Tomina was standing in front of the doors of her mansion, waiting for Queen Kinoko to arrive. She had requested to the Queen to show up there, so that they could continue her training of the Demon Arts. Tomina’s mansion had a very advanced gravity machine, so it was good for both of them to take advantage of it as much as they could. She was waiting outside, ready to open the doors for her once she came by. As she waited, Tomina’s thoughts turned to what Kinoko had said before their last training session ended. <Nakiya was involved with my creation? Is it really true? Would Queen Lettis really accept help from another species? There’s just no way…>
Tomina had a mountain of questions for Kinoko about exactly what role Nakiya had played within the Empire. Hopefully she would get the answers she needed to know while they were training together. It was as good a place as any to talk one on one with the Queen.

Cress walked in on Kinoko once more taking advantage of the Palace's training room, though this time she didn't seem to be training as hard as she had been, truthfully she was just sitting in the middle of the room with her eyes closed. Cress wasn't sure if he should have disturbed her just then... maybe he could just tell Tomina that the Queen was busy and she'd have to consider her request another time? But the Queen seemed to sense him as she let out a sigh, her eyes slowly opening as she looked up at her guardsman.
"What is it, Cress?" She asked calmly, all emotion void from her voice just then as she looked at him blankly. She was annoyed that he had interrupted her, but she was working on keeping her emotions well in check. If her transformations relied on her emotions, then she needed to better control them or else risk killing someone from the Kingdom, as she had almost done in her battle against Carva.
"I'm sorry to disturb you my Queen, but we received a request from Ms Tomina. She is requesting that you meet her at her mansion at your earliest convenience your highness." He stated as he stood straighter under his Queen's gaze, seeming to suck in his breath as he waited on her. Kinoko however simply nodded as she rose to her feet, levitating herself until she could place her legs out under her and stand straight.
"That's right, thank you Cress I'll leave immediately. Would you inform Nasu for me? Don't disturb him if he's busy but do find time to let him know." She told him as she walked by him, tapping his shoulder before leaving the training room and blasting off into the sky the moment she was outside. While she wouldn't normally just wander to wherever she was summoned, it had become a special case in Tomina's case... She felt some sort of strange connection growing with the girl... It was probably all in her head but there was still something there in her mind.
Whenever she arrived at the mansion, the Saiyan Queen landed outside the front gate, crossing her arms as she sent out a silent message towards Tomina.
<I'm here, I hope you're ready for some far more intense techniques.>

Tomina didn’t have to wait long for Kinoko to show up. She was honestly surprised that she had show up at all, let alone this fast. Despite the fact that it was superior to the one that Nasu had, she expected that Kinoko was going to call her into her own chamber. Typically the royalty were the ones that did the summoning. Granted it was a request, but she this was not expected. Tomina bowed her head briefly, and talked to her telepathically.
<You know I’m ready Queen Kinoko. If you’ll follow me I can show you to the gravity chamber. We can set the settings to make ourselves train in any environment we’d like. I’ll let you decide where we should train.>
Tomina lead Kinoko into the mansion, walking towards the gravity chamber. Right where they got to the door to the gravity chamber, she asked Kinoko a question.
<Permission to ask a few questions my Queen. There’s a few things about Nakiya and Project Legacy that I need to know about.>
The inside of the gravity chamber was huge. It had more than one console and control station along with walls. This was certainly going to be a very effective place for them to train. Hopefully Tomina would learn a lot of things today.

The Saiyan Queen nodded towards the girl when she indicated her readiness to continue learning the Demon School techniques, but Kinoko wasn't so sure she was... Tomina was strong, but this next part... well even Kinoko didn't really want to go through with it. It would help Tomina learn the rest of the school but there would be a cost...
Before she could get into any of that however, Tomina seemed to have a few questions for her... first, where they should train in regards to the artificial reality of the gravity chamber, then about project Legacy. Kinoko didn't know everything about it but she would answer what she could of course.
<Of course, though I'm not sure what more I can tell you about it. She hasn't exactly passed on all her knowledge to any 1 person.> Kinoko stated as she would indicate to Tomina that she should lead the way inside and towards the gravity chamber. Once there, Kinoko would walk up to the familiar controls of the gravity chamber and pull out a wire that was used in programming the Artificial Reality based on the memories of the one programming it. If Tomina was going to learn to fight like a Demon, she would need to see what it was like to be one.
