[Thread PL: 398,925]
Komatsu had waited far too long to further his training. It felt like it had been months since his agreement with Jarvis already, and still the young saiyan warrior didn't even come close to walking into the time chamber. There were so many issues that had needed his attention before he could go into it... issues with the Alliance, with the outpost and most of all with his sister. It wasn't until recently that the two had been able to talk to one another without fighting. It was a nice change, and a good time to do this. Thankfully he hadn't gone in any sooner than this... while he would be able to hone his skills there, who knows how long he would have to wait for Jarvis to call on him... for those skills to get rusty.
A sigh escaped the saiyan's lips as he stood in front of what looked like a regular old door. This was it... this was the door his sister had told him lead to a completely different dimension. She had given him a quick rundown of how things worked there and it was honestly a little intimidating. A whole year, in just one day? It was a lot to commit to in his mind. He hoped he had made the right choice by asking the earthling Flare to come into the chamber with him instead of Jie Shan. On one hand, he found he got along with Flare a lot better, her hot temper only matched his own and while the two seemed to push one another to become better, neither had a bad history. Compared to Jie Shan... while their history wasn't bad per se, Komatsu was more than a little intimidated by the Alliance's counselor. Jie was smart, much smarter than he was... and he was strong too. Sure Komatsu had surpassed him in strength as of late, but he was sure the hybrid would waste no time in catching up to him once more.
"You ready?" A female voice asked him. It was Kyuri, his grandmother. She had accompanied the pair up to the lookout, intending on seeing them off into the chamber when they left, and to be there when they came back out. She was nervous... this was something she truly didn't understand! She was sending her grandson into a separate dimension with no way to ensure he would be safe. What if something went wrong? Would they be able to tell or go in to save them? She doubted it... She would be leaving Komatsu completely alone. Well, alone with Flare.
"Yeah. I am. It's going to be fine grandma, we're going to come back stronger than ever, and Jarvis isn't going to stand a chance. Stay here and wait for us alright? Yasai and Satsu are more than good enough to look after the outpost while we're gone. You should... talk to Kimiko." He instructed, sharing a bit of an awkward gaze with the older woman before she smiled and nodded her approval of the idea. Komatsu would then turn to face Flare.
"What about you? Ready?" He asked just as he stepped forward, hand on the door and ready to push it open the moment Flare confirmed that she was indeed ready to face this challenge alongside him.
WC: 553 Flare -Feel free to react to the inside of the room on your post if you want -
It had been decided. She had been pushed again by the likes of forces that were beyond her control… Jarvis… That wretched fool apparently didn’t think stealing away her blooming lover was enough of a cruel punishment for her ‘insulting’. He made it personal right then and there… So now it was far beyond that. The god king wanted her as a toy for some celebration as well and was coming for her. This eerie feeling of darkness and evil that Shizen also gave off… A culmination of emotion had welled up again back at the manor, but the others had her well in check and she was able to control her emotion in time. They did not have the time left to stall around it seemed… And if there was something that could help her now, this was apparently her way out. This… chamber that Komatsu spoke of prior. They were to embark on a journey that would take a year from their perspective. That was if she were to take what he said with some trust.
In any case, Komatsu alongside his grandmother showed Flare and her own the ways up towards the lookout. The young flame would be lying if she said she didn’t find the place outlandish. Was that the point of it? She had never been up here, actually. So many familiar powers came from on this half-sphere platform. Atsuko, that Chris kid, another Saiyan she recognized by trace of him using that great ape form during Komatsu’s own rampage around that Citadel. Apparently Tabitha could feel the familiarities too. Those old eyes of her seemed to just tell she knew people around the place. Beforehand she made contact with the Kami in order to make sure she knew they were coming and what for. Sure enough, it seemed it was allowed for such a reason.
How was it going to be, spending an entire year inside with a Saiyan boy she was not exactly close with? It seemed rather urgent but hesitant in the same regard to letting Flare be the one beside him in training inside. This was a lot more dedication than any single thing she really put effort into this. As much as the two didn’t just yell at eachother at a constant basis they really don’t have much to speak on besides their commonality in dilemma. Maybe… that was all they needed? Flare would hope for that so. Settling down atop the Lookout and giving a bit of a scan about the area before just following along behind Koma towards this fabled door was like trying to say goodbye to her planet. Her home. It was an entirely new world whatever lied ahead of them both.
"Are you sure you’ll be okay dear?" The party had all made it to the pearly gates. Like Kyuri, Tabitha was to see off her young flame and await her return. It would be even harder on Flare who will have it a much longer time than a mere one day Auntie will go through. "You can still just go back home and train like you were." She seemed persistent. If not nervous for her little girl. Flare just sighed and decided to hug the old coot another time before she would head off.
"We’ll be fine Auntie. With these weights and the ability to train for nearly a year with them, this will do me wonders… We will be out and ready to kick butt in no time." And after another break Flare’d wave her off and turn to Komatsu as he questioned her preparedness as well. She took a moment to adjust the bracelets and the like and nodded with a smirk. Of course she was. She was ready for anything at this point. "As ready as I can be. Let’s do this."
The inside, as Koma pushed the doors in, looked to be a small living space at first. Beds off to their immediate right, a dining area to their left. The architecture something from old that opened up in front of them to a small patio and an empty expanse of white after that. She took a careful moment to look inside before actually managing a step in. It definitely had the feel going for it. The young flame couldn’t tell why exactly but the moment she stepped in some form of pressure built up around her… Was it gravity? Air pressure? Air Makeup? Well... Whatever it is, it definitely was a different atmosphere for sure. The look of intrigue then covered her face as she took more in.
