Including herself, all but two were ones who lived with her in the mansion, and this particular two had been the reason she was here in the first place. She was hoping to actually be able to spend time with these two before the matches had started, but as usual, they had wandered off on their own. Perhaps that had been the catalyst in her finding that the rest of her party had also gone and wandered off, while she had stood in line to sign up for the tournament, which she had been encouraged to join.
Upset? A majority were human, and those which she got to know in ways she just couldn't do with her allies. She was more annoyed, really. But this was just something to reprimand then for later. Big as this place was, she knew them well enough to likely see them around, as she looked for her own entertainment. Ayumi and Hana, the supernatural fanatics of her minions.
They would likely go and look at any nonhuman contestants or spectators, a bit too close for comfort. The brunette would be the one dragging the raven-haired girl around, and assuming she saw something disorderly, would use her hall monitor experience as an excuse to correct such behavior. Ridiculous and would involve unnecessary attention, but useful in gathering information.
Mayu and Asuka, the more conservative duo among her minions, would likely focus on the games. The kind that crowds would flock to, if you were particularly good at it. She knew the latter was more likely to be the one to lead which games they should play, and even giving a chance for the former to give it a try. Encouragement and teamwork that could win the hearts of the crowd watching.
It contrasted her own morals, but whatever had helped them adjust to the fact serving her wasn't horrible. Then there was her own cousin, Yui, who had to be the simplest one among the humans she knew. And this was said in a more positive light than it would usually indicate. The red-head would likely find a guy that she was attracted to, and work her way into procuring free stuff.
Behavior which she wouldn't at all argue with. Her cousin, after all, was the one who helped get her used to acting superior. There was a softer side that the red-head only showed to few, but it was well buried, and not at all likely to break, even among the most tense situations. A side that she respected, and made her realize becoming a Vampire was a choice that she took upon herself. A change that even though her cousin had helped influence, was an opportunity that could have been easily declined.
The things and people she had around her now, were only because she had been the one to put in the work for it. What she had would only continue to grow as well, with the right opportunities, and the time. Whether or not this tournament would help, it was too early to say. She was only thankful that her allies, who were told to prioritize keeping her regular servants safe, would be around while she was busy. An event like this, had too much potential exposure to have them just stay at the mansion until it was over.
So many people were around, both humans, and groups she hadn't seen before. Yet, pulling out the supposed dragon radar that she had bought only just awhile ago, no one around seemed to have the artifacts that she was looking for. The stories and rumors that came in regards to this device, were no longer something she would really be dismissive of. Not since meeting that Namekian, months back. While she doubted she had been told of everything, there had to have been enough truth about what she had been told.
Populated places like this, she had figured while getting ready to travel here, would be a great place to test out such a device. But the radar was blank, even after playing with the other buttons, which seemed to switch to a different screen, if its transitions meant anything. This was supposed to be the 'deluxe' version as well, which she didn't hesitate to grab.
Nothing but a disappointment, currently, but it wasn't anything she would give up on. Switching the device off, and pocketing it, she wandered around the area that had been set up for the tournament. Food trucks and entertainment galore, which she expected no less from an event that could attract such a crowd. There was no destination she really had in mind, and beyond grabbing just a single item for herself, she would most likely just scope out the faces in the crowd herself. Possibly even see her minions.
Though as she did walk around, noticing certain groups who were clearly familiar with each other, she thought about another pinkette that she knew. For the most part, she considered the girl to be apart of her social circle. The reason why she had told her about the tournament, shortly after finding out about it herself. She expected to see the girl around here somewhere.
With how most of her party lived with her, and being enough of a handful, she thought it was best to travel there separately. Nearly everyone that had came with her right now, excluding her cousin and allies, had some kind of duo relationship going on.
Her servants already somewhat tended to remind her of her humanity, but the pinkette, perhaps even more. There were qualities the girl had, which none of those living with her, could really match up to, without some kind of condition involved.
Like how her cousin often liked to talk about her own problems, and they would only get to hers after a long while. Part of that was her fault, both for having an air of superiority, and typically being known to solve the problem of others, but it wouldn't keep her from silently loathing this path. A decision that she was still trying to balance out, though it took caution.
The troubles that came with leading, were certainly a handful.
Two hundred and forty four, that was the number of Namekians that had left planet Namek to attend the tournament taking place upon Earth. Most came to watch, observe, spectate and any other acronym there was for vacationing to the small blue planet with the thought of witnessing a grand spectacle that only took place every few years. The event was even farther apart in Namekian eyes, as five years for a human equated to fifteen years under a Namekian calendar. The mob of green men had arrived due to invitation by their human brothers, as Earth had not only granted the Namekians audience at a modest price, but had also provided the dozen or so large spacecraft that had carried Piyano's people through space.
Namekian's possessed space travel means of their own, but nothing as large and accommodating as the great fleet that had embarked from New Namek. Piyano and his companions, as well as the other hundreds of Namekians had enjoyed a wonderful cruise through the stars until the ships had made port upon the modest island which housed the World Martial Arts Tournament. So while hundreds of other Namekians moved to purchase tickets or find seats, Piyano and his three companions instead found the registration line. None of Piyano's friends would be competing in the contest themselves, Sprout simply to simple to understand a fight with rules. Piper uninterested in 'combat without definitive purpose' as she phrased it, and Nitei simply wishing to see a new planet beyond Namek or the mysterious realm of Makaii. Conversing with his three friends and advisers Piyano recalled to memory the strange events that had lead too the three coming together. Each had their quirks and faults, but so did Piyano himself and he found he was quite pleased to name the Saibamen, Makaii Ooze, and Slithris as family, especially since the three had been formally recognized and accepted into his tribe.
