit, she would walk over and grab one her father's old books from the shelves and began reading it to herself... The book's title was ' The Saiyan Anatomy'.. A rather boring book she's read over and over again but she was rather fascinated with all this stuff in all fairness. Once the meat finally was ready, she would move on to the next few steps and was making a steady path in making the best meat!
However, while cooking all this.. Tau wanted to actually think about this stuff a bit... She never even got the chance to ask the little elemi where she's from.. She didn't look very saiyan like... But she did feel strangely familiar to her dad's energy. Not one hundred percent but it certainly felt awfully familiar... Could she be another elemi? Tau began making these theories in her head as she sat at the dinner table... Wondering just who this girl could be... Tau had theories on it but if there's one thing for sure Tau knew... The girl was actually rather cute... WC: 1,006 WCT: 4,328
Making eye contact was just about the worst mistake Ashe could have made. She seemed to freeze up, unable to look away as if she had just been stared down by a Gorgon. Not in a bad way.. At least from a neutral perspective. From Ashe's perspective however, she wanted to scream. She clenched her teeth and shook her head, letting out a huff of irritation and looking away again. This whole being flustered of whatever.. She wasn't a big fan of it, or at least how it made her act and all. The Elemi sighed, actually making progress on calming herself until Tau decided to use what Ashe would from now on call 'the C word'. On top of that she even went as far as giving her a compliment! As if she weren't having enough trouble keeping up her composure. 'Am I really this easy to shake up? What the Hell is wrong with me?'
Loneliness, though. That seemed a reasonable enough explanation to be so dreadfully nice. It was a lot less sinister than some dark ulterior motive. Then again, how sure could Ashe be of that? Some part of her just couldn't believe that this person was being nice to her merely because she wanted a friend. But then, if she truly were being nice, not using any sort of technique to charm her.. Why was she reacting like this? Blushing, being far too excited.. What the Hell was up? "It's Ashe not that word!" She protested loudly, shaking her head.
'I've never in my life received so many compliments that were so.. Sincere! Why? What's her game? Does she even have a game or am I just paranoid?!' Ashe thought to herself, essentially flopping down right after Tau had left the room. The only acknowledgement given then was a nod in response to the statement about the incense. This was her moment to relax, gather her thoughts. Laying flat on her back, she took a well deserved slow, deep breath and shut her eyes. And as much as she hated to admit it, she might actually fall asleep laying there. No soft voices or compliments to keep her on her toes. She could just let her defenses down and relax. Maybe even sleep. If she could quit convincing herself she would wake up in some situation she wouldn't want to be in, of course.
A rather cute girl.... Indeed she was! The book in front of her bored her so much... She placed the book down and went to go check on the little elemi... Stepping quietly to do door, she cracked her eye in to see Ashe sleeping on the floor... Tau would lightly shake her head with a warm chuckle, "Such a cute little thing... Ashe is her name, hmm? I better get her back in bed..." saying softly to herself as she walked into the room quietly. Tau was going to be very careful and gentle about this... She'd attempt to lightly pick up Ashe and put her under the blanket. Tucking her in as quietly as possible, she sat on the edge of the bed for a moment to watch her sleep... Tau felt rather honored to have someone sleep here for once... It was a big sigh of relief for her... She would lightly stand up and walk out to close the door behind her, keeping the candles in there lit for her.
This food was going to take awhile... So perhaps maybe she should return to the pod and explore it a bit. Putting on some shoes, she'd lightly leave the house for a moment and fly off to the crash site where Ashe arrived at. It took not too long but once landed, she would see all the computers and such turn off... Tau was amazed by this thing! She's never been around technology to understand it. Stepping inside her pod, she could see all these books and papers and all this odd stuff that confused Tau a bit.. 'I wonder if all this is really important to her... I'd hate for the storm coming to ruin her stuff...' Tau would begin collecting her books and such and could gather what she can for her first run and fly back home! Luckily as stated it wasn't long but there was more to grab back at the pod! She'd place the books and papers she could grab on the table and then proceed to go back out with a bag this time to gather all she could...
