Three. The fall of East City was a tragic time for those who were refugees, and adamant about remaining there. But what difficulty and struggles they faced, was nothing short but an example of how incompetent the new earth queen really was, if West City had continued to be the one remaining city standing.
No one but the woman and what spies she could have really had, were barred from approaching her or any of her interests. If there were really rumors going around in East about them being restricted from coming here, as evident by some rumors she already heard about her presence, then their suffering was no more than their own fault. A weak excuse for that blonde to have control over her supportive refugees, and manipulate their hate for the Saiyans.
And in the end of it all, what was it, did that girl get out of things? It had to be a front of some sort, to go and claim that title, and know that she didn't deserve it. She had been so adamant to die by her hand on that day, it couldn't be anything short but laughable, having her remain alive day after day. Restraint was the thing she had the most as a Vampire, only caring less about humanity, the more that she and the others had grown in power.
For her to kill an earthling these days, it would be under an act of war. There wouldn't be any earthling alive that wasn't truly within her interests. To believe that
she had been forced into a position she didn't like, was nothing but a delusion. She was
willingly adhering to legal regulations, for as much as it suited her, and if there were really to be some public outcry against her, why bother keeping up the pretenses she wasn’t
better than a human?
The blonde was left in the dark about her true goals, just like anyone else who wasn't affiliated with her, and even then, they were basic enough that it wouldn't have been a loss. That so called queen could keep making assumptions that she was working with the demons, however true it might be, but there was nothing she couldn't disprove. The demons running their own mouths, would only mean their own deaths, which would carry some irony here.
Two of the Demon King's subordinates, she had prevented the death of, which meant she was owed two favors. They had came to an agreement about an arranged meeting with the Demon Queen, which never happened, and with how the woman's presence was unfamiliar beyond memories, she only had a spike of power to rely on. Day after day waiting for a figure of importance to arrive, but by no means was she dependent. No progress on what was supposed to come, only meant one reason there wouldn't be any mercy, if things had come down to it. Two favors that went unpaid, were nothing more than the lives of two best demons.
There was no loss, only trying her patience. Even something as that Demon Queen rejecting the invitation because of status, would have been better off than the mere belief that she'd keep waiting. Allowing them to attack West City as they had done so far, was a third favor that they had owed her.
Six.But what exactly did they accomplish so far, doing that? Delphi was far away from the city and somewhere else, rather than by Seid's side, like the two had been back in East City. That demon mage, and who knows how many others, were unaccountable presences she knew not of, but still failed to remain a threat.
The two that she had desired to see dead just as well, were still breathing. She had allowed them to attack the city, and they just weren't putting it to use the way that she had envisioned. How much worth did they really had, if they were going to be so incompetent? Her interests should have been a priority, and killing the new queen of earth, would have been a great start into gaining the control they wanted. These would be heroes were nothing but moths to a flame. Even now, she could hardly feel anything terrifying building up by one of those individuals, which should have been favorable to the demons.
So what was the issue here? Their kind might have tended to play with their food, but a timed ki blast should have been enough to end both lives, and carry on with the weaker fighters. Her role in this agreement between her and the Demon King, had been under the condition that his best subordinates would live.
Amidst this war, and the presences she wasn't aware of, they just seemed so eager to try her patience. The demon mage clearly needed to be retrained, if he was going to spout out all of that nonsense, and the obvious, about how mortals took things for granted. Seid had said something similar, but he had a qualifying position to excuse it. There was just no other comparison for a lowly demon to do the same, and a mistake, if he truly believed she wouldn't kill him for it, whether later or in the future. The chance that he could still kill the inexperienced male Saiyan, was the reason she would continue to wait.
But there was only so much annoyances that could go by, that she would allow. The demons had their potential in that she'd be able to manipulate or come into an agreement with them, to kill who she had wanted. Outside of that, they were worth nothing to her. A demon's life only had their values changed when they gained influence, and even then, idiocy wasn't enough to excuse what she could do herself. Her patience had always really been tested, really.
From the start of her becoming a Fledgling, and having to ward off her appetite for blood, to becoming a Countess, then Matriarch. New responsibilities had opened up, and her view of humanity only deadening. Threats against her, became so much more laughable, and it really did become a question of how easily she was likely able to accomplish something herself. The blonde halfling back on Namek, had been her motivation to restrain herself even further.