The foursome received many strange and even frightened looks from tournament goers, likely because Piyano knew his group to be on the stranger side of customary for most Earthlings to understand. A Namekian was rare on Earth these days, but far from unheard of. A tame Saibamen would raise a brow or two, but in the end it was Piper and Nitei who truly stole the spotlight. Off of her home world Slithris were almost never seen upon other planets and Pipers large snake-like lower half did a great job of instantly grabbing attention from others. Piyano had requested that the woman transform into her 'legged' form, but Piper had only pouted at him and said no, to proud to hide who she was. As much as it would have made things easier for the group Piyano had to respect the woman's will power. Nitei on the other hand was a little different, on a quick glance the blue woman may have appeared as a oddly colored Majin. Any observation beyond the cursory however would instantly prove such a assumption to be false. In her solidified form Nitei appeared as if a ice sculpture of a beautiful human woman, or one that had been melting for several minutes anyway. Yet the ooze woman flowed along in step with her friends, turning just as many heads as Piper.
Finally reaching the registration line Piyano watched how his friends handled being a spectacle in their own right, Sprout seemed oblivious to it all as he munched upon a almost comically large lollipop he had managed to convince Piyano to buy at a vendors stall. The grey-black Saibaman gnawed furiously at it's sugary treat, something that amazed Piyano as the Namekian was certain Sprout could consume the candy in a single huge bite, but the strange creature was content to slowly enjoy itself. Nitei was actively taking just as much interest in seeing other people as others where taking in seeing her. The ooze woman had once been trapped in a magic vase for nearly a thousand years and she was very interested in seeing just how much the universe had changed in her time away.
With two of his friends enjoying themselves Piyano was left with Piper, the pink haired snake woman slithered abnormally close to Piyano's side as the group waited in line, and her eyes shifted from person to person whom passed her by. If Piyano remembered correctly Piper had once described her race as highly xenophobic, normally the Namekian thought nothing of it as Piper had adjusted to Namek quite quickly. Being upon a strange new world however seemed to be throwing the Slithris for a loop and fraying her nerves to no end. Noticing Piper was fidgeting with her hair as she watched a group of humans stare at her, Piyano placed a hand upon the woman's shoulder. His gentle contact turned Piper towards him, her red eyes appearing fraught with stress. "Calm down little sister. These people are surprised by you but they mean you no harm. They likely could not harm you even if they wished too." Piyano said hoping to bring comfort, as well as subtly reminding the woman that she was a warrior. "Once we have registered myself in the tournament we can find a private room if you wish. Though I hope you will walk with us some more, if the crowd becomes to much you can simply change your form. Your kind looks very human with legs, none of them will even notice you than." Piyano added with a tilt of his head towards Nitei, the ooze woman had stretched her neck to peek over the line, and at two feet of additional height the blue woman was catching many eyes.
"Thank you Piyano, I will be fine though. I will walk upon this world my own way." Piper replied, though the look upon her features were drastically calmer after Piyano had showed his concerns. The Namekian could only smile and give Piper a soft squeeze on her shoulder as she turned back towards the crowd, she even managed to wave to a pair of younger looking teens. After several minutes the line began moving as the registration process had finally begun. With the line finally moving Piyano decided to reach out with his senses and get a feel for those looking to sign up and fight, most of the power he could feel in this area was minimal, except for one particular person up ahead of him. Not only was the energy he was sensing quite high, but it felt in some way familiar. Leaning out to the side of the line Piyano glanced up and down until he noticed a brunette messing with some gadget as she moved through a crowd not too far away, feeling confident the young woman was the source of the power he sensed it took several moments before Piyano recognized the woman. "Rukia Date?" he said aloud in puzzlement, than again in a louder voice to grab the attention of a woman who had once shown him kindness and taken him in out of the cold. "LADY RUKIA!"
Out of everything that was set up for the tournament, the number of food trucks and other vendors, exceeded that of what games could be found. With all of this walking around, as well as waiting for things to start, it was the way to go for attracting consumers. More so than games, which although could entertain boredom, wasn't anything compared to relieving hunger.
She wasn't surprised at all to see her two friends from her personal life, at one of these food vendors, with a nonchalant wave given to her, after being spotted. A text had followed after, questioning if she was done, and that it must have been rough.
Reading it, she found her cheeks tinging pink. Such phrasing, she had long since learned was completely intentional. That was the thing about her two friends, beyond their shared appetite. The blonde, who ran for track, and often would rather ride her bike, was the one to kick off asking something suggestive. While the pinkette would follow it up, if given the chance to do so.
Though it was usually when ending the conversation. Responding with clear indication that she was thankful she had gotten to registration relatively early, she left them with an okay at continuing at their leisure, while she attended to other affairs.
It would take work, but she had confidence she could find her own entertainment. The response was a request to be told everything when she was done, which even without looking at the duo directly, she knew it had came from the pinkette, rather than the blonde.
