As she listened to one after another, it was only shortly after she had spoke towards Marcel that she had noticed his reaction. She had noticed how he had tended to react to what she had said. This cover was essential though, it needed to be kept up and yet she didn’t feel any resistance to doing so. Maybe she was just growing used to the idea of this cover. What was this feeling in her chest though, why did it feel so horrid? It was weird and maybe she should have let it go, but she couldn't help but keep looking towards Marcel. Why did she feel bad about having brought that up towards him? This feeling was strange...she hated strange. It always made her act different. She needed to get it fixed, and the only way she could see doing so was simply through reaching her perfect form. If she could reach perfection, her own plans could come to action and her faults would all but be gone.
She tried to flash him a look of sorrow. She hadn’t know this would have been such a sensitive subject to him. Maybe one day she could make it up to him, until then though. Well time could only tell for that opportunity. For now she just wanted to get the subject moved along, maybe that would help a bit even. It was the least she could try to do considering how she had accidentally made Marcel feel. The way he had said his words just, the stutter and everything. She knew that kind of feeling. She felt it that first time she had met Rukia, when she accidentally bled and worried of her asking even more questions. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling in the least. It was in fact one of the worse. The time she had felt such she had worried her whole world was going to fall, that she was going to be killed and who knows what else.
“Cryonia, making your visual presence would be hard to detect yes, especially if I had came from their direction. However I didn’t, I came from that way.” She would say pointing again to the area behind them. “So while yes you were hiding from them behind the ice, it doesn’t help if I come from a way there is no ice to block. Once again as well I wasn’t sneaking up on you really, I would have to be quite horrible at sneaking if I was so far as to willing to say hi first. I already said I was quite excited to feel the various energies up here.” She would say backing up once more her own facts again. However, that was when Cryonia said something that truly flipped her switch. She didn’t know why it flipped her switch so much, it wasn’t supposed to, this was just a fake identity after all.
“My parents didn’t neglect to teach me anything, I would suggest you to not talk bad about them like that again.” She would say harshly, that friendly tone gone at Cryonia’s first sentence. In her hand purely out of anger the blackened ki of a small energy sphere was forming. ‘Why did that set me off so much, there is no reason it should...I’m getting too attached to this identity, I need to break the connection. This identity is fake, I need to keep that in mind.’ Duvainel would think to herself merely as she stared at Cryonia. “Look Cryonia, I know how elemi’s abilities work, I simply was asking whether you could create your element or if you had to manipulate it from a current source. Also the facts you listed are merely an unproved theory. There is no linked actual facts stating that our powers come from the manipulation of scientific elements and is vastly disproven by elemi’s such as those of light and darkness, or even the power of the void itself. Elements aren’t simply the things of science but rather the essence of life and death itself. The same reason why said water elemi can’t manipulate solid hydrogen or solid oxygen. As well as why it can’t manipulate ice, what is simply a change in form. I think I’d rather not demonstrate them for you however, I don’t like being the subject of a scientist. There is a personal reason for that, and there’s a reason after all I don’t like using the element often. Especially without the proper training first.” Duvainel would speak to the older woman clearly done with that, she truly hated being studied as is. She had already be the test subject of a different scientist. She wasn’t going to be the living guinea pig for another.
“Wow..the psionic rift though, that is..extremely cool looking. I know that feeling of living on the edge. The twilight is not necessarily friendly the first time..if it is still all right, I would like to join in a spar as well or I can simply watch as well. Either way is fine with me, I just would love to hang out with some actual people who aren’t over the age of forty.”
Everyone seemed to enjoy the Psionic Rift she presented to them. It was actually neat to hear something positive, "Ah, yes.. Another fact about this psionic rift. If a user's vital signs are weak or barely alive this power can still be very strong! Unless... Your brain isn't handling the pain well. This power relies so much on the brain over the rest of your own body. Pretty much meaning... This ki is from your mind, not your body!" Cleopatra would explain with a smile on her face. Arlumia had her own thoughts, Marcel seemed fascinated by her abilities but there was one that stood out from the rest. It was the girl who blocked her telepathic messaged, something offensive to Cleopatra. She would give her a serious look, rather feeling unimpressed with her. Cleopatra is a soft hearting person but something wasn't right about her. How was she able to easily block that power out?
