[Thread PL: 9,915]
It was a dark night in the village. Estimated population... 50 plus people including men, women, and children. On this remote island was peace, oceans, and quietness... A villager walks around to patrol the island with his torch, guarding the area for anything unusual. It was a peaceful night, the moon shining with a nail-like shape... The ocean waves were calming enough to be amusing for most who love the ocean but something was about to erupt this night. A crawling Blood slowly creeps out of the water like a parasite searching for a host. It quickly crawls across the sands and in between a rock. The guard completely unaware of this, continued his patrol until he found little steps in the sand. The guard's sweat beginning to beat down, "Huh...? I've never seen steps like this before... A crab? Must be food for tomorrow!" he said licking his lips in excitement. He followed the footsteps with his club at the ready... He smirked finding the rock the creature crawled between. As soon as he poked his head through... Something latches on his face! It begins emitting a large screeching noise! The man's lips muffling as he falls on the ground! The scene suddenly goes to blackness!
Chapter 1-0 of the Blood Bowl Saga... The Empty Village!
The next day passed and reports were becoming news when a couple that visited the island found it empty with clothes all over! The couple ran off the island scared out of their mind! They saw fire places that were still freshly burnt with torches nearly out when they arrived the morning! It was a scary thought but someone had to investigate the island for their disappearance. It was almost as if an alien abducted them! No, not saiyans... Certainly not the Kold Demons! This was a bizarre case that needed to be figured out soon enough or something could arise. It was now at 8 PM with the sun setting... The Rain from the tropics is now setting in... The clothes still remained as if the ghosts of these victims still lurked around every corner. The winds slightly picking up the clothes and blowing some objects around. It was odd but there was no livestock around either.
The investigators were called upon by their reports and were summoned to investigate this! Many have been fearful including the small local governments to investigate this so it's up to our heroes to come in and zoom out the area and discover why the people had gone missing... Only time can tell for our heroes on what they find lurking around every shadow...
Blood stalks the rooftops, trying to search for more food to feast. He becomes more hungry but something wasn't quite right... He smelled the air and felt 4 signatures flying high to arrive! With that Blood would quickly rip open the hay ceiling and crawl through, making his first move to hide from the intruders that dare enter through his domain. Blood was weak, small, and easy to kill if something higher than him was hunting him... He awaited quickly in the hay for the investigators to begin their search slowly through the ghost village...

Cambia landed on the beach with a thud, her face transfixed into a darkened scowl as she looked around, her sword ready in her hand just in case whatever was here decided to launch an ambush the moment she'd arrived. The half-demon half-Saiyan shouldered the weapon when no immediate sign of danger presented itself, the hybrid making a tch noise before she started to slowly walk. She didn't really give a damn about this mysterious case of disappearing people. It was a small village that was near enough isolated from the world. Who really would care about these morons?
No, the real reason she was here was to blow off some steam. She'd just found out that the sister she'd been travelling with was potentially the next bloody Kami! How in the entirety of Hell could Atsuko forget to mention to her that one tiny little detail eh?! Oh how she wanted to punch that holy knights pure little face in till it was bloody and broken!
But there was the issue of their difference in power levels... Atsuko was definitely stronger than she was, so when word about this place reached them, Cambia took off with the excuse of investigating it for her. Really though she wanted something to hack to pieces, brutally.
"The one time that bloody technique would come in handy." she grumbled to herself as she walked slowly, her eyes piercing the gloom through the village. She soon came across one of the sets of abandoned clothes that the reports had mentioned, and knelt down slowly to investigate them. They weren't lain out as if on purpose... and they didn't have the same kind of positioning or crinkling to suggest they'd blown free of the washing line either. She slowly opened up the trousers to investigate inside, to see if there was any stains of blood to indicate a battle... only to find underwear and no stains.
"Okay... so, they either all decided to go on a village wide streaking session... or something else removed them from their clothes?" she asked aloud, rubbing her chin in thought as she stood up. The first option didn't sound likely, especially since the underwear was still inside the clothing. Who takes off their underwear and then puts it inside the trousers as if someone were still wearing them? And the shoes around them were all still tied as well...
