It was not that difficult to predict how the beam struggle between the two’s powers would have ended; from Cervez’s end, the power output was obviously higher, and for some reason, it didn’t seem to bother Cornatto particularly. He knew that he could have pulled out even a greater power deep within himself, but Corn knew that if he were to do that, he’d have inflicted tremendous damage to the Anubian and could have probably caused something worse than just knocking him out. So, he preferred to slide the idea of turning Super Saiyan for the moment. However, if he weren’t to do that, it was likely that it’d have been the Saiyan the one to suffer the wrath of his opponent’s power.
Not to mention, that while Cornatto did indeed recognize the mighty of the Super Saiyan, he also wanted to surpass his boundaries with his strength! The same strength he had been fighting with that far, and attempt to fight at his best even in his base form. However, it wasn’t naturally possible-- or at least for one to reach the power of a Super Saiyan by staying in his base form, at best one could enhance it so that their power output could be greater. Or, even better, surpass the level of the Super Saiyan itself.
Their beams clashed, and it was somewhat obvious that something occupied the Anubian's mind; as for Cornatto’s power wasn’t only weaker, but could also manage to hold off the Zoanthrophe’s wrath for more than what he had expected that far. The Earthling Saiyan initially guessed that he was toying with him, or giving him a chance to gain the upper hand on the cat-like creature. But, it was nowhere as easy as it could sound. On the contrary, it’d have likely been impossible for the Saiyan even if he were to put most of his current energy into it. The gap between the two, even while it wasn’t as wide as the one between a Super Saiyan and a Super Saiyan Three so to say, it was enough to let Cervez keep it up over the Saiyan.
“D-damn it, just… a little more!” - he thought to himself, growling as he attempted to push back the animal and his beam. No matter how hard the Saiyan would try or how hard he would clench his teeth, it wasn’t going to work. It was almost as if he was an insect trying to push a mountain off the ground; it just didn’t work! He had to put more power in-- something that could grant him the edge over the Anubian. His best shot was to turn into one of the legendary golden warriors and end this quickly, but again, it would only harm the Anubian unnecessarily and end the spar quickly while the Earthling Saiyan was nowhere satisfied. He wanted to fight some more! Yes, when it came to eating and training, no one could beat a Saiyan. That was for sure.
Then, Cervez suddenly snapped out of his thoughts, whether they were supposed to be. But even if the Anubian were to hint anything of what he was thinking of the Saiyan, it wasn’t like he’d have understood anything either way. The Earthling Saiyan wasn’t aware of anything in regards to Hakaishins, or Zenou-sama. They were people that not only he didn’t know, but whose concept was completely foreign to the Saiyan.
The Anubian, though, didn’t look amused at all from what Cornatto had answered; but it wasn’t only difficult for the Saiyan to reply to such broad questions, but also doing it during such a tense situation wasn’t the best for the Saiyan to focus and unleash more of his power. But it wasn’t like he could just ignore his question, now could he? However, this seemed to be keeping the Anubian’s mind away from the beam struggle the two were undergoing and gave Cornatto a chance to try and give it a shot at overwhelming the creature’s energy. Snarling, the Saiyan took a few steps forward, but the situation was nowhere different as earlier; the two beams clashed with each other and seemed stale as the Anubian was more interested in asking questions rather than fighting the Saiyan apparently.
What was worth fighting for? What drove the Saiyan forward? What was his determination? Cervez sure liked asking questions! Cornatto didn’t know how to answer honestly; he had never really thought much about that stuff, to be honest. And maybe it was somewhat obvious that he didn’t, considering his Saiyan blood was more interested in battling strong people, and not asking himself a question.
That for, what was worth to him? Years before that moment, the Earthling Saiyan would have likely guessed the Saiyan Empire had something to do with that reason-- for they were the ones he previously considered it to be the ultimate evil, but it wasn’t even so. The Saiyan Empire was only a part of it, considering how massive the galaxy was. That one time it was the Saiyans who invaded the Earth, but what would it have been to the man if it were someone else? Would he have felt the same way? Yes, he would have.
That is how he had realized that the was more attached to the blue marble and his friends than he had believed that far. But was it all about it? No. It was unlike what someone would have expected from someone whose interest was the well-being of the others, but he was also interested in sharpening his battle skills; test himself against stronger opponents, not to win but to be certain that he wouldn’t lose and keep surpassing himself. Maybe that was also why he wasn’t interested in taking his opponent’s life; the desire had never even slipped into his mind. He was a Saiyan, all right.
However, the Earthling Saiyan had no idea as to how he could sum up all of that. He wasn’t a smooth talker, that was for sure!
“I fight for my comrades…! And my spirit drives me forward!” - exclaimed the man, unleashing an even greater power output from his hands as the ki wave suddenly increased in size and pushed back against Cervez’s laser beam; but, it was still not enough.
Cornatto added another charge to his beam! (115.000 VS 150.000) Stamina 0/0 -1
Cervez couldn't really begin to comprehend that statement, considering what he was and how having friends was detrimental to his way of life. Why befriend something that he would one way or the other have to destroy for the Balance to remain in place? Though that wasn't to say he didn't have a friend, his previous attendant had been a dear friend of his before he had to go into a deep slumber because the Balance didn't need him and the rest of the Gods of Destruction anymore, and by proxy cutting that bond of friendship that he had with his Angel.
Though there was something that his Angel had said many years ago, back when he questioned why friendship existed when it was common place for mortals to backstab each other at any given opportunity. Their words now rang through his mind, even as he still kept the beam struggle to a stalemate for the moment. "Loyalty and devotion lead to bravery, Lord Cervez."
His attendant had been in the kitchen at the time, preparing a delicacy he had heard about on some planet in the East Quadrant, he didn't really care that much at the time since the food was starting to smell so good, but he had enough respect for his friend to pay attention to what he was saying; figuring that it was important and would help him some day. "Bravery leads to the spirit of self-sacrifice. The spirit of self-sacrifice creates trust in the power of love, and thus an unbreakable bond is formed between friends." Putting down a plate filled with the sweet-smelling food, his Angel had smiled at him. "Dinner's ready, Lord Cervez."
Even though he was respectful, he couldn't help but ask sarcastically as he reached for a roasted leg of some mammal he didn't really care about, and slowly brought it to his mouth, "Power of love, eh? Does that mean that you love me since we're friends?" He chuckled with a haughty tone to it, biting through the white meat and chewing his food with relish, he had been starving that day something fierce after having destroyed about two or three planets early that morning.
His Angel smiled mischievously, waiting just at the right moment when Cervez was swallowing his food before replying to his comment, "Oh yes, Lord Cervez~ I can't hide it any longer, these feelings are burning so strong inside of me. I beseech you, let us fly to your chambers right now and tie the knot once and for all~" Cervez choked at the sultry tone coming from his Angel, pounding his chest fiercely as he tried to dislodge the food as it went down the wrong way.
Panting after that ordeal was over, Cervez rounded on his Angel and pointing accusingly at him. "Kisama! You waited until I was swallowing to say that!" He gritted his teeth as his Angel laughed in his face, turning around and going back to the kitchen to clean up. "You'll live, Lord Cervez~ After all, you have me."
"Yaro..." The Anubian growled before sighing through his nose. "Yeah yeah, whatever, don't do that again and let me enjoy my food in peace." Now hungry and annoyed, the Anubian attacked his food without restraint, only pausing to glare at the doorway to the kitchen when he heard the amused chuckles of his Angel draft into the dining room.
His glazed eyes finally regained some consciousness into them, the Anubian blinking many times as he reoriented himself back to the present, seeing that he was still at a stalemate with the Saiyan's energy beam. Cornatto looked strained from where he was, as he was trying with all his might to fight against the pressure of keeping the beam struggle to a stalemate, to make sure that he won't get hit by the powerful finger beam technique that was slowly cleaving through the Saiyan's energy beam.
The Anubian closed his eyes and shook his head, figuring that it was about time to put the drapes on this charade, the Saiyan Warrior before him wasn't the Legendary Super Saiyan, of that he was sure, it was nothing but a fairy tale, a legend of the past told by a race of Warriors to inspire them to reach new heights of power, nothing more and nothing else.
So, almost disinterestedly, he flicked his wrist and watched as his finger energy beam's speed redoubled from what it was before, cutting right in the middle of Cornatto's energy wave and aimed to slam against his chest, summoning a great explosion of dust and smoke once it would connect, perhaps not as strongly as it had been when he fired it, but still packing one hell of a wallop to it.
