Negi vs Chris [Side Saga][ROD]

Negi was splitting his attention in between watching Christopher, as Komatsu had ordered him to and watching the fight, I mean, TRYING to watch the fight; Nasu and Atsuko were moving almost ten times faster than Negi’s ability to keep up and, most of the time they seemed like a sparkling golden blur, only being seen when they stopped to talk to each other. The young hybrid was getting a gasp of what was going on in between the two siblings, and that was something rather rough; seemed like Atsuko did Nasu plenty of wrong, and now he was throwing it all against her, but, still, to come here to kill her? That was… Too much in his opinion, and he hoped, deep inside his core, that it wouldn’t come to that.

When Christopher looked at Negi, the fully powered super saiyan hybrid stared back at him with his now teal-colored eyes and the saiyan boy started speaking. First, he asked if Nasu was always like that, and he just shrugged shaking his head. – To be completely honest with you, the first time I’ve even seen the Overseer in person was a day ago, before coming here. – he admitted and that was true. Negi wasn’t in the army when Nasu was on the planet, and didn’t meet him before he left to Earth and, after that, ever since he had become the Overseer, the young Corporal didn’t have the opportunity to actually meet him. Of course he had met other high ranking officials, but not the Overseer.

Then he said that even though Negi was a super saiyan, he wasn’t going to get scared and he would fight until the end and that made Negi sigh in frustration and sadness; he didn’t want Christopher to die or get injured, but he had a duty; he couldn’t allow him to intervene with the fight and, if he did that, he would end up getting injured one way or the other. Finally, the third thing he had to say was precisely what Negi didn’t want to hear: he was about to try and warn Atsuko about one thing. Negi sighed again, deeply and sharply, and shook his head. – I’m sorry, Chris, but I can’t allow you to do that. I have straight orders. – he explained with a grieving tone in his voice.

Then, the saiyan boy rushed forward, attempting to throw a punch at Negi’s face. The hybrid super saiyan could easily dodge this attack, but he chose not to. In fact, Negi didn’t move an inch and allowed Christopher to hit him right on his face, but it didn’t even move! Negi didn’t flinch with his attack, and, instead, just kept on staring at him with his saddened expression. Then, in quick motion, Negi attempted to grab Christopher’s writs with a tight grip with his hand, using all of his available speed, to keep the boy from going after Atsuko.

– Please, don’t insist. I don’t want to hurt you. You have no chance against a super saiyan, Chris. Give up. Don’t get hurt uselessly. – he said in a rather caring tone. It was clear in his eyes that Negi was feeling sorry of just how powerless Christopher was. If this was another friendly spar, he could very well revert back to his base form and then they would have a more even fight, but this was war, and he couldn’t be so selfish as to do that. – Last time, although I could’ve won with my inner power, I chose not to out of respect. So, respect my true power now and yield. – he asked one more time.

The hybrid super saiyan shook his head. – I’m not merely following orders here. I’m upholding the honor of a saiyan’s duel and… I’m also saving your life. – he said with a rather serious tone as he stared at Chris dark eyes. – Nasu will likely kill you should you intervene, so see my action as an act of kindness towards you, Chris! Give up, go home… Let them battle and we will be handling it. – he told the saiyan boy he was holding tightly with his grip on his wrist, almost to the point of breaking it. But then something happened, something inside Christopher was lit, like a burning flame inside his heart. He was concerned about his master and friend and he was truly determined to go past Negi and reach her. The young hybrid narrowed his eyes as he stared at his friend and possible opponent. ”I’m feeling it… This rage…” he thought to himself, feeling a drop of cold sweat running down his temple; Christopher was ascending, just like Negi had done a couple of days ago.

Christopher said he wouldn’t be giving up on his friends any longer and that was when his hair bristled and glowed in a golden hue, becoming slightly spikier. His eyes became teal, just like Negi’s own and his power level was raised even higher than Negi’s own, making the young hybrid to arch both his brows in surprise. ”So much power! Is that the true power of a full-blooded saiyan upon their first transformation?!” he asked himself in awe. But there was little time to be admiring his friends new power, because Christopher quickly attacked him with a powerful hook to his gut. Negi had to let go of Christopher’s wrist and cross his arms in front of his stomach in order to try and block his attack, but, still, it was way too powerful, and Negi was sent away from him, almost like he was skidding through the air.

