The illusionary symphony of movement rang through the small room that was converted into a gym, as the two clashed toe to toe against another. Legs were swung, only to meet the emptiness of air as what was once there moved in an effort to evade. Blows that were stricken were rightfully redirected or blocked in a method that would cause nay harm to the participant’s body. It was alike a refined dance, the form of the two while one was a bit rigid and unrefined the fluid motions of the older member was sparkling like a gem. But if the man was a gem, the woman was like a rare valued crystal covered with layers of dirt but still letting some of its beauty flow out of its stains. With a precise kick, the man fell, crashing to the ground with a thud. A wince appeared on his face, slowly warded away to form a smile. “Maybe I’m getting a bit too old for this.” He said, adjusting his rough looking hat. The woman peered down, looking a little unamused but equally as fatigued as the one that was on the floor. “Don’t lie, I can tell you were taking it easy on me, dad.”
It was a usual routine for Mint, doing a work out or training in the morning in order to get her blood flowing and keeping her alert for any surprises that may happen in the day. It was only by guilt tripping the man with her puppy dog eyes that she managed to rope Chife, her adoptive father and teacher into helping her out. Heaving himself up to his leg, he flashed a smile. “Well I would give you another dose of a demonic lesson, but aren’t you forgetting that you need to be somewhere today. I may be retired, but I still have enough connections to know that you’re being reassigned to another team.” Chife was always keeping tabs on his daughter, while they weren’t biologically related with the years that passed they were practically like a tight-knitted family. Her head bobbed, acknowledging his words with actions, making her way to the side of the room to wipe a forehead with a flannel. “Mhm, something to do with the new management shifting.” Her hand then took a bottle of water, gulping it down before continuing. “I don’t mind it, gives me more chances to work with new people and maybe pick something off from them, it also means that I have less share of the paperwork to fill as well.” Chife let out a little chuckle at her words, since he was an higher-up when he was in the force he knew very well of the daunting task that paperwork presented.
“Well, I wish you the best of luck with your new comrade. I did a bit of peeking and I can say he’s an interesting one with an interesting track record as well.” The man, making his way beside his daughter and giving her a little pat on her head, in response she turned around slightly bloating her cheek. “Hey, don’t spoil me. You know I like to learn about people personally myself, people often differ from what rumours and their records say about them.” Mint knew that quite well, as info about her in the police force often caused people to judge her as a troubled person, well she did used to be that way but she’s quite different granted people get a chance to meet her. “Don’t worry, I won’t tell you any details, I respect the privacy of guys whom choose to join the force so I let him choose to tell you about himself. But just watch your head and keep tabs on him.” Mint knew very well that Chife meant well so his words would be completely listened to. Taking her stuff and rushing off to the next room, she lifted up an arm to perform a nonchalant wave. “Don’t worry, I will.”
It took some time to get washed and changed into her standard work attire, after all even though it was a meeting she still had do perform her duties after and once all done she made her way from her home to the capital, more specifically the main branch building in which she was called to meet their boss. Although she did say that she was the type of person to judge a person by meeting them first, her mind couldn’t stop but feel rather curious about her colleague. Thanks to her dad, she already pieced together that he was a guy much to her own dismay. There were much more males than woman in the force so she never got the chance to see another girl in action, but rather her interest was more tailored to his fighting ability. Would he be a strong person? Or someone weaker than herself? Although she didn’t mind pairing up with a weakling, being with someone strong would allow her to grow and eventually develop her powers that she’s been working on daily. After all, she had to become stronger. She needed to. She wasn’t going to be discarded. She wasn’t going to be killed and tossed away.