"So it ends." Cervez intoned with another shake of his head, brushing his hands behind his back and standing ramrod straight as he watched the cloud of smoke and dust, wondering if he had overdone it by using his most powerful attack and if the Saiyan Warrior was either dead or alive but suffering grievous injuries because of that explosion.
"Oi! Are you alive back there? Sorry if my blast packed quite the punch," He chuckled, a haughty smirk caressing the corner of his lips. "Sometimes I cannot regulate my own strength," Too bad, it seemed that the Saiyan Warrior wouldn't be able to get his question answered now that he had been defeated by that attack. It was a shame, he would have liked to keep this battle going for a few more minutes, actually for a few more hours if he was being honest, but sadly all things must always come to an end.
It is a fact of life, a rule to keep the Balance in check and for Order and Chaos to exist peacefully between one another. Looking skywards, a frown pulled at the Anubian's lips, making him look like he was almost sneering at the skies. "Hmm, this battle actually made me a little hungry. I wonder if what he said was correct, that the Saiyans of this planet wouldn't mind my presence because I would really like to eat something that wasn't me merely cooking the dead carcass of an animal on this planet."
Actions: Successfully won the Beam Struggle. (Cervez's PL: 150,000 > Cornatto's PL: 115,000 = 35,000 Damage bleedthrough meant to injure, not kill or KO).
Fighting for one’s friends could be something that the Anubian wasn’t familiar with; but how would Cornatto know? He didn’t even know what his name was, nor that he was more than your average Zoanthrophe-- a rather common race on Earth, even if he hadn’t managed to encounter many fighters during his time on Earth that weren’t humans but actual humanoids with the appearance of animals. It would have been rather cool to fight someone like Cervez before, or it was just something with Cornatto that liked to fight everyone. Still, he hadn’t admittedly fought someone like the Anubian before. Not at all. On the other hand, he thought that maybe they weren’t fit for combat since most of them didn’t seem able to go beyond the average earthling battle power. It was quite small, but Cornatto did meet quite a few humans whose power levels were quite high. And they were truly admirable; while Cornatto grew up as a member of a warrior race and had only recently been training so hard that he had broken his limits. However, humans couldn’t do that. Or rather, they didn’t have the means or people strong enough that they could train with; even if, one didn’t need a training partner to train. But, it was preferable! Cornatto preferred sparring someone much better than training with himself, and if he was powerful, even better!
Although, the humans he met were quite different from him; they didn’t care for their foe’s power the way it did to Cornatto. It was something difficult to explain, but it was like they were intimidated by stronger opponents rather than getting excited. Or well, intimidated wasn’t the word for it; more like they’d be alarmed, thus not enjoying a fight to the fullest! The Earthling Saiyan himself didn’t enjoy every fight he went through; he could understand that some fights could be something more; but even in such situations, a part of Cornatto couldn’t help but burn. And not literally burn, but get excited!
How could one not enjoy a fight against a stronger foe?! It was beyond Cornatto how other races didn’t like fighting as much as the Saiyans did, and maybe it was a matter of blood considering the Saiyans were born to fight. It wasn’t only a matter of physique because there were also smaller and not as strong warriors such as the Earthling Saiyan. But all Saiyans could retain their youth for longer than other races so that they could keep fighting, and it didn’t mean having a longer lifespan, they probably lived as long as an average earthling, but rather it’d take longer for them to get old.
But, no matter how many differences there were between Saiyans and Earthlings; Cornatto considered himself always to be an earthling deep down. Before the Alliance came along, they were the first that made the Earthling Saiyan realize what he wanted to use his power for; yes, he always wanted to surpass himself and test his limits, but then what would he have done with such power? It was by meeting some of his most reliable friends that Cornatto realized that he cared for the well-being of his planet, and not only that but soon the man would realize that deep down he was more than just a warrior; he was a fighter. He fought not only for the sake of fighting, but also for the others-- no matter how strong his opponent was, and such showed how strong the Saiyan was, but even bravery could be dangerous if one weren’t careful enough. They’d easily get themselves killed, and probably that could have happened to the Saiyan as well. But he was somewhat careless when it came to that, and that couldn’t probably be a good thing.
It wasn’t something that the Saiyan wasn’t used to anyways; he had always been like that. However, he had never risked the life before. Nor did he in such a situation, but he was about to get hurt without him realizing that he’d have probably turned into a Super Saiyan sooner. Yes, it was foolish, but it was just how he fought; and maybe also a bad habit of his for him to start fighting seriously only later on. Not to mention that the Anubian would have likely gotten wrecked by the Saiyan in the first place if he were to turn into a Super Saiyan, and where would have been the fun into that? The Earthling Saiyan wanted a fair fight; one that he could have enjoyed, and not to destroy his opponent unlike most of the Saiyans, that ironically were those that the Anubian had implied them to be.
Little he knew of the Anubian’s past, but so did the cat-looking creature. And to be honest, it was somewhat similar to the time when Cornatto believed that no earthling could go higher than a certain point. Maybe he met a few whose power level could approach the ten thousand in regards to their power level-- or well, that was more or less an estimation he made considering he never used one of those things. He just didn’t like wearing anything other than his training outfit; it’d have likely gotten in his way somehow.
But as of now, the only thing that got in his way was indeed his recklessness; he’d have probably turned into a Super Saiyan earlier if he wanted to get out of the spar without having to get in one of the healing tanks later. But, in that case, he’d have had to put Cervez inside some healing machine. He didn’t already like the Saiyans, getting destroyed by one of them wasn’t certainly going to help his opinion on the Alliance.
The man’s expression hardened, his muscles getting tenser than ever as he tried to push back using the last of his energies available for his ki wave to increase in size and power. He hoped that he could overwhelm Cervez’s own, but it wasn’t long before Cornatto himself realized it was all useless; there was no way Cornatto could get out of the beam struggle victorious, but at least he could still cancel most of the damage. However, in his conditions-- with that little strength available to him at the moment, it was going to be a tough hit for him to endure.
Then, in a matter of seconds, the Anubian just decided it wasn’t worth it anymore as he suddenly hit the Saiyans with the power that was left over from his beam. It suddenly fought back against the Saiyan’s wave pretty quickly, whose eyes widened in awe as he watched the laser beam taking over and make its way through it before it hit the Saiyan with a massive explosion. “AAGGHHH!!!” - cried out the Saiyan. Everything went white for a moment before he couldn’t just see anything else because of the smoke; however he was still conscious, and he felt his chest aching in pain, and not only that but also most of his body felt painful.
It hadn’t sent him flying off the ground, but rather all of the force had managed to harm the Saiyan significantly. His muscles hurt, his arms felt heavy not only from the explosion but also from the significant usage of power he had earlier forced upon his body so that he could unleash even a stronger power upon Cervez. But, his attempt failed miserably-- his ki wave was just barely close to the Anubian’s power but not enough to win over him in the slightest.
“He--...hehe… I’d have probably played this better.” - he thought to himself, and as the smoke faded away he could finally see the Anubian better just as good as he could see Cornatto; it was obvious that the attack had left more than just a sign on him. He looked worn out, with bruises and scratches and his outfit slightly ruined but nothing that he couldn't ask someone to fix later.
The Earthling Saiyan laughed faintly, in his usual goofy way as the Anubian asked whether he was still alive or not. “Of course I am, haha… that was a pretty good blast!” - said the man.
It hadn’t been the first time that the man was in a situation like that; he had been beaten down by one of his friends during a spar too, but it was an entirely different situation. In that case, he didn’t even know what a Super Saiyan was, and he was barely three-quarters of his current battle power or so but his friend. The earthling boy happened to be half-Saiyan, managed to destroy him with the force of a ki-imbued punch in barely a hit for the force behind it was stronger than what he could chew. At the time, one of the first things he thought was to stop there right away; it was pretty much the only thing Cornatto could do at that point, the man was way too injured not only from the punch but from all the hits he had to endure. Even if he had managed to land more than a few punches on the hybrid himself, however, despite his condition, he had decided not to stop there.
He wanted to keep fighting, and what good would he have been if he were to give up? He could still stand up and all. So he wasn’t entirely done for, but still, it was painful for him to move.
But, then his friend decided to call it a day himself and put an end to it.
