Thread PL: 118,842 [Note to spectators: as this is a fight between Jie Shan and I, the two of us will post in quick succession, making we will break posting order. This will give you guys more to react too and you can post as leisurely as you want. If anyone intended to interfere with us at all, then we will start a paper posting order]
Komatsu sat patiently within the halls of the arena, arms folded and legs crossed as he kept his eyes closed. Today was the day he had trained his ass of for... the day he was finally going to prove himself to everyone that he wasn't a child, that he was a warrior just like the rest of them, better than most of them. He exhaled deeply as he focused solely on himself, emptying his mind of any negative thoughts or any self doubts that might interfere with his current fight.
It honestly felt like he had been training for months at a time while waiting for this battle to arrive... He'd never trained so hard in his life, and he really hoped that it would pay off. He knew that Jie Shan was stronger than him, that everyone was voting against him because of some hidden power the other saiyan posessed... but he didn't care, he'd push the thought out of his mind to stay focused.
Finally, the sound of an announcer began to blare through the arena, causing Komatsu to open his eyes almost lazily, looking towards the still sealed door he sat behind.
{{ WELCOME! Ladies and Gentlemen to the first match of the newly re-opened Arena! I hope you're all just as excited as I am to see this place open up once more! We're in for a SPECTACULAR fight! }}
The announcer started to speak, earning a wild cheer from the saiyans that had already started to pile into the arena, nearly fighting one another to try and get the 'best' seats.. To have an official match like this was definitely getting their warriors blood boiling!
{{ The arena was built and founded in Age 1565 by none other than Councillor Tomoroko! Isn't it great to see that legacy continue?! Today we will see the Komatsu, youngest son of our previous Overseer Natto, and brother to our current overseer Nasu, fight against a powerful warrior we all know! Son of Gai Lan Dian, Jia Shan Lan Dian!~ How is that for a mouthful!? }}
The announcer spoke, earning yet another cheer from the crowd. Even from Komatsu's spot behind the door, he could pick out certain comments being yelled out as they anxiously awaited to see the two fighters.
'There's no way a brat's going to beat Captain Jie Shan!'
'Too easy! One way battle!'
'Hope the Overseer doesn't care about his brother too much! He'll be a punching bag!'
One voice stuck out to Komatsu though, and it wasn't coming from the stands. His grandmother Kyuri walked up from the waiting room to the hallway that would lead out to the arena as soon as the gates opened.
"Kick his ass Komatsu. I'm not supposed to pick sides technically, but I'm rooting for you. I bet your brother and uncle want to see you succeed..." Kyuri started to speak but Komatsu pushed himself up to his feet, raising a hand to get her to stop.
"I'm fine. Thanks for your support grandma but I can do this, it doesn't matter who does or doesn't root for me." He assured her, earning a smirk from the saiyaness who just laughed and slapped him on the shoulder.
"Two days makes a hell of a difference Komatsu. Give him hell." She said before she would walk back out to leave Komatsu alone. The boy now stood in front of the closed gates, closing his eyes once more as he took in a deep breath.
'Once the fight starts... I'll have to be fast' komatsu thought to himself as he could jsut barely hear the voice of the announcer now.
{{So what the hell are we waiting for!? Let's get these gates open and watch those fists fly!}}
With that said, the gates gave a loud THUNK before they would slowly start to open. Komatsu stayed still, not moving until the gates had stopped, building up quite a bit of suspense before Komatsu opened his eyes and stepped forward into the light of the arena.
Komatsu had chosen to forgo his armor altogether for this fight. What he needed most was his speed, and even being weighed down by regular armor would hinder him, and so what he wore was rather plain. A pair of white pants that would allow freedom of movement, leather armor guards for his thighs that wouldn't provide too much protection but it was better than nothing. He wore brown leather gloves on both hands, and a single shoulder paldron on his right shoulder. His messy hair was also pushed back by a headband so that it didn't get in his way.
He didn't look to the crowd as he stepped out, there was no point to that. His opponent would be coming out of the gate opposite to him, and his eyes were trained on where Jie would be coming out.

The day of the reopening of the Arena had finally arrived. And to make it’s reopening even more epic, the members of the Saiyan Alliance would be gifted with a battle for a sit in the Council of the planet, a battle between two Captains of the Alliance, and people couldn’t be more excited. From soldiers to citizens, pretty much every person on the planet was looking forward this day and the tickets to witness such an epic clash of titans were sold out within hours. The arena was absolutely full with over one hundred and twenty people there. Most of them were cheering for Jie Shan Lan Dian, since he was most well-known and a seasoned warrior of the Alliance for the past years, while the other Captain, Komatsu, although the son of the previous Overseer, was still a kid and had been missing for the past years, so he was pretty much a newcomer.
