about Jie Shan Lan Dian
"Quotes are a waste of time. Actions speak louder than words."
Jie Shan shot awake that morning, mind suddenly seizing up, his body stiff and still aching. He was awake, finally. He had always prefered being awake. He blinked once, twice. Still alive and in one piece. That medical team and Rudieri sure knew what they were doing. To come back from the attack of a Super Saiyan like this, and so quickly… Jie Shan was lucky to associate with such talented people. Now if only he could show his own talents. With a groan, he rose from his bed and touched his feet against the tacky carpet he hated so much. But there was no time to dwell on the carpet; Somebody was waiting for him.
Quickly, Jie Shan began to dress. There was no time to waste, and he was speedy as he pulled on his clothes. Shirt, pants, boots, they were all on in a flash. And finally, Jie Shan strapped on his weighted armor. It was always an interesting moment, feeling that weight come down on him. Jie Shan could feel his own power drop alongside the weight of the armor. It was truly a testament to how heavy the armor really was. Still, he was more than used to the sensation of the armor. He could move almost comfortably in it. Compared to enhanced gravity, the sensation was downright pleasant.
Jie Shan left his modest room and looked about him. The light that peered through the windows of his father’s home was pale, meaning the day was still young. Good, he thought. That meant he had not slept the day away. And it meant he had more than enough time for today’s training. Jie Shan only hoped that Nasu was awake as well. It occurred to him that he had no idea what hours the Overseer kept, but it mattered very little. He would simply go to the Soy Training Hall and wait. He, of course, had all day.
Jie Shan flew to the Soy Training Hall, flying at a leisurely pace, trying to be ginger with his already sore body. Even then, it was not a particularly long flight, as the training hall was still a part of the Soy Capitol. It was not long before Jie Shan was hovering overhead the Soy Training Hall. He closed his eyes and focused. Plenty of people moving about around it, he could feel, but nobody really inside it. Interesting. It seemed that he’d arrived first after all. Good, he thought, punctuality was a good quality for a captain to have.
Jie Shan descended and landed in front of the Soy Training Hall. He wasted no time as he entered the hall. Even now, he still found it impressive. The height of the ceiling… Truly massive. An oozaru could most definitely fit inside. An interesting thought for sure, as the Blutz Waves were in force these days. It was that time of the month, and people have to be careful. One false or careless look, and people would have a raging ape about. For Jie Shan, it mattered less as he could control his oozaru state, but still he was careful; He’d hate to destroy his room with a mistaken glance.
Jie Shan waited in the Soy Training Hall. It was different without the holographic landscape. It felt foreign and empty, like it was missing something. And, perhaps it felt empty without the staggering power of the Overseer inside it. Jie Shan sought to occupy his mind as he waited. He paced around, thinking to himself, his mind going back to what he had learned only a few short days ago.
He had, of course, learned the initial techniques of the Soy arts. The Spirit Cannon and the Flash Spirit, two respectable arts in and of themselves. Those had been the easiest lessons by far, as Jie Shan considered himself something of a natural when it came to learning martial arts and ki-based arts. The other lessons had proven a bit more challenging, at least mentally. And by the other lessons, he meant the three tenets of the Soy School, the three virtues. Jie Shan understood them well enough, he’d internalized them. Even now he could recount them: mental discipline, humility, and physical and mental endurance. Jie Shan had the first and third in spades, but the middle one, humility, had been the hardest of all of them. Jie Shan was simply a confident man, in most regards, perhaps overly so. And humility had not come easily to the halfblood. Even now, he had to remind himself of that particular tenet. While the other two came naturally, the second was something constant. Perhaps that meant it was the most important, at least to Jie Shan. Easy to learn, hard to master, he thought. But, it was worth it if he could go forward with the Soy Arts.
Now, he just needed for Nasu to show up...
Jie Shan has arrived at the Soy Training Hall!

Today was the first day of the full moon and Nasu was absolutely irritated. This event just reminded him of the humiliation he suffered at the hands of the earthling defenders, especially that weakling little shit of a sister, Cambia, who managed to chop off his mighty tail even though she was but a fly to him. Nasu sighed in anger with his memories and rushed his pace towards the Soy Training Hall, it was already time for Jie’s training. Power level wise, Komatsu had the upper hand, but Jie Shan could use that power burst and even the odds. Still, with the full moon out, Komatsu could become stronger, but uncontrolled, while he didn’t know how well could Jie Shan control his Great Ape form.
