Ah, the river which resides on the beautiful Mount Paozu, it's water was clear and the sound it had made was all so calming. It would've been quite the ideal place for relaxing but it seemed that fate had another plan for the young saiyan prince. Instead of being able to make his time dedicated to some rest and relaxation Athren had managed to get himself into quite a situation. During his moments spent on the Mountain Athren had encountered a Namekian warrior by the name of Ukare, he was of the warrior caste. In all honesty, he had been minding his own business for the most part until Athren had engaged him and confronted him. He confronted him for quite a simple reason, he wanted to have the space for himself. He wanted to relax alone and not have a slug creature in the area. Little did he know, that this Namek was more than capable of defending himself.
"Namekian, I'd highly recommend you remove yourself from this area." Athren said sternly as he crossed his arms in front of his chest and stared down the green warrior who stood before him. "I don't feel like being in the presence of an insect." The Princes words were sharp. His attitude was full of confidence, he didn't show any remorse nor did he feel a slight bit uncomfortable with confronting the green fighter. In all honesty, Athren was just having a bad day, usually he'd leave it alone. He'd live and let live over this but he just needed to vent his emotions. Every day that he spent on Earth was a burden that grew bigger and bigger. It wasn't easy being royalty and it surely wasn't easy accepting the fact that the whole saiyan race was awaiting him. He didn't make it easy on himself either with his head full of doubts and the haunting thought of failing wrapping itself around the concept of him sitting on the throne. Though it was all in his head it had all seemed to real. This confrontation began because he had wished to blow off some steam and flaunt what he was capable of. He wanted to be feared and respected, half of which he hoped to receive when he returned to claim the throne. "Now, Get lost." Athren spoke up once more to the silent namekian who stood before him. Carefully Athren watched the green creature, he watched for any signs of movement that could indicate an oncoming attack, he wanted to be prepared for the worst case scenario. Though, according to his scouter Athren would've had this in the bag if a fight were to break out. The Namekians power level sat on an even seven thousand five hundred, this was according to Athren's green scouter of course. Currently, Athren's power level was above that by quite a bit, there wasn't any factors that Athren could think of that would make him lose this fight, if one were to have started.
The one known as Ukare smirked devilishly. He had a white fighting Gi on and stood with both his arms at his sides. "Typical." He said aloud in a dark and deep tone of voice. It was clear that he wasn't going to take any abuse from the saiyan prince. He wasn't going to let himself be a simple push over. He was of the warrior caste after all, he wouldn't allow it. "A Saiyan who thinks they're better than everyone else. Pathetic." When he had watched the saiyan prince arrive he had no interest in a fight. He wished to have gone about his daily meditation in peace, clearly this wasn't an option as of now. "If you wish to die I insist you put some action behind that ego of yours. If you wish to live, I suggest you flee with your tail between your legs." With that being said, the much taller warrior stared down at his blue eyed opponent, watching and waiting for any kind of attack. Things were surely going to be interesting.
Hearing the response from the Namekian forced Athren's fist to clench tightly. His teeth ground together lightly as he had instantly been annoyed. In fact, he couldn't believe what he had heard. This namekian was standing up to him? Really? Was he that stupid or was he just a brave fool? Regardless of those details he would have to be taught a lesson and sent straight to hell. "I thought you insects were supposed to be an intelligent race, clearly that's false." He retorted. This was in regard to the fact that he had challenged a saiyan. In Athren's eyes, that was a stupid thing to do. The saiyan race was the perfect form of warrior, and he was about to prove this. "Alright, we'll do this your way." With that being said Athren rushed in towards the namek. The gap closed almost instantly as both warriors prepared for a fight. With the gap closed Athren began to lay a brutal beating on the taller fighter. He unloaded a barrage of punches and kicks that had almost all landed on their mark. The namekian struggled to keep up pace, but he was holding back a large secret. At the moment he simply wanted to see what Athren was capable of. Hit after hit, Athren's fists continued to batter the namekian, he connected a right uppercut to the jaw of Ukare and sent him flying towards the sky. Athren flew up quickly and cut him off, interlocking his fingers Athren brought down his connected fists and clubbed the green fighter with them, this send Ukare darting towards the ground. "You should have listened." Athren taunted his opponent as he watched him use his Ki to catch himself before colliding into the hard surface of the Earth.
It was in this moment that the Namek's power level went up to nine thousand and seventeen. Athren noticed it instantly and arched his right brow. He didn't expect a slug to have such a decent power level. "Eat this!" The namek yelled out as his fist collided with Athren's face. Due to the force of the attack, Athren flung back slightly before catching himself with his Ki. The two warriors clashed once more, their speed was incredible. They had been fighting all across the sky. Sound waves would be heard blasting as their knuckles met, shouts of battle heard echoing throughout the mountain landscape. Neither warrior giving up or slowing down. In fact, this made Athren's heart race. He was a saiyan after all. He absolutely loved battle. Every aspect of it. He especially loved being tested and that is exactly what this Namekian was providing for him. The battle dragged on for twenty minutes or so. Neither warrior making any special headway. Both were basically on even terms. Athren had found himself panting lightly. His face and body scuffed up slightly from taking numerous hits, though the namekian wasn't in any better shape. Athren couldn't help but smirk, this was in fact a fun fight. Regardless of how pathetic it started. "Would you like to see something, Saiyan?" Asked the namekian with a devilish smirk spread across his face. He was obviously up to something and Athren took the bait. He was curious to what and didn't think anything could give a namek an advantage in a fight over a saiyan. Of course, Athren didn't know much about the race of the warrior before him. He knew the bear minimum and that was it.
Athren nodded his head in approval. He wanted to see this trick that his opponent had up his sleeve. "Why not, amuse me." Athren said. It was in that moment that Athren's eyes went wide. The Namekians power level shot up four times and he nearly doubled in size. Athren didn't even have a chance to say a word before the larger namekian launched himself forward to continue the fight. It was in a matter of minutes that Athren couldn't fight back. The speed and power displayed by Ukare was completely overwhelming. He felt countless hits to his body, his stamina running out. Athren was helpless, yet fist after fist. They just kept coming his way. Athren had felt a large fist hit his stomach. He hunched over and a mouthful of blood spit out from his mouth. He then felt a foot come downward on his skull. He would've got sent to the ground but half way through his journey the Namek extended his arm and gripped Athren to bring him back in. Once Athren had been brought back the Namek brutally blasted him in the chest with his eye beams. Luckily, they hadn't pierced his body. This very well could have been due to Athren's armour. At this moment, Athren had felt an elbow collide with his head. Helplessly, Athren was sent to a flat area of the mountains. It didn't take very long, but Athren had hit the surface of the Earth hard and made and went into a nice slide. His body dug into the ground and he made a trail of dust behind him. He found it difficult to move, he found himself helpless. The namek was about to follow him in to make his final move but he had seen another person in the area, one that hadn't been involved. Wishing not to portray his race as mindless killers, the namek had decided to leave peacefully. He turned around to fly away. With this, Athren was left to pick up his pride and try and get up.
