Qrowen had been planning this for a while, most of the time he would have been on the ship which he could afford but he felt like they needed an actual building-- somewhere concrete and not just a vehicle. One more reason to miss Kyoraas, because they actually had their own buildings, services, and civilization.. just like Earth, in one way or another. Although, Kora as’ inhabitants were mostly soldiers and such.
As such, he had been looking for a place much more comfortable than a ship and he had found it, finally. He didn’t immediately tell Baalbatos about it at first, he wanted to make sure it would have worked and so he thought. “This place is by no means better than Kyoraas, but we’ll have to make it work I guess. We didn’t really come here to stay after all, and we’d be on Kyoraas sooner than what I expected. Too bad the rest of what we need is delaying to arrive but if my calculations are right, we’ll be off this planet soon. Very soon.” - he thought to himself, smirking behind his bio-mask.
The Kold Demon came out of a valley, and there it was.. their temporary hideout. It was barely something but he could tell it used to be some fancy building, too bad what remained were only its ruins but they could work with that. The main building was pretty much destroyed, except for the lower level while the pathways were also ruined-- it was a mess in a few words.
“Now if only we would have had resources and patience, I would have gladly used them to repair this place but at this point, it’s of no use. We’ll make our return to home as soon as possible, once we are done with the last things there’s literally nothing left to do for us here.” - he said to himself, glancing around as he entered the main building. “Just like last time I’ve been here.. its interior doesn’t look that bad, it’s just old and dusty.” - he said to himself.
He walked down a bunch of staircases until he seemed to reach the lowest level in the building, it was dark but there was a faint and glowing light. It looked like there was some sort of altar in the middle and four pillars on the sides. “Hehe, perfect.” - he thought to himself, looking over his datapad as he made sure that he had successfully contacted his two comrades. “Good. They’d be here anytime, and from then we can pick up on our current situation and then we’ll see.”

Contact, he thought, and from Lord Qrowen. It seemed that the Kold Demon lord had acquired a new base of operations for them, at least a temporary one. Good, thought Baalbatos, he was getting tired of people coming and going from his shop and ship so commonly. Finally, he thought, perhaps he could get some peace and quite in the ship and actually get some serious work done. He did not particularly mind having his associates and comrades around, but they certainly made getting work down harder. He liked to have his space and privacy when he worked. It was just a habit, he thought, but one that he could not help but try to indulge.
Baalbatos left his ship, cloaked in red and wearing his weights, and began to fly towards the coordinates provided by the Kold Demon. It was not going to be a long flight, it seemed, as the location was still well within the eastern part of the world. How very nice, thought Baalbatos, and here he feared he was going to have circumvent the globe to reach the Kold Demon. It was not long before Baalbatos was high overhead and he saw their new place: ruins, he thought. Nothing but ruins. Lord Qrowen should let him handle the real estate, thought Baalbatos, or at least let him find their next real estate agent. But, he thought, beggars could not be choosers. And maybe he could get the place fixed up. Finding contractors would not be hard here on Earth. He'd have to run the idea by Lord Qrowen, see if he wanted anything specific done. But, for now, he'd wasted enough time. He descended, and made for the interior of the base.
Which was actually much more impressive than the outside of it, though he supposed his standards might just be low. Baalbatos could feel Lord Qrowen's energy within, deep below. It seemed that the lizard man could not choose, or did not think to choose, an easier meeting place for them. With a sigh, Baalbatos followed after the energy signature, down the flights of stairs. And he looked about him as he did. Certainly, he thought, the place was further along technologically than he'd guessed from the outside. But it could still use a touch of redecorating, perhaps some cleaning as well. He'd have to work on that, he thought, ut he still wondered how Qrowen had found this place.
Before long, he reached the bottom of the base. And finally, he was on level with Lord Qrowen's signature. He looked about the floor, and finally found the Kold Demon before long. "Greetings Lord Qrowen," he said, "Nice place we have here. Though, I think we could do better..."
Agent Zero was just minding his own business like usual, before he got a little contact on his visor as he would stop. He was actually wearing his combat suit for once in a long time, his training enhancing skin-suit underneath that would make it a bit harder to move but he felt comfortable with it nonetheless for the time being. His visor was mostly off in terms of the shine but the inside of it was on to allow incoming contracts that would be routed to his headset, and to be saved for him to look into later. However this one was more interesting to him... at this point the Agent had to believe somewhat that the group that he had met some time back now, was actually very much infatuated with the idea of working with him. As Lord Qrowen had actually contacted him to ask him to come to some sort of base... its coordinates made him sort of think on it but in the end he decided it couldn't hurt anybody.
