It had seemed that Chris had gotten to the base of the tower before Gouken. It was no problem. He expected Gouken would be here shortly if not the least. As he looked upon the white stone of the tower and up even farther towards what looked to be a look out. His Saiyan tail freely exposed. If only he had known that the lookout had been recently invade by Saiyan he wouldn't face the trouble he had no idea was coming. His smirk growing as he jumped up onto the pole and began to climb with each arm grasping with ki infused hands to keep a grip on the pole. Thus he began the climb. The climb to the lookout. He honestly just hoped to beat Gouken in this race. He may have been a full blooded Saiyan but he still had fun with others teens like him. "I could have flown but that seems too easy. Atleast this way I can boost my strength up!" Chris would say with pure excitement for what might happen even as well with the though of a good training. Each grasp was coming closer and closer and before he knew it was getting close to half way from the top! He only needed to push furth a bit more and he could do this! Ha! Half way!
"This is it, we're finally climbing this baby!" Gouken clasped his fingers tightly into his palm. His eyebrows had been furrowed and intense emotions had begun to radiate off of his body. His darkly colored eyes peering high to the sky, hoping to locate the grand saucer in the heavens that housed Korin. Yes! Cheering himself on within his head, Gouken lowered himself and then raised. Prepping his body carefully. There was a lot riding on whether or not he could he could scale this grand pole. Gouken's gaze met the patterned tower once and remained fixated upon it. He wouldn't fail. This was practically child's play! Plus, he could fly! But, that was no fun. Nope, the old fashioned way was the path to tread this time around. Maybe some other time could he do something like that when it came to crossing Korin's Sanctuary.
Gouken's hands came to slap down against the patterned tower. Tightening his fingers against the raised print. His arms flexing greatly, pulling his weight up and feet planting down against the sides of the stone. Quickly and swiftly, his body immediately rocketed into the air. His style of climbing mirroring that of an excited ape scaling a tree. It took little time to reach the godly heights above. His nose raised and pointed to the heavens, eyes narrowed and hair whipping wildly behind head. The crimson red headband wrapped around his forehead whipping about the same. Whilst rising, a spark of Ki had been located. Christopher's! The race could start now!
He could feel the enormous amount of ki that was rising toward him along with the excited feeling within it. It had to be Gouken. It was too late now though! He was going to beat him to the top with a laugh as he spotted the bottom of the lookout. With one final push he used the forced he had to launch himself upwards off the tower. With a reached grasp he barely caught on to the edge of the tower. One hand holding onto the side of the lookout he grasped with his second as he looked down....Wow they were really really high up. "Ha Gouken! The headstart got me up here first! He would yell with a childish joy as he started pulling himself upward. Though his yelling might have caused whoever was in the lookout to notice the Saiyan child. Too late now.
As Chris turned to look at the area he could admit that he was impressed by the architecture, yet at the same time he could only wonder. Why did it look so...destroyed? " What could have done this?" Christopher would only question out loud as he looked at the damage of the lookout. He hadn't even known of the Saiyan attack that had taken place here and didn't know what would happen since he was a saiyan with a tail and everything. He had just wanted to see what kind of strong power lived up here. It was entirely possible that anyone up here might assume that he was a threat and would try to kick him off the tower.
"Talk about unfair!" Gouken called. His body mirroring that of an ape, but times fifty! For his doped speed was unrivaled and could have secured a win on the little race had they begun at the same time. Not to mention that he was lacking in weights. Thusly allowing him to easily obtain landing. His body spiraling into the lookout gracefully. Feet tapping against the ground and securing his body down. No use in bs'ing and taking his sweet sally time. That would have been totally lazy and create much much much more filler than necessary.
Looking from side to side, he took in his surroundings. A saucer like architecture. Serving as a hub for the eternal neko-seijin. Blinking, Gouken noticed something odd. It was..destroyed. To an extent. It wasn't decimates, obviously, but something went down in the vicinity. And the tower took a bit of splash damage. Admiring the area, the Saiyan licked his lips and began exploring. Looking from side to side, up and down. It was odd. The teen's brow was cocked in curiosity as it oft was when he was presented with something thought provoking or interesting and required solving. What could have done this? There were still things in tact, though. Obviously the tower itself and the saucer like structure.
[font size="2"]"Oh it's fine, it's not like we had a bet or anything going on. Though I still wonder....what happened here? Where is everyone?" Chris would ask out loud as he walked towards the big dome building. He just couldn't shake how eerily quiet it was. As he neared the big dome in the center he questioned just walking in. He wanted to find out what had happened here. His mind completely giving up on the fact of the water and more focused on the situation here. "It's looks like blast attacks though I can't imagine what had the power to do this much damage." Chris would say mainly Gouken and himself as he took a few step into the building. There was still this feeling of something wrong though. Why was it so quiet?
He didn't know why he couldn't shake the feeling but he knew that he needed to keep his guard up and motioned back towards Gouken to hopefully do the same. Something wasn't right with just how everything was. That was when he decided to do something that was possibly to pure foolish. "HELLO??? IS ANYONE HERE???" Chris would yell only for the hope of someone here having heard him. He was growing ever so worried of what had happened here and whether it was still here....