The door opened as the Overseer walked into the training Hall. Jie Shan was already there. He already knew that as he had just sensed him. His power level was suppressed due to his training armor and it was good to see he was fully committed to that training; not even during the battle against Etorin did he take it out, but Nasu found it important to make a comment about that as he walked towards the panel. – You won’t be wise to use that for the thing I have in mind for you in the next couple days. – he said, as his fingers quickly programed the environment to look like Kami’s Timeless Lookout on Earth. As he did that, he sighed in annoyance, but that was training for him too. – This place is the Timeless Lookout, the place where I lost my tail and was defeated by one of our enemies. I want you to get to know this place in case we ever need to fight them again. But mostly because this place is completely boring without the fucking holograms. – he mentioned as he walked towards the titled floor area where Jie Shan was. Then, he folded his arms. Obviously Nasu was in a very bad mood.
– Let’s cut the crap and head straight to the point. Although you are but a newbie, you are earning my trust. It’s rather hasty, but my brother pushed me to a corner. – he paused. – Komatsu is also a Captain now and he wants in to the council. Since other than the Colonels and General you both are the highest ranking officials in this excuse of a faction, I feel it’s only fair to allow you to fight for the position too. – Nasu revealed what he had in mind. – Putting it into clearer terms. We are reopening the arena, and the first battle will be for a position in the council. The only person I’m allowing to compete for that are those who rank captain and above, meaning, Jie Shan, I’m offering you an opportunity to fight my brother for a position in the council. So… What do you say? – he asked the hybrid, staring him right into his eyes.

And finally the Overseer arrived. Jie Shan could sense him before he could feel him. The man was controlling his power again, keeping it under wraps. It was still more powerful than Jie Shan was, at least without the use of his... transformation, the dull, yellow power that Jie Shan dragged out from the pit of his spirit whenever he need it. That power was not as strong as the great ape form, but somehow Jie Shan preferred it. It felt more... natural, like it was part of him, like he was born with that power, and it was something that was distinctly his. Not Saiyan, not Elemi, but his.
The Overseer strode into the hall and looked at him, commenting on the armor almost immediately. Jie Shan wouldn't need it in the coming days? What would that mean? Did the Saiyan have some sort of plan, or was he simply making a joke about the training that he had plans to put Jie Shan through. The halfblood waited for Nasu to elaborate, but he did not, at least not immediately. Instead, the man strode over to the control panel of the training hall and began to work with it. The hall began to morph in front of Jie Shan, taking color, taking shape, all of some foreign place to him. It was certainly an interesting place, and definitely from nowhere on Natto. The style of the place was not Saiyan in-nature. It looked... olden. Briefly, he wondered if it might be Elemi in origin, but it occured to him he knew not what the people of his mother's race built like. Instead, he only watched the Overseer as he walked back to him, stepping down into the relief of the floor, away from the panel.
And then the man explained. This place was a location called the 'Timeless Lookout'. So, he thought, this was where the Overseer had been defeated. At least, he told himself, it was a rather pretty place. Nothing like a view to go with a defeat. Still, Jie Shan had to wonder what the 'timeless' part of the title meant. Did time not pass there? No, he thought, that didn't make sense. Still, he'd not pursue the idea. Instead, his mind was soon overtaken by what the Overseer had just said.
He wanted Jie Shan to fight for a counselor position? And against the Overseer's own brother? An interesting prospect, and not one that he had been expecting. He somehow doubted that anyone had been expecting that, aside from the Overseer himself. Well, thought Jie Shan, it might be interesting. Often had he thought that he might be able to change the Alliance for the better if he held some sort of political power. He did approve of the idea of them being a peaceful folk, but he often felt they were just too... disorganized, ever since the death of the first Overseer. And now, Jie Shan was being presented with an opportunity. He just had to fight for it. Jie Shan dwelled on it for a moment, considering it, staring back at the man, matching his eyes to the other man's. What would his father think of that? It probably only furthered the man's plans, which made Jie Shan almost loathe to even consider excepting it.
But there was still some excited part of him. To be a Counselor... That would be a position to hold. And the fight was sure to be a good one, the reopening of the arena for what could be a historic match. Jie Shan grinned, wild and wide. Jie Shan had to admit, he was proud that he was being considered. And that he was earning the trust of the Overseer. It seemed that things were finally coming up Jie Shan.
"You know, Oveerseer," began Jie Shan, "I think that's a great idea. I would be honored to fight against your brother for a position on the council of the Alliance. I'm sure that it would be an exciting match, and that is a wonderful prospect to me. So, yes, I will accept this offer. I will fight Komatsu. And I'm sure it will be glorious."
Jie Shan continued his wide grin and offered the Overseer a small bow. When he thought that things would get exciting, he had not dreamed of this. But he would take this opportunity. Jie Shan was not the kind to sit idly by.

