"Now why would I need an out exactly? This is the Demon Realm after all, anywhere you stand is my kingdom, my world. I am just as much at home here as I am in the palace. Besides, that water's properties will be more than enough to sustain the three of us. It will keep both thirst and hunger at bay." She would lie, extending her hands towards the corrupted water with which she had been sitting in not moments ago. Of course she didn't expect Flare to agree to anything at all, but she did expect her to act in Cassia's best interest, and right now, that was the Demon Queen's weapon. She was in no rush to leave this dimension, and so would use her portal to escape as soon as the opportunity presented itself.
"It's quite simple, honestly. That water contains the dark energies of Makai, if you were to drink it... then you could create your own portal to get out of here. No strings attached, drink, escape here scotch free." She would imply calmly. The skin on her body would begin to change colour as thick, Crimson dragon scales began to cover her from head to toe as Flare approached. Whenever Flare grabbed her, Nakiya stayed still, the only 'flesh' still exposed was that of her face. She didn't retaliate, instead just looked the fire Elemi in the eyes.
"You are the only one making this situation difficult, Flare. " She stated just as Cassia ran up to Flare who had moved to stand in front of her and grabbed the back of her pant leg, tugging at it and leaning back as if she was trying to pull Flare away from Nakiya.
"No. No! Please no..." She would say again and again from behind Flare, little tears once more appearing in her green eyes.
The scaley bits she had taken a grasp of would be fairly shielded against the flames, seeing as Naki was a dragon of some sort as well. Flare had her fiery eyes back into Naki's as she'd straight face lie to her. Flare wasn't in the absolute know how of all this information very demons and this supposed water, but she's not really stupid as to take a suggestion to drink that dark looking liquid. The elemi growled against as Naki insisted she was the one being difficult. She could just obliterate her if she wanted, smolder her to ash! Her flames started glowing white for a mere moment before the woman felt something tug at her. At first she'd just stop her tight grip and blink. When the girl full on started pulling at the back of her leg the earthling looked down and back at her. Shaking a bit of her fist that still held onto Naki.
"What a hot load of garbage, scumbag! I'm going to turn you to cinder!" Of all the things she's been taught, being able to control her emotions was something she could rarely let go of. The fiery empath took a moment again to shake the demon before succumbing to an iverwhelming feeling of guilt. Not in front of the kid. Not at risk of other on board assets. In a desperate attempt to appease both her anger and keep things calm she'd try and shove the demon back with some force before dropping out hr oer own flaming self and turning to the young girl in her base form. Attempting to bring her around and hold her in a hug by the head.
"Oh kais, please... Shh... It's okay." Why must she feel so attached? This kid actively went against her intentions and pleaded in favor of working it out with Nakiya... Even as small as the girl was, and as innocent she appeared, she also had an inkling of corruption about her. The only thing tying the two together was the child's late mother.
The corner of Nakiya's mouth curved up into a smirk as she seemed to be riling up the Fire Elemi quite a bit. She would simply give a shrug, not moving to defend herself against the woman as she was violently shaken and threatened. She instead just kept her mouth shut, letting the woman come to her own conclusions as to what the best answer here was. There was only one answer, and that was for Flare to drink the corrupted water. sure nakiya could still portal them both out of there, however if she did that then she wouldn't have any semblance of control over Flare. While the Demonic Water wouldn't grant her total control, partial influence over the woman would suffice. She was quickly becoming one of the strongest in this Universe after-all.
"Go on then girl, turn me to cinder and see how well you escape not only this realm, but the Demon Realm. On your own I'm sure you could find a way, buuuuut~" She would motion with her head towards Cassia who was crying once more. The little girls eyes had already become red as the girl pleaded though hiccs and tears with Flare to leave Nakiya alone. Nakiya would stumble backwards as she was shoved away from Flare, catching her footing only thanks to the assistance of her tail pushing her back up.
In the young girls eyes, Nakiya had never done anything wrong, Nakiya was a good mother who took care of her when both of her parents were away. Nakiya was always there for her... Although whenever Flare came over in her base form to hug her tightly, Cassia would try to wrap her arms around Flare, clinging to her tightly as she sobbed something about not wanting anyone to get hurt.
The young flame took the child in her arms once more and hugged on tightly, letting the child just rest and calm herself in the embrace. Flare looked deep down in herself to realize something. Before, she was just planning on taking her and getting out, but the queen seemed to have other plans. The woman could, with all her might, force Nakiya away and find passage elsewhere for her and the kid, but for some reason this bit of calm tugged at her heart. Nakiya had taunted her further into attacking, which would usually egg her on.