With that, he would turn on his entire suits vital systems, making the visor glow a deep blue color as he would slowly propel himself into the sky with his boots, before jettisoning himself over to the coordinates at a regular pace as he would slowly look over everything, the visor bleeping as it read the power of two signatures that he had come to sort of recognize at this point. Especially when one of the two races on his internal scanner showed up as a Kold Demon, like what Lord Qrowen himself was. It really was quite interesting to be working with such people, and that they let him in on their little operations made it all the more sweet for his own reputation and self esteem. He would chuckle, slowly starting to drop down with his flight boots until he landed on the outskirts, looking into the desolate ruins as he would roll his shoulders, feeling how restricted he was by the heavy weights but how he was still much stronger than he was when he first met them... even wearing the restrictive suit he was a lot stronger.
"This place looks like a hellhole... I wonder why he picked here..." was all that Reaper would mumble to himself under his breath before starting to make his way down to where his internal scanners were tracking the two energy signatures. He silently wondered what fascination he gave to them... or if his skills alone were what they wanted because of his lack of energy to give off due to the little operations that they did on him back in the day before he could remember. It was quite an interesting skill but it didn't stop scanners or scouters from picking up his power so he was weak against that, it was just a matter of who could only sense with their mind. However, it would only take a couple minutes before he was down there with the other two, walking over near Qrowen while he was still wearing his suit, keeping it on for the time being as he didn't think he needed to take it off for these times. His voice would come through in a radio like manner in how it was projected, due to the helmet itself having to cycle his voice to get it out at normal volume. "Lord Qrowen, Baalbatos... I'm glad you contacted me." it was hard to convey emotions due to his helmet and bright blue visor blocking out his face, so he had to convey most things with the use of hand signals. "But uh... whats with the giant ruins anyways? Isn't it sort of... no offense of course... run down?" he didn't want to make any of them mad or anything, but he had to convey his thoughts on all this too right?
Qrowen stood there, holding his datapad as he waited for the two’s arrival. The thought of taking a step further in their plans was exciting but unfortunately they were nowhere ready to go back on Kyoraas but they would be soon enough. He took one more look at the basement, while it was not that good, it was still better than staying on a ship but it was probably a matter of tastes. In the end, he didn’t mind if the place was old and dusty, especially since there was some good progress within their plans.
All of a sudden, he heard footsteps coming from the stairs. Good, he thought, one of them was already there. At least there were no slackers in his Empire, else it would have been quite an issue to deal with them. “I wonder if they have some good news themselves..” - he mumbled under his breath, from behind his bio-mask.
And there he was, Baalbatos; his most loyal ally. It’d be about time for the Demon to receive the reward, but they’d see about that on Kyoraas. “Well, well. Baalbatos. Good to see you here so soon.” - he stated, before letting out a faint chuckle at his next statement. “Yes, that is indeed true. But there are reasons if I’ve picked this place.” - he told him but he was going to wait for Agent Zero to arrive beforehand.
Speaking of, he was there already. Pretty good, he thought. He knew he could trust those two, more than others. He glanced at him carefully, taking note of his fancy armor, cracking a grin behind his mask. “What a fascinating piece of art, Reaper. But yes, greetings.” - he said, clearing his throat shortly after.
He took a few steps towards the center, holding his arms behind his back as he spoke. “No need to apologize, by no means I wanted to sweeten it up. I’ll be honest with you, I have no idea of its origins. But it was probably a piece of art worthy of a great architect, although I have not chosen this place for its.. lost design, we could say.” - he placed a hand on one of the pillars, and in a matter of seconds the pillar lightened up and blue strings began to spread around the room, creating a fashionable contrast of black and blue.
A holographic map of the Solar System suddenly showed up from the middle, anyone who would be knowledgeable in such things could tell it was pretty recent. “As you can see, whoever made this place left some interesting technology behind. It’s nothing compared to the one we have on Kyoraas but we can work with this. Although, the map itself was actually outdated. All I did was uploading up-to-date data into the system’s database. From this map we can see even further from this System, it includes our planet as well... but it’s hidden. You never know, someone might find this place after we leave. This base’s defense system is operational; cannons and such should be working properly while the shield generators work just as fine.” - he paused briefly, giving them a break to assimilate all of that information and express their thoughts.
“Unfortunately, I’ve yet to manage a holographic training room to work properly here. Perhaps you can give it a try, Baalbatos. For now, I’ve planted a shield generator in the only remaining sparring room and strengthened the structure with a tougher material, so it can handle our power without breaking too easily. In the end, it was really cheap considering how much I could have spent. Thankfully I just had to repair the cannons and a few more things, but this basement was already functioning when I found this place.” - he touched the pillar once more, the map fading away before a holographic table and a few chairs appeared out of nowhere. “So, questions before we get down to business?” - he asked, taking a seat.