Nasu arrived at the Arena a few minutes before they opened the fighters gates and he sit on the privileged spot reserved for the Overseer. At his side there was Miso and Karota, the two other councilors of the Saiyan Alliance. Kyuri was missing, but Nasu immediately deduced she was with Komatsu, helping him prepare for the upcoming battle. Nasu complimented his fellow comrades. – Uncle, Karota. – he said in a rather polite tone. Miso chuckled as usual, folding his arms and crossing his legs in his chair. – I’ve bet quite a lot of cash in Jie Shan! I hope he doesn’t make me lose my money! Heh! – the tall saiyan General said, chuckling a bit more. Karota, who was sitting by his side poked him with her elbow and giggled a bit. – You are the worse! He is your nephew, you asshole! Hihi! – she said, but Miso only shrugged. – Still, he is inexperienced! Heh! – but, as soon as he spoke, Nasu sit on his chair and spoke without looking back. – If you underestimate Koma, you might regret it, uncle. He has been training really hard. I think we might get surprised. – Nasu said, to Miso’s surprise. Karota just chuckled with his words.
– What?! You think Komatsu will win now?! – Miso asked, with a quite serious expression on his face, as he thought of the possibility of losing his money. Nasu shrugged. – I still think Jie Shan has the odds in his favor, but I’m not so sure on the winner anymore, that’s what I’m saying. – Nasu answered and, before Miso could speak again, Karota spoke too. – This is a battle between saiyans, the outcome will, ultimately, always be a mystery. They are both within the power requirement too… - she pointed out and Nasu nodded in agreement, silencing Miso, who got all tensed up.
The battle was about to start, and they were both way too even in both power level and fighting skill.

about Jie Shan Lan Dian
"Quotes are a waste of time. Actions speak louder than words."
Jie Shan sat in the hall opposite of where his foe was now standing. His heart was beating like mad, though the excitement did not show on his face. Discipline, he told himself. He had to have discipline. He could feel the other captain’s presence. And it made him even more excited. The two of them were just about equal in power. Good, he told himself, that would mean the fight would be more fun. The blood was rushing through his veins now, that sanguine cocktail of Saiyan and Elemi genes. It was his battle senses kicking in, that steady crawl of adrenaline prepping him for the coming battle. It was almost time. He just needed to make a few more preperations…
Jie Shan was not wearing his weighted armor today. No, he needed all the power he could get. Handicaps would not work in his favor. He needed all his strength, all his speed… It would be good to fight unhindered again. It had been awhile. Not even in his brawls with the Overseer had he used his full power. But the Overseer’s brother would not get the same easy fight. Jie Shan was going to fight seriously. And it was almost time…
Suddenly, Jie Shan was aware of three approaching ki signatures. A small, sincere smile came to his face. So, he thought, his family was coming to wish him luck. It was only a second longer before the trio stepped around the corner, Jie Shan turning to face them just as they rounded it. It was his old squad, here to see him off to one more battle.
“Guys,” he said, his voice as steady as he could make it, “What’s all this?”
“Well, Captain,” said Cornel, his voice gruff and familiar, “We thought that we’d come and give you our support. Once a squadmate, always a squadmate, in my opinion. And besides, I feel almost personally invested in seeing you off.” Carota and Potana each nodded in turn. “Yeah,” exclaimed Carota, “You’re my buddy, Jie Shan! A drinking buddy, Hell, you’re a real friend! I couldn’t not come and see you! Now, can I ask you something? You’re treating us to drinks after this, right?”
Jie Shan smirked. Carota was assuming he’d survive his brawl with the Overseer’s brother, Captain Komatsu.
“What Carota is trying to say,” interjected Potana is, “We believe in you, Jie Shan. That Captain Komatsu… He might be the son of the old Overseer and the brother of the the new one, but you’re just as good as he is. I know you’re going to do great out there!”
“It’s true, Jie Shan,” added Cornel, “You’re strength is impressive. I can say without a doubt that you are one of the strongest people I have ever met. Not bad for a halfblood.”
Cornel snickered and reached out to slap Jie Shan on the shoulder. Even now, his old commander was still teasing him. Jie Shan playfully pushed his hand away and looked at each of his friends in-turn. “Guys,” he mumbled, “This means a lot. It really does.”
No one had ever done anything like this for him before. Such support… The young halfblood was unused to it. Maybe they really were his family after all.
“No problem, Jie Shan,” said Potana softly, “I’m sure you’d do the same for any of us.”
“Yeah!” Exclaimed Carota, “Though I don’t think I’d ever be fighting Captain Komatsu. You and him… Like, shit! You guys are on a way different level than me. If it were me out there, I’d tap out. Don’t get me wrong, I like a fight and all, but I’m not stupid.”
