Bucket "Holy fucking shit I'm so hungry"
|
Personality
A creature with a good nature, yet an insatiable lust to eat is what best defines the nameless humanoid demon called Bucket. Usually friendly, willing to talk to strangers before fighting, obedient to those he deems to be good enough to obey, he does face crime and evil with extreme disdain, as well as treating criminals with nothing less than sadistic violence.
Aside from his good nature, Bucket does not shy away from his demonic nature and the curse of hunger that he was born it, a creature that can and will eat all in its way in a fruitless effort to ever be truly satisfied. Though the more violent urges of hunger can be kept at bay for most of the time, the longer he goes without an actual meal, the more erratic and unstable he grows, prone to bite down on anything he deems edible at the time.
On a deeper side, he has great sympathy for the weaker and oppressed, knowing just how bad it can get for those who cannot defend themselves. For that reason, he's able to get along with pretty much anyone who isn't evil, willing to be patient and look through any tough, defensive exterior. This sympathy for the weaker and oppressed, which extends to every sentient being makes him soft on the inside, to a point where he mainly gorges himself on simple things like leaves, fruits, trees, bushes and whatever other plant life he can find, with the occasional wild animal.
Lastly, he's not exactly the smartest being, being completely illiterate, though he still possesses rather sharp instincts, with a gut that he never distrusts.

Backstory
Bucket has no idea where or how he was born. As things go, children don't have the ability to create memories until a certain time has passed and, ever since he actually had the cognitive functions to have a memory, he was already chained to a sturdy pipe in the basement of a large Space Pirate ship, in a dark, lonely chamber where he went hungry for weeks at a time, without the ability to actually go and get something for himself to eat.
Though he never got to see the light of day for several years, being forced to live in the lonely squalor of the small amount of space that his chains allowed him to move to, the humanoid toddler eventually learned speech from the muffled conversations he heard from above.
Occasionally, he did get meals. Death or alive, they were always funny looking humanoids, sometimes green, sometimes white and purple, sometimes they looked just like him, though their head seemed a bit weirder. Like lips, as well as a monkey-like tail. They all looked red and black though, except for the purple and white guys with tails.
They had a lot of purple liquid instead of red on them whenever he met them.
He never got to ask or talk to them at all. The hunger was just too much so, whenever he got the chance, before his victims actually gathered the energy to scream or plead for mercy, his jaw unhinged itself, opening up to be able to eat a person whole, with bites that eviscerated and tore them down to size, so that he could eat everything, to be able to survive a few more weeks.
Bucket wondered who they were. They didn't seem angry or wanted to kill him, the ones who did that were the mean guys up above who, whenever they came down, liked to laugh, to kick, to blast him with bright, shiny balls and beams that hurt a lot whenever it hit.
The routine was safe enough. From time to time, he got a body to eat, failed to actually talk to them, get berated and beaten. Rinse, repeat. Rinse, repeat.
It wasn't fair, was it?
To suffer that entire time, even though the years had made him grow so large that the chains could barely fit around his bicep. He didn't want to eat people anymore, it made him sadder, the older he got.
He bit off his chains. With natural affinity to a funny-looking blue energy, he shredded through what kept him down and, in due time, shredded through the pirates.
They tasted objectively bad, though he'd still say it was his best meal.
But who was manning the ship?
No one, actually. So, of course, it crashed into the nearest planet, a lush planet full of colors that the giant demon had never seen, the Planet of Sadala.
In exploring it, he found himself to be able to eat so much more than people, resorting to eating mostly flora, with the occasional bug or wild animal. Sure, whoever sees him avoids him entirely or runs away, at which point he has to hide again because he's scared of being beaten again..
But he'll make friends eventually.