Athren grumbled to himself as he pushed himself to wobbling legs, it took him every ounce of energy that he had. His posture was terrible, his left shoulder slanted down further than his right. His right hand came up to grip his left shoulder. His breathing was heavy. He was in rough shape. Watching his opponent flee, Athren wasn't aware of another person around him. "B-Bastard.." Athren said before toppling to the ground. Once more, he'd try to pick himself up. The question was, could he? Word Count: 1690.
Atsuko had just left the company of her new comrades Tau and Bernael, they had spent a reasonable amount of time training together. The Saiyan felt as though her power had nearly doubled in the process. Though perhaps that was an inaccurate assessment. Either way, it had certainly proved most useful. Now the Knight was making her way towards Mount Paozu, though she did know this to be the destination. She had been wandering in random directions for quite awhile now. One would assume her to be near death as a result, but it was rather the opposite; she was thriving.
However, as she walked along the path she vaguely got the feeling that something was wrong. Birds and animals seemed to be moving away from the Mountain, the Saiyan silently wondered why this was happening. "Odd... What's going on?", she asked no one in particular. And then she fell silent as she continued her approach, listening to her surroundings. It was far off, distant. But she could hear what sounded like powerful blows, was there a battle going on? She needed to be careful, she was alone now and she knew nothing about the potential enemies.
This was not the time for her to go flying into the air to get better views, instead she remained close to the ground, glancing around and hoping to find the answer. Finally, she saw something up at the top of the mountain. Two figures locked in a fierce clash, she couldn't see any other details. What she could tell was that they were far stronger than she was. All she could do was observe from safety. Finally, it seemed like the battle took a deciding point; one of the figures suddenly grew much longer. It became one-sided when that happened.
The other figure was eventually thrown from the top of the Mountain, all the way down in front of where Atsuko stood. That was the moment where the victor saw her. She tensed up, expecting herself to be their target now... But instead, he merely left. With a small sigh, she turns her gaze towards Athren. She begins to approach calmly. "Easy, you're lucky to still have your life. But if you keep pushing yourself, you won't have it much longer.", the Albino stated as she then offered a hand to help him up to his feet. "Let me help you, you look like you need it, friend."
At the moment, she seemed rather friendly to the injured man. She wasn't entirely sure what to make of him, the armor he wore was of unknown design and origin to her. And he seemed to have a tail, just like herself... The Knight might need to make mention of that. But the first priority was to help him to a safe area and tend to his wounds. If he decided to fight her on the subject, then she would merely be forced to help him. That was something she already decided. Her honor wouldn't let her leave someone to die.
How could this have happened? Athren had been training hard for quite some time now and he had found himself defeated by a mere slug? It wasn't right. He was a saiyan elite, he was the prince! This must have been some sort of a fluke, it didn't add up. It was quite amusing though that even though his body had taken such a massive beating it was his pride that was damaged the most. He felt as if all his efforts were in vein. This had been his first REAL battle since he arrived on Earth and he failed to come out as the victor. It wasn't right. Athren would have spent his next few hours thinking about this if it wasn't for an unexpected guest. Hell, his scouter must have been acting up as it didn't even detect her approach or was it just that she was that weak? Regardless, Athren needed to remain cautious. He wasn't in a position to defend himself to the best of his abilities. Surely, this woman wasn't here to fight him though. After hearing her words, he was positive he'd be fine. She seemed to be quite pleasant and kind which nice, but unfortunately for her Athren wasn't going to be acting that way. He was the prince with damaged pride and she had witnessed his loss. This was completely unacceptable. While she spoke Athren's gaze had remained on the ground. He had managed to stay on all fours as he struggled to even hold himself up in that position. Did Athren just hear her correctly?Did she just offer him help? He was a saiyan, he didn't need any help! Especially from a weak Earthling woman! "G-g.. Erg.. Get lost!" Athren spoke up with a strain of pain rattling in his voice. It was obvious that he wasn't in the best shape nor that he wasn't feeling his best. "I--" His speech had stopped as he painfully forced himself up onto his feet. It was ironic, how her being there had actually helped him to his feet. Even though he was about to refuse any help from her. He was the prince, he refused to be downed in front of anybody. He wasn't going to look weak. He wouldn't allow this. Stumbling to his right Athren barely managed to hold himself up. "I..- don't need any of your help!" Athren grunted lightly as every part of his body had been in a massive amount of pain. It wasn't something he hadn't experienced recently, it actually reminded him of all his training back home and the brutal beatings that his mentor Zaleio had given to him. "Especially from an Earthling wom--.." At this moment in time Athren cut himself off. It was for a simple reason, he had finally lifted his head and raised his eyes from the ground to her.
He didn't expect to see what he did. She was actually kind of cute, who would've thought that Earthling girls could have so much beauty surrounding them? Regardless of this though, Athren wasn't going to soften up. He could get through this himself. He had spent the last seven years on Earth alone, every challenge or obstacle he had conquered was done on his own will. He was positive he could get through this as well. Though he damn well knew that it wasn't going to be an easy task. It was in this moment that Athren was going to attempt to leave, he turned his back to the woman and took three steps forward, he was going to try and fly but he didn't have enough energy for even that. It seemed like walking was his best option until he managed to regain some of his energy. Though he attempted to walk, he had failed. After his third step Athren's knee's gave out and he toppled to the ground once more. "Umph.." was the sound that had left his lips when his torso collided with the Earth's surface. He couldn't help but wonder just how pathetic he was looking. Especially in front of an Earthling, his race was most likely made out to be something incredible and life threatening yet here he was, unable to pick himself off the dirt. Some prince, huh?
