Things were really changing around here, wasn't it?
Seeing it all made her smile, knowing just how much things had progressed. That attack on earth had seemed to solidify the relationship she and the others held, with Lady Rukia. It was almost hard to believe just how close they had gotten, to someone who had become the queen of their kind.
Most Vampires wouldn't be able to get that kind of opportunity, but she supposed a lot of it was because of Miki. She wanted to say it was luck that allowed her to be a part of all this, though having heard everything that had happened, it seemed more like the universe was just paying out fortune for those who deserved it. Namek had seemed like a wonderful place to be to avoid all of the conflicts that had happened while earth had been attacked by the Saiyans.
She wanted to know so much more, and while it hadn't been through a firsthand experience, reading all of the accounts that Lady Rukia had documented herself, painted enough of a picture. There was some bias here and there, but the interactions they already had together, and the mindset that she saw in these writings, made it a bit easier to get a feel on just what the other Vampire might have believed in, or would have said in a situation.
Though she felt a bit of guilt where she was aware was unnecessary. Back before they had all become Matriarchs, and the short time it had taken for Rukia to become an Antediluvian, they had really been only two different covens willing to work with each other. Miki had been her leader, but now that they were all equal and had their own responsibilities, there was supposed to be seldom help. Independence was supposed to be nurtured here, rather than dependence.
What guilt she felt lied more with knowing she'd have to watch someone she had knew, long before this opportunity of growing closer with the queen, take on hardships that she would have normally shouldered. But this was meant to ensure their survival in the future, and she could only pray things could go well.
They hadn't exactly moved into the mansion, having homes of their own to stay in, but they had become such frequent visitors, it could very well be said that it was a second home to them. She did what she could to read all of the documented accounts she and the others were expected to get a gist of.
They were all so thorough, some of these accounts might as well have been more of a research paper. She took down her own notes as well, coming up with certain situations that she knew could have the respect that she was aiming for, not only as a leader, but someone the queen could be proud of.
They were going to have to learn to work in sync, more than telepathy could allow, knowing that communication wasn’t always going to be an option. She had to know what their best interests were, and at the moment, it seemed like that was doing what they could to make alliances with others.
The most potential one beyond somehow working with the groups who attacked earth in the first place, was the funding going towards a restoration project with the Elemis. Elementals by the sound of things. Of those who were already part of the group here, they were certainly an unheard of group.
But she could understand that’s where part of the interest was. People from space knew about the Saiyans, the Brenchians, and the Kold Demons, but Elemis didn’t carry similar fame. This person being talked about in these documents, she and the other Matriarchs hadn’t been introduced to yet.
Ayumi was aware of her, being a fledgling, but the girl’s viewpoints were so radically different, what she could have said would have been taken with a grain of salt. How much communication this Elemi had with them however, it was hard to really say if there was even a pattern. A lot of plans were put aside.
The goal towards power was one difficult to reach without the right opponents. They had blood to rely on, but it was such a timely and precise decision that wasn’t worth ending in failure, if it couldn’t be successful. One prey for the bite towards power, that managed to get away, could delay so much.
She sat in the living room alone on one of the couches, her journal of notes in hand, while the others in the mansion had moved around her. Becoming a Matriarch hadn’t been much of a burden as she had imagined, or better said, she was able to tolerate the hardships they had all been told of.
The way the world dulled around them with those who weren’t of their kind, she could understand how it could drive others insane, trying to deal with it. All the happiness in conversations taken away from them, as their own kind just became much more important. But with it was so much more focus.
What was there to doubt with power meant for only a few individuals? She was able to fall into this position for a reason, and if it was truly meant to be a problem, she’d do what she could to face the challenges that could come from it. She had already managed to survive this far as a Vampire alone.
The way she saw it, there would be few differences.
How had things devolved so quickly? Cryonia had just barley managed to pack up all the essential equipment in her lab before leaving the North. The land up there was dying. It was due to the actions of the Saiyans who had drained the land of its vitality. Cryonia had hoped that this planet would escape the rest of the war torn galaxy. It appeared that nowhere was safe these days. It was all very discouraging for someone who was looking for ways to restore her home world. <Even assuming I did find a way to restore the home world, it could be ravaged in an instant by vastly more powerful beings. I have to find a solution to this problem as well if the Elemi and Bijou are going to ever thrive on our home world.>
Cryonia supposed she could help train the rest of her race. But it would take years for them to be able to contend with the monstrous powers she had sensed invading Earth. She could not afford to rely on such a long term solution alone. No, she would need some help in order for her people to survive. To that end, she sought out the Vampire that she had met with at Capsule Corporation. Perhaps should would be able to receive some aid from her, for a price.
Cryonia entered the grounds of the Vampire's mansion. She walked over to the front door, reaching out and ringing to doorbell. She stood there with her arms at her sides, her monochrome hair swaying in the gentle breeze. She hated that her only option seemed to be to rely on the help of others right now. She had wanted to solve the problems her races faced on her own. But it was clear that she was out of her element. She was going to have to make some sacrifices if the HWRE was going to accomplish its goals.
Beyond the rooms around the mansion that were meant for a peace of mind, like where they kept the gravity training machine, the building was really only ever quiet when those around had gathered to bed. Though with how the property was out in the wastelands, it was mostly just out of courtesy.
Still, she didn't mind the noise. She wasn't one of the occupants, but it was never an issue for her or the others to stay in one of the guest rooms either. And the chatter that those currently in the mansion had carried with them, only served to remind her of just what exactly she had read in these documents.
At the beginning, the only occupants this place had quickly gathered, was a Majin and a Saiyan. The number had doubled quite a bit since then, and seeing that kind of growth, was like watching history being made. But even better was knowing that she could help contribute to the history that was here.
Elated, couldn't emphasize her true feelings on what an honor it was to be apart of all this, to be here. Her smile might not have reached her eyes, around the presence of those who weren't of her kind, but she still knew it to be true that this was the kind of opportunity she had wanted to seize.
One of the most interesting things about what she read in Lady Rukia's notes, happened to also be how she was viewed by others. At the beginning, when the other Vampire had been a fledgling, she was rather casual about the speed they were gifted with, when they accepted turning into Vampires.
Surprise and the like was so common and natural, but it was the progression that had came from getting stronger, was when things had started to change. Overcoming the first blood frenzy, only led to other transformations, and the more stronger her lady had gotten, the more confidence that had risen.
Enough to go testing if anyone would show up, if she were to act as a beacon of power, and failing to really pull anyone of interest. The power of that time seemed to only impress the few, and it wasn't until the takeover of Capsule Corp, did things really start to take off to be something for the better.
There was much more, but what she saw, cutting things off at that point, was just where decisions had been led towards. To go from someone who casually fought others, and wanted the attention of those who were stronger, to what the woman was like now, primarily involved the seizing of opportunities.
And from the time that they had already spent together, she could reason that her queen would approve of something similar, in other sort of instances. What appealed to her sense of reason? That was the kind of thing she wanted to understand more about the other Vampire, in order for them to be in sync.
And there were certain scenarios to test that out, and the possible responses that could come from it. She just needed someone with time to start out her approach, and there was luckily so many subjects around to test for that. All with different viewpoints, and had been well acquainted with their leader.
She smiled satisfyingly as she closed her journal for the moment, the presence of a new arrival whose signature she didn't recognize, stopping her from immediately getting up from her seat. This was an interesting development here. Good being returned to her by the universe, for sparing her own time.
The room blurred around her as she had gotten to the front door, before anyone else had, hearing its knock as she had arrived. The dials on the keypad were tapped into, as she opened the door, her eyebrows slightly twitching at the appearance of just who was at the door. Was this the Elemi she had read about?
The description had matched for sure, and this was a presence that she was unfamiliar with. Nonetheless, she had swiftly tried to grab their guest's hands into her own. While she was truly happy in the inside at this new development, the light still failed to touch her eyes while in this base form.