Eventually, Tau did grab all her books and papers just in time as the storm went hard around the area. She frowned a little bit to forget her weapon outside but she was too focused on making sure Ashe's stuff was safely inside and not wet. Tau wouldn't bother to read the title of her books because it was all probably stuff she either wouldn't understand or it's in her native language that Tau wasn't familiar with. Still, she'd walk over to the door and lightly crack it open... Asleep... She was still asleep.. A sigh of relief was heard under her breath as she opened the door... She needed to make sure she had all her belongings close to her. It was honestly a great way for Tau to gain her trust after all was to do this all for her... Tau would begin transporting all her books and papers to her room and intended on doing this very, very quietly... Across the side of her bed was a bit study table so it was more convenient for her! She did look like a brainy after all!
Back and forth, she brought together all her books and papers until they were all stacked properly on there. This girl had a lot of stuff... Ah well! She walked quietly past Ashe and lightly closed the door behind her. "Wooo...... That was close... I was afraid of waking her up..." she said to herself as she returned to her kitchen to finish the broil... She would pull the meat out and get the sides together, making a couple nice dishes for herself and Ashe when she was ready... Of course, she wouldn't be out for awhile so she simply put the food aside for now... She would however begin to eat her own food and chow away at it! Tau, being a saiyan, was a quick eater! Once she finished her meal, she let off a quiet burp and wiped her mouth in satisfaction. The hybrid would think of an interesting idea however... 'Why don't I bake her something yummy to have for dessert? Ooooo! That's a great idea! A welcoming gift!' she thought to herself as she began prepping her dish!
An hour passes....
The hybrid finishes her cinnamon bun... It took a lot of work but she learned how to make things faster with her ki. Lightly bringing her dessert in front of her, she'd place it down with her dish and began writing her a note to attach to her goodies...
'Hi Ashe! I thought this wonderful meal and dessert would make you feel at home! I'm sorry it may seem cold but if you want me to warm it up, please tell me so! I'm always happy to help! If you're okay with this meal the way it is then I sincerely hope you enjoy! Also... If you haven't noticed... I've brought all your books and papers inside across your bed. A wicked storm is brewing outside right now... I figured it was best to get your stuff in before it all got ruined. I forgot my weapon outside near your pod but it's okay! It's just metal anyways. (A smiley face was drawn here) If you need anything come on out! I'll probably be cleaning or reading a book! -Tau.'
The letter was made! She'd smile softly and bring her meal and dessert in with the note in her mouth... She'd quietly open the door and walk in to place her meal and dessert on the table next to her... A note being laid next to them. She would quietly tip-toe her way back out and close the door gently behind her. Sweet satisfaction! Tau felt so good being a good person~. She'd walk over and sit down on her recliner and grab one of her dad's old books... "The Tale of.... The Monkey Hero..? Huh..." she'd flip the book open and began to read! WC: 1,018 WCT: 5,345
Ashe woke up feeling fuzzy and lightheaded, and not in a good or fun way. She stretched her arms over her head, and then from side to side. It was a decent sleep, for sure, but with a minor interruption she had, the waking up part was definitely the worst part. She balled her hands into fists and rubbed her eyes, grumbling quietly. And when she pulled her hands away she looked to see the dessert and the note that Tau had left for her. She then looked to her side, remembering that Tau had brought her stuff in right before a storm hit. She felt.. Terrible, honestly. A sad expression crossing over her face as she looked to the note, and then brought it to her face for her to read more in detail. This stranger had really done all that for her? Someone who had been quite rude to her? Protesting, whining, even a little snark in there.. Suffice to say, she felt like she had done a great deal of wrong by this person. Ashe carefully folded the note and put it aside, then weaved her fingers together and rested her then balled up hands on her lap. Staring ahead at the wall, descending into deep thought. The elemi couldn't even force herself to distrust Tau, at that point. Hell, Tau was doing her more than a few favors. Favors she had repaid inadequately with her horrid attitude.
She let out a deep, almost depressed sounding sigh through her nose and then stood from bed. Hadn't she been on the floor before? Sweet Kai's, this woman was gonna kill her with kindness. She held her gut, detesting the knot of emotions that bundled up in her stomach. Ashe carefully lifted the plate on which her dessert and meal sat and then proceeded to leave the room. She would have much preferred to stay in that room reading and being alone under normal circumstances. But these weren't normal. She was going to.. make an attempt, in a manner of speaking. She would likely be super awkward about it and earn more compliments that would make her composure come entirely undone, but.. If Tau enjoyed putting her through such wonderful torture, who was she to complain? It was the least she could do to even begin repaying her kindnesses. And if it hadn't been for the simplicity of the houses' design and her own natural vision in even the darkest places, she would have been very easily lost. But even if she had been lost, Tau might easily hear the shuffling of those bare little feet as they would approach.
