It was late at night on the outskirts of Bamboo Forest. Most of the wildlife were sound asleep save for those that crept during these dark hours. Stars illuminated the black skies along with the Moon which was completely full, showing off its round appearance. Marcel stared up at the moon as he walked along a familiar path with his sheathed katana resting against a shoulder. The moon always made everything look calmer during these hours along with the soothing sound of crickets chirping their usual chirp. It was fortunate that this demonic Saiyan wasn't born with a tail, or he wouldn't have been able to enjoy such a beautiful sight.
The area he was heading towards is that old Kikoukenjutsu dojo he found all the way out here a while back. He desired to fix up the old school for the sake of not wanting to let something with great history behind it to die out. This was most likely not the only Kikoukenjutsu school out there, an old incarnation of it perhaps, but it was obvious that this school has been through a lot, and it was a shame that it had to die out like this. Though, he wasn't out here to continue fixing the place up however as he saved that for night, but instead for a whole different reason. During a previous clean up session of this place, Marcel met an elderly woman who seemed to have been out on a stroll before stumbling on the hybrid, and this place. After a little chat, the two parted ways, but not before she said something that indirectly led to Marcel finding something quite interesting.
Finally making it to the dojo which still looked pretty out of shape, but not as bad as previously, Marcel walked up the few steps that were in his way before opening the door which he actually managed to get fix this morning! The man stood in the middle of the doorway for a second, and admired his handy work before walking in. Fixing the door gave him so much trouble then it really should have....
Unlike before, the inside of the dojo was lit up by lamps hanging on each side of the wall thankfully. Marcel continued his walk deeper inside, the wood underneath him creaking from his footsteps. Another thing on his list he had to fix. Once he made it to the end of the dojo, there was something...different about it. What was previously a wall at the end was now an opened doorway that was also lit up. It was the secret passageway the man stumbled upon while previously cleaning up in here thanks to that elderly woman. Once he walked through that doorway, Marcel took a few more steps before walking down some steps, more lights on each side. This place was really dark before the lights were put in, even for Marcel's taste....Finally Marcel would make it to the end of the stairs which lead to YET another door. The man opened it which led to a small room containing a closed up scroll on a wooden table in the middle of said room. That scroll there contained some of the school's sword techniques which the masters most likely used to teach their students. The man picked up the scroll with a small smile on his face before proceeding out.
The hybrid had already learned how to channel ki into his blade, but what this scroll possessed had moves that were a bit more complicated compared to what he's learned. The man made it back outside, and to the back of the dojo where five testing dummies made of hay stood up, attached to sticks that were dug into the ground, having placed these here this morning. After taking a look at the first move on the scroll, Marcel rolled it back up before placing it neatly on the ground. The first move on here honestly didn't seem so hard. Just a simple series of sword slashes? "Okay then..." Law said to himself before raising his sheathed katana from over his shoulder. His crimson eyes were glued to one of the dummies as he placed another hand on the sheathe, slowly unsheathing the katana, but once he was halfway done, he'd pick up speed, removing the katana entirely before dropping the sheathe, dashing towards the dummy as he did what the scroll instructed, sending a series of slashes in its direction at amazing speeds before leaping over the seemingly intact dummy. The moment Marcel exhaled however, the dummy would fall to pieces on the grass, a light smirk on the guy's face as he turned around to take a look at his work.
As he stood back up tall however, he'd notice tiny pieces of his hair slowly falling down, causing the man to smile sheepishly. It was still good enough in his eyes.
Walking back over to the scroll, the man would pick it up to look at the next skill on this ancient text. A bit trickier this one was, but it didn't seem much like a problem. Marcel placed the scroll back down, and turned to face another dummy....his next victim. The hybrid clenched his free hand before loosening it He looked at his blade before looking back at the dummy. The demon clenched the hilt of his sword before flying up into the air! He brought his other hand onto the hilt, and brought the sword over his head as he started to come down on the dummy. "AHHHHHHH!!!!" he yelled, blushing a bit at the thought of someone possibly hearing him do such a thing as he finally made it down, giving the dummy a nice vertical slash following it up with a series of slashes like before, except this time the dummy was chopped up into little pieces that floated in the air for a bit. As they were prepared to fall, Marcel brought up one of his palms, concentrating his ki into it before bringing it forward as a black energy wave blasted out of it, incinerating whatever remained of that dummy! Nothing, but smoke was left behind in that specific location which satisfied Marcel, a small smile on his face as he placed the blade of his katana onto the ground.
Walking back to his sheathe that rested on the ground beside the scroll, Marcel would pick it up, and cover the blade then proceed to get the scroll. "I'm guessing these were just the beginner's lesson." he pondered to himself. He doubted that this school had only two moves to its name. Two that aren't even hard to master in all honesty. Unfortunately this was the only scroll he could find here, so if there really was anything else, it would be lost to the poor man. Marcel didn't really mind however. He managed to learn some things about this school despite them being simple. He felt accomplished.
Now to work on stopping himself from cutting of bits of his own hair...