She would never be able to fake her emotions enough on the outside without transforming, though that would be quite shocking to do, wouldn't it? Even if the encounter with this Elemi, seemed to have gone interestingly enough for this one to try matching what power her queen had at the time.
"I've read about you in Lady Rukia's notes. Please, come in and tell us why you're here. Lady Rukia's not around at the moment, but I assure you I'm more than capable of filling in for whatever you might need."
The door opened up, and before she had a chance to react, Cryonia felt two hands clasped her own. Cryonia's body tensed up for a few seconds, not expecting the skin on skin contact. Her skin would feel as cold as ice to the vampire.
Cryonia let herself relax a little and looked over the person who had greeted her. She was a silver haired vampire with red eyes. She seemed friendly enough. This was going a bit more smoothly then her first encounter with Rukia and her companions so far. Although that hadn’t turn out all that bad later on.
“I appreciate the hospitality. I must say, you’re well informed. I didn't realize that Rukia had taken such extensive notes of our encounter. I need to speak with her about urgent manners. Will you extend your welcome further and allow me to wait for her? Or is she out on a long term venture?”
Cryonia knew that Rukia had a busy schedule, even before things had gone to hell. If she was going to be gone for a long then she would have to either do all she could to find her.
Even though West City had survived the devastation that the planet suffered, Cryonia wouldn't blame her if she was looking for somewhere else to reside. If all else failed, she would do all she could contact the Vampire. She was simply too much of a potential help for her not to make the effort.
Something normally inviting and give reason to trust. But this wasn't a normal situation, was it? She was a Vampire, and this was an Elemi. Her own body would have felt dead, if she didn't properly drink an ample amount of blood. Which made it all the more surprising to find the sense of coldness that non-Vampires so often said they felt like, when they had lacked blood. It was such a simple chill too, though couldn't have been everlasting as it seemed.
The body just didn't work like that, unless this was some form of magic. Most likely, she could see that cold die out, when the temperature had settled, or reactions were invoked. Vampires might have had natural abilities as well, but it could be exhausted given the time and chance for it to do so.
She held no hesitation in her own part, in going on to close the door behind their guest, as she listened. It was unbelievable timing to be granted such a situation here, though she assumed like everyone else on this planet, the Elemi might have been trying to recover from the attack some days before.
Didn't matter whether or not one had lived in either of the cities that had been invaded, or the comfort found in West and East City. For the planet to be attacked, and so many lives being both hurt or missing, it was a concern to wonder what was there for them in the future. If the Elemi had felt the same way in the slightest, there was only the question of how much was willing to be shared, or if it could bring back certain memories on the day of the invasion.
She and the others here could remember it themselves, being ones of the few who had chosen to leave the planet and West City for awhile, putting some time in to save who they could in the closest city they had normally lived near. All of the terror and hope they could live another day, she saw in their eyes.
Persistence perhaps wasn't the best word for what was being asked of them here. It might have been dire depending on the context, although it was too soon to assume that their guest was here out of desperation. People dealt with fear in their own ways, but could it truly be said that was what she was looking at right now? The face of the Elemi, even with the glimpses that were allowed when it came to eye contact, she was trying to memorize for herself.
It was so much easier to recognize their ki signature, but putting a face to it and what could be expected from their expressions, was different entirely. She wanted a gauge on how to approach someone like this, who could serve to be of assistance to them in the future, more than what could already be seen.
"They're her own thoughts. Some details are more personal than others, but it's an inviting read."
Had they really been more normal, and the earth wasn't so often attacked by invaders or whoever wanted to flaunt their power, Lady Rukia might very well have been the type to argue with a professor, if her marks on a paper weren't acceptable. Maybe even try and file a grievance for it.
The matters of others were to be taken appropriately as such, though to rely on her lady was the kind of dependence that they weren't likely always going to afford. Someone like her, although held no interest in serving one moral side, was likely to meet death if she wasn't careful enough to avoid it.
"She's out talking to others of our kind on where we're expected to head in the future. I have her number if she must be contacted, although you must understand whatever concern you have, can be discussed and taken to action by me and several others. Lady Rukia's not always going to be around with her kind of confidence, and she'll likely tell you the same if we contact her."
Her lady was very good at returning texts as well, although even while answering the Elemi, she couldn't believe in the idea that what matters concerning the alien, couldn't be discussed with her and the other Matriarchs around. The lack of light in her eyes didn't change, although she wanted to believe her own words carried enough what she had wanted to express, as led the girl into the living room, so they wouldn't have to just go standing around all day.
Their new arrival was noticed by the others, who waved and such, but her own demeanor seemed to have been enough to have them be content talking to each other, rather than disrupt what was going on here. Part of her felt like it would take some convincing, but another part saw it was possible they could have their guest stay and discuss whatever was going on, then just go over things again when her lady had finished. She was uncertain, but not enough to try.
"You're free to go over things again later with her, if you're willing to discuss it now. I only wish to do what I can to better the agreement between you two in her place. There's a lot of things about her you could have a better grasp on, like the rest of us have learned. All I ask for is a chance."
She didn't at all hold any similar position her lady had, in the eyes of the law, and wouldn't without the experience.

“Oh, I have no doubt that anything Rukia writes would be a very interesting read. She has a good head on her shoulders and is a rather methodical person. I could tell that just by meeting her once.”
Cryonia though fairly highly of Rukia from what she had gathered about her. She wouldn't have bothered to come back here to enlist her help otherwise. It was unfortunate that she couldn't directly get help from her right away, so she would have to manage as well as she could right now.
“I suppose given the circumstances she would have her hands full. Regardless, the reason I’m here involves the recent turn of events. As Rukia knows, I represent an organization that is dedicated to restoring the Elemi homeworld. The recent state of affairs has thrown in some complications into the mix. I'll treat you as though I am addressing Rukia. You can relay everything to her later. To distrust those close to Rukia would be the same as having no trust in her.”
Well that was putting it mildly. The events that had transpired changed everything. She was going to have to resort to some drastic measures. Cryonia let herself be led inside, looking around at the others there with interest, waving back briefly. She took a the first seat that she could find, focusing on the Vampire that had let her in.
“I’ll get straight to the point. If Rukia is as efficient with her note taking as I think she is, then you would know that I represent an organization tasked with restoring the Elemi homeworld, among other things. The recent rampant invasions on other worlds has made the prospect of restoring our own homeworld bleak. If we restore it again in our current condition, then it could be taken from us in an instant.”
What was the point of restoring their homeworld if it was at high risk of being destroyed? There were always evil doers who did horrible things. Cryonia had spent the last few decades protecting Bijou from species who wished to profit on their gem producing bodies. Yet that was different then entire worlds being invaded. This had happened before, but this time it was happening at an unprecedented rate. And that wasn't the worst of it all.
“There's also the issue of Ragnarok’s disappearance. He’s a fellow council member in the HWRE who came to Earth to find out more about one of his daughters. After those Saiyans invaded we lost contact with him. We suspect that he's either dead or captured.”
Cryonia crossed her legs, putting her hand on an armrest and looking at the vampire solemnly. The situation they were in was dire. She wouldn't try resorting to this if it wasn't.
“In short, the HWRE needs protection until we can get strong enough to handle these problems ourselves. I do not expect for this to be handed out. I am prepared to negotiate with Rukia about discussing an arrangement that is beneficial for both of us. If she makes a request that is in my power to fulfil, then I will commit to it. I am prepared to make sacrifices for the safety of the HWRE.”
Cryonia was putting a lot on the line here. She was setting up a deal with a powerful being that could potentially ask a lot of her. She hated being put in this position, but she realized that they could not weather this storm alone. She wasn’t going to let decades of progress be for naught. Whatever it took, she would see things through.
She could tell with the others exactly how much they had read with these notes, from the conversations that they had. Just about every conflict the other Vampire had considered to be important, would have made itself onto one of these pages. Most of them had likely gone through the bare minimal.