"This is so crazy, it really is another dimension of sorts. Looks bigger on the inside than out sort of deal as well. Are we safe training to any limit in here?" Flare hadn’t gotten every single detail from Komatsu, so it was best to ask now before they decided to do anything… Actually stepping inside and feeling the effects as well as seeing it herself really made her curiosity spike. What harm’s there to that, they both had time for some things anyways in here. If that time dilation were to be true. "The way this works seems beyond me… I would so like to replicate time dilation through layman’s means, if that were a possibility. So many interesting ways that could be used. Like what we're doing in here. Maybe even speed up the likes of medical procedures. Or reduce the need to fly or go by ship to places.-" She was maybe a little too into it… The fire elemi had to catch herself with a breath of fresh, dense air before she rambled on for too much. She waited for Komatsu to actually come in and join her before she proceeded.
Flare went on ahead after that, further into the chamber and stepped out off the patio with a careful step on the white flooring underneath. Solid. The air seemed to get even more dense and compacted once she started to notice more about the surroundings. Like the frickin two giant ass hourglasses on the outsides of their small living quarters. Flare gave them a look over a good few moments before deciding to jump rather largely back into the little home they’d be in for a while.
"And for some reason there’s two hourglasses out there. I tell you it’s at least getting the theme down right."

Komatsu pushed the door to the Hyperbolic time chamber open, stepping inside and leaving it open for Flare. She just burst ahead of him, looking around at every corner of the room, taking in it's every aspect and running out into the white voide that seemed to be the entierty of this dimension. It was indeed such a strange place... This little home seemed to have everything they needed, beds, a working bathroom, refrigerator and food, all of the essentials. At first he thought he may have opened the wrong door as this room seemed just like any other in the lookout. If it wasn't for the white void Flare had run out into of course...
He began walking out into the vast whiteness whenever Flare came running back, talking about two large hour glasses located just outside. Stepping out into the void himself, he would turn to face their little home for the next year and raise an eyebrow at the large hourglasses. Atsuko had mentioned that there would be something in here to let them know when their year was up but he didn't exactly expect this. It was rather impressive... he only hoped they didn't break it. They'd have to go out pretty far to make sure it remained intact.
With that though the saiyan would turn to look at Flare once more, a smirk appearing on his lips as everything truly started to set in.
"They're there to remind us of how long we have in here. When they run out, the door will open again. Now, what do you say we start this year off with a bang? We'll have plenty of time to rest up if we over do it. I'm excited to test this place's limits out!" He would say, though didn't wait for her to answer. Whether she decided to start her training right away or not was her decision. One way or another, Komatsu would at least start his.
He would fly out into the white emptiness of the hyperbolic time chamber, looking around himself to see if any other buildings like the one they came through would pop up... but nothing. It really was just... empty. There was a slight increase in pressure here but otherwise, there was nothing special... nothing that would enhance you like a good set of weights or a gravity chamber. This place would force you to get better off of your own skill.
This made him smirk widely. This, he needed to test.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" He stopped flying as he begun to call upon all of his energy, immediately jumping into his super saiyan 2 form. His energy would rage wildly around him, arcs of lightning dancing around his body as he drew more and more power to himself. Normally, the ground around him would have shook and broken apart underneath the pressure, but this place didn't seem to react to it at all...He even tried to push his limits, trying to force himself into a state beyond the Super Saiyan 2! Although, simply by screaming and willing it to happen... nothing did happen. Instead his power level stabilized and Koma took a deep breath.
This was his current limit, beyond using his golden ape transformation... this was really the best he could do. While it was great against someone like Flare, it wouldn't hold a candle to Jarvis... he needed something more. Something in his gut told him that if he worked hard enough for it, this next year would prove fruitful...
If what Komatsu said was true, one would think it be a bit much for its size… Then again, they’d probably be a little out towards the void for hours at a time. Having something easy to see on the outside was probably intentional. Some food for thought, the saiyan boy wanted to start off this coming year with a bang. He wanted to get out and just see how durable the place was. Flare wasn’t going to start out so hard, and maybe letting Koma spend some of his energy now would make sparring a more even prospect. Spend energy he shall. Taking a distant look out at the saiyan and his transformation into a higher state of super saiyan made her feel the weaker of the two, definitely. She did good to come near half of that strength when she was putting all her strength into the transformation. Komatsu still had that golden ape form that seemed stronger still; If only it were possible for the him to actually try it out here in this empty expanse.
With a push of her wrists Flare activated the new weights on her person to make this already dense atmosphere hunker down harder onto her. She took a moment to readjust herself before joining Koma in transforming. Much less painful and loud than his own, the fire elemi’s hair flickered into life and turned to flame. Her eyes that familiar tint of red. Unlike her previous transformations into the state though no other fire circled around her person or bounced around the ground and air near here. The heat she generated was concentrated more on her and less off it radiated. It was a more calm transformation now it would seem. This calm being new to her still she tried not to even push herself past it. It wasn’t like if she could similar to a saiyan or that she was strong enough to... After a deep breath and the required time to freely move in the weights with less resistance she soared up into the air away from Koma.

“You know. You’d think they would fill the place with training equipment and more things akin to a gravity machine. A year within one of those would be incredibly useful by itself… At least with these I can somewhat make up for it. A whole year would do me well in any sort of weighted environment.” The young flame shouted out towards Koma. She would keep her distance for the moment and… do stretches in the air. Rather dramatically. Limber up, then start blasting the crap out of the place seemed like a nice way to go about starting their training. Slowly she will turn herself upwards to start aiming her front up into the skies of the white void and with a bit of concentration flames would start building up in the palms of her hands. With restrains severe on her like this, it wouldn’t feel nearly as strong as it could have been… But that was part of the training. Adrenaline started pumping, she could not help but start laughing cheerfully.