In this case, the situation was entirely different; he wasn’t indeed fighting his old friend at the moment, nor did he get beaten down that much. He had just endured an intense attack that had managed to harm him nonetheless, and he’d have likely gone down if he were to get injured any further. But, nothing to be too impressed with it, unfortunately, he had already expended most of his energies and stamina into that empowered ki wave, and as such, the Anubian’s attack had hit him harder than what it would have if he were to save his energies.
“It’s not over yet…!” - exclaimed the man, flashing out a grin at the Anubian. “You’ve shown me your full power, haven't cha? It’s only fair that now I do the same.” - added the man, straightening his posture as he clenched both his fist tightly. His ghostly white aura flared around him, and debris was lifting up from the ground as his power started to increase marginally; beyond the Anubian’s.
The Saiyan clenched his teeth, echoes starting to vibrate throughout all of his body as he emitted a sound similar to the one of a man holding back a growl. He had no idea whether the Anubian had any idea of what was the Super Saiyan transformation, but if he didn’t, well he was going to find out soon. For the man to transform into one, it was almost impossible in the beginning; but then he realized that the trick of it remembered what he had experienced the first time he had turned into one. To be accurate, one had to remember what emotions they felt such as pain, anger, rage.
As such, these emotions still ruled over the Saiyan during his time in this form. Even if he didn’t usually stay too long in the Super Saiyan form, since it would often leave him without energy quickly, and it was not surprising if he had to consider the enormous amount of stamina he had to spend to stay in that form. Regardless of that, it was probably the only way for him to keep fighting Cervez.
The Saiyan’s eyes turned green, his now golden hair locks standing up before he unleashed a powerful, and ferocious golden aura-- and his power level was multiplied several times fold compared to his previous battle power as the man let out a loud roar.
[Super Saiyan | Power Level: 1.495.000]
That toothy grin of his was no longer on the Saiyan’s face, but rather he looked deadly serious and stared at the Anubian sternly. “Shall we continue?”
Cornatto tanked 35.000 damage with 0 Stamina! Mechanically, it'd have been 22.500 left to knock out.
Not really unfortunate, all things considered. He had held a great deal of power behind his attack, even though Cornatto's had eaten through most of it, simply because he did not necessarily wanted to kill the Warrior and potentially have his race fall down upon him with the burning rage of a thousand exploding suns. Considering what he had learned about this Alliance thanks to his opponent, it was easy to figure out that there was some sort of Monarchy on this planet, perhaps they had a King or Queen that ruled them either with an iron fist or with a gentle but stern hand. If he killed one of their soldiers, he was sure hell would rain down upon him by this upset figurehead and the countless thousand of Saiyans Warriors had their disposal.
So, really, Cornatto still being alive but injured was the best outcome that could have come out of that beam struggle.
"I'm glad that you're still alive, otherwise this fight would have been really short," Internally, the Anubian thought to himself. 'That and your Monarch won't have my head over your dead body because of my impudent behavior.' Better that the Saiyan didn't know that, otherwise he have probably demanded him to use his full power instead of holding back like he had done.
Which, if he did so, this fight would have been over before it could have even started. One of the downsides of having this much power was that sometimes some races in the Galaxy weren't ready to deal with such an onslaught and tended to die because of their injuries.
But Saiyans were known for being really stubborn, they could come back from the brink of death and if they survived, their power level would rise to unimaginable levels not witnessed on any other race in the galaxy. It wasn't really a wonder that they, alongside the fearsome and ruthless Kold Demons, were one of the most feared races that dotted the cosmos, their infamy trailing back hundred of years in the past, back when Frieza had the Saiyans under his thumb and made them conquer planets under his name.
Those were some dark years, that was for sure. It still surprised him that the God of Destruction from this Universe had not done anything to stop the madman, considering how the Balance would have severely shifted and or been thrown out of whack with how Frieza tended to destroy and or conquer everything that his hands laid upon.
Well, it was water under the bridge now, that had been hundred of years in the past, so he will not question what a Hakaishin had been thinking when they allowed this to happen, either they had a plan in mind or they just didn't care. A God of Destruction's mindset was something that no one could really describe or expect, as every person was a different canvas filled with different colors; not a single one was the same as the other.
Shaking his head, the Anubian stared at the man evenly before suddenly unlocking more power from deep within his psyche, now releasing about twenty-five percent of his true potential, enough to perhaps give the Saiyan some pause, though it would probably backfire on him, as Saiyans were known for their thirst to fight stronger opponents than themselves.
"I would give up already, you can barely stand, you fought with everything you had, and you forced me to use ten percent of my true power, be proud of that fact." Half-lidded purple colored eyes watched as the Saiyan panted for breath before addressing him, an excited grin crossing the Saiyan's face. So it wasn't over yet? Surely it was, for what could the Saiyan do to even out the playing field, considering how outclassed he was at the current moment?
Would he use that technique that let the Saiyans turn into giant rampaging great apes maybe? While it would certainly increase the Saiyan's battle potential a great deal, the rage that will course through Cornatto's veins would put a damper on what the Saiyan could do throughout most of the fight, as he'd be focused on destroying everything around him instead of battling him, unless he made himself top priority on the Giant Ape's mind.
Of course, this was taking into account what he knew of that transformation, has he had only heard the rumors and not actually seen it in person, even though with his long two hundred and something years of life he should have definitely fought against one of them at some point; the need to go and battle a Saiyan had never crossed his mind.
If it had, he might have been more prepared for what was happening right in front of his eyes.
As Cornatto's power level began to skyrocket and reach new heights, soon enough surpassing even his twenty-five percent released potential, his eyes got increasingly wider and wider until they reached the size of dinner plate, and stayed there as he stared at the spectacle before him with an astonished gaze. It was impossible, it SHOULD be impossible, that was a mere legend, a folktale, a rumor or scary story to tell your friends at the dead of the night to scare him.
But no matter how much he wanted to deny it, the proof was just in front of him, a bitch face to rival his own firmly in place and demanding another go even after being so injured by his attack some minutes ago.
Even though he was currently experiencing what it was like to fear another race at the moment, Cervez had enough cognitive function to think on a single word: Fuck.
Because who would have thought that the friendly and puppy-looking Saiyan before him had the potential to turn into the Golden Warrior of Legend he heard so much about???
Swallowing on nothing to dislodge the pocket of air that he felt developing down his throat, the Anubian broke into a cold sweat. 'Well, I definitely didn't predict this,' He really hadn't, but he had been saying that he wanted this fight to go on, didn't he? It was the time he reaps what he sowed, so the most he could do right now was put on his big boy pants and face this almighty warrior head on with everything he had.
So he unleashed fifty percent of his latent potential.
It wasn't enough to rival the Saiyan's current power level as far as he could sense, in fact, he would go as far as to say that Cornatto was currently double his strength right now, but hey, he did say he wanted a challenge so this was fine, not ultimately good or nice on his end, but fine.
Sighing through his nose, the Anubian stood tall and firm against the trials ahead and stared back at the Saiyan with his own stern expression crossing his face. "Come," He makes a 'bring it' motion with his hand towards the golden warrior, a mindset firmly placing itself in his mind now that he was sure that the fear wasn't enough to deter him from this battle.
It was a very simple mindset that he was sure an Earthling would find great amusement in it.
That the Saiyan was still alive was something that might have surprised the Anubian. Or maybe not so much considering he likely knew how to sense his energy or at least that’s what it looked like considering how he had called Cornatto all the way from the capital to those wastelands. But, if Cervez knew anything about the Saiyan race, he’d have expected Cornatto not to give up in the first place. It was just a characteristic of the warrior race because just like what they were-- fighters, they weren’t certainly the ones that would give up but rather fight up until the real end. Of course, there were some exceptions around, but those were usually the weaker Saiyans that didn’t even bother fighting but had some job, he wasn’t exactly sure. He wasn’t that interested into that; he wanted to fight!
But, he had to say, that the Saiyan had to agree with the Anubian’s statement; Cornatto would have liked to go for a longer fight himself, he was nowhere satisfied with that little bout they had a few moments earlier. Even if it was somewhat intense, it wasn’t enough for the Saiyan. Maybe that’s what the Anubian had accused him about; that fighting drive, so to say, was pretty much typical in most Saiyans. Cornatto had always been a good-hearted Saiyan but who loved fighting, which was hilariously the opposite that one would find in some of the earthlings on Earth! Some of them were selfish and all, which wasn’t an attribute one could associate with the Earthling Saiyan.
