A dark void. That was all the Jackal Demon felt inside of him, coursing through his body. He had no clan, no true home other than whatever spot he slept in for the night. Mortos was dead. His vengeance was complete. He knew not what to do now. He was alone. His power was farther than it had ever been. He felt on top of the world, and yet he felt useless, powerless. Perhaps strength only mattered when you had someone to use it on. When you had people to command it with. Heizen realized that perhaps it was time he took over for the Fallen Demon Lord's. His clan was long gone, but perhaps he could build a new one from the ashes. Sinthe had once said “Before Creation Comes Destruction”.
His clan had been utterly devastated by the New Demon King and his loyal followers. Perhaps he could create something new, something better here in Makai. His followers would follow him out of loyalty not by force. As long as he could establish himself as the strongest - he'd have no problems with resistance. He'd have the blessing of The King And Queen for his assistance against the rebelling Demon Lord's. He reached a power level few in the Demon Realm could challenge, and even those who could would not dare. Never was a time more ripe than this moment. One thing about Makai is not everyone belonged. There were outcasts in the realm who hadn’t a home, a clan to call their own. They were known as the “Undesirables”. They were either considered too weak, or they were shunned for their hybrid nature usually (many of the undesirables were hybrids).
Though Suusao had made Heizen wary of dealing with Hybrids, he could be swayed to reconsider his position. Perhaps he would just avoid any hybrids involving Saiyan genes. They were distasteful enough without the Demonic ambition driving them. He could feel a few comparable powers to his own, powers that seemed isolated. Perhaps he would visit them. It wasn’t like they held any threat to him now.
Ever since Morto’s death Heizen had been training relentlessly. His powers continued to eclipse and skyrocket. He was climbing the ranks of greatness - it wouldn’t be long until he ascended to the status of the Demon Lords. The Evolution was coming.
Heizen had also acquired an ancient Demon technique that would prove useful. The Omega Beams were powerful trajectory-altering eye beams that if used right could cripple or completely evaporate an opponent. He would use them well in the heart of battle. He pictured himself using the new technique against Suusao and his speed-abusing technique. The Half Saiyan’s terror as he realized quickly that he couldn’t evade. The look on his face when the beams pierced right through his heart, the life fading from his eyes. Heizen relished the thought. He also wondered what Suusao would say now if he could see him in his glory. His power level shooting up to over a million in this state, when he drudged up all of his power. He could just picture all the intensive ways he could crush the Saiyan-hybrid like an ant.
Perhaps his grudge was a bit much, but he wasn’t one for forgiveness or for resolution. The Demon had experienced far too much hatred for that now. He would find retribution and get even with the lad someday. Whether that was with his blood, or one of his loved ones…
But that thought in of itself was for another day. He had work to do. Flying off into the horizon - Heizen searched for the powers he felt. They weren’t half bad. He estimated their power levels to be around twenty-five thousand each. And they likely could reach levels above that.
Finally he found himself across the red horizon, floating just above their location. A cavern of a mountain. It was there they hid. The towering structure was sufficient for a hiding place - the cavern good from being spotted by any prying eyes. But Heizen didn’t use such things. His new sharp energy sensing ability made it hard for anyone not suppressing their energy to hide. Miles and miles away was the child of Nakiya he had met. The Demon Lords were scattered across the Dimension - remaining in their spheres for fear of being erased like Mortos, Fenos, and Azazel had been. They did not dare provoke the new Demon King and Queen in their rule.
“Come on out. I can feel your presence in there.” the Demon called to him, his own power swirling, a dark blue aura of thick light surrounding his body. He could feel the powers swell with his call. They were afraid of him. Afraid of his presence, his voice. Or at least one was. The other just simply raised itself in accordance with his calling, jumping straight up to fifty-thousand. Not too shabby for a Demon. He grinned his nasty, wide, sinister grin as he landed inside the cave. As soon as he entered however - a dark red energy wave headed straight for his head came rushing at him. Cocking his head just in time - the energy wave rushed out ahead of him and into open air. He wondered where it would end up, but preferred to focus on his attacker.
Clearly he had someone rattled. His eyebrows raised and his eyes widened however when they gazed upon who had fired the energy wave. He recognized the man, or the Demon rather. Seid - the Demon of Darkness. Minion of Malokai. He supposed he had spared the Demon when they last met each other, but for him to have jumped to this level of power so fast? It was most impressive. “Well. Nice to receive such a accomodating welcome, old friend,” Heizen joked.
The black skinned Demon stared at him with no expression on his face, passive and cold as he stared down the Jackal Demon. Heizen could tell he still enjoyed that armor of his that blended naturally with his skin color-wise. The pointed helmet matched the menacing eyes very well, in his opinion. Sharp claws. He was almost as tall as Heizen himself. And his power was impressive. He would make a fine subordinate. Under the Makyo Star his power could be even greater. And his base could be improved on for sure. Heizen would make him stronger.