She rubbed the back of her head, frowning as she considered the situation. "What the hell is going on here? Even mother wouldn't pull a stunt like this." Cambia muttered before she heard someone approaching and immediately began to charge ki into her sword, turning around sharply to confront whoever it was before firing!
Stamina: 2/3 [B1] Hell Wave: By channeling her ki down the length of her sword, she fires off an arc of red energy towards her target, the arc cutting through her foes.
Fenris didn't go out of his way for anything, most days. Pitfighting was an exception simply because he put his life on the line to earn money. Since there were no arenas this side of the islands, any particular reason he had for visiting this little bumblefuck town was null and void. Until zeni had been mentioned, at least. Figuring that it was also a good region to look into training his ki attacks, the demon had grudgingly agreed to some manual labor contract or another. Upon arrival, though, he was experienced two separate emotional states. First, he was vastly disappointed, as the entire town's population had apparently decided to up and move out. Well, there went his paycheck.
Second, he was confused; Why had the villagers left their clothes behind. And their food stores. And every earthly personal possession they owned. And ooh, scorch marks. Oh. Ooooh. Ohhhh... So there had been a battle and everyone had at the least vanished without a trace. Great. Fenris's senses sharpened instantly, questing, searching, and groping about for any sign of life. Only one was forthcoming. Treading as silently as possible, he made his way through the various huts and around the leftover detritus from whatever event had happened here. Honestly, it looked as though a great number of people had panicked and stampeded, then disappeared in such a way that their vestments were still wholly intact. Just what in Hell had happened here?
Turning a corner, Fenris saw a flash of blonde and red... and then nothing but red as a line of ki separated the air into segments and clawed its way towards his face. He barely had time to duck and avoid the attack, hearing the slice of energy tear a hut behind him apart. His duffel hit the deck to give the demon greater maneuverability as he sprang up into a fighting stance. The piercing eyes and pretty face that greeted him were far from what he expected, and he hesitated when no other attack was forthcoming.
Silence, punctuated by a mournful breeze.
"...... Not quite the welcome I was expecting." In truth, he hadn't expected much beyond the usual scorn typically expressed towards him, but this was just ridiculous. "So what gives?"

The sound of a gruff yell sounded through the atmosphere of Earth's space. A pod barreling down into the vicinity of the Empty City. The transportation orb exploding as a Kagami bursted out and took a disgusting plow into the ground. A rather large tuft of dust exploding from his crash site. Just off the cost of the Island, too. Rising to his feet, the white haired rebel rubbed his head with a rough palm. Recovering quickly and looking around. A blue sky..that was nice. Beautiful, even. Trudging into the city, Gura had noticed something. His crimson red eyes locking onto scattered pieces of clothing. Strange, even the Saiyajin wore clothing. What kind of primitive life forms could live here? Maybe they could teach him a thing or two about feeling free, physically and mentally! Smiling some, the Rage Incarnate cocked a brow as something else caught his attention. "Eh? What's this?" He called out, his pupils locking onto a blonde female and a black haired humanoid. "Hello!" Gura shouted.
Saki of the Tiger Clan was now floating in the skies above, high up in the clouds; flying towards two powers he felt nearby. He was meditating high in the clouds, the two powers clashing against each other breaking his concentration and calling him to investigate the new powers of the new generation. He was going to go to a spot in the center of a town he used to train in for 2 years, 250 years ago towards getting sealed for 1,000 years after reaching three hundred years before sealing. Something was destubing him. It was like he felt a bit enlightened from his sword getting stronger along with his Spiritual Pressure.
He was in the air for awhile, meditating when suddenly he sensed two powers below him. He also floated down into the center of his the former city. He could usually sense who was around him, a town this size puts out a strong combined power. He looked around and saw clothes, chains, rings, earings, bangles and even shoes.