Of course, looking after oneself was important; but at times looking after others was even more important! That’s what friends supposedly were for, right? On the other hand, Cervez thought that Cornatto was deep inside like most of the other Saiyans, but probably something that he had not realized was that there was a huge difference between wanting to murder people and fighting someone. Yes, it was true, both involved violence but Cornatto never wanted to harm anyone-- even if admittedly, he wasn’t exactly in the best of moods whenever he’d tap into the golden form.
It was a drawback of the Super Saiyan aside from its stamina cost; he had not mastered its power yet, so it felt just like the first time. But, well, maybe a little bit worse. The first time he had turned into a Super Saiyan he was almost blinded by rage-- almost, though. One of the points of turning into a Super Saiyans was not to let that anger blind you in the first place so that one could fight with a ‘clear mind’ or well, to be accurate, without losing control over one’s mind. You’d still feel angry nonetheless.
It was probably something that the Anubian couldn’t even imagine; unless he had some similar transformation that would rely on one’s anger that was, but how would Cornatto know? He didn’t even know he was an Anubian in the first place, the man thought that Cervez was a Zoanthrophe from Earth-- or well, some other planet at least considering he didn’t seem to know much of what had happened there.
During his transformation, it was easy to say that the Anubian was more than aware of the ability of sensing ki energy-- it wouldn’t be normal for everyone to get scared the way he did without being able to sense the enormous power of the transformation-- or that’s what he assumed. Either that or he knew what a Super Saiyan was because Cornatto had more than a few doubts that he had managed to frighten Cervez just because his hair had turned blonde.
Either way, he had to commend his courage; not many would have remained there while witnessing the power of a Super Saiyan.
Cornatto stared at him sternly but in reality, deep down what he said had caught his attention; only ten percent of his power? Did that mean that he was even stronger than that? He had to say, that this only got him even more fired up than before. If Cervez indeed bestowed such power, then it meant that the two could have still fought each other fairly; but the question was, why didn’t he tap into that power earlier? Did he maybe share the Saiyan’s thoughts?
To him, a fight was something more than just turning blonde and everything; of course, he’d go full power right from the beginning if it were necessary. But, unless he was forced to do otherwise, he preferred to step up his game during the fight gradually-- whether it’d be a training spar or something like that. Maybe it was a bad habit or something like that, but he liked that much better. After all, where would be the fun if he were to go all out right off the bat?
Then, the Anubian’s power itself skyrocketed, but it didn’t even reach the Saiyan's -- not even in the slightest. It was still quite a remarkable power up, though. Still, that wasn’t going to help him at all if he intended to use that power against the Earthling Saiyan, who frowned as he stared at Cervez.
“Is that your full power?” - asked the man before switching into his fighting stance; once more the one of the Soy School that Natto taught him; his knees bent a little bit, a half-clenched hand and the other completely closed and placed close to his body. However, this one-time Cornatto looked a lot more dangerous opponent than before, and he wasn’t going to hold back this time. “...If not, you might want to pull it out now.” - he added. It was probably the only thing that Cervez could do if he wanted to face Cornatto seriously after his transformation into the legendary-- or well, so to say, considering he wasn’t a real Legendary Super Saiyan. But still, the Super Saiyan itself was a legend among the Saiyans and maybe somewhere else out in the galaxy.
He’d give him a few moments before charging towards Cervez in the attempt of driving his fist into his stomach and then connect with an elbow strike in the face.
Often it pays to weigh up the pros and cons of action vs. inaction. There are many instances where the brave choice was to walk away. When a situation is intractable, when every move is a bad move, it can take courage to take yourself out of the equation. High emotions are often, though not always, counter-productive. There are times for meeting fire with fire, and others for meeting it with ice.
Being brave means being afraid, or at least it does for some people. The two go hand in hand. First is the fear, then the determination not to be ruled by it. Many people, some more than others, will always choose to face fear, to conquer it, for how else are they to make true progress in life? It was the same for Cervez, he will not let himself be molded by those who want him conveniently placated; He will not shy from the battlefields they create for him. Though his heart may often beat fast and his fingers tingle from an excess of adrenaline, he is a warrior at heart.
But then, standing in the presence of someone so much stronger than he was, it made him feel a sense of fear he hasn't felt in a long time, not since he was a feeble little pup trying to walk among the other Anubians and make a name for himself.
Fear are like shackles with a two-ton weight dragging you down into the abyss, fear is a white hot knife in the gut slowly twisting until it seared all your organs, fear is a constant hammer on the head that wants to crack you open and see what makes you tick. Yet fear also evaporates like water under the mighty looming form of the sun. When fear starts to take over the heart, it's best to walk with confidence right past it, because, like the ghosts of children's nightmares, fear is an illusion.
It just so happened that this 'Illusion' could hit with the force of a jackhammer.
With unforgiving strength behind his blows, Cornatto struck fast and hard, and Cervez was hard pressed to offer some sort of retaliation, much less try and block it. Most of the power behind the punch aimed at his stomach was blocked, thankfully otherwise he knew he'd be driven to his knees with his lungs empty of air, but the elbow strike aimed at his face continued undaunted, hitting hard against his muzzle and making his nose bleed profusely.
Growling mightily, the Anubian stepped forth into the man's personal space and aimed a focus punch straight at his sternum in an attempt to drive him away, should it had succeeded or not he'd follow that up with quick spinning kick to the side of his Saiyan's face with the intention of making him see stars.
Speaking of stars, his vision was slightly blurry after that hard elbow to the face, and everything was starting to get dizzy for the Anubian. If this was how strong the Saiyan Warrior became after transforming into the Golden Warrior of Legend, then Cervez knew without a shadow of a doubt that this battle would be over very soon for him.
The Earthling Saiyan was staring at the Anubian, waiting for something-- or rather for him to do anything aside from apparently flushing out his ‘full power’ which wasn’t but that’s what Cornatto understood earlier. After all, he did mention not using his full power, and the man’s transformation was a good reason for him actually to go at him seriously. Unless-- he didn’t deem him powerful enough for his full power! That was a possibility. But then why would he just power up to the point where he was barely half the Saiyan’s power? It wasn’t something he could fully understand until he realized he was probably trying to test him.
He didn’t exactly know what he was trying to accomplish by just standing there and beckoning him to come at him; he’d have likely been better off by attacking first considering the Super Saiyan’s current strength. However, it wasn’t like Cornatto could talk at all, after all, he was the one who had just got hit by a laser beam just because he didn’t want to pull out his real power and possibly harm Cervez more than necessary. He wouldn’t have been surprised if he would be forced to bring him to some medical tank if the man were to turn into a Super Saiyan earlier during the beam struggle, and thankfully he didn’t! Else the fight would have been over already.
Either way, he’d find out soon considering the two were about to battle. And since Cervez didn’t seem to be the one going for the first hit, Cornatto decided to give it a shot himself, and from his fighting stance, he quickly rushed towards Cervez. At such a speed that not many would be able to see, aside from the ones about as strong or even stronger than Cornatto. And the moment he launched his fist forward to hit the Anubian, it didn’t seem to affect him significantly-- but rather the Anubian appeared to have assessed most of the damage. It wasn’t a big deal, though, not since the Earthling Saiyan was going to hit him either way.
Cornatto lifted up his other arm and aimed his elbow at the Anubian’s face as it struck him, with lots of pain too by the results! It wasn’t only the impact, but the blow also made his nose bleed, which was a sign that his hit had apparently managed to break an artery. The Earthling Saiyan didn’t seem to care; it was the exhilaration of battle, not to mention that he was a lot more ruthless in his Super Saiyan form considering he couldn’t control himself. But, he was sure that someone like Cervez could handle it.
Maybe it was true that he felt fear-- and how to blame him? He was facing someone that was leagues stronger than him, and not only that but also someone that could access a power that legends portrayed to be the strongest in the galaxy. How would have Cornatto felt if he were in the Anubian’s place?
Probably just like he usually would; acting all pumped up for a good fight against a strong foe, but it didn’t match with the Anubian’s definition of bravery at all, did it? It wasn’t a matter of pride since Corn couldn’t care any less about that stuff, so it had nothing to do with not wanting to back down from a fight because of a Saiyan’s prideful nature, but rather it just didn’t suit him at all.
Cornatto was bold and reckless when it came to battles; and not in an arrogant way, thankfully. It was his love for fighting that pushed him into fights; that’s what he loved way more than anything else, for him to fight an opponent that would make his blood burn! And unfortunately, he had to say; he didn’t get such chance most of the time. It was difficult to find someone like that on Earth, aside from that hybrid boy that he had developed a little rivalry back in the days. However, that was nothing but child’s play compared to the levels he had finally reached after so much effort.
