Timeline: Before the War.
The Saiyans.
A very destructive race, known for being very domineering and chaotic in their ways, they were hailed as one of the most dangerous species in the galaxy, and why wouldn't they went they had the ability to transform into a more powerful form, but no, not the fabled Great Ape form, but rather a transformation that had been believed to be mere hocus-pocus, something to tell the children of the galaxy in bed-time stories to put them to sleep, less they wanted this powerful warrior to come and slaughter them all for being naughty.
The Legendary Super Saiyan. Truly a name worthy of someone with the power to rival the Gods, but was it a real thing or merely a delusion of grandeur that the Saiyans of old feed to their young and thus corrupting the mind of their future generations to believe such a tale?
Cervez didn't really care one way or another, although it would be good to find this "Legendary Super Saiyan" and test his might against them. It has been such a long time since he has had a battle with someone that wouldn't crumble to the ground merely because he looked at them wrong, so he was actually looking forward to seeing if this legend was actually correct or not.
If it wasn't, well, he could still get his amusement by going around and sparring with the Saiyans, if they had anything going for them was the incredible ability to come back stronger after facing a near-death experience, and their tenacity meant that even if they faced a foe stronger than them they would never back down, their pride would never allow such a cowardly thing.
"Hmmm." He had been walking for a while now on this planet, and besides the odd power level rising and falling that he could feel in the distance, nothing noteworthy caught his attention so far. Though on his walk he had to evade and or kill the pesky animals that dared to think of him as easy prey, which besides being slightly annoying, not much to pay attention to.
"Might as well attract some 'bees' with some 'honey', as the saying goes," He concentrated internally for a few seconds, and once he got a hold of it, he brought this power to the surface gradually until it couldn't be ignored for those with the more curious persuasion flowing in their beings. He waited as he kept his power at that level, perhaps someone will come to investigate, and then the real fun will begin.

It had been a while since anything happened on Planet Natto as much as of a dynamic planet it was supposed to be with all of those Saiyans. However, nothing important had happened-- or at least for what mattered to Cornatto who had been keeping up his duties as a Major and all of that stuff. It was quite funny having a title after having been that long living in a forest of sorts. However, he didn’t mind or really give it too much importance. He was all right as long as he lived in a place such as the Alliance-- much better than Vegeta for sure.
The day for the Saiyan was pretty much like any other; a routine he couldn’t complain of! Too bad things weren’t exactly going to be the same-- but that he’d find out later, as of what Cornatto was doing-- he was apparently training by himself in one of the training halls. He needed to his battle power to increase; he had truly been doing a lot of that lately, but it was nowhere enough for him to do anything compared to some other warriors! True, he had also managed to get through the wall of a Saiyan’s rage and trigger the Super Saiyan transformation-- and how, was a story for another time, but still! There were so many people stronger than him, and aside from his constant desire to fight them all, he also wanted to be strong enough to be of some relevance for the planet!
What good was a Major if not strong sufficient to do his job? Probably nothing. Was he looking down at himself? Not really. He just felt like keeping to continue and hit his limits, and from what he had seen with Natto in the time he spent with him, there was sure a lot ahead of him if he wanted even to reach the fellow Saiyan's power. Surpassing him would have likely taken even longer! However, such wasn’t a reason to give up, was it? He wasn’t that lazy, after all.
But, he wasn’t exactly training at the moment-- more like taking a small break.
After waking up in the early morning, and training for hours, he deserved one! Not to mention, that it was a lunch break! No way he could miss that, considering how much he loved eating-- and most especially when it came to Earthling food, that was probably one of the reasons he’d have considered paying his homeworld a visit every now and then. It was probably one of the best in the entire galaxy, and by all means, the meals he had on Planet Natto were delicious as well! Just nothing could ever hope even to be a match for Earth's delicacies.
The Saiyan gulped all of his food down, letting out a sharp exhale as he patted his stomach. “Aaah! That was awesome… Man, I wish I didn’t eat it this fast right now!” - he said to himself, chuckling slightly before placing the empty bowl on the ground. It was almost a shame that he had consumed the food so quickly, but he couldn’t just help it at times. But, at least he didn’t waste much time eating when instead he’d be training. Even then it was a right moment to resume his training, even if he had assumed that he’d still wait a few minutes beforehand. He was just done eating, but his Saiyan metabolism could probably take it-- or whatever was supposed to make him digest the food.
The man was about to go back and train once more, despite he’d have likely waited a little bit more, but he didn’t care. However, something caught his attention-- or rather someone; it wasn’t that big of a presence at first, but its ki suddenly fired up almost as if they were in a fight or maybe it was some signal. In this case, it was the latter one, but it’s obvious that Cornatto had no ways of knowing such a thing-- but he was curious nonetheless!
He raised an eyebrow, his hands resting on his hips as his head shifted from a side to the other, focusing himself in the attempt to pinpoint an exact location to the person’s ki, which didn’t even take that long for him to manage. He didn’t even know if what he felt was the warrior’s full power, but it didn’t feel like he was bad-- not at all. Even if maybe the Saiyan had the upper hand in that case.
However, he’d find out soon enough.
The Saiyan took off to the skies and flew away-- towards the direction he had picked up the aura from, which wasn’t even that distant, but it wasn’t also near most settlements on the planet. As Cornatto got closer, the unknown being revealed himself to be a Zoanthrophe of some sorts. He saw a lot of those people back on Earth, but he had to say that most of the Zoans on Earth didn’t look like they’d fit the role of a fighter. However, this one had a rather remarkable physique compared to the small ones he had seen on Earth.
The man tilted his head slightly, somewhat concerned about the reasons that brought the creature to make himself-- or rather his aura, so noticeable. As much as he looked around, it seemed that there was pretty much no one else aside from the other two, nor did he look like he had just come out of a fight. Or did he make it on purpose? He was going to find out.
The man lowered himself to the ground; his boots set firmly on the ground as he rose a hand in greeting.
“Yo! I couldn’t help myself but take a look; I felt a strong ki, and kind of guessed that there’d be something going on around here… it doesn’t seem so, though. Err, who are you, by the way?”
What else could he do, but stand there and wait for someone, anyone at all really, to come and answer his call because of their curiosity? Floating a few feet off the ground with his legs crossed in an Indian position, the Entity of Destruction amused himself by tentatively falling into a meditative stance, his eyes closed and his breathing regulated and slow. In and out, in and out, he could feel himself falling deeper and deeper into a sense of nothingness, a sense of peace that almost seemed supernatural in its sensation but ultimately ephemeral in its entirety.
A premonitory chill traced its icy way down Cervez's spine. For a second he stood on broken asphalt, under a red sky, in the midst of a gray silence. The stillness lingered in the air, thick and heavy with its oppressive feeling clutching Cervez's heart, almost like a blanket but not, a choke-hold would be a better term to describe this feeling. Wherever he made a motion to move, that silence followed, always watching and never fading, like a quiet predator waiting for the time to strike.
The silence stretched thinner and thinner, like a balloon blown too big with air, until the temptation to rupture it was too great to resist, and Cervez could do nothing but break it, to escape this hell his subconscious brought him under. With a gasp, he was brought back to the material world, a headache pounding against the back of his skull with an annoying intensity that almost made him cross-eyed.
Growling under his breath, the Anubian gently touched the side of his face and with all his might he willed his temple to stop throbbing, succeeding moments later with a bit of trouble. "Good grief, what was that?" Now that he could think a bit more clear without a cloud of pain overtaking his senses, the Anubian tried to make sense of... whatever it was he just experienced.
"It seemed like ah... funny feeling? It was definitely foreboding... like a premonition of some kind..." A silent beat passed as he mulled over that statement for a few seconds, his gaze looking on in the horizon as he felt a presence slowly making its way towards him. "So they have answered my call, eh?" He wondered who could it be, and if they were strong, considering how this race has lived and fought for so many years, they were probably strong or even stronger than he was.
He thought about the latter for a bit, wondering if he should feel outraged, ashamed or sad about it, but couldn't really find an answer in the other myriads of thoughts his mind was under. Like what would he do after his fight, would he still bother this race of savage warriors, or would he aboard his ship and go once again straight towards Earth, his original target back when he awoke from his slumber? His other thoughts were on the line on what happened to the other Anubians, the Gods of Destructions, was he the only one awoken from his sleep or were there more of them going around in the galaxy?
So many questions, and not nearly any answers as far as he could tell, perhaps he should worry about this later, especially when his 'guest of honor' was now a dot in the distance and steadily growing bigger and bigger. The corner of his lip twitched into the ghost of a grin as his senses expanded outward, getting a reading upon this new warrior and couldn't help the bead of sweat that traveled down the side of his face.
'He's stronger than me by at least double! Well well, I'm not going to get bored at all on this planet if their battle prowess are on this level and beyond,' Chuckling under his breath, the Anubian straightened from his meditating posture, his feet once again touching the ground quietly as he observed the Saiyan before him once he finally came close for conversation to take place.