(The hell? So many clothes and bangles and shit,) He thought to himself, looking around. (Earings still clasped. Necklaces and chains still done up. This is so weird)
He now saw scorch marks and broken windows and houses. (So there was a struggle) He also found some bullets on the ground. (Some one fought back….) He then saw the swat clothing on the ground with an intrusion through the flack jacket. (Didn’t fight back hard enough.)
He now phased and deblured in front of both fighters. “Friends!” he said with his hand chilling. “This Is so strange. It’s a shopper’s dream, so much clothing…but this is serious. Usually I can hear souls that can’t pass over…there are no souls here…and there are no bodies either…we have an epidemic here…if.”
Saki then bowed to the girl. “That attack you did, it was well proportion energy wise. I see you the more skilled one out of the two.” He now looked at Fernis. “you can feel it too…it feels like panic from the vocal energy remaining in the air that I’m feeling. Emotions are energy, it just feels like fear.”
At last! The group is now together! Our heroes may take their time to communicate and even interact. Most of the group that was in town is currently in the center of the village... If the heroes look around them they could see a big fire pit for ritual. A lot of crab shells laid around from the villages feasting on the crabs long ago. Quite trashy but it was something homey for the natives here. It was actually nice and soothing out here in the rain. Why some of our heroes could forget about this situation for a moment. Prepares knowing your ally could be beneficial for the future! As it turned out, the rain slows down with haste and it just feels too frickin' good out now. It was cool, the air wasn't that windy anymore and it was just a nice environment. No wonder the natives like it out here! Our heroes had plenty of time to act now but now something is could be seen near the fire pit that was out! A Voodoo-like staff in the sand perfectly standing up on it's own! It was if someone actually put it there...
If one of our heroes ventured towards this voodoo staff they would discover crab skeletons, bird skulls, and above all that was abnormal was the alien-like skull rest upon the end of the stick! It was such a weird sight but the weirdest thing of all was the containers around it with chemicals of all sorts including one that looked like blood! However, there was more to this... On the bottom of the sands near this staff was little footprints... Little tapping footprints! Wider then a crab and had a line in the middle. What a weird little animal this could be...
SUDDENLY!
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-"
Someone screams! It was coming from the main lounge! If the heroes look, they could see a humanoid figure getting latched on the face by a creature through the tiny pieces of hay built in the wall! A loud screech is heard from the creature as it quickly vanishes when the lightening strikes! If they quickly hurry they would kick, open, or even blast the door to run into... NOTHING! The creature was gone and clothes laid right there with blood all in the closet with a corpse laying in the little janitor's room with a sword in his hand with his throat cut across. It was a horrific sight... The smell was awful and it smelled like the creature was here not too long ago... The body however was old, probably since yesterday as flies were already infesting it. It was pure horror... The heroes now have a chance to explore the lounge to search for clues! The lounge was full of mounted animal skulls and a long dining room table. Chairs were everywhere, the table a mess and the grass roof had a hole in it! If a hero examined it... The edges all around the hole would be burnt like a ki blast or some sort was shot through it! Interesting enough, there's the next clue! From this point forward, the heroes had time to decide on what they can do!
Blood was a predator of night in this form... He slowly rose his back and crawled out of hiding spot after feeling their presence around now. They were all slightly weaker than him but he knew... He knew he had to move along! He scurried across the rooftops in the ran and smelled a food present in the lounge... He quickly jumped on the roof of the lounge and looked over with the people investigating distracted! He quickly warmed his body up with ki and burned a hole through the roof and into the room. The shaky man hiding quickly jumps out from under the table, "Oh by the gods no!" he said. He quickly latched out to attempt to lock on his face. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH-" and then quickly latched on... He would quickly suck him up and leave his remains behind to quickly push himself out the hole by flying! Blood snarled and let off a loud screech with lightning happening in the background as he was now outside. He had to get out of that quick... The humanoids are now looking all around for him now probably.... It was scary for Blood for himself but he was sure they felt scared too!

Cambia let out a slow breath when she saw that her "target" was another humanoid investigating the area. "Sorry 'bout that. Can't be too careful, thought you might have been... whatever the hell happened to this place." she explained to him, using her sword to gesture to the scattered clothing around the place. Before she could speak any further, there was a loud crash, immediately setting her on edge once more before the hybrid saw that it was just another male humanoid coming out of a pod... and a rather loud one at that.