However, he had to say that the one he’d have had the most pleasure to fight was either someone stronger than himself or just anyone as strong as Corn himself. Battles tended to be much more intense physically in that case since it was usually a matter of who could hit harder and also how one played the match.
Maybe some would think that fighting a person just as strong as you required the most effort, but Corn didn’t think that it made much sense, didn’t it? That’d imply that fighting more powerful opponent was relaxing, and probably Cervez himself could confirm that facing someone that was even more than double one's power was tough, maybe even impossible. But still, he didn’t back down, and Corn liked that.
On the other hand, when one were to fight a stronger foe people would likely expect the strongest to win, but it didn’t necessarily have to be like that. At times a weaker opponent could not only improve themselves but also pull off a strategy or anything battle-related that was good thinking of, kind of obvious for a Saiyan to feel like that, though! The Saiyan wasn’t a fan of thinking too much about stuff, unless it had to do with training and fighting of course-- maybe also when it came to food, but he barely had any idea of how to cook stuff like the earthlings did with all of those techniques of theirs and other stuff.
Despite the fact that he was born on Earth, he was still as much of a Saiyan as his other kinsman, which was pretty unbelievable if one were even to have the slightest of conversations with the Saiyan. Cornatto was different from the others, and it wasn’t only a matter of what he fought for, but the way he interacted with other people and his tone was something foreign to Saiyans that retained their ruthless and savage nature. And yet, someone like that possessed a decent amount of power regardless of his nature.
And it was probably what the Anubian was wondering; how could someone as good as Corn love fighting that much? It was against all the odds, but he wasn’t even the only one; Natto was a kind Saiyan himself and yet he was among the strongest people he knew. And there were several others-- pointless to say that Cervez would likely change his whole mind about the Saiyan society if he were to meet them.
Not to mention, that most of them were also among the fabled ranks of the golden warriors who were said to be powerful warriors capable of reaching powers that no one could surpass. Most of it wasn’t necessarily true; many had managed to surpass the power of the Super Saiyan and among these people. There were even earthlings, or at least when it came to the level where Cornatto stood; he was weak compared to other Saiyans such as Totoma, Karota and so on. They weren’t that much stronger than him like Natto was, but they had already reached pretty good levels. In comparison, the Earthling Saiyan still had a lot in front of him if he wanted to get anywhere around their battle power and Cervez himself would likely be surprised if he were to tell him such information.
However, he had to say, that the Anubian truly had some gut-- not only a Super Saiyan had hit him without even holding back, but he was intent on continuing; that was something Cornatto could appreciate in a person, considering it was pretty much how he was himself. It was something that he couldn’t help, but he thought that maybe the Anubian had been aching for a fight as much as Corn did. It was true, perhaps the two weren’t on the fair ground any longer but it had sure helped him to shake some rust off his muscles from all the training in the Soy Arts; he needed someone he could practice with. However, with his current power, it was much easier for Cornatto to see through his moves and as a matter of fact, the man put little effort even just for blocking his hits.
He reached out to Cervez’s fist, holding it tightly as he intercepted his attack and not only that but then he lifted up his arm to block his attempt at a spinning kick to his face. The man’s expression was nowhere any different, though, he still looked as serious as before until a small smirk cracked its way through his face. “C’mon, hit me with all you’ve got!” - he had exclaimed before he leaned backward so that he could gather enough momentum in the attempt to thrust his head then to hit Cervez’s-- butting foreheads, in a few words. And then he’d connect with a flurry of kicks and punches.

This battle was taking a really painful turn for the worse.
He couldn't really access more of his power, as far as the blocks that kept most of his innate battle prowess were concerned, he'd only unlock back his true potential as the time flew by and he grew stronger and stronger. The problem with that was that it could take him many many years before he got his full strength back, and while he'd go as far as to say that patience was a virtue that many people should strive to carry, sadly when it concerned him he wasn't really that patient on most matters.
Especially on such matters like regaining his drained power back, the one thing that he had become proud of and he had nursed for so long since he could remember. So to have that all taken away, and now have a Golden Warrior, with a great power that vastly exceeded his own by the double, it was like getting a slap to the face.
Or rather, it was like getting hit in the face with someone's else forehead, and really fucking hard, enough that behind his closed eyelids he saw nothing but bursts of white exploding across his vision. Immediately he felt like hurling his empty stomach across the dank grounds of Planet Natto, perhaps some of it on his opponent just because he was feeling really spiteful at the moment. He felt sick to the stomach, the world was turning in on its axis and he wanted it to stop, but he couldn't make it stop, not with the Saiyan Warrior delivering punch after punch, kick after kick and blow after blow.
It was unending, this agony. Those blows raining down on his body like the indignation of an omnipresent God. He couldn't block them, nor could he dodge them with how fast they were being thrown at him. All he could do was stand by and endure it to the best of his ability. By the time it would be over, the Anubian would look like a damn mess, multiple lacerations dotted his body, his lip and eyebrow had a small cut thanks to Cornatto's fists, and blood was freely trickling down the right side of his face, over his closed right eye while the other freely slicked down his neck and chest, his fur quickly being matted with his life energy as a result.
His chest rose up and down in a fast and hard, his heart going so fast inside his chest he feared that it would suddenly burst out of his chest like some sort of freaking chest-buster alien. Breathing kinda hurt, as many of those punches had hit his stomach and his sternum, completely expelling the air from his lungs and making it doubly hard to regain it back.
He was a complete and total wreck, and yet a small smirk still curled at the corner of his lips.
It was a long time ago since he had fought someone that was stronger than him, that vastly exceeded his strength and could lay the hurt on him as Cornatto has done upon him. He could definitely say in no uncertain terms that should he regain a portion of his true power back, he would love nothing more than have a rematch with this Saiyan Warrior, his pride demanded nothing else but that.
"I admit, you're strong; really fucking strong." Cervez chuckled, the laugh sounded almost delirious in its tone, either by his slight lack of oxygen or because he took too many hits on the head. "I never thought I'd be able to fight someone that could have put me on the ropes like you did. I never thought I could fight someone that could truly injure me or fight someone that really outclassed me like you have..."
A grimace pulled at his features, his side exploding with white-hot bursts of pain as his ribs protested at any sort of movement he made. Still, he slowly raised his right arm, his right hand couldn't remain steady since trying to lift his arm was giving him a world of pain, but he worked through it and extended his index finger, a small purple light began to charge at its fingertip.
He chuckled again. "You fought well, Saiyan Warrior. You fought really well indeed." Suddenly, the energy beam in his fingertips doubles in size. "Perhaps another time, I'd have been the victor of this match." Like a bullet shooting from a gun, the finger beam left his hand and sailed rapidly towards Cornatto's direction, aimed to strike right in between his eyes.
But Cervez was done, he had used a lot of his energy in this match, even when so far as to have summoned fifty percent of his latent potential, yet that hadn't been enough to compete with the power of a Super Saiyan. Or it would have if he hadn't been so incredibly weak like he was now. His body began to fall back, his limbs going all limp as he hit the unforgiving ground of Planet Natto with a loud thud, and soon enough the Anubian was snoring away without a care in the world.
Cornatto was half-heartedly expecting Cervez to pull out his hidden power anytime soon. Little he knew that it was his ‘full power’ so to say that he could make use of-- Cornatto didn’t exactly know what his problem with his power and all of that was. Nor did he even know what his name was and what he was. He thought he was a Zoanthrophe like many others on Earth despite his combat prowess, so the man didn’t reflect on the possibility that his case could be that complicated that he couldn’t make usage of his one hundred percent. Then again, what he was thinking about was make sure that he’d push Cervez to his limit so that he would fight him at his best.
The Earthling Saiyan held the fist he had attempted to drive into his stomach tightly, and not only that, but it seemed almost as if he didn’t want to let go-- almost as if he had something else in mind other than blocking the hit. He had half a mind to toss him away, but instead of that, he went for a simpler but still effective approach; he slowly leaned backward, his features hardening a little as he attempted to prepare himself for the impact. In a matter of seconds, he thrust his head forward, and both heads hit violently but still with Cornatto’s delivering the major blow to the Anubian.
He didn’t like, it hurt. It was somewhat painful, and he could have probably avoided this by just throwing him around a little. But he didn’t seem to care particularly, he also wanted to push himself to his limits and fight with all the means available to him-- plus, he thought that such a blow would likely have more of a shock on the Anubian rather than him hitting the ground again.
