Nice as it is to wake up most days without having tio deal with people, the incessant patter of small talk or even the insistent buzz of urban activity there is one distinct problem with living out in the boonies. Even the Yunzabit Boonies where you have dinosaurs for neighbors and occasionally dinner. ’Booooored!’ Considering that the wannbe God of Destruction had only recently been introduced to the wonders of cable TV it hadn’t kept him placated nearly so long as one might have thought. It seemed as though there were limits to how long even deities could binge for. The boxing and MMA had much slowed that progression but this was always going to be the result.
Honestly though, for a species which was supposedly so very weak these Earthlings had a peculiar fixation with the art of combat. Sinthe could respect their focus if nothing else.
Stretching out on his couch he kicked his legs idly before repeating the nub of his predicament again as though that would bring him any closer to solving the issue. ’Hah, bored out of my skull up here.’ With no one around for miles (Carmel had implied she lived close by but was helpful enough to not provide directions, he guessed that was on purpose) he was sort of stuck for company unless he fancied learning how to speak T-Rex… he did not. Oh he could scuttle off to one of the Earthling cities easy enough but by and large he found them confusing AND annoying. Except for the restaurants of course, he found those largely delicious. That would be all well and good were it not for the fact he hungered for something distinctly… other.
It had been quite some time since he’d had a well balanced match. It was a difficult thing to come across even now, a fight where either fighter could take the lot rather than being a crush either way. Some of these one’s he’d met, they were getting there, but he tended to get too excited and ruin the flow of battle by powering up too much. What he really needed to finally wake up properly was a challenge without a lost cause, one blade to sharpen the other as it were. He’d been thinking in those terms a lot just recently.
Well, time to bait something or other out it seemed. Flicking the TV off he rose and stretched before making for the door. From there he found himself the highest spot in the Highlands and just cut loose. Well, he cut loose a little anyway, he still had that old Anubian conceit in him that wouldn’t let him unleash his full strength just at the drop of a hat, even when it was much reduced from the past. Even so at Twenty-Five Percent his ki was enough to shake the ground he stood on, rattling the cliffs below and dislodging parts of it here and there.
The wind howled, the rocks crashed and above all of it Sinthe waited. Now to see what surfaced. WC: 510 Thread PL: 54,664 HWC PL: 13,666 25% Power: 81,996

[Sheesh okay. This is going to hurt but since no one else has joined yet... Thread PL is 21,976. Lay it on me A-noob-ian]
Heizen was flying into the Cold North of the Earth Realm for quite some time, a dark blue streak of light oozing out as he flew at top speed. After his training with the Halfling - Heizen searched for a new place to be alone and train. His place in the Plains had been discovered, and while he had no problems with the boy; he could grow quite... annoying. "I swear the Saiyans all have short attention-spans... or maybe it's just him. All I know is I could use less distractions. My power's still got many heights to climb," he thought in introspection. The Jackal Demon preferred his alone time. It allowed him time to think on his own and plot his next move, his next adventure. What was he going to do? Perhaps he could invest in a Spaceship. There was still much of this universe he needed to explore and he had already spent so much time on one measly planet.
But it seemed to the demon that his alone time would not be.
Off in the distance Heizen felt an enormous power level shoot up out of nowhere! Even at his full power... he still could barely hold a candle to it. "What in the...," he thought to himself as he flew on over. He could see rocks tremble and break apart and sharp winds fly as the enormous power released its energy. It was almost like a challenge to anyone who might have been in the area. "Hm...," he murmured to himself. "Suppose it wouldn't hurt to at least check it out." Heizen continued on his way, powering up to his maximum strength before deciding to approach. Using the Hellish energy invigorated the Demon and allowed him to fight such foes. Normally he'd feel okay about fighting someone so strong... but this power felt... enormous and yet reserved. It was as if there was something deeper to be felt.
After a few minutes of flying Heizen came across the creature. It... looked oddly similar to him. The ears, the body structure all seemed like a smaller yet similar version of him. Was this who everyone was confusing him with? The Demon's red eyes stared at the creature before he made himself known. "...Are you a demon too?" he asked in that low, growling voice of his.
What better way to introduce himself?
[Demon Heart Activated. PL is 65,928. Not enough to give a great fight but enough to do something xD I promise I'll make it still fun somehow!]
Sinthe couldn’t help but regard this… well you might call it an offering, with interest. The challenge was implicit in the bloom of his ki and yet this creature had come to him willingly. He was either supremely confident or his senses were not nearly so well developed as to know what he was getting in to. Confidence at the very least he could appreciate.
