It was an early morning when Baalbatos rose. He'd always been an early riser, and today was no exception. He had business to attend too, and he was not going to waste anytime with it. Without checking to see who else was on board, or who else was even still sleeping, Baalbatos made for the command console of the ship. Groggily, he tapped away at the keys of the console and flicked a few switches back and forth. Slowly, the ship came to life. Carefully, he brought it into flight mode. They'd not be going far, he reasoned, so he would take it slow.
As the ship lifted gently into the air and began to flies its course, Baalbatos made for the cargo hold. He'd been planning for this day. Ever since he'd had the Earthling install the storefront on his ship, he'd been getting ready to open for business. They needed money for their ventures, and Baalbatos planned to earn that money, one way or another. And today was just the beginning.
Finally, he reached the hold. As looked around, he saw many non-descript crates that were stacked into several pillars. He rubbed his hands together as he made for the crates. Firmly, he wrapped his hands around one of the crate tops and pulled. Like a twig, the crate top gave way to his demonic strength and revealed the treasure within: cabbages. He rubbed his hands together and cracked a smile. "Perfect," he whispered, "These will sell in no time."
If Baalbatos had learned one thing in his time on Earth, it was that humans liked their produce. And what better produce to sell to humans than cabbage? It was such a diverse crop. Eat it raw, put it in a stew, bake it into rolls.... the options were limitless! And, Baalbatos reasoned, he would not need to sell many to turn a profit on them. He'd bought them from one of his contacts who claimed that the greenery had 'fallen off the back of a truck'. Baalbatos had not questioned it. Whatever made things work for him, it was good enough.
He picked up one of the cabbages and held it close to his face. "Yes," he said softly, "Perfect." Every empire had their humble beginnings, and there's would be built upon the back of produce! Baalbatos chuckled a bit. Perhaps a century or two down the line, they might call Lord Qrowen the Cabbage Emperor. An amusing though that was. With a happy sigh, he began to move the crates towards the storefront of the ship. They were not far out from their destination now.
Finally, the ship came to a stop outside Satan City. Whistling happily, the demon pressed a series of buttons on the command console and the ship began to transform. He hoped Lord Qrowen would not mind as the ship began to display the insides and their personal effects. But Baalbatos did not care: he was already starting to work to display his stock. It was time to get down to business!

It was indeed early morning when Baalbatos rose while the Kold Demon was still resting upon his chair. His eyes were closed and his arms folded on his chest while one could bet he was sleeping, he was just taking it easy for the meanwhile. Their plans were still going just as planned, slowly but they were. Although, he was expecting the pace to speed up soon. They were already done with one of their goals: find a ‘third’ person. In this case their needed Opsmaster; Agent 0.
The Android definitely knew his thing but they needed him to get stronger, or in his case, they needed to make him upgrade in one way or another. “I guess we could get someone on Kyoraas for that but at the time we can’t really afford much, not until I’m done getting our temporary base up and running.” - he thought to himself before he took note of.. movement?
Qrowen opened his eyes, glancing around as he noticed the ship was actually in flight mode. “..What is going on?” - he muttered, floating in mid-air from his chair as he let his feet rest on the ground. His first guess was that Baalbatos had decided to go for a trip of some sorts? He was pretty sure the two didn’t have anything planned or did they?
He walked out of his room, holding his hands behind his back as he took a stroll around until he entered in the cockpit, and there was no one there. “..Weird. I wonder where he’s gone to.” - he muttered, turning as he looked around for him once more, only to find him displaying.. a bunch of crates?
The Kold Demon approached him, keeping up his posture as he inquired. “Erm. Baalbatos. What are you doing?”
As Baalbatos finished getting ready to open the store, he felt the familiar energy of his Kold Demon lord draw even closer. Well, thought Baalbatos, it seems that someone was finally up and moving. Good, thought Baalbatos, he could finally see what lengths Baalbatos went to for their empire. Or, at least, the beginnings of their empire. And, he noted, perhaps it might be bad as well. The Kold Demon certainly looked the part of his kind, and he feared that the man might scare away any potential customers. Not only with his rather lizard like appearance, but with his rather wicked personality as well. The man had a way of... intimidating people.