And then just to pile on even more testosterone, another one turned up! This one waffled on for a bit about souls and energy emotions whilst Cambia pinched the bridge of her nose in exasperation at the whole ordeal. She wandered over to the bonfire to investigate the staff and items around it, frowning at what she saw. "Some kind of ritual?" pondered Cambia aloud. She peered at the prints left behind by... whatever it was.
"I swear, if one more surprise happens-" she began to say before the scream penetrated the air, followed by a screeching sound. She growled before surging towards the source of the sound, her sword easily carving through the door frame as she entered. The hybrid sharply looked around, before seeing a new pair of clothes on the ground and she made a tch noise. "Alright, so we've got some weird ass bug thing latching onto people's faces... and guessing this is the result." she growled before seeing the corpse and blinking.
"Finally, a body... but why?" she wondered as she went over to examine it, ignoring the smell. She'd smelled worse from her own kills in her earlier days. "What's different about you?" she wondered, peering at the wound across its throat, then at the sword, noting the edge of dried blood running along it. "...Suicide." Cambia diagnosed. She rubbed her chin in thought as she tried to put the pieces together, looking back to the clothes on the ground and the corpse in the closet.
She looked to the trio of males and rubbed the back of her neck as she peered up at the burnt through ceiling. "Okay... so someone correct me if this starts to sound wrong at all, or anyone else has any bright ideas for what's going on." Cambia asked the group. "We've got some sort of bug thing on the loose here that's going around and eating people through their faces... but it can only eat the living hence our friend in the closet." surmised the hybrid, looking around the group. "Don't suppose anyone here can sense energy levels so we can track it and kill it before it can find us and eat us?"
Stamina 3/3
This world curses me because of my blood, then I shall curse and plague it in turn!
Slightly irked but otherwise unruffled, Fenris lowered his fists to show his (relatively) benign intentions toward the pale female and simply nodded in acknowledgment when she explained herself. He would probably have been on a hair trigger were he in her shoes, as well; it had saved his life more than once on the road, after all. He was, however, curious about her: her energy felt familiar, like that of a demon, but also different. As far as such questions mattered, it bothered him to not have a clear-cut answer. Perhaps she was a half-breed of some sort? It would neatly explain everything, though he was unsure if anything could be so simple. An impact a relatively short distance away snapped him out of his reverie. When the earth bucked beneath their feet, he instinctively bent at the knees to aid in keeping his balance, gaze slashing around as he sensed a new power close by... which turned out to be a whole new level of weirdo.
The demon had seen several different forms of sapient life in his time, from human to Majin, but while the newcomer looked human, its signature on Fenris's ki sense was anything but ordinary. The man who revealed himself was dark-complected, muscular, and boisterous, his energy almost infectious. Almost, if the pitfighter weren't dour and world-weary. His brow rutting in a slight scowl, Fenris shifted himself around enough to be well-balanced on his feet, uncertain of the newcomer's intent despite how he came off.
Before he could be certain of anything, however, yet another interruption came as a fourth body suddenly phased into existence nearly on top of himself and the female. Fenris didn't need any help in recognizing the type of spiritual energy that resonated from the second stranger, as he was already intimately familiar with the particular thread of energy that demons gave off, being one himself. His mind rushed with more questions as he instinctively skipped back and slid into a liquid fighting stance, all largely centered around whether or not this one was a friend or foe. While he tried to keep a fair bias toward all others as they came to him, he found that a healthy dose of suspicion was always worthwhile. The unexpected nattering about emotions and energy and Useless Spiritual Things left the pitfighter blinking, then exasperated as he relaxed with a sigh.
