Christopher kept on trying to teach Negi something and he was starting to understand that feints and other types of attack wouldn’t be working on the earthling saiyan boy; he was far too skilled for that and shaded Negi’s own skill with his own. The saiyan ducked and dodged his ki blast and that gave Negi enough time to focus on reacting to his new charge, attempting to punt him into one of the walls of the arena, but Negi was determined to now allow that this time. The hybrid flared his whitish ki aura just in time for him to dodge Christopher’s charge by jumping above his head and landing behind him.

”It worked! I can dodge his attacks if I focus enough!” he took a mental note of that, as he charged yet another blue-colored ki blast on his hand and fired to the back of the saiyan boy, trying to seize the perfect momentum as he had just dodged his charge. Hopefully it would work, but, if not, at least he had dodged his attack, and he was feeling rather satisfied; other than Luffa, his friend and sparring partner for most occasions, this was the toughest fight Negi was having lately, and that was making his blood to boil.

Christopher congratulated Negi for being able to dodge his attack and he chuckled, making a nod as a way to thank his sparring partner for being so willing to help him improve in battle. Then, the saiyan boy said that they could increase the level of the spar and that made Negi crack a smirk. – Be my guess! – he simply said as he fired his ki blast. Christopher pushed himself off the ground, effectively dodging his ki blast while preparing his own attack. The hybrid red-haired boy followed him with his light-blue eyes as he started performing a series of rapid arm movements.

– Super… - he started speaking as he placed both his palms forward, with his thumbs and index fingers touching each other to form a small diamond shape. – Burning Attack! – he exclaimed as he fired a huge and powerful yellow energy wave from his palms. The attack immediately clashed with the Big Bang Attack, creating a beam struggle.

However, Negi’s attack began to gain the upper hand as it was a more powerful attack and he was really putting a lot behind it. He was getting really serious, and Christopher needed to do something about that or he would lose the struggle.

Negi’s attack was gaining the upper hand quickly and, soon enough, it would be hitting Christopher, and that made the young hybrid to widen his smirk. ”Got him now!” he thought to himself, as confidence grew inside of his heart. But then, as he seemed to be sending him away with his blast, Christopher appeared behind him, charging one attack. Negi widened his eyes, startled at that when he heard the saiyan boy speaking to him, saying he had fallen victim to his plan.

– W-what?! How?! – he exclaimed, asking Christopher out of instinct. Then, immediately after that, he fired another energy attack, an energy wave this time, blue in color. Negi had to act quickly, or he would be doomed! He concentrated all of his inner power on his body, flaring his white ki aura as much as he could as he managed to make himself vanish from the line of attack and reappear a couple feet above the beam, completely avoiding it. Though, the dodging skill, the Rapid Movement, took plenty of tools on Negi’s stamina, and now he was panting heavily and quite vulnerable for another attack. Still, he had managed to avoid being hit, which was quite a feat, considering the great timing and opportunity Christopher seized.

Negi was really cornered now, and things weren’t looking good, because Christopher seemed to be really well rested even after all of those attacks, leaving him on a quite dire situation. It was obvious now that, if Christopher chose to launch yet another attack, Negi would be done for and he was even getting ready for that as he crossed his arms in front of his chest, grimacing a bit as he waited for the attack to come, but it didn’t. Instead, Christopher suggested that Negi gave up on his fight and that made him quite surprised by that. ”What?! He is giving me a way out! Well… That’s embarrassing but… In order for me to win I will have to resort to my inner power, and that’s not fair at all.” he thought to himself, sighing briefly, then he nodded and landed back on the ground.

– Well, you are right! I’m exhausted. You would defeat me if you so choose to, so… Yeah, I concede! Good fight, though! You are pretty strong. – he said, shrugging a bit as a simple and kind smile appeared on his face. – Guess you really did break my winning streak! Just means I have to train much more! Thank you for that. – he added.

Christopher said he did good and that made his smile widen a bit. It was a very odd feeling for him; to be defeated for the very first time in the arena and to feel good about it, to feel he bonded a bit with his opponent and, maybe, that was truly the birth of a real friendship of some sorts. Then, Christopher said that it was one of the best spars he had had and Negi chucked a bit, making a brief nod. – Well, this is my first defeat here, so… This is definitely the best spar I’ve ever had! Hehe! – he admitted, seeming to possess much less stupid stubborn pride as his fellow saiyan comrades.

Then, Christopher announced he should take his leave to search for his sister and Negi nodded in agreement. When the Z-Fighter said that he wished that someday they could fight alongside each other, Negi’s smile became a little smaller as some sadness ran through his light-blue eyes. – Yeah, sure! – he said in a kind of odd tone. ”It’s a shame that it’s not something very likely to happen, Chris… The only thing I truly hope is that we never fight each other to the death. This is something I’m not willing to do… If we ever fight again, in a more serious situation and I’m the victor, you won’t die.” he wanted to tell the saiyan boy that, but instead, he kept it to himself. Then, he waved at Christopher as he flew away, bidding farewell.

But, life is ironic and loves to play tricks on people. Those two would be meeting soon, but the conditions wouldn’t be good. They were about to go on war against one another and that would be something that could change their lives forever.