Things that were marked down for them, and was considered to be a need to know basis. All of the hybrids that this mansion had seen, or the earlier encounters that they had started out with, were all here, detailing what kind of mannerisms they've had, along with their apparent beliefs.
The one Namekian that the brunette had been hoping to encounter again, yet had failed to find him, had been one of the more detailed entries. When she had said what lied in the journals, there had also been personal stuff, it wasn't some kind of exaggeration. There were a lot of individuals that her lady had encountered, who considered her to be morally questionable. The reasons why, and arguments against it, were all the things that were in here.
Though there were also parts where she couldn't see anything but the Vampire's own humanity. Thoughts and things she wouldn't have told or shown out loud, which was understandable, considering just what everyone within this mansion was involved in. The use and practice of ki, were activities that without the proper strength or guidance, could cost lives. Everyone here was putting in trust that someone as strong as the brunette, could protect them.
There was a life of comfort here, that being normal wouldn't have offered, and although those here were more well off than others, she had never saw it as a wrong. The positions that life had offered, could either be given through birthright, or it was earned. Knowing that most Vampires like herself had started out as nothing more than high school teens, for someone like her lady to get to where she was, there had been a lot of effort to have gotten there.
A position at Capsule Corp was no easy feat as well, and it took not only understanding, but a believable figure who was willing to actually learn. No one within this journal, or anyone they could meet in the coming future, she believed would have been seen as a waste to have met. That they would offer the kind of insight that would have been worth detailing in these notes. From her own understanding, the more powerful individuals that the brunette had met, the more that beliefs and outlooks had seemed to change. Although it seemed to have also gone hand in hand with the Vampire getting more powerful herself.
Each new transformation brought out the kind of confidence, that if spirit is really to be believed, then she would have assumed this security would have been compared to having the belief of other Vampires, backing her lady up. It certainly felt like she was carrying that kind of weight, doing so herself.
"Well other than a recent trip to Namek, and what we've managed to establish there, I would say it's unfortunate for those who haven't gotten to frequently meet with my lady."
Establishing that kind of relationship with the Vampires at this point, could really only lead to benefits in both ways. Vampires being neutral before the brunette had started to influence things with their help, made it somewhat easier to build some kind of image with those who were out there in space.
Anyone who wasn't allied with them, when they had really become capable enough to end or win a few battles, were likely going to suffer greatly. They had resources to provide due to Capsule Corp, and these invasions that were happening, she could see loss being minimized with the power her lady held.
Although that was the bit of an issue that the other Vampire was trying to prove in the first place. Someone with that power, if they couldn't use it to accomplish their own interests, choosing to side themselves with certain others, what did outsiders think would continue to happen? No using an asset that felt they should have been used, and possessed the power to defend themselves, while also being capable of using it in what others might consider wrong.
"Time can be crucial, so it's for the best. I can only hope something can be made out of this."
The organization this one was apart of, wasn't too difficult to understand. Although like everything else, her lady had certain ideas on how a relationship like this could have been used. It was rather basic and involved emphasizing the restoration part of the title, along with the involvement the Vampires were putting in, beyond the funds that the brunette was already offering. There had been no rush to it, since the last time these two had met either.
And the longer that things took, the more unsurprising it should have been, that the other Vampire would continue to grow in power, while shaping her beliefs to match what experiences she had gone through. There were a lot of other things that could matter more to someone like her lady, although it likely wouldn't have been above her to consider others who weren't Vampires. That would have been a step backwards, to be something that isolationist.
"What was established between the two of you, I can't say has a strong presence, like the influence we had managed to put on Namek. Although I can understand that things like what you're trying to accomplish, takes time, and that it can be proven to be worthwhile."
Which held truth to it. The alliance that they had been able to establish on Namek, had brought along with them two Saiyans to act as ambassadors. And it was because of them, that they had certain immunity with those who were on that planet, knowing they were benefiting from using a Saiyan ally of theirs.
The concern that had came from this one, had confirmed what she had thought might have been the case, and from the sounds of it, protection was being sought out. Although in general, she would have considered one of the issues here, had been the doubt, or at least desired confirmation that the previous agreement was still intact. As far as they had been aware of, the Elemi Restoration Project had been rather slow, and what happened to earth threatening.
There was also the true and believable idea of how no matter the effort put in by this woman and others, there was a chance that things could have easily just been destroyed again. Lives lost or wiped into nonexistence, rather than what was truly to be deserved, for the kind of work that was being done.
"It's an understandable predicament, and one which I can't help but feel part of it might be already resolved, than you've already believed it to be."
Though she continued to listen to the alien talk anyway, which further explained other concerns. One member apart of this project had disappeared, and with their whereabouts unknown, it could be concerning wondering whether or not they should be replaced, or at the very least, whether they could be.
And in the end, an offer was placed with the Elemi practically agreeing that she was willing to work for it all, which was expected from her in the first place. To make a deal with a Vampire, especially one as powerful as her lady, there had to have been something beneficial that was there in the first place. It made her think back to what else had been in the brunette's journal regarding this project, and one ally from the group, being one of those.
"It's a bit morbid what might have happened to your co-worker, though I wouldn't try and let that delay the project's efforts, if it has. I'm assuming you had got someone to fill in for the position, or at least attempted to continue managing without him."
This man might have been no one she had knew, but the thoughts and prayers that he was fine somewhere out there, still managed to come to her mind. Although there was also the idea that he might have been personally targeted, which was always possible, and not really something to be disregarded as a possibility.
"Do you think there's a chance someone might have targeted him? Someone you can narrow down to be an enemy?"
It was the first start to a disappearance like that, since one would have assumed if he truly had been okay, he would have reached out. There wasn't much reason there couldn't have been communication on his end, especially if he had been in such a position. Which only made her think of the possibility that he might have also faked his disappearance to get away from such a job. There was cowardice in doing that, but it also could have been a possibility.
"Forgive me for also suggesting such, but if the position he held was too demanding, he could have also sought to disappear purposely, which would explain the lack of contact, if you wish to believe that he's still alive. In any case however, and perhaps it's a cultural difference, but I believe you're thinking a bit too much about what can be offered, rather than how things could be maintained. That agreement between you and my lady to provide funding for this project, there had always been an option to reach out and to better relations."
Although she wouldn't have said there wasn't a need not to offer anything at all, nor would have declined the idea of doing so. And what the brunette could have asked for required a little bit of explanation, while also paving the way to what she knew would have bettered the agreement between these two.
"I can however agree that finding a suitable Elemi to work here on earth with us, would be something my lady would appreciate. You can consider it to be an adoption of sorts, and it's not a recruitment we'd be new to."
The proof of that had been all of the allies that were around here, of different species, whose talents they had actively used when it had came to fighting. They might not have seen travel in regards to Rukia leading them, but it wasn't necessary to do such a thing, if they were capable and strong enough.
"I'd like to also say it's perhaps best if you work with me in learning her tells, and on the occasion show up for events she'd consider to be crucial."
There was a lot she had in mind for both, although the latter had a lot to do with more personal affairs.
“You’ve established deals with the Namekians? I can't imagine that negotiation with them was too hard, considering their peaceful nature. If it went well, then that means then what they do know of Rukia, they trust.”
Cryonia wasn’t aware of the changes that had happened on Namek as of late. While she normally did get reports from the HWRE, lately they had been trying to stay out of the way of things. As such, there were currently some gaps in her knowledge.
Cryonia nodded at the Vampires words. She too hoped that she could benefit from these negotiations. Obviously that did mean giving up something in return. No one gave out anything for free after all.
“We had only just met, so we weren't able to develop strong relations. The reason I have come here again is exactly because I believe this relation can be expanded upon with end results that will be worthwhile for all of us.”
Cryonia tilted her head, looking rather puzzled at the Vampires words. Part of the problem might already be solved? She wasn’t aware of any significant updates on their project.