“Look, bub, Iunno what you're going on about, but you're not making sense. 'Sides, I don't need to feel past fear to know that something bad happened here.” His arms spread to take in the entirety of the village remains, the lean and sharply-developed musculature of his belly showing through the open front of his jacket. “Unless God finally decided to show up and enact the Rapture, we're missing a lot of bodies. The tracks all around the village are largely overlapping one another, which means that the people were running in a panic, often in groups.” He crouched down, picking something up from the loose soil and holding his palm out to reveal a few large-caliber brass casings in a small pile of sand. “Somebody was shooting at something, but there's no blood to be found anywhere.” He was speaking more to himself than any one of the others by this point, noting that the female had approached the macabre fetish. Curious, he crab-walked over with a few long-reaching steps to examine the totem and noted several small tap-tap-tap tracks, with a long line running down their center. A small wisp of ki flickered into existence above a finger to provide better illumination, and he noted the erratic but large spacing between each little imprint and the wavering manner the center line took.
Whatever had created the tracks had been moving very quickly, and scuttled like a crab or similar invertebrate. As best he could guess, the line bisecting the tracks meant some sort of bug monster. He cringed internally and forced away a shudder. It just had to be insects...
A terrified scream and flare of pressure against Fenris's ki sense caused him to snap up instantly. “There!” he said before his figure blurred and then disappeared entirely, reappearing close to his prey before the movement could be registered by anyone. Not bothering with any formalities, he ran at the hut wall and leaped into it with a shout, crashing through with as much trouble as if it had been made of tissue paper and landing at the ready. The sight that greeted him was hardly what he had expected, and caught momentarily off-guard he recoiled as his nostrils were assaulted with the stench of putrefaction. When the door exploded inward, he smacked aside a splintering piece of the portal and watched as the female followed, clearly ready for a rumble. When he was the only living thing that was forthcoming, he just shrugged and slowly turned around to take in the entire scene, cringing at the decay-bloated body and piles of maggots feasting on carrion as their parents buzzed in a thick cloud. As used to blood and death as the pitfighter was, this experience was on another level entirely. Whatever the culprit was, they were close, and Fenris decided to devote his senses to seeking the little bastard out. The interior of the hut faded into the background as he mentally withdrew, pushing himself to quest out. Time passed as he scoured the small village from one end to the other, ignoring everything and everyone else.
Saki replied to the mortal with demonic energy. “You may be right, past fear is illogical. What ever made this town a ghost town mustn’t be far off. From what I red about god, he turned people to salt, flooded the earth and even used fire and brimstone to attack the earth to punish mortals…” He frowned as he went into his pocket to pull out a cigarette case. Opening the cigarette case, he took out a cigarette then used his ki to manipulate a flame to light the butt of the cigarette. Now taking a smooth drag, he felt like the stress was coming off. In his years of chaos before his sealing, he remembered killing millions of mortals with his demonic powers given to him by a wizard…but never was a murder scene like this.
For one there were no corpses..just clothes and items. Also no money was stolen, the fiend just looking to eat his prey. As he took another drag of his smoke, he felt like the tension was yet to lift off of him. Suddenly he heard a scream!”
“A mortal! Screaming in fear! That did sound like fear!” Everyone heard the scream and went to investigate it in their own way. Saki then sprinted to where the direction of the scream was heard. It was a native ground where there were many skulls and skeletons…animal skulls and shells so to speak. He then looked down while taking a drag of his cigarette, noticing the foot print on the ground. He never saw something like that before, the foot print didn’t resemble any animal or human foot print he ever seen. It seemed too feral to be human and no animal had tracks like that. (Probably alien, a predator sent to this planet in exile…but how did he find this city…where’s the spaceship?) Things were adding up indeed. He then looked down as the skeletal parts on the ground. (It’s eating animals, but if it eats flesh like animals, why are human’s all gone without their clothes? Quite strange indeed.) He then ruled out that this was an animal or carnivore that eats people…it seems that it was a killer on the loose, the method of killing seeming most unheard of from this time.