Jie Shan grinned wide and that was a good sign, Nasu thought, and, as soon as the hybrid captain started speaking, he just confirmed that. He liked the idea and said that such a battle would leave him honored. The battle was going to be really interesting and in regards to that Nasu had no doubts. – Yes! It will be glorious! – he said, nodding in agreement, but keeping his serious expression, almost like he was concerned. Nasu stood there in silence for a while, staring at Jie Shan before he finally spoke again. – Look. – he paused for a second. – I’m also training him under the Soy School. He has every right as my father’s son, so I can’t deny him that. Still, you are more advanced than him, so you may still have some aces under your sleeves using the style. – began Nasu. – Don’t get the wrong idea, I trust my brother and I like that he is back at the Alliance, but we disagree quite a lot, and having him in the council would be annoying. Still… - he paused to sigh. – I don’t like unfair fights, so I will train him just as committedly as I’m training you, so don’t expect an easy fight. Also… - his stare turned into a glare.
– Don’t disappoint me, Jie Shan. I want you to win against him. – he said in a rather serious tone. Nasu put a lot of will into his words and it was clear that he didn’t want Komatsu to be part of the council, but, still, he was a true warrior and had honor, he wouldn’t use any tricks or any strategy to give Jie Shan the advantage. Nasu would play fair and square, and he hoped that the hybrid captain would win with his skill and technique. ”I can’t have him in the council! This will spoil plenty of my plans!” Nasu thought, gritting his teeth. ”As things stand now, I have Miso to agree with me, Karota is always difficult to predict and Kyuri who will most likely disagree. Worst case scenario we get a tie, but I have the casting vote. With Komatsu, Karota will end deciding whenever we reach a stall, and that’s way out of my control.” he thought to himself, believing Jie Shan would favor him if needed due to, at least, gratitude. Of course he could be mistaken and Jie Shan could still prove to be an asshole and a back stabbing son of bitch, but if he happened to be like that, Nasu would find another way to deal with him.
– One more thing. Can you control yourself as a Great Ape? – he asked bluntly.

So, thought Jie Shan, the Overseer was training his brother in the Soy arts as well. It was only fair, Jie Shan knew this. And, he did not think poorly of it. In fact, it might even make for a more interesting match. Which is exactly what the halfblood wanted. Though, the halfblood was certainly pleased to hear that he was farther along than the Overseer's brother. There was a certain pride in being the most advanced of the two students the Overseer had taken, and he hoped to keep it that way. Jie Shan liked to be on top. And then he remembered: humility, he scolded himself. He had to keep to those virtues. He might be on top today, but tomorrow he could be overtaken. Not that he would let that happen peacefully.
Jie Shan raised an eyebrow as the Overseer continued. So, the Overseer did not want his brother on the council? Interesting indeed. Perhaps it was simply just a case of sibling rivalry. Jie Shan had no siblings, so he knew not on the intricacies of relations between brothers and sisters. Still, it was not Jie Shan's place to comment. If the Overseer did not want his brother on the council, that was fine by Jie Shan. But the halfblood did appreciate that he was giving his brother a chance. That was fair of the Overseer. Though, the halfblood had to wonder: did the Overseer only want Jie Shan on the council because he thought that he might be more agreeable? Though this did not sit easy with Jie Shan, he simply shrugged it off for now. Perhaps the two were simply of a mind on politics. Though Jie Shan knew there was value in dissenting opinions. He'd quickly learned that lesson when he saw the way his father led.
"Trust me, Overseer, I wish to win against him, too. Winning is always nice," smirked Jie Shan, "Though I still hope for a good fight. Winning can be boring, too, if you don't have to work for it."
And Jie Shan meant it. It was always nice to win, even over an opponent that did not hold a candle to him. Of course, these victories often came in the form of victories over Carota, and Jie shan took a certain pleasure if beating his party animal of a friend, even if it was a little boring.
The Overseer proceeded to ask Jie Shan about his ability to control a Great Ape. Jie Shan smirked. Of course he could control it. Any Saiyan worth their salt could. And Jie Shan was quite proud of his ability to control it, it was a symbol of the mastery he held over his own Saiyan nature.
"Of course, I can control it, sir," said Jie Shan, "And from my understanding, my Great Ape form is slightly more powerful than the average Saiyan's. According to my staff, this might be because of my mixed blood, though."