As Mint’s mind almost drifted off into a dark place, it seemed that she already had arrived to the location after a quick flight. Ki was pretty useful in enabling fast travel as using a vehicle would result in the trip taking an hour or two. Descending from her airborne status, with a hop to the ground, she weaved her way through the entrance. A few greetings here and there thrown out to people whom she knew as she passed through the offices and rooms, all to make her way to the glass walled door of the boss’s office. It wasn’t the first time that she had been in here, but it would be the first with the change of management. It was rather fortunate that she wasn’t a troublemaker like in past, as she did have a few bad memories of walking in here just to be yelled at. Peering through the man himself seemed to be in there, without company as it would seem that her new comrade or comrades haven’t arrived just yet.
“Ah, come in. We’re just waiting for Rutaba’s arrival before I can inform you about your new team and what tasks you’ll need to be undertaking.” The man said with a firm, yet friendly tone. He seemed quite old, but you could tell with one glance that he was a seasoned warrior and had a number of experiences under his belt. Mint nodded her head, sliding her way through and making her way to sit on one of the available chairs, merely waiting with a bit of anxiety and excitement forming at her chest as she kept a watch at the door.
An Alarm would ring out in Rutaba's room within the SDF HQ, the sound making the peacekeeper's eyes slowly open up, before reaching over to disable the device. The Saiyan would turn in his bed, relaxing for a moment to let out a bit of a soft sight. Today was the day he was meant to meet some person in the Defense Force. They weren't new by any means, but to him, it was someone he hadn't met before. Some sort of change in management brought this about, and it was quite bizarre to believe that he was going to be apart of a team of sorts again, even if only one person for now it seemed. It had been quite some time now since his previous squad was wiped out by a traitor among them... the pain was still great but it had been enough time for him to at least start moving forward to become apart of a new group. Rutaba would check the time, realizing that he would have to go to that meeting soon enough. He didn't want to be rude and show up too late, so he finally decided to get out of bed and stop being so lazy.
The Peacekeeper would make sure to freshen himself up a bit. Taking a shower, eating something small (for a saiyan...), and then getting dressed in his old squad's battle gear, wearing his heavy-weighted clothing over it. He was getting more used to that sort of attire, but he couldn't help but feel it still gave him an edge in his training than he would ever have without the weighted clothes. In any case, he felt like he was ready to go to meet this person that he was supposed to be on a team with for the time being. Without too much urgency, he would leave his room and make sure everything was powered down. He still had some time to get to this meeting, so on his way, he would pull out his little datapad, looking through it to see into this person that he was meant to meet. All in all, they seemed pretty capable so at it seemed he wouldn't have to deal with someone entirely green, not that he would have minded. He just wasn't too sure on his ability to teach someone from the ground up. There was a bit in here as well about some trouble... but those reports sort of died out as time went on, the person was probably more reformed by now. Even if they weren't, though, he would definitely attempt to give them a chance. If Demalia or Rose had been there, however, they probably would have commented on another aspect of who he was meeting up with, which was sort of unfortunate to his luck, but he didn't mind. It was all just coincidence that about eighty percent of the people he was meeting recently were female, right? Right.
With all of that wrapped up, Rutaba would put the datapad away, not needing to read on. He wanted to see this person face to face, not through files. This just brought more thoughts to his mind, however. He had been alone for so long apart from Demalia, who he couldn't really call a work partner, more a life partner and someone who had asked him to do a job. What if he couldn't work alongside people anymore on the force due to how long he spend just doing solo patrols? Working with anyone again would take some adjusting for sure... but he would do his best for the sake of the Force. The time between then and when he arrived at the room was relatively empty, just greeting passerby on his way as he tried to get there within a decent timeframe.
At last, the Saiyan would be outside of the glass wall of the office, looking inside as he walked by it and saw the people sitting inside. He would let out another soft sigh before taking a slow breath outside of the door, opening it up and heading inside, smiling at both the seasoned older man and his supposed new comrade. "I apologize, I hope you two didn't wait long." he would keep his first introduction brief, moving inside to sit in one of the other empty chairs as he would let himself ease into the situation. The mood of the room didn't seem too bad from what he could tell, so at best he wasn't in trouble with this new reassignment. It was most likely just something done out of a need to place him elsewhere than just alone.