People had their assumptions of the Demon Realm of course, fire and coal everywhere you looked, the literal image of hell. However, it was far from that... sure it was darker and shone red due to the Makyo Star but Demon's were far more civilized than most people knew.
"Ask me your questions about Project Legacy... then I'll have a very important question of my own." She said cautiously, finally turning to face Tomina onne more, not yet activating the artificial reality.

So Kinoko wanted to get the questions out of the way before they started training. Personally Tomina preferred to multitask whenever she could. Training and conversing at the same time was a fairly efficient combination. Although Tomina saw the queen’s reasoning in this case. This was going to be extreme training, so she wanted to get all of this out of the way before they got to it. Unfortunately it looked as though Kinoko wouldn’t be able to give her all the answers to what the Demon Queen had been up to. She had to at least know some important basics though.
“It’s clear that the Empire had some kind of relationship with Nakiya. Was it business partnership only, or something akin to an alliance? I want to know what else she did in conjecture with the Empire. Actually, it would be easier to just tell me everything that you do know.”
Then Kinoko revealed that she had her own question, which Tomina didn’t expect. She wonder what Kinoko was going to pry into. Hopefully she wouldn’t try to dig too deep into her past. If she got too close to things she didn’t feel comfortable about, then she did have ways to deal with it.

"Well, I don't know all of the specifics but let me see if I can bring up what you're looking for... Whenever I was being created, Nakiya would have these... dreams put into my head.. they were ways to train me and prepare me for when I was finally born. She never came to me as the Demon Queen though, she was always in the form of a saiyan with wild pointed red hair, a lot like Queen Lettis. In these dreams she told me about her plan for the saiyans... originally she was just going to manipulate them into being her army in this Dimension but she found that was way too difficult.
She infiltrated the Saiyan Empire whenever Queen Lettis was still young, coming to her as a saiyaness, a friend so that she could learn about the saiyans. She eventually showed her that she was actually a Demon and that she could help Lettis become Queen and lead the most powerful army in the galaxy... I'm not sure about the play by play, about their developing relationship and what not, but as I understood it Nakiya would pose as Lettis' sister, disguising herself as a saiyan to remove any suspicion of Demon involvement and moving about the empire freely.
I don't know what happened for Nakiya to change her mind about the saiyans but eventually she just wanted them eradicated, or used in her experiments. During the Alliance Empire war she gathered the final pieces of DNA she needed to make me. I had my DNA tested to try and piece together who she used but... I don't know how but she'd managed to mix them so perfectly it just comes up as me having no ancestry at all. It doesn't even show that she used some of her own blood at all... anyways... Lettis and Nakiya helped one another. Nakiya promised Lettis power, and Lettis promised her protection and an army if she needed it. Whenever the Empire and Alliance fought though it's like she lost hope for the saiyans... or was just cutting her losses.
Project Legacy became more about replacing the Saiyan race than moving it forward." She stated as she reached behind her and withdrew a gourd that had been attached to her belt, hidden underneath the folds of her dress. She fidgeted with the bottle in her hand as she tried to think of what else she could tell Tomina about the relationship between the Saiyan and Demon Queen.
"Nakiya uses a little bit of herself in all of her experiments... while you weren't an 'experiment' in the same way that I was, I'm sure she somehow included herself in your creation. She's actually pretty paranoid when it comes to loyalty, so by including a bit of herself in all of her experiments she can create an emotional and mental bond that'll make it hard for us to break if we ever thought of betraying her. That's all I can really think of right now unless you have any more specific questions... and it kind of ties in to my own Question..." She extended the gourd towards Tomina, a serious look on the Saiyan Queen's face. She looked totally on edge and like she barely wanted to touch the object in her hands.
"How far are you willing to go to learn the Royal Demon Arts? How far are you willing to go to learn everything there is about Demon's and their Queen?"
WC: 581 Offering Demon Water to Tomina (I totally had this since I first landed on Natto! hah)

”R….red hair?” Tomina asked it so softly that it was almost inaudible. Her face paled until it become ghost white. Suddenly things started to fit into place.
“I know her then. She was Lettis’s sister, as you said. But she was really… It was her?! Every time I interacted with her, it wasn’t a Saiyan I was talking to. It was Nakiya, the demon queen. How could Lettis let willingly work with her?”