This was suggestive, but in a more innocent way. Less direct compared to the blonde too. Her phone was slipped away as they gave one last wave, towards what appeared to be another food vendor. If those two ran out of funds before the day ends, they were mostly on their own. She smiled, briefly, before her expression changed into surprise, after hearing her name being called.
Though she wouldn't say it had been in a formal way. The title that had came with her name, was rather personal, and yet to be something that she had established, outside of a few. Hearing it however, she still couldn't help but be pleased.
There was just something about having a title that could imply royalty or wealth in today's society, that brought her such a sense of accomplishment. A recognition that she had the kind of power that could end all the fun that people had around here.
Turning to the source of the voice, and scanning over the crowd that was behind her, she saw a familiar face, who no doubt had been the one to call her attention. That face of his was practically unforgettable, with how they had both left off last time they met.
To be rejected and not get what she wanted, wasn't something that often happened with her kind of care. In fact, the last notable incident before this one, was that Nekomajin she had met, who was simply just too childish to recruit to her cause.
But she had high hopes, seeing as how her first two allies were recruited with different approaches, and her last wasn't an exception either. It was a mistake on her part to believe the life of someone who essentially a nomad, could be limited to her own boundaries. A mistake which she had taken great care in not making again, and was also one she said to herself she would correct.
It hadn't been said outright, but the next time she had seen the man, things weren't supposed to end on friendly terms. Assuming he was here to register for the tournament as well, it still wouldn't. Though she still wanted to catch up and see where he's been.
Her expression was kept unreadable, as she dashed over in a way that surprised the people around her. Many of their untrained eyes saw nothing but blurs, when all she had done was quickly move from one spot to another. Slow enough to leave behind afterimages, for those who had paid attention. That call of his attracted stares, but it was nothing that went over the mass of crowds.
"There are better methods to get my attention...Especially if you're with company."
The line for registration, was hardly anything she would actually call a line. An event this big that could draw such a crowd, needed to squish in together, side by side, lest they wanted to block a view of a certain vendor or game booth.
It was only a guess, but scanning her eyes over those who were around him, she saw creatures she had yet to get knowledge of. One ugly thing, and two who were essentially young women. Far from being the crowd she'd imagine she would find himself with.
"It also would have been more fortunate to have gotten earlier, though I see you must have been busy."
The ugly one had to have been from space. It was too alien to have not been. Her most recent ally, a Suppidoan, had a similar sclera. She wouldn't have been surprised at all if the lizard knew what it was, but paying attention to the alien wasn't a decision that she was eager to do. Not if she wanted to go and listen to him chatter on, in the kind of tone she wouldn't approve of.
Standing here to the side of the line, it was only the pressure that she exuded herself, with the kind of power she hadn't bother to hide, that kept those who passed by her away. You didn't need to really know how to sense energy, to really feel tension.
One particular from her at someone who could only imagine getting to this level, would be enough to make the average human hightail it out of there. A decision that was far from foolish, if they really knew exactly what could have come from doing otherwise.
She was far from being the strongest around, however, unfortunate as that was.
People around Piyano jumped and turned heads as the Namekian held his hands around the sides of his mouth and called out for Rukia. Nearly everyone within earshot of his voice swung in place to see what the commotion was about, but most returned to their own distractions once they realized it was just a alien calling out to a friend or a old acquaintance. Beside him Piyano felt more than saw Piper and Nitei turn towards him as well, the pair of women now gazing out to the youthful Rukia who looked their way in response to Piyano's call. Only Sprout seemed to fail in noticing Piyano's cry as he was far to enraptured with his candied sweets to care.
Watching as Rukia utilized simple yet effective flash steps and afterimage techniques to cross the boundaries of crowds, lines, and other mass amounts of human bodies traveling too and fro across the vending grounds; Piyano could only nod his head in delight as the girl flaunted abilities she had not possessed during their last encounter. Such a display could be seen as overly cocky by some, but Rukia's features were unreadable to him as she cleared the last throng of civilians to come before Piyano and his friends and the Namekian made no attempts to label Rukia, he knew her to be a confusing and difficult woman to judge.
Remembering back to their last encounter Piyano recalled than that Rukia may not be as pleased to see him as he was to see her. During Piyano's short stay inside the woman's manor they had discussed many things, in the end however most of their talks came down to sources of power. Rukia was a woman who sought strength and prestige for herself, Piyano sought strength for the benefit of others. They had remained civil and respectful towards each other, but the longer Piyano had spent by the young woman's side that night the more he had learned about her. Life was not so black and white for Piyano to dub the woman as evil, in fact he believed Rukia Date to be far from evil in her soul, but the girl was no doubt selfish in nature. She hunted wealth and knowledge for reason known only to her, but Piyano honestly believed her reasons were for her own betterment.
It was for this reason that when last the pair had met Rukia had invited Piyano to stay within her walls. She had never said anything about Piyano serving her, but the Namekian had witnessed first hand the woman's relationships with the others she housed within her walls and Piyano had believed than that to stay would be to never truly leave. Such a life was not for Piyano, he had been a nomadic wonderer than; living off the land and bounty of nature that Earth so readily provided. Of more importance however had been the knowledge that Piyano had always intended to return to his home world of Namek, he could spend his days as a servant Piyano knew, but as a servant to the masses. Not a servant to one.