“The last time I saw you- you left me and Thanas with several broken bones and killed the rest of our clan,” he recalled, a scowl on his face. Heizen’s grin died and his face became a more serious blank expression. “Not ‘our’ clan. They tried to kill me, and got their just desserts. You know better than anyone revenge is served cold,” he said. With his power swirling and radiating in its immensity he began slowly marching forward. “Be happy broken bones were all you got.” he said. As he continued on forward- his eyes caught the strange beauty behind him. Stopping his approach - the Demon stood confused. She didn’t look like a Demon, but rather more like a Heran. Noticing his gaze - the Demon groaned. “I suppose you’re curious about the girl.” The Jackal Demon gave a small, sinister smile. “She did peak my curiosity.”
She had higher-class Demon like features… but her hair seemed strange. Shades of pink and light purple mixed together. She had to be a hybrid. The hybrid he had sensed. “She’s a hybrid, yes?” he asked, though it was more of a rhetorical question. He knew the answer. He could feel it. “Indeed. I’m a hybrid with Heran blood,” she said, though she seemed less than thrilled with him. “I’ve heard how you treat associates. Why should we follow you?”
Heizen chuckled. “I mean besides the fact that I can vaporize you both without a thought?” he replied with a grin. He continued his approach as his pitch flowed out fluidly. “You’re both outcasts with nowhere to go. I can offer you a place where you can rise up and become great. Loyalty and dedication and I will make us all the next generation of this place. The Demon Lords will fear US,” he propositioned. He was already close to being strong enough to make even the best of them fall. The Royal Family was a bit above his abilities most likely, but the rest would be easy. He was already close. He just had a few more tiers to cross and he would make even their prime warriors tremble in fear.
“We’ll show them blood doesn’t matter. Rank doesn’t matter. Only ambition, talent, and the strength to make others tremble, crumble beneath our feet. You just have to be willing to take some punishment, and prove yourselves on the battlefield. The Demon Realm has a lot of enemies. The Kais- they fear us. The Saiyans- loathe us. And the Earthlings- shun us. At the end of the day they all have something they’re afraid of.
We’ll crush them all and build an empire from a foundation atop their ashes.”
It wasn’t a bad pitch. At least so he thought. The two looked at each other. They seemed moved. They countered his offer apparently. “We wanna challenge your might. We wanna see if you’re really as strong as you presume to be.” It was an amusing proposition. He was sure if he showed his full power they’d back down instantly.
But he was a Demon. Where was the fun in that? It would be more satisfying to make them think they stand a chance, only to break that hope by the end so they know their place. He was the leader. They would follow what HE said. He wanted to work with them. But this was the only way. He had tried trust once. And it hadn’t panned out. From now on he worked with others on necessity, and he made sure they knew who was in charge. The Royal Family were the only ones he took orders from, and that was on necessity. And if things panned right that would only be a temporary measure. He didn’t want their position of authority, but sought to rise above their dominance over him ever still.
“Come at me then. Show me your powers: Heran hybrid, Darkness Demon.”
He always did love his alliteration. Seid charged a charcoal brown aura - its light shimmering dimly as he did so. His power level at fifty-thousand. The other one also powered up, her teal blue aura turning a red as she accessed her full Demonic potential. It was very reminiscent of Suusao’s transformation back on Earth - reflective on her true mixed blood. It was intriguing to him how their genetics mixed in with other races. Her power level shot straight up to seventy-five thousand. Not bad. She certainly caught his attention. The two of them would actually be tricky for him if he didn’t tap into some of his demonic reserves. He’d wait before he went that route though. This would also serve as better training for him. He had been training to get used to fighting multiple opponents lately. It was his weakest area.
Perhaps if he had been better at fighting multiple opponents- Suusao would already be dead. That old Demon Lord and that meddlesome Saiyan hermit had made his job difficult. Today hopefully he’d clear that weakness. Heizen was sure of that much.
They both rushed him. One after the other. Seid started off the assault attempting to reach him with a ki blast coming toward him. Heizen simply chuckled and slapped it out of his hand - when Delphi rushed him and attempted to land a right hook towards his head (only to swing at open air). Heizen had already moved out of the way and gotten behind her, kicking backward into her neck as he flew towards Seid. Seid attempted to land a straight punch into Heizens’ torso -but the Demon countered it with a punch of his own. The two rang out a fierce shockwave - the brunt of which Seid suffered damage from. Delphi fired an energy blast barrage towards Heizen, the tiny orbs trying hard to pierce into him. But he just blocked the tiny, insignificant specks with little to no problem. “Here: Let me try!” he said as he turned around and fired a barrage of dark blue ki blasts toward Delphi. She managed to dodge them just fine however - evading them with ease. She was a nimble thing. He had to give her that.