Nine.Somehow, coming to Namek had gone from her wanting to tease the Namekian she knew, about finding the planet's dragonballs, to her challenging the Guru. An action that couldn't really be helped, when knowing that one seemed to be so incompetent and uninterested in claiming what was essentially a leadership role. There were excuses from the elders, but ultimately it had been that inexperienced male Saiyan and the blonde halfling that had gotten her ire.
They both shared the qualities she so despised, being so incapable of grasping the ideas that should have been simple. Around those willing to listen and wasn't a waste of time telling to, there was never really a day that had gone by, where she didn't mock either of those two, to someone else.
She could have easily convoluted the story into making the Saiyan male out to be a drunk, and the blonde to be a bimbo, in revenge for their idiocy. It wouldn't have been that far off from the truth either, knowing the male had gone against an elder's reassurance, and started just raging at her.
While that blonde halfling could practically only prevent another Caesar using her body, then with power, seeing how afraid the girl was, that someone who wasn't a Saiyan or halfling could be strong. It was the idea that the blonde saw herself as some savior, that would forever make her mark the girl as an idiot. So much time to think as a Vampire when around humans, and the world dulling away, that she could truly say she would bet the value of a soul that swordsman had barely gained any power since they had last met. There was really no place for anyone so dumb to be alive, and she wished the girl could die.
But it was that idea, that conviction, that she could ever be like that man. She hadn't really known him back then, only ever hearing about how many he caused fear to, but after coming across him herself and seeing his memories, it was just a wonder what kind of delusions people really had about her.
Centuries could pass, and that man would have still likely failed to move on from the past, like she had recommended him to. More than anything, he had take on some other form, as if changing his appearance would rid of the fact that there would be no difference between him. Time and time again, he had gotten to a point in life where he was so strong, he could easily look over the weak. Influence the tide of a battle and what could possibly come, without finding some kind of attachment to what was going on. All those doubts that could arise, about whether or not his actions were right. If he could truly be judged.
They were caught up dramas that she wouldn't have batted an eye against, because she could hardly care for the idea of leaning towards the side of one. He so easily had the power to act within his own interests, but what did
he, someone with power above others, did with it beyond making himself be feared? Bring himself into the kind of unnecessary doubts, as if someone of that power couldn't create their own entertainment, without troubling others.
Twelve. In the end, she supposed it didn't matter what worth the demons really had, for they were only worth as much as she needed them to be. The blonde queen of earth was better off dead, and learning exactly what was true confidence, knowing how cynical it could be that the afterlife was essentially a planet.
Not the favor of a dead kitsune, who since her passing, clearly wasn't ever going to see the light of day again. That lesser male of a Saiyan, was supposed to choke on his own blood as he died, knowing how much he had ran off his mouth, as if that would really achieve anything but what was an overdue death.
The demon mage, struck dead and sent to Hell where he could possibly actually learn to be a better demon. Everyone else, whether would be heroes or demons not of her interest, could have just killed each other off. Delphi, Seid, and that demon she was acquainted with, met the hands of their own stubbornness.
3..6..9...It didn't matter how many of them had died, or who'd live. Their value was worth less than they truly were for their incompetence, and when tempting her patience, doubled only in the amount she'd kill, if something of hers were to be taken. Someone. Did she really have to even mention, who?
The presence of the Vampire besides her, like the few other Matriarchs there were, was the only reason she wasn't lying off somewhere right. These higher forms were meant to help bear the annoyances of non-Vampire voices, but there was only so much they could really do alone, that another Vampire couldn't.
There would be rightful hell to pay, for one of their deaths, for it was only around one of her own, could she truly feel like her mind was right. Even with the consideration of how much she had to confide, and the annoyances in each and every one of them, she still found herself in a relatively good mood.
Though where her heart should have been beating, there was
temptation.
"Because it was a mistake to believe that you'd win, especially with those others abandoning you for the Tree of Might."For all of the issues that man had to him, his power wasn't one that should have been so discredited. Would be heroes who aligned themselves apart of this one's tower, just blatantly dismissing Caesar, just to fight against Saiyans standing around a giant tree. There were no excuses that could have justified the action, and that man in the end, had failed to kill as many as he should have. There could have been so much more loss that day, if he didn't doubt.
She never stopped sharing smiles here and there as she listened to him talk, even with the accusation that anything she had done and said, were more than harmless. It made it all the more entertaining, knowing if she had really leaned towards one side, she would have fought that lesser male from the start.