Tomina could no longer deny Kinoko’s story. The red haired Saiyan had even called herself Nakiya. At the time Tomina thought it was just a strange name, but now… things started to make too much sense. She took a few steps back, her mind reeling from what she just learned.
“Part of herself to control her experiments… does that mean that she infused her own blood within me? When I was in the incubation chamber, I was given the blood of other species to gain certain properties from them. If she also had access, then she would have taken the opportunity to add her own sample.”
Tomina looked down at the ground feeling disgusted by that revelation. She likely had the blood of the Demon Queen running through her veins. This disgust and self-loathing was quickly followed by anger. She didn’t look up when she spoke, but anyone could tell that she was livid just by how cold her voice was.
“So she used our race as pawns for years? She should have known better: we refused to bow to the Kold Demons, so why would we let ourselves be used by someone else? Now she seeks to wipe our kind from existence. One day a reckoning will come, and it will come swift and brutally. She needs to answer for everything she did.”
Kinoko then held out some kind of guard to Tomina. Tomina noted that the Queen didn’t like the idea of just holding it. That could only mean one thing. Tomina took the bottle from her, turning it in her hand.
“Well I would say I was done asking questions, but this brings up a few more. Is this the cursed water I’ve heard about? Do I need to drink it in order to finish learning the Demon Arts? Lastly, what will happen when I drink this? I can’t answer your question until I know what this would do to me.”
Tomina stared down at the gourd in her hand, wondering just what it was capable of. Kinoko had told her a bit about its properties when she mentioned that she drank from it. Although there was likely more that Tomina didn’t know about concerning this stuff. Would the benefits outweigh the negative aspects? She waited for Kinoko to explain things to her before she made a decision.
Post by Queen Kinoko on Aug 9, 2017 13:53:19 GMT -5
"there's no guarantee that she did, if she didn't think something could work to her benefit then she wouldn't have sacrificed her own blood for something that would ultimately be useless to her... at least in her eyes. The saiyans of the Empire... they may never have bowed down to any other race but Nakiya had Queen Lettis exactly where she wanted her. She had her pride... It was thanks to her that Lettis found the strength to become what she was as Queen, and she wanted more and more power from Nakiya. They didn't bow, no, but they really did have a corrupt Queen in one form or another." Kinoko's voice sounded rather sad as she watched Tomina's anger flare to life with her explanation. She knew this wasn't going to be an easy pill to swallow... hell, anything related to Nakiya was bitter... she had stirred so many pots for so long that it was almost impossible to know everything about who she had been involved with before.
She stayed silent as she listened to Tomina accept her story as truth and gave her a moment to process everything she had told her. However, Tomina did grab the cursed water and instead of feeling relieved Kinoko started feeling sick to her stomach to of have even thought of passing it off to another... If this had happened when she first arrived on Natto she never would have hesitated to give it to Tomina or any other saiyan... but now it was just a constant reminder of how broken the saiyaness truly was. When Tomina asked her if this was the very cursed water she had spoken about before she nodded.
"I was originally sent with it with the intent to give it to Nasu when I finally gained his trust. Of course, that would never come to pass so it just sat in my chambers for as long as I've been here. I had honestly forgotten about it until all of this was brought up. The cursed water... It affects everyone differently, for me it broke my mind, splitting it into light and dark. The light represents the me that was first born, while the dark, this version of me, embodies my the desires I was never able to express without it. For Caesar it fed his own dark side when he first took it. It basically feeds on your deepest darkest temptations and brings them to the surface.
For example, if someone who had only thought of stealing something from a merchant drank the cursed water then they might begin to steal time and time again until they became a true thief. When the Earth's Kami partook in this water she lost her 'purity' if you would. Caring for no one but herself when otherwise she would always put others before her. That kind of thing.
It does give the person who drinks it an inherently evil aura and it does warp your DNA to a certain degree. It's like suddenly becoming a half demon. You can transform under the Makyo Star and you gain the ability that only demon's have, like the ability to open a single portal to the Demon Realm, summon demonic energy and even use the full power of the Royal Demon Arts.
The real catch... is that the Demon Queen can exert some level of 'control' over those who have drunk it, if she knows that you have. She can more easily get into your head and use your own voice to direct your emotions... it's more like, a powerful suggestion, nothing quite as strong as mind control." Kinoko's eyes were fixated on that bottle as she spoke instead of Tomina, the hair on the back of her neck was raised as if she expected the liquid to jump to life at any moment. Her eyes lingered on it for far too long before looking up towards Tomina seriously. Kinoko's body began to change before Tomina's eyes, her hair changed from black to blond and her eyes changing to a deep red. She wasn't transforming into her evil power surge, but instead was taking on the form she would don under the Makyo star. Two large horns began to emerg from either side of her head, curling backwards towards the back of her head, her hands extending into claws and dark wings growing from her back and spreading out widely behind her.
