"Lord Cervez~" An angry tick mark throbbed dangerously on Cervez's temple, a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his canine head as he turned his face slightly to regard the Demon Wolf flying beside him. "What is it, Samael?" For the last half an hour, the sandy-furred Demon Wolf had whined feebly under his breath, absentmindedly using a hand to hold his stomach as it throbbed angrily in protest of being empty for so long. "Are we close to home yet? I'm really hungry~" The Demon Wolf send puppy eyes at the Anubian flying a few paces in front of him, only making that bead of sweat enlarge at the sheer absurdity of the situation.
They had been on another bout of training for the past few hours before it got too dark, and now were flying back to their home, or well, any abandoned building that Cervez could call a home, anyway. The Anubian hadn't gotten any liaison to help him find a relatively cheap home, nor did he had the potential to use the nifty ability of Magic Materialization to create a house to call his own, but perhaps soon as he had been trying to teach himself (and by proxy also Samael) the last few hours without much success.
"Yes, Samael, we're almost there, we just need to keep this pace for an hour more and we shall arrive sooner or later."
Samael's displeasure at the news was immediate. "An hour more of this hell!?" Cervez pointedly fingered one of his large ears, the Demon's shrill tone enough to make it ring something awful. He was impressed that the Demon Wolf's usual deep growly bass could reach such a soprano tone. But he was more surprised that such a ruthless Demon could become such a damn puppy at the flick of a switch, Samael might act clueless or naive when he wanted to but once he had the all clear he turned wicked and cruel even when the task was nothing but to spar with him.
"Fuck this," Blinking at the curse, the Anubian watched as a fiery aura enveloped Samael's body, the Demon Wolf looking down at the dark waters below with a determined expression on his face. "Wait, Samael, don't—" Too late was the order given, as the Demon Wolf shoot off at speed towards the depths below, crashing like a cannonball with great force behind it and sending water flying everywhere. But Samael had a slight miscalculation when he dived like a bullet, so instead of floating in the dark waters, he crashed right at the bottom of the ocean, making a large crater in the process and shaking the whole underwater biome.
In the distance, Cervez could see a large amount of water suddenly being pulled towards the shores of an island at great speed, little by little gaining more height until it was about two hundred meters tall, enough to potentially swallow the tallest building he had seen back at West City. Like a great looming beast, it came crashing down against an island, completely submerging it in its deadly pressure and once the waves stabilized, that island was nowhere to be seen.
A bead of sweat formed on the back of his head. "Thankfully there weren't any lives on that island," There wasn't one as far as his Mastered Ki Sense could detect, otherwise he'd try to stop that wave. It would have been ridiculously easy too, with just a flick of his wrist and a call of "Almighty Push" the matter would have been over before it could escalate.
Back with Samael, the Demon Wolf blinked as the underwater life stared back at him once he tugged his face off the hole it punched in the waterbed. Narrowing his eyes he shooed off a strange looking fish away from his face, it had a strange appendage on its forehead that glowed with some sort of bioluminescence, and those teeth, holy shit; this fish needed to see a damn odontologist as soon as possible. The strange fish stared at him for a few seconds, his jaws always open and with a dead stare in its milky white eyes, without prompting the thing quickly speed off into the darkness, disappearing shortly after a few seconds.
'That was one of the strangest fish I've seen in my life and considering I was only born a few days ago, that's not really saying much now that I think about it.' The sandy-furred Demon Wolf shrugged his shoulders and started to swim upward. This being the first time he ever swam, he had an awkward time trying to figure out what limbs were supposed to do what, but he quickly got the hang of it after a few moments of trial and error, mostly errors.
It was a little hard to stay afloat he realized, he constantly had to move his arms and legs and channel his Ki in large amounts so as to not sink back down into the ocean's depths. But he persevered and didn't let the darkness sway him, though it did weird him out a little when the feeling of a thousand unseen eyes washed over him. He shrugged that feeling away and continued swimming upward, he needed a little light to see what he could hunt for nourishment and his air was starting to run out.
But then he felt the strong water currents grab a hold of his limbs, flailing around as he tried to regain his balance and not dragged off with the currents at the same time. Seeing no other choice, the Demon Wolf sighed internally. 'Okay, this will make me feel sore as hell tomorrow but it'd be worth it... I hope. Man, I'm really hungry, I just want to eat already~' With a shake of his head to brush away those thoughts, he quickly sped off, his muscles tensing and jumping as he used all his might to advance against the raging currents that wanted to drag him back down into the ocean's floor.