"Oh, believe me, nothing is happening," Suddenly his tone got cold and dangerous. "Yet, that is..." But like a switch, he went back to being jovial like nothing was wrong. "But to answer your question, the name's Cervez, and you are...?" It was polite, after all, to give your name first before asking someone's else, but no need to point fingers, especially when what he wanted was almost within his reach.
He was almost giddy with anticipation, the thought of finally letting loose and use his reservoir of hidden strength made him almost vibrate with excitement, but he refrained from showing it to the Saiyan before him, merely because it was unbecoming to appear like an excited puppy instead of what a proper Hakaishin should be: Cold, unfeeling and dispassionate. Or so he was lead to believe by the tales he had heard from the exploits of other Hakaishins before him.
Shaking his head from those thoughts, he leveled the Saiyan with a small grin. "Say, would it be too much of a bother if you could grant me a request? It shouldn't be too hard..." Slowly, his stance shifted as he fell into a battle stance, body low to the ground and hands at the ready by his sides; his feet were wide apart and planted firmly on the ground, his muscles coiled and tensed, ready to snap into action at any moment should the opportunity present itself.
"After all, your species thrive on this one particular thing, don't they?" The Anubian smirked slightly. "Battle with me, if you would be so kind. I want to get rid of the kinks across my body after sleeping for so long, and this little spar should do the trick." If the Saiyan didn't want to battle with him, then that was... well, it wasn't fine, but he wouldn't mind if he declined, much anyway.
Just like this Saiyan answered the call, another would surely do the same if he tried again, it was just a matter of doing it until he found someone that would not deny his request. All of this was a moot point, though, if the one before him honored his request.
The Saiyan eyed the strange being before him with an almost childish excitement, what could this one be doing in the middle of nowhere? It didn’t make much sense that someone would suddenly fire up his ki without any apparent reason unless what he was looking for someone to approach him-- but why? Was he looking for a fight? That wouldn’t be that much of a surprise on a planet whose lands were filled with warriors after all. He wouldn’t certainly be the first time that people would go around looking for a fight, then again; it would be better nice to make sure that Cervez wasn’t up to no good, else he’d likely have to do something about it.
It was also part of his duties as a soldier of the Alliance, after all; he couldn’t certainly let some stranger go around and do bad stuff on their planet; not to mention that he was also a major! As such, he was expected to do more than just any other soldier.
However, he didn’t exactly pick up on any menacing vibe from him-- however, from his tone, he could tell that he seemed like some cold person, which didn’t match Cornatto’s personality at all! He was a lot more carefree, and playful at times too. Especially with those he considered to be friends with, and also to everyone who never actually gave him a reason not to act friendly! But, he could be serious himself wherever a situation would require him to be, and while this one fellow didn’t look like one to have a nice chat with for the moment.
When he arrived, he found him in a meditative state, but it seemed that he was fully conscious of the Saiyan’s presence-- staring at him as the Anubian straightened his posture and stood before Cornatto. It appeared that he was right-- nothing was going to happen if he had to say, that ‘yet’ made him frown down a little. What did he mean? The tone he spoke with didn’t certainly reassure the Saiyan but made him more curious upon the reasons that brought the Anubian there in the first place.
“...'Yet that is?' What do you mean? Are you here to cause trouble?” - he asked, although Cornatto’s power was double his own, by all he knew, he could be suppressing it. Cornatto used that trick a lot too, plus it made everything easier whenever you’d be out doing something else other than training and fighting-- he didn’t want to destroy anything unwillingly after all.
However, his tone suddenly switched once more, which made the Saiyan somewhat curious. “Err… what’s the matter with this guy? Unless he intended to sound threatening…” - he thought to himself, lifting up his hand on the back of his neck as he scratched it in reflex. He met a few people that from acted one way and the moment later they were completely different, but he realized that it was just how some people reasoned. Or well, by all he knew, the Anubian could just be kidding, and in that case, the Earthling Saiyan would just be taking things up a notch.
“Uhh. Well, I am Cornatto!” - exclaimed the man, his features softening up a bit as he looked at the Anubian with a curious gaze, still rather unsure of whatever the man was doing the middle of nowhere. And the way he grinned at him, it only made him more curious to learn of his intentions. He didn’t look like a menace if one were to look at him from his current power level only, but he could potentially turn into one in case he had more than that up his sleeve-- and while Cornatto did himself, he’d rather not risk it.
“A request? Huh, well sure. Why not? What is it about?” - he inquired, folding his arms over his chest as he stared at him blankly as he watched him shifting his stance into one that suited a fight better.
“I’ll tell you straight away; if you’re looking for food, sorry but I’ve had lunch already.”
That’s what Cornatto assumed from what the Anubian stated earlier; about that thing, the Saiyans thrive for apparently. However, a few moments later the Anubian revealed what his intentions were; he was looking for a fight!-- Cornatto should have thought about that earlier, but he had to say that it was quite a convenient scenario. He almost felt stupid for the food comment, but it was the truth anyways!
Cornatto had planned his schedule to train for most of the afternoon and Cervez was looking for a fight, they could make this work so that both would get what they wanted. It was a rather beneficial situation for both of them, even if the Earthling Saiyan had his doubts whether Cervez could manage to keep up with Cornatto’s power that was superior to his own unless the Anubian had been suppressing his energy, but again, he couldn’t certainly know that. However, he was definitely in for a fight-- it seemed Cervez was aching for one and Cornatto especially, whose Saiyan blood craved for a fight anytime. There was a little gap between the two, but it could have been fun nonetheless.
“Haha, you’re right. I suppose you know a thing or two about us, even if I must say I’ve never met a guy like you on Earth before. I’m sure this is going to be fun!”
The Earthling Saiyan smirked, curling his fists together before cracking his knuckles; several loud pops were audible before Cornatto himself lowered into a fighting stance; his left fist half-clenched close to his face and the other completely clenched, his elbow bent at a 90° angle, and his knees bent just a little bit.
“I’m all in for a fight! Show me what you’ve got because I won’t hold back!”

How could he not when faced with such an innocent question like that? Was he here to cause trouble indeed, not too far from the truth as he was sure that should his previous plan not have worked, raising a bit of a fuzz in the wastelands should have attracted their attention without a shadow of a doubt. His demeanor had obviously worked to throw the Saiyan for a loop, and what a strange one he managed to attract now that he thought about it, as far as he heard or concerned himself to know; Saiyans weren't known for being patients, nor accommodating to even their own species, tending to look down on anyone and everything that wasn't of the glorious Saiyan race, so the fact that this Cornatto appeared friendly, of all things, was almost an oddity in and of itself.
Not that he was complaining, far from it, in fact, it wouldn't do to have a brigade of enraged apes nipping at his heels now, would it? This was better, in his opinion, though the fact that the Saiyan thought that he meant food instead of fighting was almost stupid. If he was honest, he could feel a bit of hunger licking at his psyche, but it wasn't too much that it would hinder him in any way, and if he really wanted to eat then he'd go out and hunt something for himself in the surrounding area, that's what he had been normally doing when the species that dominated the planet weren't really the hosting sort for alien lifeforms like him.
The tidbit of information about Cornatto being on Earth intrigued him, an eyeridge rising in clear show of curiosity, though he refrained from tilting his head to the side like a dog would. "The fact that you know about Earth and is still standing leads me to believe that you guys already conquered it, or failed and were driven back." It was an honest statement, considering how volatile and chaotic the Saiyans were, he was sure that a battle of some kind must have taken place on Earth when the Saiyans learned of its existence.
It made him wonder, though, what sort of 'guys' this Saiyan had met on Earth, considering he heard that there were animal people living on that planet as well. Perhaps he was referring to someone as strong as him, or with his mannerism or just his way of dressing? He'd never known unless he asked, but the Anubian didn't particularly felt the need to ask about such things.
Why would he, when a battle was about to take place?
Smirking, the Anubian watched as his opponent took a battle stance, excitement coursing under his purple-furred skin as he got ready to pounce. "I won't expect a Saiyan to have mercy on me," His feet tensed, digging furrows into the ground before he leaped, flying at speed towards the Saiyan and began to unleash a salvo of almost unending blows upon him to test the waters.
His strikes came in fast and hard, an elbow strike aimed right at the male's sternum while a powerful haymaker was sent to the man's shoulder, ending with a sweeping kick to drive the floor from under the Saiyan's feet.
He couldn’t exactly understand why but it seemed that the Anubian was amused at something; little he knew that it was because of his behavior that was indeed unknown to most Saiyans, even on Planet Natto! Cornatto had always been like that; never that kind of person to look down at anyone, really, it wasn’t in his style. Maybe such had to do with the fact that his parents had not raised him the way he should have; being left inside some incubator, but rather in the most traditional ways that suited most Earthlings-- even if somewhat harsher considering the ones looking after him were his parents; a couple of two full-blooded Saiyans.
They weren’t that bad, but were strict about things and possibly had Cornatto lose his patience multiple times during his childhood. But, he managed. Somehow.
On the other hand, he was pretty sure that they put most kids that were born on Planet Natto into some device they called incubator-- he didn’t exactly know why. I t had something to do with growing up in shape, but it wasn’t like the Earthling Saiyan was that weak-- he was stronger than other Saiyans around. However, he wasn’t the strongest! If he had to make an estimate, the stronger around on the planet was probably Natto. Off-world? He had no idea, even if he wouldn’t mind finding out and, maybe ask them on a spar.
