Mount Paozu.
A rather scenic place filled with tall mountains and cliffs with many rivers and lakes passing through and around them. It certainly had a good enough view to have given an artist an aneurysm as they tried to immortalize ints beauty on their canvas, perhaps even have a musician sing a sonata about the beauty that this place exuded, or have a hunter go mad with greed at the many changes of a good game this place provided, that was of course if they could evade most of the rather dangerous species that roamed this place, like the dinosaurs, the killer fish, and even the random saber-toothed tiger or two.
But for one Cervez, Entity of Destruction in training, none of that mattered to him right now, as he had been training in a secluded yet with plenty of space location he had found in this biome from sunrise to almost sundown, the reason for his rather adamant training regimen was really simple.
He felt inadequate.
"How is it that other people's power keeps going up..." The Anubian wondered to himself, panting with effort as he had been training for the part of the day, though he didn't seem ready to call it quits just yet, "But mine just doesn't seem to go up at all?!" With a snarl of anger, the jackal humanoid punched a large rock beside him, squinting his eyes slightly as his fist made a clean hole through the boulder, sending up fragments of rock particles everywhere with some of it smacking against his body, though he barely paid any attention to the bug like stings it caused to him.
Sighing harshly under his breath, the purple furred jackal scrubbed a hand down the side of his face, the other still firmly planted forearm deep inside the rock. "It makes my blood boil. I'm supposed to be an Entity of Destruction, hundred of years ago I had the chance to walk among the other Gods of Destruction, be one of them and making sure the Balance remained..." But looking at himself now, the Anubian wanted to throw his head back and laugh his ass off at the absurdity of it all. "But how can I achieve that again, when I'm not strong enough to even destroy a planet!?" Cervez forcefully moved his 'trapped' arm away from the insides of the boulder, not even caring or concerned when it broke into pieces or that his knuckles were slightly torn and the skin was raw to the touch once it was out.
Considering the battles he had faced in the past, and the trials he had to undertake, this was nothing, this was merely an annoying sting from an insect that did not warrant his attention, besides it would heal over in a few minutes anyway.
Cervez snorted at the thought before spitting to the ground beside him, his shoulders rising up and down as he tried to regulate his breathing back to normal, he'd give himself this bit of a break to bitch and rest slightly before he came back to his training with gusto. "Feh. It doesn't matter. I'll break these chains that are holding me back. I just have to be determined."
Speaking of resuming his training again.
He stared upward at the largest peak that he could find in this place, a determined expression crossing his face as he had tried to climb it with most of his power suppressed to give him a bit of a challenge, with varying amount of success thus far. It was difficult because of the heavy weights that dragged him down immensely while his power was that of what you could find in a common human, and if one took notice of the many holes around on the floor they'd realize that it wasn't the first time that the jackal humanoid had fell down from a great height, only to start it all over again when he recovered.
His travels to become stronger had taken him to Mt. Paozu, days after his battle with one Miss Rukia, the young looking Vampiress in her Gravity Chamber, after enjoying a nice soiree with her after he was done sparring against her Majin vassal, though right now he didn't really want to think too much about that day.
While he couldn't really push himself to give much of a damn about this place, he stopped climbing at about a quarter of it to look at the scenery before him. Rolling his eyes heavenward, he had to begrudgingly admit that this rather quaint looking planet with its even stranger set of people had one thing going on for them: their planet was a beautiful work of art if you cared about something like that. Looking around by craning his neck, he spotted mountains and peaks as far as Cervez's eyes could see, sometimes intercepted by rivers and waterfalls here and there, not to mention the flora and fauna that resided in this biome.
Though, if he was honest with himself, he could really do without the annoying sounds of dinosaurs roaring in the distance, which made him groan in dismay and annoyance at the possibility of having to fight one, merely because it wouldn't offer him as much satisfaction as it would have done any other day. It was so annoying to escape these beasts time and again when he so much as put a foot out into the wilderness and crossed the path of one of these creatures going out on a hunt for prey.
It was even more so this time around because of the fact that he had been using these heavyweights when he had run all the way to this place from the Eastern Lands to start his training. He could easily count two encounters with a T-rex, three with a pack of Smilodons and one with a Pterodactyl.