"Threaten? If gestures are inappropriate now that you're around, then children are damned, for I say nothing that doesn't hold some truth to it."It was clear he was talking about her telling that Saiyan to slit his own throat, but who wouldn't? Guy told her to fuck off or kill him, and having no interest in having that image painted of her, why wouldn't she have given him the middle finger, through her own words? He was like Flare and friends, charging in, and given the opportunity to do so, she had doubted he wouldn't have ran off like they had either. Or die uselessly in a single shot.
Over the course of her and the other Vampire making their way around the city, she had suppressed less and less of her power. There hadn't been a need to use the full extent of it, and she hadn't planned at all to see it come close to suppressing it fully, like she had on that day of East City's fall.
The weight of power, was already more than a mental restraint for her, as what felt like invisible chains, needed to be broken out of to even enter this form. Maintaining it was ignoring the feeling of chains wishing to wrap around and grasp her. But
this was a different feeling in its entirety.
The presence of the sun had once nagged at her body, unwilling to go away, until she had grown stronger, and the feeling became unnoticeable. In the same regard, had been the euphoria that came with drinking blood and being able to so naturally speed around. She truly felt dead in this form, the warmth of the sun, and the taste of blood, unable to push away the constant air of cold that surrounded her. The feeling of the chains grasping around her, she could always tell would leave her alone, until she allowed it to bind her, a glimpse of its ghostly form appearing for a visible short few seconds.
What gap there was between them, she had moved closer and closer as she responded to his words, her body blurring away as she transformed. She was older, and much more of what one would expect a queen to be, picked from a crowd of faces. Power even greater than it had been, as a Matriarch.
It was the sudden spike of a higher, but unfamiliar power, that had momentarily stopped her from saying anything else further. The voice that had spoke out and revealed itself, there was no mistaking the fact that this really
was the Queen of Demons. The woman who she was supposed to meet in private, in what she had always envisioned to be a pleasant experience. But now, it was questionable just where things would lead, with
him here.
"Spare me your preaching about burdens. I had a lot to confide to you, one of them being how you were meant to try keeping Nakiya and Caesar, in check. Another was how, as the Queen of Vampires, I can rightfully say that new Queen of Earth, is more incompetent than you think she is. Would it reassure you to know, I also have two kids now?"The speech that came from the Queen of Demons, wasn't particularly long, though her approach to getting the earthlings to stop, was so questionable. Something to mock. Which was what she had envisioned their first encounter would have been like, had the demon chose to suppress her power.
The woman besides her, had always the better sensor, so it was hard to say if there was any suppression involved by the other queen's signature. She wanted to believe it was more so powering up, if only partially because she had expectations of how the Demon Queen was, contrary to what she had been told.
She was just a clear example of the things she wished she could do, being able to kill others she detested, on a whim. One would have to be delusional to even buy the idea that lesser male would still be breathing, if he had pissed off the Queen of Demons, who had not much reason to restrain herself.
There was some exaggeration to her words, but when she had envisioned confiding to him, there had still been some anyway. To be able to lie, there needed to partial truths, and with how they were practically strangers outside of good faith, what reason would he have not to believe her? She was a queen in her own right, and for some other queen to badmouth her, it should have been treated as nothing but politics at work, knowing they lived on the same land.
Only West City having remained standing, only goes to emphasize how she was actually competent. There could be accusations about it being luck, but with this kind of power at her grasp, could it truly be seen that way? Especially with the other power houses being gone for the Tournament of Power.
The two kids she had mentioned, were the Android that had her likeness, and the Bio-Android that was to be her successor. The former would have been more believable, but double of what he might have expected, was better off. He and everyone else not affiliated with her in some way, unsurprisingly doubted she even had anyone to look out for. It made her wonder if the group photos she had, would be too surreal to believe a woman like her had such interests.
"A band of demons decide to attack the city, and you didn't think there was a chance she'd show? I've only heard that she sat more on her throne than fight herself, but I didn't buy the idea."Compared to her, he must have been feeling dread. Even with what training he could have done in the afterlife, she couldn't imagine his power could have already came close to hers. The form of an Antediluvian, was double of what she had as a Matriarch, and it was only fitting she was the first in centuries.
He was clearly and unsurprisingly headed towards Nakiya, but with her own great power, it should have been expected to see both her and the other Vampire follow along. Though after doing so, and getting within the woman's line of sight, she had began a slow clap in response to the demand she had heard of.