He assumed that the strongest on Planet Vegeta was likely their queen, though. It made sense, more or less. Then again, he had never been there-- nor did he have any interest in meeting the queen in any formal way that wasn’t combat, he just didn’t want to get acquainted with such people despite his kind manners. He had mixed feelings about the Saiyan Empire. Maybe that was also one of the reasons that he had joined Natto in the first place; the offer of living with other Saiyans that weren’t anything like them was what had tempted Cornatto at first. But also to find out more about himself and how he felt about the situation as a whole.
It had been some time since the Saiyans had invaded the Earth, yet he could never forget how he had been of no use to even fight an Oozaru-- not even a Super Saiyan, but a damn Great Ape. Sure, the transformation granted the user a battle power ten times higher than the usual, but still, it was pretty maddening that he couldn’t do anything for his homeworld-- and the lonely life he lived in the forest didn’t help to change himself at all. That was what he needed; a man needed to make experiences, visit places and all. Was that what he needed? He couldn’t tell precisely, but that far he had fit in rather well in the Alliance and also managed to shape his battle skills. Of course, he was anything but done; he was planning to get even higher up than that!
But, while the Saiyan wasn’t that fond of the traditionalist Saiyans, he was pretty much friendly towards anyone. Such as with the Anubian, who still gave off some weird vibes to the Saiyan; he couldn’t exactly tell why, his request wasn’t malicious at all, after all, Cornatto had been longing for someone to fight himself-- training was all right, but sparring was even better! And he was sure expecting to have some fun with him.
Admittedly, Cervez caught the Earthling Saiyan’s attention the moment they mentioned the blue marble planet; Earth, the place where Cornatto was born! It seemed that the Anubian was aware of its existence too, but from what he told him, it didn’t sound like the creature used to reside there at all; else he’d know that no one’s done anything against Earth, especially the members of the Alliance. On the other hand, the Alliance was born following the Empire’s invasion in a settlement around the Southern Islands.
Cornatto blinked for a few moments, staring at Cervez blankly before he cracked a smile. “Haha, I think you’re mistaking us for the Saiyan Empire! They tried to invade the planet but didn’t make it. We’d never lay a finger on it-- actually, I was born on Earth. What about you? Do you come from there? Because there are a lot of people that look like you.”
It would have rather unusual for anyone of his species to be that powerful-- or well, it wasn’t completely impossible! He had met some powerful earthlings back then when he used to live there, but they weren’t anywhere around Cervez’s level! Especially the ones with the fur, they were usually ordinary people just like the rest. Or at least he never had the pleasure to fight a Zoanthrophe before.
The Earthling Saiyan’s smile turned into a grin as he watched the Anubian getting all fired up, it seemed that Cervez had been aching for a fight for quite a while for how excited he looked. He legitimately looked like your typical Saiyan warrior-- if it wasn’t for the fur, the ears and uh, everything else!
Cervez decided to go first as he rushed towards the Saiyan, whose expression immediately hardened, his gaze was set on the Anubian and the incoming rush of attacks. He launched his bent arm forward to block the punch in the sternum, using the other hand to intercept his other strike at the shoulder as he started off in a defensive stance. However, he didn’t see the Anubian’s sweeping kick that almost made him fall backward, if it wasn’t that the Saiyan used the situation to his advantage; using the Bukujutsu technique to keep him from falling, his body still learning backward as he floated in mid-air. And then, he'd try to use the chance that he was in mid-air to immediately try to go ahead and attempt to use the momentum gathered to flip in the air and send the tip of his boot to hit the Anubian’s chin.
Cornatto blocked Cervez's combo (11500 > 2500) and also tried to kick him in the chin. Melee PL: 11.500 Stamina 3/3

It weren't they the ones that attacked Earth by the look of it, but rather another group of Saiyans who didn't succeed in their quest for conquest, and judging by what Cornatto said just now, it seemed like the Saiyan Empire and whatever faction this planet and its inhabitants were part of were at odds with each other.
This just reminded him more and more that no matter where he looked or whatever planet he visited, destruction was sure to follow; perhaps not by a dying planet or a slowly dying race of warriors, but by the emotional breaking of bonds, so deeply forged by camaraderie and friendship in the battlefield, easily destroyed by the ties that binds them together. Was it a wonder than even a peaceful race could just as suddenly become crazy and emotionless killers with the right push? Now take the Saiyans, a race of warriors bred for combat and chaos, and you already got a recipe for disaster, a ticking time bomb that rapidly began to beep in alarm before exploding spectacularly.
Last he had heard, planet Vegeta was destroyed by the Planet Trade Organization, or perhaps it was thanks to the machinations of the Kold race, it has been so many years after he learned that information that the pieces were becoming a bit muddled and shifted, not letting him see the full picture before him. Though he did remember that the planet was brought back from space dust thanks to the Dragonballs from the Namekians, as those were the only ones that Cervez knew with the potential to work on such a miracle like restoring a planet from nothingness.
"I see now, I guess that explains some stuff," The Anubian hummed under his breath, wondering if he should humor the boy with the truth, since it wasn't like he could do anything with it if he came to learn that he was a God of Destruction, unless he suddenly decided to fall on his knees and praise his greatness.
Or some stupid bootlicker thing like that, he never was one for zealots, too noisy and annoying for his taste but he'd make do if they decided to become his vassal, you couldn't really tell them no when their mind was made on following a new master to the gates of hell and beyond.
"What's the difference between the Saiyan Empire and the ones living on this planet anyway?" He was curious about that actually, was this planet perhaps filled with hybrids or kind-hearted Saiyans? It would surprise him if that was the case, considering that fighting one's nature took time, care and patience to block their more natural and violent instincts.
"As for what I am," Here the Anubian smirked, almost haughtily. "How about you beat me and then I'll tell you, eh?" It was a nice offer, one that he won't make it any easier for the Saiyan no matter what, though the following events showed that the Saiyan wasn't a push-over as well, as he deftly countered his blows, staying on the defensive instead of retaliating, his mindset was probably set on tiring him out before striking some blows himself.
Too bad that he didn't see the sweep of the legs before it was too late. Though it seemed he had misjudged the Saiyan a bit too harshly, as he had chosen to float on the air instead of falling to the ground, showing that this warrior knew how to use his Ki to fly unlike some other races in the galaxy that couldn't.
Faster than he could dodge and with their close quarters, the Anubian grunted as he received a blow squarely on his chin, his jaws closing with a snap and almost making him bite his tongue off in the process. The force of the blow carried a great deal of momentum, drawing the Anubian back by a few steps as he gingerly cradled his bruised jaw, gently moving it side to side to see if anything was broken.
Besides a small trickle of blood because his sharp fangs nicked the inside of his jaw, nothing was really broken or too hurt to move, talking will be a bit of a bitch from here on out, though, which was annoying. "Right, that thorns it." Seeing that he'd need to close the gap between their power levels to make it more of a fair fight, the Anubian shifted his stance a bit, feet spread apart and his hands crossed before him, claws at the ready and facing his opponent. "Let's even out the playing field eh, Saiyan?"
With that ominous message, the Anubian began to draw forth the energy from the pool that resided deep within his psyche, his aura flaring with purple light as his power duplicated and then triplicated from what it was before, the ground shaking slightly as pebbles and trails of dust rose in the air before he stopped powering up, the clearing coming alive with sound of the rocks began to fall down to the ground with loud thumps while dust clouds hung briefly in the air.
He sighed under his breath, feeling the power coursing through his veins, almost making him a bit euphoric in its sensation, it was like a drug and it seemed like Cervez could never get enough of it each time he was allowed to use it without restraint. Shaking his head from those dangerous thoughts, the Anubian chanced a look at his opponent to see what he was doing before he began to do a quick warm-up.
"Right," Cervez rolled his shoulders and then his neck, the cracking sounds they made almost sickening to hear. "Let's do this." Taking a step forward, the Anubian suddenly disappeared from where he stood! It was clear that by powering up his body had also become more fast, as he phased back into existence besides Cornatto, floating off the ground and with his leg cocked back.
"Take this!" With that declaration, the Anubian aimed to deliver a crushing roundhouse kick to the man's chest, should it be evaded at the nick of time and he was still close for another run, Cervez will follow it up by using his other leg to sweep quickly and aim to deliver a kick to the man's head!

The Anubian probably thought that there’d have been no way for the Saiyan actually to counter his move, however as his body flipped through the air, the man aimed for the Anubian’s chin which he hit and managed to send him off the ground. Much to his surprise, but he guessed that there was still a rather remarkable gap between the two.
Cervez let out a grunt, something that told the Saiyan that he had managed a clean hit on the Anubian, which admittedly made him smile a bit. No way Cornatto would wish someone any pain, but a fight was still a fight, and as a Saiyan, it was only natural for his blood to boil in such occasions. The Anubian might not have felt the same way, though-- or well, mostly no one ever shared such emotions. Among Namekians to Humans, the Earthling Saiyan had met a handful of them, and some of them were indeed fighters but not at the same level of Saiyans; born with their natural instinct for battle.