Since he had purposely handicapped himself by lowering his battle power to pathetic levels, not to mention sluggish as hell with this weights applying an unbelievable pressure on his body, he had to make do with running away for his life. Raining Ki Blast down on them as he ran also helped in making them lose their tail on him. It offered a good workout all things considered, but it was still a hassle he could have sincerely done without, for Kai's sake.
Snarling at the thoughts, the Anubian focused once again on climbing this tall spire that reached towards the heavens with every ounce of determination he could muster.
"Grrr. How it is that they got so strong is what I wonder?!" Cervez exclaimed in another bout of frustration as he scaled a particularly rocky outcropping, nicking his hands with the jagged pieces of rocks and almost losing his balance in the process, he merely growled at the stinging pain and kept climbing up and up and up. "What drives them forward: Cornatto, Miss Rukia, and Suusao!? It is their past that drives them forward? It is their determination, or perhaps just their will to survive?! Do they crave power, or did they trained until they couldn't even stand?!" The Anubian muffled a yelp of surprise as the rock that he held onto shattered under his grip, the harsh Mistress that was Gravity taking a hold of him and sending him down, plummeting about fifty feet below before he crashed against another outcropping, the crash forcefully flipped him over, and he barely managed to extend a hand and grab the edge of it to stop his fall.
Hiding a pained grimace, the purple-eyed Jackal humanoid slowly regained his balance as he dangled about a hundred feet in the air, barely holding himself by one hand. 'That hit against my back was more powerful than I thought. It is a fucking wonder it didn't make me unconscious with how pitifully weak I am now.'
"Grrrr..." Refusing to be intimidated by his own self-deprecating thoughts, Cervez climbed without any complaint, it would only be a waste of air and a sign of weakness to him if he started to bawl his eyes out that he lost most of his progress.
And as he continued to climb upward, he continued his rant where he left off. "Do they have something precious they need to protect or someone that they want to kill with all their might?!" His mind pushed the form of that Saiyan Warrior he battled with so many years ago, Cornatto had said that he fought for his friends and that his determination pushed him forward, as it the same for the rest?
No it couldn't be, it was never that easy, and not everyone was the same, but could friendship be the way to reach ultimate power? Unwilling to believe that as so, he pushed on. "Have they reached some sort of spiritual enlightenment, or did they just get everything so easy, being born with such power?!" Another example of the latter were the Kold Demons, beings born with the rather annoying ability to ascend to greater bounds of power by simply changing their forms from one stage to the other. He gritted his sharp teeth, arms trembling strongly as the heavy weights around his arms, chest, and legs made it difficult for him to climb, not to mention just hanging on for dear life.
The Anubian closed his eyes, his body strained to its maximum as he forced himself to climb one foot at a time. "Gahh! Come on! You can do it, you stupid mutt!" With effort the male kept his ascension, right now he was about half of the way up to the peak, and his arms and legs were already feeling like they were made of jelly and ready to fall off at any moment. "What drives them forward. Darkness!? Or is it the Light?!" Superimposed on that thought, the images of Kais and Demons floated through his mind.
Another thought struck him just then, and the Anubian couldn't help voicing it aloud. "What are they even gonna do with all that power, are they gonna use it for the greater good, for self-gain, to protect those that they care about, or..." Cervez swallowed, his throat was completely dry and every breath he took through his nose were like small daggers tearing at the insides of his throat.
He did not want to say aloud what came next, but he could feel himself becoming angry at the mere thought, that feeling traveled through his veins and made him feel hot all over.
"Are they gonna use that power to become a God and challenge the King of All!?" He dared imagined that possibility, of some third class trash race in the galaxy, becoming 'Godly' with delusions of grandeur and actually having the nerve to head towards the palace of Zeno-Oh-sama and demand the throne for themselves.
The mere thought made an all encompassing unyielding rage fill his whole being as quickly as it brought a wave of cold fear that shivered down his back. "I... No..." He looked downward, shadows dancing across his face, obscuring his expression from being seeing if he was being spied by someone else. "I won't allow that..." He looked upward towards the top of the peak, his eyes flaring up with determination, the fact that it was a thing many beings tried multiple times in their lifetime was enough to disturb the Balance of everything, but to have that occur and then affect Zeno-Oh-sama as well in any way?