It was a form familiar to those that had been at the invasion on planet Brench as she had used it's pwoer to gain the advantage on the viceroy. Here however, it was simply to emphasize the extend of the Demonic transformation that could take place.
"I won't force the water on you, Tomina. It's there if you ever desire it but I won't willingly condemn someone to the life of a Demon. However, before we continue, I need your answer." She stated, her tail growing longer and her fur turning to scales. it reached out far behind her and pushed the activation button to the gravity machine's artificial gravity and location simulator. The skies immediately darkened, gaining a red hue from the Makyo Star now visible in the sky. Not far off you could see the Royal Palace towering high above a large city of ancient, archaic like buildings. To the sound of the capital city you could see larger mansions and small castles covering the land, the homes of nobles that had chosen to stay within sight of the palace.

“So I may or may not have her blood in me. Tch, that’s fucked up. I could be technically related to one of the Kingdom’s greatest enemies, or not. And Lettis…. Lettis was just a tool of Nakiya? Becoming the first Super Saiyan in centuries, ending the 200 year war with the Kold Demons, those accomplishments weren’t her own? Was there nothing she would do for the sake of power?”
Tomina had accepted everything else that Kinoko had said, as shocking as it was. When Kinoko had gone into how Lettis did exactly what Nakiya wanted her to do, Tomina looked doubtful, like she wasn’t able to believe what she just heard. No, she couldn’t believe it. The desperation that had suddenly entered her voice was proof of that.
Fortunately she did have a bit of time to recover, since Kinoko’s explanation of how the cursed water worked was quite lengthy. Turns out that drink she was holding was more complicated than she imagined it would be. At the end of it all, Kinoko transformed into a new form. It was a terrible sight to behold, although Tomina was used to seeing terrible things. Still, she would gain features like that if she drank from the cursed water. As the landscape changed to what Tomina assumed to be Makai, Tomina’s gaze shifted from Kinoko to the cursed water in her hand.
“How far am I willing to go? After the war ended I made a vow. To accomplish my objectives no matter the cost. As long as they didn’t go against my beliefs or sacrificed my free will. This cursed water has incredible power to be sure. I do want to go to Makai and make Nakiya pay one day. That being said…”
Tomina looked directly into the eyes of the transformed Kinoko. She didn’t seem bothered at all by her new form in the slightest. She was giving her Queen a hard look.
“Drinking this water means submitting myself to Nakiya’s will. She must consider the control it gives her powerful enough to give Nasu access to Makai by drinking it. Caesar drank from it and now he works for her. It would change me into something I’m not. I am a Saiyan, for now and evermore. I don’t know what it would do to me physically, but I already know where my mind will go if I do drink it. I thank you for the offer, but I refuse to drink it. I’ll find my own way into Makai eventually. There's no point in rushing right now anyway. I expect I'll have to get through Caesar in order to have a shot of Nakiya, and I'm nowhere near that powerful yet.”
Tomina tossed the gourd back over to Kinoko. Unknownst to the Saiyaness, there was another reason why she didn’t want to drink from the water. Flashes of flame and maniacal laughter filled Tomina’s ears. She ignored it though: they were just echos of the past, nothing more. Although they would not have remained echos if she had drank that water. She would never return to being the way she once was. The hybrid would rather die than have that happen.

"She was pretty power hungry by the sounds of it. I mean, not to be condescending but, she did help create project Legacy to keep her power alive right? To make sure she'd always be on top?" Kinoko asked rather rhetorically. To her, this project was something worthy of a huge ego maniac. She didn't think that mating should be done for the sole purpose of creating powerful offspring but because the two involved had a genuine love for one another. Of course that was easy for her to say when her mate was the most powerful being in the galaxy...