’I’ve been called as much, but no. You might say that I’m the logical opposite.’ This… whatever it was exactly might not have been exactly what he’d been looking for in an opponent, he wasn’t exactly on a level footing, but it was a good start. Sinthe figured he might be able to beat him into something resembling good shape and then who knows he might actually be able to get the fight he wanted out of it. Lifting off his feet the Anubian circled his opponent to be, examining not just his body but also his energy more closely. His form was similar to Sinthe’s own but if he was an Anubian himself Sinthe would know. They always knew.
’I can see though why you would be confused, I might have mistaken you for one of my kind were it not for your ki. I suppose if they were to grow more powerful it makes sense Demons would attempt to imitate us.’ At this level it was a pretty good imitation if he didn’t say so himself, anyone less informed would easily mistake one for the other or perhaps incorrectly conflate the two as being the same species. Having completed his inspection Sinthe floated back around to the jackal Demon’s front and leaned over to one side in the air as though resting, even propping up his chin on one hand.
’My name is Lord Sinthe and I happen to be looking for something to test my powers against.’ He wondered if in the Demon Realm as well his name had faded from history to a point beyond even myth. Demons had longer lives and longer memories than the vast majority of mortal races but honestly he didn’t expect much. He didn’t imagine “there was this demi-God that came along one day and wrecked all our best fighters” would be a tale for the ages amongst Demonkind. Was a fun day though. Well, fun morning really. ’You’re not exactly what I was expecting, but there again you seem to be a great deal more powerful than the average Demon. I think you’d be about right for a warm up, don’t you?’WC: 427

Heizen smiled at the Jackal's reply - it seemed he had a rather high opinion of himself. So he wasn't a Demon... it was funny he looked much like this person. What was the opposite of a demon though, a mortal? Nah that couldn't be it. Heizen tilted his head to the side listening to the Anubian speak. He suddenly recalled what a villager had told him the first day he had come back (after he had slayed the Demon Namekian Class). The religious belief of the humans in "Demons" based off those of his kind who had visited the Earth since its inception (possibly even dating back to his ancestors the first possible demon settlers). Demons were all believed to be evil creatures that did nothing but destroy, pillage, and violate humanity. And then there were Angels and Gods above them who protected the humans from such vile creatures. "So which do you claim to be? An Angel or a God- as the humans would call it?" he sincerely asked with that still ever widespread grin of his.
"Perhaps we were made in your kind's image. Though I must admit I find it hard to believe you are a God. Your power is finely superior to my own, but I have felt even greater energy on this planet," he stated rather bluntly. There were Saiyans in particular who were capable of generating such energy that the planet could barely contain it. Most noticeably the Saiyan Overseer Nasu. Gods had been described as an all-powerful force. And though this creature was powerful - there were those who could defeat him the Demon was sure. Unless God was not all-powerful? Such things were beyond the Demon's understanding however. He still had a ways to go himself as understanding such things.
When introducing himself the Jackal added on a title "Lord" to his name that sparked the Demon's interest. Lord Sinthe, eh? Very well. His power was well enough that Heizen could respect such a title, and Heizen could feel even more energy under the surface. This creature was very strong he was sure. Though the name didn't ring a bell. A part of him felt he should know it however the reason could not resonate with him. "Very well. Hello, Lord Sinthe. I am Heizen. They call me the Jackal Demon," he introduced himself with a bow. "Your power is well above my own, but I figured I could serve as a decent competitor for some sport. After all, what better way for me to improve than to engage with one's betters?" he complimented. Heizen was rude but was not above giving respect where it was due. After all this creature was no enemy to him. At least not yet assuming he hadn't incurred its wrath with his previous comment.
Heizen readied his stance. Floating in mid air the demon kept one arm bent back at his side with his fingers curled into a fist, and the other arm level with his face and his fingers loose. He nodded at the Jackal's question. "I'll make sure I'm a little more than that," he said with some confidence as his dark blue aura began to swell up in an incandescent glow. With the open hand he motioned the Anubian to come face him.
So it seemed that this Demon had a reasonable estimation of his own powers after all, he wanted to find someone worthy just like Sinthe did, only for his part he wanted someone stronger to help him surpass his own limits. Sinthe was more interested in a dead heat but if he held back a little he could make this work well enough for both of them. He gave an almost coy smile at the jackal demon’s further questions regarding his own origin. The overwhelming temptation was to tell it how it was and say that he “claimed” nothing, he simply was. That would threaten to derail this thing that they seemed to have going though and Sinthe was too riled up already to tolerate much more beating about the bush.