"How dare you. Fine, this water stuff. What's it gonna do to me, and why are ya so persistent on me drinking it. And don't lie. I already don't buy the portal nonsense, I'm doing this for her. If you couldn't already tell. I made a promise." She'd come on out with it, attempting to pick Cass up and turn to face Nakiya up. She was still giving a rather mean look at the foster parent of her adoptive child. Shizen wanted to make sure her child was safe, and quite frankly... She deserved at least that. Someone to properly raise them, not a damned demon. Besides, it had been a while since she'd kept her little secret to herself. It'd be only a matter of time before she gets caught out with it. Better to have somewhere safe to be.
"Just leave me be... And her. I'm not going to keep fighting this if you just give it to me straight. I hate being crossed over and over again." These past years have jaded her on this. And instead of just yelling about it, she was going to keep cool and pat Cass on the head.
And there it was, the cracks starting to form in the wall around Flare's defenses. She knew that Cassia would be the perfect tool to break the Earthling, and if the situation were any different she probably would have found a way to force Flare into complete servitude. This, unfortunately, wasn't about that. Not completely. This was mainly about Cassia, and about the Demon Queen's inability to kill the girl.
Had Cassia been the daughter of Shizen and another, she would have had no issues eliminating the child, regardless of Jarvis' affiliation, but at the end of the day the little hybrid was her children's half sister. This meant that indirectly, they had a family relation and to Nakiya that put the girl on a no kill list. She needed a way to get Cassia as far away from Makai as possible, hating the idea of having the bastard child around her own heirs. That was where Flare came in. Though she wasn't about to let Flare leave without having some sort of control over the situation.
"The lake behind you is called the Demon's Cradle. It births the Corrupt Waters of Makai, a water which, when drank, forces a persons inner most desires to rise to the surface. It releases you from uncertainty, lets you see beyond what is 'good and evil' in this world. It lets you be free to act on your every desire. The little tidbit I benefit from, is that it also allows me to access your thoughts. No matter where you are, I will always be able to find you. It also conveniently, gives you some Demonic power, meaning you will be able to open up that portal, just like I promised." Nakiya informed her with a smirk. Everything she said was true, though pretty sugar coated. The Demonic water did corrupt a persons heart, but in her eyes it did not make them evil. It made them embrace their true nature, and more often then not that led them on a darker path, as it had done with Jarvis in the past.
"What I want from you is simple. I want you to watch over Cassia and raise her as your child. I want you to protect her against anything that might hurt her. She is the sister of my own children, and I won't have any harm come to her if it can be helped. The Corrupt water is simply my insurance policy to make sure you do as your told. I don't expect you to fight for me, to join my armies or to even obey me beyond this. I don't care about your allegiance. My only... request, is that you must call Makai home for at least 1 year. That's more of a political move on my part, not something you need to be worried about." Once more she was being quite honest in her request. Flare wanted the utmost truth from her, and so she gave it. She wouldn't tell Flare that she couldn't bring herself to kill Cassia, for that would be showing weakness.
Flare squinted across the waters as the queen started talking over Cassia and her wails, the young flame grimacing at the name and ideas that came with these vile waters. It was that something that barked at her again, those words. ‘Free to act on your every desire’. It’s the same phrase that stupid cerulean haired prick fought under. No doubt, this being the demon realm, this was a part of the reason the man was so sociopathic. The elemi may have not totally been on board 100% with the black and white mentality of the kais and those above them, but there was always a fine line between being a dick and helping others because it was what helped us all in the long run. This chaos, selfishness that spawned out of demons and Jarvis was the main reason why they had that stupid tournament in the first place.
“Simple?” What Nakiya was proposing wasn’t bloody simple at all. Flare was wanting to take the kid and get the fuck out. No question, the child was hers to protect, but a contract to stay among demons was sure to corrupt her beyond what any bit of water was going to do to her. Besides, the young flame half expected she wasn’t just going to let Flare keep anything to herself. She’d have reign over her thoughts. Her ideas. Something she hated Jarvis for doing already.
It was one of the few things she could possess now. At this point she’d have to throw even that out to the dogs. But, for Cassia…
“That doesn’t sound fuck’n simple, queeny. I’ve got my home to defend. My children to prepare for. I already made my deal to forfeit my tournament spot to that ingrate, you’re wanting me to stay in this hell?” She’d come off abrasive. Patting Cassia still while knelt down. It’d take just a few more moments of hugging to realize she wasn’t going to will herself against this. She couldn’t. It was one of the few promises she hadn’t broke yet. Something she could actually accomplish. Something she’d not have to lose friends and family for over and over again. So, she stood. Ruffling the small girl’s hair one more time.
“Just go ahead and show me the drink. Hurry, I’m very much in the process of reconsidering.” She just held back her anger while she still could, glancing back at Nakiya with those bright crimsons. For a powerful girl as that, her lack of control really shows here the least out of their entire encounter.