“Our planet isn’t even close to being restored. Even now things are more dangerous than ever. We have other council members, so things can move on without him. But we can't leave that position vacant forever. I don't think he was specifically targeted by a particular group. I think he just got caught in the crossfire in the battle that happened here. So it's likely that the Saiyans did something to him.”
Cryonia frowned over at the Vampire for suggesting that Ragnarok would just quit. They all had sworn to do all they could for the sake of their race. They wouldn't just walk away from it out of the blue especially without any notification. “Ragnarok may have been a free spirit in his younger years, but he’s since taken responsibilities of both a broad and personal scope. If he hasn't made contact, it's because he's unable to do so.”
Cryonia crossed her legs over one another, listening to what the vampire had to say about their current arrangement. It was a fairly good one, but she needed more, given the circumstances. She folded her hands in her lap, sitting up straight in her chair.
“Perhaps you’re right. What we do have right now isn’t bad in terms of relations. If you want to consider it an adoption then I have no objections to it. I’m willing to work very closely with Rukia and those associated with her. I can always attend council meetings via hologram, so my absence won’t be problematic. If working with you to learn key things about her is necessary, then I’ll do it. I’ll also intend the important events that Rukia will hold.”
Cryonia was being very accepting of things. She wasn’t trying to barter for better terms and was careful not to step out of line. If there was something she hated involved in all of this she would let them know. She wanted this to go as smoothly as possible though. That was the kind of situation she was now in. She had nothing left to do but to put her faith in someone else right now.

That was the idea she was getting, hearing no mention of the Saiyans, who had made it their home there. She supposed it wasn't too surprising, knowing that the universe was vast, and how the Elemi was scattered across, rather than on one single planet. If there had really been some kind of motive for withholding the truth about the planet, even for a little while, she would have been at an advantage. Saiyans had shown themselves to be surprising, in that they held word of being both good and bad. They had also been the cause of what had happened on earth, and in this situation, their place on Namek untimely.
But to go and fear the idea that it might have been too soon to bring up the Saiyans, was a concern she felt her lady would have said was an imposed belief. If this woman really didn't know of the changes on Namek, then there was also the chance she was unaware of who had invaded this planet recently.
Or if she was aware, then she was likely to hold proper judgment that these were different Saiyans living on Namek. There was a chance as well this one might have been one of those who held a dislike for Saiyans, although she held faith on that thought being a reality, having seen their behavior.
They had been so willing to make amends in accordance to how the brunette had been treated, to the point where they were sent some allies from that alliance. There was good faith and trust that not many would have really taken. She could only hope their alliance would remain as such in the future.
"More so with the Saiyans who have been calling the planet their home there, for a couple months now. Although you're correct that enough trust has formed for them to send two of their own to act as ambassadors."
Satsu and Yasai hadn't really settled within this place for too long, since they had only gotten back to this planet only some time ago. However, she knew given the time for it, the others could help them learn how things had worked around here, and would treat them as they were meant to be.
There was an extent to how personal it would be, knowing the other Vampire had different goals that might not align with these Saiyans, and they couldn't tell all secrets. The exception had seemed to come for people her lady had really taken a liking to, and this Elemi Restoration Project could be used in the future to dissuade the idea that there could be any betrayal for those who were considered to be 'good' in nature. Their views were so often imposing.
"Things could certainly be more routine, but your position with this project, is worth more to her than you might believe."
The first encounter between these two, could be summed up overall as revolving around providing the necessary funds, to ensure they could get the aid that they had needed. But it was beneath that surface that the brunette had painted a bigger picture of. Being one to recruit and learn from allies of various species, it shouldn't have really been a surprise, to still hope of encountering every style that could have been documented, and making predictions or establishing differences on how a full-blood and hybrid approached things. It wasn't a priority, as a counter had been created to combat unknown styles, but she wouldn't have put it past the other Vampire, to still consider this kind of knowledge as a pleasure. Maybe even a reminder of how she had started.
To continually meet someone like this Elemi, was likely to be an emphasis on how much things had changed for the better. She would hope so, at the least, knowing herself how much self-deprecation could come from being a Vampire. Praying, no matter how much of it she did, wouldn't make things go away.
The monotony that they also tended to face, made it also wonderful to have these references in their lives, they could look back at, as a reminder of being humble. She and the others had likely almost experienced death so many times within their lives, which only a few had really stood out enough to recall.
They were like faint whispers and glimpses into a life that wasn't familiar, thinking about it briefly now, but they were still experiences that she knew to be true, though would rather not remember. A lot of things were best off that way, as with time, those events truly were nothing but moments of the past.
"If this relationship between the two of you is to be maintained, I believe worries of invasion could at least be resolved. It's usual for most individuals to place their best all in one location, but I know for sure we have hopes of branching out."
That tilt of the head had explained to her the alien wasn't seeing the connection she was trying to make. It was a bit difficult to gauge what kind of worries this one had when it came to invasions, but the likeliest fear was the death of her people, if they were to be all on one planet.
The idea of getting into war was another one, although her lady had proven it wasn't necessary to get involved into affairs that weren't meant for them. She and the others, they had the capability of transporting and relocating those under their protection, somewhere else. They had the speed and the power to.
It was so natural to lean a bit more forward, the more interested in a conversation one was, and while it could be troublesome bearing the voices of those that weren't her own, she likely had more patience than the others. Each and every word that the alien had spoken easily clung to her mind. Throughout it all, and a bit less immediate than what the brunette could have come up with, she did try and put together something the other Vampire might have asked.
"Part of being in an Alliance is that favors can be owed or done. If it turns out his life was lost, and the opportunity came for it, would you consider taking vengeance?"
One of the misunderstandings that came with not having a clear motive to others, was their failure to understand how business oriented her lady really was. It didn't matter what their morality was. So long as they had money, or were willing to do certain favors, resources could be provided and owed.
The government of this planet was so dependent on currency to live, while a culture like the Saiyans or even the Namekians, had both a history of pillaging, and a simple exchange of farming for food. Before a society could even begin to lean towards earth, it must be stable enough to provide resources first.
But all the wrongs that could be committed, and how many there were of those who were 'good', made this certain group desire wanting an immediate solution for suffering, or to bar trading with those different from them. The latter was asking for so much, and she knew that there was a chance one day, the different views she and the others had on this, might come to light. But at the moment, the Remnant Alliance had their trust due to them being wronged.
The faith put into this co-worker of hers was an understandable one, which was also part of her cause in suggesting there might have been interest, in righting what could have been seen as a wrong. If they truly believed that this man was just incapable of reporting back, there must have been a good relationship, and a good council to hold this kind of trust. Although the other Vampire likely wouldn't have ruled out the idea of betrayal completely.
She wasn't going to push the idea, as the thought of betrayal also unsettled her, knowing the kind of lengths that those with power could go for their plans. But certain things had to be somewhat believed to be plausible, when interacting with someone like the brunette, and possible contingencies.
Before becoming a Matriarch, earlier plans seemed to involve complete genocide, if someone close to her lady had been killed. But now things were starting to progress to a point where things could possibly be forgiven, and ultimatums thrown around, like what had happened when they were on Namek.
"Then I suppose the original papers can be updated, and we can begin a routine of things now."
As low of a chance it would have been, knowing the Elemi had came here in the first place, it was somewhat of a surprise to hear everything was being accepted. The situation must have really been serious in this one's eyes, which wasn't much of a problem if these two could really get along.
Although this one might have underestimated just what exactly she had meant in regards to her lady's more personal affairs. She had gone around the mansion herself to confirm how personal things could get, and while comments had usually referred to the changes the brunette had gone through, it wasn't exactly an experience they wouldn't have barred. This whole endeavor here had began when her lady could have been considered to be the most human, in the eyes of their kind, and a few transformations hadn't really changed much about past visits. They might have been less frequent, but that only meant more for next time.