When Rukia arrived the vampire could only explain that Piyano should get her attention in a less broadcasting manner next time, to which the Namekian could only chuckle. People staring meant nothing to him as he viewed outside perspectives as unimportant overall. "I suppose you are not wrong, I do not possess many means beyond the spoken word I'm afraid." Piyano replied with mirth in his voice, he knew humans and Earthlings loved their phones and scouters, but it was quite rare to see a Namekian with such a device. Rukia seemed to scout out the hoard of people that awaited in line with him and his companions, before she turned her gaze to his companions themselves. The vampire quickly glanced past Sprout to settle momentarily upon Piper and Nitei. Piyano could only assume Rukia found Sprout displeasing, not a hard guess as peoples opinions on the Saibamen were often divided. Half of everyone found him adorable, the other half wanted to throw upon when they looked at him.
"I came with a contracted crew, sadly therefore our arrival could not have occurred any faster. You know me though, not one to complain at a little waiting." Piyano said as he shifted in place to look down the line. It was admittedly uncomfortable to be so tightly packed together into the crowd, but the line was moving along steadily at least and Piyano found that to be a hopeful sign. "My apologies however for forgetting my manners. These with me are my family, Nitei, Piper, and Sprout." Piyano said turning back to the conversation at hand and introducing his three fellow tribesmen. Nitei smiled and waved in her own liquidy way, Piper nodded and coiled her tail beneath herself to sit down... or bow in the fashion of her species. Piyano still had trouble telling the difference sometimes. Sprout meanwhile never even looked Rukia's way, only caring enough to shout in glee upon hearing it's given name. "GWAHhehe!" the Saibamen shrieked before chomping it's jaws upon the side of it's lollipop.
During his introductions Piyano noticed that the crowds of people always remained a certain distance from Rukia, and from the mass of power she was putting forth it was no surprise to the Namekian to see people actively avoid crossing the woman's path. Keenly able to sense power readings even without a scouter Piyano was amazed at the young woman's growth. Rukia was easily still his better in strength, at least while he wore his weighted armor to restrict himself. What surprised Piyano more was the woman's blatant display of power for all to see, yes many humans could not sense power, but many fighting in the tourney surely could. Piyano couldn't decide if Rukia was attempting to scare off the competition or if she simply didn't care that people saw her strength. His own approach was vastly different, wearing armor and suppressing his strength to keep his abilities a surprise to those he may fight.
In the end Piyano could only shrug at their different approaches, realizing asking the woman why she displayed her power would be akin to asking why she styled her hair a certain way. Sometimes a persons actions were just a reflection of their inner self. "I can only assume you are competing this year? I await your fight with anticipation. I am curious to see what other magics and abilities you have mastered."
Her line of thinking was more along the lines of his party holding his spot, as one possible method for garnering her attention. The rest, as he seemed to have hinted, were earthly communications, that it seemed those he was with didn't have either.
But it was good to at least be aware of what he didn't have. Many of those who came here to earth, weren't exactly the type she would say were aware of how to adapt. The proof in that, was her recollection of her Saiyan servant, recognizing this planet as Planet Dirt. A name that was appropriate beyond its geography, since other planets were likely well more adverse in technology.
Hardly anything she would say was insulting, as the inhabitants of a planet's capabilities, would be the real deciding factor in determining worth. And from what she could get out of the younger girl, they had defended against Saiyan invasions for decades.
For the planet to continue holding such a title, it goes to show the kind of history it had from those with space. She wouldn't exactly say they were on bad terms, since society wasn't in chaos now, but rather something to be cautious of.
"I meant more like your company holding your spot, but it's good to hear you're aware."
As the line moved forward, and he began to explain his reasons for still being in line now, her gaze turned to those around her. Regardless of whether or not people avoided her way, it was a habit to look around, before starting to walk somewhere.
Especially if you were planning on continuing a conversation. And as she did, she happened to notice another duo that she had came here with. Ayumi seemed to be taking it upon herself to direct the traffic that she was warding off with her strength, using what she could only assume was a rolled up map. Anyone trying to question the brunette, would be referred to by the girl's armband.
Standing a couple feet away, and the one who noticed her presence, was Hana, who looked at her as if she wanted this to stop. But so long as the affairs didn't disrupt her, she couldn't care less what they did. She had already turned back to face the Namekian when he had gone and finished his explanation, referring back to the first time they had met. He was very accurate.
Such patience was a virtue, but she was the type to offer her own input on matters, where she saw was fitting. What they had talked about back then, there had been lots of potential. Though she understood how much info a person was comfortable of sharing.
The whole wish granting thing, and how it worked, at least for his planet, wasn't knowledge she would say was easy to procure. He likely had hesitation in doing so, and just wait until he had found out about this supposed dragon radar she had bought.
"I've faced similar trials with my own party. About six more since the last, with two guests. They're all around here somewhere."
She turned back around again to gesture her point, and although it wasn't said outright, her gaze back to her servants, should have been enough to imply that they were hers. The duo looked like they were just about finished, and it was only at her glance, did the brunette seemed to notice her presence, giving a wave. That look in her eye held the interest of a reporter in them.
With what a fanatic the girl was, she had no doubts this talk was something the girl would pry about later. One which the raven-haired of the duo would be forced to tag along with as well. She gave a wave that was more dismissive, which the brunette only smiled at, shrugging, before pulling the other girl somewhere else. The contrasts between the two were so obvious.
Ayumi just clearly had the energy and drive, which the other girl just lacked. She was already looking back at the man, as he started addressing something else she had brought up, describing those that were with him as part of his family.