Jie Shan thought back to the time he had sat in Rudieri's lab, all that time he had spent with various electric doodads and monitors stucks to him. His body had ran rather uneasily with wires, but it had been a neccesary discomfort: Rudieri had needed the biological data for Jie Shan. And Jie Shan had been quite interested to learn the results. Apparently the genetic code of his body was quite... interesting. The perks of being a halfblood, he thought to himself, or so he thought. Perhaps he really was a mutant, as Rudieri theorized, but he liked to think that his mixed blood had given him some gifts instead of painting a target for the more traditional Saiyans on his back.
"And," he continued, "We might be able to see for ourselves. The Blutz waves are radiating now, Overseer. A grand time for the more... bestial among us."

Jie Shan was proving to have a Strong Will fitting of a true member of the Soy School, and Nasu liked that. He wanted to win no matter what, and now he was at least set at ease that Komatsu wouldn’t have a very easy time in his debut at the arena. ”That shall be enough in a way… Even if Komatsu win, Jie Shan may become recognized as a worthy warrior and that will also be good to me.” he thought to himself. Then, the hybrid said that he could, of course, control himself as a Great Ape, something that was really required from any member of the elite. Then, he said something quite interesting! His Great Ape form was stronger than a normal one, and that made Nasu arch one of his eyebrows, surprised by such a statement. – Really? – he asked, unsure if he believe such a claim or not. Then, Jie Shan explained that it was because of his mixed blood, and that made a hell of sense; hybrids had this crazy ability to power up, and it could also be applied to their Great Ape form in some cases.
Then, he suggested he could probably see it and that made Nasu crack a smirk with the corner of his mouth. ”Hoho… Look at that…” he thought to himself, liking Jie’s attitude.
– Very well… I want you to show me this powerful Great Ape of yours! I will open the hatch. – he said and, without wasting anytime, Nasu leaped towards the control panel, quickly pressing a switch. The hatch began to open and in no time the light of the full moon touched the titled floor. The light was filled with blutz wave radiation, capable of turning any saiyan into a Great Ape. Nasu stared at the moon and sighed in irritation. He was mad he couldn’t transform anymore, and especially mad he had no tail. But, then, he felt something tickling on his back. The saiyan arched both his eyebrows and widened his eyes, turning his head to look at his back; to his immense surprise, his tail had sprouted back! It made a hole on his blue jumpsuit and was swaying from one side to the other, almost like a newborn getting self-aware of its body. – M-my tail! It grew back! – he was so startled that he didn’t even realized he was sounding absolutely astonished with that. He couldn’t even hide his happiness as a large and proud smile appeared on his face.
– Hahahahaha! I’m whole again! Those fuckers may have chopped it off, but it’s back! My pride as a saiyan is fully restored now!! Hahahaha! – he said, laughing loud, almost forgetting Jie Shan was there to train with him.

It seemed that the OVerseer might not fully believe him. And Jie Shan did not blame Nasu. It was a grand claim, and it might easily be boasting on his part, but Jie Shan knew he was telling the truth. And that was all that mattered. And it seemed that the Overseer was ready to see for himself if Jie Shan was telling the truth. Finally, thought Jie Shan to himself, it would be good to make use of the Great Ape form again. Though Jie Shan was more fond of his dull, yellow power, that did not mean he did not like the power of the Great Ape. There was something rather... fun about growing to such a great size and wielding such destructive power. It was a great time, and Jie Shan was eager to make use of it again.
And suddenly, the tail of the Overseer grew back. Jie Shan smirked and chuckled ever so lightly. What a conveinant time for the tail to grow back, he thought, almost as if fate had seen fit to intervene. Jie Shan was glad for the Overseer. It must be rather unpleasant to lose one's tail. Jie Shan hated to imagine it happening to him. His tail was a part of him, just like his arms or legs. Losing it would be like losing an integral part of himself. And it would be like losing a part of his identity. It was one of the things that marked Jie Shan as a Saiyan. It was a symbol of one aspect of his dual heritage and he wore it with pride. To be without it... Jie Shan shuddered at the very thought.
Still, it was amusing to watch the Overseer. It was only like watching a particularly vulgar child celebrate a victory, or enjoy a newly received gift. It was like Nasu was in his own other world, oblivious to the halfblood who stood near him, the one watching him, the one he was supposed to be training. Not that Jie Shan minded. It was a joyous moment for the man. But they had business to attend too.
"Congratulations, Overseer," said Jie Shan, finally speaking aloud and trying to remind the man of his presence, "I hope you and your tail are very happy together. But, if I can interrupt, I'll transform now."