Using that thought as backup energy to push him, the Anubian no longer was now running on fumes, but instead, the blazing fires of anger, desperation, and resolve drove him forward, and as the energy overfilled his body it started to try and escape from his pores, and with a yell that quickly reaching a crescendo his form flared up with a toxic purple colored aura, his powers quickly reaching greater heights than it was before, almost enough to make this whole mountain burst into pieces!.
"Rrrrrrrggggggggrrrraaaaaaaahhhh!!!!" The newfound power drove his stamina and strength to new heights, and as it did so it awoke something else inside of him, something that he couldn't really describe but could name with one word.
Addiction.
He loved the power, coursing through his veins, giving him vigor and vitality. He felt like he could do everything, defeat anyone and stand before a mighty foe without a need to fear from them, like back when he broke into a cold sweat when his sight looked upon the Golden Warrior, the Legendary Super Saiyan that Cornatto had become when he had survived his ultimate attack.
He liked this feeling, he WANTED to experience more of this strange addiction, perhaps even do ANYTHING to feel like this all of the time.
Realizing where his thoughts were going, Cervez swiftly pushed them away, and instead smirked with confidence as he found no trouble at all to climb the peak of the highest mountain, and as he finally stood at the top of the world overlooking everyone and everything, the Jackal took a deep breath, his chest expanding with the air rushing inside before he let out the loudest, most reverberating howl that he could muster.
It was easily heard across from miles, the valley making sure it echoed nicely and was carried away by the winds so that everyone would hear it, and know that he was at the top of the world, and he couldn't be happier even if he tried. "THIS IS AWESOME!" Cervez cried out with barely restrained joy, jumping up and down and even letting out a few punches and kicks like he was battling an unseen enemy. "I love this! This power! Now no one can stand in my way, absolutely no—"
A sudden and unbelievable wave of power suddenly crashed down on him and the surrounding area, making him stagger slightly as he tried to stop his shaking legs from sending him about a thousand feet upon his death, relatively speaking. "What.. the fuck... was that?!" He looked up at the starry night sky, his eyes wide open and jaw almost to the ground. "W--what, what is..." Almost back to back, an even stronger wave of power applied pressure upon his shoulders, and Cervez fought with everything he had to remain standing up.
How could this be!? Were there actually people this strong in the Galaxy?! Was his... training all for nothing then? Why push himself forward when this level of might would just push him down and make him submit?
The sudden crash of power took everything when it left after a few minutes, the Anubian staring up in awe at the skies the whole while, and let him with nothing once it was over. So surprised he was by this development that he completely missed when a tear in time and space happened in the skies, the form of a sandy-furred wolf stepping out of the hole and floating there for a few moments before they came crashing down... right towards them!
"O-Oi! Look out!" Too little too late, the warning didn't do much of anything to warn the falling wolf as they crashed on him, making him take multiple steps backwards as he braced himself against about two hundred and fifty pounds of muscular wolfman, unfortunately, the Anubian's foot stepped wrongly upon a rock behind him, and try as he might he couldn't muster the necessary strength to stop what was about to happen as he began to fall backwards. "Uh oh." He could feel his feet leaving the ground, how the wind caressed his fur and ruffled his clothes as he began to fall from a great height, the humanoid wolf still tangled upon his person as they also tried to disentangle himself to no avail.
His eyes looked at the full moon that shone above in the starry skies, the clouds painting the heavens slowly drifting away without a care in the world. He felt his body curl up on itself as he counted the impending crash that was almost at hand.
There was a loud boom, like thunder, that echoed for miles as his body and this total stranger crashed to the ground. The local wildlife that had been watching the Anubian's training ran away as the earth crumbled and tore apart at the seams, and in the middle of a giant crater laid Cervez, with the wolf humanoid draped half over him and half off him, the stranger blinking his eyes many times as he tried to regain his bearings.
Feeling almost detached, Cervez slowly turned his head to stare at the being before him, an eyeridge slowly pulling upward as the absurdity of it all finally registered in his mind. "Are you okay?" He felt proud that his voice sounded even and collected, not as shaky as a leaf like he was before at the top of the world when those two powerful energy signatures threw his world for a loop.