“Well,” sighed Cornel, “That’s debatable, Carota. Sometimes I think you’re pretty damn stupid. But you do have a point. Captain Komatsu is young, but incredibly powerful. I’d go as to far to say that he’s one of the handful of people on this planet who can fight Jie Shan. And the rest of the people in the handful are Super Saiyans.”
Super Saiyans, thought Jie Shan. How he wished to have that golden aura… It would certainly make this fight a lot more interesting. It was what he had been working towards, it was what all his training had been for. Not for this, no. This was just a happy accident for him. How lucky for him that he had happened to be around the same strength as his fellow captain for this fight.
“Man, Super Saiyans are something else,” muttered Potana, “Good thing you’re not fighting one of those.”
“Hey,” exclaimed Jie Shan, “I’ve already fought one of those! The Overseer certainly let me know how strong they were.”
“Heh,” chuckled Cornel, “Don’t get ahead of yourself. There’s always someone better.”
Jie Shan nodded. He knew that much. Humility was a lesson he had learned, and one that he had learned through pain. He was not going into this fight with a swelled head, though he was going to hold onto his pride. It was an integral part of his being.
“Yeah,” Jie Shan admitted, “You’re right, Cornel. I’ll keep that in mind.”
“Good,” said his friend with a grin, “Now, I think we have company.”
And suddenly Jie Shan was aware of two more familiar ki signatures. And one of them turned his face sour. It was, as he soon saw, his father, Gai Lan Dian, and Rudieri.
“Father,” he said stiffly, before turning his gaze back on Rudieri, his voice turning soft, “Rudieri.”
“Son,” said his father, his voice deep. His father turned his gaze on Cornel. “Cornel,” his father added.
“Gai,” said Cornel with a curt nod, “What brings you here?”
“Why, I’ve come to see my son, of course,” explained Gai Lan Dian, “It is a big day for us- I mean, him-, after all.”
“Ah, your son. Well, I suppose he is of your blood, yes,” sighed Cornel.
“What is that supposed to mean, Cornel?” Asked his father, his eyes narrowing. “Nothing at all. Forget I said anything,” groaned Cornel.
“Very well. Why don’t you and your squad leave us? I wish to speak with my son. In private,” he growled.
“Ah, I see. I suppose this should come as no surprise. It would not be the first time you butted into our squad’s business,” shot Cornel.
“Cornel,” growled his father, “Might I remind you that I outrank you.”
“Rank isn’t everything,” said Cornel flatly.
“Fine,” said his father, “Remember that time I saved your life? On Earth. Or is a life debt not good enough for you now?”
Jie Shan’s eyes widened. That was news to him. How had he never heard of this before? Especially given how many war stories his father told.
“Still bringing that up?” Demanded Cornel, “Fine. We’ll leave. Potana, Carota. We’re leaving. Jie Shan, good luck. We’ll be watching from the stands, friend.”
Cornel slapped him on the shoulder again, Carota shot him a thumb’s up, and Potana gave him a quick hug. Rudieri stared harshly at his friends, as if waiting for them to leave, willing them to leave. And finally, they did.
“Well,” said his father with a sigh, “Now that that’s taken care of, let’s talk, son.”
“Talk then,” said Jie Shan simply.
“Right to the point. Just like your mother,” said his father with a forlorn sigh, “But I just wanted to say how proud of you I am, son. You’re so… strong. Among the strongest people on this world. And maybe the world’s beyond. A fitting beginning to out legacy, though I’d prefer you were a Super Saiyan. But I’ve good news on that front. So, without further ado, Rudieri, would you please?”
Rudieri cleared her throat. “Well,” she began to explain, “I’ve been doing some research, crunching some numbers, and I’m pleased to say… I think you’re on the brink of becoming a Super Saiyan, Jie Shan. Like, really close. A hair’s breadth away really. You could push through at any time. Just… Gather all of your power and do it! Rage, humiliation, desperation! Anything! So… Make me proud! Make my work all worth it!”
Jie Shan grinned. Rudieri was so excited… It was infectious. It would be a better moment if his father were not here. Jie Shan managed a small thumb’s up. “You got it, Rudieri. Wish me luck, and keep an eye on what goes on out there.”
She smiled, and his father simply watched impatiently. “Well,” barked Gai Lan Dian, “What are you waiting for? Get going!”
And with that, Jie Shan nodded. He’d wasted enough time. He rushed down the hall, striding for the gates, his blade bouncing against his back. He was light on his feet, brisk even. Moving without his armor felt good. It was not long at all before he exited the hall and was now in the arena. He looked about him. The crowd, the lights… It was almost overwhelming. Were… Were people cheering for him? Jie Shan swallowed. Was he popular? He did not know.
