The lobby was getting warmer again.
A sign that she had stood here, just a minute too long, staring with a frown at where the Namekian had taken his leave. For her proposal to be rejected, unlikely as it might have been to be accepted, still stung.
That human side of her was still around, no matter what disposition she had shown towards their fight, and this side of her wanted to have some peace alone, before having to entertain both of her minions in a sparring session.
A contrast to what she had told the two earlier, but not one they could do much about. The Saiyan liked to act on her own interest, but not to the point where the younger girl would really drag her away from being at her leisure.
While the Majin, with or without her around, was going to be able to train no matter what. It was just beneficial for her to go up against the two, seeing as how she was at a higher level of gravity than the both of them were.
Besides, those two still had to clean up the earlier mess the Namekian had made, from his lungs taking too much pressure under that weight of gravity. Turning away from the door with a sigh, she headed down the halls, where around the corner was both the staircase leading up to the next floor, as well as the hall towards the gravity room.
Her gaze couldn't help but take a look in that direction, as if expecting for one of those two to come retrieve her. But those thoughts were pushed to the back of her mind, as the hall became out of sight. Rather than go to their jacuzzi room, like she normally would, she had instead gone straight to her private quarters, knowing she would just work up a sweat again later. Though much larger, it didn't look too different from the house she had grew up in.
Nor did it really need to be. She was rather content and adjusted with having things where she had expected them to be. The room was dark, with only a light peeking in from the windows of a private bathroom, as well as a corner of the room, showing what was left of the outside sun. But she wouldn't need the lights to be on. Her eyes were sharp enough to make out where she was walking, and where things were. She wasn't planning on doing much at the moment either.
The sound of running water was what had filled the silence of the room, her hands running underneath the water, as she splashed some over her face, cooling it. What feeling the change in temperature gave her was rather dull, as it brushed against her skin, and had been ever since becoming a Vampire. A part of her was no longer like a human.
It was supposed to be a good thing. For her body to somewhat dull what she was able to feel, certainly had its advantages. But what humanity she still had, wished that this water didn't just feel lukewarm to her.
Desired that it was easier to gather allies who she saw as competent, rather than having to go search for them in conditions she wasn't used to, like the Cold North. Silence filled up the room again, as the running water had stopped, and she walked over to her bed, without even making the effort to wipe her face with a towel.
Leaning against the wall on her bed, her legs pulled closed to her chest, there was no warmth to really be had at the moment. It would build up, but like everything else that she had touched, it was dull. With this failure in finding a third ally, they would be forced to return to her home of West City, without any new visible changes to this group.
Her plans to gain power for herself, would be delayed, pushing any growth back. For just how long would the universe wait for her to rise up in power, catching up what she had missed? How long before they were seen as targets?
The water that remained on her face, she had began to actually feel its cold, which at this point of staying on her, felt more like tears. Ones which she wiped away, and with it, had came that bit of warmth that she was hoping for.
Being human was something she had seen as a weakness. To the point where occasionally, even in moments like these, she felt as if she was out of touched. That what was left of her humanity was just some kind of ruse. For someone with her kind of power to be at the mercy of something like rejection, was one that should have been absolutely appalling.
But the thing was, it wasn't. It felt right for her to have this kind of failure on her hands. She wanted to actually use it as a drive to lead her to bigger and better things. That Namekian to reject her offer, was supposed to be a mistake that would fill him with regret. Because those she planned on associating with in the future, she saw as part of only two sides. One which worked to either be a resource she could pool from, or one which was in her way.
To be on the wrong side, was a decision those apart of it would truly come to learn was a mistake. With the army she had in mind for herself in the future, the idea of abiding by what was fair and what wasn't, could only be blamed by those not with her charge. She was a leader through and through, but just yet unable to publicly demonstrate it.
Hopping off of her bed and stretching to relieve what pain she had suffered against that Nemkian, she couldn't help but recognize that it had gotten warmer. If she were to guess, she had cuddled up a bit too much for warmth.
Touching the injuries that ran along her forearm, there was slight pain which only increased as she added more pressure into it. That sharp stinging would be enough to drive an average human to tears and begging for mercy.