In response to Heizen’s readiness however he took no stance, indeed he showed no outward sign of aggression. The only real indication that he might be readying up to attack would come from his ki which radiated out from him, cloying and heavy, into the surrounding area. The Demon had felt it before certainly, that was what had drawn him in to begin with, but it was a very different thing to only feel the energy of an Anubian as opposed to having all that power and will focused squarely on you. Lesser fighters he bawked and broke down at the realization but he didn’t suppose that Heizen would. The energy itself might be completely new to him but their powers were of a comparable level, at least at this percentage anyway.
Even so, he should have the opportunity to get a taste and a feel of it before they began in earnest.
’Well, we’ll see about that wont we?’ His voice seemed to drop an octave or two as he posed the rhetorical, ki suddenly withdrawing and flaring up only immediately around him as the jackal demon beckoned him forward, Very well, if he wanted Sinthe to make the first move then a first move he would have.
Looking to set the tone early Sinthe went right at his opponent, no subtlety and very little poise in his movements he rushed Heizen, making to slam a knee into his midsection before rising above him and smashing him down with an axe handle blow. If his opponent was going to grow as he wished then a show of force early on would be for the best, if he was shown that he couldn’t confront Sinthe directly then he’d have to depend on technique over raw force.WC:427 Melee Attack:4,099 PL

Heizen was amused by the Jackal's confidence. He was cocky, but Heizen had to admit he was rightfully so. His power was awesome, and it made the Demon nervous. Heizen prepared himself for the Anubian's assault, and was quite surprised at how quick he was. Thankfully he was ready. Sinthe rushed him so fast, but having figured out the Anubian's rather direct and lack of subtlety in his attack, it was evadable. Heizen shifted his body to his left in a perfect evasion of the incoming attack. Assuming the Anubian continued his assault and flew above him for the axe handle blow: Heizen would fly backward leaving the Anubian's strike hitting dead air. Heizen at the very least had the combat senses to avoid the Anubian's attacks despite the power gap. Perhaps this would allow him the ability to test the Jackal's reflexes and force him to work a little harder. "Gotta work a little harder, Lord Sinthe," the Demon said with a grin. He was happy he had evaded the attack. The Jackal knew that this guy had more tricks to show him, but he would take even more joy in bringing them out.
Heizen then charged the Anubian in an attempt to gain a blow himself. Maybe his speed would allow him to get at least one shot in. Once he was within range the Jackal Demon began a quick combo of a hook punch to the Jackal's left cheek with one hand; following it up with a smashing punch to the stomach. They each had sufficient power in them from Heizen and his growing power - so perhaps they would do something.
This Jackal Demon certainly seemed to be able to move well, it was not unusual for fighters from certain races to be a tad underdeveloped when it came to such things, having a great deal of natural power but not much else to speak of. He was glad then that this was not the case, even if he could have found himself a new sparring partner after… disposing of this one it would still have put something of a downer on the whole endeavor and would more than likely have soured him on the idea. Striking nothing but empty air on both occasions didn’t even bother him, it only meant that he had made the right decision and he smiled.
It seemed as though his partner wasn’t done though as he too came in for an attack, nice to know he wasn’t at all intimidated, if he were it would have made for a boring game of cat and mouse all told. Not that this attack was much of a problem, as Sinthe’s parry of the first blow demonstrated. Drawing a hand across his body he swept Heizen’s hook aside with a backhand but naturally the Jackal was not done and in such close quarters Sinthe was forced to guard his midsection by raising his knee. Holding fast, straining against the force of Heizen’s blow he continued to grin at his opponent, surprised quite honestly that he was giving him such a good run around.