It was a few taps on her phone to inform the Capsule Corp employees to draft up something by the time the other Vampire had returned, before she had closed her eyes. She had remained in her base since the alien had gotten here, but to continue to do so now, she didn't think she'd be able to handle the kind of monotony that anyone not a Vampire would bring. It was a slight increase of her power, compared to what her lady or the others might have chosen, but it truly did feel like she held more patience than the rest of them. Beyond the power, the most noticeable change had been her pupils becoming slits.
These eyes were more of a choice at this point, having been a Vampire for so long, but it was one she felt might have been necessary, discussing something that was meant to be serious. Compared to the others, she didn't have too much trouble faking emotions either, which did occasionally seem lost to her now.
"I guess the best approach to start this, would involve the kind of Elemi my lady would be interested in."
There was a large mix of those who either lived within this mansion, or were frequent visitors. The two were now on Namek, the Saiyan and Majin, had perhaps been one of the strongest. But in general, it should have been no secret that a lot of those here were both female and about the age of a high schooler.
A majority of that reason, was because the target audience for being a Vampire, revolved around those who were that age. And they were also the most manipulable, since they would have the trust to come back home and be out to a certain period of time. Freedom those younger didn't usually have. Beyond that, everyone else who had came to this mansion, mostly came here on their own through already knowing others mutually, rather than be sought for.
"When this mansion had been at its newest, the only other occupants had been a Saiyan, a Majin, and a Supidoan. Each one agreed to become allies for their own reasons, but the use of the resources here had been the primary reason."
Only the Supidoan was still really around of the three, although he wasn't within the mansion at the moment. But he didn't need to be to get across the idea that what this mansion had started out with, already held alien origins from the start of things. All of which had different areas of expertise.
"With the encounter the two of you last had, you've already met a few who weren't obviously alien in nature, but without that frame of reference, might it not have been easier to assume that might have been her standard type she was looking for?"
People tended to change however, and adapt to things they hadn't been exposed to before. Which she imagined was one of the reasons why since meeting those three, things had been expanded on. Without those three around, and only seeing her own kind along with the earthlings of this mansion, there would have been another assumption there. Joined together and acknowledging everyone who was here as a whole, there were certain differences in behavior.
"Knowing the air some of the others here carry, I don't expect her to really desire the strongest Elemi, or someone else influential, knowing we'll have your presence. So I believe her interest might lie simply in someone of need or well devoted."
How right she was about all of this, she would find out when her lady had actually returned to the mansion. But it would still be awhile longer, knowing there was a certain routine. One which could easily be abandoned if it was necessary. But even she couldn't sense anything unusual around.
Thinking back to areas of expertise, they weren't really missing much. Other beings gave the opportunity to learn from them, but it was their choice to stick around, rather than be something that was forced upon them. Someone who wasn't willing, she expected wouldn't have much of a place here.
The best example that they had found of both, she might have considered that to have been the human red-head, who she had taken a quick glance at, as the girl had passed by to do some sweeping. The girl had looked pretty young when she had came here, looking at old photos that were kept in storage.
There was innocence and joy in those eyes, which hadn't left as time had passed, and the girl had grew to be an inch or two taller than she had been. She and Asuka had came here to become Vampires, the latter coming here to escape her life of religion for something exciting, although still prayed as much as she did. She had also been apparently more confident than the red-head, and that being something that could be changed, made her fit well around here.
"Myself and some of the others had sought Lady Rukia out on our own, so there hasn't really been a need for anything specific. The ones who have grown up on this planet, seemed to take time getting used to things around here, which I don't find fault in. I can recall a lot of situations, that the humans here could have easily died from, without proper training. It seemed like things were more difficult back then, when there was no gauge of power, but there are certain milestones now, and expectations on how long to reach them."
Being a Vampire, it was easier for her and the others to handle the range of power documented, as what would have been ideal. The Majin and Saiyan that were once on this planet, being the priority of power to have kept up with. Although there was no real consequences into not meeting a certain level, as it was pretty apparent right now, that the humans who lived here were likely the same amount of power, as when the Elemi had first met them at Capsule Corp.
No matter what kind of training they did, there was no growth for them. The Namekians supposedly had a way to unlock the full potential of an individual, but this seemed like it might have been the peak of their power. Things might change, but they had yet to really come close to what they should have had.
"I believe she would find it ideal if you would work with us enough to be on the level of a Super Saiyan at its best, since I doubt it'll take too long to reach their minimum. You could possibly help fill in for certain events in the future, that might require her absence."
There were a lot of individuals out there that they could have possibly allied with, using them for as long as they could, before moving onto the next. Those who were considered bigger threats, they could avoid being attacked by then for a certain time, and possibly get them killed, working with others.
Things like that were present in these documents, and the mind behind it showed what was essentially supposed to be quick and unapologetic. Something that they were supposed to be able to get away with, time and time again. Beliefs that made her frown just a bit more than she already was, talking with the alien on what the other Vampire would have likely agreed with. Such a path were so dependent on she and the others getting stronger themselves.
"But a lot of this relationship, I really believe will fall on your presence in her more personal affairs. The culture of this planet is a lot different from other planets, and with the majority of Vampires on this planet having started out as humans, transitioning hasn't exactly been pleasant.
Most of us might be immortalized as young as fourteen, and only a number of those who have turned, continued to exist, through dominating their coven's monthly culling. I imagine other cultures might find death easy to accept, but it took time for all of us, and we've dealt with it in different ways.
Someone as strong as Lady Rukia, who has continued to grow even stronger and plans to live for centuries, the others have met individuals that have simply marked her as having already tossed away her humanity. She might have even considered herself to be too gone. How do you believe someone like that, could just look past these killings, and just go on with life as normal?"
She had started out so neutral on the matter, but it hadn't taken long for that to be discarded, and for her stance on the subject to have really show through. It was a further increase of her power, that had allowed her to display the proper tone that someone human would have naturally showed.
And none of it, she doubted wasn't something the brunette would have disagreed with. But part of it had also been personal to her, knowing that she shared those kind of feelings, no matter how composed she could be, in comparison to the others. Even back in her former life, when she had just been a human, there hadn't been too much of a change within her. More the recognition that so much more effort was needed of her when it came to non-Vampires.
Even those that she had been familiar with, old classmates or family, couldn't hold her interest any longer. It wasn't something that she had normally allowed to bother her, as it was a life that she had relatively left behind. But it wasn't a fact that could be ignored. For a moment, darkness had surrounded her as she had closed her eyes, the image of it, she had kept in her mind when she had opened them again. All of those thoughts in her head regarding her beliefs still ran through her head, and briefly turned to her own recognition of just what it must have took to be powerful.
How many things were going to have to be given up down the line? How much hate were they going to wind up building for themselves? Regret wasn't what she was feeling. It was the idea that there was always going to be needed caution, that made her struggle back to the efforts that it would involve.
"No matter the situation and its outcome, everything that has happened, I believe has occurred for a reason. Someone like my lady could easily give the impression she has no attachment to her actions or people, but I've seen in her writing and my own eyes, it's not true. Have heard from the others about the personal visits she's given them, trying to assure that a good relationship is formed, and that nothing like minor grief will get in the way of a goal. Supposedly, it doesn't matter how long it takes, only that an understanding can be reached between them."
She fell back into just talking and picking apart what the brunette could have agreed with, and at least until she had heard something in particular, it was better that way. To be so clear about her own agreement in something, she didn't doubt wouldn't have led away from where it should have gone.
"Though with what efforts she goes through to talk to the others here, I've also been told she breaks down. Myself and a couple others haven't been around long enough to do so, but I can't imagine she would deny something like that, in a place like this. In a situation regarding life and death, I'm sure she's the type to assert herself on the level of the fool who believes they can challenge us. You'd have to understand weakness isn't to be shown around those we plan to make use of their resources. You might think you'd even fall into this group, but you would be wrong."