"Lovely speech, but that's not the tried and true method you believe it to be. That metallic dragon and one subordinate of your Demon King, had already failed at putting fear into the earthlings. And if they didn't bat an eye at my suppressed power, what narcotics are deluding you into believing you're different?"It was clear mocking, but like she had told the swordsman, her words had truth to them. This would have been the third time someone tried to scare with power, not even counting herself, and failing to make the mortals stop. Would be heroes were too asinine to realize where their place really was.
"I've heard about your little experiments, and they could have done a much better job, doing what you fail to. But it's no surprise when they have a queen who stays in the shadows. How even interactive are you with your kind, if they're struggling to even stick into groups? There was no fear in her words as she inched closer, eyes tracing over parts of the woman's body, that would have flushed her cheeks and put warmth into her heart, if it had still been beating. Out of everything she had been shown of that man's memories, the most disturbing and vivid she had seen, had been all of his personal conquests. She knew all of the ways the Demon Queen liked to be touched, and just how much even her presence could be an addiction.
A lot of things were said about Caesar and how many wrongs they considered he had done, overlooking how all the whores he managed to bed, and those he could have considered loves, saw something in him they found to be irresistible. Even someone like this woman, who didn't hesitate in telling these mortals to bend the knee, was charmed by this man. So much to the point where, she didn't doubt he wouldn't have been missed, if he somehow had died permanently.
It was technically a weakness, but at the same time, was so likely to be buried, to be manipulated for what it was. This ultimatum showed stubbornness in the first place, knowing someone of her status, could easily just take out that Earth Queen, and just win this battle. She wanted to see just how much it could last, knowing all she felt about someone who had no worries when it came to killing, were mixed in with those man's own memories that she was more.
There was a thin line between how long memories who weren't hers, she could considered to be her own, even if it was obvious she hadn't truly lived that life. Part of her could so easily claim that she and the Demon Queen had nights together, but it was a false reality, only waiting for an opportunity to be in existence. A possibility she'd allow another part of herself to wish for, as in the end, this woman's own perception, she could only dream of.
"If the mortals here bend the knee to you, they'd be subservient to a fool who needs a man to lead them. Can you really say you can lead the demons if Caesar was gone? What distinguishes you from his whores?"Insults, more of what she had of, were the only things along with her own movements pacing side to side of the woman, that kept away the feeling of coldness in this form. What warmth there was, it was nothing but that adrenaline feeling that what she was saying and doing, was bold and daring in ways that could cost her life. But the Demon Queen and several other women of power, she would be happy to die to, knowing they'd be such a challenge to would be heroes.
The questions were all things most would feel insecurity of, and even an actual strike at her, would make it rather clear that words could possibly be enough to trigger anger, however slight it was. Though it was also telling of just what this woman's thinking was, as a queen. So many possibilities.
In the end, if it came down to a fight, she would gladly do so.
Fist against mass.
With enough hits to it, there was an unsurprising sensation of pain to be had. In her eyes, it was retribution for her causing harm to someone, and the potential that her being strong enough, would kill someone. Lives
did have their value, and the consequences for taking one was likely to show not long after. Like some sort of disturbance that couldn't be stopped, but it wasn't as if she had wanted to do so in the first placed. It was 'right' not to.
What made it interesting, was when the person she was hitting, showed anything but anger. Happiness or otherwise, made her question just what was it about their background, which had them not faltering. Even the strongest of individuals showed some kind of agitation or annoyance at being hit by another.
That demon mage had been more of the latter, blood quickly escaping from his mouth as she beat into him. All of these punches, under the queen's order, they had been meant to bring forth an agitation that would have cost his life. A mistake if it had been brought forth, as there
was going to be no mercy.
The brunette was likely going to already kill the guy and several other demons herself, if they didn't live up to expectations. Qualifications for such only amounted to those of her interest, not dying. The Queen of Earth and that male Saiyan, were really the only two that this battle brought the opportunity to kill. There wouldn't even be any future chances, knowing that if the demons had failed to take out one or the other, responsibility would fall on her.
It was a heavy burden, but it would be nothing short of an illusion to believe there was any weight to it on her shoulders. She just needed to charge up the technique the other Vampire had come up with, and release it. She had the best ki sensing out of all of their allies, there was no one better for the job.
The healing capsule she had grabbed and threw, she had it in her prayers it would help set some things right. In the end though, she had still meant to hit in the face or body, somewhere, as if she was throwing ki. The thanks that came afterwards was odd, but this one was already quite unusual.