In all honesty, how could this get any worse? He was broken. His pride, his body and his mind. This was the worst combination to have in front of another living creature. Hell, his eyes were beginning to grow heavy. He was on the verge of blacking out, though there wasn't any way he'd allow such a thing to happen! He couldn't, he was a saiyan! He didn't have any weakness, he was unstoppable.. Or so he had once thought. Until this had occurred. What the hell was he going to do now? Incapable of moving, he was stuck. Hopefully she'd leave him be, or he'd have to find some method of getting the situation resolved in his favour. Word Count: 832 Total Word Count: 2,522
Atsuko's smile faded, the man was stubborn and refused her aid. She watched as he struggled his way back to his feet. "Do you prove something this way?", she questioned. Was there some weakness in accepting the aid of another? Perhaps she would have said that once long ago; when she was a child. But that was handily taught otherwise by her Order. No one could accomplish everything alone. That lesson was made clear as day; if the Prince continued to push himself in such a fashion, he would fall unconscious, some beast would find him and have him for lunch.
Or nature would simply take it's course, and he would perish. There was no way he was getting back to any safe area. She listened to his words, however they were soon cut short. First by pained grunts, and then as soon as he looked at her. She arched a brow in response. "Coming to your senses?", she inquired. No sooner than she asked that did he turn around and attempt to leave. Each step must have felt like they weighed a thousand times their usual worth. Atsuko simply kept pace with him, watching him as then fell to his knees after three steps.
"As far as I see it, you have a choice. You can live, or you can die.", she stated. And then she brought a hand to her chin as she pondered. "Hmm... No, you don't even have that choice. I have decided that you will live. You can cooperate with me, or I can drag you through the dirt. I'll let you decide which you would prefer.", she added. And then she began to lift him up off the ground. Though the Knight spoke with harsh words, she was being rather careful in picking him up off the ground.
She took a moment to secure him in her arms, he'd have to put in a fair struggle in order to escape, and then she began to walk towards the Mountain, from her observations, she was able to spot a decent place to make a camp. The Albino Saiyan would have brought him back to a town of some sort, but she sadly didn't know the area well enough to even make such an attempt. It proved a relatively short walk, even if Athren made the choice to try and escape from her grasp. Finally they arrived at a small overlook of the river and surrounding land.
The Knight then proceeds to set him down carefully, it wasn't going to make for the most comfortable resting spot, but it would have to do for now. She then proceeded to kneel next to him, and retrieve a pack. She rummages through it for a moment, before finding a bedroll and then laying it out next to the Prince. The Saiyan Girl then proceeded to move around him, and gently move him onto the bed. It did prove to be more comfortable than the bare Earth that was below him a moment ago.
"Now, I'm going to set up a campfire. Don't suppose you're hungry?", she asked. Though it seems she didn't even wait for an answer as she began to gather some rocks and set them in a circle, that proved a fairly swift task. There was some sticks and branches that could be used for the fire as well. The Knight wandered to and fro as she gathered the materials she needed, and then it was finally time to start the campfire itself. It took a solid minute or two, as well as adding some leaves and other forms of fuel...
But there was a campfire now. She continues back over to her pack, and begins to dig through it. She finally retrieves a pot and some various bits of food. She didn't claim to be a master chef or survivalist, but the Order did teach her valuable lessons about how to stay alive in the field. It was something that would benefit her and Athren. A little more setup, and now she had a stew cooking. She'd need to go hunting again for more food, but that was something she could take care of later. She stirs the contents of the pot, and then looks over at Athren.
She finally stands up and returns to him. "Now, you can drink. Or I can make you drink. But you need water, and you'll need food. I need to check your injuries; but I don't suspect you're going to prove very cooperative at the moment. Can I expect that to change?", she said to the Prince. Atsuko had several questions for him, but they would have to wait until his condition was stable. He proved hardy enough, but he was also stubborn. And that was only going to make his injuries worse.
With the woman talking to him as he made an attempt to leave, Athren had listened to her but he didn't respond. There wasn't a use for it. He was going to have it his way or no way at all. He wasn't some weak earthling who needed help. He was the saiyan prince after all, he was one of a kind. He wouldn't let such a minor beating do this to him. There wasn't any way in hell. Of course, this had all been much harder than he thought.
Laying on the ground she had began to speak of options. She had asked if he wanted to live or die. His response was a simple one. "Heh.. You know. Whether you stick around and annoy me or not.. I'm getting through this." Athren winced lightly as another jolt of pain vibrated throughout his entire body. It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience but he had to deal with it. It was in this moment that she had approached him, in all honesty he couldn't figure out why she'd help him. It didn't make sense, obviously his race was known for what they were and his features should have clued her in almost immediately. Unless of course, she didn't know? Not only was this a factor but Athren was a complete stranger, there wasn't any benefit to her for helping him. Not only that but Athren had never received help before. Nobody ever took the time to assist him when he was down. He always had to get up on his own terms and deal with the situation on his own. It didn't make sense. Regardless, it was obvious that Athren didn't have a choice in the matter even though he simply wanted to be left alone. If he as mobile he'd most likely swing a fist at her but that wasn't an option. The situation rushed through his head as he tried to figure out how to avoid it all. There simply wasn't a thing. No matter which way he sliced it he was stuck, he didn't have to be happy about the situation but he had to face it her way. Which obviously wasn't first choice. "If I told you to go to hell, You wouldn't leave. Would you?" He asked this lightly. He didn't like the situation but he was attempting to make the absolute best of it. As she helped him get to his feet he insured she wouldn't carry him the way she would have wanted. He tossed his arm over her shoulders. He wasn't going to be carried, there wasn't a chance in hell. He had two feet and they were still functional. It was a fair compromise. "I've got my own damn feet." He said with slight attitude. He wasn't exactly a people person but in this case he was putting in slight effort. In all honesty, he figured he was doing okay.