“HAH! ALRIGHT, LET’S PARTY!” Flare’d yell out gleefully and keep the charge held there for the moment, the sudden excitement getting to her for the moment. It was something she’d need later; She was going to be here a while. Stamina: 0/3

The look on Komatsu's face was one that hadn't been seen in a long time, ever since his battle in the Arena against Jie Shan actually! It was real excitement! A battle where the two combatants could really give it their all! Sure Flare was weighed down by the weights but that didn't mean she wouldn't give it everything she had! It excited him that this was a battle that had no consequences. This wasn't good vs evil, Earthlings vs saiyans, hell it wasn't the fight for his life! This, would be for the love of fighting. At least, for him it would.
He would listen to Flare's burst of excitement, no doubt spurred from his own excitement to push his limits, listen to her mention that Atsuko could have put something in here to train with... but he didn't care. He didn't need anything materialistic to train! He had himself, and his own skill! He ended up laughing when Flare did, unable to hold that back as she spoke, charging up her own attack, to which Komatsu just held his arms wide open for the girl.
"If you can hit me with that, I'll be the one to do our dishes for a month!" He would call out to her with a cheeky smirk, staying in his position in the air with his arms wide open. He had every intention to avoid it, though this time it wasn't to be a dick. Today was his challenge to her! The next few days? Well, then he'd be working on her speed and endurance... forcing her to hunt him down and attempt to strike him at least once...
He had to get his head out of trainer mode for this though! He wasn't here to train her, he was here to test the limits of this chamber... Actually, since that was the point... why not push things a little bit? He wouldn't aim this at Flare, but damn he was going to pour every ounce of energy he had to test the chamber.
The lightning around him began to screen loudly as the bolts would grow in size, the energy around him too would double in size as he would slowly begin to charge what would be a literal bomb.
Well, it was a different pace to have both of them excited over being stuck in a different realm for an entire year. To hit it off, the Saiyan would try Flare each day to try and hit him with anything she had. She kept the weights on for her time being there… So the next few days would prove hard. A saiyan who would do the dishes with the amount of food they ate from reputation (she also ate quite a bit, so that's even better) was motivation enough to try. Even though she would see to it failing every time. For the countless hours of finding and chasing she put into it for the life of her she couldn’t come to actually put a scratch on him. She even tried being sneaky with it a few times and hit him while they were taking their much needed breaks in between… No, it would take a while for her to build up the ability to do that all.
Strain testing the chamber itself seemed to go over well. Nothing either of them threw at the white voids of this place did visible damage. Most of it just seemed to vanish, actually. The living quarters were able to stand up against them throwing stuff from a distance but they both decided it best to avoid attacking that directly. That would be something they didn’t want to stress test to the same degree. No telling what’d happen if they blew that door up, or the hour glasses. Being trapped any longer than what they were suppose to be in here for seemed detrimental. With no telling if they could ever possibly make way out in that case.
The living space was MUCH more humble than what she was used to dealing with. A bed a third the size of her own, no room for television or anything to relax around, and such a small tub for plain baths. The food was nice and plenty, yet not to gourmet quality like she had been raised on. It’ll be a complaint for a few days to come but that eventually subsides as she sucks it up and deals with it. Even though she was taking this training seriously, and her sob story really did afflict her with nightmares and strong emotions alike the girl still has had a pampered life in contrast to the saiyan.
What Flare would want in this training over the months to come, ultimately, is to actually eventually hit the sap in his highest form. Weighed down. The long prospect of training without any equipment other than the weights she brought just made her question more the reason why there wasn't more to do with a gravity machine or some advanced weights inside. Indeed, if it could benefit her in any regard and if she could afford to have done so a gravity machine in here would still have helped her greatly. A year of training condensed into a day was one thing. That, then amplified by weights and the use of a gravity machine? It would be phenomenal.

Koma couldn't help but continue laughing as Flare charged up her attack to it's absolute maximum. As it stood, even without her weights there was no way in hell she would hit him, they had proved that during their earlier training session. However, going all out like this was a great incentive for her. She now had a goal that wasn't just "Get Shizen back". Her goal was to catch him at any cost. Of course that led to many sleepless nights over the next month as Flare tried to catch him off guard even when he slept!
Those sneaky tricks wouldn't work on him, having grown up in a prison cell he'd become quite attuned to the sounds and movements of others around him, and Flare naturally just gave off this subtle heat that was like a large signal beacon to the young saiyan. Well, at least she proved to have the motivation for this!
The next month was spent in an endless game of tag. Flare would chase Komatsu relentlessly, trying to hit him either physically or with her barrage of flaming ki. Nothing worked, though over time she was getting faster. He could only guess at how fast she would become if she were to take those weights off! As fast as Flare was becoming, Komatsu had to become faster... yes he had to train her, but he was also here to better himself.
Whenever he originally pushed himself into his Super Saiyan 2 state he decided he wouldn't get out of it for as long as he possibly could. He remained in the Super saiyan form specifically so he could push the limits of his every transformation. He had said that training in your base form was best... and of course he would return to it at some point during the year... but this first month, perhaps even 2 or 3 would be spent burning himself out. He wanted to expend every ounce of energy he had, so that he could learn to summon even more energy when it seemed all was lost.
It was harder to expend his energy than he thought however, as every day he fought with Flare, only a small portion of his energy was expended. It wasn’t until the end of their first month that Komatsu had flown off on his own to do a bit of solo training. There, he was able to work hard and really push his limits. It only took him a matter of hours at that point to use up all of his energy.
To Flare it would no doubt feel strange as his energy would grow smaller and smaller, as all of a sudden his power seemed to explode once more, raising even higher than the limit he had displayed on their first day. She could no doubt even hear him shouting off in the distance as Komatsu somehow managed to push himself into a strange new form, out of Flare’s sight.
It had taken a lot of inner conflict, anger, rage and a mixture of other emotions, but he did it… he’d finally ascended into A Super Saiyan Th… What had he done exactly? As he looked at his body, the features were nothing like that of a Super Saiyan 3… in fact it almost looked like he was in his golden great ape form, though still the same size as he normally was? Hell even his tail was golden… his arms and chest covered in a golden fur.