Slowly, the Saiyan would sit back in the chair, looking over towards Mint with a soft smile and a nod. "Nice to meet you, my name is Rutaba. Though... you probably already know that." he would hold his hand out towards her, giving her the opportunity to have a hand shake if she wanted. Whether or not she obliged, however, was up to her. Regardless of the outcome, he would move his hand back once the outcome was clear, moving his vision back to the man. "I suppose it is just us two? Not that it'll be a problem, just out of... curiosity." he'd look back towards Mint as he spoke the latter half, trying to let her know that he wasn't disappointed that it was only one other person. "I've only worked with five-person teams and solo stuff, so consider this a first for me." he'd try to speak softly, despite the very new situation. He didn't want to give a bad first impression for sure.
At that point, he felt like he had everything he needed to ask at first to the man up front, his vision turning back towards Mint after a small silence. "I look forward to working with you, if you have any questions... feel free to ask. I am a relatively open book." now, he would pause. He had said his piece of mind at this point, now it was up to her. [Thread PL: 29,095] [Heavy Weights: 7,274]
The faint visage of a male came to view behind the glass door entrance; even after he entered she could tell that there wasn’t anything that was quite significant about him in terms of looks. The stranger was slightly on the average size on the height spectrum with raven hair and eyes. If anything, he seemed to look like any typical Saiyan. It seemed like quite the contrast to the fact that she could easily tell that he was someone with an aura of strength flowing from him that she couldn’t help but feel a little surprised at the two factors. “No, you’re just on time.” Their superior spoke, providing the younger male an approving nod of his head as he patiently waited for him to sit down. Mint merely kept her eye on the newcomer closely, observant to see if anything was strange about him, all the while lifting the edges of her lips to form a smile radiating amiableness.
He produced a swift greet, a pleasant one at that. While she did know his name, it was only due to it being mentioned a bit earlier, so she wasn’t quite sure if that was accurate. Mint looked down towards the hand that was offered to her, lifting up her own and with a fast arc, she swept it down to grasp him with a firm grasp. “You can call me Mint, nice to meet you.” She was a bundle of energy, probably because the great start to the day that she had, but she certainly wanted to leave a good and lasting impression. After all first impressions normally defined how things would be between people and she certainly didn’t want an awkward or irritating mess to deal with on a daily basis. “-Right.” Their superior would cut in with a cough into a cupped hand, before peering his gaze at the two as if he was sizing them up and analysing them both.
“Yes, you two will be working together from now on. You may suspect this to be an odd move granted how you used to work in a bigger group Rutaba, but there’s reasoning behind this.” His arms crossed, providing a light sigh. “With the recent changes to how the force works we currently need every member to be at least working with another person, a few incidents occurred as of late that could have been prevented by having this enforced earlier on.” Mint raised her brow in curiosity at the mention of incidents, after all that was something that was new to her. Was it due to the fact that the capital has been popular with odd figures as of late? “While I would find it a bit more perfect to have your squad consist of more soldiers, with all the changes going on a lot of people are being assigned to different cities and different planets as a move of the higher ups to provide more safety to the citizens and give them peace of mind, leaving less men to hand out. However this doesn’t mean that someone else won't be assigned to your team in the future.” The brunette continued to be a bit bewildered, not quite fully understanding what was going on. Was it some kind of political move, gaining the trust of the citizens for some cause? Perhaps because a new person came into leadership of the force that they were trying to gain favour so they can stay in power for longer.
“Now, why have I chosen you two as partners instead of someone else you may ask?” His hand moved towards the side, picking up two files with their names on it, and placing it on the desk in front of the two. “I examined your history, your past work on the force and your current performance and I believe as of now you two would work best together.” His eyes would look towards Mint as a feeling of intimidation would flow from him, leaving her to gulp having bad flash-backs of being scolded in this position. “Mint, your performance in the force has been improving as of late considering how you were when you first enlisted. However, you still are one to make rash decisions and ultimately you’re a bit too tied down with your past to be left alone. I personally have served with your adoptive father so I know you’re receiving the right guidance however being with a member much more experienced than you on the field will do you good.” All of those were reasons that she couldn’t help but agree with, but she did feel a bit bitter about the mention of her past. Nerveless, she obediently nodded to his words, accepting them begrudgingly.