With her assisting, Athren was managing to walk. He didn't believe how hard such a simple task had become. It wasn't right. It didn't help that he was beating himself up over the whole situation. Realistically, it was just a loss. It shouldn't have been that big of a deal. Unfortunately, his pride had thought differently. The walk would've been fairly quiet on his part. He wouldn't have said much. He wasn't exactly a social butterfly. The walk had led them to an overlook where they could see the river and the surrounding area. It was quite peaceful and relaxing. It would've been the perfect spot to kick back and relax if he was in better shape. Instead he had to lay around until he felt somewhat better. He felt helpless for the first time in his life, he was depending on somebody else to get him to where he needed to be. The woman had then set out a bedroll for him, when he was placed down he sat up. Another grunt slipped from his lips. "G-agh.." She had asked if he had been hungry and she began to prepare a fire. Currently, he wasn't hungry. He was too distracted by all his thoughts to be hungry, his stomach wasn't even something he was concerned about. "No. I'm fine." he said clearly. His right hand planted firmly on the ground behind him. This was to support himself to insure that he didn't topple backwards.
She then spoke of what she needed to do and what Athren needed. This didn't exactly sit nicely with him. What he needed was to be alone and get through this himself. He needed to build himself up as a warrior and rise when he fell without the help of others. If he didn't have to push himself through daily life he felt there wasn't anything to gain. "Don't act like you know what I need, I don't need a damn thing..." Athren blurted out as strongly as he could. His voice was still strained with the pain he was feeling. "Hell, I don't even know why you're doing this. I don't need any damn help. I can take care of myself." At the moment, his pride was doing all of the talking. He still didn't want to believe he was receiving or needing help.
The scenery. Awwww, yes. All of it seemed to enthrall the young Elemi while she was piloting her Custom Ladd Hovercar. Black and red paintjob with vinyl flames on each side, just big enough to carry two passengers. Its retractable roof was down, letting the Elemi’s hair flow free.. being distracted like this was a dangerous thing to do considering how low she was getting to take the sight in. Her robot companion, Jax, was sitting in the passenger seat next to her, just blinking its little eyes out the side of the vehicle. Flare took in a deep breath and looked down at the little guy. “Doesn’t it look lovely around here?” … Jax just blinked back at her.
“I don’t comprehend.” What a buzzkill, this guy. She just shook her head at him and looked back to the world around her. I suppose that’s what I get for asking a robot a question. Especially my robot. She thought to herself as the party made its way to the mountain’s river. The water looked so nice and clean, it was something mystifyi- “Considering the high amounts of H20 in the area, is this your cue to strip yourself of clothing and go take a ‘shower’?” Jax projected this all of the sudden. Flare froze up, blushed, and stared daggers at the innocent robot. It didn’t realize what it had done.
“AND WHERE DID YOU GET THAT IDEA FROM?” She rose her voice, her hair dangerously flaring up in anger and embarrassment.
“You, Flare. Why, is there something wrong with that assumption?” That didn’t exactly help the red in her face from anger. She was so wanting to dismantle the little punk in the hovercar right where he sat. But instead of doing that, she just stiffly nodded her head at the hunk-of-metal. She had some crazy eyes about her at the moment. “Yes, Jax. Yesssss. You don’t ask people that, Jax.”
“Why not? Isn’t that where you decide to play with yo-” That was it. She took the little guy in both of her hands and started strangling the thing by its thin metal neck. The strong metal crushed under her grasp, but it didn’t do much more than that. This fault in thinking lead to something a little more devastating than A.I. configuring though. She had both hands off the wheel.
“I’m. This. Close.” She started affirming with a gesture of her pinching index finger and thumb together close. The car started swerving dangerously near trees though, and Jax was the only one being observant of the situation.
“Flare. The driver’s wheel.” The robot seemed unphased by his crushed neck and pointed at the wheel like it was making sure she knew. “It would be best to remain focused on the road.”
“Road? I thought I- Oh shit, the wheel!” The Elemi took a hold of the wheel and took a hard turn away from lone tree. She was already way too low into the forest now to just try getting up through the branches safely. “Ohhhhhh crap, not the paintjob! Nooo!” Swerving and zigzagging through a couple of the trees became easy, some branch scratches here and there but nothing to whine about. Eventually she managed to slow the thing down to a halt next to the river, keeping her eyes narrowed as she slowly glared at Jax.
“You’re more trouble than you were worth developing, boy.” She equated it to raising a child many times before. She was starting to make her way on out of underneath the forest’s shade and out of the trees. Jax turned his bent neck over to see something that caught his sensors though.
“Wait, Flare.” The tiny robot started, but was soon greeted with...
“Not now.” Flare was full focused on her immediate surroundings.
“Flare, liste-” Only to be cut off again, the robot blinks as Flare interrupts him.
“Jax, I’m trying to not accidently bump into anything else. Please, I’m trying to concentrate!” She scoffed further at him and cringed as a branch scrapped at the driver-side door.
“Flare, there’s a few people that look like they could use some help-” The small robot vaguely pointed at a pair of unidentified figures on the other side of the river. A pair of figures Flare groaned at as she kept on going.
“Help? I need help fixing this mess.” She was grumbling a little even though most of the damage done was caused by her. Out of all the people, Jax was the easiest one to annoy her. “If they need so much help, why don’t you go over there and help them yourself, you helper-bot, you.” She started being coy with Jax, obviously displeased with his performance. So… He did as told, getting out of the hovercar and jumping on down to the forest floor. Flare was beginning to calm herself, and just in time too really. Any more and she’d probably catch a tree on fire.
And so, the two saiyans would start seeing this small robot start floating on towards them. Spotting the little camp they started building. Giving a small, friendly wave as mannerism of what he expected should be done when meeting people. He’d set himself on to the ground a bit away from them, watching them. “My sensors detected that someone was in pain. Can I, Jax, be of assistance?”
"Oh yes. I saw how you took care of yourself earlier. Really had a handle on that fight.", she responded. Though she wasn't speaking in a mocking tone either. She gave a small sigh as she examined his wounds; he could struggle as much as he'd like. He wasn't really going anywhere. "Listen, that pride of yours is going to get you killed. Especially if you keep rushing into fights like you did earlier. If someone doesn't put you in the dirt, then you trying this whole 'I don't need any help' act is.", the Knight stated as she began to clean off his wounds with a cloth.
"There's no strength in that, you'll die and there won't be any songs or stories. So stop being a stubborn fool for five minutes while I save your life.", she added. Now that his wounds were cleaned off, she was able to see the true extent of his injuries. It wasn't anything that would kill him as long as he took some time to rest. But that was going to be the key, getting him to sit down for any reasonable amount of time. Her supplies were all meant for the field, but...
