For all his pride in his bloodline, Celerous had never truly learned what it meant to be a Saiyan. He was raised on a Human world, by a Human, and even his father and grandfather didn't impart anything more than a few poorly taught history lessons about the Saiyan race. His day to day activities were seeding, planting, hoeing, and harvesting, followed by some sloppy sparring with his mother, who by now didn't hold a candle to him. And, with his mother being Human, even the sloppy sparring and fighting techniques he'd picked up from her were Earthling in nature.
He may have had a tail, but for all intents and purposes, Celerous was one hundred percent Human.
And that bothered him. It wasn't that he felt ashamed at being Human, just the opposite. He was just as proud of being of Human descent as he was of being of Saiyan descent. But he'd spent his whole life as a Human, he grew up Human. He knew what being Human meant. But he didn't know what it was like to truly be a Saiyan. He didn't know what he was supposed to embody, other than fighting. What was the average Saiyan like? What was important to their society?
After nineteen long years, Celerous finally had the chance to find out. Coming to Namek had always been meant to be a journey of knowledge and self discovery, but unfortunately, Celerous had gotten side tracked when the skies went dark. Though, he did get to learn a bit about how the Namekian's chose their leadership, and that in itself was interesting. But now, as he careened his spaceship in the direction of the Saiyan Citadel, Celerous would finally have the chance to meet other Saiyans, like he'd always dreamed of doing.
It had been the older Saiyan, Toru, who had given him the idea of coming here in the first place. After the business with the Vampire and her cohorts, the Remnant Alliance Counselor had extended him an invitation to come see the Alliance in person. Or, well, he told Celerous that "[he was] welcome in the Alliance anytime," but the hybrid figured that was close enough.
The hybrid slowed his ship as he finally came within the Remnant Alliance's air space (or what he assumed was their airspace), and gently set the spacecraft on the blue ground. The gentle hum of the engines halted, as Celerous killed the ignition switch, and made to exit his ship. Upon walking down the boarding ramp, Celerous finally got a good look at the Saiyan Citadel he'd wanted to visit for so long.
And all he could do was whistle.
"So this is the famous Saiyan Citadel, huh? Not bad, considering what happened to the homeworld. Not bad at all. I wonder what their training grounds are like?"
Celerous wasn't sure what he should do first, or where he should start. Maybe he should seek out Toru? The man did tell him to come find him if he needed anything, but on the other hand, Celerous was pretty much just touring the place. That wasn't enough to justify bothering a Remnant Alliance Counselor.

"Glad you like it. Took quite a bit to build this thing, considering Namek is so void of building materials." A man's voice came from around the corner of the Citadel, Toru had apparently been at the right place at the right time. He had just been leaving the Citadel for the day to do another round around the city to make sure things were running smoothly when he heard the familiar voice of the Saiyan from before. He walked up to Celerous, smile of his face and extended his hand to the man when he got close enough to him.
"I don't remember if we were properly introduced... I've been so swamped with work I'm forgetting absolutely everything. My name is Toru, nice to see you've come by. I have to say you don't look very familiar to me, and you don't particularly look like you belong to the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom. What's brought you to Namek?" He asked curiously and kindly, never once losing his smile. In his younger days Toru always had the goofiest and dumbest smile on his face, but now... it was one hell of an effort just to keep up a basic smile. He had been through so much while imprisoned, and then even more since his freedom. Until they came to Namek, Toru had caught himself wondering if he hadn't just died a long time ago and was living through some sort of limbo.

If Celerous was surprised by the sudden appearance of Toru (spoiler, he was), he didn't show it. He took a second to reexamine the Citadel. Just where did they get all the building materials? It wasn't as if Namek was known for its industry; the Namekians probably didn't even know what the word meant! That didn't leave the Saiyans a lot of options for materials, unless they Capsule Corp had provided them with the majority of it. And then there was the question of just who actually built the structure. As far as Celerous knew, the average Saiyan wasn't a construction worker. They were built to fight.
Then again, Celerous didn't know a thing about Saiyans past their history.
The hybrid turned to Toru, "how did you guys build this? With what labor, and who provided the materials?"