– Ugh! – he grunted, grimacing only ever slightly before getting into his fighting stance and sighing in frustration. He was now facing an opponent that was once again stronger than him, only this time he was at his fullest potential; well, almost his maximum potential, but he would be saving that ace for when he really did need it. The hybrid saiyan narrowed his teal eyes. – I see… You had it in you all along… I should’ve expected that to be honest… But, still, that won’t change my resolve! My squad leader ordered me to stop you, and I don’t intend on failing him! Not just because it was an order, but because of what I’ve already told you! So… If you really want to do this, Chirs… - and, with those words, Negi flared his fiery-like golden aura, that was burning bright around his body.



– I won’t falter!!! I will show you the power of my determination!!! – he said and, with those words, Negi charged against Christopher, aiming to throw a flurry of jabs onto his face.

Toru spoke too, saying they wouldn’t be allowing anyone to interfere with the fight because if they did, it would never stop! One of them should be the true victor, for it to have an end, it needed a true closure, where the fighters would do their best, using their skills to show who was the better one. Then, to Negi’s surprise, Toru said he was a Z-Fighter too and the hybrid stared at him, startled by that information. – What?! – that was the only thing he managed to say due to how surprised he was by that. He also had helped training Atsuko, and that just made it even more impressed. ”Wow! So… Mister Toru is really impressive… I wonder what he was like when he was at the pinnacle of his power…”the young hybrid super saiyan wondered.

Christopher spoke again, calling Negi a fool and, at this point, even though the hybrid was trying to keep his cool, it was already irritating him a bit. – We know it! There’s something off about him… Everyone on the higher ranks know that and they have a plan to get him back to his proper self, a plan I have not enough clearance to know! But I trust them! They want to save Nasu! And if that person, Atsuko, like you call her, is truly his sister, I don’t see them killing her off either! Try to put some faith into the Saiyan Alliance! Just like I put on the Z-Fighters when we were back at Natto! – he said, but seemed like Christopher was not there for reasoning as he said, once again, that he wouldn’t allow them to stop him.

Toru also said that he couldn’t just sit this one out, and Negi just sighed; he knew he couldn’t fight Toru on that because he was his superior, but that made him feel a little frustrated. Negi hated unfair fights and he wanted to give his friend the honor of a proper duel. But then it was explained: seemed like Christopher was Toru’s son and that just made Negi even more surprised and he once again managed to utter just a single word. – What?! – and then he gulped, staring from one to the other.

But things got even worse when Atsuko, like a true coward, forfeited the fight and that irritated Negi. ”Why is she doing that?! This won’t end up good…” he felt a huge bad feeling inside of him and it just happened to be true as Nasu announced that, since she was forfeiting, he would blow up the planet. ”Dammit! This is bad!” but before he could put more thought into it, Christopher pointed that out. Negi was feeling conflicted now, but he quickly shook his head. ”No! I’m not going to falter! I will have faith in my companions! They know what they are doing and they are counting on me!” he reassured his resolve and, with that determination, he glared at Christopher.

– What I call that? An answer to a coward who turns her back to a fight! An answer to someone who chose to forfeit her comrades! That’s what you mentor just did, but you are too blind with your worshiping of her to realize it! You blind fool! That’s what you’ve became!!! But I will still save you nonetheless, because that’s who I am!!! – he roared as he saw Christopher preparing that familiar attack, and Negi was about to answer to that with a familiar attack of his own, as he quickly made plenty of motions with his arms until he stretched them with the tips of his index finger and thumb together forming a small diamond-shape.

– BURNING ATTACK!! – he exclaimed as he fired the yellow-colored blast from his palms, clashing with the Kamehameha in a power clash! A beam struggle ensued but, quickly, Christopher’s attack gained the upper hand and started pushing the Burning Attack backwards until Negi was ultimately hit by it with a large explosion. Smoke covered the whole area, but they could hear Negi’s panting from deep inside of the smokescreen. It cleared quickly though, revealing that the young super saiyan was still in fighting shape, but he was getting more damage with the constant beatings and they couldn’t tell just how much more punishment he could take. But his eyes were as determined as ever and he kept on glaring at Christopher. – I told you already… You shall not pass! – he said it another time.