It'd be better than nothing, she began to dress the wounds up now that they were safe from infection. "Now, let's have a more pleasant conversation, hm? Your tail. I thought I was the only Human with one. Think you can discuss the details of that with me?", the Albino Saiyan inquired as she tended to the Prince's wounds. She was relatively unaware of what was goign on around them, to such a point that when a certain robot spoke up, it caused her to flinch slightly in surprise as she glanced back at it. "Oh. Aye, he got himself into a nasty fight."
Atsuko looked back at Athren. "If you have extra supplies, that would do him quite a bit of good. I only have enough to do a field fix.", she said to the Robot as she was trying to focus on her work. "Now, about your tail. Darker shade of color than mine is.", she continued on her topic from before. Though she got the vague sense that perhaps her newest patient didn't believe her when she said that she had a tail, too. The Knight paused momentarily on her work so as to fiddle with her armor and robes.
Then, a tail slid out the back and she took a moment to stretch. "That's better. See? Most people get scared of the sight. And I learned that being grabbed by the tail is about the worst thing that can happen in a fight. I tend to hide it, as a result.", Atsuko explained. She had done about as much with the wounds as she could manage for now, the good news is he wasn't going to bleed out, and they weren't going to get worse. As long as he stayed down and didn't stress himself.
Yeah, that was totally going to happen. She'd have to lecture the stubborn fool every few minutes, she could see that already.
No, this wasn't happening. First she forcefully helps him against his will and now he was getting lectured by her? Just what the hell was going on? Nothing was going the way it was supposed too and it was really starting to get on Athren's nerves. He didn't need a damn lecture regarding his fighting habits. He was the saiyan prince, he was royalty. He could live his life however he pleased, this included putting himself against outnumbering odds. It was simply a way to challenge himself as a fighter and to push himself to height that were incredible. There wasn't any chance he was going to let a lecture like this go on. He was going to attempt to stop it right there. Athren spoke up just after her bit on songs or stories, his tone indicated that he wasn't exactly impressed with her words. "Somebody put me in the dirt?!" he repeated before getting to his point. "I'd rather die an honourable death than back down from a fight, and I'd rather die than be helped by you!" It was at this time that Athren would've brought his left hand up to slap her hand away from him. She had struck a nerve with her lectures. The Royal Prince, helpless. It was pathetic.
In all honesty, Athren was on the verge of losing his cool. He was actually quite pissed with her most recent words. She hadn't a clue what he had been through his whole life. She didn't know what he was meant to be, what he was trying to do. She didn't have any clue of the honour that he had. She just didn't know, she was a mere Earthling woman or so Athren had thought. Before Athren managed to completely blow the situation out of proportion, she had said something that had gotten his attention. She commented on his tail, claiming she thought she had been the only human with one? Athren's eyes would have widen slightly at this point, he was completely taken by surprise. He hadn't ever seen a saiyan look as she did. Nor had he ever met any that acted like her. She was a special case, this had brought up so many questions in his mind though. If she hadn't been bluffing and she was a saiyan, how did she get here? Why didn't she know what she was? It didn't add up. This was something Athren could talk about. "A tail isn't a human trait, it's a saiy--" with the sound of another voice in the area Athren had got cut off. He looked over to see a robot at the same time the woman did. The words echoed through Athren's head for a moment. ~ Detected someone in pain, can I be of assistance..~ Hearing this pushed another button on Athren, he was already having a hard enough time coping with the whole situation but now? No. A female assisting was enough now a robot requested to aid him? Hell no, this wasn't happening.
Adrenaline rushed through Athren's body as he snapped. His anger completely took over him for a moment. He rose to his feet quickly, he had almost felt like he was completely healed, of course this wasn't the case. He was temporarily feeling high due to the adrenaline. His current actions would have immediate consequences but he didn't give a damn, he was tired of people telling him that he needed this, or needed that or even asking if he needed help. He didn't, he was the damn saiyan prince! He needed nobody! "THE SAIYAN PRINCE DOESN'T NEED ANY HELP FROM ANY OF YOU BASTARDS!" Athren yelled out, his tone full of rage. His right hand came out to his right and he formed an orange ball of Ki. Once it was ready he launched his right hand forward and released it. "GO TO HELL!" It shot across the landscape towards the robot known as Jax. It was a very accurate attack. It was highly unlikely that it would miss.
Regardless of the effects that the blast would have made, Athren wouldn't have been able to see it. With his foolish attack he had completely ran himself out of energy. Athren would've panted a total of three times before toppling to the ground once more. This time, he was out. He had been completely unconscious. He didn't expect that to happen, now he was completely at the mercy of the potential saiyan woman and this damn robot. What the hell was going to happen next? This just wasn't Athren's day. The little robot stepped forward closer to the fire and gave the blonde woman a good look, blinking its robot eyes as it scanned her selectively. The words she spoke gave him reason to nod. "Extra supplies. I'm sure Flare has something medical in her L.A.D.D." His eyes then locked onto Athren, who was mainly just starting to have a hissyfit. Jax blinked some more and seemed to try gauging just how bad the wounds are. When Athren put his arm out, the little robot seemed to start objecting. "Sir, I would highly suggest not moving around with the weight of the injuries on you. Laying down-" the blast sent at him nails him in the upper-chest area, the strong material caving in hard. It didn't bust through and portion of his body, but the blast did burn most of his small torso. Slowly, his left arm fell out of its socket and dropped to the earthen floor with a light thud. Jax never stopped talking as he got blasted up though.
"-is advised. It will help relieve stress on the injured body." In fact the little guy didn't even notice his own arm falling off until it made the obvious noise. He looked on down at it as he blinked. "How did my arm get there." It was apparent the robot wasn't the smartest bit of bolts, at least it's a.i. wasn't. The arm gets picked up and held in his remaining arm as he tilts his bent neck back up to meet Atsuko's eyes. "I can go retrieve Flare if that is what you want, she is currently busy getting her 'hot rod' out of the trees." The way he forced the hot rod letters apparent with a big pause seemed like he thought the name was the actual Id of the car. The aggressive male actually just fell over though, and that seemed to displease the little robot as it contorted the robotic face into a sadder expression.
"He didn't listen." As if that wasn't very obvious that was the case. A low humming sound suddenly started booming from out of the background noise suddenly. A small hovercraft, dented and scratched, had shot its way over to the group on the other side. The driver made careful to position the craft alongside the river so they didn't have to deal with the trees. Almost in a single movement, they jumped on out of the craft and took a look around. They were wearing safety goggles of some intricate design. Once she found the small robot around the campfire the average sized woman started pacing on closer.