Cornatto landed on the ground once more, folding his arms over his chest as he looked at the Anubian up and down who seemed to be checking out if he had been damaged by the Saiyan apparently. But that was very unlikely, even if he were barely half the Saiyan’s power, there’d be no way that Cornatto were to hurt him so quickly and most especially just after the spar had begun. Then again, he was going to find out soon.
“You guess that explains some stuff? Huh, what do you mean?”
The Saiyan was somewhat curious as to what Cervez meant-- did he know nothing of the Saiyan invasion? If so, then it was possible that he had been living under a rock until now, but the Saiyan was pretty sure anyone who came from Earth was aware of what had happened some years ago. Unless he wasn’t an Earthling that is, he could as well be an alien, but the man assumed that Cervez was one of those earthling zoanthrophes because he looked legitimately those creatures whom Cornatto had met on his time spent there.
There could as well be aliens looking alike, but then how would the Saiyan tell the difference between one and the other? It was all too complicated! But just like the Anubian had stated, he was apparently going to let the Earthling Saiyan learn of his identity only if he’d manage to best him in the spar-- which worked pretty well to the Saiyan. He couldn’t tell why he’d keep it all a mystery, so to say, but he didn’t mind. He was aching to get this spar going.
“What’s the difference between the Saiyan Empire and us?” - the man repeated, scratching the back of his neck in reflex.
Well, that was indeed a good question! Cornatto never really thought of actually making a whole list of points to himself, after all, he knew what to expect from the alliance, and it was what he got. He didn’t ever think of actually indexing every single difference between the two factions, and especially what would have come with joining Natto and the others.
“Hmm… well-- the Saiyan Alliance was created after the Saiyan invasion when a few Saiyans betrayed the Empire because of their nature. So, we stayed on Earth for a little while-- getting a few Saiyans in every now and then and tried to live peacefully, so they kicked us off the planet, and here we are now. Let us just say; we just don’t care about conquering and all that stuff the Empire does.”
It was true; he couldn’t think of anything else aside from the fact that both the Empire and the Alliance lived on planets with two different names; both were groups of Saiyans but with different natures-- one was vile and corrupted, and the other was-- decent? Most of them still acted like a Saiyans, but they weren’t necessarily evil-- or well, at least that’s what he hoped. But he knew he could trust his soldiers.
There was silence for a brief moment until the Anubian mentioned something about the playing field, he didn’t catch what he meant to say until Cervez’s stance shifted, and not only that but also his power began to increase at an impressing rate; he was right then. That was not the Anubian’s full power, that was reassuring to know-- he was aware that he was in for a game then, and he couldn’t help but feel more excited than concerned as the Anubian’s ki surpassed his own.
By the time Cervez had powered up, the Earthling Saiyan was staring at him in awe. However, he’d soon realize that he shouldn’t have let his guard down so easily in front of him as the Anubian caught the chance to disappear unexpectedly and suddenly came out of nowhere besides Cornatto to which he immediately delivered a roundhouse kick and one more to the head that sent him flying against a rock.
The man grunted, feeling a slight sense of pain which was also noticeable from his expression, but nothing too serious. There was a crater in the rock, and the impact had lifted up some debris as the Earthling Saiyan gathered himself and his thoughts and straightened his posture, taking a few steps forward as his expression turned into one of eagerness, clenching his fist tightly as he smashed it against the palm of his other hand.
“Haha, now this is interesting. I’m gettin’ excited!” - exclaimed the man as he lifted his arms up in the air before pulling them back down, with both his elbows slightly bent as he unleashed a fiery ghostly white aura around himself. “Here I come!” - he said, drawing his arm back as he would then rush towards the Anubian and aim for his face once more in the attempt to hit him with a haymaker and connect with a flurry of punches and kicks.
Cornatto took 7,500 damage. He attempted to hit Cervez with a haymaker and connect with a flurry. Melee PL: 11.500 Stamina 3/3
"You just answered your own question," Albeit belatedly by answering another one that Cervez had asked the passive-looking Saiyan Warrior. "But allow me to explain myself," Taking a few moments to gather his thoughts, one of the Anubian's hand left his backside and began to idly move about as he explained to the Saiyan what he had meant. "What I mean by that was that it is very much clear that the Saiyan Empire and the Saiyan Alliance could not be more apart from each other in terms of personality, it would be like trying to combine oil and water together; it is simply not possible."
He wasn't sure if the Saiyan would understand his comparison, he seemed a bit... scatterbrained, in the clouds, absentminded? He didn't know what to describe it but it was clear that this Saiyan wasn't really from the norm he came to expect, especially when so many bad things were associated when someone mentioned Saiyans in a conversation.
Savages, barbarians, the scourge this side of the galaxy, merciless warriors, and everything in between that you could think of. They were not out with their fair share of name calling, the Anubian had heard so many insults being thrown at the race of prideful warriors that he even had made a little game about how much he had heard a phrase more than once. So far stupid monkey comes to the forefront with two hundred and fifty-eight, while brainless ape clocked at exactly one hundred and five, and finally, dirty chimpanzee making it at around just sixty-nine.
There was one that he rarely gets to hear anymore, it doesn't even make it to the top five but it always gives him the chuckles when he does, if he remembered correctly it was a filthy macaque, just shy of the number ten.
Of course, it went without saying that these petty insults were thrown at their backs, well out of earshot and in hushed words made in whispering conversation in dark corners with a group of people, as they believed that safety was in numbers if they heard and decided to retaliate. 'It makes me wonder why they decide to poke and prod the giant hornet's nest, considering the Saiyans were known for planet conquering years and years ago, you'd think people would know by now not to gamble with their luck.'
Then again, he was here and now fighting against one of those planet conquerors of old, though Cornatto didn't look like a conqueror at all, if of course, a conqueror could look deceptively puppy-ish, so really, what did that say about him?
He watched almost with a sense of... disappointment as his attack seemed to have been too much for the Saiyan Warrior, a frown marring his face as his feet touched the ground without making a sound. 'Do not tell me this is enough to make you in?' He narrowed his eyes at the Saiyan, the corner of his lip twitching as he saw him slowly but surely get out from the impression in the rock he just made with his own body.
Well, if anything, he would have to at least gave it that much to the Saiyan, he was determined and stubborn if nothing else. "Hey hey! You okay back there? I would have been very disappointed if that had been enough to stop this fight," He said, dropping into a stance again as he waited for the man to catch his bearings. "I don't handle disappointment well," He said as ominously as he could, but he was aware that it held a lot of amusement to be considered threatening, so perhaps it sounded more condescending than anything?
At least the man was eager to continue the fight, a smirk graced Cervez's feature as a shroud of white energy enveloped the man's body before off he went, throwing a salvo of punches, kicks and everything at his disposal that Cervez was almost floored by it, even with his enhanced strength and speed taken into account.
Keyword, of course, being 'almost'.
After he had released ten percent of his true potential, he was now able to keep up slightly with the man's blows, as such he was able to dodge them fairly well considering they kept coming and coming, never stopping and giving the Anubian a chance to catch his breath, but it was something that he would rectify soon enough. Now that the Saiyan was close and personal, he rationalized that dodging what will come next would be a bit hard for the Saiyan, or so he believed considering how strange this technique could be for those that saw it for the very first time.
He was just waiting for the perfect time, a slight shift in the battle, in the man's stance, in how perhaps he was getting a bit slower after throwing so many damn punches and kicks in rapid successions, and that time was... now! Suddenly, the Anubian was in the man's face, his purple eyes glaring holes inside the man's own eyes, but that was merely a way to keep the man occupied, as what he had planned didn't involve the man's face at all.
No, as much as he'd like to return the favor when the Saiyan's foot crashed against his jaw, he had more painful things planned for the Saiyan Warrior. As it stood, his hand began to glow with stored power, the energy concentrated in the palm of his hand, which he quickly aimed to press against any part of the male's upper body that he could reach before he could think better about moving away or dodging.
Should his gamble succeed, however, the Saiyan would feel a peculiar sensation, as his white aura would be replaced with an acidic yellow one that would tingle unpleasantly across his skin, but the purpose of the technique wasn't to cause discomfort to one body's, rather its aim was more... explosive, shall we say.
Indeed, after a few seconds should the shroud had enveloped the man, he'd suddenly be in a world of pain as the acidic aura would ignite with a powerful explosion, shaking the ground with its intensity and raising a cloud of dust in a ten feet radius around the two of them, with Cornatto as the 'eye of the storm'.

Cervez's PL: 50,000 (150,000 because he released 10%(x3) of his true power!) Stamina: 2/3
Actions: Successfully dodged the flurry of combos. (Dodging PL: 30,000 > Cornatto's Melee: 11,500), and also used a technique to blow him up sky high.
Technique used:
+[OT1] Palm Energy Infusion Explosion -- Cervez places his palm on the opponent, infusing yellow Ki into them through his palm by having it cover their body as an aura, then he releases and the Ki explodes, injuring his foe.
