History:
Age 1563, the loud cry of a baby was heard echoing throughout the royal hallways. The queen had given birth to her first child,
a baby boy, the official heir to her throne. Though it wasn't as rare as it used to be, Athren's eyes weren't pitch black like the average saiyans. His eyes were a beautiful ocean blue but this wasn't the only difference. The saiyan prince had a tail with a grey colour instead of the usual brown, he was a unique case for the race. Regardless of all of this, he instantly had a calling. He was his mothers successor, he was to be a king of the planet Vegeta when her time had come. That was his future, that was the destiny he was born upon.
a baby boy, the official heir to her throne.
Unluckily for Athren he was born at a rough time for the saiyan empire, by the time that Athren had turned two the empire had began losing territories to the Planet Trade Organization. Given the circumstance of wearing out resources that saiyans are incapable of fighting another war. It was also at the age of two that Athren had been sent to conquer a distance planet. It's population was of an insect like creature. It had taken Athren a whole six months to conquer the planet with the assistance of a false moon projection from his ship and his Oozaru transformation. Even though Athren had been of royal blood his mother didn't wish to spoil the traditional tasks that their babies were given. She wanted him to be bred into a proper warrior, there wasn't going to be any mercy given to her son simply because he was born as a prince. Though Athren's mission had been a success it wasn't until the age of five that he would return home. When Athren finally returned home he wasn't given much of a warm welcome from his mother. Though his people were grateful to have him return she instantly put him back into another combat situation. She had assigned her best fighter to train him in the most brutal methods possible.
Age 1,578 arrives. Athren is now fifteen years old. He has spent the last ten years being trained by Zaleio. This training wasn't easy, Athren was pushed to his limits time and time again and he continued to break them. He was becoming the young warrior that his mother had expected him to become. Things were going well for Athren up until the invasion force had arrived. For a majority of the war Athren had been active. He had mostly managed to stay on his feet and take out all of the ones whom confronted him. Leading up to the events of the final battle between his mother and the one known as Natto, Athren had been knocked out. When he awoke he had learned about his mothers ending.
It was in that moment that Athren had realized it was his time to shine, it was his time to take up the saiyan empire and rebuild it. It was all on his shoulders to make the saiyan empire strong again. It was all on him. His whole life he had been put to tests physically. It was all to make him strong. When he was involved in his mothers politics he learned how to lead a race yet there was doubt.
Athren was only fifteen. He wasn't ready for that. He needed to build up his strength and his maturity before sitting where his mother did.
Therefore Athren had made a decision. He had heard of the stories of Earth. The saiyan's who had spent time there had grown incredibly in power and skill. There was a variety of creatures and races to fight with and the terrain had much to offer. That's where he had headed.
Age 1,585. Athren had found himself being twenty two. He still stood amongst the Earthlings. The planet Earth had softened him up slightly though his saiyan pride remained. He was still a brutal warrior, he wouldn't hesitate to kill nor wipe out an entire race. He had spent the last seven years here, preparing himself for his return to his people. When he was ready to go back, he would insure that he would be the best ruler that their race had ever seen. He wouldn't allow his people to crumble once more. When he thought of his home Planet, He often thought of the few friends he had and how everyone would react to his return. Surely, it'd be a historic day.
The day the true heir to the throne returns, Athren was positive it'd be a welcomed day indeed.
Though unfortunately for the Prince, things didn't go as expected. His time on Earth had expired due to a darker path that he decided to take. You see, Athren would've met a lot of people during his time on Earth and even found himself caring about them and of course this was a mutual fact. Hell, he even managed to get an earthling female pregnant, who would've thought? This wasn't where he went wrong though and this wasn't where his path went dark. Somehow, that was all the brightness and good in his life and it was steering him to be a better person, it was steering him to abandon his people and his pride and live a normal life on Earth. Though that all changed in a matter of hours.