He then looked towards where he heard the scream, blood was seen closeby. Saki put his finger in the blood and tasted it. “Human…a young girl…she screamed here…but where’s the body….” Saki used his ki sensing to sense out any other powers but couldn’t find any powers nearby. Saki didn’t know anything about ki suppression so he thought that no one was around…but he heard a scream….and there was blood around the area along with skeletons. He was now wondering what weird secret this town cept. He then turned to the people around him. “This ain’t right, how can something kill a whole town, kill someone now and we don’t know where it is…who ever this creature is, he’s really a serial killer…he comes and goes…like an assassin who wishes not to be felt or seen….” He took another drag of his cigarette and exhaled into the air.
Clues were starting to mount up, the foot prints, the blood, the crab shells and animal skeletons. It was a real mystery in the making.
Attention! Gura has asked for his turn to be skipped so we'll continue the Saga now. I will reply between now to the next 8 hours. (I may be able to do it now, but I have work in over an hour!) Let's keep this going!
From this point, our heroes have learned that this creature was no humanoid. It was a beast, a monster, a killer... A Predator... Suddenly! In the lounge they heard little tip, tip, tip, tips on the rooftop... Was this the rain? This could drive one mad if fully crazy but in reality of this gist it was just the rain replaying the noises of the creature's footsteps it made at night. Silent and yet... Terrifying. The heroes had nothing else to look for... Other then scared artifacts and other useless junk... The young girl had solved the case of the individual's death. He had commit suicide and it was too avoid being devoured by this beast. The creature seemed interested in live beings... Not dead, not undead. Just living beings, old and new. So goes on our hero's quest. The heroes could now carry themselves back outside.
It was dark, lightly rainy, and above all... Scary with the presence of this creature lurking around EVERY corner. It could be behind them! In front! Oh and how about the corner side of that building?! No... It was just a confusing time right now for this creature had cause dismay, lost, and sadness for this black village. The heroes however found something rather interesting as they walk out whenever.... Another building just across had a door left open and on that door was... Dead, exoskeleton skin that had been left behind. It was about four feet long and it looked like the same creature from before! Usually with a shed of skin means rather skin repair or even worse... THE CREATURE HAS GROWN! It was indeed a horrible thought to think about but the heroes must stay strong if they were to push through this!
Just when things felt calmer... Footprints like the leg's of the bug had walked into that house and it was pitch black. They had a choice to make... The room inside could further expand their quest! They could unlock more secrets of this mystery and even get more of the answers they themselves are looking for. If one were to so choose to walk in... Suddenly... The lights would flick to life and the scene in the front of this empty room demonstrated a show for our heroes.
Blood was everywhere! Blood was written on the walls! Half a dozen bodies were stacked in the center of some sort of pentagram and a set of clothes across from the bodies with blood all over it. The clothes had skulls and stuff dangling all over it which increased a rather questioning thought... The Voodoo staff... Was that this individual's staff? There was a similar style towards this twist. The whole room smelled of pure disgust. The walls were written in native's language and even the Universal language. 'WHY DO YOU NOT COME TO SAVE US?' 'OUR SINS CANNOT BE HEALED' 'FORGIVE US GODS FOR THIS' and above all... The weirdest thing appears on the wall. A diagram of this creature... Spreading out as if this individual had seen this creature many times. This was truly shocking because this seemed like something no one knew but this witch doctor himself. On the group was a small booklet... One covered in blood with a red feather in it as a bookmark...
The outside of this book was brown and leather-like... It looked human skin-like. Pretty spooky. If one hero was to pick this book up and flip through pages... it was all like a bible... One with pictures of legends and gods. On the feather page however... Was the same creature drawn in blood on the wall. It was called 'The Courser'. A beast that was sent by the God of Punishment (Name in Native language) to slaughter people for their sins. This brought a scary feel because it felt like a fantasy but in reality this was all just baloney.
"Ahhhh~ such fools to believe... To believe I am their doomsday. That's... sad..."
A voice was heard all around... It sounded possessive and like out of pure air... After a moment of that, our heroes heard a large squeal like before and the lights go out after the light bulb explodes on it's own. Emergency lights of red would flick on as they could see the creature's shadow leave the room! Okay, things just got weird... Our heroes are now free to examine the bodies and the empty room. The room had nothing in it however and the bodies looked... Murdered.