And so he did: Jie Shan turned his eyes to the sky, towards the source of the Blutz waves. His eyes were almost in a trance, gazing upward. It felt... strange, like something in the pit of his stomach was stirring. His heart beat more rapidly and his brow seemed to go wet with sweat. There was a feeling, an indecribable feeling. And then it snapped. His eyes went white, pupilless. Bubbling rage formed in his mind, and the Elemi flare-ups started. Sparks flew off his body as the bestial rage overtook him. Calm down, he told himself, it was only temporary. It would not be long before he was back in control. His face became twisted and ape-like, fangs sprouting and he seemed to form the snout of an ape. His body felt as if it were on fire as hair seemed to sprout out from every pore of his body. And Jie Shan felt himself rising as he grew. His body expanded and grew several times over, becoming hairier all the while. It was a good thing that his armor was Saiyan-make: it expanded with him.
And finally, the transformation was done. Jie shan blinked his massive, red eyes. That wasn't so bad, he thought. At least he was in control once again. He looked down at the tiny, humanoid Overseer and gave a monstrous grin. "I hope this is satisfactory, Overseer," growled Jie Shan, his voice deep and gruff, "Because this is as big as I get."
Jie Shan flexed his muscles jokingly. He was proud of this strength.
Jie Shan has gone ape! His Oozaru is a x11/x10 due to being half-Elemi. So: 203,676/185,160!

Nasu was reminded that he was in a training session when Jie Shan spoke to him, congratulating Nasu for recovering his tail. The Overseer blinked twice, realizing he was so focused on recovering his tail that he lost it for a moment. He coughed with his clenched fist in front of his mouth, closed his eyes and spoke. – Go ahead. – he limited himself to say, as Jie Shan allowed the blutz radiation to interact with his tail, triggering the mighty transformation. To be honest, he seemed like just any other Great Ape, but there were some odd sparks of lightning running through his body as he transformed, and Nasu couldn’t help but to narrow his eyes as he noticed that. ”Odd feature… Maybe that’s what he meant…” with his curiosity being teased, Nasu paid close attention to the power he was feeling inside of him. As an elite saiyan warrior, Nasu was well aware that the Great Ape transformation amplified a saiyan’s power tenfold, but Jie Shan was rising above that. Upon noticing it, Nasu arched one of his eyebrows; the Hybrid was telling the truth, he was stronger than the average Great Ape, and that was quite an impressive feat. Truth be told, it was the first time he ever saw a Great Ape that raised above the normal power.
He was now stronger than normal Nasu and that made him smirk with the corner of his mouth, feeling rather excited he could go all out in his base form for a while.
– You were right, Captain! Your Great Ape is indeed stronger! So… I will be going all out in my base form! Hehe! – he informed him and, then, Nasu’s power level rose to its peak, reaching his full base capacity, flaring his ghostly-white ki aura around his body in the blink of an eye.
[Ki Suppression Off. Current PL: 158,525]
Once he powered back up, his flared aura immediately turned light blue as he crouched a lot, almost like he was trying to gather impulse, and that was exactly what he was doing. He chuckled a bit and stared at Jie’s snout and crimson eyes. – The third technique of the Soy School! Rebellion Spear!!! – he exclaimed. Then, like a rocket, he launched himself with all his impulse, heading straight towards Jie Shan. The Blue aura acted as both a shield and as a spear, as it used Nasu’s strength to become a ki technique using the body of the user. It was a technique that could be useful for charging against a single opponent, or even freeing one’s self from loads of enemies trying to tag team on the user. On this particular case, Nasu was using it to attack Jie’s jaw using his body. – Feel it, Captain! The Soy School’s power!!! – he finished by saying that.

The Overseer finally saw what Jie Shan had meant. And it was nice to have confirmation that he had not just been blowing hot air or bragging. Jie Shan was almost proud, in a strange way. He had a more powerful version of something the average Saiyan did not. And while it was not due to any effort on Jie Shan's part, there was a certain pride in it. He was unique. Jie Shan looked down at the Overseer and gave a bestial grin, showing the sharp, ape-like teeth that now graced his mouth. Perfect, he thought, for dealing damage. The Great Ape form was a natural weapon, and it turned the average Saiyan into a killing machine. Not that Jie Shan approved of such matters, but he was not ignorant of the darker history behind the form. The Empire had used it for planet extermination. It probably still did. Jie Shan had never been forced into such an act, but his giant, monkey heart went out to those who had been. Luckily, the Alliance had no need for such things. Or at least that is what he had been taught.
Jie Shan watched the Overseer, curiously. He had half-expected the Overseer to make use of his own Great Ape form, seeing as how his tail had just grown back, but the man did not transform. Instead, he simply let his power slip and cast off the suppression he had been using. And finally, Jie Shan understood. Nasu intended to fight in his base form. And Jie Shan was quite alright with this. The two of them were finally competitive. If not for his weighted armor, Jie Shan would even be stronger than the Overseer in his base form. But now? They were almost on the same tier.