Cornatto was somewhat impressed from Cervez’s ki signature. By no means, he had not expected Cervez to be powerful at all, but there could be no way for him to tell considering he had been using not even half of the power he had unleashed a moment earlier. But he had to say, that he was pretty much content with it; the stronger the opponent, the better! It just gave Cornatto a thrill through all his body, and how couldn’t he? Fighting a more powerful enemy was always exciting no matter what-- it was an entirely different feeling from having to face a weaker one.
“And well, maybe you’re right. The Saiyans from the Alliance don’t have a different mindset-- we’re still warriors! However, by someone who’s been living here for quite a while, it’s very much distinct from the Saiyan Empire which is led by that corrupted queen. But really, it’s somewhat complicated. Maybe you’d try staying around for a few days and see for yourself how we are here!” - exclaimed the man.
He didn’t exactly remember if there were any particular rules for people who weren’t Saiyans, but he doubted that it’d be an issue for someone to stay-- even only for a few days, on planet Natto. That was unless they were part of a faction such as the Saiyan Empire, of course, they’d likely get kicked off the planet or worse. And while he thought that sending them far away from the planet was enough, he wouldn’t be surprised if people were to take things a step further against an imperial Saiyan.
It was evident that the Earthling Saiyan wasn’t fond of the Empire himself-- but he was pretty sure that mostly anyone who was part of the Alliance disliked the other faction as well. It was somewhat natural and nothing to be surprised about, even if he didn’t know whether they hated the Empire just to fit in the role or because each one of them had their experiences with the Empire-- it was the latter one in most cases, including the Earthling Saiyan’s. Honestly, Cornatto wouldn’t have been surprised if they were to fight the Empire anytime soon-- which wouldn’t certainly be as ‘entertaining’ as this fight in particular, of course. Because a conflict between two empires was more than just a spar to enjoy, however, he sure expected the Empire to have a lot of strong warriors within their ranks. Else they wouldn’t have been able to attempt their invasion on Earth in the first place.
Despite all the power that the Earthling Saiyan bestowed, he was in no ways a conqueror or really anyone you’d have to be afraid of-- but at best to be aware of what he would be capable of doing if you were to piss off. But Cornatto wasn’t one to go around and beat someone down just for the sake of doing it; on the other hand, he thought that anyone who did that sort of stuff was just an asshole. It was weird, wasn’t it? One would likely realize why Cervez was so concerned as for how much different the man’s nature was different compared to the Saiyans he knew-- it seemed almost impossible for a such a fight-loving but also kind Saiyan even to be alive. But the Earthling Saiyan himself had met others like him; Natto himself was a pretty cool guy! And also pretty strong, but he had to say, that this Cervez guy wasn’t that bad himself.
As he launched himself at the Anubian with his fist aiming for the creature’s face, he had legit not expected that Cervez would have been capable of dodging that. But he did, and not only that, but he also seemed to be evading his strikes pretty easily considering how little effort the Anubian put into it, it was for sure; releasing that ten more percent of his power had undoubtedly changed the entire picture. Not only did his ki surpass Cornatto’s own, but his newfound speed was enough for the creature to read his movements. However, the Earthling Saiyan wasn’t obviously going to let it go! He continued throwing his fists at the creature, but he dodged nonetheless and-- unfortunately for the Saiyan, the Anubian made his move shortly after.
Or so he tried at least.
As soon as the hand got closer to the Saiyan’s upper body, the man felt a sensation; almost as if someone was pulling him away from the attack, but it wasn’t obviously the case. It was his sense that picked up on the energy that Cervez had focused on the move that made Cornatto’s instinct snap as the Earthling Saiyan suddenly disappeared from the Anubian’s sight and reappeared behind him.
He had to say that despite the Saiyan had managed to dodge his technique, or whatever it was supposed to be at least; he had made it only by a few inches before the Anubian could have touched him with his palm.
“Hehe, that one was close! I must say I was not expecting you to turn the tables so quickly, it’s amazing.” - he said, letting out a faint chuckle.
Every single pure-blooded Saiyan enjoyed a fight better whenever it’d be against a more powerful enemy. There wasn’t even an actual explanation behind this; it was just how it was meant to be; the chance of fighting a stronger opponent had always managed to catch Cornatto’s interest, and in most cases, to offer him a memorable match.
In this case, he had to say that Cervez had caught his attention. He didn’t know what the Anubian was thinking, but Cornatto was surely going to enjoy it to the fullest! He wasn’t obviously going to pull out his trump card; the Super Saiyan transformation, just yet. He preferred seeing if he could gather any information on the creature’s battle style first and foremost, not to mention that Cornatto had always been like that; he didn’t like using all of his power from the beginning.
However, he was sure going to try and give Cervez a challenge! As he reappeared behind the Anubian, he would then gather his hands together in a battle axe handle and try to strike Cervez down to the ground.
Cornatto dodged Cervez's technique with [ST-1] Rapid Movement (115.000 VS 37.500) and then tried to strike him from behind.
The statement had merit, if he stayed here he would be able to watch and witness how this race of Saiyan Warriors was different from the norm that he came to be familiar with, it was clear that they were still warriors at the core, that will probably never go away unless their blood became hybridized so many times with the other races in the universe. It was something he had seen countless times in his long life when one race had the potential to breed with another that wasn't their own, the results tended to be... very different from normal.
It could potentially heavily enhance their bodies to what isn't natural, to the point that you'd think they were what their races' pinnacle of power should have become, but often times the two races in one entity tended to backfire greatly and create something unnatural and very weak in comparison to the two races that made them. It also made him wonder, what would be the result of an Anubian breeding with a compatible race in the Galaxy? Would it create something that was meant to be better than the two, or would it be heavily weaker than them?
It was worth noting, however, that Anubians couldn't breed with other races, as they could only do so with other Anubians of compatible gender. Now that didn't stop the same-sex relationship, but any sort of commitment was normally not advised in the case that they were called to take the mantle of Gods of Destruction, as that usually meant they were sent to take care of their own universe.
They could, of course, visit the other Universes, though that was rare as they needed the help of their assistant to do such a thing, those with the power to stand below the King of All's jurisdiction and help their assigned Hakaishin in their jobs, or just make sure they were taken care of and not rampaging around like chickens with their heads cut off. Thinking about the assistants to the Hakaishins made him think about his own. He couldn't really remember much about them, even their gender was lost to him, all he knew was that they had served him well, even through his temper tantrums when he let the best of his emotions get the best of him, they still stood by his side.
Where were they now, he wondered. Perhaps they had passed on, or were assigned to another God of Destruction? The latter made something acidic pool in his stomach, slowly spreading across his chest until it entered his heart. The feeling almost made him stagger in surprise, and he had to blink multiple times to get his bearings in order as he tried to decipher what in the world just happened.
The answer came seconds later after he gave a word to that feeling: Jealousy. He was jealous that his assistant might have been pawned off to another God of Destruction, and that perhaps they had forgotten about him when he fell into a deep slumber, not coming back to him at once when he awoke in a distant planet all alone and slightly disorientated.
But that didn't matter for now, with his battle against the Saiyan Cornatto heating up quite considerably, not paying attention to what was happening would just be disastrous, and very very stupid on his part. Which is exactly how the Anubian, so concerned with his previous thoughts, didn't take notice of the fact there should have been a very noticeable boom going on right in front of his face, when instead there was only silence and something that sounded similar to the air parted too fast because something moved at an alarming speed.
"W-what?!" How did the Saiyan bypass his guard so quickly? He was there one moment and now behind him the next, even with his fighting potential released at ten percent he still could not see what the Saiyan did to evade his attack, perhaps he had just used an Afterimage? It was a very basic technique that almost all beings in the galaxy could replicate with enough training and speed in their step. It was clear that the Saiyan still had some tricks up his sleeves, that was gonna be annoying as the fight progressed, but he couldn't help but admit that he was also starting to get excited.
Having been sleeping for so long, fighting someone that was about his equal in power was... invigorating.
What wasn't invigorating, however, was the powerful blow that struck the back of his head with great strength behind it, driving the Anubian to the ground, the earth cracking and splitting apart slightly and leaving behind a Cervez-shaped indentation in it. 'Right, that's it, no more Mister Nice Guy...' Cervez lifted his head from the ground, his face hurt a little but what was most annoying was a headache that was pounding at the back of his mind, oh yes, no more Mister Nice Guy indeed.
Quickly, the Zoan turned around, back to the ground and his hand extended forward as he aimed his palm at the Saiyan Warrior, his free hand gripping his forearm as energy began to charge up his arm, concentrating on his hand before it pooled in his palm, arcs of bio-electricity crackled against his arm and up his wrist as the energy quickly reached a crescendo. "Be gone!" With that declaration, the energy was released in a powerful shockwave of pressurized air that exploded from his palm and outward, aiming to slam against the Saiyan with tremendous force to send him flying away into the distance.
Not caring much if it worked or not, though he sincerely hoped it DID work, the Anubian gingerly began to get back up, panting slightly as he tried to regain his breath back after pooling that much energy into that attack so quickly without restraint. "I need to watch it, otherwise in this state, I'm easy picking for any attack he sends my way." That scenario was highly likely to happen if the man dodged or had enough energy to tank the attack and retaliate with extreme prejudice, he only hoped he could withstand the incoming onslaught and regain some of his energy back before that happened.