Pleural? So it looked like Flare had other children, or was going to have other children. She supposed that wasn't all bad, all things considered, but she couldn't help but think of who's child she had born... Jarvis was known too... She shook her head free of the thought as she then moved back over towards the river, scooping up water with her bare hands. A wisp of magic would appear around her palms, creating a basic, dark and gold cup. Inside of it, the corrupt water would remain still. She would stand up once more, turning to face Flare with this cup in hand.
"I understand the necessities of protecting your child, or children. I guarantee your, and their safety here, as long as you remain as I've asked." She would state, purposely leaving out the part about her requiring to protect Earth. With Flare here it would make that shit stain of a planet that much easier to make disappear if needed. Not a bad idea, though there were no imminent plans t do so. Her plans still remained on Namek for the time being.
"Here, drink this and I will return both you and Cassia to the palace. You will be given proper quarters there, and before you call my home hell, try to see the beauty of it as we do." Nakiya stated a little defensively of her home, offering the dark drink to the woman who was looking at her with the eyes of a trapped beast. There was no telling what this water would do to Flare, how it would react to such an uncontrolled temperament... but at least they were in the safest place for the woman to lash out. If anything she could always portal them back to Earth and let her rage there, this way her own home wouldn't be destroyed...
The young flame kept an eye on the demon as she walked on to the dark, murky waters of this weird realm. Keeping the child close and making sure she wasn't going to just up and start crying again. At this point in her life, seeing a cup form in Naki's hands was nothing new. The MANY things Jarvis and she herself have managed to achieve speak much bigger volume than a mere cup. it was what was inside that made it a dangerous venture. When faced with the demon again she'd eye the cup at first. The promises and such honestly still felt lackluster, and Flare would catch the Earth part. Since this was one of the last few times she'd get to think of it freely, she'd reminisce on how much she'd like to make demon paste out of most them.
"Quarters? Give me a plot of land, I'll build something better than that with enough room and time. Even if it is hell I'll most certainly fit the part." The woman wasn't quite familiar with how the whole makai realm worked, having never actually stepped foot in its realm until now. Now she'd take this mini chalice and eye her now adoptive daughter with a small smile. Another pat on the head, she'd also kneel and look her in the eyes. This close, the two of them definitely didn't look anything alike.
"Stay next to Nakiya, alright? I've heard the effects of this can be violent, I'd not want you hurt doll." She'd offer and make sure she was far enough away from her to stand and eye the liquid in the cup one more time. Biding some time to think. Swirling it around a bit. She wasn't actually too sure on what she'll be like after this. Who she will become. One'd hope she has a decent amount of willpower to be able to not succumb to very dark desires. Oh, if one could only wish that is. No more stalling, her crimson eyes would lock with Nakiyas as she downed the putrid water in a swig. At the start... It was just like a bad beer. Flare blinked and looked at the cup. Wondering if she needed more or- nah, she should has suspected that it'd have to go all down first.
"GHH!!" Her eyes would shoot wide open, and her body lurches forward and head away from the other two as this creeping pain shot through her body in beats. Flames would involuntarily whip out of her as she grit teeth and held back the pains. After a few moments of holding that, the flames still going, Flare would look up and raise some brows through grit teeth. Attempting to straighten up. As soon as she let herself go like that though the pains resumed and a large billow of flame and smoke shot from her backside as she howled and fell to her knees.
"Can't this be fuck'n easier!? Gah!" She'd shout and find herself on all fours, heaving a bit before coughing up some of the water. Her body seemed to be rejecting the stuff with a furious amount of strength. Flare WAS a good deal stronger than someone Nakiya would get away with doing this. More and more water would be spat out rather involuntarily, and the young flame quivered in her position. With as much as she spat out, there's very little telling if the liquid actually did its trick.
"If you want a plot of land you can claim it yourself. There are plenty around for you to chose from. Just watch who you pick a fight with, most nobles have their own small armies at their disposal." Nakiya stated with a dismissive wave of her hand. It didn't matter to her WHERE Flare wanted to live, so long as Nakiya was able to monitor her and the child of Jarvis. She would then extend her hand towards Cassia, allowing the small, sniffling girl to gently walk back over towards the woman that raised her. She didn't think Nakiya was bad, like most people did, and so she wasn't scared of the Demon Queen at all. She did however look back at Flare with hesitation in her eyes. She was going to drink that dark water too? She remembered it hurt a lot of people before... she hoped it didn't hurt her.
Although Cassia would have been wrong, once Flare had patted her head and gone off to drink the water, she was contorting in pain as the water came right back up. Nakiya found herself wondering if the woman even drank any of it at all, so until Flare's coughing fits would subside, she would continue to refill her cup. She wouldn't be satisfied until she felt that darkened aura coming from Flare. It might not work as effectively as it would on someone weaker than her, but corruption was corruption, she didn't particularly NEED control. Not yet.