The stranger growled under his breath, a hand cradling the side of his head, feeling a pounding headache split his temples at the seams but he plowed through the pain and answered the Jackal's question. "Y-Yeah, I am fine." Finally standing up from his position on top of the Anubian, the Demon Wolf brushed the dirt off his clothes and fur before giving a hand to the downed canine. "How about you? That was some fall."
"I've been through worse," Accepting the offered hand, Cervez used the leverage it provided to stand up tall, noticing briefly that his height barely reached the wolf's shoulders, and with the way the Demon Wolf stood with a bit of a hunch to his stance made it seem like he could get taller, though he was certainly wide horizontally, double Cervez's size in fact. "What are you anyway? I know that the Zoans that I've seen cannot do that thing you just did," For if they could literally rend the laws of time and space apart, it was clear that the humans weren't as weak as he had thought them to be.
The Wolf tilted his head to the side, looking like an overgrown puppy. "I'm a Demon, and I come from the Demon World, the name's Samael," Finally a name to put to that face, it was starting to irk the Anubian needing to call Samael a Wolf every time he addressed him in his mind.
He gave Samael a brief once over, his eyeridge raising once again. With the way Samael was dressed, Cervez could have been fooled to think that the Demon could have passed for a sub-breed of an Anubian, he certainly looked the part with his clothing. "I just... wanted out of the Demon World, and then here I was. Now, who or what are you, anyway?" Shooting the question back at him, Cervez hid a smirk that wanted to bloom on his face.
"I am Cervez, an Anubian and an Entity of Destruction..." Trailing off, a frown pulled at Cervez's lips. "In training," Because that's what he was at the moment, and the sooner he accepted that fact and stopped agonizing over his current predicament, the better of he would be in the future.
For his part, Samael blinked in astonishment that he was standing in front of what could be considered a God among his kin, or at least to those that liked to destroy and swiftly bent his knee so he didn't so much as loom over the Anubian in front of him as he was doing before. "It's a pleasure to stand before you, Lord Cervez," If Cervez's brow arched any higher, it was bound to leave his face and ascend to the skies. "Forgive me for my insolence earlier, please, let me make it up to you."
He couldn't help it, a chuckle bubbled from deep within his chest and up his throat, amused eyes staring down at the kneeling Demon before him. "And how would you go about making it up to me, Samael?" He figured that there wasn't any hurt by humoring the Demon, the worse that he could do was go and erect a burning effigy in his name and attract the attention of the goody two shoes that marred this planet.
"I could become your vassal and stand with you to ensure your future plans?" Samael said the first thing that came to mind, wich was to offer his loyalty and allegiance to him as a way of payment. He kneeled there, feeling a bead of sweat trail down the side of his furred face as is potential Lord hummed thoughtfully, still staring him down with a neutral expression upon his features.
"My vassal, you say?" Cervez turned around and began to walk away, only to stop and look back at the still kneeling Demon in the clearing. Rolling his eyes, he motioned for him to follow him. "Well then, chop chop! I don't have all night, I'm starving, and I could really get something to eat right now, you know?"
Blinking his eyes, Samael was quick to follow his Lord's order as he walked one foot behind him. "Please, let me catch an animal and cook it for you, my Lord, it's only fair since that is my job now." While certainly enthusiastic, at least it seemed that this Samael wasn't as zealot as some servants could become in the presence of their Master.
"Fine, fine, do as you must, just don't attract too much attention to yourself, will ya? The last thing we need is someone on our tail because we began to kill some mindless animals around here."
"Yes, my Lord!"
"And cut it out with the Lord crap! While I don't really mind it too much, you don't have to address me as so all the time. I want allies that I can count upon, not mindless sheep that cannot think for themselves. Are you a sheep, Samael?"
"N-No my Lord— I mean, Cervez...sama."
"Hmph. It's progress, I'll give you that much, now let's go! We're wasting moonlight..."

He felt proud that his voice sounded even and collected, not as shaky as a leaf like he was before at the top of the world when those two powerful energy signatures threw his world for a loop.