Jie Shan looked across the way and saw a barechested young man. That, he realized, must be Captain Komatsu. The power was obvious. It had to be him. Why was he not wearing a shirt? Even Jie Shan was wearing a simple red gi.
“Captain Komatsu,” he shouted across the way, “I wish you good luck. I’ve been looking forward to this fight!”
Jie Shan bowed deeply, trying to convey respect. His heart was still pounding. Endurance, discipline, humility… Remember, he told himself, remember! His training had prepared him for this moment. It was time to prove that a halfblood could be just as fierce as one of fullblood.

Kyuri hadn't been gone long, after attempting to see if Komatsu had needed a quick pep talk, she was already on her way back to the stands, easily finding her seat along with Nasu, Miso and Karota.
"Karota, it's been far too long since you've been with us. Welcome back." She said with a broad smile on her face, having been much too busy with her own affairs to of have properly welcomes the half blooded saiyaness. She looked over at Miso and her smile turned into a smirk.
"Miso you're sweating. Getting worried your nephew's going to kic. Lan Dian's ass?" She said with a light chuckle as she finally sat down, looking over the edge towards Komatsu. He had been so confident when she had run into him, and he didn't seem to be very nervous about the fight at all.
"You know, the little brat we remember really has changed. Look at him down there, he's calm as any seasoned warrior would be in his situation." She said as her eyes moved from Komatsu to Jie Shan.
Whenever Jie Shan stepped out of the opposing gate, Komatsu had to raise an eyebrow at his opponents appearance. Jie wasn't at all what he was expecting! He knew that he was only half saiyan but still, he expected the regular black hair and bulkier frame. Not that it mattered at all, it was just a nice break from his own mind.
" Hah I've been looking forward to this as well. I apologize if my brother's the one who got you dragged into this, Captain. I'm looking forward to an intense fight." Komatsu said as a small smile crossed his lips. He would respectfully return Jie Shan's bow before the announcer's voice boomed over head again.
{{And there you have it! A great start to a truly honorable battle! Hold onto your tail's because here we GO!}}
The announcer called out cheerfully, getting yet another rise from the crowd.
As the announcer spoke, Komatsu let himself slip back into a fighting stance Jie Shan could easily recognize, that of the Soy School's. He would wait patiently, listening to the announcers words and as soon as he gave the signal to start, Komatsu's ki seemed to literally explode around him in a shower of crimson energy as he dashed forward. Hi ki began to waver and shift until they started to look like flames were engulfing his body. It would look like a crimson colored version of the Rebellion Spear. A strong start without a doubt, however even if Komatsu hit Jie Shan, he wasn't going to release his energy just yet.

– Who do you think will turn first, if it comes to that? – Nasu asked both Karota and Miso. The older saiyan just shrugged, as he was in no mood to talk now that he was concerned about losing his bet. Karota, on the other hand, touched her lips with both her index and middle fingers and, after a short while, spoke again. – I would say Komatsu. If it gets to that, if he can withstand the hybrid’s innate power for long enough… - she gave her opinion and Nasu respected it quite a lot, since Karota was a hybrid herself and had this crazy inner power too, although, since she was part earthling, she had less of this weird power up than Jie Shan who was part Elemi, an weird race of elementalists of some sort.
Before they could speak anything else, Jie Shan finally entered the arena. He wasn’t wearing his normal weighted clothes for the first time and Nasu narrowed his eyebrows the moment he saw him. He was feeling an immense power level, much stronger than he had anticipated and that made him grab his red advanced scouter, put it on his left ear and let it ready his power level. The reading wasn’t quite precise, as it didn’t seem to match a single reading for too long, exactly how it happened when his scouter tried to read Jarvis’ power level, back on Earth, but it managed to reach an impressive number of 233,314, with a minimum reading of 116,657, which made Nasu grit his teeth; he was, somehow, stronger than Nasu in his base form at least in some way. ”How the fuck is he so strong?!” he couldn’t help but ask himself. Then, Nasu stared back at Karota. – Are you feeling his power level?! – and when Nasu asked that, Miso pressed the button on his green scouter too and, almost immediately, he gritted his teeth too, with a drop of cold sweat running down his temple. – For fuck sake, Nasu! What sort of training were you doing with them?! Komatsu is really strong and Jie Shan… Damn! He is fucking unbelievable! – Miso said with his pride hurt by their power, especially Jie’s power.