Cleopatra would step up, crushing the Psionic Rift after hearing her getting a little aggravated with the woman, "Shhh. Shhhhh. I do not want to hear that. This is not a science convention here," she said to her. Odd for her to state that even though she made some facts about her power that were 'scientific' but regardless she stepped in because she wasn't liking this person. She would hear her power being cool and her asking for a spar but that was not friendly gestures for her. "First of all, I do not mind a spar but there's something completely different about you. Something everyone here should know about you," saying that out loud, she would look at Marcel and Arlumia. She took a deep breath before looking back at this individual, "You were able to block my telepathic message. I sensed it. That is unusual because I've never had anyone ever do that. Trainers have told me that the very few are rather 'special' or 'different'. So tell us... What are you hiding? If you want a spar, I need your trust. So, let's hear about it. Where are you from? Hmmm?"
Duvainel suddenly jumped from an annoyance to a threat when she started charging some kind of energy blast in her hand. Cryonia jumped back, her ki rising as she once again extended her arm out towards Duvainel. If Duvainel decided to go on the offense, then Cryonia would do the same as well. Despite being weaker then Duvainel, Cryonia was confident she would come out of this alive. The two other people there with her seemed fairly receptive of her, and would likely help her over Duvainel if the situation deteriorated further. Cryonia's cold glare was completely locked on Duvainel, all her attention being directed towards the potential foe in front of her.
"It wasn't an insult aimed at your parents so much as questioning why your parents wouldn't give you a proper education on Elemi. If this is how you react to an observational comment, I would hate to see how you would react if someone through a harsh insult at you or your family."
Cryonia's eyes narrowed further, her gaze becoming so intense it looked like it would pierce through Duvainel. Her face darkened as the temperature seemed to drop around them. Despite being in the middle of one of the coldest regions on the planet, Cryonia's powers were influential enough to make the environment even more miserable.
"Lets get something straight right now. There's only one person I take orders from. Nobody else has any right to tell me what I can or cannot do. Even if they're stronger then me, I will not let them dictate my actions. Threatening me like this is a grievous insult. If you were in the HWRE, I would have you court-martialed in an instant. You are an outsider though, and we've just met. So this time around I'll give you a warning. NEVER threaten me like that again. Do I make myself clear?"
The authority with which she said those words carried with them chilling implications. Who knew what would happen if Duvainel cross the line? Somehow the situation calmed down slightly and the energy both women were producing faded away. It seemed as though they weren't going to blast each other to pieces, for the time being. After that the temperature started rise back up to where it was. Although Duvainel decided to test her patience further by sprouting the most idiotic scientific "facts" that she had ever heard in her life. How could she say all of that with a straight face? Cryonia resisted the urge to slap her hand over her face. She wanted to keep an air of composure around her. She did roll her eyes through, making sure that Duvainel could see her doing it.
"Where do I even begin on this? First of all, life and death are metaphysical constructs, not tangible matter or energy that you can interact with. Second of all, the examples you listed that supposedly disprove my research actually enforce my theories. Light wielders for instance utilize photon particles in order to use their abilities. They just don't produce light from nothing. Energy can't be created or destroyed. That would go against every fundamental law of science."
Of course what Cryonia didn't mention was that she was still in the experimental stages of that experiment. While manipulating photons was a way of controlling light, it wasn't the sole method one could manipulate it. Although light was one of the main focuses of her research on Elemi abilities. Light manipulation wasn't exclusive to the Elemi race. By comparing and contrasting the differences between similar abilities used by different races, Cryonia could better understand the process behind how each race used light manipulation. Still, she wasn't going to be made to look like a fool by the strange pink haired girl. So she pressed onward, seeking to cement herself as the one who was in the right.
"I have conducted years of research on this matter, and am on the verge of proving it all to be concrete fact. All my research is recorded in my lab. I'd show what I've discovered, but it doesn't seem like I'll be getting you to visit my lab anytime soon. Although you won't have to go anywhere near my lab to know that I will be right. I will prove my Universal Element Theory by being the first Elemi to completely utilize more then one natural element. Then you'll see for yourself what the truth really is."
Cryonia closed her eyes, taking a deep breath, calming herself the best she could. Duvainel's stupidity easily got on her nerves. If only she had met Duvainel under more favorable circumstances. As it was, she was going to have to put with her for the time being. She could at least take comfort in the fact that Duvainel likely wasn't going to be able to prove her wrong with what she said. It was easier for Cryonia to bring her evidence to the table then it was for Duvainel to do so. Good luck trying to prove that life and death are connected to the elements. There is no equation in existence that proves that those are even remotely related. My research is far from over, but it's still far ahead of what you sprouted today.