But being a seasoned Vampire, her tolerance was a lot better than most. Lightly running her hand over it for a brief few seconds, she left her room with a sigh. It mattered not how long she had spent time in there. Be it fifteen minutes, or an hour. Those two knew she was true to her word, and would meet them there before the day's end.
The descent down the staircase wasn't much different than the climb up. Failure wasn't something which would lead her to a state where she couldn't properly walk. If anything, all it did was cloud her mind and the progress she was at.
But she had things back under control at the moment, and a more physical outlet like fighting, would help much more than going things over in her head. The silence of the mansion was one that had been quickly replaced by that of training, as what had sounded like blasts of ki came from within the room, along with panting and grunts.
Stepping inside, she found the Majin's body had become mass of flesh, which caught the ki thrown at the other girl, and formed over it, as quick as it could. But Saiyans could be persistent, and she knew firsthand that the younger girl wouldn't make it easy for the Majin, who had to split half of her side to keep from being on just defensive.
The assaults had suddenly halted however, after the two had noticed her presence. It was a peculiar sight, to watch a Saiyan fidget another launch, and even more so to watch the Majin reform her body into something more visibly human.
"You took too long."
Between bated breaths of what was clearly fatigue, her youngest ally had spoke out, and in a way that made her believe the girl was implying that she wanted to ask in the first place. Which was far from being a concern of hers.
If these two wanted to get started before she had, then it just meant that going against them would be easier. Walking within the gravity machine's range, a bit of pressure had been placed onto her body, although one which was only slightly below what her current gravity level was. These two still were trying to play catch up with her.
As her body adjusted to this new pressure, she had sped over to the gravity machine, where the dial had been turned to times fourteen of earth's gravity. Upping it to twenty, the impact had become rather apparent, as standing back up had became more difficult, and the injuries on her arm didn't take too long to become apparent to her dull senses.
"Well we'll be going up to twenty for this. If you can't handle it, then it just means that I win.
Turning back to face the two, she found their bodies shaking, compared to her own struggles with just moving her limbs. The younger Saiyan, at her taunting, gritted her teeth, that aura of hers flaring out. What pressure this gravity was inducing, would be countered by the other girl's own, creating almost a barrier of sorts.
The Majin hadn't done anything similar, only seeming to silently fume while trying to get her body used to the gravity. But that wasn't something which time would allow, seeing the Saiyan charge forward, her hands glowing.
They weren't supposed to use ki while in here. That was really the only rule beyond not causing a death. They all knew what would happen if the attacks weren't caught the same way the Majin had took them. Whether or not it was a bluff, it was still an action that the girl was taking, and one which needed to be countered with that of her own.
Like the Saiyan, her own ki was flared out, and as she took her own steps forward to throw what would be several basic punches, the weight of the gravity around her felt like it had buckled. As if she had somehow been able to prop it up, just enough for her to move around at the moment, the way that she had intended to do so. With superior speed.
What gap they had started out with closed with her movements, and the hand the Saiyan had used, revealed itself to be a feint that caught one of her hands, while both of their other hands had gone and intercepted the other's attempts.
What punches she had delivered with her other hand were punched back or caught, with the both of them steadily moving backwards or forwards, depending on who had the upper hand at the moment. It was very much like their first fight.
If there was one thing that continued to remain the same, whether she was a Vampire or not, is that feeling of anticipation. To an extent, she could reason what was going to come for her. Or expected it to, really.
But she hadn't forgotten about the Majin either. Backing out with another block from the girl, she had narrowly been struck by the girl's outstretched limbs, which latched onto the Saiyan instead. Her attempts to continue moving away, had stopped as that weight of gravity felt like it just collapsed. Though she hadn't been the only one.
Both she and the Saiyan had relatively exerted the same amount of energy, and the drawbacks that came with not being used to this extra weight, became rather apparent. She wasn't frozen in place, but her movements were definitely back to being sluggish. Though something like this wouldn't be enough to stop the fight. Far from it, actually.
The stinging coming from her knuckles, and the sharp bouts of pain from the pressure of the gravity, was one which reminded her of just how much she had left to grow in power. She had improved earlier, with her fight against the Namekian, but it clearly hadn't been enough. For that to change, she had to push through against this gravity.