Not at all a surprise, but still interesting. The three that he had introduced gave their own introductions, each one interesting, though the last one had gotten her attention the most. Just how much intelligence did this creature possess exactly?
It seemed to at least be properly trained to be in civilization like this. The others seemed to have enough reason to them, with the one being composed of liquid somewhat reminding her of her Majin servant, although didn't seem like she was a fighter.
If she had to guess, the snake was likely the one out of the three who had enough reasoning to last in a fight. Like the Drider she had met a couple of months back, that slithery body had to have been good for something. Something she wanted to confirm.
"Do any of them fight? I'd assume Piper would be the most efficient if so."
She gave the three another glance, in what was pretty much an inspection. The only things she could see holding anyone back from defending themselves, was the unwillingness to do so. Some kind of mental block brought up by an event in the past.
That sort of thing wasn't at all easy to overcome, and if it was one of her own that would suffer such a drawback, they would truly learn to either be rid of it, or face death. Now that she had most of the minions she wanted, there was no place for delays.
"By encouragement of family and friends, rather than choice. I've been to the Saiyan Outpost on the Southern Islands, and know full well even at my best, I'm still nowhere near the strength needed for such decimation."
The surge of power that she would best describe was pumping through her body, and the euphoria that came along with it, was enough to bring what could be said was a malicious grin, as she knew her eyes were slitted and became red in this form as well.
It was a slight difference from her more monstrous form, but there was a tell that she had managed to figure out between the two. This was a brief demonstration however to prove her point, and both her fangs, along with appearance had went back to normal.
"A bit of a preview of my displeasure, and the kind of destruction you can imagine was left there."
She had gone and explained. Her mood was a lot more heightened than it had been only just moments before, which could be seen on her expression, as she gazed a bit behind past the man, having noticed that a portion of them had gone and left.
Whatever had kept anyone who could possibly waste her time away, the better. She wasn't naive enough to believe that there likely wouldn't be at least a few around who were nothing more than bravado. The proof was those who had just cared to leave.
"So while I expect to get past the preliminaries, the rounds that come after, it's difficult to say."
Humiliating as it would be to lose straight after passing preliminaries, whoever was good enough to beat her, would certainly be someone she could observe. If it hadn't been for her own participation actually, she would have been more of a spectator.
After the tourney, she planned on continuing to recruit a mix of both minions and servants. It was not yet time to go for the title of Capsule Corp President, but she was sure close to achieving it. She just needed more finances before she was able to.
"If you're willing, do tell of your plans after this whole event finishes. I'm willing to admit I'll be focusing on gaining legal power, if you were concerned about my demonstration."
Piyano crossed his eyes and brought his left palm up too lightly smack at his forehead as Rukia gave a very simple response. The Namekian could have very easily asked his three friends to hold his place in line, allowing him to cross the distance to Rukia himself instead of shouting to catch her attention. Looking back on events now the tall green man could only hope his actions wouldn't be seen as rude by either Rukia, or any of the people surrounding them. The last thing Piyano wished to become was a disturber of the peace upon a planet not his own. Especially on Earth, a planet he loved and respected due to his travels on the blue world not so long ago.
"Once again you prove just how quickly your mind eclipses my own Ms. Date. In the future I'll have to remember that." Piyano said with just a bit of flattery as the line moved forward and Piyano's group shifted with it. When the Namekian had first met Rukia the man had lived a mostly cloistered life. Raised as a scribe and a priest of his people Piyano had been ill prepared for a person as complex as Rukia Date. Between the events of his travels on Earth and the more recent happenings on planet Namek however Piyano had learned a few tricks about socializing he had remained in the dark of back than. One trick, flattery will get you everything. As Piyano's group moved so too did Rukia, who walked beside them.
The woman's off put of energy kept civilians out of her path, yet even so the youthful woman turned her head to check before walking. Some humanities were harder to drop than others it seemed. The vampire's gaze seemed to linger upon two teenage girls for a moment; one directing foot traffic around the brunette. This girl was not a officer of the law, but she seemed to take great joy in the manual actions and labor of policing. A second teen stood by her side, she just really looked as if she wished the first girl would stop. Rukia turned to Piyano than and described her own group. To realize that Rukia no traveled with a fully committed group of eight, and two more as her guests, Piyano nearly dropped his jaw. Apparently the woman's wealth and influence had grown substantially since they had last met. Rukia than indicated the two girl's directing traffic, one of which waved to the young vampire.
"That is such a large group. I am both impressed and happy for you Ms. Date. Mostly because the influence of so many friends must be a great experience for the lot of you." Piyano said as he watched the two teens for a moment longer. Piyano doubted Rukia saw the girls as family, not like Piyano did with his friends. For so many to willingly follow the vampire however? Perhaps Rukia had calmed down her display of controlling nature that Piyano had witnessed the woman use to motivate her Saiyan and Majin friend so long ago. Piyano introduced his own friends than in turn.
Knowing Rukia to be a person quite interested in meeting exotic peoples, that had been how the pair had met after all. Piyano watched as his companions introduced themselves in some manner or another. Rukia seemed quite interested in Nitei and Piper, it wasn't until Sprout shrieked that the vampire gave him any mind. Piyano couldn't even begin to guess what Rukia thought of the Saibamen, she could think him childish? Or damaged mentally, or even suspect that it was a creature which hide it's true nature and intelligence. Unless the vampire voiced her opinion however Piyano knew he would never know, Rukia simply was a master of having a unreadable face when she wished too. Rukia seemed the most interested in Piper though, and so when she asked about their fighting status it was no surprise she pegged Piper as the true combatant of the trio.