’You ARE actually worth more than just a warm up,’ he observed, ’But I’d hardly say that this was your best.’ Pushing himself off of Heizen he floated back a few feet, calculating, reassessing the best way to approach. But it seemed to him that was the wrong mindset, baiting him forward would be much better. ’You’re not bad with your fists but I’m a bit more interested in your ki, seeing as how you've already had a small sample of mine how about you return the favour?’WC: 333 Blocked Heizen's attack for 4,099 PL

Heizen shouldn't have been so impressed by the way the Anubian just shrugged off his attacks like they were nothing. After all he could feel the Anubian's great power and how it so easily eclipsed his own. But he found this to be a pleasant experience. This would surely help him grow into something greater than himself. This would be a great challenge for him and he looked forward to seeing more of Sinthe's power. The Demon said nothing in response to the Anubian's comments - nothing but that still grin expression plastered onto the Demon's face. Heizen was glad to be seen as noteworthy. It made him feel adequate. When it came to the business of his ki - the Jackal Demon nodded. "Alright. As you wish," he finally spoke up before retreating back into that same old giddy smile. Extending but a single hand as his dark blue ki surrounded him fiercely, Heizen began to focus that ki in his palm. As small specks of orange-energy began to make a ball just outside of the palm of his hand (shining with a bright incandescence): Heizen would soon fire a barrage of ki blasts all at once. The orange-yellowish balls would travel swiftly to meet his opponent. Should the Jackal be silly enough to let them hit him - they would explode and cause decent damage the Demon thought.
The more likely scenario was that he was going to effortlessly dodge this though.

Used:
[OT-1] Demon Ball Barrage The user extends a single hand while charging yellow-orange energy. He then launches multiple energy blasts toward a single opponent that explode to inflict damage. [Deals 25% PL Damage: 16,482 PL]
Sinthe’s well laid trap seemed as though it was going to pan out perfectly , if the firing stance were not enough of an indication then the fluctuation of his opponent’s ki was more than enough to indicate an attack. Mirroring Heizen’s stance almost exactly Sinthe prepared himself. What he had planned was an old trick from bygone days but it was one which wasn’t exactly easy to pull off, so much so that he hadn’t even tried it yet having fallen so far from his old peak. He smiled as the blasts leapt like so many fireflies from his opponent’s palm but his smile quickly changed to a look of dawning surprise and then shock.
Too much, he realized almost too late. It’s too much! Breaking his stance it was all he could do now that the first wave was so close to him to cover up and let them strike against his defenses. It had been quite some while since anyone had been able to blast Sinthe and actually hit him, the last person had been Negi and if he had been a little more powerful the results of that fight would have been much, much different. In contrast these ones hurt like Hell (strangely appropriate) but the damage was thankfully minimal.
As the last of the blasts struck home Sinthe lowered his guard away from his face to be greeted by the sight of impenetrable smoke, he doubted very much that Heizen could not sense he was still there, but at the very least it bought him a few precious seconds to plan out his next move. As he made to move forward though he bowed forwards as pain shot through his body again. Still nothing life threatening, but it seemed that the damage he had taken was a touch less minimal than he had at first thought. Panting and sighing he straightened up as the smoke finally blew away and faced his opponent again.
’It seems then that I must revise my previous statement. I had intended to use your own attack against you and yet it proved too much too fast. Quite apart from being a warm up you’re actually dangerous.’ And from here on out he would treat Heizen as being just so dangerous, though he kept that part to himself. In spite of the damage evident in the scuffs and burns here and there across his body and clothes Sinthe seemed to still be in good humour. In fact he seemed more lively even as he raised his hand in response. Pointing one finger towards Heizen he formed a similar glowing ball of ki on its tip.
Drawing back his fingertip he tapped it against the orb, causing it to explode outwards as a fine beam of ki aimed straight for Heizen’s torso.WC:470 Blocked Heizen's attack for 4,099, took 12,382 PL in damage.

Heizen's eyes widened immensely as the blasts overwhelmed the mighty Anubian creating small explosions in the air. A slight draft blew past him as the force of the blast created a brief burst in air pressure. The Anubian obviously must have underestimated Heizen's power for some reason, as he should have been more than capable of dodging such an attack. Alas Heizen couldn't really complain. This worked to his favor. He stood there waiting with that grin just ever wider. As the smoke eventually cleared he saw the Anubian a little bruised and slightly burned up in a couple of places but mostly fine. He could easily still keep going. "To be frank - I didn't expect to hit with that attack," the Demon said with a shrug, though he was a little proud of himself as evident by his expression. "I'm impressed you tanked it without anything but a few scratches however. Your power is truly frightening," he admitted. If that's how much damage when he took a nearly direct attack from him head on, then he didn't even want to think about what would happen to him if he dared to take a hit like that himself. The red eyed Demon stared intensively as the Jackal begin to power up himself. He sensed some intensive ki being charged, and based off the fact that the Jackal was discharging it at the point of the finger - it most likely meant it was going to be a small beam. That would hopefully minimize the damage output it could do. He prepped himself ready to dodge...
But it was much faster than he could have predicted.