"She might not have earned the power through regular means, but if she wasn't meant to be able to hold so much power, she wouldn't have done everything she did. If she didn't have it inside of her to become the first Super Saiyan, then no matter how much power Nakiya offered her she never would have transformed. She had a different way of acquiring her power, it doesn't make it wrong. She was smart and knew that to truly protect the saiyans she'd have to make a deal with the devil." She didn't quite understand why it was Tomina was so beat up or stuck on Queen Lettis, but to see the girl lament so abuot the person she idolized made it so that Kinoko wanted to comfort her. She could feel her lighter half tugging for control, but as soon as the corrupt water was tossed back to her her lighter half receded to the back of her mind as if hiding from the gourd.
"Like I said I won't force you into it, but it will be much much harder for you to learn this, especially is Nakiya hasn't used her DNA when you were born. Still, this is the perfect place for the techniques I need to teach you since they aren't offensive in the slightest. In fact, we'll start with the one that will help us determine whether or not there is a demon living inside you~" She said rather ominously as she would beat her powerful wings once, using them to push her body up by a very small amount. While it looked like she had tried to fly, she was actually just keeping herself steady. The gravity might only be at 40x that of Earth's gravity, but coupled with her special weights it was nearly intolerable for the saiyaness even in a transformed state. She had grabbed the gourd and clipped it back onto the golden belt that held up her crumpled red dress, tucking it away underneath it's folds. She could always use it later if they needed too... it was after-all, one extra allied soldier they could send into Makai...
"I'm going to take a wild guess and say you focus best when you're fighting, right? Then come at me in your base form and I want you to give me everything you've got. I want you to be aware of who you're fighting, and where you are." She instructed, another powerful beat of her wings and Kinoko managed to levitate her body off of the ground.

“She was hungry for power and wanted to eliminate her enemies at all cost. Natto in particular was always a thorn in her side. She did everything she could to be the dominant force of the Galaxy. You don’t end up nearly ruling the entire galaxy by being soft and complacent. No, you need ambition and ruthlessness for that.”
When Kinoko explained that Lettis had to have the capability, Tomina appeared to fully calm down. She didn’t look too happy about the change, but she at least seemed to be a bit more accepting again.
“You’re right, I should have know that. I got overwhelmed by everything that I’m learning right now. I won’t ever make a pact like that though. My will is my own. Not to mention whoever I’d make the pact with wouldn’t have the best interests of the Saiyans in mind.”
Now it was time for their training to progress. Tomina gave Kinoko a grin as she took the Vegetean fighting stance.
“Wow, how ever did you guess that? It’s how most Saiyans prefer to learn. Alright then, let's find out exactly what I’m made of. The truth is that now I’m curious about what blood was used on me. I know Kold Demon and Brenchian blood were used for sure, but Nakiya could have possibly added her own addition. If not her blood, then the blood of another demon.”
Blue flames surrounded her hand as Tomina flew forward. Suddenly her image flickered and dissolved into smoke. Suddenly, a blur coming from the side! Tomina aimed a chop at Kinoko’s ribs, her hand surrounded in blue fire. Thus the next part of her training began.

"... just how close were you to Queen Lettis? You seem to know an awful lot about her, besides just being her loyal subject~" Kinoko asked curiously as she raised an eyebrow towards the other girl. Not only did Tomina know quite a bit about Lettis, she knew about project Legacy... there were just too many hints there for Kinoko not to make the connection, but she didn't want to say aloud... what if she was wrong? what if Tomina wasn't on their side after-all and exposing her just triggered her to act against them? If she was truly who she assumed, then her perception of Tomina would change completely.
While she could still be an important ally, she could be an even bigger threat... and judging by the way she was talking about Natto she could feel her emotions of hatred swell almost as if they were her own. Would she ever act against herself and Nasu when she became strong enough? Of course only time would tell and she couldn't remain suspicious of everyone and refuse to train them. She could still be very useful in taking down Makai.
"You aren't wrong to deny a pact with a Demon, but there's one thing you are overlooking. When I spoke of the sacred water, I said she could peer into your mind if she knew that you had taken it. As it is, she cannot see into my mind and knows nothing about what's transpired since she was killed by Nasu. You wouldn't be making a pact with her, but a pact with me. I may hate this part of me, but like it or not I'll always partially be a Demon~" She said with a slight smirk playing her lips. the reason she hadn't gotten rid of the sacred water was because it was still an ace she could use against Nakiya... she doubted the Demon Queen would expect her to use it and give her an 'advantage' so this was a variable Nakiya wouldn't expect. Wether it be Tomina or anyone else, there was an extra soldier that they could take with them to the Demon Realm at any time...