Knowing he would likely die before the day's end just as well, correcting him wasn't of any importance. Things were taking shape here in a way that she hadn't expected, between her queen and the swordsman. A clash of accusatory words, that normally should have just been able to be brushed off as nothing, becoming much more. Time and time again, it was so decisive by those they weren't familiar with, that this was who the other Vampire really was.
Someone who could easily be marked off as an enemy. Those without importance, it wouldn't matter. Whoever their leader was, the idea that their aid could be lost, was satisfying enough to use it against them. But those with importance, there was likely a feeling of being slighted in some kind of way.
"It's not an inaccurate statement. There was a chance things could have been different, but for whatever reasons they might have had, your allies had gone for the Saiyans instead."At first, she had expected talking about that incident so openly, would have been the source of confidence, that would tip the scales of who the universe would lean towards. But there was no anger in her queen's eyes, just dismissal at the idea that the heroes could have actually won that day.
It was an odd circumstance in the first place, having so many discredit someone with power, and believing in the idea he wouldn't strike. And where were those people now? Each ticking moment and day they hadn't been heard of, there was supposed to be the likelihood that someone else would come to replace them. Her only wish, shared with her and the others loyal to their queen, was that there wasn't an imbalance of who was good and who was evil.
The emphasis that came, and the incredible spike of power, said enough the cause couldn't have been that incident. It seemed more like with where things were leading, what was supposed to be some form of reassurance, came with the highest form the brunette had been able to access. All this talk about how they were just letting things slide, when the band of demons who were fighting, hadn't even bat an eye at the gradual increase throughout the city.
What did it mean to have power more than others, if showing it off, wasn't enough to cause those with less to stop. That was what she figured things were getting at here. Their kind was so used to power, and the mortals themselves, were likely already exposed to it. So what would the swordsman be getting at, expecting them to help out, if their presence wasn't enough to cause fear? It was business they were free to choose to intervene, as they weren't human.
"There's some misunderstandings of the situation that can be alleviated, but it requires cooperation."She had remained silent about her own input, until the Antediluvian had finished accusing the swordsman of preaching his beliefs. But the speech that came from the Queen of Demons, ruled out any chance that could happen. Things were taking a quick turn, delaying the moments of peace they could have had.
The Queen of Demons, it had always been a possibility she would have showed up. That private meeting between this woman and her queen, which had never happened, could easily be a cost on whether or not the demons would get to live. It depended on whether the male Saiyan or the blonde queen was still alive.
Your Queen's arrival changes nothing. Kill the older Saiyan or risk dying yourself. As she followed after her queen and the swordsman, her eyes had briefly closed, picturing that demon mage. He really wouldn't get to live if he had failed. The Demon Queen's appearance made things a bit unpredictable, but when was another opportunity going to come, for she and her queen to do as they wished?
If the universe was good to them, and their plans had went well, they would only sparingly come back to earth, in the same way her queen refused to go to Namek. A lot of weight hung on her shoulders, being what would decide what happens with them in the future. War with the demons was possible, but a mistake.
Things won't change, so long as you and the others kill who Lady Rukia wants dead.Mentally connecting with Delphi, and those other female demons next, she repeated the same message, one after the other. It was her own words that she was speaking for, which she knew she could guarantee. If they all properly did their jobs, then they wouldn't end up dying, despite not doing their best to hold up against their end of the deal. It was one of the things they could set right themselves, bringing forth better circumstances down the line.
Right from the start of their arrival, the brunette didn't waste anytime with starting the conversation. It was so mocking, everything seeming to hold so much more weight to it, with the natural cold and weight of that form. Things didn't feel right, seeing where things were leading. A fight could really break out, and she'd be caught up in it, adding onto the burdens she had to carry, by making sure the swordsman wouldn't die another early death.
But things going well for her queen, also meant making sure the Demon Queen, didn't die an early death either. She had the suspicion the brunette would have wanted them to only knock out the woman, and take her out of what was considered hostile territory. Have the biggest favor owed to them, even if someone who was as much as a leader as the other Vampire, wouldn't have likely seen it that way. Losing a battle for either, wouldn't be something pleasant.