"If the theatrics are done..." Nakiya would say a little bit impatiently now as she watched Flare agonise over the pain she knew all too well. This water, it was as if it clung to your soul itself, and the throws of corruption were like being torn at from the inside... Still, having become so accustomed to it's properties, it was a bit irritating to see someone struggle so much with it. Usually it was pretty instant... there was clearly a large conflict going on within Flare's soul.
"Show me that you've had enough, you should now be able to create a portal to the palace. Simply focus on my energy, and any other energy that might feel like me." Not a small feet, considering she was asking Flare to sense across dimensions.
Claim it, huh? Having permission from the queen herself to knock around as many demons as it takes to stake a claim in whatever weird dimension they were in would be a very insightful experience. An excuse to let loose while she was forced to stay here maybe. Hell, she could even make a game out of it. Pun intended. That put her at whatever ease it would. As much as one could be when they spat up drink over and over again. Nakiya did the good thing in making sure she'd refill and have a batch that stayed down. Persisting. Not that she could really blame her, I mean. If she were a evil, nasty demon queen she'd want to make sure a volatile fire-lady was calm and simmer during her time around Flare.
"Theatrics? Fuck... you." She'd growl out and try drinking some more. Again, her body seemed to relent. This time a little less profusely, but it'd take her a good few more times of trying to down the stuff for it to stick properly. By the end of that she was hunched over the ground, panting and gripping at the red dirt of this strange place. Everything was... weird. Clear. For once her chaotic sense of self was set neat and orderly, perhaps in the wrong set up, but still there. Flare Squinted up at the woman with a deep inhale and picked herself on up. With all that ill feeling and water still churning in her body, she kept a and over her stomach, in the case it got upset again all the sudden. Her flames died down with the whole calm of the situation.
"So you're saying I'm allowed to kill the demons who try fighting me over some land? I'll tell you this right now unless those armies are comparable to you in strength I'm probably not going to be hassled much. Unless they are stupid or wanna die. Maybe both." She'd come up and say it, smiling with a last few coughs and stepping on over with a shine in her eyes. It had taken this time, at least by what it'd feel like to Nakiya. Willingly ingesting it took more of her soul into account than her mind's ability to go through with it. And in the end, it was for this one and another. She'd come back over just to grab and pat the little one on the head a bit more and smile down at her.
"Focus in on ya? Easy enough, just... big, mean woman with dragon horns. Can't miss that ki signature!" She'd give it a moment and concentrate. Despite the dimensional difference, Flare already had very accute senses across most the known galaxy from her hard word. She's went through a lot of rigor to make sure she was not blindsided by any meanies coming to her planet. One place she didn't figure was Makai, and it was why Nakiya managed to come up onto her so quickly. For, well, this. Given a bit more time the woman may have found some other way to grab the child, or some other way to destroy the demons. But this would do for now, and as far as Nakiya could read she wasn't having those thoughts anymore. Mostly now just planning on a future and hopefully something happy after the course of what seemed like an eternity of suffering.
Eventually, a tiny little blip would appear next to them. Not nearly wide enough to fit anyone in. The fiery lass would give a blink and shrug.
"I'm not very strong in the force, you see... hehe."
"The noble Demon Houses have been acting up as of late. It seems one civil war wasn't enough for them. The stronger they get, the more they want to challenge me. If you can show them your own strength, the lesser class will bow down before you. If you can toss them the head of the ruling noble, then the house is yours. They aren't as strong as I am, but nothing to scoff at." Nakiya clarified with a light shrug of her shoulders. Of course she didn't want Flare to start causing a mass extinction of the Demons and would be keeping a close eye on the woman in that regards.
As Flare would finally start to create a portal, Nakiya would roll her eyes as she noted the size of it. It was barely big enough to toss Cassia through it. Well then, the Makaioshin portal was fuelled by negative energy, and while Flare was just freshly corrupted, she could probably use a boost.
<Stay calm, alright kid? I'm not actually going to hurt you but your mom needs a bit of an incentive.> Nakiya would transmit her thoughts over to Cassia who would stiffen up, now worried about what Queen Nakiya would do.
"Looks like you need a bit of a... boost then." She said simply, grabbing hold of Cassia's scruff and roughly pulling the girl towards her. Nakiya's hand would shift into a large, Dragon like, claw and then wrap itself around the small girls neck. Cassia would gasp, eyes growing wide as she reached up to try and grab the hand that was now strangling her, or seeming to do so anyways.
"Q...Queen Nakiya... S... Stop! Please...! Mama!" Cassia started to cry, clawing at the scaled hand that threatened to suffocate her. It didn't hurt, but damn it was she scared!
