It has been a week since his birth but Plasma has already grow to the size of a bull and yet became extremely agile. The Bio-android made a hive on the tallest tree of the jungle he lives, giving him a clear vision of the blue plains to the west, the mountains to the north and to the east a large river that descends to the purple sea on the south. Comfortable on the bed of leafs and fur, he begins to plan his day, essentially, what to eat: 'The jungle looks quiet today, it will be difficult to find food. I could try the river, as long as I'm patient something should appear, this beings look like addicted to the place, they go every time risking their lives to sip from there...weird. Maybe I should explore the beach again, maybe this time something happens - he close his eyes pondering his options, soon a thundering sound call his attention and the predator moved his head to the west. He has decided.
Near the limit of the jungle, among the leafs of the trees, Plasma scout the plains: No signal of prey yet, he must venture inside the terrain in order to find them. So he jumps down, silent despise his size and bulk, moving in the tall grass for cover, his natural color blending with the plants. After moving far enough so he can't see the jungle from the ground a faint scent get his attention - 'Finally!' - moving fast yet remaining hidden, the predator begins to hear the trumpets of his prey and just like that he can finally see them: big gray creatures, quadrupeds, horns above its eyes and on the side of the mouths pointing forward, a solid-looking frill behind the head following a carapace on their back (almost like Plasma's but segmented and on the opinion of the android less effective) and a long tail. That's the first time he saw this beings, they look slow, using strength in numbers to cover for this fail, the small ones right next to a bigger one and sentinels watching out for danger - 'I must be well hidden, or they don't see me as threat...that will change'.
The android trusts his instincts but hunts mostly using his intellect, studying his prey for half an hour and learning it's habits, provoking false alarms by throwing rocks or making subtle sounds. When finally satisfied, he start to move closer, at pounce range. Having chose the bigger prey, Plasma start to quickly gather around himself, and is enveloped with a blue energy, and launches himself against the beast's belly, surprising it. The impact was powerful and lifted his prey from the some meters from the ground and making it fall to the side, exposing it's belly to another of Plasma's charges, this time the beast stopped moving allowing the bio-android to savor it's meal. The herd of giants was confused, their leader just fell and a creature with a tenth of it's size is eating it alive. When finally finished, nothing of Plasma's prey remained, everything became energy and nutrient for the bio-android - 'Not much savor but highly nutritious...I'll be having more'. Now without the surprise factor and the herd closed on a semi-circle with the young inside and the adults facing Plasma, the android start taunting one of the beast to attack him and after some attempts one of the finally charges forward with it's horns pointed at the hunter that dodge at incredible speed and instantly hit the side of the beast with a charge of it's own, another knock out, another meal.
Half an hour passes, the herd of 23 is now with 10 members, 8 of them young ones. Now, having abandoned his tactics and simply using his speed to out-maneuver the prey and with only one more experiment to make, Plasma charges straight to the head of a charging beast, the result: Plasma splatter the creature's head. Only one adult left, the young are stacking all they can within each other and crying desperate for help while the last adult prepares to charge when it happened. Another creature, a green one twice the size of the adult, smashed it's body against the last quadruped and bending it's head to the ground bit the adults neck and twisted, breaking it with a *clok* sound. With the adult dead the massive predator turns to the young ones, what hurt Plasma's pride that, enraged, roars at the rival and gets it's attention.
Twenty times it's size, bipedal but standing horizontally with his powerful tail balancing it, a strong bulk and a green hard-shell for skin. That's the monster standing in front of Plasma, another one on the top of his food chain to compete, a king to dethrone. A massive roar that makes the ground tremble, and the giant charges, faster for it's size but still too slow for the android that can easily avoid the attack but instead lift up his blue energy barrier. The impact actually drag Plasma some distance back but it's ineffective, unfortunately, for both sides. The android then begins to charge his energy again in attempt to make his own charge this time, and then launches forward just to be countered by a energy blast from the enemy, that made him start to flight to prevent being throw away. Plasma then decide to use it's speed against the foe, and the power draw it's broke with the giant unable to defend against Plasma, it's skin allows some time before being utterly put down. Standing on the broken body of the King of the Plains, the bio-android roars in triumph, moving now to claim his prize: 8 young cattle.
After a big happy meal, Plasma come back to his nest intending only to rest and ponder on the adventure. Arriving, he finds marks of claws everywhere, inside and outside, his bed threshed, like something was looking for him. No scent, no clue of what it was or how to track it, that didn't make sense, what could be this much invisible? Doesn't matter now, better put this doubts to the side for now his body demands rest, let's leave the search for another time, after all, he has prove to be the top of the food chain today, if anything is coming after him, let it. He will be waiting.
(I'll take PL for this, please! With my LMB and the absortions if counts! Thank you!)