There were so many levels of gravity left to reach, that when she looked back at this training in the future, twenty times gravity would be child's play. Already, the ten times gravity she had gotten so adjusted to, seemed to be that way. It was slow, but she had managed to move back some distance, her gaze onto the two she considered opponents.
They were in a similar predicament that would be laughable, had she not been dealing with this herself. The Majin was having a lot more luck with her ability to reform mass where she wanted it to be, while the Saiyan was drawing out what energy she had in her to create another support against the pressure that this level of gravity was giving off.
The two had it much worse than her, with this being a big jump from the fourteen times gravity they were training at early. But that was what was serving to be her advantage, knowing that she was able to move more freely than they could hope. Another likeness to her first encounter with the Saiyan, was having events do a turnabout.
While the younger girl was able to be the first to launch an attempted strike, she had been the one to recover first. The use of ki wasn't one which was allowed around here, unless any of them were confident the blow would be caught.
With what energy she had, which was reminiscent of having to yank her arm around to even go anywhere, she had charged up a sphere of ki in both of her hands. It wouldn't be a flurry like she wanted, knowing this would be a perfect opportunity to do so, if she only could, but it would do. One after another, the orbs were thrown at the two.
Like getting suddenly struck or ambushed, it had quite the force behind it. Enough to knock the younger girl down, while the Majin had used her mass of flesh to just absorb it into her body, leaving the both of them the only ones standing at the moment. She so wanted to taunt the Saiyan for falling, or the Majin for just taking the hit.
But they all knew it wasn't something that would be well-deserved. Not when they were mostly all equal under this new bout of gravity. Things could easily change at any moment. Her reason for not stopping with the launch of those two spheres of ki, and mustering what she could to give a similar treatment of punches to be directed at the Majin.
Without her speed, it was rather noticeable where her movements could lead to. There was no afterimages following, or some blur hiding away her intentions. But there wasn't a real need to hide what she was doing under this level of gravity. It was just the three of them hitting each other to the point of exhaustion. To use each other as outlets.
The punches she sent to the Majin had sunk into that mass of flesh, which pulled at her arms, making it increasingly more difficult to pull away at each strike. Enough to where one of her arms just sunk in, her hand still able to move around, and just barely able to clutch from within. The pain that the girl was likely feeling from this assault, was one that couldn't be hidden by the seething rage in those eyes. Not a word had been spoken by the girl since starting.
Whether it was cause of exhaustion, knowing that it was later in the day, or the Majin already saying her piece with fighting against the Saiyan when she had been at her leisure, it was difficult to say. That had always been the difference between the girl and the Saiyan. There was always that fuming rage. That bit of life, compared to the younger girl's cold and empty ones, when something didn't involve some kind of act of violence taking place.
Pulling at the insides of the girl, as it became more and more inevitable of her hands being stuck within, she could feel that mass of flesh clamping down at her, as the girl's expressions turned to one of pain. But that light of hers didn't die out, and the attempts she could only assume were meant to cause her to stop, only continued.
Her arms were now feeling light rather than heavy, until she might as well had been pulled away from this feeling, as she was struck in the back. The mass of flesh that was the Majin, kept her from falling forward, allowing the younger Saiyan to deliver her own blows. Her body jolted with each strike like some bump on the road, and left with it the struggle to even stand. This was meant to be the thing that would drive her to exhaustion. It sure felt like it.
The impact behind it however, didn't have as much strength behind it as it could. What strength she imagined would have normally been enough to have her pass out. That would have been both one of relief and her own embarrassment.
Never had she lost any of their sparring sessions. It had always been both sides being driven to a point of exhaustion, to where they were all in agreement that going on would have them bedridden longer than a few days.
What she was feeling now, was just as good as anything to remind her that she still had humanity, and that she wasn't the unbeatable force that she hoped to become. In what felt much longer than it actually was, the strikes of ki started to die down, and the hold that the Majin had on her, was starting to become increasingly looser.
The sounds of panting starting to become more audible in her ears, and although she had fell to her knees, she hadn't been the only one. Her Majin ally had fell back as if she had been shoved, and she could only assume the Saiyan had been in a similar predicament. She doubted either of them were really on the verge of passing out. Just exhausted.
But what mattered was that she had won.