‘What… is this…’ He would think to himself in confusion. He had felt a great power inside of him before, and he was determined to surpass a Super Saiyan 3… but this wasn’t it… it felt… off, broken… like he was caught in the middle of a transformation… still, it provided extra strength he didn’t have before…
This just proved to the young saiyan that there was something more to be achieved, and if he continued to work hard on his own, he could get to it... WC: 677 TWC: 2,198

The game of tag between the two was heated, to say the least. In similarity to the saiyan with her Flare had decided to stay in her highest form as much as possible to see how far she could go in sustaining it… but, much unlike her counterpart, she was worn out in almost any encounter they had with each other. Each day taxed her in trying to stay in her super elemi form and at first she couldn’t keep it up the full day… Her speed had increased and eventually caught up with her usual form’s base speed outside of the weights and weird atmosphere inside here. This game had started becoming less tuckered out by the chase. Over the month she finally managed to prolong it by managing herself and her energy output better. Endurance at such a high level would improve her ability in the form, just as with any other. It wasn’t on the same level of expertise… Not yet, she still had far to go in order for that to work. The game had kept her on her feet while they did it but once Komatsu was off on his own she had a floor for herself to train. Weighted, she had some time to even better go at this than when she was constantly worn out.
Motivation? Judging by this… spike of power that she felt in the chamber just recently… Komatsu had changed again? It felt different from the super saiyan three that Flare had known the saiyans to eventually go unto. The young flame had to take a look over this form; the kid almost looked like an giant ape, full in form, if it were still humanoid sized. Some of his fleshtones still showed that he also wasn’t full on fur either. It held the glow of a super saiyan as well… Was that what he got for the culmination of his rage and anger? Just how many damned forms did a Saiyan have under their belts? Koma had just increased the gap between them even further, Flare having little to follow up with after the fact. Elemi weren’t exactly common folk, better yet known as prestigious strong fighters like the Saiyans. Besides what she saw, there could be nothing left to obtain. Her own rage and emotions hadn’t allowed her anything new in their time here… was it just not enough? Well, now she HAD to try more for herself. Being off on her own lonesome for a few months to train independent was going to be the best way for he to control the form fully.
Sure enough, with time and less stress this super elemi form had been prolonged on the weekly level. It was almost natural to her at a point… but something didn’t feel perfected about it. This sudden feeling of a hole when using the form ate her on the inside. Was that a sign that she could go further? Was she now just able to push herself to it like Koma? Given time and effort… She tried fueling her ever given rage and emotion into her already honed form with little results. It just accomplished in yelling, sending flames every which way, and heating the surroundings to uncomfortable temperatures. A disappointment, as every time she would try within a week or so of each other yielded the same results. This would tend to frustrate her at every attempt bu she didn’t bother overtly with it besides a few days she devoted to it. Flare just wasn’t up to standing or maybe wasn’t destined to even go any further.
One night, during a well deserved slumber, Flare felt herself fall into another dream… her usual nightmares have vanished over the days spent in the chamber. It was a good therapy in that way, but this one was different. It started just like those nightmares of she thought she had left behind months ago. Out in a familiar starry-skied field of grass and surrounding trees. Rolling hills. The main attraction being that peak, large hill in the center of it all. Atop it stood shadows of old friends and lost ones last time… But now it was just the glowing form of a familiar face. Her flames, personified into a being that called itself Ragnarok. Standing, faced away from her view and looking to the stars.
“And you said I couldn’t control you! What’s this bullshit? Are you so weak that my all has already surpassed you?” Her dream self yelled, and suddenly she realized her hair was still lit up like she was in her attuned super state. The man in his armor turned and drew a sword up in the middle of her talking. He already knew of her presence it would seem; It WAS a dream after all. The moment flames started whirling the blade however Flare’s own fiery hair dissipated and her eyes left clear like any other earthling’s.
“Fool. You’ve still got a lot to learn before you can conceive my power. Your training here alone will not bring you closer to it. Only pure emotion, perfect in its essence, will give you the prize of my power. Now, instead of yelling at me why don’t you come and talk? It’s a wonderful night out.” The tense atmosphere between the two seemed to life in a surreal feeling of sudden realization between the two… Flare physically calmed her features down and started her way up as soon as Ragnarok responded in kind and sheathed his sword once more. “Good girl. You’re having this dream now because I have felt within you a jealousy of your comrade.”
“I just… don’t understand. I’m progressing faster than he is to a degree, and he just gets some new and improved form! His gains in strength dwarfing mine at this point! I know that’s kind of a saiyan’s thing, but… I don’t understand, I’m even more enraged and emotionally outraged by any events than he is, why does he get to be even stronger?” Flare started complaining. Her dream self apparently forgot to reset herself into super fiery transformed state. The Fire took the young woman around her shoulder and just had her look up into the skies with him. Normally the armor the guy wore would feel uncomfortable like this but in the dream it felt as comfy as any fleshy body hugging against her.
“I think you overestimate your current self. And underestimate Komatsu’s own reasoning and anger. A Saiyan’s natural born pride and proneness to anger is unmatched by any other… Well, you’d come a close second. If not win that as an individual. That’d make you an outlier.” He would jest and then turn to take one of her hands rather gingerly with a free, gauntlet wearing hand, something Flare was apparently okay with in the dream. Maybe she was unable to control that event. “Besides, you know he’s a tough kid. He can push himself harder than you out of sheer strength itself.”
“Well… Don’t leave me hanging then. Is this my absolute limit, could I never compare to the likes of Jarvis?” The flame was expecting this question and sighed, taking the hand and using it to spin her almost in a dance of sorts. The two would end up with Flare being held up up solely by Ragnarok’s leverage, arm around her back and hand in hand, Flare arching towards the ground dramatically…
Why was she dreaming this again?