Finally, the man arrived to the side of the ship that made up his shop. And, the first thing he asked was: what was Baalbatos up to? Baalbatos turned to face the man, and gave him a nod. "Ah, good morning, Lord Qrowen. I'm glad you could join me," he said. Baalbatos reached into one of his crates and pulled from it a single cabbage and presented it to Lord Qrowen. "This, Lord Qrowen, is a cabbage. An Earthling crop, you see," he explained, "Recently, I was able to acquire a stock of them at a rather generous price, and I thought that I might be able to turn a profit by coming down here Satan City and selling to the Earthlings."
He returned the cabbage to the crate, and moved the crate to the front, shortly after, trying to angle it in a way that would show off his merchandise. "You're more than welcome to join me here at the storefront if you would like, my lord," he said, trying to keep all signs of reluctance from his voice, "I'm sure you would like to see the money begin to roll in."
Agent 0 would slowly be strolling through the city, looking forward as a tiny bit of straw would hang from his mouth, feeling quite accomplished but also sort of empty after his assault on his old base... he needed to just cool off after all of it, in the end, and what better way to do that then to go around a city for a nice walk? It probably didn't matter but the Android was looking forward to being able to calm down and get into his own parts of his business again... he wasn't exactly rolling in money at the moment but he was looking forward to the idea of working with those fine people he met the other day with Satisdee, and how ironic would it be that he would see them again to sort of report in.
However... the way he would meet them was quite comical, as he would slowly stare at the same ship he saw before landing down and opening up into some sort of... shop... thing? It was quite unexpected but Reaper couldn't turn it down as something weird considering he wasn't exactly buddy buddy with them yet and possibly this was something normal for them. A lot of people ran shops but why was it on a ship like that? Perhaps it was just him overthinking things but he would slowly start to look at what was being displayed, the man slowing his walk to a sort of snails pace as he looked in awe. "C-Cabbages...?" he would ask himself. Why exactly were they using cabbages? Out of everything to sell for a profit, he supposed that cabbages were a thing to be grown and given at a profitable rate but out of all other produce and food why was it cabbages. He slowly snapped out of that though, and sort of walked over while looking over everything with a smirk on his face.
"Hey you two, it has been quite a long time!" the Agent would say, sort of leaning against a part of the ship to look over everything. "Nice Cabbage store you got here... can't say I am looking to buy but hey its nice to meet up again." Reaper would state to the two of them before pushing off of the wall with a sort of visible smile across his face as he looked across all the different things, walking a bit closer to both of them. "What have you been up to, I actually finally got done with my little project I left with Satisdee to go do... but aside from that, I have gotten quite a bit stronger... I'm not exactly a powerhouse yet but hey I am getting there~" he would say out, shrugging while looking down to his hand, clenching it a bit as he chuckled.
"Anyways, I guess I'd be ready to work with you both fully now.. as well as, help out with this if you want... I offer contract services of all kinds, that doesn't have to be killing, you know~" he would sort of smirk to the two of them a bit more, sort of interested with what they were doing but also just glad to see possible employers for his new future.
The Kold Demon literally stared at the Demon blankly, completely confused by what he was doing. All he knew was that it had something to do with those crates, and not even he could tell what was inside them until Baalbatos pulled out.. a cabbage? He blinked slowly, listening to him silently as the Demon indulged into an explanation. He had never thought of selling vegetables or anything else to earn a bunch of money, but he thought it couldn’t be that bad to give it a try.
“..I guess we can try this method out then. I’ll gladly join.” - he said, folding his arms on his chest. “Not like I’ve got anything better to do anyway.” - he thought to himself, clearing his throat shortly after.
He couldn’t really tell how many Earthlings would buy a.. cabbage from a bunch of aliens, or at least they were aliens to them. But well, by what he knew an Earthling could be crazy enough to buy the entire stock. “Indeed, I would love such a sight." - he told him.
All of a sudden, he heard a familiar voice; Reaper’s. The Kold Demon turned to face him and looked at him for a brief moment before he nodded and greeted him. “Ah, Agent Zero. What a pleasure to see you again.” - he stated, gesturing him to come closer.