Cervez's PL: 50,000 (150,000 because he released 10%(x3) of his true power!) Stamina: 3/3
Actions: Took melee damage and retaliated with a shockwave of compressed air (basic Ki attack sorta) to send the Saiyan flying.
The man was pretty sure that no one would have minded if an Anubian were to stay in the whereabouts, he was pretty powerful too! He was sure that if Cervez were to look around the Capital, he’d quickly find more than a few Saiyans asking for a spar. Assuming that was one of his interests, considering that was how their encounter went that day; little he knew that the Zoan was looking for one of the legendary golden warriors, the Super Saiyan.
Such fighters were known for their incredible strength, speed, and power that was multiplied times beyond the power that an Oozaru could offer to a Saiyan. It was true, even if it such transformation came with a price; in most cases one that would have an enormous impact on the Saiyan’s life and in most cases a tragic one. It was at that point that a Saiyan’s potential would awaken and unleash upon one's enemies, but at the cost of one’s mind; Cornatto himself felt the same anger he did the moment he unlocked the transformation whenever he happened to turn into a Super Saiyan. It wasn’t as extreme as the first time he transformed, but it was still there, and it was also difficult for him to transform back at first.
But he managed that quite quickly when he realized that the trick was the Saiyan’s state of mind; it was simply a matter of remembering how it felt all along. The form was incredibly powerful, but while some thought that the golden warrior was the strongest in the universe, Cornatto could easily prove that they were wrong; there were lots of incredible people out there in the galaxy! On Earth, he had met some people who could approach the power of a Super Saiyan, even a Human! It was a little bit strange, though. How come the Super Saiyan was even a legend in the first place when there were other people just as strong out there? It didn’t make much sense to him unless the people didn’t have the means to be aware of the existence of such people out there back then. Then again, Cornatto was sure that anyone as great as the Anubian was, would have been an appreciated presence on Natto. No Saiyan would ever back down from a good fight; else they couldn’t even be considered warriors in the first place.
But, he didn’t know if the Anubian would have accepted the offer of the Saiyan to stay on Natto for a few days; he didn’t have to, but if the creature was curious to see how the Alliance was. Staying around would have likely been the most efficient option for him unless he’d simply take Cornatto’s word for it-- which was trustworthy enough considering Cornatto didn’t look like the kind of person who would lie without reason. He wasn't a moralist who thought that lies were necessarily wrong-- at times telling one could be for the greater good, but he didn’t particularly like speaking the false considering it could create more trouble than good. Not to mention that ever since he was a child his slightly naive nature made it hard for him to lie in the first place, even if he had somewhat matured as the years passed.
But, he wouldn’t certainly blame the Anubian for not trusting him; people didn't appreciate the presence of the Saiyans on their planets, in most cases at least. And honestly, the Earthling Saiyan had despised them for a short time in his life too. To him, the Empire’s actions never made sense, not to mention that they had exiled his parents; but, in the end, it had been a blessing. After all, things might have gone entirely different if he had not grown up on Earth-- and he was thankful for being who he was and not like one of those cold warriors.
He didn’t know what people like Natto went through on Vegeta, but honestly? He didn’t even want to know. Maybe it wasn’t even that bad for the people who did their duty, but Cornatto would have certainly never gone on a mission to exterminate a planet’s entire population or something like that. He’d rather take on the Queen herself instead of agreeing to such a cowardly mission. For a good part of his life, he continued to dislike the warrior race despite recognizing himself as such, however meeting several people made him get rid of such distaste as he realized that not every Saiyan was like the others; Natto was the proof. Despite everything that had happened during the invasion of Earth, even if he had the chance to cause a disaster possibly, he decided against it. The Overseer of the Alliance himself who was so kind and lenient towards his race that had used him that he couldn’t even afford to kill one of them. Cornatto didn’t initially agree with forgiving so quickly someone just for being part of the same species; he had come to realize that everyone deserved a second chance; the Saiyan Empire did too.
He had to say, that the whole reason the invasion even began was because of something entirely different than what the Queen had said, or at least that’s what he remembered from what Natto had told him. Not only the Queen ‘s reasons were evil in the first place, but apparently, she even tried to justify herself with some ridiculous lie that had to do with Tuffles and all of that stuff. Not only Natto used to be probably the Empire’s strongest warrior, but they also used the love he felt for his race to execute their plans; the Earthling Saiyan himself felt a little bit angry when he heard that, it was the most wicked thing he had ever heard of in his life. No wonder Natto had turned on his Empire; he was pretty sure that everyone would have if they were in his place.
Needless to say that many earthlings had paid for such cheap trick of that damn queen, and Cornatto himself knew quite a bunch who had been ‘traumatized’ so to say by the invasion. Among these people, there was also one of his first friends who was a hybridization between the blood of the warrior race and the one of an earthling. The boy lost his home in the South Capitol because of the blow the soldiers delivered to its infrastructure. Since the two met, it had been easy for the Earthling Saiyan to realize that the events of that day had scarred the hybrid and that while his goal wasn’t to take revenge, he still hated the Saiyans to the core.
It was a feeling that Cornatto couldn’t fully understand considering he had always been living somewhere in the forest, but he still had some interactions with some of the villages nearby. There he also met his one and only Namekian friend; Scarko, a supposed member of the Warrior Caste, or so he always thought considering the green man had always been someone fit for fighting rather than doing their weird magic stuff. By what he had told the Earthling Saiyan, the elders put him inside a spacepod that brought him to Earth, for reasons the Namekian himself ignored.
After that, the Namekian turned into an Earthling-- maybe even more than Cornatto himself, but this came with the price; the loss of his village and the inhabitants he had gotten so well acquainted with, and it hurt him, a lot. In such circumstances, no one could blame them for hating the rotten Empire; the Earthling Saiyan likely would have as well, in his position he could already imagine what his friends felt back then, but he couldn’t to the fullest. The invasion had not struck the fighter as much as it did with some of his earthling friends. But he still felt it, and not only that, but he was never going to forgive them for what they did on Earth.
Even if Cornatto didn’t exactly take part in any of those events; precisely both the Saiyan invasion on Earth and the Saiyan-Kold War-- or rather, he didn’t even know about the latter one until he met Natto. As a Saiyan who lived on Earth, it was pretty difficult to keep up with most of the stuff that happened in the galaxy; there was obviously no way the Earthlings would even know what the Kold Empire was. Needless to say, that they wouldn’t likely care about what would happen to it in the first place. However, Cornatto knew he could take the fellow Saiyan’s word for it.
How could he not? He was probably one of the most reliable Saiyans he knew, after all, he was the one who founded the Alliance in the first place. Speaking of whom, if the Anubian would have liked, maybe he could arrange for him and Natto to meet if he had questions about the Alliance as a whole. Not to mention that he was also his master since he had been helping him out with improving his battle skills through the teachings of the Soy Arts. Cornatto was grateful for that. However, he didn’t exactly know what else he could tell the Anubian about the Alliance. Cornatto had already told him all he could ever have.
Then again, it would have been up to the Zoan whether believing the Saiyan would have been appropriate or not. It’s not like he had anything to lose, even if Cornatto was still rather curious as to why he had not heard of the Saiyan Alliance before. He could understand if he came from Earth, but it didn’t seem so considering he didn’t even know of the Saiyan invasion. And if he did originate from the blue marble, then that’d mean that he had been living under a rock for the past six or more years. Just where did he come from? He didn’t have to be an earthling just because he was a zoanthrophe, or at least that’s what Corantto thought he was. Space was vast, and animal-looking people weren’t something exclusive to Earth. But, it was a mystery that no one else other than Cervez could unveil, and the only way that Cornatto would have managed to make him talk was apparently beating him into a spar.
“I wonder if this is all of his power! He has already powered up earlier, that’s true, but he might still be hiding more. If he does, I might have to go all out myself and turn into a Super Saiyan.” - he thought to himself, cracking a grin in excitement. He could just pull out the Super Saiyan transformation anytime, but he wanted to see how far the Anubian would have taken the fight; and if he hid more power other than the one he had shown the Earthling Saiyan that far. Not to mention that he was looking forward to having more fun before releasing all of his power.
It’d have certainly been rather refreshing for the Earthling Saiyan to fight someone stronger than himself! Honestly, training by himself had become a little stale, so this was a perfect opportunity for the Saiyan not only to shape his fighting skills against a real opponent but also to see how much he had improved that far. Pointless to say that fighting a person as tough as Cervez was also somewhat exciting. It was a pretty common feeling for all pure-blooded Saiyans, something that probably no one could ever understand if not fellow Saiyans; the more intense the battle, the better!
Cornatto had successfully managed to escape from Cervez’s technique, and now that his figure had disappeared from his sight, it could only be an advantage for him-- either that or Cervez could even manage to block him. He wouldn’t be surprised if he did. Honestly, Cervez’s battle senses seemed to be well shaped, and there was quite a good chance that coming at him from behind was probably quite obvious.