"All of them are in a way. Nitei still needs time for recovery and chose to stay out of the tournament. Little Sprout, he honestly seems to hate fighting. Yet he remains the single most powerful of his kind I have ever met. Piper however... well she can tell." Piyano said and turned to give Piper a look. Rukia wouldn't be able to see his face at this angle, but Piyano made no demands of Piper. He simply raised his brow to ask in silence if the Slithris would be willing to speak. "My people would call me by the term 'Yserithriss' .....I believe in your language it translates to Fencing Witch." Piper said rather shyly before turning her coils in a way that shifted her upper body a little away from them. The woman's xenophobia was still struggling with the large crowd that surrounded her.
The conversation turned than, Rukia was indeed competing. Though Piyano was less pleased to learn the woman was comparing her strength to the destroyed remains of the southern Saiyan outpost. The Namekian didn't wish for Rukia to seek power simply for the hopes of destruction, he didn't wish such thoughts upon anyone he met. Suddenly the woman's already high power exploded forth! Piyano struggled to read the sudden heightened strength Ruika put on display than as her eyes stilted and shifted to a dark, blood red. It was a magnificent jump in ability Piyano forced to believe the woman had maxed her power well over ten times her previous amount. It was a mystical transformation Piyano guessed, similar in manner to his own power enhanced form... but far greater in power.
Rukia's trump card was over as suddenly as it occurred, her fangs retreated and she returned to the youthful faced girl she had always been before. Piyano tried hard not to think on the displeasure and destruction Rukia hinted at, but her great power painted a very clear picture for the Namekian nonetheless. "I no longer think I have too imagine." Piyano replied as he noticed the look Rukia shot behind him. Turning himself to see what the commotion was Piyano was shocked to see that well over a third of the line had simply exited with Rukia's display, glory seekers, cowards, and those who simply knew they were outclassed having fled the line with downtrodden glances. It was actually sad to see so many people drop out in that moment, but it also meant the line got much shorter.
Leading his group down the line Piyano could now see the registration tables and he felt certain that he would be able to sign in with the passing of but a few more minutes. Rukia than confessed that she was not certain if she would get passed the later rounds of the tournament. Piyano himself felt much the same way, confident he would win his first match, and than completely in the dark from there. He had a pretty heavy feeling about one thing however. "With power such as yours I am sure will will make it deep into the ranks of fighters. Should we happen to match up I fear the winner would already be predetermined." Piyano said, after Rukia's display of strength it was all he could manage. It was almost as if the pair were back in Rukia's manner, when she outclassed him so heavily that Piyano survived only by her will to allow him life.
Rukia asked him than, of his future plans and goals, and Piyano found himself surprised to hear the young woman speak of gaining legal power. "I never would have guessed you to seek the law. Thought clearly you demonstrate a true gift for dealing with others." Piyano stated, referring to the woman's many companions and followers. "Honestly I have recently taken up a position with my people back on planet Namek. My position is temporarily being guided by a council until I return after the tourney." Piyano said truthfully, though he avoided naming his position. Several Namekians had not been pleased Piyano had left the planet after all and had only allowed him to do so under the promise that he not out himself as Guru.
That was what had came from seeing the Namekian's reaction to her response. It had been a simple suggestion, yes, but his gesture was rather appropriate for it. The realization one got from having missed such a simple thing, would not only serve to prepare for any future incidents, but also perhaps give way for practice in thinking differently as well. She had hoped so anyway.
It was too simple to really hold him against for, especially knowing the kind of stress that traveling could put on the mind, though making a habit of overlooking things, wouldn't do any good. Though she wouldn't care to openly address it, she already found it astounding he had managed to come this far, perspective of the world seemingly still intact since the last time she saw him.
The outlook she knew of him to have, was rather easy to persuade if you were smart about it. A bit of respect shown, or reason really, would be enough to have conversation leading to where you were looking to take things in.
It helped to also be considerate enough to give the other person a choice, or start it off by admitting what wouldn't be a loss. An exchange of information she had already proven she could get, although unlike the crowd she was thinking of, it wasn't something she would immediately attack the person for. Maybe a few warning shots at the ground, but why ruin the chance of procuring more?
The future wasn't something which many were able to live and see unfold. Those who did like her, should know it to be unknown and unwritten. While she wouldn't hesitate in killing if she had to, reasoning dictated there was always a chance those she manipulated, could serve some kind of future use she just couldn't see right now. Though it should not be mistaken for pity.
A person's worth were determined by their actions, and those who fell beneath her, got to that position for a reason. Events of circumstances that how she treated them, or vice versa, had been something that was built up enough for it to be deserving.
"Preparation would do some good, yes."
While she couldn't exactly say for sure just how much, there was a chance that during his match, he would possibly have an opportunity that would pave the way to victory. But he needed to be able to see it first, to even start that path.
Having invited many different groups of species into her mansion, she had been introduced to enough fighting styles, to know that there were only two distinct groups. They were also rather simple ones too. Those who used ki, and those who didn't.