“Rutaba, despite the fact that you have been working on your own your performance so far has been outstanding. However despite the misfortunate incident that has happened in the past, you will find yourself working with others even if you don’t want to and you need to readjust yourself to getting used to that. While I do sympathise with your position, I do believe mint is a person that you can trust but I also want you to guide her being a member of the force much longer than her. There’s still a lot for her to learn and I do believe this experience will aid you as well.” Mint couldn’t help but feel like she was being a bit undermined with the fact that she was being seen as inexperienced. But she supposed that she didn’t have a chance to deal with any major cases with most of Sadal being peaceful twenty-four seven. But she couldn’t help but feel a sensation of curiosity towards what else was said, fortunately she didn’t think it was right to try and delve into people’s past if she didn’t want hers probed either.
“The work that you’ll be assigned to do will be sent to you soon. So, do you two have any questions? Any objections to this team and suggestions you want to make. Don’t stray away; I’m all open to suggestions.” He asked the two, with his eyes staring at both of them in a rhythmic manner. Mint would merely sink into a thinking posture, attempting to drum up any ideas however with the whole thing being rather solid she couldn’t think of a thing to add on. Thus, her attention diverted back to Rutaba, seeing if he had any problems about them being grouped.
The Saiyan would smile as Mint responded in kind with the handshake, she seemed to be relatively nice and lively so on that front, it wouldn't be a problem. He couldn't handle working with people who were negativity at all times, there needed to be some sort of hope in his teammates. He would stop looking over towards her as the superior coughed into his hand, turning his attention back to what was at hand. The Peacekeeper would just relax more into the chair as the supervisor started to speak about the specifics of what was going on. "The size is not an issue, sir. Us two should be more than enough, if we get another person great, but otherwise we should be just fine." he would smile to himself as he kept relaxing in the chair. He did fairly fine on his own, but it was true that having others around would provide a boon to safety. Even just one more person would help, she had some room to grow but growth was always an option.
His gaze would remain on the superior even as they begun to talk about Mint, more keeping his thoughts in his head for the time being. His words did give off that sense of progression for the other Saiyan, apparently, she stopped making trouble, but rash decisions could get somebody killed on a mission if the cards were played wrong. He couldn't help but sympathize with her being tied to her past, even Rutaba himself was tied to what happened with Azukai and his old squad. It was hard to push past the things that shaped your very self, no? He would have to let her know that it was okay once they were alone and out of their supervisor's hair, but she didn't seem too happy when she nodded, so perhaps it would have to wait. A team consisted of people who trusted and liked one another, to work with each other as if they were siblings, making things awkward between them would only be a downfall for their teamwork.
At last, it was time to talk about Rutaba a bit. The superior started by somewhat stroking Rutaba's ego, making the Saiyan shake his head sort of slowly. He didn't really do anything outstanding, he got a lot stronger and he certainly tried his best but he was just another soldier. That was when the superior would bring up the own incident in his past, looking down for a moment before smirking. Demalia had helped him a bit on that front... he had to push forward, be happier again, not just close himself up inside. "Yes, sir. From both a personal standpoint and a work standpoint, I understand. I won't mind working with others. I will do my best to help both of us progress, as a team. We're both important to one another in that sense to grow." he would look over to Mint after he spoke, giving a sort of soft smile. He wasn't too sure what to think of them just yet... but his superiors went out of their way to put him together with his old squad, and they practically became a happy family for his time with them. Hopefully, they would be right again with this person, he just didn't want to lose anybody else.