And the Overseer wasted no time in showing Jie Shan his power. And he moved right into the next art of the Soy School: the Rebellion Spear. Nasu's aura flared blue with power and he rushed Jie Shan, aiming straight for his ape-jaw. Interesting, thought Jie Shan as he observed the technique, he would have to try it here soon. But right now, he had more important matters to attend to. Namely, the Saiyan charging him with a powerful attack. But the Saiyan was fast, and Jie Shan was not quite ready for the blow. The man made contact, and Jie Shan could feel pain radiate through his jaw. A powerful attack to be sure, thought Jie Shan, he had best hurry up and master it. Already, he was formulating the technique in his head, turning it and tossing it, make sure he understood it completely. And he intended to take his time. He wanted to get the move just right, perfect even. And besides, he wanted to have some fun with the Overseer. It was not every day that Jie Shan got to use his Great Ape form. No, he intended to enjoy it while he could. And besides, he thought it might be more interesting that way.
"Interesting move, Overseer. and I certainly feel the power of the Soy School," roared the apeish Jie Shan, "And I hope I can master it before long! But I want to have some fun before I try! Can you provide that for me, Overseer? I certainly hope so!"
Jie Shan raised one of his giant hands. His burning red eyes looked about for the Overseer, his vision still rocking from the blow, and Jie Shan managed to spot him. Jie Shan swang his furred hand through the air, intending to swat the Overseer like he was some kind of fly, into the ground.

Nasu’s Rebellion Spear hit right on the mark, sending the Great Ape’s head backwards with the impact. Still, the damage wasn’t enough to finish the fight, obviously, and Jie Shan was in an almost perfect shape. ”Hope you paid attention to that, Jie!” Nasu thought to himself as he float backwards a bit, to put some distant in between his tiny body and those sharp fangs of the over the top Great Ape. Jie Shan liked the move and said he could feel the power of the Soy School in it and Nasu chuckled in response. – Of course! This is a technique useful both when fighting in single combat, as well as when you are surrounded by enemies. It’s a versatile technique that can save your life one day! You will do well in learning it! – he said, responding to the hybrid’s first sentence.
After that, the Great Ape said he wished to master it soon, but also wanted to have fun, since, well… They were sort of even. Nasu chuckled a bit. – Look who is getting conceited just because his power rose above mine. But don’t you forget, Jie Shan, a battle isn’t determined by power level alone! Skill plays a major role in it! And I’m far more skilled than you and I’m willing to show you that! Watch me and learn, Captain! – Nasu said, with a bit of teasing in it. Then, Jie Shan attacked, trying to swat him like a fly with his huge hands. Nasu moved quickly with his ghostly-white ki aura around his body and did a barrel roll, circling around his hand swiftly and completely avoiding his attack. Then, rose far above Jie Shan, almost hitting the roof of the Training hall.
– Fast, but too clumsy! Won’t be able to hit me like that! – he said, chuckling in a rather cocky way. Then, Nasu dashed down again, clenching both his fists by his torso and, then, put them in front of his body, using them to double-punch the top of the Ape’s head with both fists and using all the impulse of his body. Nasu’s movements were perfect and they didn’t waste a single movement, showing the perfection of a martial arts master, something Jie Shan was only beginning to understand!

The Overseer continued to enthuse about his technique, citing its power and versatility. And Jie Shan certainly understood the use of it; Everything in the Soy School was useful in one way or another, and that is partially why Jie Shan was so keen on learning the secrets of it all. He liked useful things, efficient things, and while he did not find the useless or frivolous things, he did not want them in his fighting style. Instead, he wanted power, raw, efficient power, the kind that people wielded when they meant business. And the Soy School's Rebellion Spear was just one example of the kind of technique he appreciated. He wanted to learn it. Perhaps it was time that he showed Nasu he had been paying attention, even if his body was a bit unwieldy at the moment.
And then the Overseer spoke out against Jie Shan. Conceited? Jie Shan hardly thought so. But then again, his mind was clouded by the power of the Great Ape. Jie Shan knew that battles were tests of skill and not raw power, especially when two fighters were close in strength like this, but damn, sometimes he had to flex his strength a little. But the Overseer had other plans. He dodged Jie Shan's swipe, flying high above it. The Overseer even called him clumsy. Jie Shan growled. The Oozaru was not a graceful state, but Jie Shan was anything but clumsy. He was going to protest, but then he remembered one of the virtues of the Soy School: humility. Calm down, he told himself, getting upset was not going to do anything in the long run but wound his pride. Instead, he reminded himself that he was here to learn. The best was to shut Nasu up was to show him that he was learning.