It was not long before their resident ki-less man had arrived, Reaper. Baalbatos raised a hand in greeting as he saw him in all his electronic glory. And racked a small smile as it turned out that the two of them were of a mind on the state of their new real estate. While Baalbatos supposed that so long as it worked, it would do well enough, Baalbatos did like for things to look good. Form over function, thought Baalbatos, is all well and good, but they were in the midst of forging a new nation. Looks were just as important as function, if only to impress people, make a show of their strength. He did not want people to look at something like this and laugh at them as if they were paupers. And there were people who would. Baalbatos could only imagine the shame of it if someone like the Demon Queen were to see the state that they were in. It was embarrassing.
The Kold Demon had claimed he had his reasons. Well, thought Baalbatos, he would like to see him. Whatever his reasons were, they better be well worth it; If they were going to stay here for long, Baalbatos would need good reasons before he invested any time into fixing the place up.
The Kold Demon admitted it was a bit trashy. But he spoke of its probable great origins. Yes, thought Baalbatos, he could see that. But origins were not everything, the demon knew that much well enough. He only needed to look at himself to be reminded of that. From nasty, little spawn of Makaii to the man he is today, no, origins did not matter. The current state of things were more important.
Before long, however, the Kold Demon revealed a holographic map of the solar system. Well, Baalbatos noted, that was a surprise. It was even current. The demon had spent plenty of time pouring over such star charts, especially during their trip to Earth, so he knew well enough how the planets fell. The Kold Demon revealed that he had updated the map. And he'd even included Kyoraas in the data. Well, thought Baalbatos, that was all well and good. But his lord spoke of leaving one day, and how he'd hidden it within for when they should. Baalbatos considered the thought with amusement. It seemed a waste of time to him. They could simply wipe the machine's memory banks clean instead when they left. It would be a much simpler task. But Baalbatos said nothing and his small smile never left his face all the while.
And, thought Baalbatos, the defense systems were online. Good, thought Baalbatos, he'd have to look at them later and make sure that they were truly operating at optimal capacity. It was not that he did not trust the Kold Demon. No, he simply preferred to see things for himself. He'd have to check out these cannons as well. And, he thought, look into getting a holographic training room set up. Another task, thought Baalbatos, and one that would not be particularly difficult, just expensive. But, he thought he could acquire the funds in short order.
Lord Qrowen asked if they had anything to say. And suddenly, a rather demonic thought came to mind. Baalbatos rose a hand and cleared his throat. "Ah, yes. I have something to say, my lord," spoke the demon, "Recently, I ran into another of my kind. He claimed to represent the new demon queen in Makaii. I explained our cause to him, and he claimed that the Demon Queen might be interested in meeting us. In the Demon Realm, of course."
Baalbatos paused for a moment. "I advise that we do go forward with this meeting, my lord. Making an ally out of someone who can rule in Makaii would be a great asset to us," explained the lilac skinned demon, his voice very serious. "If you desire to make such a meeting happen, sir, I believe that I can arrange for us to travel to Makaii. Such travel would require the assistance of a magical gateway. However, I believe I am close to figuring out how to open one."
Reaper would just sort of look down at his suit with what Qrowen was saying, his hand twitching a bit as he would shake his head. "This thing... its an old piece of junk at this point. I look forward to remodeling it... when I get some more money and work if you understand. Development..." the agent would just chuckle very lightly, dusting off his suit a bit as there was bound to be signs of it being old and dirty from how many missions he took it on... this was his first suit, how could he let it go so lightly, he would probably keep it he just needed something new as well. The man would just smile a bit more, snapping out of it when Qrowen cleared his throat as Reaper would just slightly follow behind the Kold Demon as they walked. However within moments, the android would just shake his head.
"Even then... any piece of art withers down into obscurity if not given proper care.. this place seems like one of those things... whatever its origins may be. But I am excited to see whatever this other reason is, in a sense. It has me intrigued cause I can't see anybody taking up this place with how it looks right now..." but it seemed that Reaper would learn that very soon, seeing the Kold Demon touch the pillar that changed in such a pretty way, the Agent cracking a smile as he stared through the visor, wide eyed in a way as he stared up towards it with a lot of intrigue. Even if this place was in ruins... whatever was making up what he was staring at just made it all the better. But of course, that wasn't all that was there, as the Agent would stare over the solar system map that showed up, chuckling a lot as he looked through each thing. He didn't know much about the solar system but the abilities of this map were quite interesting.
Reaper of course would just sit back and listen to the kold demon however, crossing his arms as he stared down at the map and just intently kept each word in his mind. "I see... so your home, Kyroaas as you keep calling it... is quite technologically advanced huh? If this is nothing compared to it but still... if we can work with this, I am happy for now. Anyways, you uploaded a modern map huh? Didn't think personally you would be one into mapping out things... shows me a thing or two, but either way... that is quite cool for a skill" the boy would then just stare down at the map while rubbing the back of his helmet, shooting his vision around to check each part of the map with increasing amounts of care.