Then, he wasted no time and immediately proceeded with having his arms go back and forth as his fists landed and connected a strike after another against the Anubian’s torso. It was probably something that he had expected him to push him further but no matter how many times he continued to hit him, there were no results. His punches weren’t something one could joke about at that point, they were probably enough to cause enough damage to knock out most ordinary living beings, but Cervez wasn’t someone you could easily harm-- however it seemed that his punches were causing more harm than he thought.
It was at that point when he stopped and just stared at the now painful Cervez, who was now a complete wreck but for some reason, he still managed to offer a smirk to the Saiyan. It was a little bit strange; he didn’t expect to see that kind of expression at the end of his assault-- maybe Cornatto and Cervez were a little alike? He doubted it, but he guessed he’d find out soon enough if only the Anubian were to introduce himself. But it was also then that he realized that he couldn’t force Cervez to power up further more than his current power; else he’d have done it already, it was kind of obvious.
Cornatto admittedly felt somewhat sorry for hurting Cervez that badly, but he was still fine. There was no deadly intent behind his strikes anyways, and to further prove his point, the Anubian looked delighted more than anything for the Saiyan’s real power. To his statement, the Earthling Saiyan couldn’t help but return a chuckle, folding his arms over his chest as he stared at the Anubian for a short moment.
“You’ll be surprised, but there are Saiyans-- much, much stronger than me.” - said the man.
Although the fact that Cervez looked like he couldn’t keep it up for much longer, it seemed that he was going for one last shot-- literally, the man suddenly lifted his finger and just like earlier, he started charging that laser beam of his. Cornatto arched a brow, watching as instead of putting an end to the spar, Cervez decided to take things further and use the last of his energy to try firing his attack at the Saiyan once more. Or at least, that’s what he thought, even if it wasn’t clear considering how the Anubian had announced his defeat already before even shooting the blast.
This one time, the laser beam was somewhat stronger than before-- which was kind of obvious considering the empowered state the Anubian had tapped into earlier. But again, it wasn’t much of a problem as Cornatto only moved to the side as he dodged the laser beam that probably ended up hitting some mountain unless his energy were to fade before it could hit anything else that wasn’t the Saiyan.
The Earthling Saiyan glanced over his shoulder for a brief moment before his gaze fixated upon Cervez, whom, shortly after firing his blast, just couldn’t hold it anymore and fell to the ground with a loud thud that was probably audible from anyone in the whereabouts. Of course, there was no one else aside from Cornatto and Cervez at the moment; else they’d have likely noticed sooner. Either way, as soon as the Anubian hit the ground, the Saiyan floated down next to him and stared at him for a few moments.
“I guess there’s no winner just yet-- we’ll call this a day, and fight another time again. However, I want you to get much stronger by then; I also will have gotten better myself.” - he said, cracking a faint smile on his face as he made a promise to the Anubian, hoping that the two could fight sometime again in the future.
Shortly after, his hair and turned black once more and not only that but he also retained the looks of his base form once more; his power decreased a lot, too! The man couldn’t help but as soon as he switched to his base form, to just sit down on the ground as he let out a sharp exhale; he still felt the injuries that Cervez had inflicted on him earlier with that beam struggle. Even if he doubted that he felt as painful as the Anubian was, who seemed to have fallen unconscious or at least be taking it easy considering Cervez started to snore-- not like he could blame him, though. It was an intense battle nonetheless.
Cornatto blinked before shaking a hand in front of his eyes. “O-Oi, you are supposed to tell me who you are now!”

So Cornatto wasn't the strongest of the bunch in this place?
Now that was a scary thought, but something that should have been fairly obvious, the young man didn't strike him as someone that would hold the title of Lordship over any of the Saiyans, in fact he would be surprised that the Saiyan Warrior held any sort of title that might drag him down into politics, as he seemed to be the guy that would love nothing more than be free and battling those that attracted his attention at the drop of a dime.
Still, Saiyans stronger than the one he just fought, he couldn't help but wonder if they would have been as friendly as Cornatto right here. As much as he wanted to believe in the man's word that this Planet held nothing but Saiyans that weren't the same as the Galactic Empire, he couldn't just believe the Saiyan unless he actually saw it with his own eyes. The thing was that he couldn't lose any more time in this quaint looking rock filled with berserkers, as he had matters to attend to back on Earth. Perhaps in another time he'd loved nothing than stay here and mingle with this race of Warriors, but sadly the fates were not to be, he simply did not have the time for it.
His attack did absolute jack, as he knew it would have, it was merely him releasing his final frustrations upon that finger beam technique. He watched it with half-lidded eyes as it sailed over Cornatto's body and struck a distance mountain with a thunderous boom, a mushroom cloud rising high into the skies and no doubt perhaps attracting the attention of some predators or even some of the more curious Saiyans that might have heard that noise and wanted to investigate what was wrong.
He only hoped it wasn't the King himself that showed up, he'd have to explain why suddenly about three-quarters of a mountain was suddenly missing from their map charts, as it was he'd liked to disappear before any such questions could be thrown his way. But, alas, he was dead tired, it hurt even to stand and it breathing was taxing upon his body, so as it stood it was even a miracle he was still awake as he was working on fumes by now. All those punches that Cornatto gave him, all the pain and the hurt was flaring with a staccato beat around the bruises in his body, sometimes the pain got to too much that he felt like he blacked out for a second before coming back to the world of the living, and he had to blink his eyes multiples times to regain his center of balance before he could let himself fall.
If he would fall right here and right now, it would be because of his own terms, not because his body just suddenly up and decided to fucking abandon ship. There was no way in hell that he'd let such a disgraceful thing like "blacking out" decide the outcome of this battle, no way no how. But even so, the call of just letting it go was too strong, its sinful pull grabbing at his limbs and forcefully dragging them down to the ground, calling sweet nothing in his ears for him to just let it go, just this once and let the sweet embrace of nothingness send him to sleep.
Sleep; now that sounded like the best course of action to take right now if he was honest with himself.
So, finally letting it go, the Anubian slumped to the ground with a muted thud, soon enough entering a state of half-asleep, though he was still very much aware of his surroundings, especially Cornatto floating down next to him and sitting down on the ground with a quiet sound of misplaced sand. So the Saiyan Warrior wanted a rematch? If they ever crossed paths again, he'd gladly follow through the man's request, but only when he was stronger, much stronger than he was before. He couldn't let himself lag behind and become a feeble weakling piece of shit, compared with how he was centuries ago, this pitiful state almost made him want to cry and rip his fur out.
The man even had the necessary cognitive function to remember about his previous promise, Cervez's next snore sounded eerily like a chuckle at the man's expense, though any motions to wake the jackal-like humanoid would be met with failure or, well, a focus punch to the face. After all, you do not wake a sleeping Anubian until they were ready to wake back up, that was like a universal rule passed down through generations in the manuscripts of time and space.
Perhaps when they meet again he'd finally acquiesce on that promise and tell me Saiyan Warrior about his true heritage, but that time seemed to be very far away, considering that once he would wake up he'd quickly aboard his ship and set the coordinates back to Earth, so unless the Saiyan visited Earth for whatever reason their paths would take a while to cross once again.
Eh, Cervez wasn't in any hurry to met the Saiyan Warrior in such a short span of time, this battle was enough to tell him that he still had a lot to do before he could regain his true power back, but it was a stepping stone to reach it all things considered. Still, if they fought again in the future then Cervez would make sure to give it his all against Cornatto, and this time he would win and wipe the floor with the Saiyan; his pride demanded nothing else.
Cornatto wanted him at his best, yeah? Using his full power and everything? He'd come to regret that decision later on once he got stronger, once he recovered enough strength to wipe a planet with a single energy beam, but until then, Cervez was quite happy to count space sheep in his mind as he slept away.
The moment Cornatto turned off his Super Saiyan transformation, something was different; but not around them but rather deep inside his soul. The Super Saiyan transformation seemed a very simple one for it would grant the Saiyan a slightly different appearance; golden hair and aura, not to mention the incredible power they possessed, and it was something that many couldn’t help but aspire to it. Cornatto couldn’t blame them considering how strong was capable of becoming when turning into a Super Saiyan-- as in the first stage of the transformation, the one that Corn could harness for the moment.