Assets were what the Vampire liked to call she and the others, having move on from referring those who had been apart of the group much longer, as just minions or servants. It was meant to be affectionate in a way that an outsider wouldn't have bat an eye towards, if they were what could be seen as 'evil'.
From her understanding, the brunette was willing to save as many as she could have, if left with no other options, and there was certain priorities among those who were here. The other Vampire's cousins being one of them, and herself along with five other Matriarchs being the rest.
What separated them from the others, beyond things like family kin, she could only reason was due to potential beyond what the rest could have really offered. A lot of trust might have been put into everyone here, but the rest were usually dependent. The Elemi might have found herself into a situation where she wanted their protection, but she could understand why that might have just been viewed to be nothing more than a temporary crutch for stability.
"Moving on from human lives, and with how often the planet can be attacked, there wasn't really a chance for myself and other Vampires to really enjoy our education and the school environment. Certain events that those who were normal might have been able to enjoy, were taken away, and any idea of love she might have had, she'd have to force herself to recall these feelings now. Though they're not events that can't be replaced.
Capsule Corp occasionally hosts or collaborates with other businesses gatherings to promote public relations and the like. The others have had their share of accompanying Lady Rukia, and while I look forward to things myself, they're opportunities best left between you two. There's benefit in some publicity regarding your situation, and only how much of it you're willing to have it expand that could limit it."
Leaning back against the couch with this subject, it was easy to picture the type of formal events she had only heard about, and the accompaniment involved with it. None of it seemed like there was anything expectant of a plus one, but it was undoubtedly and essentially a gathering of those within the industry.
"As for her tells, the best advice I can give is going along with what would further the goal. Back on Namek, I was told the one leading the Saiyans there, had a half-demon sister who along with an unaffiliated Saiyan, had accused my lady of being clouded by killing rather than someone who was just a business woman. All because Lady Rukia had gotten a bit sentimental, and challenged the Guru there, finding that he wasn't fit to lead any position.
In this circumstance, the best thing to have done besides moving non-fighters out of the way, would have been explaining our side of things. There are many of these individuals who wrongly believe she isn't capable of discussion, and having proved them wrong, we had gained something out of it that can be used as future references. There are other situations I can likely give an answer to what might be her line of thinking, but that would be better for you to ask which ones, than for me to pull, as seeing things is still better than being told. I would also suggest there should be no reason of shying away and approaching Lady Rukia if you feel there’s an issue, no matter who she is around."
She had likely said the gist of what she had needed to accomplish, but things could easily go on until the other Vampire arrived.

“There was a group of them on Namek? I have reports that Planet Natto was destroyed, and a group of them took over Planet Brench. There must have been some kind of feud among their race.”
While the HWRE’s information network was fairly efficient, it did have a tendency to let certain things slide under the radar. They only had so many people to spare. Planets like Earth had billions to work with, but the HWRE didn’t even have 5,000 people in it. And some of the people they did had were just normal citizens who didn’t do this kind of work.
As such, the information network they did have tend to zero in on subjects that concerned them. A great power conquering other worlds was something that they needed to keep track of. Other things included any type of information that could help them in their mission, and on locating Bijou and Elemi to being into the fold. Everything else was hit or miss, depending on whether or not they had someone surveying a particular system.
“So not all Saiyans adhere to invading other worlds. It might be worth my time making some type of negotiation with them. I suspect that their presence there is temporary, since another sentient species inhabits Namek. I need to know more about them before making any moves.”
Cryonia raised an eyebrow, shifting slightly on her seat. So Rukia considered their situation more important than she initially thought? She was used to being looked down upon or being dismissed by other races. This was a first.
“Forgive me if I am a little skeptical. but other species either don’t have sympathy for our plights or don’t care enough to assist us. One long running effort of mind is to find as many Bijou as possible and being them under my protection. Bijou are our sister race, who shared our planet before it became uninhabitable. They have many unique abilities, and are made up of gemstones. They also have regenerative properties. So there are many cases of Bijou being held captive and being farmed for the gems they produce.”
Granted a large part of why this was such a hard issue to deal with was that it wasn’t a big issue for the majority of the council. While their wasn’t a an official caste system, Elemi were considered to be above Bijou. Since the majority of the council was Elemi, no one outside of the three who were at least part Bijou considered it a priority. It was something she had to work with using little resources.
“Not all species seek to exploit us of course. But at the very least most aren’t willing to help with our plights. If Rukia considers my position important, then I am very grateful for it.”
There was a tone of appreciation in her voice, despite the sceptism she had. Being treated with proper respect was always welcome, as rare as it was. If Rukia considered her position important, than Cryonia would be more eager to work things out with her. Mutual respect made things more promising.
It was surprising enough that Rukia had agreed to provide some financial aide. She was sure there be some kind of catch later down the line. Yet the Vampire seemed sincere in wanting to help them. She would have to thank Rukia in proper the next time they met.
Cryonia closed her eyes, pressing her fingertips against her temple. The issue of unity was ever present in the background. It was good that Rukia seemed willing to help against invaders too, and it was yet another thing she would thank the Vampire for. Still, the talk of how people tended to put their chips in one place.
“We don’t have a choice other than to put all of our chips on rebuilding Matteria. When we returned to this galaxy, many members of of our race had lost a sense of unity. Many scattered across the various worlds. The HWRE has given us a purpose. Matteria is what is and what continues to hold our culture together. Should it be destroyed, then Elemi culture will eventually cease to exist.”
Protecting their home world was a priority most species had. It was even more imperative for the Elemi to do so. Without it their sense of unity would collapse. Elemi were free natured in general. Without the homeland they cherished, they would scatter throughout the cosmos. Which was why some type of protection was necessary.
Cryonia opened her eyes, looking at the Vampire solemnly as it asked whether or not she would week vengeance if something had happened to her colleague. A very interesting question that she was willing to answer.
“I cannot speak for the council, since we view things from different perspectives. If it was just me and the opportunity presented itself, I would weigh my options before making a decision. Taking vengeance hastily could lead to others losing their lives. I won’t endanger my people and condemn them to fight a hopeless battle.”
Cryonia nodded in affirmation when the Vampire brought up that they should set up a new routine. Now they could make things official and set up their partnership properly. It was nice to do things in a civil manner like this.
The hybrid gripped the arms of the chair tightly when she felt the Vampire’s power shoot up. The only physical change appeared to be her eyes though. It wasn’t the most flashy transformation she had ever seen. The fact that she was increasing her power was putting Cryonia a little on edge. There wasn’t a change in her facial expression. But her body was noticeably tense. She was prepared for a flight or fight response if she had to resort to it.
Fortunately it seemed like like the Vampire didn't mean her any sort of harm. Which confused Cryonia as to why she would transform in the first place. Putting that aside for the time being, Cryonia took in everything the vampire briefed her on. This was a lot of information to process, but she kept up with it. The info about the type of beings Rukia was interested in.
“If Rukia desires someone who is qualified or needs, then I should be able to suffice. Devotion though is something that is earned. She's seemed to get it from all the others you have mentioned. Getting it from me depends on her actions.”
Cryonia's eyes followed the Vampire’s, which was looking over at a human. She looked very lively as she went about her chores. Rukia had gathered or attracted many different types of beings. They all seemed to respect her too. She certainly was charismatic.
“I don’t know anything about the projected milestones that have been set up here. This planet seems rather isolated compared to others. I imagine it would take a native some time to get used to things around here.”
Cryonia turned her gaze back to the Vampire. While Rukia didn't care if she was the strongest, she certainly wanted Cryonia to be able to hold their own in a fight. Cryonia was more of a scientist than a martial artist. Although she supposed there were going to be some occupational hazards involved if she was to work together with Rukia.
“I’m not sure how strong the average Super Saiyan is. I don't have a reference point to gauge how strong they are. Is the form you're currently in as powerful as a Super Saiyan?”