No matter what, though, he was still going to give it a try. The moment Cornatto reappeared behind him, he immediately lifted up his muscular arms and gathered his fists together as he enclosed them tightly with each other before driving them down to the Anubian’s head.
It was evident that Cervez was shocked in the first place that Cornatto had even managed to dodge his technique, he probably didn’t expect it. And so, this gave Cornatto a chance to go for a clean hit to the Anubian’s head as he sent him flying to the ground. The Saiyan was somewhat surprised; he had expected the Anubian to block his hit, or even to pull off a counterattack but it seemed that he had managed to break through his guard.
That was exactly why the afterimage technique was so useful; one could just dodge and then come right back at their opponent. In this case, it worked marvelously, but if one were quick and attentive one, a person would likely be able to see through the afterimage. After all, no technique was perfect, and while this one helped a lot when it came to dodging a powerful move and offer one the chance to hit their opponent, no technique was impossible to counter, and this was no exception.
Cornatto stared at Cervez intently, who was totally feeling the hit that the Earthling Saiyan had managed to deliver to the godly creature, and he couldn’t certainly blame him; after all not only he hit him from behind but also struck him down to the ground.
The Earthling Saiyan couldn’t do much other than smile a little bit, despite the fact that he had hit him pretty hard, Cervez had managed to recover himself in a very short time. The Zoan was someone worth fighting, even if to be honest, his behavior was somewhat weird. He couldn’t exactly describe it well; at times he looked happy, other times excited and sometimes even menacing.
He didn’t know if that was some complex of his or he did that on purpose, but as long as he could keep up a good fight, the Earthling Saiyan wasn’t certainly going to complain. But, while Cornatto was having a lot of fun, it seemed that his move didn’t exactly please the Anubian, who wasn’t going to let Cornatto get away with what he had done.
The Earthling Saiyan lowered himself into a defensive stance as the Zoan aimed a hand towards Cornatto; he was expecting the Anubian to shoot some massive ki wave or something like that suddenly. Cervez was indeed building up his ki, but there was something strange about it like he didn't mean to fire 'physically' at the Earthling Saiyan. No, in reality, his goal was to send Cornatto flying away apparently.
The man’s eyes widened in surprise as he suddenly took note of the shockwave and if the godly being was the one who was taken by surprise earlier, now was Cornatto’s turn who had not thought of Cervez firing such a move at him.
Before the shockwave could hit him, the Earthling Saiyan moved to the side, swiftly dodging the Zoan’s shockwave.
“Phew… that was close, hehe.” - he thought to himself, cracking a small grin as he glanced over his shoulder. He didn’t know how far it’d go, but he guessed that it was probably going to hit a mountain or something like that. Thankfully they weren’t anywhere close to a city, else that could have been a little more complicated, even if he had more than a few doubts that such a technique bestowed enough power even to do any damage to the Capital's buildings. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have taken long for the Saiyans residing there to cause a disaster if a move like that would have been enough even to snatch the metal that they used to make those buildings, which would have been a serious problem.
The Earthling Saiyan regained his composure, turning around to take a look at the Anubian who was now standing on the ground once more; however, they seemed to be getting tired, already. It made Cornatto question they would have had to cut the spar short, but it didn’t look like the Anubian was excessively tired. He had likely overdone it with both the technique he had attempted on the Saiyan earlier and the shockwave made out of energy; which honestly, Cornatto considered being a fascinating ability.
He wasn’t exactly new to redirecting ki to harm an opponent through martial arts, it was a typical technique for martial artists which was also known as Kiai, or at least that’s what he thought that Cervez had used; if it wasn’t, well they were pretty similar. Anyway, he never had the chance to spar with anyone who used such handy technique, though. Although Cornatto himself didn’t use it that often; he preferred to hit his opponent with his fists most of the time, or if they weren’t in close range, fire a ki wave.
Cornatto had purposefully given him a moment or two to breathe, then since Cervez didn’t seem like he was going to attack the Saiyan, he thought of going for the next strike. It was still a spar, and he didn’t want to go all out on the Anubian just yet, they had just begun after all. And he wanted to have some more fun for quite a while before calling it a day, and he hoped that the Anubian shared the same thought.
“What’s wrong?!” - exclaimed the man, his features hardening a little as his ghostly-white aura flared around him once more, closing his fist tightly before he rushed off towards the Anubian, drawing back his arm. But then, instead of going straight to Cervez, he’d fly around him and try to kick him in the back from behind and then connect by grabbing his head and drive him into the ground once more.

They could cause all sort of havoc in the galaxy, he was surprised that by their very nature they haven't met their end yet, considering how violent and aggressive they could be, not to mention with their ability to turn into a rampaging great ape when the moon was full, one could argue that they could have all wiped each other out hundred of years ago. Yet; they were still alive and thriving, but not at all in harmony with each other, as this Saiyan Alliance, supposedly a race of peaceful Saiyan Warriors was at odds with the Saiyan Empire, the latter of which the perfect example of what you should expect for a Saiyan.
And yet...
This Saiyan, Cornatto, was breaking every expectation he had ever heard and experienced about the Saiyan race that it was making his head spin, and not because he was tired and catching his breath back. How could someone so friendly and excitable as him have the ruthless Saiyan blood flowing through his veins? It didn't make any sense, none of this made any sense to the two centuries old Anubian, and that made him feel backed into a corner.
Gritting his teeth, the Anubian had expected that his attack would have managed to hurt the Saiyan somewhat, or at least ruffle his strangely shaped palm-tree style mop of hair, but nothing happened as the Saiyan almost absently moved aside and let the shockwave of air pass him by without breaking character.
'H-how is he so strong? Is he... perhaps...' Without meaning to, the Anubian took a step back, his expression almost turning fearful as he stared at the Saiyan before him, '"Y-Yatsu wa... D-densetsu no Supa Saiyajin nano ka?!" ('Could he be... The Legendary Super Saiyan?!') It couldn't be, that was just a tale told by the many races in the galaxy to make their children behave, an old scary tale to tell in the dark between friends to scare them shitless.
'Beware, beware, don't do naughty things, for the Legendary Super Saiyajin will come and slaughter us all.'
His fists clenched by his side, his sharp claws puncturing the skin of his palm and drawing blood, the life fluid slipping between his digits and dropping slowly to the ground, forming a small puddle of blood that was quickly absorbed by the ground. Looking down, the Anubian wondered if the ground that the Saiyans lived on could thrive on blood instead of water, as the bloodshed they could deliver was able to stain the ground with a crimson tone for years to come, or so the rumors of old said when the Saiyans were out and about conquering and destroying planets for a madman.
It was funny, how could a race with so much pride in themselves bend their knee to an overlord, but he guessed that was the way of life, the weak bowing to the strong so they could survive and live another day in their pathetic lives as glorified battle slaves. The thought almost made him crack a chuckle, but the seriousness of the situation made any sort of mirth die a quick death before it could surface.
Standing up from his prone position, the Anubian glared at the Saiyan, the two entering a bit of a stalemate as they sized each other out for a bit. Judging by the Saiyan's stance, he seemed to be quite content to just wait for the Anubian to recover his breath before he decided to go back into the offensive or defensive, this act of off-hand condescension made Cervez grit his teeth in annoyance. The act felt like Cornatto was feeling pity for the Anubian, and while normally it wouldn't have bothered as much as it did, today was different as he was in no mood for such things like that.
He watched impassively as the Saiyan flew at him, his arm cocking back like he was planning on attacking him, but then the man would change his course and fly around him, attempting to hit him in the back of the head and drive him to the ground once again.
Keyword: Attempt.
With almost the same ease as before, Cervez dodged that kick by using the same method that the Saiyan had done before, which was stepping to the side, and quickly jumped back to create a bit of a distance between the two of them, thereby disrupting any future combo that the Saiyan Warrior would have attempted as a follow up with that kick of his.
The Anubian eyed the man, his purple eyes boring into the man's black ones. "That won't work with me again," He said, and almost languidly, the Anubian's right hand extended forward, his index finger pointed at the man's chest. Silently, the Anubian suddenly fired a powerful thin purple beam from his fingertip, aimed to hit Cornatto and cause a tremendous amount of pain!
Not caring whether the attack had hit or not, the Anubian stood contemplatively for a few seconds before he spoke again, "You say that you and the other group of Saiyans are different, yet you both exhibit a healthy amount of the same drive that impulses you to fight," Tilting his head to the side, the Anubian looked skyward for a few seconds before looking back at the Saiyan, "Tell me, Saiyan, answer me this little question," He was trying to play off the fact that he wasn't tired after firing that technique early, and he was succeeding, if barely, as it stood his chest was rising and falling a little faster than it should be normal.
"What is better — to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?" It was a question that the Anubian had been wondering for some time now. He had asked this question to many beings in the galaxy, and many of them had scoffed at the absurd question and attempted to kill himself for one reason or another. Of course, they paid the ultimate price as he made itself know that he did not like to be ignored or patronized like a yapping pup.
Then again, with how he was now, doing so would prove to be extremely difficult, but he was sure in time his old powers will come back, and then they'll see the error of their ways soon enough. He just needed to wait a bit more before he could attempt to do anything, or make sure that no one could stop him if the tried, the last thing he needed was to abandon the planet because everyone took offense of him attempting to do his job properly.