Qrowen looked at Baalbatos for a brief moment as the Android spoke of the store, he nodded to him firmly shortly after. “I guess so, yes. But this is just a temporary measure to try out something for our Empire’s sake. Can’t tell if it’ll be worth it, but I guess we’ll find out soon.” - he said.
Then, the Android spoke of how powerful he had become and that he was willing to fully help them. “Good. We’ll need your services, especially once we get back on Kyoraas and set in motion our plans.”

In the distance, a familiar figure rose. A figure that lacked any signs of life. And there were only two people that Baalbatos knew who lacked such energy signatures. So, it was with great pleasure that he watched the figure become distinct and take the form of their new associate, Reaper. He gave a greeting as he came closer and Baalbatos raised a hand to greet him as well. "Ah, hello, friend," said the demon, "It's a pleasure to see you again. Welcome to my humble shop."
The energy-less man was quick to say he would not buy anything. Though a smile never left his face, Baalbatos was actually rather disappointed in the notion. He needed to sell these cabbages. And the sooner the better, for there was so much that he needed to do. And so much that he needed to spend money on. Empires, he was finding out, were not cheap. Perhaps he should take the time to open up a credit card in their name...
But the man spoke of getting more powerful. "Good," said Baalbatos, "You truly are an asset, then. We'll have need of such strength in time." Indeed, he thought, they really would. He just wished that he could feel the man's power and confirm it for himself. Such a bother, he thought.
"Ah," laughed Baalbatos, "I was hoping that being a cabbage salesman was in your portfolio of skills. Truly, you are quite the skilled individual."
The Kold Demon lord spoke of Kyoraas, and Baalbatos suddenly remembered something. His weekly reports had come in the night before, and he'd yet to discuss them with his lord. "Ah, my lord," he began, "Speaking of Kyoraas, do you recall that several months ago I began the process of preparing a colony and recruitment of a civilian population?"
He would give the Kold Demon a few moments to remember. "Well, sir," he continued, "I'm pleased to say that my reports indicate we've had some measure of success. A small colony is beginning to take shape on our planet, my lord. It is nothing grand, but it is more than we had before."
[I'm so sorry this took so long! I should be back on track in a couple of days though, getting around to the other threads post right after I rest a little, just been going through some stuff. Once again, sorry!]
The agent would slowly wave to the two of them as he was getting settled into the area he was in, a very light smirk on his face as he just accepted both of their greetings with a quite pleasant and happy look on his face, feeling quite happy with himself seeing the demon's unbreaking smile. However, when Qrowen gestured him to come closer, he would just shrug, walking a bit closer with his hands in his pockets, feeling around at the knife, not going to harm anybody of course, he just liked the prospect of holding onto that knife for the most part.
"Hmmm, I suppose a temporary measure like this can sprout into a full timed measure, if it goes good enough! Who knows, these cabbages could be liked all across the universe and become a produce that you can get rich on for the rest of time throughout everything out there~" it was then that the android would pull his hands out of his sleeves, giving a very calm and gentle shrug of his shoulders once more, thinking over what he would say next as he would reach into his pocket and pull out the knife to sort of mess with. "As for my abilities as an asset. Most likely sub par but hey... I'll get there some time, I just need time I suppose, which I think you all could very much help me you know?" he would just keep playing with the knife, letting it cut into his finger as he played with the two sides, one the handle and one on the blade as it made him bleed.
Once Baalbatos remarked on the cabbage thing, the Agent would blush very lightly in an embarrassed but not actually infatuated way. The kind of blush that happens when the school laughs at your performance on a stage, not fun at all to be honest. "N-No I'm not a cabbage salesman but... I give out services no matter what is entitled! Thus... I will make myself fit into such a role if need be!" the agent would say, pumping his fist as he would look down, sort of shaking as he actually had no practice selling things. He was meant to do contracts but nobody WANTED anything but kills, it was very strange. However those thoughts would break from Reapers head as he would listen to the Kold Demon. "What is this Kyoraas anyways? If you need my services back there, sure... but I still am unsure what it is aside from perhaps a base? World? What?" he would question, folding his arms while looking sort of intently towards the two.