"Jax! Are these the two you said you were helping?" The aggressive sounding female peered at him from under her guise and quickly also noticed that he was holding his own arm. She took the goggles on off. Jax had turned on around by the time this woman would start glaring at him.
"Jax? Did you jump into the fire or something?" She raised a red brow at the robot, expecting just an act from it.
"No. The male saiyan blasted me. Then passed out from exhaustion. I failed him." Flare frowned a little and just kneeled next to the small robot. Despite not being capable of it, he seemed honestly disappointed. "Hey, buddy. I think the problem is more that he was angry. For... Whatever reason." She raised her head back up at the lady, lightening her expression. Yes, she was giving a toothy grin. "I see you've met my little robot here. The name's Flare. I make anything from gear and cog clocks to advanced A.I. The little bot's name is Jax." She patted the little robot's head as she stood back up. It was obvious she was proud of herself. She took a moment's pause to look down at Athren. Blinking at the damage inflicted. "Damn, what fucked him up?"
"Um, Flare. The female needed some medical supplies to help the man with his injuries." He waved his detached arm up at Flare as he tried giving it to her to hold. She took it up with a confused look on her face. The little guy was already wobbling his way on over to the hovercar. "The kit is in the dash. Correct?" Flare gave a quick nod to the departing before sighing a bit to herself. Fingers were run through her hair as she decided to just look between the two others.
"I swear it's like raising an indestructible child. Which... Now that I think of it, nice. They don't cry." She adjusted the goggles a bit on her head before realizing she hadn't properly greeted the lady yet. With a walk around the fire she extended a hand for her. "Nice to meet ya... Is he actually going to be okay though?" Referring to the fallen guy. She was almost tempted to give him a good kick.
Well, it seemed like she was finally making some progress for once. As the Prince began to explain the Tail to her, it seems as though what the Robot said set him off... The stubborn fool proceeded to stand up as if there was nothing injuring him, and then draw upon his Ki. "If you keep that up, you're going to pass out!", she shouted at him. Though he didn't care. He exclaimed once more that the 'Saiyan Prince didn't need any help' and after cursing the small Robot out, he unleashed a large blast of energy at it. He didn't even stay standing long enough to see the results.
Athren toppled over soon after. And she let out a long, exasperated sigh. The dust settled and Jax wasn't even broken, just missing an arm. The Albino Saiyan rubbed her forehead. "Stubborn Fool...", was all she said before a low humming noise came from the distance. Then a hovercraft stopped next to the campsite. A red-headed woman was speaking to the Robot that came to help out, though really it only resulted in the Saiyan Prince falling unconscious... Well, that much couldn't be helped. After a short conversation between the two about what happened...
Flare looked over at Atsuko, and gave a toothy grin. By this point, the Albino Saiyan had calmed down. "Nice to meet you, I'm Atsuko Inoue, Sworn Holy Knight.", she introduced herself first. And then she nudged the unconscious Prince on the ground. "This here is Stubborn Fool.", she added. Flare proceeded to ask what happened to him, and the Knight obliged by explaining. "His own damned pride got him into this mess. Went off and challenged a warrior that was far stronger than he was. If not for me happening by the area, he'd probably be dead by now."
Once the Knight finished her explanation, Jax added that she asked for supplies. Flare made an interesting comparison as to what it was like to have the Robot around all the time. "Well, he seems much more friendly than the ones I encountered earlier. Tried to stick me with swords and blast me full of holes.", the Albino Saiyan commented, before their topic of discussion once more returned to the Prince. She gave another small sigh, and a nod. "If I can make the Stubborn Fool stop straining himself, he'd make a full recovery. As you can imagine, I have my hands full."
Well, there wasn't much to be done about that. The Albino Saiyan began to move Athren back onto the bedroll, and clean off his wounds. At least he was proving more cooperative in his unconscious state. Once all the dirt and various bacteria had been cleaned off with the cloth she had earlier retrieved from her pack, she chose to wait until Jax retrieved the first aid kit. More supplies meant that she didn't only have to do a field work result. And considering he just wasted all of his energy, it was almost going to be needed.
Even better then, that she had already started cooking beforehand, and they had some fresh drinking water. Athren was going to wake up feeling even worse than he already did. Oh, and Atsuko was going to tear into him about not doing something like that again. He couldn't even muster up enough power to destroy such a tiny bot. Which exactly proved her point about putting up such a strong front in the first place. At the moment, Jax was mighty enough to slay the Saiyan Prince. That was quite the honorable death, indeed! The more she thought about it...
The more she honestly started to hate him. But damned if she wasn't determined to save his life anyway. Since Jax hadn't returned with the medical supplies, the Albino Saiyan stood up and turned her attention to the campfire, and the stew that had been cooking in the pot. She stirred the contents, all of it seemed to be coming along nicely. And after everything that happened, Atsuko had to admit that she was feeling rather hungry. She gave a glance over to Flare. "Hungry? There's enough for you to have some, too.", the Knight stated.
“Atsuko Inoue...” The young fire repeated to herself as she wiggled the robot arm in her free hand. “Holy Knight, eh? That’s quite the title you have there, lady. I guess it explains the get-up you have. I'd be lying if I said it doesn't look cliche and dorky. Not that that is bad...” She, quite shamelessly, looked her over a few times. Raising brows at the armor she wore. Quite frankly, she had little room to talk. Eventually her eyes trailed on off to the poor Athren on the ground.
“Stubborn fool. I’m going to call him Brat though for messing with my robot.” She kneeled on down and gave the guy a good thwack on the head with the robot arm he caused. No one messes with her creations other than herself. And herself only.. “Teaches him for acting like one, that’s for sure.” Flare hopped on away to just sit herself on next to the fire, a knee poised while her other leg laid straight. Laying back a bit against the propping up of arms. One-armed Jax was walking on back to the group with something carried in his arm.
“Yeah, Jax is a innocent little hunk of scrap. His A.I.’s not the best, but I’m still training it. He wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s not made for that.” It was then Flare noticed the robot wobbling on back with something that seemed much too large for a medkit. Quite literally, Flare’s hair sent up wisps of flame as she quickly changed to a glare. Her voice rose again, getting aggressive and bitter. A complete 180 from what she was saying just a second earlier. “JAX. IS THAT WHY YOU WERE TAKING LONGER THAN YOU NEEDED!?”