Whenever Tomina belittled her for stating the obvious, Kinoko rolled her eyes at the saiyaness before placing both of her hands behind her abck. There wasn't that much of a gap between the two, but in these forms there was just enough for Kinoko to frustrate Tomina... much like what it took to become a Super Saiyan, your instincts tended to rely on the darker part of you whenever you were mad or in a life threatening situation. When Tomina charged at her, the Saiyan Queen just used her ability to fly to list almost lazily to her left, her left wing beating once to create enough counter pressure to keep her airborne. The blue fire around Tomina's hand hit nothing, barely even making her dress billow in the energy it created.
"Is that it? I think you're relying on your transformations too much. Rely on your instincts, not your power." Kinoko said condescendingly, her tail whipping out from behind her, energy gathered around it. She used it like a whip, snapping the energy from her tail towards Tomina.

“ I was as close to her as everyone else in my position. When you’re a royal guard, you get to interact with the nobility frequently. It comes with the territory of being a royal guard. I’m not sure if this is how you handle things with Cress, but royal guards in the Empire were in the loop of things. We were among those who were informed about information that wasn’t known to the general public. Some info eventually got released to the masses, other pieces weren’t.”
As Tomina explained how things worked to Kinoko, she couldn’t help but feel a slight twinge of apprehension. She was getting rather close to something that she didn’t want to be found out. At least, not at the current moment.
“If Lettis went into battle herself, not every Royal Guard focused on being near her to protect her. She was very confident in her capabilities. So Royal Guards were informed of major battle strategies beforehand, and some were deployed to parts of the battle away from the Queen. Empire royal guards did more then just stick around the Queen and shield them from harm. We had many different roles, depending on the situation we were dealing with.”
Tomina hoped this would be enough to satisfy Kinoko’s curiosity for the time being. She was speaking the truth, so she wasn’t worried about being caught lying. But man, that conversation was getting a little closer to home then Tomina was comfortable with. Fortunately the conversation moved towards something Tomina found to be fairly pleasant in comparison. Dealing with Nakiya’s influence.
“I wouldn’t put it past her to figure it out somehow. She seems to have a talent for gathering information, passing it along to her allies, and then acting on that information. Not even half an hour passed before Nakiya and Caesar’s forces showed up. Even if she never found out though, I don’t want my blood to be tainted more than it already is. I sacrificed a lot for the sake of my race. Some things were sacrificed before I spoke my first word. I’m not corrupting what I have any further. The rewards are tempting, but there too many reasons for me not to drink that water.”
Tomina was shocked when Kinoko simply just flew to the side and avoided her attack. She did it very casually too, not even keeping her hands in play. When the Queen throughout her tail at her, she sensed a sharp spike in Kinoko’s energy. She just barely managed to block it by crossing both her arms in front of her. But it wasn’t enough to block it completely. It slammed against her arms hard, and continued forward and smacked her. Tomina was sent flying backward, gritting her teeth as thoughts went through her head. <How did she dodge it like that? I’d understand if she used something like an after image, but that was a basic dodge! The difference in our power even in base form is significant. She’s more formally trained then everyone else I’ve fought in the kingdom though. Damn it! I do not want to reveal too much here!>
Tomina landed on her feet, her arms still feeling a bit numb from the blow she received. Ironically enough, she was keeping herself from proving Kinoko wrong. No, she didn’t rely on her transformations to do everything for her. But she didn’t want to show too much of her hand to anyone unless she had to, ally or not. She could feel something rising deep inside her. The vibe she had gotten from holding the cursed water, the simulation of Makai, Kinoko’s demonic form and the power it was exhuming: all of it was stirring something within her she didn’t know that was there. There was a darkness rising within her. Tomina focused on her opponent for now though. She couldn’t tap into this new force yet, so she would just focus on fighting for the time being. “I’ve fought for more than a decade before you were alive. I’be picked up more than just brute force in that time period. You’re getting rather cocky over dodging a simple technique. We’ll see if you still feel that way in a few minutes!”
Tomina threw a basic energy ball at Kinoko, hoping to make her go on the offensive. She couldn’t afford to lose control right now. And yet something was building up within her. Something she hadn’t felt for 8 years. <After all this time, It’s happening again? This is bad! I might not be able to stop it this time! If I enter that state…>
The other reason Tomina only threw a small energy orb at Kinoko was because she didn’t want to pull too much into her power right now. If she did, it would only bring what lurked beneath closer to the surface. It was still mixed in with the rest of her energy signature, but it was notable now. A dark energy was rising from within Tomina. It felt fouler and darker than the energy Kinoko was giving off in her fully demonic form. If Tomina was pushed further, who knows what would happen?

