After his training with Nasu Komatsu had stayed behind in the Dojo, choosing to train himself as much as he could in the final hours before his fight with Jie Shan. He could feel his heart racing as he gathered up his energy, fists clenched tightly as he cried out, his energy growing larger and larger around his form.
‘ I won’t let him beat me! I have to prove to everyone that I can do this, I have to prove it to myself! I won’t let them think I’m a weak little kid anymore!’
Komatsu thought to himself as the power he began to gather was growing to be too intense for him to hold onto. His ki seemed to falter as it sputtered between red and gold, even bits of purple energy now flying around him. It was as if his body wasn’t sure what to do. Komatsu’s heart was far too confused for his body to be able to transform into a Super Saiyan, or even the much more powerful Legendary Super Saiyan.
‘Just a little bit more…’
The boy thought to himself in a desperate attempt to transform. He needed this! He needed to become a Super Saiyan! Why couldn’t he do it! It wasn’t fair! He was the Son of Natto and Tomoroko! This should be easy for him!
Komatsu grit his teeth tightly as he gave one big final push of energy. The whole Dojo began to shake and tremble under the incredible amount of energy he had gathered! However, unable to maintain it anymore, Komatsu cursed loudly as he released it into an extremely powerful explosive wave!
The attack was at least 4 times more powerful than the wave he knew, so at least all of this wasn’t a total waste… He began to gather his energy once more in an attempt to recreate the super pwoerful wave, and found that his body had quickly gotten used to it, gathering the energy much more easily as he released it in another powerful explosion!
[Learned OT-2 and OT-3 Explosive wave]
Well, at least his training wouldn’t be a total waste… maybe he was trying too hard to become a Super Saiyan and that was why it just wasn’t happening? Nasu said he needed to feel an intense rage, something on par with how his brother felt when Komatsu had died. He thought he could summon up that much anger out of the blue, but apparently what he felt at this moment just wasn’t enough to do it. No doubt he’d lose this fight…
“Tch. Secret power of not i’m not going to lose…”
He convinced himself, taking in a deep breath as he braced himself into the Soy School’s fighting stance. He extended both of his hands and began to fire one crimson colored ki blast after another, firing them in rapid succession until there were about 10 small balls of energy headed for the wall.
This was something he had wanted to try for a long time, but had never taken the time to truly perfect this technique. Just as the balls of energy were about to hit the wall, Komatsu drew his arms back, causing the balls to suddenly stop before they collided with it. Two of the 10 beams of energy collided with one another and immediately exploded, but with another wave of his hands, Komatsu drew the balls of energy back towards himself, then guided them around the room in a sort of aerial display until he was sure he had perfect control over each and every one of them. One by one, Komatsu would fire the various balls of energy at different directions in the dojo, hitting different mental targets.
[Learned VT-1 + VT-2 Shifting Energy Bullet]
Komatsu would spend the next hour training his new skills, shifting between the Shifting Energy Bullet and the Explosive waves. He would fire bullets out and then redirect them to try and hit himself, while using his Explosive wave to block the bullets and blast them away. It took quite some time to completely master the techniques, but he quickly felt at ease doing it.
Next, he had to perfect his mother’s technique, the Rail Gun. He had gotten quite good with it, but with this new level of power he was able to summon, he knew that he could take it one step further. As his mother had shown him years ago, Komatsu brought both hands together, both index fingers pointing forwards as his thumbs stuck up. He would summon his energy before his fingers once more, watching as it grew from the size of a small tennis ball to the size of a large spacepod!
It was incredible to see so much energy gathered at his fingertips. The orb itself was larger than he was, and carried so much power that his hands began to tremble.
‘Just focus… I’ve done great so far’
Komatsu silently coached himself as he pointed to a scorch mark he had made on the wall, using it as a target. Komatsu inhaled deeply, steadying himself before firing the super powered Rail Gun at the wall. He was shocked to see how fast his attack moved for it’s size, and the impact against the wall caused the dojo to tremble once more, leaving more scorch marks on the wall. However, the wall itself seemed to remain undamaged. It was a true testament to how well it had been built!

At this point, Komatsu found himself exhausted after using one technique after another in such quick succession. He sat back down, leaning back on his hands as he panted, trying to take in as much air as he could to cool down his burning lungs.
“I haven’t trained like this in such a long time…”
Komatsu mumbled as he let himself lie back against the cold ground of the Dojo. Man wss he ever tired! The boy barely even noticed that his eyes were closing and Komatsu was wisked off to sleep.
Komatsu suddenly sat bolt upright as he jolted himself awake. How could he have fallen asleep at a time like this! He couldn’t help the yawn that escaped his lips though as he slowly pushed himself up to his feet. He would rub his eyes and stretch his arm sup above his head, feeling his back crack in several places before Komatsu sighed in relief.
“I guess I’ve got to get back to it…”
He grumbled as he took a quick peek outside the dojo doors to spot the sun in the distance. It looked like he had a good hour, hour and a half before the sun set. That was his self set time limit for training, as he would need to have a good nights rest before the big fight.
Komatsu adjusted the straps on his weighted armor as he stepped back into the dojo and braced himself into his fighting stance once more. Koma narrowed his eyes on an invisible enemy as he brought his left hand forward as if he was going to fire a single handed rail gun. Instead of a small orb of energy gathering at his finger tip, the ki that shot forth took on the shape of a spear.
He had been thinking of how he could slow Jie down, or at least prevent him from using his hidden power. He needed to stop the man in his tracks, and this new idea of his, if it worked, would be perfect to keep Jie Shan still.
“Spear Gun!”
Komatsu cried out the name of his new attack, launching the spear towards the wall with an insane force! As the spear flew and struck the wall, the energy actually impaled it, remaining visible for quite some time before disappearing. Komatsu smirked as he charged up another spear, this time large in size and fired it off again. This time, the spear stayed in the wall for an even longer amount of time before fading away. Good… as soon as he hit Jie with this, he wouldn’t be able to move at all.

There was only one mroe set of techniques that Komatsu told himself that he needed to know, a skill he had put off for a long time as he thought he wouldn’t need it… but against his upcoming opponent, the after-image technique would be an advantage to have. No doubt Jie Shan could use it as well, so we was determined to push his body to be fast enough.
At this point, he would leave the dojo however, sensing that both Nasu and Karota were headed his way. No doubt they were going to do some training of their own, and what he wanted could be done outside the dojo.
Komatsu would flare his ki up around his body before quickly darting towards the door, seeming to be in two places at once as he moved. He opened the door, closing it behind him before Komatsu took off like a bullet at top speed. He would push himself to go faster and faster, pushing his own speed limits as much as he could until he was barely even leaving an image of himself behind at all.
Eventually, Komatsu began to fire off Shifting Energy bullets, using them to force Komatsu to focus on both speed and dodging his own technique so that he could push himself even further and faster.
He would fly around the Soy capital a few times, mastering a few level of the technique with every pass. As Komatsu flew towards their home, he quickly had to put the breaks on as he flew directly towards it. Koma just barely managed to stop himself from slamming into the wall at top speed! However, the first step Komatsu took he tripped, and immediately smacked his head against the wall regardless.
“SHIT! OW!”
Komatsu growled as he covered his forehead with both of his hands with an annoyed expression on his face!