However, soon Baalbatos would go off into telling Lord Qrowen something that made the agent sort of just listen in, not having anything to talk about it for himself but he DID hear that it seemed to be a planet, the man smirking as he wondered if he would be able to go off world for the first time in his life... it was quite interesting! "Colony on a planet eh? Well, I'm assuming you guys don't want me to kill them all so what kind of services can I offer, anyways?" he would ask, sort of getting into a more serious and intent mood as he would move over and start to section out part of the produce to be more out there, not only in crates but also arranged to be in different patterns, not really paying attention to the cabbage in a mental note, looking towards the two others still.
The three’s meeting was almost like a complete coincidence but Qrowen was looking forward to meeting the energy-less man, it had been long since their first meeting after all. They had been busy but they couldn’t stay on that ship for the rest of their time on Earth. Even if the situation they were currently in wasn’t the best for a meeting, but in the end, it didn’t really matter… unless Agent 0 hated cabbages that is. But who hated cabbages anyway?
Although it seemed Reaper wasn’t really interested in buying cabbages of any sort at the moment, that was fine he thought. Even if they wouldn’t have minded getting their first client but they could still wait for any other Earthling to approach them and begin selling cabbages as soon as possible. “That’s fine, hopefully, everything will go as planned and at least get something from this.” - he said, clearing his throat.
“I’m sure your skills will prove to be useful to us, but for now, all you can do for us is to improve your system. Something we might as well help with once we get back on our planet, but it’s not the time. Not yet.”
The Kold Demon tilted his head as Agent 0 asked about Kyoraas, didn’t he tell him about it? Apparently not but he didn’t mind to give out explanations. But then Baalbatos cut him short as he spoke of.. a colony? Excellent, he thought. It was about time their work had been giving some decent results.
Qrowen grinned behind his mask and nodded. “Good. About time, if we can continue like that we’ll probably be capable of coming up with more than just a colony. At that point, we can consider an enlargement of our activities and even an enlargement of our military forces.” - he said eagerly, holding his arms behind his back as he turned to face Reaper once more, clearing his throat slightly.
“I suppose I owe you an explanation on Kyoraas; as you’ve probably gathered already, it’s the planet we’re from. We’ve come here on Earth to finish up some of our business and look into recruiting new people. Now, your services would be covering the role of Opsmaster; the headmaster of our Empire’s Intelligence, and such covers investigations and assassinations. They can help us establish connections with other planets and gain more resources for our Empire. Simple enough, no?”
An enlargement of their activities? Good heavens, thought Baalbatos, that sounded like work. And plenty of it. Plenty of work that would be finding it's way to his desk, his data pad, chipping away at his sleep schedule, his sanity, making sure that he grew even more restless as their planet grew the same. Ah well, thought Baalbatos, he would just have to make due. Still, it took all his will not to simply sigh at the mere mention of such things.
Baalbatos listened as Qrowen expanded upon Kyoraas, nodding all the way. Now, now, thought Baalbatos, he simply did not do the planet justice. There was no mention of the fearsome Jargos, nor anything said of the lovely, rainy weather that came down upon them all the time. He hoped that the man liked cloudy skies and grey, because that is what they lived with there on Kyoraas. It certainly fit Lord Qrowen, he decided, thought Baalbatos himself could do with a little sunlight once in a while. Perhaps he could claim a little nearby planetoid as his personal vacation home, preferably something with a little sunlight and not nearly as much drabness. That would do the demon some good.
Baalbatos listened as Lord Qrowen went on, explaining what he wanted of the man. An opsmaster, thought Baalbatos, how very interesting. Such an important position, and he would want to give it to someone they had just met. It seemed that the Kold Demon lord was quick to trust. And Baalbatos could scarcely blame the man. They needed more men by their side, especially if they were going to make something out of the little rock they called home. Baalbatos just hoped that they were choosing well. Just like he had chosen well with these cabbages of his. He could practically smell the money rolling in, any minute now. Any minute now indeed, he thought as his eyes rolled out across the empty road. They were surely on their way to him right now, wallets bristling with coin so that they might partake in his leafy goods.
"Lord Qrowen," said the demon, "I'd been meaning to ask you, but I never quite had the chance: when do you wish to depart for Kyoraas once again?"