Seid would be easier to break down. He was slower, weaker. Heizen smiled as he appeared behind him- kneeing him in the back and spinning his body before kicking him forward. The Armored Demon was no match for him in this state. And he knew it. If he took out Seid first - Delphi would be much easier on her own. “Together, Delphi!” Seid cried. He knew Heizen’s plan to divide and conquer. “Don’t order me around!” she cried back in call. Still it seemed she obeyed - and the two surrounded him trying to fly in and launched an all-out offensive on both sides. Using all of his limbs in tandem from his forearms, his shins, and any other solid joints available - with each movement he blocked each punch and kick that they tried to launch his way. He was having some difficulty with it however - and didn’t like the stress. Charging his ki - he let out a small burst of energy that launched the two back - destroying the cavern entirely and allowing for more room for them to fight.
“Not bad you two. I’m actually breaking a sweat here. If I’m not careful here I could be in some real trouble,” he acknowledged. He didn’t mention the huge reserves of power he had still yet to reach from deep inside of him. He wanted them to think they were close. To really break them at the end. It was all part of the plan after all. Heizen let out another wide smirk as he looked at them with patient eyes. Seid looked at him with defiance, and spoke up, “Don’t get too comfortable. We have a secret, Heizen.” Seid caught his attention - the black Jackal lifting an eye from curiosity. What kind of secret could bother to matter in this fight? “I’ve been holding back… studying your moves. Now that I know you’re only this strong - I know we can win.” Heizen maintained his smirk. Well. It looks like Seid was moving ahead of schedule. Suddenly Seid began bulking up - his size enlarging massively as he became a towering behemoth of a Knight. His burst open revealing nothing but the black demon monstrosity underneath. His mouth snarling. God Heizen was so glad he had evolved past such a disgusting transformation. From what Heizen could tell - Seid had accomplished his goal. He surpassed Heizen’s current power level…. At least when he wasn’t getting serious. “That’s adorable, Seid,” Heizen chuckled. Delphi looked at him with confusion as Heizen should be afraid, shouldn’t he? Heizen chuckled as he powered up - bulking up his body albeit not to the same extent. “This is a trick I learned on Earth. Since you want this to be about size- we’ll fight with our size and see who hits harder!”
Heizen and Seid ran at each other with their full power - their fists extending and colliding against each other - a giant shockwave ensuing from the clashing forces. Seid let out a cry of sharp pain. It was obvious to them all who was stronger. The Makyo Star Transformation was an ideal transformation for weaker demons. It gave them great power without them having to work for it- albeit making them ugly mutated monstrosities that could barely control themselves. Heizen wasn’t a fan of the transformation. He never had been.
The collision sent Seid flying back in the air - with Heizen hovering toward him slowly and mercilessly. He was enjoying this far too much. However his ki senses soon sensed the Heran’s rising ki! Turning around he was met with a purple energy beam of immense power. Heizen grunted he caught the beam with his hands - resisting desperately to destroy it entirely. The downside to this form was that it overcompensated for strength and left him vulnerable defense wise. But he wouldn’t let it end like this. He still wasn’t ready to start showing his real power. Sending out another shockwave with his ki - he dispersed the energy beam. He was not bad at this though - he knew how to compensate for his failures in this form. Right after that Seid followed right after. The two were devious and well-coordinated in fighting him. Turning around - Seid fired his own energy beam toward him. It was equally dangerous - if not more so! Heizen gritted his teeth as he once again found himself struggling to hold back the beam.
“Alright! That’s enough, I’ve had enough!” he roared with a mighty bellow - his shout carrying on for miles. They knew what they were in for - they had invoked his Wrath. And he was a Wrathful one.
Using the power of the Demon Realm to fuel him… Heizen once again sent out an enormous shockwave with his ki. This time the shockwave had more than enough force to knock away the blast - and both of them with it.
He had overcompensated - having gotten frustrated with the methods of his attackers. Breathing heavily the Demon turned to face their half-dead bodies. “Next time… I won’t go so easy. You both have a long way to go. Don’t you dare forget it.” Grabbing the both of them as he released the technique that buffed his muscles and might - he flew off with his dark blue aura leaving a trail of light following him. Seid was a little stronger than the Heran when the Makyo Star was at his beck and call - but overall the Heran Hybrid had more potential in her. She greatly interested him. He may have found a viable champion. Every rising Demon Lord needed his champions after all. He wouldn’t be fighting his own battles forever.