The little robot blinked at the Elemi and just attempted offering the box. It looked like it had been pulled from something, as wires hung out from the side. “You asked for the medkit, and told me it was in the passenger dash.” Jax would be getting his arm thrown at him for that comment that seemed harmless enough. It clinked off his head and landed next to him. “So I brought the dash so you could get the med kit.” Flare could be seen gritting her teeth HARD.
“JAX. That’s not what you do when you get something for someone… YOU ACTUALLY GET THE MEDKIT OUT, NOT BRING THE WHOLE THING IT’S IN.” Despite her scolding she was taking the dash and opening it up to search through it. She didn’t seem to realize there were people around to see her acting like her normal self. “I’ve had you for months now, do I really need to make you learn every single scenario?”
“I don’t understand. You have the medical supplies now.” She was plucking it out as he spoke that out, the elemi tossing the whole dash back at Jax who was unable to catch it with just one hand. The robot stumbled back away from the dash as struggled picking it up as well. “Jax, it’s because you ripped part of the car up, now… just, put this back in its place, okay?” She nervously looked back at Atsuko as seconds before she realized the lady was still there. Red in the face soon after that realization.
“Eh… heh… Food? Yes. Please. Me and the little guy have been out flying for a good few hours.” Flare smiled at Atsuko with her teeth. She seemed a little shaky after that little episode. “Isn’t that right, buddy? Yeah, we were just taking that hotrod over there out for a stress run-” She glanced back at the robot and started, but stopped to see it looking back at her.
“But it has only been thirty minutes-” Jax tried correcting Flare who just started talking over him.
“Like I said. A. Good. Few. Hours!” She tried staying firm as she straightened up in her sitting position and offered the medkit to the Saiyan lady. “It’s not extensive, but it’ll definitely keep him from being any worse than he is now. I assume you know how to deal with proper medical supplies?” She perked a brow. _______ WC: 726 TWC: 2531
Atsuko let out a small chuckle as she stirred the stew, apparently Jax had more than just a few quirks. Poor little guy, his heart was in the right place, at least. "Well, at least it doesn't get boring. Traveling alone is only as exciting as what you can find... You can see how that turned out this time.", she directed a glance towards the Prince once more. She stopped stirring the stew, and then began to dig into her pack once more, retrieving a bowl and spoon to eat with. She carefully set the bowl down on the ground, with the spoon resting in it.
She then accepted the medkit as it was offered by Flare. "Thanks. And help yourself! I've cooked that type of meal enough times now to know when it's ready to eat.", the Saiyan stated as she then made her way over to Athren. She set the medkit down and opened it up, taking a moment to examine the contents. As if on cue, Flare asked if the Knight knew how to use proper medical supplies. The Albino Saiyan gave a nod in response. "Aye, I may not have much experience with the modern world, but..."
She began retrieving some medicine that would help relieve the pain. "I've had a lot of experience with medicine. It gets cold up on the mountain, and we were prone to injuries during training.", the Saiyan explained as she then gave Athren a shot of the medicine. It wasn't going to get rid of his pain. It was just going to make him forget he had any in the first place. But the Prince wouldn't be moving around like nothing was wrong, either. With that out of the way, she began to dress up the wounds. They were still cleaned off.
So, no chance of infection, he wasn't going to bleed out. And he would have a restful sleep. There would still be some food and water when he wakes up, too. Hell, the bedroll proved comfortable enough too. It was all a little more than he deserved, considering how he had acted. But Atsuko already made the decision to save his life. And she had more than a few questions for him when he woke up. The Albino Saiyan was going to make sure the Prince didn't worm his way out of it, either. He owed her that, and then some.
Well, she didn't use up all of the supplies, so she carefully replaced them in the kit and then closed it. Picking it back up as she offered it to Flare. "Thanks for that. He's a stranger with a bad attitude, but I still don't feel right about leaving him to die.", Atsuko said in a calm tone of voice, as she then took a seat next to the campfire, and dug out another bowl and spoon for herself. Using the cooking spoon, she poured a bowl of the stew for herself, and then began to eat at a relaxed pace.
It was pretty nice out here, actually. Just the sounds of the wind, and river. The Knight felt like she could meditate here. Perhaps she'd have to do that, if things settled down enough to where she could actually attempt it. Her present company was more than a little excitable. And it would be rude to Flare as well, who had been polite about everything up to this point. Honestly she wasn't even under any obligation to help the Knight, or the stubborn fool of a Prince. Atsuko pondered how to best make up for it.
As she thought that over, she reached into her pack once more, retrieving the beret she got out of that Red Ribbon base. And then she showed it to Flare. "I found this, along with those things like Jax in that underground structure. There were a lot of guns and uniforms, too. I don't know who it belongs to, but I've taken to referring to them as "Red Ribbons". If that interests you, I can show you where it's located.", Atsuko explained. Though she did need to be aware of all the dangers there. It was abandoned, and there could be more of those robots.
"I'd prefer to go with you, could be more of the mean ones in there. But if you go in alone, be careful. And... Steel yourself, it's a depressing sight.", the Albino Saiyan added. Then setting the beret back into the pack. With that, she returned to eating her meal. There wasn't much left to do at the moment. Besides share conversation with Flare, and wait for the Prince to awaken. And hopefully he'd prove to be in a better mood this time. Otherwise the Albino Saiyan would need to give him a good kick or two.
Atsuko was being awfully nice to her. Not that it was much of a bad thing, just wasn't what she expect from someone not human. Not on this level. The elemi called over the little robot again to fetch her bag before working on the dash. Jax came back over to give it to her without a word and settled the bag down with a thud before wobbling back on over to fix his mistake. She ruffled on through and pulled herself a small box with utensils, small trays, and capsules on the side. She set up shop quickly, grabbing a spork and tray to fix herself some. Not being much for manners, Flare hungrily devoured most of her bowl in one go as she started at it. In between bites she would watch the lady mend the Brat with the given supplies. Something she said caught her attention enough to stop eating before she got to the end.
