Backstory:
Faith grew up on Capital Headquarters of the Galactic patrol, both her mother and father had become officers of the patrol early in their careers and had met on the job. Due to that, they usually kept Faith close at hand, as it was easy for a patrolman to make many intergalactic enemies...
Although growing up there hadn't been a bad experience at all! Most if not all of the patrolmen were extremely nice people and each had a hand in raising the young girl in some way. Some would tell her stories of their missions on far away planets, others would bring her gifts from their outings, some would teach her a new move they learned while away and more! It was easy for her to become so enthralled with the life of a patrolman!
At the age of 12, Faith was the youngest cadet in her class, in fact the youngest cadet to join the academy for a very long time. She was trained in house, not allowed to leave on true missions until she was at least 14. At that point she became a junior partner and had been paired up with her own father for field training.
The two went out on regular missions together, coming and going from their home, beating up the bad guys and bringing them into custody. The jobs were actually pretty easy, even the one's that involved any fighting... After hearing all of those stories growing up, she often wondered why her missions ended up being so... normal. It wasn't until about a year later that she found out her father had purposely been accepting the easier, basic classed missions as he wanted to keep his daughter out of harms way. While she definitely appreciated the sentiment, it frustrated the young hybrid to no end...
Whenever she found herself on the base she would go snooping for other recruits or even full out officers that might want to create their own detachment... their own team. She wanted to take part in the fun stuff! She wanted to take out the bad guys with flare and pazzaz! not just sit in the ship while her father did all of the work for her.
At the age of 16, it finally happened. After a year of pleading with the higher ups, she was finally reassigned to her own team...

Faith had chosen to go by the name of Red instead of her given name... it wasn't that she didn't like it, but having grown up in the Galactic Academy under the watchful eye of her parents (Who were both high ranking officers) made the young girl crave an identity of her own. While people from the Patrol knew her true name, she only referred to herself as red, or Lucky red if they wanted... why had she chosen that name? Well, her mother had always told her that the color red represented fate. At first, Red didn't like the coloring of her hair and fur as it made her stick out everywhere she went... however as time went on she came to appreciate it, and now at 16, she decided that her red, her fate, was going to be taken into her own hands.
She started calling herself Lucky red, both to establish her fate, and to hopefully manipulate her future for the better. She knew this seemed like a ridiculous notion... what would a name change truly do for her in the end? Not much... but it was her life, and she liked the name!
"Faith! uh... Red come here please!"
Her mothers voice sounded through her little home, calling for her daughter. Judging by the sound of her voice, the woman was in the reception room waiting for her... and she didn't sound mad so that was a good thing!
"Just a minute!"
Red called back as she hiked one of her boots on tighter, strapping it in securely before making sure she had placed every bit of her armor on. she moved to stand in front of her full length mirror, slowly turning and spinning so that she could get a better look at herself. Everthing looked fine except for one strand of red hair that didn't seem to want to stay tame... She huffed as she licked her fingers, using her own saliva to tap down the strand that just kept popping up no matter her attempts. A groan escaped her lips, accompanied by a pout as she gave up and walked out of the room, heading towards her mother.
The house was huge, and so it took her a few minutes to get to the reception room. She came out of th ehall and onto the balcony, looking down to find that both her parents were actually standing there. The sight brought a smile to her face as she saw them, her father wearing his uniform, sword securely strapped at his side, and her mother having taken the day off to see her daughter off safely... her mother wore a beautiful yet plain dress that hugged her body, a small hole making way for her own bushy tail.
"Sorry... I couldn't get my hair to listen to me... maybe I should threaten it with incarceration! Maybe then it'll listen!"
She said cheerily, leaping over the balcony and landing on the ground with a light thud. her mother rolled her eyes at that but still smiled, walking over to her daughter and taking her into a tight hug.
"You're the biggest goofball in the Academy you know that sweetie?"
Her mother teased her, ruffling the hair she had just tried to perfect, earning a large pout from the young officer. Her mother just laughed however as she guided Red back towards where her father had been waiting patiently.
It was strange to see him with such a serious expression on his face... he looked at Red as if he was looking at a wounded child, trying not to show he was concerned for her. She tilted her head slightly before walking up to her father and wrapping her arms around him, hugging him tightly and staying like that for a long moment.
"I'll be fine daddy... Don't worry about it so much. I've had the best teachers the Academy could offer, I had you guys!"
She said in a chipper tone, leaning back just enough to lift her arm and show off her tiny bicep, placing her free hand on it as a big goofy grin crossed her face.
"I'm super strong now. Just watch, we'll be back from our mission early! And I promise I'll check in twice as much if you leave the baby sitter behind!"
She said now in a pleading tone, to which her father shook his head lightly. He reached to the sword at his side and untied it from his belt, gripping it tightly in his hands as he spoke.
"No matter how many times you check in, she's going with you like it or not. Faith, listen to me okay? Don't go overboard... there are some really nasty people in this universe... I want you to be careful okay?"
He said firmly, though gently moved his sheathed sword forward, pressing it against her.
"And take this with you. I might not be able to protect you physically... but my sword can. We'll consider it an heirloom. I know how good you've gotten with it, so I think it's only fair th-"
"Wow dad really!? YOUR SWORD!? AW YEAH! HEHEHEHE THANKS DAD"
She exclaimed cheerily, holding onto the sword with one hand and leaping into her fathers arms for another hug. She would giggle madly as she pulled away, hugged her mother and then ran for the door, waiving at her parents with sword in hand.
"I promise I'll be careful! I"ll go to Earth and come back and get that big promotion! I'll be captain in no time you'll see!"
She cheered still before darting out the door, her good-byes said and done. All she had to do now was board the ship and get to planet Earth.