The yellow beam crashed right into his left shoulder as he attempted to dodge- just barely getting hit by the attack as it passed right through his black flesh and out the other end. The Jackal Demon let out a yelp of pain as he began to descend to the ground below. "Ouch shit. That hurt," he muttered to himself. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised." The Demon then placed a hand on the shoulder and rowed it, wincing in pain as he did so. "That attack was good. If I let that hit my torso I might actually be critically wounded. That's no attack to take lightly," he admitted once again. He then smiled once more as he began to cross his arms. "Alright. I think I'll be okay... Are you ready for another round?" he asked.
[Took the 20k+ hit head on like a doofus. XD He is now moderately injured but can still go on.] [Stamina =3/3 (got +1 from no stamina techs]
Of course if he had given himself more time and not been trying to show off that attack wouldn’t have been able to hit, it would have been a bit of a stretch sure, but he decided to keep that to himself. An opponent riding high on an unexpected turn was always more fun than one who thought that you were only toying with them, that was the rule of thumb anyway, with some you could only weedle out those last dregs of power by making a mockery of the fight. Heizen though seemed to have come prepared for a fight in the first place.
Having struck home with his attack he raised his hand to his face, blowing the lingering light smoke of its energy discharge from around his claw as though he were in a spaghetti western. Seemed as though it was surprises all around since he hadn’t expected THAT attack to strike and certainly didn’t expect that it would bore right through his opponents flesh. It was a shock actually, but Sinthe didn’t allow it to reach his face, instead playing the haughty godling that he was so good at being.
Still, he thought, he might have overcooked that one. He’d meant for it to hurt sure, but he hadn’t really expected that it would go right through. Perhaps Demons were not quite so resilient as he thought, he would have to readjust his attacks to compensate and not end their battle too quickly. That said, even with such an injury Heizen was more than willing to recommence their fight and he admired that. Perhaps it was not fair to either party to use the Jackal as a mean to draw generalizations about “most Demons” when he appeared to be fairly atypical. His form gave that away to begin with, but the more that Sinthe learned about the quality of his character and the breadth of his power the more he was impressed. Sufficed to say he was starting to like this one.
’I was waiting on you anyway,’ Sinthe chuckled, of course he was ready for another round. He hadn’t just had new holes blown in him. ’But do you really think that you can fight ME with that injury?’ Giving Heizen something of a reprieve, Sinthe decided to ho back to basics for the next exchange, but his switch back to hand-to-hand wasn’t nearly all that merciful since he approached from the side that he’d already weakened. Throwing quick if not very powerful volleys of punches, Sinthe continued to circle around towards Heizen’s damaged flank before finally picking his moment and smashing a kick into his side.WC: 442 More Melee: 4,099

Heizen wondered why he still bothered trying to prove himself to this Anubian. Perhaps he just didn't like being so outclassed in strength and felt he needed to feel like he wasn't so far behind. Suusao had certainly gotten in his head, after all. Sinthe seemed obliged to continue, though he was skeptical about Heizen's injury it would seem. The black demon would look at him with a grin, obviously trying to put on a show. It did sting quite a bit, but he refused to show weakness. "It's nothing more than flesh. I've suffered far worse," he said truthfully. He had been in countless battles and endured much greater tortures than this measly injury. He would be fine. He was a warrior of the Demon Realm, a growing prodigy in a once prestigious Demon Clan. He would not let himself be patronized.
Sinthe came in at full speed, but this time Heizen was more than ready for him. Heizen shifted from side to side in response to the Anubian's barrage of punches. The Jackal was mischievous in trying to take advantage of Heizen's injury, but he couldn't exactly say he wouldn't do the same. "Trying to take advantage of my weak spot?" Heizen chimed as he backed away a significant amount from the incoming roundhouse kick to his vulnerable side. The demon grinned mischievously. Gripping his fist tightly as ki swelled up inside of him - Heizen's blue aura would surround him intensely as a good concentration of ki swirled up inside of him. He was taking this a little more seriously. Releasing his fist- nothing seemed to happen. But suddenly an explosion of ki underneath Sinthe would burst outward as his ki combusted the environment. He hoped Sinthe had a manner of blocking this attack - for it would sting even one like him.
Heizen was getting serious... he had something to prove after all.

Demons it seemed had some rather interesting techniques, though equally it might be that Heizen was the exception which proved the rule of their more usual mundanity and honestly the more that they fought the more Sinthe was beginning to believe this the case. It wasn’t so much that he was unlike any other Demon Sinthe had ever met, he now realized, more that he was a perfect storm of their more appealing qualities. If he weren’t ever so slightly offended by the mere fact of the Jackal Demon’s appearance then he might be inclined to go easy on him.