It wasn't easy, far from it in fact even with his vast amount of power, sometimes he would have to let himself sink back down to the bottom of the ocean and sort of rest for a while before trying again, other times he had to be quick and dodge the random stuff that the currents drifted around, from huge rocks to cumbersome pieces of wood that wanted to smack him around to even the carcass of an animal or two.
Let's just say that the previous appetite that he had been building up to abated slightly when he saw the guts of an enormous fish of some kind washing alongside the streams...
His chest rose up and down as he kept going and going, a half-crooked grin pulling at his muzzle as he felt the burning sensation coursing through his arms, legs, and slowly enveloping the rest of his body. 'Yep. I'm going to fucking hate myself in the morning once the burn wears off.' He snickered internally at the thought but soon yelped outwardly, bubbles of air snapping into existence and floating to the surface as something in the water grabbed at his ankle and pulled him down.
The Anubian's eyeridge rose in curiosity as he saw bubbles froth the surface of the ocean, a small feeling of worry pooling in his gut for his charge's well-being. Shaking his head, he pointedly sat in the air Indian style and made himself wait patiently for his companion to come back to the surface, with food or no food. "That mongrel better hurry up. We're losing night time at this rate and if I don't get enough sleep I'll turn really cranky the next morning." Seriously, if Samael dared waste all that time and not catch something while underwater he'd have some words with the Demon Wolf, some very pointed words that would make the Demon Wolf wish he had never been born.
Followed by a Finger Beam or two, just to drive the point further home...
Blinking startled eyes at his current predicament, Samael rose a brow at the sight of the fish from some minutes ago filled his vision, but, this time, the fish wasn't alone. Indeed it wasn't as it seemingly brought along a larger version of itself, with tentacles, of all damn things, and an even more busted jaw and teeth to go along with it, making it look like something that crawled from the bowels of hell rather than this planet. The creature was huge! Even bigger than he was! It's tentacles writhed around in agitation, and those busted ass teeth looked ready to tear something apart, preferably his flesh.
They looked like they wanted to start shit with him, the Demon Wolf groaned internally at this, he wanted to find something to eat goddamnit! Not waste energy that he didn't necessarily have in huge spades right now, nor become the food of some stupid ugly predator of the sea world! 'Great, just what I needed. Man, at this point I'm gonna die of hunger.' A few silent beats passed as the trio entered some sort of stand-off, waiting to see what the other would do before reacting. In that span of time, a thought struck him, and he smirked rather evilly.
Strangely, the fishes almost seemed to curl back in fright once they saw the rather wicked look gleaming in his eyes. 'Heh heh heh, you two idiots actually came at the perfect time. You see, I was starting to tire after all that swimming, and when I get tired, I get hungry.' He licked his chops, watching amusedly as the previous boasting that the fishes showed quickly crumbled to dust when they realized how screwed they were now that their feeble brains realized that they were in the presence of an even bigger predator than they were.
One very quick and overkill beating later, and the Demon Wolf broke the surface of the water, waving at his Master waiting patiently in the air for him. "Oi! I found us something to eat!" Cervez came down until he floated merely a foot from touching the water and stared down at his charge with an eyeridge raised in curiosity. "Have you really? Then don't knock around the bush, show me what you caught." With a grin, Samael began to levitate, his fur completely drenched and outlining how truly buffed he was compared to his Master, who looked freaking lithe standing beside Samael. His clothes were wet as well, but nothing that a quick flare of Ki wouldn't dry in a few moments.
Then, once his vassal finally breached the water completely, he saw it. Eyes widening to the side of dinner plates, he pointed with a shaking finger at what he was seeing. "WHAT in the King of All's name is THAT?!" Unfettered, Samael proudly announces his catch, like a puppy dropping a dead gecko at its Master's feet. "Dinner, Lord Cervez!"
Some time later...
With a half-eaten roasted fish on a stick hanging limply in his clawed hands, Cervez stared at the spectacle before him with his lip raised slightly into a sneer of disgust. Seated in front of him on a small rock with a small campfire acting as a wall between the two, he watched Samael's eating habits with the same intensity someone did when they were seeing a trainwreck.
"Hmmm, delicious." The Wolf Demon said as he ate the large fish with relish, not seeing his Master eyeballing him like something that crawled from underneath his shoe. "To be honest, Lord Cervez. These things put up quite a good fight, it surprised even myself! The large one almost pulled my arm out of its socket when its tentacle grabbed me, but nothing that a Ki blast to the face couldn't solve. The smaller fish didn't even put much of a fight, it was so disappointing after battling the other one. All I had to do was give it a hard punch to its body and it was as stiff as a board." Grinning broadly back at Cervez, his tail wagged softly to and fro behind him showing his good mood. "But now they're food inside our bellies, so that's that!" He threw the bones of the large fish aside once he was done with it and sighed contentedly, laying back down to stare up at the stars in the sky while he waited for his Master to finish his own portion of the catch he made.