Maybe that was why she increased her power. Perhaps it was to help Cryonia understand where Rukia wanted her to be. Admittedly she would have to work hard to achieve that power: the amount of Elemi obtained amount super form that she knew of could be counted on one hand.
Cryonia interlocked her fingers together, laying them in her lap as she listened attentively. There was more to the Vampire race and Rukia then she thought. Not that she ever viewed them as simple, but she didn't expect the amount that this information provided. She was getting a fairly good impression on Rukia and Vampires in general.
“Death isn’t easy for any culture to accept. Religion is at its core, beliefs that a race uses to cope with death. They have their own explanations as to where they go after they die. Vampires seem to be no different from any other race in that regard.”
Cryonia had traveled to many different planets. There wasn’t an alien culture she encountered that didn’t fear death to some degree. She found a little odd that Vampires though that others felt that way. Maybe it was just a unique aspect of their own culture.
“It would be a rather one sided arrangement if I didn't get involved with her affairs and provides assistance when needed. As for her behavior, beings have different ways of coping. I imagine you would get used to killing eventually. Despite that, Rukia is less far gone than the beings who have attacked Earth. If wouldn't be making this deal if I thought she was a lost cause. It isn't my place to judge her for what she has done. As long as she abides by our agreement, I have no moral objections to her actions.”
The Vampire closed her eyes for a brief moment. Cryonia wondered what was going through her head in that short span of time. She couldn’t read minds, so she could only surmise as to what was going on. The moment passed before Cryonia could give it enough thought though.
“If she's done all of this, then I don't doubt your words on the matter. Someone without any empathy wouldn't bother to make civilized deals in the first place. So, she wears masks of her own? That’s understandable. You can't show weakness to your enemies.”
Cryonia moved a hand under her chin, looking at the Vampire with interest as she said that Rukia didn't plan to exploit her the way she apparently was possible planning to be with others. It was dawning on her just how important their deal was to the Vampire. If she was going to treat her as an equal and be more willing to the possibility of having to show weakness, then that showed she was taking things very seriously.
“Then perhaps someday I’ll have to take my own mask off and show her what's underneath. Everyone breaks down at some point in their lives. My breakdown shattered who I once was. There's barely anything left within my heart of ice.”
Cryonia meant that both figuratively and literally. As half Bijou, she had a particular weak spot on her body that was made of her crystal. In this case, Ice. This weak spot was in a fitting location for someone like her.
Cryonia took in the aspects of Vampire life talked about, such as their education. Or rather lack thereof. The semblance of a normal life had been taken from them. Still, there was much worse that could have befallen them.
“Rukia has kept you safe from the horrors of the universe. Losing these experiences isn’t a loss anyone should endure. But you really are lucky to have someone like Rukia to turn to.”
The sad truth was that many species, the consequences of a planetary invasion were usually much more severe. At one point planets were being bought and sold on an open market. The Vampires were fortunate that Earth still too after it was attacked.
“I concur: more publicity is what the HWRE needs. And I’ll need to spend as much time with Rukia as possible in order for this arrangement to thrive. I want as much expansion as possible: things will never come to fruition if we just hide in the shadows.”
Cryonia found herself lounging back in her chair, relaxing as she talked with the Vampire. She bad gotten completely over the power increase, so she wasn't as tense as she was earlier. She had no reason to believe that she was in any danger. She was just having a talk with someone who just happened to be stronger than her.
Then, an odd moment happened. An emotion seemed to make it through the stoic persona that Cryonia was known for. Her eyes closed, an amused smile spreading across her lips.
“So essentially I should go with the flow and avoid antagonizing Rukia like an idiot. I’m shocked that their first course of action was to try and fight her. Considering how strong she seems to be, it would be more advantageous to try and negotiate rather then trade insults. I imagine it didn't end well for that half-Saiyan.”
When she got to how she thought that the people who traded insults with Rukia met with a terrible fate, her tone carried with it a hint of excitement. It was almost like she was thrilled at the prospect of something terrible happening to that woman. Still, this moment of emotion didn't last long. She opened her eyes, calmly staring at the Vampire.
“Clearly these people should have gotten to know her better before making such brash accusations. If I have a question I need an answer to I’ll refer to you. Otherwise I’d prefer just to find out about Rukia by getting to know her. I won’t be shy about approaching her. I seem to be rather important to her, so I don't have anything to fear from her. Or at the very least our arrangement is important to her.”
Considering they had only met once before, Cryonia would find it strange if Rukia cared about her specifically as a person. She could see her considering the HWRE a valuable ally. Still, this Vampire made the distinction between the relationship between her and Rukia and some others by saying that she was not someone they planned on exploiting for their resources. It made Cryonia all the more interested in meeting with the Vampire again.
“I’ll make sure and go over everything with Rukia once we meet up. We’ve talked for a lengthy amount of time, yet I don't know your name. You certainly know mine, going by how detailed Rukia notes seem to be.”

Typically, at least from some of her personal encounters, and thoughts she had read in these documents, other beings had planets who were named similarly to what their race was called. Planet Brench, she knew had the Brenchians, with how much their Supidoan liked to go into depth about the battles they've had together. They were essentially partners in the field, and rather loyal. A relationships that she wouldn't say not too many beings out there really shared.
This Planet Natto, she understood to involve a branch of these Saiyans, but why derive away from what other planets were like? Was the hierarchy there just so dominant, the leader named it after themselves? It wouldn't exactly be an influence on the groups splitting, but it could be one of their factors.
"Well they don't seem to be the type of race that just goes extinct. The one Lady Rukia recruited when she had first began looking for allies, seems to fall into what these Saiyans would consider the old beliefs. Violent tendencies over decisions regarding morality, I would say."
Saiyans who were like Maiz, didn't seem to believe in the idea that who they killed, were really of any worth. Even one of their own, if they had showed weakness or had died to someone stronger, would be only laughed at. In a way, it was similar to what she had saw of Wintera, and could assume the Kold Demons were like. These two races had such a long history together as well, it was unsurprising they've both managed to continue their existence.
"The foundations they've already established there, has myself and the others doubt it's the case. And they've had quite awhile to possibly use the dragonballs of the planet to change that."
It wasn't a bad idea for another group to get on the faction's good side. The fact that they would potentially also be mutually associated with the brunette, only meant any future plans could bring the benefit of the doubt to light. And after that whole ordeal on Namek, it was one deserved.
The Saiyans there had already shown they weren't above being humble, and given the resources that could come from multiple alliances, it would only be beneficial to form an agreement. Although having the Elemi head towards Namek, and speak with the proper officials there, would require assistance.
"If you wish to negotiate with them, it's best if we offer some aid, since they're familiar with us already."
That raised eyebrow from this one, and what had came afterwards, she could understand the viewpoint she was hearing. Though even this was something she felt held similarity in being viewed as more complex than it really was. She could see how enjoyable it was however, to go back and forth like this.
There weren't too many individuals who held their kind of thinking, and while she held her own views, none of it had to really be seen as right. As the Elemi was already saying, it could be difficult to believe that an individual could really care about a large population as a whole. But an example of that could already be seen through certain governments, where its people looked up to what decisions were made, and generally respected it enough to follow it.
"I understand your concerns, but typically those of this planet still view other beings as people, and see them equally, regardless of whether or not they're from space. It might take a bit more exposure, though you can count on those who view themselves to be morally 'good' to speed that up."
Unfortunate as it was for this other race to really be used in such a way, there wasn't much she could really give an opinion on regarding it. Those with power could do what they wished, and it only took another stronger power to be able to change any of that. Even her own kind could be turned into captivity without the proper individuals to stop it. Any empathy she could have truly held, would mean so much more, if she had gone through this herself.
However, that didn't mean they wouldn't do their best to defend these different groups of people, under this alliance. Unlike certain ones they could see possibly forming in the future, this wasn't an agreement they could really see turning their backs against. Not when one of those representing it, she could see truly giving the other Vampire moments of what they would view as leisure, from all of the annoyances that could come from being a leader.