“What happened at the hospital must befall you again. Let go of ties and bondage towards your emotions and your element will be let out in the same strand of reasoning.” But… what happened at the hospital also hurt people. Hurt ties with allies and her own family. Flare started to realize the dream’s intent and frowned up at Ragnarok. She was still suspended in his arms, somewhat awkwardly now as it lasted a few seconds too long. “For you, unbridled rage and stress culminate into a being, pure in emotion. Don’t give me that look, even if you wanted to stop yourself from hurting people you’d be holding yourself back; It’s one or the other sweetheart. With the path you’re on anyways this will be inevitable. Might as well try whilst it’s only a stronger Saiyan around you, huh? Hahahahahah!” her flames would start laughing and then suddenly drop her on the grassy hill they resided on… Which just so happened to start erupting into fires. As far as the eye could see. And then Ragnarok turned into a huge flame with a face… Constantly laughing at her until all that engulfed her dream was visions of this fiery backdrop.
… Flare wasn’t just about to speak about her new nightmare. Even as she woke up in a sweat in the curtain covered bed of hers. No doubt the young fire would shrug it off as nothing more than a dream for the months to come and continue doing what she did best in there; Push herself with the weights. In this weight environment. Her regime started to look more like Koma's as to stress her form out further. With due time her newfound ability to keep her form up seem to catch up with Koma's new audacious monkey form in surprise and sign of progress. There was one thing she wasn't going to show though...
She wouldn't let him know of her jealousy nor want to feel it on her, they were both here for the same reasons after all

Something around him felt strange all of a sudden, things felt much warmer than they normally did in the time chamber and it stirred the young saiyan from his slumber. He was still in his broken saiyan form, having tried to even sleep in it for the last few days to get a full hold on it. He would groan at the disturbance, stretching as he then looked around the room groggily. Where was this heat coming from?
Then he noticed it, even as Flare slept she seemed to be radiating a strange heat… Perhaps he was overworking her? Was her body finally reacting to the intense training they had been doing? He watched her sleep from his own bed for a few moments before pushing himself up out of bed groggily. Going over to wake her was most likely a bad idea… the best he could do was wait for her to wake on her own, or if things started getting out of hand then he would try to stirr her.
For now though the young saiyan headed out of the sleeping quarters and back into the kitchen, always careful to keep an eye on Flare as she slept. He would lazily start cooking up some breakfast, taking his time to jsut better keep an eye on her… Although as moments passed into an hour, Komatsu decided it best to let her sleep off whatever this was. He set a spare plate of the bacon and egg breakfast he had made onto the table and headed back out into the white void.
This time however, Komatsu’s broken Super Saiyan form would fade, causing him to huff as he looked down at his hands and arms.
“Now’s not the time… I”ve got another 2 months before you can rest…” He told his own body, rubbing his temple as he tried to figure out how he should continue his training. He could feel his energy reserves were at an all time low… meaning he probably had to move up his time of rest.
“Fine… whatever then…” He would grumble, taking to the air and flying off some ways away from the lookout. He had made it look like any and all of his training was purely strength based… that he was a brute of a warrior through and through… this next bit of training would no doubt be taxing on him in a very different way, and he didn’t want to look… well weak.
He would find himself a comfortable patch of white nothingness where he chose to finally sit down, crossing his legs and taking in a deep breath. He would place his hands on his knees and close his eyes as he tried to leave his mind empty.
This was a kind of meditation he had learned many many years ago in the prison cells of planet Vegeta from an alien war prisoner. While it did require you to empty your mind, that didn’t mean that thoughts weren’t going to come to you. You have to let your mind pick and chose the memories that would best serve you in that moment, let your mind relive those times and force you to see yourself as you were then, not as you had been.
Slowly but surely, Komatsu would let his mind calm… not an easy thing to do considering all of the things currently trying to rampage around in there. A soft red glow would surround his body and lift him from the ground as he meditated, leaving his mind as clear as could be… and finally, just as Komatsu was really starting to feel at peace, the memories started to flood into his mind. At first, quick flashes of his past would appear, one after another in a nonsensical stream! But soon each memory began to last a little longer than the last until it finally settled on a particularly painful memory.
He was back down in the prison’s of planet Vegeta and was about 9 years old at the time. He had only been their prisoner just under two years at that point, and the torture he had suffered at their hands had been… rather tame compared to what was to come.
Komatsu was chained against one of the cold, moldy walls of the chamber, a red headed saiyaness standing in the center of the room, and just behind her, Komatsu could just barely see the form of his uncle, Toru. While the man was also held in chains, he didn’t seem to have a single scratch on him.. At least none that Komatsu could see.
“I hear you two are the talk of the dungeons! Two… well I don’t even know what to call you… royals? Nobles? Isn’t the little one a prince? Oh whatever! You’re from the saiyan Alliance and I hear you’ve had it rather easy down here! A few lashings here and there… but you know what I really want to see?” The saiyaness asked as she casually walked over towards his uncle, taking his chin in her hand and holding him up to look at her, before forcing him to look over at Komatsu.
“I want to see you really suffer, for what you did to this Empire, to our Queen of all people!” She spoke mockingly of her own emotions. It was clear that she didn’t truly care about the outcome of the war, she was here because she would enjoy doing her job… torturing them for everything they knew, or just for fun. She looked more into the latter.
“The kid had nothing to do with the war damn it! Leave him alone, I’m one of the Alliance leaders, I led troops against the Empire, not him!” This time Toru spoke, yelling at the woman who simply laughed and lightly slapped Toru’s cheek before walking across the dungeon back towards Komatsu.
“Hah! Oh I know that~ You’re the half bred trash of their Overseer~ And I want to watch you squirm. But to do that, I need him.” She stated as she walked over to Komatsu, brushing her hand alongside the side of his face, and soon digging her nail into his cheek as she made her way down to his neck. Komatsu winced and hissed at the jagged cut that was being created.