"Now wait a tick, you said you LIVED up in the mountains?" It was kinda obvious why the young flame would ask the question in a surprised manner. "Don't you get fuckin' cold, 'Suko?" She pointed the spoon at her, what little stew in its concave container she didn't eat spilled on the earth beside her. She was already giving her a nickname. "I like my homes nice and warm. Extremely warm.” She laid the tray on down to take the medkit back from her. Stuffing that back into her bag Flare got some more stew and sat back down.
Whilst eating her next bowl, she eyed the hat she was being show. Frowning at first, she looked over the item with something close to a ‘That looks like something I should know’. She never came up with a name, so she settled with what Atsuko gave her. “Red Ribbons?” She slurped up some of the stew and settled down her eating for the moment. “Those things like Jax are called ‘robots’...” Flare chuckled crudely at the lack of knowledge. Finding it.. adorable. She perked up further when Atsuko came up with the last bit though. “You said there were some in underground structures? You shouldn’t even have to ask that question, 'Suko! You have MY yes! However…”
The young flame leaned closer towards the knight, staring her in the eyes. For once she looked more serious than comedically angry or estatically nerdy. “I’m looking for an old friend of mine. I’d appreciate someone else who could… help me look. Right now I’m sticking to my home… But.” She rubbed her arm as she settled the remaining stew in her tray down. “He’s been gone for a few weeks now. And where’s I’ve looked hasn’t been there. Now I’ve been looking outside of towns and cities to see if he’s just hiding. He left me nothing to follow him by." She then glanced at the pacified Athren, frowning slightly. “At least he’s out, last thing I want is a trigger-happy saiyan knowing that and just messing with me for the fun of it. I’m not really out to punch anyone’s face in, but I damn sure will if I see him or anyone else do that to MY robot again. Or Me. Mostly me.” She snorted a little and waved it off.
“Never-mind that though, I’ll go with you even if you don’t want to do that though, It’s really my problem. Besides. ANCIENT ROBOTS. YES.” She seemed excited and aggressive in tone again. Jax was coming on around to rejoin the group. He picked up his arm tiredly before plopping himself down next to Flare with a bit of a stumble. The robot seemed out of it. Probably from the blast it endured. Jax didn’t seem to be talking.
“Hey buddy, think it’s time to go into sleep mode don'tcha think?” She gave it a small pat. “You’ve been out of it all day.”
“I. Suppose. My scanners do not read the system as tired though.” Well, that didn’t sound good. The young Elemi raised her eyebrows.
“Oh, heh. Just go into sleep mode, trust me.” And just like that, the little robot retracted all his limbs to turn into small box… With a huge chunk missing due to his other arm just being there next to him instead attached. __________ WC: 725 TWC: 3256
Flare seemed quite surprised about the fact that Atsuko lived up on the mountains, which prompted the Saiyan to give out a small chuckle in response. "I used to, but you get conditioned to it. I started every morning by heading up to the top of the mountain, stripping down and then meditating.", the Knight explained. It seemed that her new companion preferred it when it was warm. To each their own! The Albino Saiyan could make due anywhere. And that was something she was willing to back up with more than words. But this was neither the time or the place for boasts.
Finally, their conversation turned to the Red Ribbon and their base. To say that Flare was ecstatic would be putting it lightly. Although... That mood did quickly fade as well. It seems that the red-haired girl was looking for someone important to her, and she wouldn't be opposed to having some help on the issue. The Knight gave a small nod in response, thinking it over for what was probably one of the fastest seconds ever recorded. "Well, I'll give whatever aid I can. Any descriptions I should keep an eye out for? I travel the world a lot."
Then Flare looked to the incapacitated Athren, and Atsuko did the same. Her words were harsh, but they did have some truth. The Knight could only nod once more. "Aye. I'm going to have more than a few words with him when he awakens. And if he keeps flaunting that pride and power of his, I'll have to beat some sense into him.", Atsuko responded. And just like that, the mood was back to being excitable again. The red-haired girl loved the idea of running into old ruins and discovering ancient technology. Well, perhaps it was a fortunate meeting then!
The Albino Saiyan smiled, feeling glad that she mentioned it to her. "Well then. Once he's taken care of, we can set off for it. If you need to leave before then, I can point you in the right direction.", she stated, obviously referring to Athren and the fact that he was still heavily injured. He'd probably be well on his way to recovery if not for the fact that he had just drained himself entirely of his energy. It was a dangerous game to play when you were beaten into an inch of your life. He'd be lucky to be alive.
And yes, she was almost certainly going to remind him of that fact. Stubborn Fool he might be, but she was more determined on that front. Well, she couldn't sit there and be mad about it all day. Seems it was time for Jax to get some rest; tough little thing. Taking even a weakened blast from the Prince like that and only losing an arm to show for it. No doubt Flare was going to fix that at some point. Or at least, that was what the Albino Saiyan assumed was going to happen.
/Stripping down and then meditating/. On the top of mountains. Well, if the saiyan hadn’t guessed it by now the fire Elemi wasn’t very keen on going anywhere cold. Yet this bold woman adopted the way of the cold. Conditioned it. No matter how much will this young flame had, there was little way she’d find herself doing that. “You’re an absolute monster.” The jest was because of that. But eventually she comes around to offer the help anyways. Despite the knight not needing to do so.
"He's a little guy, 5'3". Greying brown hair. Got a Fu Manchu. Oh, and he's got a shiny bald head. He could be wearing just about anything." As she thinks about it she goes ahead and starts working on the stew again. "Green eyes. Oldest thing about him was the eyes, how the corners of them are wrinkled from either squinting glares at people or from being wise. That's still up to debate." She just grinned and sat there for a while just eating her food. It was an easy way to appease the flame at least, food. The saiyan woman spoke on up after a while about plans for the exploration.
"Hey, I have a better idea." She interjected after Atsuko. Looking up from her stew. "Why don't you just stay here with him while I go out to town and fix him while also grabbing some supplies." The robot arm went into her lap before she would forget about it. "We can just meet back up here and go whenever we can! Ouuuu- This will be great!" Suddenly she sat the tray and spork off to the side and grabbed both the arm and jax's box form. "I'll be back in no time blondie~ Have to sauter circuits and grab some capsules to grab all the stuff in!" Flare seemed far too excited at the opportunity. Almost as soon as she came in she was already abruptly leaving, tossing the two carried items into the car as well as taking the bag she took out to set it in the passenger seat. She jumped on in after and waved ado to the woman. "In no time!" _________ WC: 370 TWC: 3626