Karota sighed, folding her arms and closing her emerald eyes. – His power level is nearly one hundred and twenty thousand, but his biology allows him to reach a higher mark when he goes on offensive. He can double his energy output while attacking, that’s why you are reading his power level like that and feeling an odd variation in his power. It’s something rather tricky, but some hybrids are known to have that. – she explained. Miso just got slightly more angered as he felt like his pride was about to be thrown to the garbage, but Nasu got intrigued. The Overseer touched his chin and stared back at Jie Shan. ”So that’s what it is. Interesting. Still… If he can’t double his power level during a transformed state, I have nothing to worry about. I’m far stronger anyway. Not that I distrust him, but, as a warrior who is bound to surpass Atsuko, I can’t let my soldier become stronger than me!” he thought to himself, feeling even more inclined to train harder and harder. ”Reminds me I’m really close to master the Wolf School…” he said, staring at Karota for a second with the corner of his black eyes.
After that, Kyuri got back to the place where the councilors were supposed to watch the fight. She greeted Karota first and she giggled, making a brief bow with her head to Kyuri. – Thank you, Kyuri. I’m glad to be back. It’s good to see things improving for once, not without a bit of stumbling here and there of course! – she said, teasing Nasu a bit, only to have the young Overseer to roll his eyes in his orbits. ”She won’t lose a chance…” he thought to himself in a mild annoyance. When she spoke to Miso, he just snorted and gazed away, with an angered expression. – If the brat makes me lose my money I will choke him with his silver hair! – he answered, making Karota giggle a bit more, only to have Miso explode at her. – Don’t you mock me, woman! – he roared, and that made Karota laugh out loud. – Then stop making a fool of yourself, darling! Hahahaha! – she said, teasing her mate only to have him growling in anger.
Her final comment was answered by Nasu. – He isn’t calm as a seasoned warrior. He had become a seasoned warrior. A true saiyan warrior. – and Nasu had a serious but honest tone in his voice, surprising both Miso and Karota with his words, but since he had been so serious, they didn’t make any comment about it.
And then the battle started and, as soon as the announcer called out, Komatsu began to charge a technique, making Nasu narrow his eyes. ”Rebellion Spear… He is already using that technique… I wonder if he knows what he is doing. Rebellion Spear is really taxing on the body.” he thought to himself, with his arms folded and a very alerted eyes; he wasn’t going to miss a single movement in that fight. ”May the best warrior win, I suppose…” he thought to himself.

The Hero had been running around the entire planet at high speed, he had no time to think of where he was going; there was something important that day. He had heard about it from some Saiyans and he couldn’t miss the show at any cost. “There will be a fight in the Arena between Jie Shan and that other guy! It’s going to be a great show.. How could I forget about it?!” - he said to himself, gritting his teeth as he glanced around quickly with a rather worried and.. not really friendly expression on his face.
He had totally forgot about it and he didn’t want to be late, he was looking forward to enjoy the show after all; he had also stopped by a merchant to grab something to eat and as a matter of fact, he was carrying it inside a bag.
He halted for a brief moment, stopping by a Saiyan who was just passing by. “H-hey.. Do you know where the Arena is?” - he asked.
The Saiyan looked at him curiously, extending his hand in the distance as he pointed out a direction.
The Hero nodded in appreciation and ran away, until he found himself next to the Arena. He took off and landed on top of it. He didn’t want to watch by the stands, so he decided to just sit on top of one’s sides and sit down.
He began taking out his meals while he watched the two down there. “Huh.. so that kid is Nasu’s brother. He doesn’t look that much like Natto though.. I suppose he’s more like his mother.” - he said to himself, blinking slowly.
“Jie Shan’s family sure has got long names.. I’d rather not take sides right now but hopefully Jie Shan is going to win.” - he muttered.

about Jie Shan Lan Dian
"Quotes are a waste of time. Actions speak louder than words."
Post by Jie Shan Lan Dian on Mar 15, 2016 18:31:07 GMT -5
"I've been looking forward to this as well, Captain," intoned Jie Shan, letting a small smile appear on his face. His blood... It was turning over wildly, like a sea in the midst of the storm. This was it. The moment he'd been waiting for. Still, he thought, it was surprising to meet Captain Komatsu for the first time. He'd expected the younger son of Natto and Tomoroko to be a smaller version of Nasu, both in appearance and personality. Well, he told himself, he'd still need to see about the attitude of his foe, but at least he seemed cordial, for first impressions. Hell, the young captain had even bowed. That was more than Jie Shan had expected.
The announcer called out and another wave of cheers sprang from the crowd. The energy that ran through them... It was like electricity, a defibrillator placed to Jie Shan's heart. They'd been anticipating this battle as much as he had been. No surprises there, he thought. They were Saiyans, just like him. Well, he reminded himself, half of him. In the spur of the moment, Jie Shan lifted his hand and gave the crowd a quick thumb's up before slipping into a fighting stance, just as Komatsu had done.