"Well it certainly helps that you have a mind that can consider other viewpoints. This place has seen some visitors in its beginnings that have completely misinterpret the kind of person she can really be, when there's no business to handle. A lot of people actually seem to forget are unaware how much maturity Vampires need to learn, if they wish to avoid death."
Once you were capable enough of having higher power than others, there was no real mistrust for those weaker, and maybe not even those who were a little bit higher in power. Typical weapons such as bullets weren't likely to really harm people of power, and it takes a lot to kill those who really trained.
For those who were like herself, any amount of tears that could have been shed after transitioning into this community, would dry up rather quickly outside of luck, which could only last so long. There was awareness gained from seeing and having to perform certain things, unless they wished to be forced to.
"The Saiyan group that's currently on Namek, I know for sure my lady has some concern for, in regards to disturbing practices the inhabitants are used to. Although unless there are proper individuals who can defend the area, and perhaps some segregation, there are some things that require adaptation. The scattered Elemi have likely already developed new practices, and it might be best to document just what you consider to be main ones now."
That was essentially a fear of losing one's identity, she had felt, hearing it. And so many beings who were out there, while might have shared similarities, certainly did differ in styles and beliefs. No society was truly one and the same, as identity was so very much a belief that could give some purpose.
Her own suggestion held some misfortune within it, knowing it was just reasonable enough that separation could very likely cause these individuals to develop new habits. But she wouldn't say these scattered Elemi would really ever forget what they had knew either. Some things were just instinct.
"Lots of individuals tend to be driven towards their emotions, and while there's no shame in doing so, I do agree with the idea there's a need for separation. Lady Rukia herself, has made clear to us that our lives aren't bargaining chips, and should misfortune fall on us so heavily, there would be no such thing as taking us hostage. Wanting to be apart of the danger that can come with a mission in the first place, it's what have always been our own decision. I know for sure any of our deaths, she wouldn't take lightly though, after what threat is taken care of."
Some of their lives the brunette saw more value in saving, as it was nothing short but a dream to believe one individual could save everyone. But that was why everyone here who agreed to work under her, did what they could to prepare and train themselves for disasters. There could certainly be the kind of fun those around here were already having, but there was a certain line and atmosphere where any of their usual antics just wouldn't be acceptable.
The grip on the seat from her own transformation, was rather noticeable, though nothing to really make a big deal out. Being already tall when she had first became a Vampire, her forms weren't too different from what the brunette had, beyond some body adjustments here and there. Typically, being a Countess for she and the others meant they more resembled those who had only just turned 18, and having the body that emphasized what youth was akin to uni students.
"Well you're certainly not going to find her doing any obvious pandering. There's only so much she would directly acknowledge herself, rather than be subtle with things. Back on Namek, for example, a warning given about our Saiyan ally was misconstrued due to her actions and their perception of her power. I do believe my own change here, might have stirred a bit of a warning for you."
What she did was sudden after all, and being in the mansion like this, as well as their territory, it was understandable having the idea that things could go wrong. But it was also this kind of belief, that she believed might have been laughed at by her the brunette, if only because of its simplicity.
"I would suggest gaining some confidence through acquiring higher power yourself, if that's the case. There might have been a time when my lady was young enough to take advantage of what we would consider to be easy kills, but she's progressed and changed enough to see the benefits of working with others and leaving certain individuals alive, depending on their rationale. This idea of a quick kill is too simple."
There was certainly truth that what was here on earth, might have been lesser than those on other planets. But this place was a tourist trap for hybrids for a reason, and did hold strong fighters. She supposed it just wasn't quite enough to really emphasize that, especially with the Saiyans as competition.
Though there also seemed to be a lack of awareness on just how strong individuals this planet often saw, actually were. Saiyans, with how often they copulated with other beings, you were likely to have a very accurate and basic gauge of what a good reach of power was for a person.
"A bit above for more stronger Vampires like Lady Rukia. It's quite surprising to hear you're not aware of how strong Saiyans can get. Super Saiyan seems to be child's play to them, hearing that even their children can access it. While we plan on making use of Capsule Corp's scouters in the near future for allies not keen on fighting, most of us can tell from our own forms, just how powerful we need to be to match them."
Nothing which anyone who didn't pay attention around here, would be able to learn. This was all survival to be around an individual who had apparently started out having to scrub away bloodstains, and was nothing more than a number, within her own coven. Expected, due to being relatively new back then, but the brunette had been far better off taking leadership for herself, than she ever was, sticking in a group that wasn't under her kind of support.
"The stigma that could come from culling in the first place, is what outsiders tend to hold against her, I suppose because its essentially choosing who gets to live. But these inherent abilities gained upon accepting the transition, we're certain some of these changes are meant to be a punishment for even working with blood magic."
The response from the Elemi was one of the things she was hoping to hear with all of this. It wasn't information that was rather easy to explain, and they were likely to do so, time and time again, with those who weren't aware of it. But that was just always going to be likely due to the belief of morality.
"And I thank you for having the reason to see that. As much as we're hoping to simplify these explanations, it's the perception of power and the belief for a need of just one morality that gets in the way of things. Only the idea of having certain and influential individuals on our side, could possibly make this process easier. For my lady, it all winds down to business in the end."
Hiding one's true feelings on the matter, seemed like it was just always going to be necessary with leadership. Showing concern meant the chance of being manipulated by others, which someone like the brunette wouldn't have allowed. She could likely swallow the idea of losing at least some of them, but do whatever in her power it took to save the rest, and take vengeance in the kind of way that those involved would remember just who they were dealing with.
"Power can really only offer so much security in the first place, and the lives of others beyond our own, they can't always just be in our grasps."
The more that they had talked, the more it seemed like she was really covering with the Elemi, just what was needed to know about the other Vampire. Her tells were the most difficult, knowing it worked based off of acting on one's own beliefs, but that chance was likely to usually be also beneficial.
"And that much, I don't believe she would push too hard. Being sentimental in any way is a choice, and around what she would consider to be business, it wouldn't be a thing she would strive for until things are over."
She also felt similarly when it had came to revealing some kind of attachment, although knew she was more open about it than someone like the brunette. But they really all dealt with things differently, and believing that the universe would treat them right with certain decisions, was it for her.
"You don't really see a group like this too often. Most individuals seem to surround themselves with figures you wouldn't doubt had power. We're certainly not the poster child of an army."
A simple nod had came from her at the Elemi's next response, and hearing the willingness of what this representative wanted to try striving for. Development really wasn't going to get anywhere if there was too much fear, and this whole thing in the first place, likely would end up seeing some bumps.
"He was mocked by her, but due to it being on the grounds of the Namekians, no real action could have been taken. I would say it heavily played a role in forming an alliance with the Saiyans there however, knowing how mistreated she and the others were. But individuals like that, I know Lady Rukia would wish death upon. If you can believe in the idea of reincarnation, a mindset of that sorts is better off starting anew."
But there wasn't too much she really had comments about regarding that spite. The other Vampire would likely focus on it for quite some time and use it as an example of what not to do with them, but she felt it was best to move onto what would have otherwise been a laughable incident, knowing this Saiyan had been so alone with his decision, that he had defied the guardians there. It was unfortunate he likely wasn't punished for doing so either.
"I would say it certainly helps to be forward with her, although it might feel unusual, when you really see these masks of hers."
It was easy to talk down to someone in the field of battle, but a noticeable difference in more relaxed places, to see something so casual. There was just a whole different air to seeing that someone who was so heavily business oriented, could actually not bring up something remotely related to work.
"Ah, that's an easy thing to forget. It's Natsumi. I'll be looking forward to seeing you around, knowing not all of us here really live with her."
The power that she had released had all but died down as they got to such a simple matter. In the field of battle, and seeing those who were strong individuals, the names of their enemies were hardly a concern. And they were likely to remember titles more than anything else because of it.
Though for her, this had just been a slip of the mind.