There had come a legendary day in Athren's timeline that gave him the ultimate choice, darkness or light, good or evil and he might've made the wrong one. You see, the situation wasn't so black and white either and being a prince of a race made things more complicated. When it all came down to the choice, Athren had to choose whether or not to fight against those who cared about him, the ones he also greatly cared for or he needed to fight against his own people. His own people would've been a figure he saw as a younger brother and one named Nasu. Koma and Nasu had been brothers and naturally, Koma would've been on Nasu's side the whole way and whether it was his pride or something else that steered him to fight along side his race, he didn't know but he couldn't risk having Koma killed over something so foolish. Durning Athren's efforts in the fight, he would've found himself with a dark, evil hatred that would've consumed him and transformed him into a monster. He used this power to try and render his opponents useless but he failed, before he could do that the enemy would've joined together and unleashed a massive energy attack that would've taken his life and sent the poor bastard straight to hell. If it wasn't for the bond Athren had made and one that he looked too as a little brother, Athren would've died right then and there but Koma had a different plan. In his great ape form Koma had gotten himself in front of the blast and taken it head on, it cut him down and slaughtered the boy right there and the remaining energy had struck Athren like lightning, but it wasn't over yet.
Popping a Senzu bean Athren had regained his strength and power and was ready to continue the fight but this wasn't about right or wrong, this wasn't about his race or himself. This wasn't about winning or losing. This fight had turned into revenge and Athren had just enough emotional confliction to bring out the True Super Saiyan transformation to try and avenge his fallen little brother. Though he tried, he wasn't capable of doing it then and there. Nasu had worked out a deal with their enemies and the saiyan's had left that battle for another day. This left Athren with a heavy bag to carry, a weight that he wished he didn't need to carry. This had led him to make some of the worst choices yet.
The next few months would've been quite a wreck for the saiyan prince, he had felt responsible for what had happened to Koma and he felt like it was all on him. Athren had found himself so cloaked in anger and booze that he didn't even know who he was anymore, he wanted to fight and drink until he completely forgot about the clear image of Koma's death. Unfortunately, Athren couldn't clear that image out of his head. At this point in time, Athren would've found himself in such a terrible state that his memory of this time was limited. He remembered little detail as it had been irrelevant and insignificant to him the whole time. During these months though, Athren would've found himself confronting an enemy, one that would've made his Super Saiyan status irrelevant. Though Athren isn't capable of remembering much, he would've met an opponent that literally sent Athren straight to hell. It was an enemy Athren couldn't defeat and ended up losing his life too. It was a damn shame.
For a long time after that Athren would've remained in hell. There wasn't anything he could do about it, he couldn't escape it and therefore he didn't have anything but to stay. Given his time there, Athren had lost complete contact with the living world and even gave up on his training for a while. He was stuck there until he had been given the opportunity to get out... and so he did.

Planet Earth, it was beautiful in very many ways. It wasn't just the clean air or the beautiful oceans that made it the way it was. It wasn't even the forests or the animals, no. The Earth was beautiful because it always presented one with an opportunity to change, to be different and to create a new path. It offered very many things. The best was that it offered somebody the perfect opportunity to change. Though, the problem with that was how do you change when you don't even truly know who you were anymore? This would've been a thought bouncing around the Prince's head now that he had been back on Earth. He knew where his previous actions had led him and they had literally taken him straight to hell and back and it was a miracle that he had the opportunity to escape, but now that his eyes were once again gazing upon the beautiful, clear blue skies of the Earth it had been to good to be true. The only thing that Athren truly knew was that he was loyal to his race and his own damn bloodline. He figured his best choice was to follow the path that his parents had laid out for him but that wouldn't be so easy either. Maybe, maybe the most important thing he could've done at this point in time was self reflection. It was possible that finding himself and gathering intel on his environment was the best course of action. He didn't want to have the same outcome as previously, he wanted to live, he wanted to become the best. He didn't want to become the best for anybody but himself, but to do that he'd need to find himself and take a moment to reflect on how he got here, how he got back to both of his feet planets firmly on the soft, green grass of the Earth.