He could hear his uncle growl at the woman’s actions as she removed her hand from him. Only now, her hand seemed to light on fire from nothing! She placed her hand on Komatsu’s abdomen and laughed as Komatsu started to scream as his skin was seared at her touch! Oh but it didn’t stop there! The flames from her hand spread over the would, catching the fabric of his tunic on fire which started to burn away at the rest of his body! Even as the fabric disappeared, his body continued to burn like it had turned into the very fabric that burned him. A Never ending inferno that burned at the child from that very first wound.
It began so hard to breath with Fire constantly in his face, sucking out the oxygen from his lungs as it burned away at him…
Komatsu was very familiar with this memory, he relived it constantly and even more so now that he was training Flare. He had basically died that day… his spirit unable to pass to the afterlife do to some strange magic binding it to that burnt corpse. The truth was, he was only moments away from death before he had been placed in a healing chamber and restored to his full health after weeks of recovery. It had been a cruel fate that he had relived many times under that blood thirsty Saiyaness… countless times he had been ‘burned to death’.
Every time he had cried out, never being able to get used to the burning… however, as Komatsu suddenly pictured his now 16 year old self in that position, he couldn’t help but subconsciously smile. He could only imagine the look on that bitch’s face now if the two were ever to meet. Komatsu would literally rip her limb from limb, with no care as to what was ‘right or wrong’. If she wasn’t already dead, he would make her suffer injury she had ever inflicted on him… and there were many…
His heart would begin to grow slightly darker with the thoughts of how cruel he could truly be to those that hurt him, or hurt those close to him… though he didn’t care. If it came down to it, He was sure others would do the exact same thing.
Opening his eyes suddenly, Komatsu found himself panting and in a cold sweat. His blood was rushing with adrenaline as if he had just spent the entire day rigorously training and Koma couldn’t say he disliked the feeling…
Day after day Komatsu would seclude himself from Flare, doing this same mental exercises though each time with a new memory that presented itself to him. With each new memory, Komatsu came to better understand why he had been so ‘evil’ the first time he had come to Earth. While he had let that darkness rule him… he was lost without it. Yes… that was why he was having such a hard time since coming back to life… no doubt that cleansing machine had taken all the evil from his heart and left only the good so he could pass onto heaven… but a soul that pure wasn’t meant for the living world. No, he needed to remember that darkness, welcome it back into himself… Although this time, it wouldn’t control him.
It had been months since she had woken up to breakfast… She was keen on training whenever possible and that meant getting up around, before, or just after the saiyan did. Left to their own devices, breakfast was a ‘fix as you go’ sort of thing most the time. Her super form had given out on her in the middle of the night from reoccurring nightmares, No matter what she tried to do before her slumber she never had the unconscious focus to maintain it through sleep. It would prove to be one of the final tasks she must accomplish in her time here… Indeed she was stirred to the smell of a fixed breakfast, but the preparer was nowhere to be seen. On his own way out into the void it’d seem. That was fair enough. He had plenty to push himself on his own, it wasn’t like training alongside her did too much to him. She’d just enjoy what was left for her and be on her own way as well, training by her lonesome to perfect her form and body.
Is it really by herself if her flames had a mind of their own?
The thoughts of what Ragnarok had told Flare plagued her mind for the last few months inside the chamber. In between all the work she had already done and are still doing it both hindered and fueled her way for a while. SHe managed to continually keep the form up for straight days, at least until she slept. This boundary would be pushed for some nights but still… It would take her a bit of time. More time would pass before she can do that, even. Sure enough; Her Attuned Form was actually held for more than twenty four hours now. A whole week with it on, and she could really feel the difference it made. Now it truly felt natural and part of her. That lingering feeling of something more still ran through her mind. She tried harder yet to push her fiery abilities beyond this now naturally attuned form to no avail. Flare would seem to actually have what Ragnarok described as a traumatizing experience again in order for it to truly bloom. There was no telling how dangerous she’d let herself be if she let all restraints on her emotion go at such strength though…
It seemed that Koma and Flare would be near each other during their training even less often than before. It was mostly only when they would sleep near the same time when they’d see each other. And sometimes meals. Flare was especially deterministic about getting all she could out of what remained of their time there. Aside from her pushing the for and intentionally wearing herself thin she’d hone in on techniques she hadn’t necessarily forgotten but discredited whilst in a fit of angst for the prior year. She wasn’t some martial artist, she was more akin to a kickboxer than anything.

The final month of training within the Hyperbolic time chamber was finally upon them, and it was time that Komatsu stopped his more ‘relaxed’ training and really get back into the swing of things. He would only spent a few days training himself once more, though he would quickly feel that any new power was still a long ways away… perhaps if he spent a second day in this chamber he would be able to reach it, but it wouldn’t happen before his fight with Jarvis.
While that bummed him out, there was nothing he could do about it. He honestly felt like he had reached the current pinnacle of his power, and it was nothing to sneeze at. So, for the final month Komatsu decided it was time to focus more on Flare… he’d ignored the poor girl for quite some time, even though it hadn’t been intentional. He’d just been so wrapped up in his own training and his own mind, he’d just assumed she would be too busy with her own training as well, not really cluing into the idea that Earthlings might not react the same as Saiyans in these situations.
Well Komatsu had woken up early that morning in an attempt to wake up before Flare and headed to the kitchen once more. The start to any good day or… days of training was a good breakfast! And besides, if she still couldn’t catch him, then she’d be doing the dishes anyways!
There was only a limited amount of food left in the chamber, but still Komatsu was able to make quite the breakfast feast. Eggs and bacon, some left over ham (Yes, there was leftovers!) with some beans he found in the back of the cupboard, some orange juice and other little odds and ends he could find. He wasn’t a good chef by any means of the word, but at worst his breakfast would just taste bland.
