Shira
Name: Shira Yoshida
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Race: Earthling
Homeworld: EA-RTH
Starting Planet: Earth
Appearance:
Shira is a lean, short and slender young man. He sprouts short, messy black hair that reaches over his shoulders and light brown eyes. Shira typically has a tired or irritated expression on his face. Shira wears only one outfit as a martial artist and it is his trademark attire (with a black and red color scheme it seems). Shin wears a red short-sleeve v-neck with a black pattern on it made of cotton (which is lightweight and good for rapid movement). Over the v-neck he traditionally wears a open black jacket with gray lining and a hood. He typically does not wear his hood up but may occasionally wear it if he wants to be extra protective of his identity. Shira also wears red gloves over his hands to protect them from damage when he fights. For below his torso he typically wears black tight pants and normal sneakers. This completes his outfit for both fighting and casual interactions as he is rarely seen wearing anything else.
Backstory:
Shira is born of a pure human bloodline between a businesswoman and a mixed martial artist named Duan Yuan Yoshida. Though her husband had never successful claimed a World Tournament Championship he had been a competitor in martial arts competitions his entire life. The two were hardly in love as their relationship was built on lust and status. When Shira was a young child his parents had split; her mother had found a Hybrid Saiyan/Earthling and fallen madly in love with him and ran off (leaving the two on their own). This formed Shira's father's hatred of Saiyans and their human-diluted bloodlines for coming onto Planet Earth and taking their jobs and their women. All of his life Shira grew up with his father's prejudice towards Saiyans calling them filthy apes and pushing Shira to surpass him as a martial artist so that he could grow up and surpass all the Saiyans. His father wanted to prove that an Earthling could become just as powerful as a Super Saiyan if he put enough effort into it and had enough talent.
For years Shira had been trained by his father and his father alone while also getting schooling in traditional Earth academies his whole life. His mother left him a sizable trust-fund allowing the two to fund their martial arts-themed lifestyles without working at real jobs. Shira was taught to never use his power to hurt other humans and to obey the laws of human society for his own protection. Though the boy did not understand his father's wishes; he did grow up with a desire to protect people. One day in the middle of his high school years the young teen was forced to show his powers when a rampaging Hybrid Saiyan rebel in the school began trashing the place. Using his powers the wild teen began destroying property and harassing students. Shira put a stop it, but at the cost of exposing himself to the public. He is currently now home-schooled and continuing his training.

Shira was inside of his school's cafeteria - eating his sandwich at one of the tables with his friends. "So Shira - who are you taking to the dance?" his friend Takeo snorted aloud. The black-haired boy tilted his head to his left shoulder, his eyebrows raised. "Ya know I'm not actually sure. I don't even think I have time for the dance," he calmly responded with a shrug. His brown-haired friend stared at him incredulously with those wide, black eyes of his. "SHIRA! You have to go, dude. It's like...the biggest event of the year, man!" he informed him, waving his arms crazily back and forth in dramatic fashion. Shira chuckled lightly amused by the display. "Yes, Takeo. But I don't know if my dad will let me go. He can be a bit crazy: He wants me to enter a tournament soon and insists I train endlessly for it," he explained. Takeo had never been to see Shira fight (particularly because no one at school understood how powerful Shira was compared to the average human). Duan Yuan had forbidden it for the safety of the boy; as others would treat him differently if they knew he could lift cars like it was nothing.
Meanwhile over across the cafeteria: Okara was eating with his gang again. Okara was the only other boy in East City High School who also had a paranormal power level. Shira could sense his power level at all times, as Okara didn't make much of an effort hiding his strength. The boy didn't have the control that Shira did, and it had gotten him suspended numerous times. Shira had noticed that his classmate had an unusual amount of aggression and an unbelievably high power level given that he didn't seem to train much. Shira had long since deduced that his classmate was a "halfling" of the human race and those Saiyans that Duan Yuan had constantly be ranting about to the young martial artist. But were Saiyans all this brutish? He had trouble believing that everything his father said could be true. They were aliens for sure. But weren't they also human in a sense?
Okara made his way to Felicia's table, leaping up to the table and crouching down. "Hey, Felicia," he greeted with a sly grin. "Want to go to the dance with me?" he whispered while caressing her hair in his hand. Shira was watching him carefully. In his gut he had a bad feeling something was going to happen. He couldn't really hear what they were saying, but from what it sounded like she was trying to reject him. Shira couldn't blame her, as he was admittedly kind of creepy sometimes. "What do you mean, no? What am I not good enough for you or something?" he said as he grabbed her arm roughly. Veins protruding from his forehead showed he wasn't messing around. He was angry, and with his strength he could seriously hurt her. She cried out and told him to let go. Shira knew at this point he had to step in.
