In most cases, restaurants are usually used to accommodating large-bellied - or simply large - races, such as Saiyans or Humungaloids. You need to be, to not be eaten out of house and home; and such customers usually end up paying a lot as a result. Though even with the various races such places accommodate for, Ranon had a feeling nobody expected an Ankoku to be their biggest customer for today! The staff were a little antsy and uncertain around her, and her bulky (even if she was lean by Ankoku standards, she was still bulkier than the average person!), not-as-human shape made sitting awkward; even with the stalls being made for larger races!
Despite this though, the food was delicious; large slabs of meat, seasoned and cooked to perfection. She had gotten a big pay recently, and so she thought: what better way to celebrate than indulging herself a little bit? She didn't usually have much else to spend the zeni she makes from her usual line of work on anyways, beyond food and shelter; not so much out of a lack of there being anything to buy, but more out of her own disinterest. And so here she was, chowing down and ripping into the cooked meat like nobody's business. Though she technically could have transformed, to be less intimidating and to better fit in, she found it more comfortable and natural for her to eat like this - even if the staff and other customers were visibly unsettled by her presence.
Ranon herself was untroubled though, used to the reception she generally got from others in this form of hers. Sure, perhaps when she was having a low day such a reaction would be disheartening to see - but she had long-since grown a thick skin to adapt to it. She didn't need other peoples' approval to be happy, and if she really wanted to befriend someone, she usually had her shape-shifting anyways, to help her put on a good impression before she revealed herself to be a 9-foot lizard woman. Instead, she focused more on filling her belly with more and more meat; plate after plate, until before too long - with the speed she was chowing down at - she was sated. She would lean back in the stall, patting a full belly - though would decide to, on a whim, top off this great dinner with a dessert; a slice of some tart-looking pie to go, to eat on the ride to the next planet.
. . .
"Delicious, my compliments to the chef!" Ranon would chirp happily to the person sitting at the register as she paid the bill and accepted the bag - her slice of pie boxed inside. She was in a good mood now, having eaten her fill and gotten herself a treat to tide her over, even if the cashier wasn't quite as confident; stammering a soft "T-thank you, have a nice day..!" perhaps a bit too quickly and high, though Ranon would simply nod and smile before making her way out the front door. It was a beautiful and clear day, the twin suns of this particular system shining down, letting her idly partake in the warmth and energy of the light shining down as she made for her pod. As much as she was tempted to remain here though, it was about time to move on - jobs here were starting to run a little dry, and she was ready for a change of scenery anyways.
In the passing days, though, she had heard of a distant planet that interested her a bit- Earth... It was mostly rumors and speculation, of things that had happened on the planet before - though it was still curious enough to draw her attention, and hey; a planet's a planet. She would hop into her pod without any further adieu then, getting settled down and putting the pod on its course towards the aforementioned Earth. As it jetted off thru the air, and out of the atmosphere, she would get to work on taking out the slice of pie; grinning eagerly. Technically, she shouldn't be having this, as delicious as it was; Ankoku were made to eat meats and energy, not, well, everything that went into sweets like this - but she usually didn't get sick if she had it in small amounts. Not to mention that she absolutely loved anything tart or sour, which this certainly hit the spot on!
And so, as the pod jetted thru the stars and void of space, she would dig into her dessert; eager to see what this Earth had in store for her.