“Hey Flare, get out of bed already, slacker” He would then call out to her as he sat at the table to begin devouring his own breakfast, a nice messy pile of dishes now waiting for the loser of their game.
While Flare’s time in the chamber proved to significantly improve her overall form she hadn’t undergone any surprising transformation like Koma did. Sure… Her strength had grown immensely. She had learned a lot about the form she went under as well as Koma’s own personality and little quirks that made him both a saiyan… and a little more human. But even with all the progress and talent conjured up she wasn’t even close to catching the saiyan boy inside here with her. It was a game lost time after time again. Maybe with her weights off she could grab a poke, but that was stretching it. Besides, the constant stress of the weights pushed her even further. Alongside her meticulous care in keeping up her form, she had definitely made her time in the chamber worth it. She didn’t necessarily have to get direct training from the superior but hey; She wasn’t going to say no to that.
“Hungggg…” Flare groaned, zombified from a laborious night before her sleep. She had made good to keep her shit from catching fire and also kept her special form up in her sleep. Sweet. The young flame sniffed in the air as she caught the scent of breakfast. With another groan and rub of her eyes the elemi picked herself off the bed and yawned her way on over towards her seat. If this was presented to her at the start of their training she might have been too picky to consider… but the rather normal, non-cuisines she had for awhile now in the chamber had lowered her bars. She would still prefer an actual breakfast, most like the kinds from her own home, but this would do just fine.
“Oh yeah? Slacker? Say that again, I’ll WILL find ways to land a punch on that punk face of yours.” Flare laughed tiredly and just sat down to enjoy the meal, possibly trying to eat up as much as the saiyan did. Again, she wasn't going be picky despite it not being the greatest of selection and cook. So she just kept quiet about it and ate what she would allow herself to. She really didn’t want to do the saiyan’s dishes again nor really her own for that matter… Up around when she got finished with her smaller meal the young flame decided to go ahead and look up at the large hourglasses just outside for another checkup. Their sands almost ending their cycle of downpour to the lower half.
“We don’t have much longer, eh? Quite the ride I gotta say.” She’d shout back at Koma, crossing her arms and just looked at the white backdrop now. “I’d just like to reiterate how crazy this place has been. It’s definitely a step above just the gravity machine. You got some sort of whacky new form and strength beyond compare and I- … Well… I got stronger. More refined. That’s all I could ask for, really.” Despite her saying this it was clear she had expected something in form similar to the saiyan alongside her. Not that her current mastery of this form wasn anything to scoff at… certain expectations just couldn’t be reached here for her. No matter what she tried to impose that anger and rage on herself. Even with koma’s help…
“Say, wanna bet on exactly how long we’ve got?” She’d step back on the small patio just in front of the building and just expect the challenge to be taken on merit. That same smirk holding on her face.

"S-L-A-C-K-E-R, slacker" Komatsu reiterated as Flare dared him to say it again, not looking away from the red headed female as his mouth curved into a devious grin. He had to admit he really enjoyed having Flare around! It was a whole different type of friendly competition. It wasn't a competition of strength or power, not of wealth or intellect it was just... constant teasing and banter between friends. At least, he considered her as such after having spent a year with the girl. Komatsu even went so far as to stick his tongue out at Flare after calling her a slacker before eating the remainder of his breakfast rather quickly, leaning back on the hind legs of his chair with a satisfied sigh.
"It's definitely been a strange year... I mean at first I didn't think we'd get much of anything done here considering how limited it felt. You're right though, definitely a huge step above the gravity machine... above any kind of training I could of done on Earth... If I let lose on Earth like I did here... well, I don't think there's be anything left of it to be honest. It's been great to just vent... let it all out and see what I"m really capable of you know? No chains holding me back..." He murmured the last part mostly to himself rather than Flare, though wouldn't mind too much even if she did catch on. That was a part of his life he would always have trouble moving forward from... but, slowly he was learning how too... and being here with her helped him by leaps and bounds.
When she started talking about his new form and comparing it to her own strength he would sit normally on the chair once more, leaning forward to look at her seriously.
"We're two very different species, Flare. Just because I have the ability to unlock all of these transformations, doesn't make me any better than anyone else. I mean... we have to go through so many physical and emotional changes, just to keep up with others who don't necessarily have to put as much effort into it, ya know? Maybe you don't have a fancy new transformation, but you're strong... you've really improved in here, it's not hard to sense that. " It was a difficult ideology to explain to her, in fact he really didn't know how to put his thoughts into words just then, but he hoped that Flare understood his meaning... that different races found their strength in different ways. With that though, he would glance back to the hourglass when it was pointed out to him and watched as the sand trickled down to the now much fuller bottom half.
"Hm... I'd say... a couple of weeks? Maybe 3? I won't lie I haven't paid much attention to that thing... I just figured it would tell us when were done, ya know?"
Flare… didn’t know too much about her own race. She wasn’t common anyways, and most of what she knew as “her people” weren’t spectacularly strong fighters. The young flame herself seemed to be an outlier in the race with her scary ability to just combust her hair into fire and her eyes into flaming red. It wasn’t just saiyans that were known for their transforming. It seemed common consensus to her that transformation, either in spirit or in physical embodiment, was the main source to increases to power. A saiyan’s strife in particular is a harder one… but it’s also one that goes alongside their temperament. Flare knew at this point that her transformation just needed to improve like theirs, or some other form of spiritual/mind development needed to take place to unlock this power.
That never happened here.
She perfected her current form to a dime, but it wasn’t a stark increase. Not like Komatsu. That was what she was really getting at. Sure, she got much stronger, but their gains seemed drastically different just looking at them. It was just to ask the question of; Is it worth making any bigger a deal out of it though? Flare didn’t think so, truly, but she was always one to love stoking flames.