"I wouldn't tell Cress anything he doesn't need to know. He's a little shit who sucks up to anyone with a position of power, he is loyal I'll give him that, but he hates hybrids with a passion, and coming from the world of Demon's, I suppose I fall into that category of his. He'll fight for me because I am his Queen and he wouldn't willingly let me die but I doubt he would mourn my loss. As for Lettis... From what memories I was given of Lettis, and from your reaction to my information I would say there was something more to it then just that." Kinoko continued to tiptoe around the subject all while staring at Tomina. She didn't look like she was trying to be malicious, but just piece the information together. While Lettis rules differently than Nakiya or herself, her experience with leaders had led her to understand that they never told you everything... while Tomina's story could be true it still felt like she knew too much, like she was too attached. Perhaps she had some sort of special position within the guard she was clinging too, or perhaps... operation Legacy went deeper than she realized.
"I guess it doesn't matter in the end, does it? What interests me though if you claiming to have tainted blood... elaborate on that~ Tainted how?" Now Kinoko's eyes looked hungry for that information, glimmering in the red light of the Makyo star as Tomina reacted to her dodge with frustration. It was clear there was a gap in power when Kinoko was transformed and Tomina wasn't, but how else could she make the stronger saiyan react to her with anger? Tomina was loyal, so she would use that loyalty to continue ordering her around until became furious and she came to see the demonic part of her, if it existed at all...
"You may have been alive longer than me, Tomina but I have hundreds of years experience programmed into me. I'm young, but I'm far from stupid~ and you're mistaking being cocky for advantage~ We both know that in your base form you could swing at me all day and not hit me, but I order you to stay in that form and not to call on any or your transformations." She stated clearly, raising a hand and catching the blast Tomina threw at her. She then infused it with her own ki, watching as if was absorbed into her. Her body then coated itself in the crimson red demonic ki like a shield, immediately Kinoko could feel the gravity lighten up on her muscles.
Without giving her further warning, Kinoko charged forward with a few powerful beats of her wings, aiming to close the gap between herself and Tomina. She would focus the energy into her elbow and aim to ram it into the saiyaness' face harshly before attempting to kick her away once more. She was using one of Nasu's techniques, the Flash Spirit.

Tomina let out an amused smirk at Kinoko’s description of Cress, despite the current situation. Hearing those words pour from Kinoko’s mouth made it all the more satisfying.
“He is a little shit, but he is loyal and knows his place. I know that he hates hybrids:me and Carva ran into him one day. Both of us are hybrids as well. He didn’t make any direct insults towards me, since I outranked him and was too strong for him to handle. He didn’t hide his disdain of Carva though. Either he doesn't know you’re part demon, or he doesn’t care. He’s rather infatuated with you. If he knew what you were and heard what you said about him, he’d be devastated.”
Her smirk faded from her face when Kinoko mentioned that she had some of Lettis’s memories. In fact, Tomina looked absolutely livid. The back half of her hair turned Into a shade of crimson, her eyes flashing gold.
”THAT BITCH!!!”
Tomina roared out. An aura of blue flames formed and burned brightly. They danced wildly around her, extending more than ten feet around her. Tomina grit her teeth, making an effort to suppress the fire. They were slowly receding, but were still burning brightly. Tomina tried her best to talk coherently, despite the vein that was visibly throbbing on her forehead.
“How dare she do that! That foul demon had no right to use Lettis’s memories like that! That filthy inferior being! I’LL MAKE HER WISH SHE STAYED IN HELL!!!
Tomina roared again, her flames bursting into the air once more. Tomina was hyperventilating, her rage burning so brightly that it nearly blinded her. It took her a few minutes, but she managed to make the flames dissipate and vanish. The vein was still throbbing, and her hair and eyes remain changed, but she seemed to be in control of her faculties now. She looked over at the Queen with a cold look in her eyes. It wasn’t directed at Kinoko though: she was looking through her at someone else.