"Cannons and such will probably do nothing against stronger people... so yeah, making sure this... Kyoraas place isn't on this... probably for the best so people can't find you all. Well, either way... I guess if its still included that's cool..." the mechanized soldier would slowly step a bit away, still crossing his arms as he would look over to Qrowen once more. Watching the map fade away, chairs rising out of seemingly nowhere as Reaper would sit back on one of them. He didn't know much to say to respond to the Kold Demon's next words... but, it seemed that the other man definitely had something or other to say. With that, Reaper would just look on over to Baalbatos with a smirk behind his visor, the visor no longer glowing so as to not be annoying but it was still sort of blocking off sight of his face. But either way, he was still staring deep at the demon, intently listening to his words.
"The Demon Queen huh? Sounds a little risky but... I like it! Everyone can use a little risk in their lives... but going to a demon realm. No can do friends... I am keeping my boots planted in my corner of the galaxy... for now. Perhaps I'll leave when we go to this... Kyoraas... but... until then, I am staying here, hell I might even watch over this place while you guys are off doing that, if you two do actually DO that..." the agent would then just pull off his helmet, shaking out his white hair as he would look towards the two of them a bit more. "Anyways... whats this about a... holographic training room? I mean.. I need to grow stronger and I understand if it isn't set up yet but whenever it is... I definitely would like to be apart of.. well... that! I need progression... I can tell my output strength isn't at max and... I guess... I want to get to that point" the agent would clench his fist before shaking his head. His weighted clothing however made it harder to do this... as he would slowly look towards the ground with a smile on his face. He was progressing... even if it was a bit slow.
Reaper didn’t seem to give too much credit to his suit but he could imagine he was probably attached to it, else why would he keep it? He could probably try to arrange a better suit for him, or even better arrange a complete reconstruction of the Android’s body but it was not a pressing matter yet; for the moment, he needed both of them stronger than ever and at that point the three would have moved on to the next step. “I guess you’re indeed right. But, life itself withers down into a dark abyss after some time, doesn’t it? Although, some can deceive death… and end up doing nothing more but envelop more people in their spiral of death.” - he said, letting out a sharp exhale.
The Android questioned on how advanced was their homeworld and that was indeed true, most planets had better technology than Humans for years. Although, the Earthlings were a capable race and could definitely come up with some smart tricks. “Indeed, who knows… perhaps we might get our scientists to take a look at your body more thoroughly, so we can do something to amplify your power output.” - he told him before turning to face Baalbatos as he spoke up.
Another one of his kind? A Demon? And even more… the Demon Queen? Qrowen frowned and folded his arms on his chest, looking down as he considered the offer. A meeting with the Demon Queen would definitely be an interesting event, one to not miss in one’s life. Although, first the Kold Demon would have had to meet the person Baalbatos spoke with, to establish details and such and to truly see if the Queen would be interested. But he knew that if the Queen and the Lord could come out of this meeting as allies, that’d be advantageous for both. “I see, Baalbatos. I commend you, and your luck in meeting with this Demon. As you can imagine, this is something I’d rather reflect on but missing such a chance would be a shame. If this servant can truly arrange a meeting, then I guess we’ll get to spend some time in the Demon Realm. Almost an honor, if you’d let me say, at least I might like it better than this peaceful planet.” - he told him, nodding shortly after before he looked at Reaper.
“Not to worry, feel free to stay behind. We’ll come back and then we shall depart to Kyoraas as soon as we can. Before we go, I might as well simply take the holographic map’s chip away. For now our planet is hidden just in case someone else comes in these days we stay here. I’d rather be cautious for now.” - he told him before he stood up and nodded once more, holding his arms behind his back.
“It’s true, we need to get stronger… all of us. I need you stronger as well, Agent. Let’s see… to the point you’d be capable of dealing with that Majin friend of yours, and I remind you I had to turn into my third form-- which I have never used in my lifetime. The only forms I tend to use is this one and my second form, even if I don’t like it that much.”
The Kold Demon took a deep breath and stared at the two blankly before he set his eyes on Baalbatos. “If you truly can open a magical gateway to Makaii, then you have my permission. I can’t wait to meet this Demon Queen, although I believe we’ll have to meet with this servant of hers beforehand. We wouldn’t want to bother her after all.” - he said, clearing his throat slightly. “Since you seem to be eager to get stronger, Reaper. How about we go check out the training rooms? I’d be interested in seeing a full display of your skills in a spar against Baalbatos, and perhaps myself if I feel like joining his side in a spar against you.”