It would all be left off fairly open-ended, with the superior asking them if they had any questions. Rutaba himself ended up just pausing for a few moments, staring with a thoughtful look before nodding. "I have no objections to this team, it would be unfair to either of us to make judgments before taking some time to know each other. I just have to ask... if we find someone who seems to be alone, and we both find them good to work with, so assuming we both find someone good. Is it within our ability to request that they join this team? I know we may get others assigned, but it might be more efficient if we can find people we work well with too." after asking his question, the Saiyan would sit up in the chair and stretch a bit. For a meeting for something so important, it was pretty relaxing. He would now stand up, rolling his shoulders for a second before asking further. "Does this mean that this meeting is over, though? If work will come in soon, anyways. If we have any more to talk about, I will sit back down. But if it is over, we may as well go get to know each other a bit, right?" he would slowly look between their superior and Mint, speaking to both of them in a way with this final sendoff.
Upon having a listen to Rutaba’s words that were presented in the meeting there was one thing that wouldn’t escape Mint’s attention about her co-worker. His words appeared to have an air of maturity based on the way that his spoke, if she had to assume whether he was someone that seemed trustworthy based on his earlier displays, Rutaba at the very least wouldn’t have any trouble working with him and listening to him at any case. Her left hand curled it’s way around her right wrist, rotating slowly, a little knack of hers often presented when she’s deeply thinking about something.
“I wouldn’t normally allow for people to choose their members, I personally review teams in order to account for both growth and to see the best way to prevent any problematic incidents which may jeopardize the lives civilians and the squad. However granted that you file a request with me and a background check doesn’t show any problems that may deter me from giving an O-K, I’ll be willing to allow for this to happen. Does this compromise sit well with you?” It wasn’t the easiest of processes, but it seemed like the man had to be on top of these matters else he wouldn’t be doing his job correctly. Mint however was a little curious to why that question was asked. Did Rubata already have a person in mind to be place within the squad, or was he just asking for future reference? While she didn’t mind more company, Mint felt it would be a little problematic if she would end up being the third-wheel if the man invited friends to join up although he didn’t seem like the type to be asked someone to join a squad just because they were buddies.
Within the time that this took to be said however, a question that concerned her did however plop up within her brain. Tightening the grip around her wrist, with a little bit of hesitation in her voice she presented forward her own query. “Does… this mean that I’ll need to involve Rutaba my personal investigation regarding the-” Hesitation pushed her words to come to an halt, as she bit down on her lip choosing to remain silent for a bit. The superior stared at the woman, sighing he could tell what she was talking about due to checking up on her recent files. “Any research you do in our databases can be incognito if need be, however if you are undertaking an active search on any leads that you have found you will have to involve your squad in the matter in order to limit the risk of danger. This strictly means that you’re not allowed to go on your own into danger.” The last lines were spoken in a deep and sharp tone, Mint merely having her eyes staring towards the side with explicit uncomfortably in the answer. It was a pickle indeed, but she was determined to investigate this matter on her own even at the cost of breaking rules.
Gently the woman rose up, her displeasure still evident on her face even though she later flashed Rutaba a false smile. “Yes. That would be all. If any complications occur, report them to me and I’ll attempt to deal with them whether they are about your squad or something else of importance. Otherwise, you can report to the manager at your branch station.” “I’ll be sure to do that if anything comes up.” Mint said in acknowledgement, taking a brief few steps towards the exit before twisting around and glancing at Rutaba. She was quite aware of the suggestion that he made earlier and had no reasons in order to decline, feeling as she needed to learn a bit more about him before actually trusting him whether it came down to the wire. “Sure, I’m up for a chat. It’s better to learn about you now before I do something stupid such as give you an allergic reaction to a peanut butter sandwich I gave to you.” It may have been seen as a joke, but that incident did actually occur once and she wasn’t too keen to make a little mistake like that again. “Have you got any idea on where to talk?” The Saiyan let out, turning around and lightly pushing at the door to leave the room, expecting to be followed.