Hesitantly, Ashe approached the woman as she read. She kept her gaze focused.. It was so hard not to be intimidated by her. Even now, just the thought of her voice and her smile made her want to hide, as to avoid being reduced to the likeness of a nervous virgin schoolgirl. "Excuse me, miss Tau? I, um.. Sorry to disturb your reading." She paused, pursing her lips and scratching at her neck nervously. "Thank you for being kind.. I'm sorry for the way I've been acting. I just.. I usually dislike people. But I find that I have a very hard time disliking you." She then spoke again, her mouth feeling as if it were on autopilot trying to portray the sincerity of her words. Red filled her cheeks and her eyes kept shifting, trying so hard to avoid contact, except Ashe knew she would need to at least try to maintain it if she really wanted to at least seem apologetic.. Damn those perfect eyes.
[Damn you Ezra/Calla for reminding me of the scene from this game.]
Tau had a lot of things on her mind while reading this book... It kinda... Reminded her of her own goals actually just reading the book to herself. There was certainly a lot of things she had to think about. Seeing a completely new person today has certainly sparked some interests in possibly expanding herself very soon... Eyes would glide through the pages as she kept multitasking her thoughts. It was so sad honestly now that she thought about it... Was she... really that alone? To have these sudden thoughts of wanting to go explore the world and possibly the universe..? Her heart cracked as the depression started to kick in. The Hybrid sniffled her nose a bit to try and contest her feelings.
For years, the hybrid has been waiting so long for her father. It was after all he promised his return... Depression would flow her mind once more as she began shaking. Why was this always such an occurring moment for her..? She finally had someone here with her! Someone who would give her the company she fully desired. In truth of it all, Tau felt like she was... unwanted. Ashe's actions and all honestly were very hurtful deep down... In a sense, Tau was like a bull in this situation. At first, the bull felt no pain but it all came at it at once towards the end.... Ashe didn't fucking care... Ashe was clearly disgusted by her trying to help! Tau's mind began to fill with pessimistic thoughts. Hated. Disgusted. Abandoned... Worthless..... The words got worse and worse. Flashes of her father would push through her visions. The hybrid gripped her book lightly as began emitting silent tears.
She was acting so pathetic in her mind. To think she'd act so kind and sweet towards her guest after so long! She... She needed to stop this kindness... Her father ruined it the day he left her. She quickly shook her head, 'N-No...! I won't... be so hateful! Not like him!' her eyes would slam tight as she tried to boot all that negativity out of her head. The feeling of all this was immense and powerful. She would lightly return to her normal self... Sighing in relief... The little elemi needed a chance... Everyone deserves a chance! And if she blows that chance.... Just try again! Sometimes being nice will work! It always works! Being aggressive is not the way! Her eyes felt heavy after all that thought. She would pull herself up against the recliner and set the book aside... "I.... really do have depression... Don't I..?" she spoke to herself out loud. So the gentle hybrid emits her biggest flaw after all? She pulled her back backwards and looked up to the ceiling with a frown. "I never had these issues... Not until he left..." she brought her hand to her face, rubbing it with frustration and dissatisfaction with herself. "Mother left him... Father leaves me... Light... I wish I knew how to cut down this agony... It's so unbearable at times..." her feelings sliced.