He noticed Toru's smile, and Celerous almost found himself shocked to see one on a Saiyan's face. The man looked at peace, if only for the moment. Celerous supposed that, when you've survived the destruction of multiple home worlds, you scrambled for peace whenever it was in sight. It was a depressing thing to think about; to imagine losing not just your home, but the planet it was on, along with almost your entire race. If he'd been around to witness that, Celerous would probably find himself desperate for a quiet life. The Saiyans, or what was left of them- 'no us,' Celerous corrected himself, deserved a break from fate. They'd suffered enough.
Toru introduced himself properly, and Celerous took his hand with a firm grip. If nothing else (you know, like being around to defuse the Dragon Ball situation), the hybrid appreciated the man's civility. If Cel had visited the Saiyan Galactic Kingdom rather than the Remnant Alliance, he probably would have been met with a gun to the face.
"The name's Celerous Fark, it's nice to be able to properly meet you. I was born and raised on Earth, so uh, you don't have to worry about me being with the Kingdom. I actually came here to learn a little bit more about the Saiyan race. You see, my mom raised me, and she's one hundred percent Human. My dad was the Saiyan parent, but he was killed out in deep space when I was young, so beyond what the history books say, I don't really know anything about... well, my heritage, or what it means."
Celerous was surprised at just how easily the words tumbled from his mouth. He'd never told anyone, beyond his mother and grandfather (who, for whatever reason, refused to treat him as anything other than Human), about what had happened to his father. So, then, why did he just spew half his life's history to this Saiyan he'd only met once before?
Maybe it was the smile. Cel refused to follow the train of thought, but Toru's smile almost reminded him of his father's. WC: 489 TWC: 1017

Toru's smile only widened to an almost cocky smirk whenever Celerous asked him how they managed to build all of this in such a short time. Honestly, it had been easy when Kyuri was around, a little harder without her but still manageable. with his thumb, he pointed to another tower off in the distance behind him, it stuck out like a sore thumb among the smaller buildings around it.
"We used to have a Councillor who was pretty amazing with tech, she provided most of the machinery to get all this done. We've got a few allies since splitting off from the Kingdom as well, so Capsule Corp and the Galactic Patrol have been pretty helpful in getting us set up with materials. Though most of the actual labor part of building all of this was done by anyone strong enough to lift a hammer." Toru easily admitted, having no problem in telling the young man about how the Citadel had come to be. It was really a miracle they had managed to get all of this here and it was really through Koma and his efforts to create multi cultural alliances that they had managed. Really, that boy had turned into an amazing leader over the last few years, not something the older saiyan had expected from his nephew.
He squeezed Cel's hand just as tightly when he approached and introduced himself, nodding towards him as he gave him a quick rundown of his history. So he was an Earth born saiyan hunh? If Toru wasn't already smiling that definitely would have brought it up. It definitely made his smile more relaxed as he found a slight sense of kinship to the boy after his words.
"You know I was in your shoes once. Believe it or not I was born on Earth too, didn't even know I was half saiyan until I was... 9 or 10 I think, when my half sister came to Earth and we happened upon each other. Grew up on a farm, loved training hated fighting. It can be quite a culture shock to find out about your saiyan heritage but, I'm glad I did. I've been with the Alliance a while but I'm still learning a lot about us every day. The longer you stick around the more you'll learn." He stated confidently, moving his hand up to place on Celerous' shoulder in a friendly manner. A laugh escaped his lips as his tail came up behind him, waving back and forth in an obvious manner to draw attention to it.
"If you haven't figured this one out yet you've had an easy childhood. Your tail's going to hurt like a bitch when someone grabs it. Have you worked that kink out yet?" He asked the boy curiously. Of course most kids learned that fact young and trained hard to over come it, but you never knew...
It only made sense that the Remnant Alliance had help building this structure, but Celerous was surprised to hear that it came from Capsule Corp and the Galactic Patrol. While Earth was friendly with the Alliance, that still didn't change the fact that Earth (and Capsule Corp in addition) had its own infrastructure to work on. To hear that they donated resources and helped to create such a massive structure... Well, it Celerous's head tilt. He found it even more surprising that the Galactic Patrol had pitched in with their own share. The Saiyans, whether Alliance or Kingdom, were both known to have roles in some of the biggest messes in the universe. True, the Alliance were typically the good guys in the situation (at least, Celerous had never heard of them being the bad guys), but that didn't diminish their role.