And Nasu was going to drive his lesson home, using his fists. The martial arts master rushed him with both fists and jackhammered his head. The pain wracked his head, but the halfblood Great Ape held steady. He growled again and was half tempted to swipe for Nasu again, but he reminded himself: he was here to learn.
"Alright, Overseer," he boomed, "I've figured out how I'm going to have my fun: by mastering your techniques and showing you just how well I can use them myself! I hope you are ready, because I sure am! There's going to be fifty feet of ape headed your way in a second!"
Jie Shan squatted, putting himself in a crouching pose. Power began to course through him, and soon the ki worked its way outward. His aura shifted from its usual stormy grey to a brilliant blue, like the shade that Nasu's had taken. Yes, he told himself, this was it. He could feel the attack rising to its breaking point! His knees trembled with anticipation. He was going to show Nasu just how much power he had!
Jie Shan suddenly launched forward, propelling himself in spear-like fashion towards the man. He was sure it was an amusing sight, a giant ape rushing towards a small humanoid figure. But on the giving end of it, Jie Shan was serious about mastering the Rebellion Spear.

Nasu’s jackhammer worked perfectly and gave the young Overseer a joyful sensation of damaging – although slightly – a considerably stronger opponent. As soon as he finished his attack, Nasu rolled back in the air, putting some distance between him and the monstrous Great Ape on steroids that Jie Shan had become. It still impressed him how strong that Great Ape was and, perhaps, he would be able to become some sort of weird super saiyan too, like Athren did? That was both exciting and concerning. ”Will he become stronger than me?! Well… That’s something to be concerned. I will have to keep focusing on my training and can’t allow myself to slack off. Luckily, Karota is about to arrive and start training me into perfecting myself as a martial artist. With the power of the Wolf School tied to the power of the Soy School, there will be but few opponents who can hope to stay toe to toe with me in battle, regardless of raw power or crazy transformations!” he thought to himself, making a brief nod as he reassured to himself the fact that he was doing the best he could in order to become stronger and more skilled.
Jie Shan said that he would be using the Soy Techniques and would have fun by doing that, and warned Nasu to get ready, because he was going to attack right now. The tiny Overseer nodded, and fell back into the traditional Soy School fighting stance, staring the Great Ape right into his crimson eyes. And there it came! The light-blue aura was flared around his body, showing just how easily he had mastered the Rebellion Spear energy coat. That made Nasu grunt a bit. ”He is making it seems so easy… Annoying… And exciting at the same time!” he thought to himself, trying to prepare for his attack. After that, the monstrous Ape launched himself towards Nasu, fully mastering the technique. The young Overseer had to act quickly, because if he was fully hit by that attack, he would be seriously damaged!
Nasu concentrated his inner power and, as Jie Shan closed in, he released a powerful burst of yellow-colored ki energy around his body, in the form of an Explosive Wave. – Super Explosive Wave!! – he roared. His wave hit Jie’s charge, but the Great Ape’s charge was stronger and pierced right through the wave, although losing plenty of its power in the way. Still, that massive body hit Nasu, making him scream in pain. – AARRRGGHH!! – The tiny untransformed body of the Overseeer was sent flying, sailing through the air adrift, until his back hit one of the walls of the Training Hall, making him scream again and spit some blood.
Jie Shan had done it! He had made Nasu spit some blood. The saiyan quickly recovered, putting some distance between himself and the wall. With the back of his white glove, he wiped the blood streaming down his mouth and stared at his opponent with a serious look on his face. – Congratulations. Not only you mastered the attack, but you made me bleed! You are exceeding my expectations! But how about I give you a proper challenge now? – he said, cracking a mischievous grin. By now, Jie Shan knew well enough that, although celebrating every accomplish his student had, Nasu was prideful and hated to be injured or be on the losing side. He had enough humility, as a saiyan ruler, to allow himself to be damaged and hit, so no one could say he didn’t hold that virtue in high esteem, but, he was still a saiyan.

Jie Shan grinned with his monstrous mouth. He'd not only succeeded in his attack, but he had sent the Overseer flying away like he was a tiny bug, caught up in the storm that was Jie Shan's attack. It was music to his ears as the Overseer flew through the air and crashed into one of the walls of the Soy training hall. Jie Shan quite liked this attack. It even managed to best Nasu's Explosive Wave, the same technique that had left Jie Shan so injured during their gravity training. How was that for power, he asked himself with a grin.