What she learned was that those who used ki meant to hurt, but either did it in long-range, or close-range combat. While those who didn't, tended to focus on close combat, where they would aim for spots like the face, using limbs that might put them at a disadvantage. Both groups though, from her own observations, usually lacked in speed, which her own had exceeded.
Observations that she felt didn't need to be shared. While she wanted to face off against him, for masses of crowds to see, her confidence about what happened after preliminaries, wasn't ideal. It was also best not to give advice to something unknown.
He likely already had some adventures of his own, which taught him a few things against different opponents. These companions of his after all, weren't the typical sort to find in a certain city, like two of her allies had been. It was by chance. Fate.
"Beyond my cousin, who disciplines them, they're mostly just help. The kind that stays in the mansion to cook and clean."
These people she had taken in, had accepted abandoning their lives, yes. Something which the man might say was unfortunate, if she had brought it to light, and not explain their history. But what they were to her, were merely the staff she had envisioned having for so long. A sort that could be disposed of if discipline couldn't get through to them, and simply replaced by someone better.
To call them something as close as friends, she completely disagreed with. They were around to serve her, and chose to stay for whatever reason they had. Things she didn't need to really hear, knowing having them around, already touched her human side.
"Though I agree recruiting them has brought insight that required more preparation."
Ayumi came to mind the most, knowing the kind of presence she exerted, just because she was the only other Vampire of the group. The other duo just had different morals than her own, which needed to slowly curve away from. Things that would happen with time.
Though she was confident that if the need for it had came about, she wouldn't have to really struggle to get them to listen to her demands. Danger, and the unknowns that came with it, could get an army to listen to someone less experienced, but had a plan.
Unlikely as that scenario usually was in media, it would be reality for her. She had the power and the capability to do so. Maybe not entirely everything she wanted just yet, but she was pretty close into establishing the army she dreamed of having.
"If not for my own wanting to see my strength, I would have the best of them compete."
As conversation turned to the capabilities of his companions, the man had implied the girl made of liquid suffered some injury of sorts, while the snake had revealed what was so special about her. Some kind of style that was compared to fencing and witches. The girl was a shy one from what she could tell, which more than explained just why she likely wasn't competing.
One of her own servants was similar, though much meeker. The kind to hide behind her friend's back, and would rather whisper what she had to say, than really do so herself. So the snake girl was already a step above someone who was under her control.
"Would you care to explain how it works? He should be well aware I have interests in gaining insight."
Though the name of the art alone gave enough creativity to imagine, she'd rather hear facts than wonder just how it worked. An explanation alone would suffice enough, since she doubted the snake would really be up into giving a demonstration.
If she had to really guess beforehand however, she would go with the assumption that it would involve the snake half. Such control over a limb that could be rather agile if put to use correctly, would definitely overcome lesser opponents not prepared.
Her demonstration of what the Saiyan Outpost was like now, wasn't meant to be more than a better image of what she had meant. But she was aware that it also revealed what would essentially be her trump card. Something she wasn't afraid of revealing.
Especially after having noticed that wannabes who thought they could somehow compete with the best, had gone and left because of it. She only smiled at the Namekian's answer to her question, not really in a mocking way, but more of an agreement they were on the same page. The line had gotten shorter with her display, and so she had moved on as well, repeating her habit of looking about.
She didn't see the two, and had already turned back by the time they walked by, but she could hear their conversation. Asuka was praising Mayu, as the red-head had apparently won something on her own, without the help of the brunette's encouragement.
Though she had attributed her success to scriptures she had memorized and repeated during the attempts, admitting that she could have passed out, if it wasn't for the other girl. They didn't seem to have noticed her, and likely headed to the next game booth.
Out of all the servants she had, those two were likely the most difficult to train. Both came from conservative families, and while they had aspirations for becoming Vampires themselves, it was clearly their own morals that added a mental block to progress.
Though if her cousin could teach her ways she had put into practice since turning into one herself, then the girl could get through to teaching those two as well. No matter how slowly things seemed like they were going right about now. Unfortunate as it was.
"While I would plan not to hold back in such a match, I will consider that entertaining the crowd is a priority."
These people didn't all come here for nothing. She might have thought most of them were weak and beneath her, but if she wanted to be in a position of power one day, then it would mean having someone to rule over. No matter how incompetent they actually were.
And commerce was what kept society stable. Without it and things like entertainment, there was always the chance for revolt against their current leader, and disaster that was just unnecessary, when it came to humans who could be tossed around like ragdolls.
"A position of power has always been my goal. There's nothing to rule without the people, and I intend on being Capsule Corp President."
It was already decided months back this was the path she would go to, seeing as how they only recently just got a new leader to replace the old one. A kitsune, who she wanted to get an audience with at one point, to discuss future endeavors.
Though it would certainly be sometime after settling into her own claim of power. But she just needed a few more minions before she would go for the attempt. The amount of power she wanted to establish, would help the current president take her seriously.
"I see. So you've managed to find transport back to your planet."
While she did have on her poker face with this reveal, on the inside, she was smiling at the opportunity she was seeing. It wasn't to come along, or ask directions there, but rather something that would serve more as a warning to keep in mind, when he went home.
As she took off her sling bag, while also looking at how close they were to the registration tables, she felt up for the dragon radar she had pocketed away just awhile before coming over to him. This would serve to remind him of what he declined.
"It seems that I should take my leave, and reconvene with my group. Though there's something I'd like for you to be aware of."