Oh well, he'll burn that bridge once he gets there, that and anything else that dares to stand in his way.

It was probably a question that many on Earth had already tried to give themselves an answer to; it was exactly the blue marble the planet that was mostly damaged by their presence that far, and possibly some other considering the Empire had likely sent other soldiers off to conquer other worlds. Such, unfortunately, as much as it was a shame, it was exactly how it was. Saiyans weren’t born conquerors but warriors, and yet that’s what they did with their strength; they wanted to conquer but at what cost? For their reputations? For fortune? He didn’t know many greedy Saiyans, on Cornatto’s behalf, he didn’t even care about money at all. To him, they were something completely unnecessary; the only thing they could do something for, though, could be affording training material. Other than that, they didn’t have any use for him.
He didn’t know what pleased the Saiyans so much when it came to killing people and destroying entire populations; it just felt unreal to him, and seriously something that while he could maybe understand killing someone if they were evil or anyways posed a threat to those they held dear. Cornatto himself would have likely done such a thing himself in that case if it were necessary. But to him, killing without reason was just pointless. What his blood thrived for was a fight, not the fact that he had managed to kill someone.
And yet, it was what one could sum the Saiyan Empire with; conquering, destroying and killing. They were pretty much mostly like that, and while the Alliance was full out of members of the same race, they were there for a better reason; for peace. But it was something that not everyone approved of, or rather they weren’t exactly comfortable with, but it seemed that there were enough people that at least agreed with the Overseer since he had managed to build the Alliance up to what it had become.
And among the members of the Alliance, Cornatto himself had faith in Natto’s goal and also approved it. It was something that he wouldn’t have ever believed if it hadn’t been for the Overseer himself talking him about the Reborn Saiyan Alliance back then on planet Earth; to him, it did just sound strange that Saiyans could have ever been capable of that. Because, at the time, Cornatto wasn’t fond of the warrior race, but he slowly changed idea after he met the former commander of the Saiyan Empire.
However, the Anubian likely ignored most of the information the Earthling Saiyan was aware of; just like he had proved to him already by telling him that he didn’t even know what had happened on Earth, or at least when it came to the Alliance. Because he still thought of the Saiyan race as the one who was from the Empire, which while wasn’t entirely wrong, there were better people than them.
For some reason, before the Earthling Saiyan started his assault on the Anubian, he looked somewhat frightened. He didn’t exactly know why; almost as if he had seen a ghost, but he doubted that a ghost could have ever scared someone as strong as Cervez. He couldn’t even imagine that the Anubian feared what the Saiyan's true nature, that was the truth; that Cornatto was among the ranks of the Super Saiyans. While he could have easily beaten down Cervez like most Saiyans likely would have by now, he wanted to enjoy a good fight with the fellow fighter.
However, he wasn’t entirely sure whether Cervez was that content with how the battle was going or not; he seemed somewhat annoyed with him, maybe he was wrong, but that’s how it looked like to him.
The moment Cornatto launched himself at Cervez again, not only he easily dodged by stepping to the side but also managed to stop any possible attempt at a combination move of the Saiyan as he moved away from the blue dressed Saiyan and not only that but also fired a powerful technique at the Saiyan. And it was different from the other he had managed to dodge earlier-- no, there was no comparison. This one was much more powerful, and there was no way that he could have ever dodged that, but it’d have managed to hit the Saiyan.
At that point, he had no other choice other than attacking back with a technique of his own; and he was going to do it with a personal favorite of his, the Kyūtsuyo. Pretty much your average ki wave so to say, but also the technique he was mostly familiar with since he had discovered the power of the energy within a living being as a child.
The man drew back his arm and quickly charged his ki into his hand before he launched his palm forward and fired a blue-colored wave to contrast Cervez’s beam, however as much as he tried, it was still stronger! But he had to keep it up; he still had some energies left so he could still manage to concentrate enough energy for him to try and flip the tables. However, that was easier to be said than done.
The Earthling Saiyan grit his teeth as he tried to keep it up, but it wasn’t that easy considering the amount of force behind the Anubian’s technique. Not to mention that his speeches only confused him even more; what the hell was that supposed to mean?! Cornatto thought that he likely meant the difference between a good-hearted Saiyan and one, whom, while evil had managed to redeem himself. And that was pretty much the only thing he could think of at the moment.
“Y-you don’t get it!... Our differences are not about our will to fight, but what we fight for-- that's what makes us different!” - exclaimed the man, his features hardening as he tried to push back with his energy wave, but it was useless.
“And, if I have, to be honest-- I don’t see how your question means anything! A good person is still a good person in the present, whatever their past was, it doesn’t matter!”
Cornatto initiated a beam struggle with his [OT-2] Super Kyūtsuyo (57.500 VS 150.000)
It was awe inspiring, their two powers slammed against each other and meet at the center, creating a vacuum of space as the two techniques fought for dominance, though Cervez's was slowly but surely oppressing the other into backing down, Cornatto's attack still held a lot of power to give him some pause, but not enough to potential kill him if it had hit him head on.
His attack, however, was stronger than Cornatto's attack, and even stronger than the owner of the attack himself; it could be theorized that it had enough power to kill the Saiyan Warrior if he wasn't careful, if not severely injure him to the point of unconsciousness. Cervez wasn't after any of those things, but he wanted to let the Warrior know that he didn't mind taking things up a notch, and the use of his strongest finger beam technique was proof of that.
His eyes glinted and shone as the light show reflected against his eyes, the Anubian's face remaining as impassive as ever, even though moment prior he had been a nervous wreck about the potential of a Super Saiyan standing before him, but he had forcefully kicked his insecurities to the curb, not letting the threat of "what might be" deter him from enjoying himself.
It has been so long, oh so very long, since he had had fun battling another being in the galaxy. That was one of the downsides of having so much power that you could kill almost anything with the flick of your wrist was that any battle became nothing but a chore; for what enjoyment was to be found when no one could touch you or even harm you at all, and crumble to dust just because you looked in their general direction?
It was a pain, it was a slowly festering disease that took root and never stopped spreading until it encompassed everything. Don't get him wrong, he liked his job, it was his duty as a God of Destruction to make sure that the Balance was in place and to keep Zeno-Oh-sama content that way, but the downsides were sometimes too much to bear when you had the ultimate power to do anything you ever wanted.
Then again, looking at himself now, where was all that almighty power? Where have centuries of his battle-hardened aura and strength had gone? Was this some sort of punishment because of what he did in the past? Or was this some sort of prank that the King of All, Zeno-oh-sama; thought was a good way to scare the crap out of the Gods of Destruction he had under his command?
He really didn't know the answers to any of those questions, since the moment he woke up and left that far away planet, the questions kept piling up with no end in sight, and it was starting to give him a massive headache. If this keeps up as it was, the Anubian knew that he might go insane with all this questions and theories and everything in between fighting for space inside his brain. It was enough to make his head explode, it was enough to drive a lesser being into killing themselves, but he persevered and stood firm.
For what else he could do, but live on to see his old power return to him little by little? Taking the easy way out was cowardly, something to look down upon, and the thought of appearing before his King and tell him the reason for his death also made him think twice -- maybe thrice before he thought about destroying himself.
It was a funny thought, though, all things considered; a God of Destruction slowly destroying themselves from the inside little by little until there was nothing left but a moving husk that had no feelings, no thoughts or intelligence, only moved to do what was required and nothing else.
He shivered just thinking about becoming something like that. He refused to become something like that.
What the Saiyan Warrior said, though, brought him back from a very dark road his thoughts had taken for the past few minutes. It made him raise an eyeridge in curiosity, his purple-colored eyes watching as the man kept struggling to fight against his energy beam, yet his technique was still gaining ground on the Saiyan, minute by minute. "I see. So that's your answer," Chuckling lowly under his breath, he decided that the latter was a good answer as any, it wasn't as in depth as some of the answers he had gotten in the past, but it would make do; not everyone was the same after all.
Still, his first statement brought him a small amount of pause, enough that Cornatto's technique managed to get a foot-hold on the beam struggle before he refocused, his energy beam once more slowly pushing against the Saiyan. "Then answer me this, Cornatto, Saiyan Warrior of Planet Natto, Soldier of the Saiyan Alliance!" Cervez exclaimed so he could be heard over the loud sound of their beams pushing against each other. The Anubian stopped pushing too hard with his technique, sort of bringing a stalemate in their beam struggle, "What is worth fighting for?! What drives you to keep going when everything seems too dark!? What is your determination!?"
These questions he was asking the Saiyan, seemed a bit too personal in their nature, but Cervez desperately wanted to know, what drove the Saiyan to keep going forward, even though everything seemed useless? What pushed him to meet an unstoppable force instead of choosing the coward's way out and fly away to live another day?
Waiting for the man to answer him, Cervez took away most of the lethality that was to be found inside his energy beam, no longer did it had the potential to kill the Saiyan Warrior should it connect with his body head on, but it will still pack a hell of a wallop that would probably leave the Saiyan unconscious, or just worse for wear.