Cervez pulled a face at his charge but didn't offer any sort of comment besides a roll of his eyes. Silently, he went back to his own food, nibbling on the strange fish and it's even strange flavor of meat and chicken, his large ears twitching as he caught the faint muttering of his companion. "Now that I'm full and with energy again, I can't help but wonder, though, should I even continue with my training? It's really freaking late, I wouldn't be surprised if the sun reared its head on the horizon. That swimming spree from before really was a good workout, perhaps I should do it again sometime soon..." Silence descended upon the two of them shortly after, broken by the sounds of twigs and leaves breaking apart upon the warm fires of the campfire.
But suddenly, Samael leaned forward so he was seated more than laying down on the rock and stared at his Master with wide eyes, earning a raised eyeridge and an inquisitive look in return. "What?" Why did he feel like he had bitten more than he could chew when he accepted Samael as his loyal vassal just now?
The answer to that feeling was immediate as Samael spoke. "Lord Cervez, can we please have a pool in our home," Bringing his hands together as in a prayer, hilariously ironic considering what Samael was, the Demon Wolf pleaded to his Master with puppy-eyes. "Please???"
"No." Cervez was quick to deter that request, however, he was quick to explain why. "Not because I don't want to, merely because I don't have the resources nor the space needed to conform to your request, so until I can you'll have to settle with swimming in the ocean." The answer he received made Samael frown, though it didn't seem to have stuck longer than five seconds as he shook his head. "Eh, it's fine I guess. Besides, coming all the way here and battling with the ocean world might offer some good training for me, so I might j-just—" Samael trailed off with a stutter before he began to violently sneeze in quick successions.
He sniffed and brushed his nose with a finger, a frown settling on his muzzle at the strange sensation that washed over him. The Anubian, for his part, quickly threw the sneezed on fish stick upon the flames, he had been almost done with it anyway so it wasn't a great lost to him. His attention was more riveted upon the large Demon Wolf, watching amusedly as he tilted his head to the side in puzzlement.
"Lord Cervez, I feel funny..." Said Lord chuckled under his breath at the nasal tone in his companion's tone. "It seems you caught a cold, Samael. It's a normal infection that happens to everyone, even beings from other galaxies. It will disappear within a week or so, even less considering how healthy you seem. Word of advice, though?" The Anubian stood up and put his hands behind his back, a smirk twitching at the corner of his lips, "Perhaps next time you will think twice before choosing to go for a swim in the ocean, especially at the dead of the night when the chill starts to kick in." With that said, the Jackal-humanoid began to ascend to the skies, though not without calling out to Samael first. "Also, I'd suggest you get dressed again, something tells me that most of the resident on Earth won't react kindly to a six foot tall naked humanoid Wolf flying around, even if it is night."
Instead of replying to that, Samael sneezed again and grumbled under his breath. "Man, Lord Cervez, you can be really mean when you want to be..." He sighed before standing up, stretching a bit to get the kinks out of his body, groaning as his body popped here and there as his tense muscles loosened a bit. Once he was done stretching he walked towards where his clothes were drying suspended on a thick branch and with a small fire smoldering a safe distance away.
The last thing he needed was for his clothes to catch on fire.
Once he was dressed properly, Samael used a deadly sharpened claw to pick at his teeth for a second to ensure he did not have anything stuck in them. "Come on, Samael. The longer we dawdle the faster we lose any sort of sleep we might get before the sun rises." Samael rolled his eyes at his Master, but dutifully followed his command and rose to the air, soon floating at the same level as him.
Nodding his head, the Anubian looked in a general direction before he shoots off at speed, the Demon Wolf following his flight path closely. "Alright, hopefully, we can get there before the sun rises. I want to sleep for at least eight hours." If someone were to interrupt his sleep then there would be hell to pay.
Samael snickered at his Master, muttering under his breath. "You know, with all that whining, someone would think that you were born to be a cat instead of a dog~"
Large ears twitching, Cervez turned his head a bit to glare at his charge. "What was that!?" He asked sharply, demanding his charge to repeat himself without saying so.
Showing some self-preservation, Samael merely smiled demurely back at his irate Master. "Nothing, Lord Cervez~ Nothing at all."
"Lord Cervez~" An angry tick mark throbbed dangerously on Cervez's temple, a bead of sweat trailing down the side of his canine head as he turned his face slightly to regard the Demon Wolf flying beside him.