After hiding in the vents of the room and making his comment he would squeal and make himself loud enough to blow out that light bulb. He had to run now! He quickly crawled out of the vents and jumped down... Running towards the door, the emergency lights quickly flick on and by then... He was gone! he ran towards the beach and jumped into the rocks he first hid in. The rain dripping on his skin, he hid more time so the intruders lose him. If he was someone how to be discovered... He would be ready to strike in all out case of ambush and surprise.
The hybrid looked up at the hole in the roof before flying quickly through it, her sword drawn and ready to hack anything apart at a moments notice... only to find nothing atop the roof. She quickly spun on the spot in three hundred and sixty degrees... but couldn't see anything. At least nothing that remotely resembled a killer bug on the loose. "Nothing up here... can't see the damn thing." she called down to the others, before she slowly descended to the outside of the house, following the line of the roof.
She looked around, her grip on her blade tightening. Whatever this thing was, it was fast.. far too fast for her to handle on her own directly. Cambia grumbled a little before regarding the three men. "Alright, I suggest that until we figure out what this thing is, and hopefully kill it, we all stick together and watch our backs." the blonde girl suggested before she saw something across the street. "Oh you have GOT to be kidding me here!" she exclaimed, pointing with her sword towards the house opposite them... where a pile of see through skin could be seen hanging from the door.
Cambia snarled and shook her head at the sight of the skin. "Great... now whatever this thing is, it's getting bigger. And usually when it comes to bugs, bigger means worse for us. Fan-bloody-tastic." she growled. "And to make things even better, its gone into a pitch black house..." she said, before she then smirked and got an idea. She briefly began to charge her ki towards her blade before she stopped and frowned. The hybrid sighed and dissipated the energy harmlessly. "Sooo tempting to just... blow up the damned house, and hopefully the bug with it." she said before she began to stride towards the building.
"But I want to make certain this thing is dead." growled Cambia before she entered the building, her half-demonic eyes trying to peer into the pitch black darkness. Hopefully the others had followed right behind her. She did not feel like becoming lunch for whatever this thing is, plus she still had a sister to smack upside her holy head when she got back from this trip. Once inside, there was a strong familiar scent to the fight happy hybrid. "Blood." she said even as the lights came on and the scene around them was awash in it. What drew her eye though was the pentagram of corpses, as well as the ritualistic nature of the place.
She knelt down and inspected the pentagram, as well as the corpses making it. "Strange... they went to such lengths to form this... Were they trying to summon something from the Demon Realm maybe as what? Some kind of protection against that bug thing?" asked Cambia as she eventually looked up to the others and awaited their own responses.
When the voice finally came about, she immediately brought her sword to her front, her eyes darting this way and that. "SHOW YOURSELF YOU BASTARD!" roared the hybrid before the lights went out. "Oh no you don't!" she snarled as she began to give chase to this thing, trying to follow its shadow as best she could. "I am not playing bloody hide and seek any more!"
This world curses me because of my blood, then I shall curse and plague it in turn!
Not cool. None of this sh*t was alright, anymore. Well, it had all been jacked to begin with, but with the Creepy Factor starting to edge up towards the roof everything had just started to go FUBAR. Seriously, who did crap like this?! It was almost enough to make Fenris miss the cities and the sidelong sneers he received at every pitfighting ring imaginable. Not knowing which was worse, he resolved to simply stay and help out, against his better judgement.
The same flicker of power he'd felt before pressed against his ki sense, and like a lightning bolt he was off after it again, blazing a red arc through the air as he flew out and around to the hut. That it was far faster than even he could sense was starting to get annoying. A startling thought almost made him pause; what if the creature they were searching for could suppress their power? The prospect of being unable to feel their common foe coming created a creeper of fear in Fenris's gut that he hadn't felt in a long time.
