The Eastern section of Earth was shockingly beautiful to Piyano's calm eyes. Open waters and lush greenery was a common sight for the Namekian as he flew over the lands. The Cold North was currently serving as Piyano's home, lands he would return to in a few days as the allure and beauty of winter had found a place within the green aliens soul. However Piyano knew he could not simply live as a hermit in the north during the entirety of his time here on Earth. The blue world may be smaller than Namek, but it offered tremendous adventure and opportunity at every corner that Piyano intended to seize while he explored each land.
Currently Piyano found himself hovering over the incredible East City, far from the largest city on the planet or even the region when compared to Satan City, Piyano was still impressed at the many splendors he could see all about the metropolis. Deciding the bustling place would be a fun location to visit Piyano descended from the skies to walk among the many humans and other inhabitants of the fair city. Piyano easily spent his first hour like any tourist in a new place, with his eyes wide and his gaze high. Everything from the tall buildings to the many parks and shopping centers were marvelous to behold, and the many people were all dressed colorfully as they went about their daily lives.
Coming into a busy street corner Piyano stumbled upon a man dressed far more colorfully and outstandingly than his peers. A short, older gentleman dressed in a rainbow cavalcade of brightly mismatching clothes stood upon a old box to gain some height over the crowded street. Upon his head was a great white hat shaped into the likeness of a mighty duck, its bill parted in a silent cry. This man gave a stirring plea for aid to any who would listen to him with tears blurring his eyes, the water streaking into his great gray beard. Karl the Duck King wailed on about his missing friend and greatest companion 'Sparkles' a duck who had gone missing in the night. Last seen at a well known pond buffered by three great trees Sparkles was missing on today of all days, his birthday.
Truthfully Piyano believed the older gentleman to be quite mad in his advanced age, but the Namekian could in his heart understand a person possessing a deep connection with nature. As a man who lived in tune with the beauty of the environment of the Cold North Piyano found in this crazy old man a possible kindred spirit, for though the love of soft snow had been replaced with a love of squawking ducks Piyano could not rightly name himself different from the old human.
Needing no further convincing Piyano once again rose into the sky. Some people gathered around pointed or commented on the sight, but in this time flying humans weren't uncommon and so a soaring Namekian raised little alarm. Once above the tower line of the city Piyano flew east with the wind at his back. The travel took a sum of ten minutes for Piyano to arrive at the three treed pond. The location was rather breathtaking in its serene quaintness, the whole area possessing a level of stillness that no city could ever achieve.
Dropping down into the soft patches of grass and sand that made up the earth surrounding the ponds clear waters Piyano began to search the area for any signs or clues to Sparkles whereabouts. The tall Namekian spent nearly two hours in his search, when nothing appeared to simply be laying of imprinted upon the ground Piyano lifted and moved stones to search underneath. When that failed the man shook the ponds three trees to see what would come falling out. Leaves and small animals came tumbling down from the rough shakes, too which Piyano found himself apologizing and helping to lift the squirrels and birds back into their homes.
With little success to show for his efforts Piyano turned to his last source for answers, the pond itself. Quietly removing and stacking his clothes on a patch of grass Piyano strode up to the waters edge before leaping into the blue. Sound and pressure changed as the clean waters swallowed him up, the sensation of diving was not new to the Namekian, but it had been months since the man had gone for a swim. Stroking at the waves hand over hand Piyano performed a quick lap of the waters surface. Finding nothing the alien dived below, schools of fish scurried away from his green flesh as Piyano searched along the ponds bottom, at only twenty feet in depth the Namekian only had to surface for air every couple of minutes or so.
During his time at the bottom of the pond Piyano brushed aside sand, stones, and even crabs as he rummaged for some clue as to Sparkles location. It was on Piyano's fourth dive that the man finally found something of interest. Clutching the object in his palm Piyano swam to the surface for a better look at his treasure. Breaking the water and sucking in a lungful of sweet air Piyano rose out of the liquid into the air and flew over to his stacked clothes. Examining the item while he air dried in the sun Piyano came to discover he had found a spent capsule sold out of Satan City. Luckily the store that sold the item had stamped its address on the outer shell.
When he felt sufficiently dry Piyano redressed himself and flew off for the larger city in the east. It was a slim lead but Piyano had little else to go on. The flight took another half hour before Piyano arrived in Satan City, the sheer vast difference in size between Satan and East city almost killed Piyano's hopes of ever finding this duck as it would take the man weeks to search the whole city. Left without other options Piyano flew to the address stamped onto the capsule, fully expecting his search to be over.
Piyano could not have been more surprised when he spoke with the shop owner, a middle aged man who told Piyano a tale about a duck that danced and tossed glitter into the air. The store owner had found the duck by a pond in the eastern planes and had brought the strange animal home with him. When Piyano asked to see the duck however the owner shook his head sadly for the owner had traded the impressive water fowl to another man in the city only a hour ago. The owner gifted Piyano with a new set of directions though, and so Piyano was off to meet his next witness.
Across town Piyano met with a angry woman in her mid-thirties on the front stoop of her home. The woman wore the attire of a chef and even had a few knives tucked into the apron at her waist. The female chef admitted to having Sparkle, or the dancing duck as she called him and was fully intent on roasting the poor bird for dinner. "Miss are you sure I can not trade or buy the duck from you?" Piyano asked for the fourth time in their conversation. Piyano had told his story for wishing to retrieve Sparkles, but the woman seemed unwilling to budge on the matter. "Now I told you already you green stud. I'm going to eat this bird and there is nothing you can do to convince me otherwise." the woman said angrily, she was clearly growing tired of the conversation as well.
A heavy sigh escaped Piyano's lips as he admitted to himself that the woman could not be convinced. A brief thought of knocking the woman unconscious crossed his thoughts, but Piyano let the impulse pass. He would not harm a human for a duck. Preparing to turn away and inform the duck king Karl of his friends fate a loud bang sounded from within the house. Both the Chef and Piyano turned towards the doorway as a mans voice shouted from within the small suburban home. "Sally! The duck slipped free of its cage! Help me! I-I-I can't see nothing! He spat some kind of glitter in my eyes!" So unexpected was the screams that both Piyano and Sally the Chef just dropped their jaws without reacting to the odd cries for help.
A crash sounded to Piyano's left, and he turned just in time to see a colorful feathered duck smash through the houses large front window. Sparkles squawked with intense fear as it picked itself out of the glass and started wattling for the street at the edge of the lawn. "OH MY HOUSE!" Sally screamed in outrage as she drew a knife from her apron and ran after Sparkles.
Sally had reacted first, but the woman could not contend with Piyano's speed, nor could the woman fly. The Namekian sprinted as fast as he could, easily out passing Sally and snatching Sparkles up off the ground. Duck tucked tightly under his arm Piyano flew as fast as he could away from the chef womans home. Looking back he saw the woman had thrown several knives after him, but they had down little more than sink into the lawn of Sally's neighbor.
The hour flight back to East City left Piyano covered in glitter and feathers from Sparkles struggles to escape. The fierce duck even bit him a few times. Eventually however Piyano descended back into the street that had started his quest. Karl the Duck King sat sadly upon his box, no longer calling for aid in finding his friend Sparkles. Defeat was etched all over the old timers face, but his emotions quickly exploded into happiness when his eyes found Piyano landing before him. Piyano let the duck free from his grasp and watched as Karl and Sparkle both hugged and began to dance in the street. It had been a long, strange day for Piyano, but the gleeful scene taking place before his eyes made everything worth it to the Namekian in the end.