[Stop the music here]
However, her eyes went wide after feeling Ashe's presence coming. 'Crud... I better straighten up..' The Hybrid would throw all her depression to the side and clear her throat, bringing herself back to normal for now... She just needs another chance... Don't pull up that depression... As she had her book back open to pretend she was reading, Ashe came beside her. Her tone sounded rather... different? Tau's face wasn't in sight yet but if Ashe could see it... Tau was surprised immensely by her tone. Apologizing for interrupting her? A thank you for being so kind to her? More apologies!? The hybrid wanted to cry... This was the Light's work wasn't it..? Sometimes giving someone a chance really does pay off! Tau would close her book and turn her head to show off that beautiful smile Ashe knew! "You're such a little sweetheart... You don't need to apologize to me... Nor do you need to thank me~! It's honestly my pleasure to help you out.. Also... How was your food, love?" she didn't even realize it but she had her food in hand and stuff... She didn't even eat yet. Tau would push the leg up from the recliner down and walk over, walking over to charge her hands up.. "Lemme warm those up for you..." and with that she'd form a perimeter over the dishes and shot off some nice heat against them! Some warm tasty food now! "Come, love... Why don't we sit down and talk? You look hungry now!" she smiled as she slowly went ahead of her to guide her to the dinner table in the kitchen. As the two would make their way over, Ashe would notice the strange markings on Tau's back... Clearly someone did that to her... But just what was it? Tau would lightly pull up a chair for Ashe, giggling.. "The Light Maiden reserves you a fine throne!" she giggled towards Ashe.. It was all jokes and teases but once Ashe sat down, she'd push her in... Now the Maiden would sit across from her.. "Do you need anything right now, love? Perhaps a napkin?" she offered her.
All the compliments and kind words, even still.. She had been cruel and rude, how could this woman continue to be so nice to her? Ashe had never experienced it. Even from her own family. She kept going on and on about it in her head, but that was all in some desperate attempt to rationalize her thoughts and feelings. Maybe get a hold of herself? "You're still so sweet to me.. I still don't understand." Ashe spoke her thoughts aloud, shaking her head. That smile, that voice.. Dammit. There she was again, fixated on those two things. When Tau wished to heat her meal, she was not one to object. She held the plate out and allowed her to do as such, rather impressed with her technique, truth be told. Was she really a Light Elemi? Heating things up like that?
The probability of it, though.. It seemed unlikely. She was blonde and blue-eyed after all, and she sure as Hell didn't have the temperament she was used to seeing in fire Elemi. No sign of any fire, either.. Just what had she done? Had she somehow turned up the friction in her hands? Lost in thoughts as she usually ended up, her brain went into autopilot just briefly.. Only until a chair was pulled for her. She had clearly followed Tau. And while she had no answer to her previous question, she sat, then now puzzled by the girl's title. "Maiden of Light, huh? So you're an Elemi, then.. At least a little bit." She inquired, her mind coming up with all sorts of reasons she would have such a title. Maiden.. Light.. She was and was of these things. Could the answer be so simple though? Clearly this girl was powerful and experienced with weaponry. Maybe she had done something great to earn the title and wasn't an Elemi at all? In this instance, she chose to over complicate it. It didn't stress her out or anything, she simply enjoyed the mental stimulation that came with running through all the scenarios. Letting her intellect and her imagination run wild trying to solve it on her own.
She was again roused from her thoughts when Tau asked if she would like a napkin.. Or something to that effect. She hadn't really caught the whole thing. Ashe did her best to offer a friendly smile, but came up short on something more like a neutral and yet still interested expression. When she spoke, she was calm, clear, almost cold. Though an effort was indeed made to have some form of warmth. Warmth.. Warmth! It finally hit her. She finally knew part of what she was feeling this whole time. Her eyes slowly widened as it struck home. Like a scientist that had made a great discovery. Tau's offer fell on deaf ears for now as it all came together. The smile, the soft voice, the meal in front of her. She stared at this meal. It was the warmth radiating from it that made her realize it. "Warm.." She muttered aloud, and then blinked. Once, and then twice. Her gaze went back up to Tau. "Ah, yes, uh.. I suppose it would be proper." She answered awkwardly, a bit of pink filling her pale cheeks due to her own embarrassment.
Had she finally cracked the code? With this new knowledge she felt for sure was accurate, could she better control her reactions? She supposed there was but one way to find that out.