Get ahold of yourself! he snarled with a mental shake of his being. Focus, find the little bastard. Don't sweat the small stuff. You can do this. I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Taking a breath, Fenris briefly considered destroying the house alongside the blonde one but abstained, much for the same reasoning: Better to see his slain foe's corpse with his own eyes than to trust blind luck after a massive attack. He followed the female to the hut with a calm mind and stopped outside, his natural fear reflex toward bugs getting overridden so he could examine the ragged remains of flesh hanging there. On closer inspection, he saw that it was similar to how snakes shed their skin though not quite the same. Suppressing a shudder, he stepped inside and curled his upper lip in disgust at the display of zealotry there. Despite himself, he couldn't help but think of the inhabitants now as a group of religious nutters. Wondering what type of person it took to follow a false deity that demanded self-castigation, Fenris shook his head and began running over things with a critical eye. Blood everywhere, so much so that it had practically become a piece of imagery for this debacle. Ugh. He got enough of that in the pits, he didn't need it at a seaside village that should have been a tiny slice of paradise before everything.
Crimson eyes glanced over the human pentagram in the center, wondering its significance. Despite being a demon himself, he was not an expert on the supernatural, and so Fenris left it behind. Of greater interest and importance was the diagram on the wall. For the second time that day, Fenris was treated to the sight of a life-form he'd never seen before. Definitely a bug-monster. He did not like how detailed the drawings were, even for a grown man using blood to finger paint. Breathing through his mouth to filter out the scent of decay, Fenris noticed the small hide bound book and looked more closely. It was easily the nicest (quote-unquote) item in the entire hut, worn but very well cared for. Opening the front cover he was treated to symbols he was unfamiliar with. Great, a native language. Sighing, he flipped through the pages slowly. Maybe he'd find something despite not being able to read what had been written, like pictures. Pictures were good.
Fenris's diligence was rewarded when he came across more drawings like those on the hut wall, conveniently marked on a page using a feather as a bookmark. The female spoke, her voice catching his attention and dragging his eyes off the book. He looked around at the room again and almost sneered. "Who knows. These people were clearly fanatical, at best." He held the book up to show it around to the hut's occupants. "Can anyone read this? I can't get anything out of these scratch marks."
An eerie voice speaking made his skin pucker, his head snapping around to try and find the source as his senses stretched again. Then there was a keening, high-pitched shriek powerful enough to shatter the lights. Fenris gritted his teeth and toughed it out. He couldn't see in the darkness, but he both heard movement and felt another presence, exploding through one wall here as well to provide some small illumination while he gave chase, pointing toward the beach in the general direction their prey had gone. Nothing ran without reason, and his gut told him that they had found whatever monster was responsible for the village's massacre. They almost had it this time.
He missed how the fleeing creature had stopped moving, almost as if it was waiting...

Saki was starting to feel uneasy…all of these clues and still nothing. Suddenly he felt it, a dark power. It felt different, he never saw or sensed something like this before. He now shot off after the pl he sensed which felt like many smaller powers grouped in one.
(What is this thing? How can 4 of us not find and beat down this creature?!) He then stopped infront of the pentagram and summoned his dragon’s bane. He then put the tip of the sword in the center of the pentagram and began to focus his energy into the sword to find out what this creature was.
He then saw through the eyes of the victims. They were doing animal sacrifices to please some sort of dark entity. Suddenly there were screams, people started running around and the images were getting harder to concentrate on. Suddenly he could see a figure cloaked in shadow standing infront of the human he used his demonic power to see through. It was dark and the creature’s eyes glowed red and the feedback of energy pushed Saki back, his sword breaking the pentagram.
Breathing hard, he got to his feet. “The fuck…this isn’t a demon or fiend…it’s some sort of creature who steals energy and dna from any living person or animal! No one here was safe from this thing…it feels strong…stronger then me….”
Saki now caught his breath and caused his sword to disappear. “The hell, WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?!” He started to yell as his power level started to rise in anger. “You want a meal?! Come forth and fight! Stop darting in and out of the shadows like a coward who’s too scared to earn a decent meal through the sacrifice and thrust of battle!” He now used his ki sensing ability to find out where the creature was. According to his abilities, the last area he sensed it was on the roof.
Typically he’d rush in and defeat it but it was really strong…he had to play it smart, even if he was to sacrifice himself to get the creature into the open.