"Yo Okara. Why don't you leave the nice lady alone, eh?" he said while grabbing the hybrid's arm roughly, his power level no longer hidden. Takeo was amazed as he hadn't even seen Shira get up. Shira could tell his friend was wondering what the hell was going on. The cafeteria's chattering had quieted into a sullen silence as everyone was watching the two of them. Okara felt Shira's grasp and noticed for the first time that Shira had a high power level as well. Instead of backing down however: he was excited. Shira could tell from his expression that this amused him. "So, you're a freak too huh!?" he asked giddily while shoving Shira across the cafeteria with a single hand. Shira was launched back a few yards, his crashing course would end up hurting another student. Forced to reveal his powers: Shira stopped. Using his ki he hovered in mid-air, once again shocking everyone in the vicinity.
"We don't have to do this, Okara. Just go back to your seat and have your lunch," Shira tried to reason. "No way, shortie. We need to find out whose stronger: you or me. Come on you must have the urge too! The itch to battle. You're part-Saiyan too aren't you?" he asked rhetorically. In his mind he already knew the answer. Though his answer was wrong. "Can't say that I am. I'm a hundred-percent human. I don't have your 'itch', but if you won't stand down then I won't let you hurt anyone." Okara was surprised. He seemed almost...angry that Shira wasn't a Saiyan like him. "There's no way a human could be as strong as you are." he hissed. Shira shrugged. Finally having enough of Shira's "nonsense", Okara fired an energy wave straight at Shira. Knowing that if he dodged it would kill the others in the cafeteria: Shira willingly decided to block the attack and take the damage. The blast exploded and as the dust settled Shira had quite a bit of dust on him. His clothes were a bit damaged (which he absolutely hated) and he was a bit bruised. But for the most part he was okay.
No more needed to be said. With his fast speed Shira appeared in front of Okara before he even knew he was coming. Extending a fist Shira's arm lodged itself deep into Okara's stomach, causing the Hybrid to gasp in shock as the wind was knocked out of him. Shira had been training for a day like this. Though he tried to avoid it, they were trading fists. Spinning with his other hand tightened, the young martial artist followed up with a back-handed fist to the boy's cheek dealing a heck of an amount of pain as his cheek pushed itself into the boy's body from the impact. Kicking frontward to end his combo Okara felt himself be knocked against the window of the cafeteria and out onto the courtyard below. Shira leaped after him: happy to continue their battle in a place where less people could get hurt.
Down on the ground: Okara was laughing after recovering from that barrage. Yes the impact hurt, but for some reason the boy's pain was relishing? What was wrong with him? Okara was excited. With no signs of backing down the two would have to actually fight. The Hybrid rushed out to meet Shira with his left arm at the ready to swing with a hook punch. Shira ducked, following up with an elbow to the lower stomach. Okara was strong, but he was untrained and just wildly swinging about. He couldn't compete with Shira who had been training his whole life. Okara once again gasped. Growing angry the Hybrid tried to raise his foot upward to kick the earthling warrior in the face. Seeing through it though: Shira leapt backward, pushing off the ground with his hands in the form of a completed backflip to gain some distance.
Okara smiled at Shira. "That was good, Shira. I never knew you had a warrior's spirit in you. But let's see if you survive this!" the Hybrid began to channel his energy into the palm of his hands. Shira's eyes widened. Could he seriously be considering firing an energy blast like that in a well-populated school like this? Shira immediately knew this was trouble. Bringing his hands to his sides, Shira began collecting his own energy. He would stop Okara at any cost. Charging blue energy in his fists while Okara charged yellow in the palm of his hand. The two beams fired and collided resulting in a tug of war of energy. Feeling Okara overpowering him; the yellow ki soon began to overwhelm the blue as it pushed and pushed against Shira. He couldn't hold anything back. He couldn't hide his power anymore. He needed to hit Okara with everything he had, consequences be damned.
"I'm sorry, Okara." he said as he closed his eyes. Unleashing all of his energy Shira boosted his Buster Cannon with overwhelming force. Blue vanquished yellow as the beam huddled through Okara's and overwhelmed his body resulting in a powerful explosion. Shira was on the ground, trying to catch his breath as the dust settled. He wasn't sure of what he would find happened to Okara. Staring intently across the courtyard, Shira searched for the signs of Okara's energy. The grass and trees that had existed were wiped into nothing, and Okara stood there badly wounded and bleeding. He was in critical condition, but he wasn't dead yet.
From the many classrooms students peered out and saw Shira standing in the courtyard over the destruction. Not knowing what happened, this would most certainly blow up in his face. It appeared his time as a high schooler was at an end. Duan Yuan and his mother were going to be livid about this...