Before the whole napkin instance... Ashenya would ask the million dollar question if Tau was an Elemi. Welllllll~, not really ask but assume. Her assumption was correct! She'd nod lightly with a big happy smile now back on her face! Her mood wasn't so dark now that Ashe came forward and started treating her better! "Mhmm~! I'm technically a half-Elemi. My daddy is an Elemi but my mother was a saiyan! Kind of a loooong story how they ended up with a mixed child but long story short... My mother left us when I was a year old... Daddy hadn't been happy since... When I eventually turned twenty, he left me in search of my mother. As guests began to realize my father left... They stopped coming. I was beginning to become lonesome and by that point... I was so desperate for someone to come... I tried inviting my old trainers to come by! None would show... A sad... life... But now I finally have someone to spoil!" she said with a soft giggle.
That was a lot to explain and it would definitely explain why she's so compassionate on pleasing Ashe! However, before Ashe would get ideas... "Haha... Also this doesn't make you a special case.. I've always been this generous to everyone... It's just... so nice to finally have someone here... If I seem to be pushing my hospitality on you... Please let me know..." she told Ashenya. She didn't want to scare off Ashenya with her kindness being too powerful. She'd then get up off her chair and begin to search for a napkin! Now... Where did she put those napkins..? She hadn't to use a napkin in so long because she really just used her arm to wipe. A little uncivilized but no one would know her secrets! She would pull open draws, "Nope... Not that one..." she would continue to search around until... She pulled open a drawer and found them! They were all neatly piled up as she took a pink one out and closed the drawer afterwards. The young hybrid would walk over to the small elemi and hand it off to her! "Here you are, love! Sorry about that!" and would let off a soft giggle. Damn... That was close.
Tau would walk back over to her seat and sit down, watching her possibly begin to eat. Admitting to say but... Tau was actually relieved now that things are a bit calmer with her sanity. Things didn't look too good at first but when Ashe would finally come out and completely apologize for all this.. It became a rather nicer setting now. For so long the hybrid was struggling with the troubles it brought her. Being alone can drive one mad after all! However, now that Ashe was here and seemed a bit more nicer with her, now things would go on track!
Tau would lightly begin having thoughts now... Thoughts about asking Ashenya some questions about herself! She felt like she had some right to ask after all. She was in her home! The young hybrid would lean forward slowly and giggle, "So cutie... May I ask you if it's not so much trouble but where you're from? I'm very curious about where you're from! You came space after all and also... How you know what Elemis are... I assume you have to be one yourself!" Tau clearly wanting to know more about Ashe. She would wiggle herself closer to Ashe but sliding her seat closer, "Don't be shy or scared to tell me either! I'm not gonna say anything! Promise!"
A depressing story to then be followed by having her bubble burst. That was a lot to take in. The Elemi didn't make any sort of vocal response as the napkin was placed close to her, in such a way she could easily reach for it if she wished. But right now she was in a different place, zoned out staring blankly at her food. Once in a short while her nose might've twitched of her eyes might've widened, but aside from that, she was.. cold. That's what that was, wasn't it? Her warmth that she felt replaced with a bitter cold. So she wasn't special, after all? Just another guest, on top of some cheap industrial adhesive used to fill a hole, if only temporarily. She felt like she had been built up, just to get knocked back down. None of this was because she came out as some grand, top tier candidate for s friend.. No, she was just the only candidate. The only one to have shown up in the last five years. Like being a winner but coming in last place.
She regained her senses, if only for a brief moment.. Maybe that wasn't the right way to put it. It was more as if only a choice selection of Tau's words seemed to poke their way through to her. An apology, it sounded like. Likely for the napkin, or some other silly thing that didn't require such, but Ashe's brain chose to take it another direction. 'As if you actually are.. This is all just because you can't handle being alone.' She furrowed her brow as she thought this to herself. Hushed whispers, entering like little pinpricks through one of her ears. One of the product of a few decades worth of isolation as compared to a half of one, combined with that of a low self-esteem, instilling feelings of hopelessness and irrational anger in her. But as her thoughts drifted towards this irrationality, she took up her fork and dug into her food. Allowing herself one big bite that she could chew on for awhile. Some sort of physical task she could exert her anger out onto without hurting anybody, with the added benefit of the sound of her own chewing reverberating through her skull to somewhat muffle the voices whispering to her.