Briefly, Jie Shan's mind shot out, scanning the area for ki. His mind caught several familiar signatures. Nasu, Miso, and even... the Hero? Jie Shan smirked. So the Earthling had come to watch. Well, he told himself, he was going to give him a good show. Him and everybody else in the crowd.
A dance of light and ki burst from Komatsu. Impressive, thought Jie Shan, for a kid. And just as Jie Shan began to think that the boy was all bark and no bite, he dashed at Jie Shan in a familiar motion. The Rebellion Spear, realized Jie Shan. So the Overseer really had been training his brother. And it seemed the young captain was a quick learner. If he'd mastered the Rebellion Spear, Komatsu was at least on par with Jie Shan himself. The halfblood's hand twitched. He wanted to draw his sword and make the boy pay for rushing him in such a manner. But the Rebellion Spear... It was a powerful, forceful technique.
Well, thought Jie Shan, he could do it too. In fact, he was going to do it. Best to fight fire with fire, he told himself. Jie Shan jumped backwards to put some space between him and his foe. He squatted his body and began to channel his energy. A gray-blue aura began to form around him as his body prepped itself for the Rebellion Spear. And he wasn't going to go rush into it. No, he was going to let Komatsu close the distance. And Jie Shan would make use of the time, as small as it was: he was going to charge the power of his own Rebellion Spear, and let his raw, innate ki power do the talking for him. Just a little closer, thought Jie Shan, his body ready to spring forward at any moment.

"A little bit of stumbling is still a million times better than other recent experiences" Kyuri stated with a light smirk crossing her features. She couldn't see Nasu roll his eyes, but could only imagine he reacted to Karota's comment and simply smiled. It was nice to have him back too, too bad he wouldn't let her spoil him like Komatsu did. Her eyes then shifted bck to Miso and she couldn't help but laugh alongside Karota. She didn't say anything however instead just leaving the conversation at that. She had bet against Miso, putting her money on Komatsu, but she wouldn't tell any of them that. If he won, then she'd rub it in Miso's face later. If he lost, then miso would never have been the wiser!
'He's just going to stand there..? He knows the rebellion spear, what is he planning ...' Komatsu thought to himself as Jie Shan leaped back away from him and quickly began charging the exact same technique. Komatsu didn't have time to react to it verbally as he was moving far too fast. In no time at all, Komatsu was upon Jie Shan and he attempted to hit the older saiyan with as much force as he could muster using the Rebellion Spear!
Komatsu's feet would also start to glow with a Crimson energy as he prepared himself to get the hell out of the way. He could sense Jie Shan building up his own energy, and if it kept rising any higher then that, his Rebellion Spear would fall short. He needed to be ready to quickly counter whatever the hell Jie Shan was going to throw at him after the clash of the Soy School's techniques.

Karota giggled a bit with Kyuri’s answer to her previous comment and nodded. – Definitely, Kyuri! Definitely! Hihi. – she was known for hating Etorin too and she was another one of the few saiyans on Planet Natto capable of defeating him but, since he had took Tamari, her baby daughter as hostage, there was very little she could do about it. Miso, on the other hand, upon hearing Kyuri laughing too he barked at her in a quite moody tone. – Stop laughing too, old hag! I’m not gonna be made a fool of! Jie Shan is gonna kick the brat’s ass! Just wait and see! – he said in an angered tone. Nasu stared back at the trio with the corner of his eyes for a brief second and then back to the arena without uttering a word, he was far too concentrated in the battle between his two disciples and captains.
”Jie Shan is going to respond to Komatsu’s technique with the very same technique and they are both charging… Komatsu is at disadvantage right now. Jie Shan is capable of reaching a higher energy output! Even if they start a struggle, they have pretty much the same stamina. I know that much from training with both of them and, despite the abyss in power, they get tired at the same rate, much faster than me… Meaning… It’s still a loss to Komatsu.” he analyzed the situation without taking his eyes of them. Miso leaned forward to watch it better and chuckled a bit. – Heh! The two brats are going to use the same technique! That’s good… Jie will start humiliating the brat right now! – he said, chuckling a bit more, and then Karota elbowed his ribs, making him grunt angrily but stop at the glare of her emerald eyes. – Shut up, Miso! Blood is thicker than cash! Give your nephew some credit! He is younger and already this strong. – she said in a serious tone. Miso grumbled a bit, mostly to himself and folded his arms again, leaning towards the back of his chair as he watched the fight.
Then, Komatsu launched himself, with his body engulfed by the powerful energy of the Rebellion Spear. Nasu narrowed his eyes at this very moment, waiting for Jie Shan’s reaction. ”They are going to clash…” he predicted, as this was the most likely outcome of this initial move.