As the Superior responded, Rutaba would give a firm nod as if to clear up any misunderstandings. "Of course, it was more out of a desire to allow us to build up a potential team easier if we have a need for it. Sometimes there are diamonds hidden out there, that can't be found through paperwork till brought in. But I'd rather do a background check regardless of if it was necessary or not." he would smile as he would understand that the process wasn't exactly an easy one, but adding someone new wasn't supposed to be. He had nobody off the top of his head that would even join the force or be able to become apart of their team. If they found any candidates... it'd be someone new, or someone this new comrade of his had known. He would just relax in the chair further as the other Saiyan seemed worried about something.
Her words hesitated and her body language was very extreme... it was worrisome but he didn't want to push her to get answers or anything. It was her own life to decide and he would not go out of his way to make her speak, especially not in front of their superior. If she wanted to open up about it she could do so at her own pace. Hopefully, if she got to open up to him, she would let him in on whatever was making her uncomfortable with the answer the supervisor gave. As much as he wanted people to follow the rules, for the most part, he couldn't do anything if she hid stuff from him, and if she opened up to no longer need to hide it, he would become apart of it. It was all a matter of trust, he didn't mind that she didn't quite know about him yet.
The Saiyan's own smile would drop a bit seeing the displeasure on her face as they seemed to be ready to head out. Rutaba wanted to make her feel at home in the team, but he couldn't say he didn't feel a small lack of comfort being apart of a team again in the first place. But as he knew very well he had to move forward with it, he just had to hope she could do the same. He would give a respectful bow to the supervisor before turning to leave as well, stopping as Mint acknowledged his words from earlier. Her words sounded so oddly specific, though. "I... I should be fine." he would rub the back of his head, was he allergic to any food items that he should tell her about? It was sort of a subject he hadn't thought of before. So many foods were good... the idea that one could hurt you or be dangerous to your life was utterly absurd! To him, anyways.
Once more, the Saiyan would bid the supervisor farewell before walking out the door with his new comrade, looking up for a moment. "So many places to go... if you aren't too busy anytime soon, we could always go on a mock patrol. If we catch anyone doing something we can always stop them as well, but for the most part, it'll just be walking and talking." he would suggest this at first, before pondering for a moment. "Though, if you want to talk a bit while testing each other in combat, that could be interesting as well. I am always interested in a little sparring among allies. And of course, if you have any preferences, I am up for anything. I'm pretty carefree when it comes to pastimes." he would put his hands behind his head as he would start to walk towards the exit, heading outside of the HQ to make sure that they were open to discussion on what to do next. For a brief moment, he would look around the wide open city. It was what he was used to... but the nature of the world was so much nicer as well.
He would ponder for a few more moments, he didn't want to tag on more and more choices... but it was hard not to. For now, he would settle for what he gave her, turning with a smile. "I guess we could start talking now, though, while we decide. So, Mint... I just want to say now that we are out here, don't worry too much about me when it comes to your personal stuff. I won't butt in unless you ask me to. But we're partners now, so please, if you need help don't hesitate. Otherwise, everyone has stuff they have to deal with... don't let me hold you back." he would give her a warm, but sort of understanding smile. He had his own things to deal with, and they were hidden in his closet as well. He didn't know if he had the will to bring them out right off the bat to people he couldn't trust too well. She had every right to keep stuff to herself. Nonetheless, he would continue on. "That being said... is there anything you need to ask about me? I am alright with answering questions if you are curious and need to get things like that out of the way." he would stop there for now, feeling he had asked her enough.
With her words it seemed that he certainly found it a little odd that she stuck something about an allergy in there, it was something that she found odd herself. A Saiyan being allergic to any food felt like outright blasphemy, but it was a past lesson that allowed her to be attentive to what kind of reaction her efforts may produce. Mint made sure to give her superior a wave, while there was a few thigs brought up that she didn’t quite like that was said; the man was simply doing his job and genuinely did seem to care for the well-being of his men. Although something about his words about her past and the mentioning of her foster dad seemed to make her believe that he was somehow involved on divulging a few details about her to her superior knowing how well her dad liked to stick himself into her business. She’d take a mental note to have a little word with him later, showcasing slight contained irritation as she did.