Please forgive Lady Rukia, if she causes the Demon Queen to fight. She has certain and strong expectations when it comes to leadership. Myself and other allies, a bit of your history together. That gravity technique you have, if it comes down to it, should be used on the Demon Queen.Though she carefully kept an eye on the demon woman, in the case that they were attacked, she had also briefly linked her mind to telepathically talk with the swordsman. They had all undertaken gravity training to the highest it could benefit them, and there was always the body needing to adjust to pressure.
No matter how strong someone was, the gap it took to get used to it, was really all they would need to have some kind of advantage. But this was under the belief things wouldn't get too serious right off the bat, and she'd have to do her hardest to dodge. They didn't really know how a possible fight could go.
All she could do was pray things would go well.
Doing her best to keep anyone from getting killed.
From the start, she was already meant to fail, knowing she was here under false pretenses. The Elemi Restoration Project was real, and she technically was apart of the efforts being done, to recall her kind back onto one planet. But it was still only in progress because of Lady Rukia keeping in contact.
What she wanted meant so much more, and what she did wasn't supposed to get in the way. It was a choice,
her choice, of how to do it. This was what she had agreed to do, but with everything going on around them, she wondered if she was really able to make a difference at all around here.
So many people, who although might not have been stronger than her, were able to move around so freely. She envied them and what they could do, knowing how this skin around her, always felt like it was convulsing and shutting tightly, making her want to tear it apart and open. It was an obstacle she had to face, time and time again, knowing that succumbing to it, would only place her into a position that she wouldn't have really liked to be released.
There was always a bit of madness being exposed to her power, and just watching what was so natural to her, burn away, rather than help like it should have. She couldn't control it, as hard as she tried to, and knew it was only because her powers were incompatible with this body. This skin, without it, for just how long would she be able to even be around someone, and not hurt them? The time it took tended to change, but in the end, never failed to make her feel so afraid for what she was. Had her wonder if it was truly right for all of her kind, to be on the same planet again. They were separate for a reason, right?
All of these doubts had quieted down, as she moved around the city again, trying to make out who exactly was it that needed help. For a brief moment, as she had gotten further and further away from where Lady Rukia was, she thought back to that Elemi she had been asked to serve some time ago, in the mansion.
A hybrid, she had been told, and one who actually seemed to have a sense of control because of it. What was it like to have that kind of power, and still be sane? Someone who could be a leader, and smart enough to be praised by Lady Rukia. It was an achievement to have that kind of respect. Not too many people did they really talk about so heavily, that was also positive. The way that so much negativity could be directed at them, and to also use it as motivation, she wanted something like that. Her own pain should have been that, but she saw it as so much more of how stronger she could have become, feeling it.
The demons around them spoke and mocked those trying to stop them, and she remained silent as she passed by, fighting against the sting her own body gave her. They had their own beliefs, and their own reasons to go on fighting, but she was told so often that they mattered so much less to others.
Why? What made them so different? Most of these guys weren't hurt, as far as she could tell looking at them. She was supposed to have only helped those who were 'good' according to Lady Rukia, but that other woman who was fighting with the earthlings, had said it was fight to help anyone she could.
She was supposed to more than that, but it seemed unlikely to happen, trying to get them to stop fighting. Those demons, they had already told everyone if they had surrendered, that things would have been fine. She didn't know much about how closely they were together with the Vampire, but if they were trusted, she could as well. It was the same back on her planet, when she had been gathered up for the Elemi Restoration Project, and sent here.
What was there to do against someone who was so much stronger? She still thought that way even now, watching these people fight, and it didn't change as she headed to one of the stronger powers in the area. Away from that demon with rocky flesh, she and the others had met. This was so close to that new Queen of Earth, but not quite enough for her to really be expected to help out. There was a kid here, a Saiyan, if what he wore was really the judge of anything.
He was trying to challenge that Demon Mage, if she was hearing things right, seeming to ignore that other Demon was actually charging some blade. There was so much anger in his words, she could feel the bite it had to it, even if his power felt like it was lower than hers. What made him believe the one with the blade, just wasn't going to launch his attack? She was tired, and her bones ached, doing all of this running, trying to even find someone she could help.
He seemed like he needed it. She knew she could take the blow of that blade, if she had tried. Maybe not even die to it. It was hard to say, and really even picture herself going up against something like this, and still manage to live. But here she was, getting in front of this guy and shielding him.
He wasn't going to be mad, right? It was hard to talk, and even more to try calming her exhaustion. It was only the voice of the Demon Queen speaking from the skies, that stopped her from even charging up an attack, like she had the idea to do. Another message for those fighting against them to surrender.