She raised a free hand to close her palm around her ear, clutching her own hair and then clenching her eyes shut. She was one to talk of not being able to handle loneliness when she herself couldn't handle the rising feelings of jealousy in her chest. And as these feelings rose, so did the hurriedness and the volume of the whispers she was hearing. Giving birth to strong feelings of panic and fear. Ashe almost felt as if she were being attacked. Though just as the whispers reached their peak, and the panic within her chest nearly exploded, it all seemed to stop. The girl opened her eyes to see Tau smiling back at her and that seemed to just.. end it. Relief washed through her, making for a visibly noticeable change in how tense she had been. The girl still felt cold inside, and the lingering soreness from the jealousy and disappointment she felt still caused her some level of distress, but at least she wasn't about to snap.
Being called cutie.. The effect didn't feel so intense anymore. Half of Ashe still believed that Tau was doing it all so that she wouldn't be alone. Could Ashe fault someone not wanting to be alone? No, not at all.. But to be used like some tool to fill the holes, it was a feeling she still hated. Still, she could play along. All she had to do was stick around and play nice until someone undoubtedly better than her would come along and take her spot. "I'm from Matteria. I'm a darkness Elemi acting as an ambassador for Tenebrae. Meant to make friends with Saiyans, just as other kingdoms are inevitably doing." She responded, straightforward and to the point. Still just slowly picking away at her food.
Ashenya was... very straight about this. Her sudden mood change really made Tau a bit confused. Was it something she said...? Tau gave her for once a confused and odd look. 'W-Why does she seem different..? She was just being a sweetheart to me...' Tau's heart began to crackle a bit. Tau felt rather slapped in her emotions as Ashe's body language showed that something was wrong. Tau would need to possibly cooldown from this... Her feelings twisted in a bunch. She lightly stood up and sighed, "Please excuse me, love... I've gotta grab something real quick..." afterwards Tau would leave and walk into her room, gently closing the door behind her. It was that point Tau would stand at her door and slide her back down until she sat on the ground.
It was coming again... The depression, the agony, the pain, the abandonment... Tau gripped her fists tightly. 'What did I do wrong?! I really don't get why she's like that! She barely says anything to me and for her mood to suddenly shift just agonizes me!' She bit her teeth down, her eyes flickering yellow despite them originally being blue... 'D-Damn... all...' her mind attempting to throw water at itself to cool down! Her fists would grip tighter and tighter... If things wouldn't cease soon... 'No... Stop it... She's clearly just upset things aren't going well for her... Perhaps... it's all just stress...' her eyes would go towards being blue again... A light sigh of relief would escape Tau's lips. Yeah... Everything was gonna be okay. It's fine... Really. Tau would slowly stand up and brush herself off and open the door. She would wipe a smile on and step out to the kitchen, perhaps noticing Ashe was done! A loud eep of excitement could be heard! "Ooooooo! Did you like it?! How was it?! Took me a little while to get it all together but I figured you'd like it!" her smile was honest and adoring. Tau would need to express her true feelings a bit more with her.
As Tau took her plates, she would walk over to the sink. "You know, you're the first guest I've ever had that's actually liked my dishes. People always favored my father's dishes over mine but... you seem to like it a lot!" she said with a giddy tone. She would run the water over her plates. "Can I be honest with you, cutie?" she said as she turned her head towards Ashe while cleaning the plates. "I think there's something really, really special about you... You don't feel like most people I've met. Something tells me you've got a lot of heart in you... Despite being so shy and quiet! Though if anything... That's why I find you absolutely adorable!" Tau would chuckle lightly at Ashe and continue to wash the dishes. Tau absolutely hoped that by her addressing her as something a little more special she'd be more willing to be social. Of course, she really did mean that though. Tau had something in her gut telling her Ashe wasn't your average guest. Tau would finish the dishes and begin wiping her hands.. Things were still a bit quiet but Tau wouldn't give up so easily. With all that finally done, she'd come over and lightly pull a chair next to her! The blue eyes peering at her with a big smile. "So, you don't like to be social, love?" she asked in an innocent yet blunt tone. Tau was gonna make her talk now! "Well, you can be social with me! I loooooove~ to talk! Tell me more about this place your from... Also you want saiyan friends? I'll be one for you! How can I not be friends with an adorable petite cutie like yourself? Like I said... I think you're something really special too~!" she lean a bit closer now, feeling a bit good with Ashe now! Surely she can't be antsy about her being this way! Tau wanted to be her friend now!