“I’ll never accept anything from my enemies. Even if I was on my deathbed and the only way to survive were to drink that cursed water, I’d spill it all over the ground rather than drink a single drop of it. If you really do have Lettis’s memories and took a closer look then you’d know the truth. Lettis didn’t care about anyone other than herself and Prince Athren. She nearly killed her own brother without hesitation in the throne room, all because he suggested that they should make peace with Natto. If he was a bit weaker, the blast would have been the end of him. If you still think there’s something there, go dig around in those memories Nakiya gave you. If there’s nothing there though, then that’s all there is to it.”
Tomina looked down at her hand, turning her palm so that it was facing upward. She just stared down at it, never taking her eyes off of it even as she spoke to Kinoko.
“I like my powers and the benefits they give me now. That doesn’t change the fact that he blood of an inferior species tainted me so much that I never grew the tail that identifies us as Saiyans. One could easily mistake me for a human or a pure Elemi if they couldn’t sense ki. I was also infused with the blood of species we utterly despised for more benefits.”
Tomina clenched her hand into a fist, squeezing down tightly. She loosened her fingers after a few seconds, lowering her arm as she looked back at Kinoko.
“It’s almost laughable. I grew up being told to murder the Kold Demons and all those who worked under them, while a part of me was infused with Kold Demon DNA for some perks of their species. I'm a complete Saiyan in mind, but my body is tainted with our enemies and inferior beings. I was completely disgusted with myself when I was younger. I’ve accepted it as a burden that I have to carry. Adding more onto that would be too much to ask though. If I became half demon too, I’d become some abomination that shouldn’t even exist.”
Tomina didn’t even try to hide her disdain towards Kinoko’s next choice of words. She narrowed her eyes at her Queen, her aura flaring up considerably.
“You didn’t have to order me to stay in this form, Queen Kinoko. Transforming to overcome your current form would be the same as admitting defeat. That I couldn’t best you in an even fight. I know your brother knows nothing of Saiyan pride and the values it has, but I thought you know it well. You may have the memories of great warriors: no doubt Nakiya gave you Lettis’s memories for that reason. She fails to understand what makes a Saiyan a Saiyan though. Lets see how valuable those memories really are!”
Tomina had several options available to her to deal with the attack Kinoko threw at her. She could challenge the strength head on with an attack of equal or greater power, use an advanced dodging technique, or utilize another one of the defensive options she had. Yet the more she thought about it, the less she wanted to do that. Those options made the most sense, but some kind of instinct was driving her not to do it. Her resentment, anger, contemptment, all of her negative emotions were building up within her. So Tomina blocked the attack once again, sliding across the ground with the effort of keeping herself grounded. This time she held herself firmly against the attack. Tomina spat out a bit of blood from her mouth, glaring angrily at Kinoko.
<Nakiya….I curse you from the bottom of my heart! I may have swallowed most of my pride for the sake of my mission. Even so, I cannot ignore your grievances! You think that you can use the power of the Saiyans by removing the pride you deem as a weakness, that downloading the memories of others makes them as skilled or even better than those you stole them from. You try and control our race without understanding what makes us strong. I will not lose to you or anything that you’ve created! You may have played a role in fouling my blood, but I am a true Saiyan despite that!>
The dark energy that was building up within Tomina met its breaking point, and then….. there was an explosion of blue fire. A black aura writhed around the fire as it swirled around Tomina. It finally settled, revealing that Tomina had taken another form. It was a terrible sight to behold.
The fire had surrounded her like a suit of armor. It covered her entire body, with only her glowing yellow eyes being visible. Two bat-like wings of flame had formed, and were extending from her back. The most striking thing about her was that there was a new energy signature mixed in with her own. It was…. Nakiya’s energy?! No, there was a slight difference to it. A tinge of something else was there. But the demonic energy was connected to Nakiya in some way, even if it wasn’t hers. Tomina held up both her hands, a red aura glowing around her body. The Demonic energy grew even stronger as Tomina tapped into it. Tomina only spoke two words. They came out so deep and twisted that it almost sounded like someone else speaking them.
”HELLFIRE PYRE!!!”
Tomina fired a large golden energy beam completely covered by her blue fire at Kinoko. One could just make out the faint glow within the writhing flame. If Kinoko tried to avoid it, she was in for a nasty surprise. The beam would follow her every movement, twisting and turning quickly to keep up with her. Various shapes formed within the flames. Skulls with burning yellow eyes and hands reaching out to try and grab the Queen. Tomina had been pushed to her edge by everything she had learned and experienced today. It was quite a fearsome sight to behold.