While bashing Duvainel's theories was fun, she had other things to focus on as well. she shifted her gaze over to Cleo, her face showing no trace of her earlier frustrations. Putting someone you didn't like down was a fine way to get your spirits back to normal. Although it was more a reset to a neutral tone more then anything else, since Cryonia rarely displayed genuine joy.
"I apologize for that display of behavior. Even though that woman was irritating me with her nonsense, I shouldn't have let it gotten the better of me. I can't speak for her, but I come from the planet Materia. Well to be more specific, I'm from the sowed station HOME, which circles Planet Materia. I was born on a ship while my parents were on one of their scientific expectations. We always returned to the space station after each mission. My home planet is uninhabitable right now, so the majority of race lives in the station orbiting the planet. Aside from the Elemi. who have assimilated themselves into other cultures. The Psionic Rift is an interesting ability I haven't seen before. I look forward to seeing its applications in combat."
Cryonia wasn't quite as secretive as Duvainel when it came to sharing information about herself. Oh, there was plenty of information she didn't divulge to most people. Although she didn't try to hide every aspect of herself the way some other people did. Still, every woman was entitled to their own secrets, and Duvainiel and Cryonia were no exceptions. So far that seemed to be the only thing that the two had in common: they both had secrets that they wouldn't divulge to others people on a whim.

That spark between the two of them, it wasn’t a friendly spark by any means. Obviously neither were going to forget this by any means. Duvainel surely wouldn’t after all. In fact she was positive in one thing, the day come when this girl would be in a dangerous situation. Well then, maybe she will use the irony on the scientist, reveal her true form and show them just why they would gladly erase the situation real fast. It all depended on the situation truly, but this female was going to remain on her watch list for quite some time. Even if she had to destroy whatever this HWRE or whatever it was to do it. Once she reached her perfect form..no one was going to be able to stop her, she would make sure of that. No matter where one went to run or hide..one day she would find them..it was her job after all.
“Then let me say something, your ‘observation’ was more of an insult than anything else. So yes if I hear anyone threaten my family, a dead family. You better be willing to bet that I plan to get mad about it. I wouldn’t want to be in the person shoes who’s insulted me. That’s how I would react. As for what you said about the HWRE? You're right, I’m not a member of it. I couldn’t care less though, and I will threaten you if I even hear a peep about you insulting any of my family again. You can give all the warnings you want, but they won’t do anything stop me if you do insult them.” Duv would say with an absolute vengeance to them. She could care less truly on what authority this person could possibly have. It didn’t affect her in any way and she gladly would feel right to show them that. She couldn’t resist adding an extra bit of tad on. “Do I make myself clear?” Purely to mock her end quote.
“So let me get this straight, you're going to apply the ‘law of science’ to a world which may I remind, especially on earth, uses quite a bit of magic. In a world where we can fly, manipulate our life energy into an actual physical form Our Ki? That itself is a form of life energy. If life is an energy that can actually be manipulated, what is to actually say death isn’t? You can run all the test you want, but face it, there isn’t any way known, that you can view the energy of death. Just because you can’t view something does not guarantee it as nonexistent. The biggest if of all, you still haven’t proven it as a fact, so until that is, it does not make it fact..I encourage you to do so as well, just remember not to merge any form of ki when you try. That wouldn’t be purely your elemental energy after all. Who knows, if you do manage to find a way then I will learn to control light as well, wont that be interesting.”
She would say simply as she would move to look towards Cleo for her question, frankly this was probably the closest Arlumia and herself were going to get along, they both did have a fancy for the idea of controlling the elements similar to their natural ones, so Cleo was the one who had tried to get into her mind. “That’s rather simple, I live currently in the town nearby, but I was born as well in space, though the planet we had been closest to was Natto before we left. I didn’t know who it was trying to send the telepathy. I told you I have a personal reasons for not liking scientist..there..are reasons for that. When I felt someone trying to get into my mind, I panicked and threw up my mental block. Let’s just sum it up this way, how many hybrid children of hybrids do you know that can access the abilities of both of their parents? It’s by no means a common thing. The more rare something is, the more you get people who want to control it. I’d rather not get into details though, but imagine having your mind ripped apart and opened everyday hoping for some means of escape. When you’ve had someone invade your mind so many times..you tend to be less..permissive of letting others inside. The only thing I’ve hidden, was those memories, because I’d rather not go through nightmare again..and again..and again..We’ve all got stories to tell, but some of them aren’t one we like other people of knowing.”
