<Skipping toru for now until @ocari posts>
“The thoughts expressed by the saiyaness are not reflected in me, nor are they reflected in my people. As you can see none of them are eager to fight you nor your allies. A simple challenge is not something that unexpected truthfully, and as such we do not view you as this ‘Caesar’ or ‘Jarvis’. I admit I have a lot to learn, having been secluded for many years until now, so you very well could have been an enemy. However, I’ve chosen to give you and yours the benefit of the doubt. I humbly apologize for her words and behavior.”
Ryuteki spoke politely, trying to show no trace of hesitation or fear of the girls power. It really was overwhelming, and there was absolutely no way for Ryu to win this or even try to impress her. He was just too inexperienced in comparison, his skills lying in a very different area of expertise.
He didn’t look down towards Cambia or Celerous, not even to Rukia’s allies. He found it would be rude towards his challenger, and the last thing he wanted to do was to irritate her further. She was definitely right in stating he had felt her power, and that was partially the reason he was trying so hard to maintain his polite face.
He’d look over to her wrist when she indicated what she wanted for ‘winning the duel’, listening to her words as she indicated her desire for blood and that set a panic inside the young Namekian. His mind wandered back to his father, the previous Guru before him and how he had been devoured by a grotesque monster himself… that monster though had a long and strange tail that drained his father completely of life… was that what this girl was trying to do? Was she really that monster in disguise!?
He drew his arms closer to himself as his hesitation was made clear with just that one action. While Ryuteki didn’t voice his worry or truly show any outward indication of it, there was a mild look of panic in his eyes as his mind spiralled. This was the first time he broke eye contact with Rukia to look back towards his guardian still on the ground, standing by Toru.
<It’s just like father… isn’t it… if I agree to this she’ll devour me like she did him…>
His words were silently sent towards the elder Namekian who had a sudden look of surprise in his face as he looked up to Ryuteki. That look of surprise turned into a smile and a light shake of his head.
<No, she isn’t the same as the monster from back then brother. That is an old demon to cling too, Ryu. You have been handling this challenge well. No one will force you to accept her terms, you must do that on your own… but you need to face this fear you have of that monster. He has long since been dead, this girls intentions, while odd seem true to me.>
The Guardian responded to Ryu through their telepathy. Ryuteki would look back towards Rukia, not immediately jumping to accept or decline her terms. He still wasn’t sure but hearing Trian’s words in his mind was comforting to him… Trian knew what it felt like, he had been there as well so if anyone knew his fears it would be him.
Maybe if he accepted, then it would be his first step at facing his own fears…
“...Very well. I understand, but please take only what you need and no more Something like this… is a bit of a sore subject for me. I hope that this act will be enough to make you understand that while I am not our planet’s strongest warrior, I am ready to lead my people through anything, even at the cost of spilling my own blood. My leadership… it will be different than what I’m sure any of your cultures are used too, but it’s one that the Namekian people need. ”
He stated in an attempt to sounding much braver than he felt as he slowly raised his lefta rm up as if offering himself to Rukia. He wouldn’t move towards her though, if she wanted him… then she’d had to come and claim her prize.
Meanwhile, Trian nudged Toru lightly as he gave him a mental nudge to keep his eyes on Rukia and Ryuteki. Just in case.