With a skilful swing of bat, her question about a decision on what to do was redirected to her as the two were heading out of the HQ, Mint sure to provide a few waves of her hand to members that she knew or were familiar with on the way out just to be polite. It was a sly act indeed, but the Saiyan didn’t particularly mind having a few choice options of her own. “I’m surprised that none of your ideas was just to find a nice place to just stop and chat.” She’d point out, wondering if he happened to be a workaholic of some sorts that wasn’t the type to remain still. “Both of your ideas are pretty good! A patrol would allow for a chat, but a spar would allow for us to see how exactly we would deal with something like an attack.” Plus, it would allow for her to see how strong exactly he is. Considering she was able to sense that he was strong, she did have an idea, but strength wasn’t always everything when it came down to a fight as there was numerous other factors in there. A stray pointer finger nestled upon her lower lip, as she stared to whatever was above her in thought. “I don’t have any preferences of my own with these kinds of things. I’m used to talking while training with my dad in the mornings, so I guess I’d be more inclined to pick that.”
The breeze of the wind, along with the bustling noises of the city made her feel awfully calm in comparison to her having to be a little energetic in the HQ in order to conceal anxious emotions. She shifted a glance to her feet, listening to Rutaba words and taking a breath in order to clear her thoughts. “I know. It isn’t my first rodeo.” She did suppose her prior actions showed that she had signs that she didn’t trust the other Saiyan, but that couldn’t be helped. Even if they are now work-partners she couldn’t quite grow to trust someone that she just met, despite how carefree she may try to make herself act. “If something does come up, I’ll make sure to tell you. But for now it’s nothing to worry about. Honestly.” Mint feigned another false smile, a bit recognizable than the last. If people were objects, she’d be a box with multiple locks. It would certainly take a lot of work finding the keys that would unlock her shackles.
“I don’t have anything to ask you about, unless you’ve got anything to divulge about yourself.” It was clear that her words were likely influenced a bit about her still anxious state. “If you want to know about me, all I can tell you is that I’m pretty much what you see. I just want to do a little good for others, like what’s been done for me. It’s also a good excuse to stay in top shape and get stronger as well.” Her arm stretched out, showing it’s slightly muscular form as she pressed a hand upon it, as her showcase that she was quite fit and well. “I’m normally at my home at the outskirts of the capital, if not working. Probably training or just fiddling with a few… things.” While she could tell him that those things happen to be gadgets of some sorts, she knew very well that most Saiyans weren’t interested in that kind of stuff so purposely left it out. After all, it wasn’t like she didn’t have someone she could talk about those things with. “My favourite food would probably be anything sweet, cakes especially. And apart from liquorish I don’t think I have anything I hate.”
The brunette halted in her steps, expectant on the male to lead her someplace. She didn’t quite know where exactly they were heading and figured that Rutaba had figured out a place they would head to whether it was for a spar or a patrol. With a twist to face him, with hands held behind her back, she’d finally ask. “So, you’ve decided on our plan for today?”
With a soft chuckle, Rutaba would start to rub the back of his head again as she pointed out that none of his ideas were just something sort of soft and simple. "I... thought of just relaxing but I didn't want to give you more and more options." he was a little ashamed of his decisions, and it might have shown some bias on his train of thought. He jumped at the idea of going to sit with Demalia in his favorite restaurant, just talking and relaxing before taking a small stroll through the woods. This time, he just up and decided to talk to one of his colleagues about sparring or patrolling instead.