“I get whatcha mean, but don’t ya think transforming is cool and also a part of me? Like, I obviously have forms similar to you. Just look at me!” The young flame ignited almost instantly into her attuned form with little effort. “Without this I don’t have the raw power to back up my fists! And you’re just gonna stand here and say that it doesn’t matter I got nothing new from it? I seemed to be designed for it! Better yet, I had to go through similar strides just to get here, so I don’t see too much difference in that regard either!” She… sighed and pulled back a bit, rubbing that flaming hair on the back of her head. Just to pry herself from muddying up another relationship with her attitude.
“Look. Maybe this is all I need to get. Here’s hoping not, but I guess what you’re really trying to say is that it doesn’t matter as much as I’m making it out to… I think it’ll be fifteen days, give or take a few hours.” Flare returned to the hour glass as well and cut of their conversation there, tossing her own… more precise look onto the matter.. There was just enough time left in the chamber for them to smooth out and recap on what they’ve done inside. At this point, the two friends had spent as more time near each other than either of them have, comfortably, with someone else.
All journeys had their ends though. Eventually those hourglasses would reach the last of their sand and the two would be face to face with an open door back to the lookout. There, her auntie would be found waiting at the right moment a “day” would have passed them. Man, that was still crazy to think about. Flare would give the chamber a long look one more time before sighing as way of relief and departure. Just the look on Tabitha’s face as the doors opened up lead her to realize that the chamber was legitimate. The first thing the young flame did was turn off that weight she had on her this entire time with a press of her wrist. She deserved it after all.
“Oh dear, you’re safe!” The old lady’s first instinct was to hug the young flame as she made her way on out. “I can just feel the progress… You've been eating your veggies in there, right?” And the two shared laughs and thanks with a bit of more hugging. Only for Auntie to, again, in a more serous tone. "I'm not joking. Did you?"
It was all fun and games, but there was a lot left to do wasn’t there? Flare could only hope she was able to make a change with all this effort and sweat. In the long run, she'd need it.

"Transforming is definitely cool, and it can make you feel like you've accomplished so much more than you actually have... but it doesn't mean every transformation makes you better then the last. Yeah, let's look at the new transformation I've managed to unlock. It's got a buttload of power but it's still not as strong as when I transform into the Golden Great Ape. For all my progress, my transformation has actually made me weaker then I was." Komatsu admitted as he rubbed the back of his head with an almost guilty look on his face. He didn't think he had bragged about his form at all, or at least not too much, but obviously it was still enough to make such an impact on Flare for it to bother her this much. He couldn't help but feel bad about how he had gone about their training here in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and fully planned on making it up to her in their remaining weeks. Maybe they still had time to push her past what she thought was her current limit?
Flare dropped the subject pretty quickly though even after bursting into flames, and Komatsu didn't press the subject. Instead, he let her vent as she seemed to need to do so often, just listening to her speak until finally, she came to her own conclusion on the amount of time they had left in the chamber.
"Well, I guess doing the dishes isn't much of a chore for the loser, considering we'll be getting out of this place right around then... Unless I'm right... Then that's a whole week of it for you~" he would tease, trying to bring the mood back up just then before he would guide Flare back out towards the vast emptiness of the Time Chamber.
The rest of the day was spent with their usual training, Flare trying to catch Komatsu in any way she could and failing, though not by much. The rest of that week was spent in intense melee combat with each other. While Koma was still holding back, he wasn't making it easy for her, and she definitely wasn't making it easy for him TO hold back. She was really growing powerful since coming to the time chamber, and truthfully, it wouldn't be long until the girl was completely caught up to him. It honestly put him on edge, but at the same time made him rather proud of her. It wasn't as if she was his student or anything but... he couldn't help but feel accomplished whenever Flare did.
As the remaining weeks went on, the two spent their every waking moment training as hard as they could, trying to benefit the most they could from the chamber, only stopping long enough to notice the final grains of sand slip from the large hourglasses, indicating that their time there was done... Komatsu would sigh at the sight of it, returning from his Super Saiyan form to his base form and motioning for Flare to head back towards the door. He couldn't help but feel drawn to the door at this point, like some invisible force was trying to kick him out. He fought this feeling just long enough to find a towel to wipe off his face, tossing it back onto the counter before he would step out after Flare.
Unlike Flare, Komatsu never looked back at the chamber that had been his home for the past year. As hard as they had trained it had been the most relaxing year he'd ever had in his life... Sure he had a goal to achieve but it was nice to be able to get away from all his troubles, to not worry about the Alliance or the Earth's defenders... to not worry about his squad or how he was going to get his family back together. He couldn't look back at that chamber, because he felt he might rush back in... run away from all his problems for another year... well, day.
The first thing that greeted them at the door was Flare's aunt, over bearing as ever, followed by Kyuri, who would just slowly push herself off of the pillar she had been leaning on and walking over to Komatsu, looking him over with a surprised look on her face.
"You've changed..." She would say softly, to which Komatsu raised an eyebrow as he walked over towards Kyuri. He was now actually looking down at the woman, indicating that he had gotten quite a bit taller while in the chamber.
"That's the first thing you say after I've been gone for a year?" He would ask incredulously, chuckling softly as he took the initiative to hug his grandmother. Of his whole family, she was the one he had always been able to turn too when he needed guidance or comfort.
"Well, technically it's only been a day... You know it's weird to think that you're technically 18 years old now... jeeze... it feels like yesterday you were only a baby..." Kyuri would dote, hugging the tattered saiyan back before pulling away from him.
"I think I'm still only 17... at least for a little while. Anyways, let's get going... I'm absolutely starving, and Flare and I aren't done getting ready." he said while glancing back to Flare and her aunt. He would of course give her some time to relax... in fact he thought it would be best if the two spent some time relaxing out in the real world together, as a sort of team building exercise. If they were going to face off against the galaxy's biggest threat, they needed to be a proper team.