Being here like this, and knowing that people were still fighting, she found it a little funny. Enough to crack a smile, as she thought against what she had planned earlier, for something else entirely. She wouldn't even need to fight against that blade either, if it had really came down to it.
"They've already been warned three times. None of the earthlings are going to give up, so please, if you want to fight, take this somewhere else."She likely couldn't win, even with help, but she wasn't meant to do more than stall in the end.
Mortals always had misplaced confidence.
In small towns and cities, it was entertaining, knowing they didn't stand a chance, no matter how much they tried. She worked her way up from a fight, getting as much of a swing in her blades as she could, before taking everything down entirely. Facing off against an opponent who could keep up with her, but didn't do the same, just what was it they were trying to get at? That woman, whose presence never seemed to stop growing, had told her of how demons were meant to die to humans. That they were worth less than they saw themselves as, and it didn't matter if one of their lives had been taken.
She had thought nothing of it, because someone who wanted to kill her, would have to try so hard if they were serious. So just what was this, to only be able to swing her blades a couple of times, and already be pushed into what was her best? There was no build up, and that feeling she got since coming back to Makai, just felt all wrong. She hadn't even gotten hit once yet, so just what was this nagging at her, like something was actually missing?
The answer didn't come to her when she had started to accept she was going to get hit, and still didn't appear when she had dismissed Seid saving her from the blow. She only knew as she saw the girl being healed, that she again hadn't died like she was supposed to. Those other humans got in the way of that.
The one that she had chased after, had even managed to just teleport away, and out of her grasp. That blonde was going to say something out of this, in confidence. Go on about some nonsense she could never care enough for, but understood just enough that it was because they thought they could still win.
She always did what she could to fight her hardest, but did they really believe she had put her full power into the attacks she already gave? If she had done what that girl had did, they would be dead right now.
She would be able to do what the other demon still couldn't managed to pull off.
He had chosen to heal himself as well, an advantage he had that she didn't, but also annoyed her. The tone in his voice came off so much like it was going to be the end for him, and that he'd actually lose to the mortals here. If any of the others were even near the blonde's power, they wouldn't have the energy to use it, choosing to heal her. This was what would be the death of them. What would make her and Seid different, from the others in the area.
The other demons attacking the city, they weren't going up against anyone special. Nothing likely stronger than the power of a Demon Lord for a few of them. It was meant to be their victory, but all of this talking was like there was any doubt. She had started to charge her full power into her swords, as the queen had announced her arrival and gave the mortals another warning. The presence of that woman had also gotten even closer, and on her queen's level.
That power, that was what she had knew the woman to have. The reason she was always so cautious around her. It was greater than even what the queen had. A meeting between those two, it was what that woman had wanted from them. What was supposed to be given, much earlier than before the invasion of this city.
They hadn't been killed for that yet, so there was something stopping that from happening. But would it still even happen at all? The voice that spoke into her mind, was one of the others of that woman's kind, bringing her a warning to kill the blonde, if she had wanted to still live. Like it was an option.
Her eyes were kept on the blonde, knowing that any business they had with that woman, was because of this girl. After her death, would anything else really matter? They could do as they wished, if there was no one left that woman wanted to kill. Could be free from their deaths happening at any moment.
That feeling she was missing, maybe it was the control she had of her own life.

Antediluvian [x47] is active.
5/5 Stamina
Action:
Galen "In the end, she supposed it didn't matter what worth the demons really had, for they were only worth as much as she needed them to be."
Playfully argues with Galen, and transforms into an Antediluvian, having decided the demons were only worth as much as she wanted them to be. Brings up a bit of what she wanted to confide, and that she has two kids now, as a half-hearted attempt to appeal to him in some way. Wasn't mentioned, but Galen's pretty much the only political figure Rukia needs to have a chat with to end slander towards her by the weak.
Heizen Since Koma's going with the idea Nakiya was never told of the deal, all will be forgiven, so long as
Celerous and
Holly Dae Valiare dies. Because I honestly can't see Rukia being mad at this point. This whole thing's already a huge, and quite possibly the only instance this many political figures will be in a thread together. All that's missing is Heizen, excluding Koma and his forsaken earth policy.
Zalt Kuroko is attacking Celerous, who Natsumi has specifically mentioned should be killed, if she is to guarantee most of the demons will live.
NakiyaRukia mocks Nakiya, while hating how she knows the Demon Queen's 'weakspots'.