He would listen to the other saiyan for a bit longer, a smirk forming on his face. "Alright, what about this. We have a bit of a spar to train ourselves, and once we are satisfied, we can stop and have a chat." it sounded like a pretty good alternative to him, but that was implying that neither of them would be done with the conversation by the time their sparring was over with. It really depended on how much of their training was filled with actual talking rather than a focus on the spar at hand. His eyes would drift down towards her as she started to respond to his first inquiry, watching her smile in such a way made him worry a bit more but he didn't want to bother her. It wasn't his place to bother her about this stuff honestly, but something about being on a team made him feel that responsibility like with his old team, his old family. "Of course, I understand." he would smile down at her for another moment, trying to be honest with his own but failing a little bit as his eyes couldn't help but feel some sort of sympathy for whatever she was having to think of herself.
The Peacekeeper would look forward with his eyes closed a bit, listening to her words in a focused manner more than anything else for a moment, opening only to pay attention to anything she was trying to physically demonstrate as she did with her arm. "I can definitely agree with you there. There's something about a job like this that motivates you to stay in top shape more." he would roll his shoulders a bit, letting the heavy weighted training clothes on his torso move around. They used to hurt so much, and they still held him back a lot, but now they felt more natural than when he tried them out in the gravity chamber, though that did give him an idea. His eyes would open up fully as she said that she fiddled with things. "Fiddling with a few things? I'm not one for messing with things because I'm scared I'll break them. A Tuffle girl I'm with has gotten me hooked on hearing about her own fiddling though. So while I might not be able to relate, I can listen to it." he would give a soft shrug. It was funny how much he thought about Demalia even in his free time with others, but it was still nice to see that others had the inspiration to mess with stuff.
Next up, she brought up her favorite food, sweets? That sounded a bit like both Rose and Demalia who seemed to have sweet teeth, but he could probably connect everything to others with enough effort. It was time for him to talk about himself a bit now, though. He let her do MORE than enough talking. "On the same subjects I suppose. I am more or less a Peacekeeper who wants to help the universe be a better place, and get my kicks of fighting while doing so. I was inspired from very young to become a member of the Force, so it has always been second nature I guess." he would tap on his chin for a moment thinking about what he could consider next. "I have a room inside of the Headquarters, so you can easily find me there. Got a gravity chamber installed and everything, so if you ever find yourself wanting to train under high gravity, ask away, I can provide it. Though I will need a bit of notice to prepare it each time, so it should be more scheduled visits for it. Not that we can't go right now, just would take me a short while." he would nod firmly on that subject. He didn't mind sharing the gravity chamber with others if it meant that he got some training in himself! If he started off slow he wouldn't get too much from the lower settings, but just helping others with their training was nice enough.
Rutaba didn't have much to bring up involving the food, though. Rutaba was unable to find something that he wasn't a fan of just yet, he could probably switch to any eating style and be fine with it, even if some would be boring to stay exclusively on. His foot would halt himself a bit firmly as Mint stopped and turned towards him. "Hmmm... yes, follow me. I hope you can fly, I know it isn't for everyone though." as the Saiyan spoke, his feet lifted off of the ground as he hovered into the sky, and started to fly off towards a set of rocky formations that he would sometimes go to train freely at in the Outlands. He wouldn't go too fast or too slow, rather just trying to keep his pace to whatever Mint was going at.
Once they had finally arrived, he would touch down within a canyon of sorts in the rocks, tapping his feet on the ground. "We can go all out here, don't worry about hurting me or anything, we can just stop the moment things look dicey. Nobody would progress if we all held back, right?" he would stretch a bit further to try and pull out all of his muscles in preparation for the spar. "If this place is fine for you, you can take the first shot if you'd like. If the Gravity Chamber is just too enticing, we can go there as well." after all of his stretching was done, Rutaba dropped into a fighting stance that looked like what the Sadal Fighting Academy drilled into most peoples heads. It wasn't as perfect as the higher courses that people had to train into, but it was there nonetheless as his basic stance. "I suppose something else I should tell you about myself... is I like to fight with swords sometimes. I won't fight against you with it here, but just to know what to expect when fighting alongside me." a smirk would cross his lips again as he waited for the next move. He honestly didn't mind either outcome, the Gravity Chamber or this Rocky Place, they could train wherever they liked.