Saiyans typically only made for trouble, or at least, that's how a majority of the universe seemed to judge them.
Hearing that Toru was a half Saiyan, that had grown up on a farm on Earth shocked Celerous. He knew that he wasn't the only Human/Saiyan hybrid in the universe, far from it, but he would have assumed that someone in the Remnant Alliance had grown up in the Saiyan Galactic Alliance. Celerous didn't expect an Earth born farmer to have actually left Earth, though he supposed it made plenty of sense. After all, Celerous himself had left for the same reason: he had a whole other culture to learn about.
Still though, hearing that this mighty Alliance Counselor, who was also a Super Saiyan, had once been a farmer inspired Celerous a little. Celerous himself left home because he wanted more from life than a sedentary lifestyle. Maybe there was hope for his dream after all.
Toru's hand clapped onto his shoulder, and Celerous suddenly found his eyes following his fellow hybrid's wafting tail. Celerous smiled as he was asked about the sensitivity of his furry appendage. He let his uncurl from around his waist.
"Oh yeah, trust me, I know the pain. Almost all of the training I've received has come from my mother, and she made damn sure to iron out that weakness," Celerous found himself laughing quite easily, "I even have control over the Great Ape form, though I've never actually used it in battle."
Celerous wasn't fond of his Great Ape form, mostly because he didn't like how big he grew when he was in it. It just made him an easier target. Plus, even without that transformation, Celerous could easily boost his power to half of what he gained when transforming into a mighty Oozaru.
"I don't quite know how to explain it, but being a giant monkey just doesn't feel right to me. My skin itches when I'm in the form. Besides," Celerous smirked, if only to himself, "I'm shooting for a level of power that even a Great Ape couldn't hope to match."
Plus, he really didn't want to have his tail chopped off. That was like, Rule One for fighting Great Apes: kill the tail. WC: 517 TWC:1534

Toru couldn't help but laugh when Celerous started his answer with 'oh yeah', it was no secret that saiyan tails were a weakness... if not because it hurt physically, it hurt their pride if anything happened to it. It was the one thing they possessed that separated them from human's and other humanoid races. The saiyan tail... it provided the saiyans with so much... an extra keen sense of balance, power, a transformation... without it, Saiyan's wouldn't be what they where. He remembered losing his tail once when he was younger, and it had been one of the worst experiences of his life. He had zero sense of balance after growing up relying on it so much, he had to fly everywhere just to get around!
"Hahaha, and you mastered your great ape form? Your mother taught you that too?? She must be one hell of an Earthling then, I'll have to commend her, even we have trouble teaching our children how to control it. A lot of the adults here still can't do it, and you know what? I don't even know if I could. I've never transformed under the full moon. While I'm half saiyan... I"m a little more Earthling than most. I absolutely refuse to let myself transform... I feel like that might cut out the little remaining Earthling I have left in me..." He admitted, having jsut as easy of a time talking to Celerous as the boy was to him. It was nice to have another Earthling Saiyan like him to talk too, someone who could really understand what he was talking about. Sure it had been nice to talk to Karota but she was still a purebred Saiyaness.
Whenever Celerous explained his own distaste for the form he nodded with a wide grin. He was right, Celerous really did understand and feel the same way as Toru did about this! It was extremely refreshing! and for the first time in a long time his smile was genuine.
"You're talking about the Super Saiyan Form, right? Well, it's pretty hard to achieve. You can have all the power in the world and still not be able to unlock it if the conditions aren't right. For me... well, for everyone I know so far it's rage. I transformed for the first time back during the Saiyan Empire's war on Earth. My sister was actually with the Empire, but I was a part of Earth's Defenders. Someone ended up seriously hurting her, and even though we were supposed to be enemies I got so mad, I couldn't help but light right up." He said with a slight fluctuation to his power. It was just enough to push a blast of golden energy through his hair before it died back down and immediately was suppressed back to 10,000.