He could only wonder what other transformations that succeeded the Super Saiyan could have granted to the user-- he took one thing for granted, though, the power output would be fantastic. It was something that he could have likely just asked Natto to show him whenever he’d be free from his duties. He was admittedly curious to learn more about forms such as the Super Saiyan Two or Three-- despite the fact that he was far away from reaching it, he would have still liked to know more about them. By all he knew, it could have helped him in the future.
However, something that he wondered was whether gaining either of the above transformations required a cost-- something that the golden form would take away from the user just like the first transformation. It wasn’t something that the owner possessed, but rather it could be something that the person cared for-- yes, achieving such transformation had a cost. As such the loss would have then triggered a process within the warrior, it was something that Corn had undergone too. However, that time he had been lucky enough not to have lost any of the important people in his life. However, the process was more or less the same.
The key to the transformation was anger, something that was pretty much known to all Super Saiyans existing; but why could it be so difficult at times to unlock the form if one simply had to get angry? It was something that beat the Saiyan at first until he realized that what it was required for one to transform was something more than just a little irritation at a person or anything like that. No, it needed something higher, and that would have a significant impact upon the warrior. It was something that was supposedly able to cause a change within a Saiyan, for him to experience emotions that he’d have not felt before such as a blinding rage that would cause them to react and pull out the power deep inside within their cores.
It was what all the Super Saiyan had to go through so that they could unlock their fabled form; there was no other way-- at least by Corn’s knowledge. He could have no idea whether there were other ways to attain the form or not, but he guessed the latter was possibly the correct answer considering he had never heard of a golden warrior popping out of nowhere for the most random of reasons, or at least, he had not met one like that yet. But, he had his doubts that he would ever have. Why was that? For one reason.
Anger.
It was the emotion that the Super Saiyan did indeed need so that they could ascend to the empowered form, but it wasn’t certainly all. Back on Earth, Corn had known a close friend for quite a while; he referred himself as a half-Saiyan, but despite that, he was still a great fighter even if he fit for the earthling life more than the Saiyan did. After all, the half-blood was born and raised in a city, which also ended up getting destroyed because of the invasion but that was merely everything that had to do with the hybrid. He remembered him quite well and associated him with the thoughts of the Super Saiyan transformation because it was something he had been chasing for a while; he stated that it was impossible to face anyone out there without being one of them, and to that Cornatto agreed to a certain extent.
It was true that there were some monstrous people out there, but it didn’t mean that those not capable of accessing a power just as powerful as the Super Saiyan transformation couldn’t do their part. He believed that everyone, even with their little bit of strength, could contribute in one way or the other.
Even if, in a fight, he’d honestly prefer to fight his opponent alone. That was also something that showed just how much of a Saiyan he was; he could understand teamwork could be useful, but if possible, he’d have rather fought any battle by himself. After all, that was the only way for him to test himself! It was also true that there were plenty of disadvantages of fighting an opponent all by yourself, while one could just co-operate with others. He just thought that a battle would be much funnier, and intense if fought one on one!
Although, that also meant that a fight could drag on for a while-- and such was an issue if one were to consider the Super Saiyan transformation’s several flaws. But what had surprised the Earthling Saiyan was that his friend had been attempting to turn into a Super Saiyan for a while simply by forcing himself to pull out the power.
At the time, he didn’t know how one could turn into a Super Saiyan at all, but if he were to meet him again now, he’d honestly tell him how his method was pointless. It was almost like as if one were to try to enter into a room, but the door was locked. You couldn’t just force the way to open-- or well, people as strong as the Saiyans probably could, but that metaphor was only supposed to work with those who didn’t possess superhuman strength.
You’d need the key to open the door, wouldn’t you? It was just like the Super Saiyan transformation; you needed to be angry, one couldn’t just power up your ki and expect something to happen. At best, you’d only get a headache out of it.
Honestly, though, frustration was also an emotion-- and to turn into one of the legendary warriors, one needed to be struck by an emotional trigger; so, would it count? He had no idea, he hadn’t met someone who had managed to reach the form just like that, but he guessed that there could as well be other ways to turn into one aside from getting angry. But they still needed the Saiyan to be in a fragile mood, one that would call upon the power deep within themselves so that they could make use of it or something like that!
It was also true that the form wasn’t perfect at all, but rather it had several drawbacks that could profoundly influence a fight if one weren’t careful enough with the usage of their power. Among the flaws of the Golden Saiyan transformation, one was the Saiyan’s state of mind. It wouldn’t particularly change the person while in their base form, but whenever they were to transform, feelings that no one could barely describe would taunt them and what caused them was just the rage that the form unleashed upon use.
It was simple enough; after their first time, it’d usually be difficult for someone to transform once more, especially if they were good-hearted Saiyans and not particularly angered at the moment. The trick was to remember what they had experienced the one time they turned into the legendary warrior at first-- it wasn’t easy at first, but if whatever events had occurred for the Saiyan to transform in the first place, it’d have likely been difficult to forget such a thing.
Yes, that was for sure. It wasn’t something you’d just forget in a matter of days, weeks or even years. Cornatto himself, even if it had just been a few weeks at best, remembered it quite well and he wasn’t certainly going to forget it anytime soon. Not even in the years to come, he’d still remember the way he transformed, but later on, it wouldn’t have been necessary for him to do that, however at the moment.
Pretty much like Cervez had the chance to admire; for Cornatto to turn into a Super Saiyan, he didn’t only have to slightly alter his mood with the thoughts of the first time he had transcended into the legendary warrior but also he’d need to power up for a short while. It didn’t mean that it took him an amount of time equivalent to a minute to transform-- that would have been way too much, obviously. But still, even those few seconds could have served as an opportunity for the opponent to strike and it was obviously no good!
Also, by the time the Saiyan successfully transformed, it wasn’t like the man would be angry but easily alterable and quick to anger. It wasn’t obviously a good feeling for him; it wasn’t like he’d lose control, but the constant, burning feeling deep down his soul was one hard to handle. Not to mention that the transformation consumed more energy and stamina than he’d have ever thought it would-- and at times he wondered if it was worth it. What good could such immense power be if he couldn’t use it to its fullest and without having to get tired after some time? He knew that fights couldn’t be that long if one were powerful enough to overwhelm their opponent. But, otherwise, both parts could have had to partake in long bouts that might as well take enough for the warrior to get tired and in that case, likely lose the fight or get out of it in the worst of conditions.
He hadn’t mastered the form yet, that was for sure. He lacked not only the mastery over his ki, that’d usually run wild in that incredible form, but it was also noticeable in his appearance whenever he’d switch to the Super Saiyan form. His hair was a fiery golden that gave him a flame-like appearance, his eyes were green, and his aura flared continuously around him, his skin tone also turning somewhat lighter because of the brightness produced by his raging ki. While a Super Saiyan who had managed to attain mastery had slightly whiter hair, teal eyes and they could freely control their energy-- so they could also suppress their auras without having to turn it off.
Another significant difference was how the Super Saiyan behaved; instead of being ruthless, and easy to anger, just like in Cornatto’s case, a man who had managed to obtain mastery over the Super Saiyan form didn’t change at all when it came to their personality. It was pretty much as if they were still in their base form, but with a massive power increase. He was also aware that he could have further multiplied the strength behind the first Super Saiyan level by increasing the power output, but unfortunately, Corn hadn’t managed to do either just yet. He had only unlocked it recently, and he probably needed to get stronger first. It was also another requirement to obtain the form; one would usually need a considerable amount of strength before being able to even attempt at accessing the transformation, which was kind of understandable. After all, the form exerted and demanded a huge amount of stamina on the user; he doubted that anyone with a battle power that would be more or less approximate to less than a hundred could easily keep up the form without immediately reverting to their base form. Either that or even worse, death. He wasn’t sure whether such a thing could happen, but he guessed that if the energy were too much for the body to handle, it would likely explode just like a stronger spiritual attack could vaporize a weaker opponent.
It was something Cervez could have probably risked if he were to face other more powerful Saiyans-- including people such as Natto, obviously. They were on a whole different level, but Cornatto was looking forward to reaching them sooner or later! He was sure that he could do it with enough determination and effort. He had been through training with Natto already, Cornatto knew that he didn’t usually hold back either-- or well, the Overseer didn’t even turn into a Super Saiyan last time, so he technically did. Still, he was pretty sure that he fought him without him suppressing his power, and he was happy about that! He wouldn’t have liked if he were to hold back even the slightest, and Corn could understand that if he were to fight him in his golden form, it’d have likely ended even before the spar could have begun.