Son's feet had begun to take him further forward. Closing into the dead center of the Legendary Eternal Cat's domain. He kind of wondered where the supposed godly fur ball was. This was his house after all. Maybe he was out doing..cat stuff, he didn't know. Either way, it was most certainly barren and lacking of any life, save the dual Saiyans. Truth be told, it was kind eerie and almost sent chills down the boy's spine. That aside, he had listened to Christopher mention that it was struck by some monstrous force and the potential idea that this destructed appearance was done due blast attack.
"Maybe. Someone with serious fists could do this, but I have a good feeling that it wasn't. Yours is way more plausible," Son rubbed his chin lightly. "But, uh, whatever did this is gone. I cant feel jack. All I feel is...oh! Something is there. Crazy huge but it's definitely good. Pure as heck. But, um, there's a second one. Kinda novice in height and sorta crooked. I'll keep ya posted." Son lowered his hand and put them by his side. Dropping to his knees and resuming observance. Looking things over again.
"No use in yellin'. No way anyone's here, otherwise they woulda' felt and met us already. It's you an' me." He stated. "I know you probably already have, but let's forget about the water. You're smarter than I am, hehe, so you know what we gotta do. Explore and find out what happened here."
”I had to try and yell. Anyone could have been suppressing their ki. Do you think that we should try and fly to those pure ki energies? Or should we just turn back and try and come back when someone is here? I just want to get out of here so I’m fine with either choice. Something just doesn’t feel right about this place. Almost like someone died here.” Chris would say looking back toward Gouken with his questioning eyes. Gouken may claim that Chris was smart but he was still only fifteen and was almost new to this kind of world due to his sheltered life.
He still felt weak and felt at blame for this damage. Even if he hadn’t done anything to harm the Earth on purpose, he wished he could have been strong enough to have done something to help the one that had tried to defend this place. That was what boiled his blood. When there was someone he couldn’t help or that he couldn’t keep a promise to. His ki was coursing through him..overflowing. If only he could've done something to help.. It was like the Southern Island all over again. He couldn’t defeat the majin and he had to run with the guilt of not being able to save anyone. That was why he saw this as his fault.
“Gouken...I can’t understand why someone would do something like this.. It’s just not right. Why is it that I can’t be there to help anyone. I just don’t understand.” Chris would say once more as his spirit dampened more and more. He wanted to make the evil doers who had done this pay. Yet he wanted to give them a chance. A chance to repay themselves. His one moral that withstood all. Yet still this scene here only caused him pain, pain, and more pain. He left the decision for what they should do up to Son Gouken.
"Why? That's an easy one. This is life. There's always gonna be at least one bad guy. It's just how the world works. There's gotta be bad for there to be good. Ya know? If I was bad, then you'd be the good. And vice versa. It's dumb, but that's just how things work." Son answered. His eyes meeting Christopher's and attempting to at least try and instill some kind of reassurance into the kid. He didn't want to seem him so down in the dumps. He wasn't alone, though. Within his own heart, Son felt a little responsible. He could have came and aided. Saved the day and all that if he was strong enough. This wasn't the first time he failed to save something. He felt useless sometimes, too. But, he had to move forward. Otherwise, he's always be down. Christopher had to realize that, too. He can't dawdle on the past but instead take the future by the horns and toss it into his favor. Be it through conquering inner demons or through mastering his heart. To each, their own. That aside, there was a decision to be made.
"We can either stay here and be safe. Or, rise up and find whatever is waitin' on us." He said the choices aloud. "Okay. Here's what we're gonna do. You can go ahead of me. You're gonna be fine, so head on up and meet whoever you're gonna meet. 'Kay? I'll be behind ya later."
"Okay Gouken....I wil go but....this time I need to do my journey alone. The next time we do meet though I promise you that I will be stronger. Hopefully strong enough that we will be able to have an even spar but until than I want to see you train hard as well. Your my first friend and my best friend. I will make sure that if you ever need help that I will come to help. I may not be strong but even a little bit can tip an edge." Chris would say feeling a little better from his friend's motivation. Heck he felt better than ever but still that haunting trail of death followed his mind. Out was a pain but he would deal with it as Lon as was needed. He just hoped that one day...Gouken and himself would see each other again.
He left shortly after and flew on toward the top. Each step causing him a flashback of painful memories but yet thanks to Gouken he was more confident than ever. He was sure of one thing though that he realized from how he dealt with the situation in the tower. He wasn't ready just yet to reach the lookout. This with the quick suppression of his ki to a rather low point of that of a bug he dropped silently down and walked towards the forest. He would come back when he felt he was ready. He would meet Gouken once more one day, and he would accomplish his dream. Though he wasn't ever going to forget what Gouken had told him...and he was going to do whatever he could to make it false...to save anyone he could. He would have to thank Gouken of that one day but for now he had work to do...