So, thought Jie Shan as he watched the young captain, it seemed that the boy would not be pulling out from his attack. Good, he told himself. He wanted to clash. He wanted to trade blows, swap power, test the boy's power. And it seemed that he would finally get the chance. His power had reached a new height. Not as high as he would have liked it, but certainly enough that he could push his advantage over the boy. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as the boy finally approached Jie Shan, and Jie Shan was ready for him.
In a flash, Jie Shan sprang forward, his own pale, grayish-blue attack meeting the boy's crimson power. Jie Shan grunted as the attack rocked him, but he kept pushing forward. Eventually, the blue-gray overcame the crimson and Jie Shan broke on through. He attempted to push the boy back with the force of his blow, and while he did not want to injure the boy too badly, he certainly wanted to make the teenager feel it. Still, he reminded himself, killing children was not his style.
As they finished their clash, Jie Shan tried to put space between. Regardless of how successful he was, he drew his blade in one single, quick motion and held it between them, gazing at Komatsu. Already, he was pouring ki in to his blade, preparing it for the coming battle. He shot the boy a quick, cocky grin and began to speak, "You're pretty good. You must be a natural to have caught me in the Soy Arts so quickly. But now I'm getting the steel out!"
Jie Shan's eyes traveled up his blade. Sharp, he told himself. Really sharp. If Jie Shan knew anything, it was how to treat a blade. "But," he continued, "I promise not to cut you up. At least not too badly."

Komatsu's ki went crashing into Jie Shan's own with extreme force. At first it seemed as if the energies would struggle against one another, but that moment quickly passed as Jie Shan's own Rebellion Spear broke through his own and slammed into him. Jie Shan's energy cut deeply into his chest, causing a sudden gush of blood as the young saiyan was knocked backwards with extreme force.
The young saiyan grit his teeth tightly as he was thrown back, focusing his energy into his hands and feet as they visibly glowed red. He forced himself back down onto the ground, where even then he continued to skid backwards, only slowing down as he neared the arena wall. Blood dripped from his open chest wound as Komatsu brought his hand up to it, finally pushing himself up straight as he glared back towards Jie Shan. He knew that the guy had more power available to him... but that had been ridiculous! He needed enough power to overcome his Rebellion Spear, and even then he had enough power left over to hit him this hard... That was one hell of a test of strength. If he didn't do it soon... he was going to lose.
His glare towards Jie died down as he removed his hand from his wound, a smirk crossing Komatsu's face. He watched as Jie Shan withdrew his sword and rolled his eyes.
"This is my family's fighting style,is it really such a surprise? But a sword... you really think you're going to beat me with that thing? You better not hold back, or I'll kill you." He warned Jie Shan as he took in a deep breath. He had an estimate of Jie Shan's power now, and knew what plan he needed to enact... he just needed it to happen sooner rather than later.
'I can't lose this... I forbid myself to lose this. I wasn't strong enough to do anything at the lookout, I couldn't beat that blue haired asshole but worst of all I couldn't protect Athren... I wasn't strong enough... I can't lose this time...' Komatsu kept repeating to himself as his eyes were trained on Jie Shan, his dark eyes seemed to dilate as he stared at him, almost as if he was a predator watching his prey. He slipped back into his Soy School fighting stance, though would carefully take a few steps to the left, circling Jie Shan.

The clash of powers began and quickly Jie Shan’s Rebellion Spear started gained the upper hand. Miso was also watching the scene and his smile widened and he chuckled. – Jie Shan is going to win this struggle! – he couldn’t even hide the happiness in his tone. – Komatsu is in trouble… The power output, like I said, is doubled. He will be seriously damaged after this one… - Karota commented, with serious concerns in her tone; she cared about Komatsu, although not as much as Nasu and Kyuri. She just didn’t want him to die because of a claim to the council. Komatsu was hit hard and thrown backwards with extreme force, but, luckily, he was still in one piece, and Nasu exhaled deeply. ”He is still on…” he thought to himself, watching the fight carefully.
Komatsu was bleeding now and Jie Shan getting a little more serious as he withdrew his sword from the scabbard. – Now he is getting serious! Heh! – Miso said, chuckling, but Nasu cut him short. – He isn’t. If he was, he would have already flared his dull yellow aura and Komatsu would be wrecked. – Nasu stated and Miso mused on his words. Karota nodded in agreement too, as she knew all too well about the power hidden inside the saiyan hybrids. Komatsu was still pretty confident for someone so injured, the kid had balls and quite a lot of pride and that was good, to a point, but he should better have a plan, or things were going to keep on going south to him.
What was about to happen from this point onward was a mystery none of the three members of the council up there could dream of predicting, but if there was one thing that could save Komatsu, that would be turning into a super saiyan.