He didn’t know if Cervez would be interested into having a spar with them, but if he were, Corn could have surely give it a try and see if he could get some of them to meet him. Too bad he doubted that Cervez was anything like the Saiyan; he didn’t feel like Cervez shared the same excitement for a much powerful opponent, and maybe facing someone as strong as one of the Councilors would have rather made him afraid. It was something he had noticed the moment he turned into a Super Saiyan in front of him. He doubted that any of them would have harmed him-- maybe unless he’d have given them a reason to-- obviously. The Anubian didn’t exactly have the best of the ideas when it came to the Saiyans; perhaps Corn was truly one among the few exceptions among Saiyans who weren’t ruthless and all but it didn’t mean that the members of the Alliance were necessarily evil.
Yes, some people behaved similarly to the members of the Empire-- whom Corn didn’t like at all, even if they possessed considerable power; how they acted was just something he wasn't fond of at times. But, he didn’t indeed treat them any differently than the others; he was all right with it as long as they wouldn’t cause trouble and follow the same goals that all of them did. Thus making it sure for him that they'd be reliable comrades.
It was possibly one of the things that Corn admired of Natto-- his strength aside because it went without saying that Cornatto respected everyone with a remarkable power level; either a little weaker, just as strong, or even stronger than him. But, the Overseer had also managed not only to reach out to those few Saiyans on Earth, including himself, Karota, Totoma and some others whom he didn’t honestly remember that much, but he could still picture more or less their appearance in his mind, but also many other people.
Of course there was no way that all those people could be the same, it wasn’t how the world worked; everything and everyone was different and Cornatto accepted that it made everything much more enjoyable but at the same time it also made it hard to deal with everything if there were opinions that didn’t exactly match. It was a normal thing, but it was kinda difficult to deal with that especially in case one had no ‘people skills’. It was a funny term, but the Earthling Saiyan considered them to be what helped someone to comprehend and interact with someone else in an efficient way, something that he guessed Natto likely had. He couldn’t probably say the same about the Queen, considered the rotten Empire she led, but he had never met her even once so he couldn’t have an exact idea but rather just an opinion that had nearly no foundations beneath it. However, if she could lead an Empire, he assumed that she at least knew how to build an army and control it, which was still something remarkable that Corn didn’t know if he could have ever done. He hadn't ever experienced that sort of stuff in his life; he grew up in a forest after all.
However, he was sure able to interact with most people quite nicely-- the Earthling Saiyan was kind to all people unless they gave him a reason not to, but he had to say that he couldn’t befriend everyone he had met. Several people just didn't trust the Saiyan because of his blood or others who just didn’t care. It was all right, though, maybe it was something that had to do with the Saiyan’s innocent and naive nature since he was a child, but despite the fact that he was a man who possessed a good heart, he still had the heart of a warrior.
Cornatto loved to fight, there was no way that he could ever turn one down, and whether Corn was a little naive or not, he was still quite creative in combat and had, like all Saiyans after all, a talent for learning and improving. That was probably what made them known to some as the warrior race, but they weren’t perfect, and not everyone could reach the levels of strength that a Super Saiyan possessed. Even the Elites that were born with high power levels didn’t necessarily mean that they’d get stronger than a lower class warrior, it was somewhat clichè, but it happened. It was something that didn’t have to do with how strong you were born, but rather with what you did with your life and what Corn did was putting a lot of effort in what he did; that was the only way to get stronger.
The Earthling Saiyan was unaware of any species born with incredible power; he doubted that there could be someone who would just be born with gifted power. Aside from the Kolds maybe, but he had seen some before, and he knew that they weren’t all that strong if one put enough effort into it, anyone could likely surpass a Kold Demon. Being born with incredible power wasn’t always a good thing; if one didn't dedicate themselves to their training, their power would likely go stale and never raise. Instead of some people, Corn knew that had been training a lot. Himself included, naturally.
The fruits of his training had been showing quite a lot considering the amount of power he had managed to gather that had also assisted him to unlock his transformation. As much as it was annoying for its drawbacks after Corn had suddenly let go of the power; once more looking at the Anubian with his dark hues, and his hair that had finally turned back to what they originally looked like, it was different. How he felt whenever he was in his Super Saiyan form had nothing to do with how Corn was, it was almost like he turned out a whole lot more serious whenever he transformed, while in reality, Corn was quite the cheerful company. Particularly at that age, when he was still-- not to say young but still a freshman nonetheless.
As a matter of fact, now that he had switched to his base form; he felt a lot more relaxed. Almost as if he had managed to take off a huge weight from his shoulders, that was pretty much how massive the pressure of the Super Saiyan transformation was on his body. The Earthling Saiyan was surprised he didn’t have to give up himself a lot sooner than what he had expected considering all the damage that Cervez had managed to inflict, even if Cornatto could have likely tanked it in the first place-- if he had turned into a Super Saiyan. Yes, he just realized it the moment the fight was over. He’d have probably thought about it sooner, but it wasn’t like he could do much about it anymore, could he?
“Phew, haha. I can’t believe we’re done already, though…” - he muttered under his breath.
The Earthling Saiyan took a deep breath as he sat down, exhaling all the air he had inhaled at once. Even if the Super Saiyan had managed to ignore the damage in his super form easily, he couldn’t deny that he still felt it both in his powered up and base form; Corn guessed that he should have had to hit the medical bay again quickly, either that or just take some rest. He didn’t know what he’d have done, to be honest, Cornatto had gone through worse when he trained with Natto. He doubted that what those injuries were just as bad as those he had gotten that day-- he wasn’t certainly implying that the Anubian wasn’t powerful, but there was quite a difference between the two cases.
One was probably one of the strongest people in the Galaxy; the other was still more or less beneath his level in strength-- about half or so. So, it was evident that there was a gap between the two fighters’ battle power.
“...--Now that I think about it! I was supposed to be resuming my training with Natto anytime soon.” - he thought to himself, managing to crack a grin that replaced his tired expression. “I can’t wait for it!”
Cornatto was admittedly excited that he’d finally get the chance to further improve in the martial arts, not only that but also spar with Natto, who was pretty much the strongest person he knew! He didn’t exactly remember when, but it was supposed to be in the next days anyway, so he wouldn’t have to wait much. It also made him wonder if Cervez would have been up for meeting him after all, Corn had offered him to stay over a few days so that he could take a look at the Saiyan society himself. It was also true that maybe the Anubian would have easily gotten shocked to face a person much, much stronger than Corn! He did remember seeing Cervez quite troubled the moment he had turned into a Super Saiyan after all, so he wasn’t entirely sure if Cervez would have liked to spar with Natto. Or even any of the Councilors.
Either way, it was worth a shot. Little he knew that Cervez’s plans were nowhere close to staying on Natto at all, he had his duties and so did Corn on Natto, so, it was probably unlikely that Cornatto could have convinced him even if he would have known anything about it.
However, he had to say that while the Anubian was seemingly sleeping without a care in the world, Corn was still not quite satisfied with their fight; it wasn’t a matter of whether it could have lasted longer or not but rather their power difference. Sure, the Earthling Saiyan had struggled at first when he fought in his base form, and it had indeed lit the Saiyan’s hopes up, but it quickly vanished when he realized how deep their gap was when Cornatto transformed into a Super Saiyan. The moment Cervez had mentioned how he was using only merely ten percent of his full power, the Earthling Saiyan had gotten excited, but he realized it only after the short time of amount that followed.
He was somewhat confused, though. If the energy he had been feeling earlier was only ten percent, how come his full power was still that small? By no means, the Anubian wasn’t strong, but Cornatto was pretty sure that his energy should have multiplied by an amount much larger than the one he had unleashed earlier-- probably enough to face the Super Saiyan on fair ground.
“Maybe it was just a bluff…” - he thought to himself, blinking as he watched the Anubian just not do anything other than laying on the ground-- ignoring Cornatto’s statement.
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck in reflex before his gaze shifted to look at the mountain that the Anubian had managed to blow up with his attack. He whistled, letting out a faint chuckle.
“Haha… hopefully, no one will notice it.” - he had said to himself before he looked at Cervez once more.
“I guess I’ll have to take him to the med bay at least. I can’t exactly leave him here, after all.” - he muttered, taking hold of the Anubian as he lifted him up, once more standing as he carried him on his shoulder.
Then the man took off and flew away in the direction of the Capital.

Nice thread, Cervez! I'll take PL for this.