The Demon would find presently that he was not so inclined.
With not very much time to spare his options were limited, it was not more than a split second before the area around him was exploding, so he figured that doing likewise would be the way to go. Drifting backwards as though he were going to make a run for it, he bought himself another moment or so in order to gather his ki, drawing his arms and legs in towards the centre of his body before throwing them out along with his gathered power. He pushed onwards, outwards as he felt the clash with Heizen’s own ki, drawing upon the dregs of his power, such as it was to push the blast down, push it back and further to push his own raging energy on toward Heizen himself.
’Not enough, Heizen!’ He called out to his opponent above the din of their individual attacks. ’Something of this caliber… it’s not nearly enough to reach me now!’ Heizen probably knew well enough that there was little to no chance that he could overcome going in, even if he were not able to intuit that Sinthe had still managed to hold back quite a bit of his power. He’d strived to keep in step though so it was only right that now the Anubian responded with a greater measure of force. Even if he were to struggle and not overcome, Heizen seemed to him the sort of fighter that would enjoy exhausting his power and techniques against a worthy foe. If he were able, Sinthe would like to drag every last one out of him, for him it was only a question of how much he would need to power up in order to do so.WC: 401 [OT-2] Super Explosive Wave The user expels ki from their entire body in order to throw back any enemies in their vicinity. [Yeesh. RIP Heizen. 8024 Damage coming his way from the leftover of that clash.]
Heizen was counting on that attack to do some decent damage to him, or at least make him expend some energy. Heizen had powered a lot of energy into that attack, and hoped the surprise factor would have been enough to catch Lord Sinthe off guard. It was clear that Lord Sinthe had years of experience as a fighter, perhaps having faced a multitude of tricks throughout his years. That meant no matter how hard Heizen tried he wouldn't come up with a way to beat him in this duel. That annoyed him. He didn't like this feeling of inferiority. He simply just was never going to beat this guy. At least not today. And that became apparent when Sinthe's energy released itself.
How powerful was this creature? Lord Sinthe was met with a large upsurge of the Demon's energy, and yet with little to no effort he generated enough energy to both counter and overpowered the Demon. Heizen couldn't even block. The pressure of his energy had been too much - sending the Demon flying back over ten meters from the sheer pressure alone. The concussive force wounded him but he was still relatively okay. "Ngh," he grunted to himself, as he was clearly unamused. "Alright Lord Sinthe... I'll give you my signature attack. Tell me what you think...," he stated to the Anubian, though his face no longer bore the giddy smile of prior. Extending a single hand as his ki flowed through him and the dark blue aura surrounded him once more- Heizen conjured an orb of that same dark blue light in the palm of his hand. Sinthe would likely feel its power- as Heizen prepared an attack that was seemingly minimal. But with each second it was growing...
And soon it might even impress him.

Again. Heizen had withstood his attack again. Granted the impact was somewhat blunted by a brief clash with Heizen’s attack, but even so his injuries while minor were beginning to pile up. There really was something about this Demon in particular he had decided. Even though he could not draw wider conclusions from this single encounter between his techniques, his poise, his tenacity and physical endurance were to be admired though as he’d done so before Sinthe would keep quiet any overt praise that he had for his opponent.
’Very well,’ he replied, acknowledging Heizen’s ultimatum without a hint of the prior smarm in his voice. It seemed that he was about ready to properly honour his opponent and if Heizen were about ready to draw the trump card from his bag of tricks then he had just the way to do it. Considering the mounting power which he felt in the Demon’s gathering energy it might be the wisest course of action to boot. ’I’m afraid you’ve already seen mine.’ Lifting one hand he pointed a finger-pistol in the Demon’s direction, cocking his arm back as if from recoil to illustrate the technique he meant. He didn’t expect that someone like Heizen would flinch at this, but he wouldn’t blame him. As they said, once bitten.
’Well anyway, I suppose if it’s you I can show a little of what I’m like when I get serious.’ The Anubian dragged his hands back over his head as he spoke, smoothing down his ears after the manner of slicking one’s hair back, but when he cast his eyes on Heizen again all the joviality seemed to have gone out of him. Though his eyes held no contempt there was neither a flicker of warmth or civility in them, if the sudden spike in his ki were not enough to signal that he was about ready to start playing for keeps then the change in his manner would drive the point home.