Jie Shan smirked. "Really? You don't think I can do anything with this sword?" Asked Jie Shan, feigning shock, "Let me tell you something. This sword? It has defeated plenty of men. The Soy School might be your family's pride and joy, but the sword is my heritage. Well, at least half of it."
Jie Shan held the blade warily between them as the young captain's eyes narrowed and his foe began to circle him. Almost as if acting on raw instinct, Jie Shan began his own counter circle, slipping back into his own stance. It was the Soy School stance, but with enough of Jie Shan's own spin on it to accommodate the fact that he was now holding his jian.
And now that he held the blade, a whole world of options had opened up to him. As Jie Shan had quickly learned as a child, the jian was quite the varied weapon. The double edged blade had no single purposes or means of attack. Instead, it could slash, stab, and cut as well as anything. In the hands of an experience user, it was quite deadly. And while Jie Shan might not have developed it to the point of it being its own martial art, he was still an expert in swordplay.
Though he wasn't sure how much of an edge that might give him here. Though the boy seemed to have no qualms about killing Jie Shan, the halfblood certainly took issue with killing, or even maiming the boy. He'd have to be careful with his blade, lest he cause permanent damage. He'd hate to take a hand from the boy, and he was sure that it would do if no favors with the Overseer if he cut the tail of his brother from his backside.
Jie Shan was unsure of what to do next. If he wanted, he could end this fight in a moment. That power of his... If he reached for it, Komatsu would likely be overwhelmed. Jie Shan was almost half tempted... But no, he was going to be honorable about this. ONly if things got out of hand would he reach for that power. And, even then, he'd much prefer to hit the mark of Super Saiyan... Rudieri had said it was possible, but he just had to figure out how to push on through. Rage, he thought, would be nice right about now. A shame he could not work himself into the rage as needed.
"Well, Captain," said Jie Shan as he circled, watching the boy like a wolf, "I've got to say, you're certainly much more cautious than your older brother. By now, he might have thrown himself at me three or four times."
Jie Shan gave the boy a small grin and chuckled lightly, despite the tense air of the arena. "Though caution is a good thing. My mother once told me something along the lines of 'there are old people and there are bold people'. Though I suppose if I listened, we wouldn't be here right now."
Finally, Jie Shan made his move. Twisting his blade so that he was swinging with the flat of it, he jumped at Komatsu, aiming to bring the flat of the blade down on his head.

"Hmph" Was all Komatsu responded to Jie's statements about his sword. He didn't like using actual weaponry in a fight as he had been on the receiving end of it far too long. He thought of it like cheating in a sense... and the fact that Jie Shan fully planned on using one? Well he wasn't impressed with the situation in the slightest. Even if it was part of his hybrid heritage.
Then, When Jie compared him to Nasu, Komatsu's expression turned far more serious, perhaps even resembling Nasu in some ways.
"I'm not my brother. The Rebellion spear was a test of strength, one that I admittedly lost. But this caution? Nah. I'm buying myself some time." The young Captain said with a smirk now gracing his lips. His leg's moved forward to run at Jie once more, but as Jie Shan jumped at him, sword ready to smack onto his head, Komatsu crouched down at the last minute, sweeping his leg at Jie Shan's own in an attempt to trip him. Hit or miss, Komatsu would tumble roll behind Jie Shan and spring back up to his feet. He would bring his hands together in front of him, extending his index fingers and thumbs as he pointed the makeshift gun directly at Jie Shan's back.
"You want to fight with weapons? Fine." He began to charge up his Spear gun attack, the spear of energy appearing above his hands.

Damn it, thought Jie Shan to himself. He had missed. The blade cut harmlessly through the air as the younger captain tumbled harmlessly behind Jie Shan. The boy was pretty good at dodging, Jie Shan told himself, he had to admit to that much. He'd have to put a lot more power behind his attacks if he was going to get a hit on the boy.
But the boy wasn't going to give him much of a chance to continue his sword based assault. Jie Shan spun around just in time to see that Komatsu had begun to charge his own attack. Jie Shan's eyes flashed to the bright spear of energy that was now forming in the boy's hands. That, he thought to himself, did not look pleasant. He wasn't going to get struck by that, not if he had anything to say about it.
Jie Shan held the blade between them and began to channel energy into like mad. The blade sparked with ki-lightning. Power, he told himself, he needed more power. His entire mind was focused on charging more and more power into the blade, as rapidly he could. He needed it, or else his life would get a whole lot more painful in the coming moments.
"That's the spirit, Captain!" He cried, "Give me all you've got! I would love a challenge!"
Jie Shan's eyes were trained on the spear of energy, his hands practically shaking. Any second now, he reminded himself, the young captain might strike. And he'd response as quick as lightning, and he'd hit as hard too.