Pulling out the dragon radar, she had displayed it to him, tilting it from side to side, as if she meant to brag at something the man didn't have. Quite the opposite actually, since this is what the man's people had, which she currently did not.
"This is the famous dragon radar that can be found here on earth, in search of those artifacts you've mentioned before. One of the best, though it seems there's something wrong with the earth ones. Guess which ones I'll be checking on next?"

(Rukia practically left in a blur after the rhetorical question. If you want to give one last post, then I'd like PL for this thread. Otherwise, I can turn it in after I finish Sayako's app.)
It was a singular and unique moment for Piyano to see passed the placid and unreadable features of Rukia Date, so when her expression quickly hinted at some level of amusement in his plundering and admittance of her mental facilities over his own the Namekian was actually quite pleased himself. Admitting a mistake was never hard for a Namekian, especially one so minor as his own and to blunder his way passed the woman's mask of neutrality was well worth whatever followed. It wasn't long however before that mask was back in place, and Rukia became as unreadable as ever. Their conversation carried on than, and Piyano could only accept that the complicated Rukia would never fully reveal herself. One day the Namekian may witness her plans or her goals grow from seeds to full fruition, but the reasoning behind the why? The cause of the woman's drive would be forever foreign to Piyano, he and Rukia were simply too different from each other.
Preparation, it was the guiding advice Rukia could offer him than. Little did the woman know that Piyano came far better prepared than she could ever expect of him. Piyano's own adventures and life had hardened him to the ways of life. The Namekian maintained his hopes and his outlook on life, he still wished to live in a world of peace and equality. Too many had suffered, himself included for him to reasonably just expect that to happen however. Everything from criminals, to assassins, to monsters had fallen to Piyano as he climbed and paved his own path and he felt he could now truly see the universe for what it was. Scarred, the people and planets were hurting; living in pain. Piyano believed that pain could be healed one day, but not without great sacrifice.
Soon enough Rukia confirmed her friends to be little more than her servants. To hear the woman reject his wishes for her to have expanded her family and allow others close caused Piyano to feel a great sadness take hold of his heart. Not only did all these people give up their lives for Rukia, whatever their reasons may be, but to hear the way she described them. Rukia would toss any of them aside at a moments notice, Piyano had no cause to believe she would kill them or anything else so dark... but when their 'usefulness' ended she would discard them to the four winds. Piyano knew in his heart he could never simply abandon his people, friends, and family in such a way; and it turned his stomach just knowing Rukia could.
The vampire woman went on to describe how her recruitment of her staff had required preparation. It occurred to Piyano than that when the woman had tried to recruit himself long ago he had served as practice. Refusing the woman's offer had lead to her refining her approach and only that much more aided in her collection of ever growing fodder. When would enough be enough for Rukia Piyano was left wondering? Would she one day lead a army of thousands to march across the green lands of Earth? Would she one day sail flagships through space manned by expendable lives? The thoughts and questions running through Piyano's mind then were dark and he did not wish to ever know a answer to them.
Conversation turned to his companions, and Piyano was relieved to have Piper talk for him momentarily, as the Namekian had to clear the horrid thoughts that were running through his mind. Luckily Piper was dealing with her xenophobia enough to converse, but Piyano knew the woman would not display or discuss her full abilities. Piyano was happy about this, at the rate things were going to much interest shown to Piper by Rukia could be considered a dangerous thing. "It is a style based on the combination of speed and magic. Primarily reinforcement and projection magics." Piper answered, but seemingly unwilling to go into true depth. The 'Yserithriss' style of fighting was a staple of the Slithris people and apparently teaching too much of the style to another species was a death sentence on the woman's home world.
Between the ruins of the Saiyan outpost in the south, ruins Piyano had seen first hand, and Rukia's display of raw power Piyano understood everything Rukia was hinting at. Discussing how she would react during a match, how she would play to the crowd was a calming measure. It meant the woman would keep enough peace of mind to not slaughter anyone. Piyano had a different approach however, at least where Rukia was concerned. Should the Namekian ever come to blows with the vampire he would strike her down with his full power, mostly because she was too dangerous to allow the chance for her to overtake him. "A interesting tactic. I wish you luck." Piyano replied.
"Capsule Corp. President?" Piyano muttered as the line finally thinned enough for him to reach the reservation tables. Picking up a pen Piyano quickly scribbled down his mark for entry. "That is quite the goal. Though I agree it sounds like it would suit you." Piyano said turning his full attention back to Rukia. The Vampire stated more than asked, Piyano nodded to the young woman to confirm her statement. "Yes I returned to my home land some months ago. This grand tourney is the cause of my return." Piyano said with fond memories of his home.
Rukia seemed ready to take her leave than, but not before she got one final hit in. The vampire reached into a bag slung at her side and pulled forth a item Piyano had never seen before but that he had heard far too much about. A dragon radar, used for finding dragon balls. The woman explained that Earth's balls seemed to be out of commission, and so she was left with only one other place to go. With the threat hanging in the air Piyano watched as the woman took her leave, Piyano's normally friendly features taking a hard edge at the woman's departing back. On Namek the dragon balls were entrusted to the village elders, meaning for Rukia to find and gather them she would likely have to kill several Namekians.
If Piyano learned of her harming even one of his people, the Guru knew he would have to kill Rukia Date.