The Overseer spoke. Jie Shan had made him bleed? Good, he thought. Any pain that he was able to inflict was a good thing. It meant that he might actually be making progress in this kind of fight. And finally, the Overseer said that he wanted to give the halfblood a real challenge. Jie Shan tried to smirk with his bestial appearance. A challenge?
"I think that sounds great, Overseer," growled ape Jie Shan, "If you're never challenged, you'll never grow. What did you have in mind?"
Jie Shan had expectations as far as that went. He half-expected the man to answer with one of two things: the Super Saiyan transformation, or his own Great Ape transformation. Whatever, thought Jie Shan. He would be ready for whatever the Overseer had for him. Though his defeat was almost guaranteed if the Overseer had deigned to use a transformation, Jie Shan cared little. He had went into this knowing that victory was far from likely. No, he was here for the challenge. The learning. The two of those had drawn him in, and he wanted to make the most of them. Given time, he might be able to best the Overseer, but for now, he was simply looking forward to learning. Humility, he reminded himself.
Oops. Fixed the stamina. Now my stamina is at 2/3!

Nasu’s grin widened when Jie Shan asked him what he had in mind. Nasu walked towards the control panel and grabbed himself a set of weighted battle suit. Quickly, he took off his own battle suit and put the weighted one on. Immediately his power level dropped to a fourth of his regular one.
[Using Weights as Flavor. Current PL: 39,631]
– I believe that’s pretty much the same your battle suit weights, right? Well then… Now that we are at a more fair game… Huhuhu… - he paused, chuckling a bit as he, in a slow motion, stared at the full moon from which the light shined through the open hatch. Once he did that, his tail stretched and the fur on it bristled a lot. The Blutz waves radiation was acting on the glandules responsible for liberating the transforming hormones and, once it gathered enough radiation, it started. Nasu’s pitch black irises turned crimson red, and he began to grow at a fast pace. His body got covered in brown fur, his face slowly changed to a snout with sharp fangs and his eyes became completely red. The battle suit stretched with him. Nasu reached fifty feet in height, almost the same as Jie’s own Ape and, although the power increase wasn’t as much as the hybrid’s got, he was still stronger. Nasu’s Ape form had a distinguishing cross-shaped scar on his left cheek, but, other than that, looked like your average ape.
[Great Ape Transformation. Current PL: 396,313]
– SO… LET’S HAVE SOME FUN, CAPTAIN! HAHAHAHAAH! – his voice become much deeper and ferocious, despite the fact that Nasu held full control of his Great Ape form. In fact, the Overseer seemed overjoyed, as he finally recovered his tail. The Great Ape form was no longer useful to Nasu, since he had become a super saiyan, but he wanted to celebrate, especially since the holographic environment was made so it resembled the Lookout, the place where he had been crippled before. ”It’s good to be whole again!” he thought to himself, as he felt that huge power flowing inside of him.

Jie Shan watched with curiosity as the Overseer made his way over to a store of battle suits. Without wasting any time, Nasu had stripped from his and was changing into another. What in the world, thought Jie Shan, watching the man with some confusion, but it was not long before it made sense. It finally clicked together as Jie Shan felt the Overseer's power drop. He switched to weighted armor, thought Jie Shan to himself. But why? It occurred to Jie Shan that it must be a power limiter, a handicap. So, thought Jie Shan, the man had some purpose for it all, but what? Perhaps he did intend to transform after all.
And it was not long before the transformation took place. The Overseer was soon overcome by Blutz Waves and Jie Shan watched as he grew into a monster before his very eyes. The two great apes were almost of a height, though perhaps the Overseer was slightly taller. Jie Shan grunted. So, this was the Overseer's challenge for him. A great ape. Well, he thought, it's certainly no Super Saiyan, but the man was still very strong. The Great Ape was not a form to be trifled with.
Jie Shan's giant heart beat madly. He was excited. Finally, some real fighting. "Fun?" Roared Jie Shan, "Why, it seems you and I are finally speaking the same language, Overseer! Yes, let's have some fun!
And with that, Jie Shan let loose a mighty roar, one that shook his own body to the core. It was bestial and savage, but in that moment it felt like the right thing to do. It felt like the natural thing to do. His Saiyan genes were seizing control of his instincts, and he was better off for it. It was time for him to let loose.
Jie Shan stared at the Overseer for a few moments, red eyes staring into red eyes. Even if Jie Shan's Great Ape was inherently more powerful, the man he was facing had much more power behind him. This would be a tough battle, but it would be one that he enjoyed. Jie Shan cracked his massive knuckles and grit his ape teeth. And then he dashed, as fast as his ape body would carry him, fist extended and arm outstretched, aiming straight for the jaw of the man's great ape, intending to hit him with a right hook.