It wasn't a story like any other and it was something that Athren doubted any others had experienced in their lives. Now, Athren didn't need to focus on the past and what had gotten him sent straight to hell no, he needed to reflect on the way he got out and the second chance it provided him with. He didn't know how he was going to use this second chance but that's why he intended on finding himself. Did he want revenge? Yes, which saiyan wouldn't but that wasn't a priority. He felt as if this second chance was giving to him to he could rightful take his place on the throne of the saiyan empire and finally unite his people and make them grow stronger. This was a long shot at best, but it was an idea.
The important thing now though was looking back. You see, spending so much time in hell Athren really didn't get to keep up with his training, he didn't have any source of amusement and his life.. err... Deathly experience was one he didn't enjoy. Closing his eyes, Athren would've taken a moment to remember it all. It was miserable, it was pathetic, it was tormenting and he absolutely hated it. He was lucky to have a chance to get out. Now, if Athren had been sitting around a campfire around a group of those he knew, they would've asked him how, why? Well, Athren didn't know how to answer why yet but he sure knew how he got out.
You see, Athren's time in hell wasn't pleasant but after how many days, months, years, Athren had been in there somebody had seen his power and wanted the prince to work under him. This kind of work wasn't one that was free willed either, they wanted Athren as a fighting slave. Athren's kind of power didn't come around often and the demon who saw it, wanted Athren to do his dirty work. Athren of course being the saiyan he was, refused the offer at the start but that's when this demon, who Athren would've dubbed the 'Devil' would've made Athren a single offer. What was this offer you might ask? Well, it was an exchange of life that came down to the outcome of a fight. You see, this 'devil' had many strong fighters already on his side. Whether they had been brainwashed or corrupted by his powers was irrelevant, the point is he had plenty. This 'Devil' character had made Athren a very fine offer. The offer was this, if Athren could beat his best minion in a fight, the 'devil' would transfer the life of that minion to Athren's and provide with a portal back to Earth. The kicker was, if Athren would lose to this minion. He'd have to give up his own free will and allow this 'Devil' to control his mind, thus making Athren the slave he didn't want to be.
Now, for some his risk would've been way too high and they would've refused it immediately but after hearing that Athren potentially had a chance to get back to the world of the living he accepted it immediately. You see, when you're stuck in such a miserable place like hell.. well, your life couldn't get any worse. Athren needed a way out and if this was his only chance, well he'd take the god damn risk of it.
When the battle began and proceeded, things didn't look very good. Athren couldn't catch a break. He found himself out of shape and lacking in skill, he grew rusty in his time in hell and there was even a time when he didn't think he'd win. He began to get beat to a pulp, he began to break down and he was headed for the life of slavery. Hit after hit, Athren would've recieved many but landed few and all hope seemed lost but then it hit him. This was it, this was make it or break it. This would've been his only damn chance out of this hell hole! He needed to win, he couldn't lose! His thoughts ran wild and his emotions deep, all the pain and suffering he faced when he lost Koma came flaring out and he lit up that battlefield with the brightest light that his opponent had ever seen. Athren transformed into the True Super Saiyan.
After Athren's transformation had been complete the battle completely shifted onto his side. Athren beat his opponent to a pulp until they were rendered useless and incapable of fighting back. Athren was the victor and the 'Devil' simply just shook his head in disbelief. His best warrior had been beaten by a rusted, beat and broken saiyan warrior. Though he wasn't impressed a deal was a deal, his left hand hovered over his minion as his right had been aimed towards Athren. He literally ripped the life out of his own minion and transfered it to the young saiyan warrior. Athren now had his life back, he had his goals and opportunities again. He just needed to get home and with that thought in mind, the devil had opened a portal for Athren to go through that led him right back to Earth and sure enough, Athren would've did just that.
Reflecting on those events Athren would've smirked lightly. His iron will and saiyan determination pushed him through the hardest of tasks he had faced to this day and he succeeded. He got himself back home and back to Earth, he was ready to face the world again. "Home Sweet Home." The prince would've said in a tone of confidence as his aura flared up around him and he blasted off into the sky.
